Match of the Millennium

Description: Some parts of the tournament are relatively insulated from the rigors of the day to day drama going on behind the scenes. Once relatively assured of her friend's safety, Edenlith's success in the tournament has earned her a match with the genius, Ken Masters. The US Martial Arts champion may unabashedly enjoy quite a bit of privilege in whatever event he goes to, and there is probably more than a small fiscal interest in DOATEC fronting him with a proven performer in their very own coliseum for a little ratings grab of an exhibition. At least, that's what it looks like on the surface. It's a little hard not to feel like a rat on the maze, with the labyrinthine setup of tournament and promo matches.

Well, that's the kind of thing that can happen when you're on your Cruise Liner and just, well, chillaxin'. After a long hard fought battle last round with his new (apparently) partner in all this DoA Shenanigans, Ken Masters has taken to allowing himself some time to just, y'know, be rich. It's like a whole facet of his personality. Just go with it.

At the moment, the US Martial Arts Champion is kicked back on one of the luxurious chairs on the deck and definitely not paying attention to any blinking devices or prompters telling him what may or may not be going down. He doesn't even know it's time for Round 2. There are sun rays to be absorbed at the moment. And fancy drinks with little umbrellas to drink.

Hashtag This Is The Life

[EDENLITH]
Edenlith was a little late. Things happen, you know. She is on her way, Storm(Her cat) in her arms. She's not coming from the land, however. She's coming from the water. Yes, she's actually running at very high speed on the water, in her school outfit, with a cat in her arms who's not exactly happy to see the water rising around them. At least Storm doesn't get sick.

Once close enough to the boat, she somehow manages to have enough momentum to jump onto the deck of the cruiser. She lands with one knee and one fist on said deck with quite a bit of noise. "Sorry I am late, but I am ready." She puts Storm down, who tells her. "Please, let's not do that again. I really hated it." Edenlith nods, but doesn't listen, she looks for her opponent instead.

That's a lot of noise for a Cruise Liner that's supposed to be in Chillaxation Mode. Which is why Ken Masters hops up from his seat and waves off his third drink of little umbrella deliciousness. It does not take him but a moment to realize that someone has decided to INVADE his personal luxurious space!

"Hey!" Ken Masters points with dramatic flair as he's rocking just his man bun and his red swim trunks because he was totally tanning this entire time. "What're you doing on my--"

There's a tap from one of the Cruise Liner staff on his shoulder and Ken turns that pointing finger into a 'one second' finger while they chat amongst themselves for a brief moment. The look of realization comes over Ken's face in the next moment and then the Cruise Liner staff walks away. Ken turns his attention back to the party crasher and cat.

"Hey, sorry, my bad. Totally didn't even know it was time for another DoA match. I'm Ken, by the way. Ken Masters. I'm super awesome." Ken's hand is extended as he approaches for some introductions before the fight. "Ready to put on a show?"

Edenlith watches what is going on, as the man seems lost. She waits patiently at that because she had no contract to kill him it was just a friendly fight. Well, not too friendly. There would be pain. Then he presents himself to the pair. Edenlith looks at Storm, who tells her who he is. "It's Ken. He's pretty cool. You're lucky to fight him really. And I am sure you know who he is." Eden shrugs her shoulders. "He's Ryu's shadow." Finally, she extends her hand to shake her opponent's own. "I hope you can hurt me like that chick did." She smiles and jumps back, getting into a stance.

Meanwhile Storm apologizes for Eden with a shy cat smile, then backs up for the moment. He wasn't part of the fight. If he has his way, he will never be part of this fight.

Ken Masters takes a second to raise an eyebrow. "I almost like this cat. But then it had to call me Ryu's Shadow. So rude."

Ken grins as he pretends to be offended. Though, anyone that knows Ken knows his ego is pretty much bulletproof or something. He's just too rich and hot and awesome to care too much about the words from a cat. "Don't worry, I'll give you the full Ken Masters Experience." Ken winks at Edenlith as he takes some steps backward to get some more room on the deck. Because they are about to let this fight go down right here, right now.

"Starting with an oldie but a goodie..." Ken kicks things off a sudden bringing up of his hands, energy swirling between his palms and thrusting outward with those open palms to send that chi-flavored fireball in Edenlith's direction with minimal hesitation. "HADOUKEN!"

"It looks like your wealth makes you soft." She grins. "But probably not. Let's see what you can do!"

And then here it is, Hadouken. It comes toward her, and she moves a bit. Either she's pretending to want to dodge, but actually wants to feel what the Hadouken will do to her. Or it's too fast and she got taken by surprise. The end result is the same, she receives the projectile straight on her and is sent into the air, a bit before she lands into a crouch position. "Not bad. This is will be fun. Thank you, Ken!"

She gets back up in a standing position and gets a couple of karambit knives from under the skirt of her uniform. The shirt of said uniform is a bit worse for wear, but it's not the first time. She makes her way so she is in front of Ken. Then she proceeds to run around him. She makes a few illusions of herself, running around him as well. They all proceed to slash at different parts of his body. The real Edenlith actually doing physical damage. The illusions bring mental pain, but no real physical marks. That is, if the attack hits in the first place.

Ken Masters take a second to watch what's about to go down. He's already brushing his shoulders off from using one of his popular moves right out of the gate. He just grins the entire time Edenlith is making her way back to him. "Ask and ye shall receive." Ken's more than happy to lean into the fun of the fight. That's like his entire deal. He even goes so far as to bow playfully in victory of his Hadouken striking true for whatever reasons it did.

And then there's about fifteen Edenliths running around him with knives and it's a little too crazy. "Whoa!" Ken double takes a few times as he dodges a knife here and a knife there and it suddenly becomes too many knives to try and dodge one at a time. So he just leaps up and out of the Edenlith Swarm, somersaulting above them and coming to a crouched landing on the Cruise Liner's deck. "Okay, that move is awesome." Props are tossed toward Edenlith before Ken tries to get a bead on which one is the real one.

Ken reaches into the Edenlith swarm in an attempt to grab the TRUE EDENLITH and shove his foot into her gut so that he can somersault roll backwards for some stylish throwing antics!

Ken is really doing great right now. To be fair, Edenlith is impressed by his dodging abilities. He managed to dodge quite a few with body movements, before jumping away from it completely. Respect for Ken. Storm was starting to get worried for Eden. But he has seen her in worse positions than she is right now.

Go Eden you can do this. "Of course, those Encouragements come right as she gets kicked in the guts and then go flying into the hair from Ken Somersault's throw. She also lands in a mess of long chairs, making an even worse mess. Might this be the end of Eden?

No it isn't. She feels the pain, she gets up a little slower, but she has a grin on her face. "A bit too much luck now, tone it down." Of course deep downs he knew it wasn't only luck, not even a majority of luck, but it still had to be said.

She then moves with the agility and dignity of a cat in front of Ken, with a smile. The smile doesn't look happy, but creepy. She then throws her knives in the air and attempts to sweep Ken's feet from under him. Assuming this works and he falls on the ground, she then grabs his ankles and pulls on them, so the knives fall back down toward his chest. Gravity with Edenlith. Teamwork!

Popping up from his throw allows Ken to get a second to watch as Edenlith just gets back up. He's impressed, that much is super clear. He's also smiling because he's having an awesome time. There are not many fights where he actually has fun. So this is definitely a plus on that radar.

"Oh. I like you." Ken says in response to the luck comment. "Not everybody has good fight banter. Bonus points for you." Ken winks playfully and then his eyes are yanked upward by... wait, are those knives?! WHAT?!

While looking up at the knives, Ken doesn't even notice that he's being swept off his feet until it happens! He winces as he smacks against the luxurious boat's deck... and then he feels hands around his ankles. "Seriously?!" It's an 'oh great' tone that comes with him being snatched into the path of those knives. He can't really do much to dodge so he just braces his arms together to protect his chest from the Thunderstorm of Blades.

Blood drips from his arms as they are quite cut up from Edenlith's attack and Ken shakes his feet free to roll backward and back up to his feet and skids backwards a bit. He raises his foot overhead, lunging forward with quick graceful slide and aims to drop that heel down across Edenlith's skull like some sort of guillotine!

"You like me? Adrenaline must be speaking." She smirks, having a good time herself.

It sure makes the sweep easier when Ken focuses on her knives. However, she's kind of disappointed when he blocks the knives with his arms. But there is blood, and that's always nice. She even ends up licking her lips a little. She doesn't even try to keep his grip on him. I mean the fight has to go on anyway.

Ken is quick to go from defensive to offensive. That foot is coming in quick for a kick that would certainly knock her noggings. But we will never know, as she rolls out of the way, grabbing her two fighting knives in the process and ending in Ken's back if she has her way. Then she unceremoniously kicks at his rear end. Nothing dangerous, simple fun. Also, perhaps a bit of humiliation if it does hit.

Ken Masters is all about moving and grooving and so when Edenlith rolls out of the way of his stylish axe kick, there's already some movement of his own in preparation for countering the move that's coming. He's an experienced fighter so he knows when the axe kick misses to be prepared for some defense. It usually leaves him open.

And there's the kick aimed for his butt!

"Watch it!" Ken grins as he rolls on his heels to spin around and get his tush away from that foot. "My wife's gonna' be pissed if I come home with... damaged goods." Ken flings another wink in Edenlith's direction before he slides himself into another fighting stance. Just to keep the action flowing.

Ken rushes for Edenlith, sliding down into a crouch the moment he gets close enough. He hesitates just for a moment before rising up to aim a trifecta of rising uppercuts, those stylish Shoryukens, at Edenlith to try and juggle her into the air and really try to turn up the heat on this battle!

"Shoryuu Reppa!"

Edenlith is not too surprised or bothered by Ken getting away from that Monstruosity (not) of a kick, but she has to answer Ken. She's pretty chatty with him today, considering. "Why would she marry you if she hates damaged good?" She grinds, being a little bitch, but she likes Ken, hell, deep down at times, she likes everyone, but Ken is kind of special.

Then he rushes to her. Oh my god, it's his famous rising uppercut, in an economic format. Three for the price of one. If they hit, they hurt, she is sure of that. She pulls her upper body back for the first one. She feels the air, as it comes so close to hitting her. Then she flips back fully for the second one, feeling the fist grazing her left school shoe, but it allows her to be safe from the third one also, as she lets herself slide back a bit, as her feet touch the ground from that flip. There must be a god out there for demonic little bitches, as it does look like a miracle she could evade all three of them, from an accomplished fighter like Ken.

Now it's her turn. Her red eyes glow with intensity. More intensity than when she usually does this thing. She wants to hurt Ken. Will she manage it?

"I hope you have medical personnel on board?" Edenlith says before everything would go black around Ken, like a complete void. At least if she has her way. Keeping the illusion going she moves close to him and whispers in his ears. "No one loves you. It's time now." Then Ken would feel pain as she starts slicing and stabbing at his body. Even if it works, she wouldn't go to the point of killing him, but she was done playing now. It is time for pain.

Eventually the illusion, as well as the slicing and the stabbing stops. Things are bad to normal.

So now Ken gets it. There's a Cat. Edenlith is kinda' cat-ish (there was that whole creepy smile earlier) and there's been playful and witty banter for the first half of this 'bout. But now, though, was the darkness starts to fall around him, it all comes together. It all solidifies in his blonde head. It all just makes way too much sense.

Ken's the Mouse.

Taking a cue from the red glowing eyes and then the super rude speech that's whispered in his ear, Ken's already moving to plant himself on the defensive. His body tenses and braces as those slices and stabs start lacerating his body with the ease and quickness of someone that doesn't have any protective gear on. Next time he has to not be tanning when he gets into a fight with someone fighting with freaking KNIVES. So uncool.

The cries of pain are mostly through clenched teeth as Ken musters up enough strength to fight his way out of this slicing torment. "ENOUGH!" is shouted as Ken unleashes a hard, body shattering punch to Edenlith's chest. Hopefully, enough to stop those slicing stabs from doing any more damage to himself. The follow-up is so quick that Ken rises with a short and vicious uppercut to launch Edenlith skyward!

Ken's entire body is dripping blood now and he's going to have a ton of scars but either way, Ken seems to agree. Looks like playtime is over.

[EDENLITH]
Storm continues to watch the fight. It has turned very violent all of a sudden. He didn't like it that much but is used to it with Edenlith. Everyone bleeds when Edenlith is around, including herself. He's also aware she's doing that thing now but is pretty surprised when Ken manages to snap out of it, enough to give damage to Eden.

So what happens really? Eden is doing what she does best, bringing the pain into a fight, and out of nowhere, he slams his fist into Eden's chest, enough to make a crack sound happen. Soon after, another crack is heard, as a vicious uppercut hits Eden's jaw with force, and she goes upward, off the ground for a short moment. While traveling in the air, she spits some blood out of her mouth. She then spins as she prepares to do her landing. She lands on her feet. Maybe there is something to that cat thing. What will she do next? Actually, She does nothing but observes Ken. A smirk comes on her face, she definitely enjoys seeing him bleed.

Ken Masters is in a bit of pain but he's also bleeding profusely. He keeps his distance and keeps his eyes on Edenlith this entire time. The entire time that he's trying to calm himself down and allow his Ansatsuken training to help him put an end to this bleeding out that's going on. He doesn't need to be getting woozy in this fight. Especially, not right now when it's taking a turn for the seriousness.

"Alright, Cheshire." Ken dropping the Wonderland references. Nice. "You wanna' turn up the heat?" When he says this, there's a moment where it almost looks like his eyes glow with a flame or something. Maybe the fire that burns within is ready to come out.

"Let's."

Right after he composes himself for the next part of this here battle.

Ken is fun, and if he does something to last longer, who is she to complain. More fun for her."Fine, let's go, warrior!" Edenlith tells Ken.

Now comes the part Storm hates the most. But he doesn't realize it until Edenlith grabs him. So when Eden rolls toward him, he thinks nothing of it, until she actually grabs him. "Here we go again." says Storm, as he is now in her arms, and he knows what will happen. There is no enjoyment for him in that move. But what moves?

Eden smirks at Ken and then throws Storm toward his face. At the beginning of the short flight, the cat turns into the face-hugger creature from alien. Another illusion from Eden. And if Storm hits there will be claws involved. If it hits, poor Ken, and poor Storm.

There is also one more thing that might be noticed by Ken. As the fight goes on, the damage on Eden heals slowly. Bruises fade even her mouth is no longer spitting blood at the moment.

Ken's not quite astute enough to notice healing or if anything is an allusion. He's really just kind of a fighter. He doesn't have the tactical mind necessary to notice anything more than... AHHHHHHH CAT ALIEN KILLER THING ON ITS WAY AT HIM AT BREAK NECK SPEEDS!

And that's why Ken just covers up like he's seen M. Bison do way too many times. He covers himself up as much as possible, just allowing the tentacles or claws or whatever from this cat alien to deal with his arms. There's going to be some more blood going down and it's uncool because he just managed to calm all his bleeding down.

Ken makes sure to back off in case that kitty alien thing decides to in order to protect himself even more. But there's no more witty banter coming from Ken Masters. Not while Edenlith (and the Cat Nine From Outer Space) is trying to kill him. No, Ken just goes into the air and aims a quick kick in Edenlith's direction while he tries to get this battle back under control.

Edenlith outright laughs at the reaction from Ken as he sees the illusion coming toward him. Storm hits some fleshy arms when he gets there. Then he leaves without asking for anything else, to a hiding spot. He should be able to watch the fight and stay out of it now.

All is nice and good while this little comedy is happening, but Edenlith is distracted a bit. When the diving kick comes in her direction, she's not fast enough to dodge it, and she ends up on the ground. Why was that kick sexy? No idea but it was.

She rolls back onto her feet and then concentrates her healing powers to give herself a boost, probably allowing Ken to stay on the offensive.

Ken raises an eyebrow as he tries to stay focused on what's coming at him... and then there's nothing coming at him. He just rocked with a sexy diving kick and there's no response? Really? Huh. Time for some more smart aleck remarks from Ken then.

"Too hot for ya'?"

Ken grins and probably falls right into whatever trap is being set because he spins on his heel and aims another quick swing of his foot in Edenlith's direction! This one is nowhere near as sexy but at least he's trying to keep the offense going.

She doesn't answer right away instead, she gets another kick in the face. Because no one gets enough kicks in the face. Get yours today. It seems to rock her a bit as the foot hit harder than it should have. Yeah, she still finds time to mouth off after that. "Nan, just trying to get hit until it hurts. Are you even trying?". Even saying that she is feeling the pain. She's not down yet, however.

Ken would then see her eyes glowing again. Red and mischievous with a hint of anger in them. Then another illusion. The ground opens under the poor man's feet and takes him to hell. There are flames there, and it starts burning him alive. Not literally, his body would be fine, that damage aimed at his mind. At one point, he is back right where he was. Eden is right where she was, and he might be happy to see his wife wouldn't inherit damaged goods. That's, of course, assuming the illusion has taken hold of his mind in the first place.

Ken Masters stays freaking put. He still hasn't caught on that these are illusions or whatever in his mind because he's too busy trying NOT to burn to complete crisp. It's just not computing to him that Hell couldn't be where he is because this all started on his super awesome and expensive cruise liner. It's all relative. In his mind. Etc.

"Alright..." As the flames lick upon his arms and body, and his mind gets rocked by the searing pain of whatever psychic craziness is going on in there because of this chick, Ken Masters is heavily focused on preparing himself to mount some sort of counter offense. Even while covering himself up as much as possible.

When the illusion fades, Ken straightens up and cracks his neck. "So you wanna' turn up the heat? Let's turn up the heat!"

Ken steps it up with a little inflammatory chi as he takes off in a brisk run towards Edenlith and leads with a jump kick aimed for her chest. Of course, he's hoping to springboard somersault off her to the deck and immediately sprint back to close the distance and launches into the air with a vicious flaming hurricane kick that's definitely meant to sweep Edenlith up into it as well!

"Yes! Give it to me, you big brute!" Eden smirks as she says it, then awaits Ken's attack.

Then it starts first with the jump kick in her chest, which adds to the damage done earlier. It makes her back up, but she stays relatively upright. The hurricane kick is not dodged either. It even adds flames to an already damaged body. She is hurt and bad. She uses the last bit of her strength to concentrate with her mind, her feed shaky.

Her eyes glows again, harsher with pain added to them. She stares at Ken's eyes and then sends them visions of horrors into his mind. Horrors that would hit too close to home. Perhaps his wife, perhaps something else. Then if she takes hold of his mind again, she then throws her knives at his chest, before falling on the ground. She looks knocked out. Is she?

Ken Masters recovers from his torrential flaming kicks of doom and skids back across the deck with some heroic flair to his movements. He tosses his hair a bit, the manbun flapping around before he lifts his head back up to narrow his eyes in Edenlith's direction. With a sly smirk on his face.

Ken finally realizes what's going down. He catches those eyes glowing and before anything can actually get into his mind he does the smartest thing he's done all fight... he closes his eyes. There's a quick murmur of something about 'not this time medusa' as he straightens himself up into a more fitting stance.

Using all of his training from when he trained to fight without his eyes, he leans into his other senses and listens as he ears the knives coming across the cruise liner and in his direction. No hesitation, just fluid movements as he steps into the volley of knives and sends his palms against those knives, parrying and knocking them off their intended course.

Ken Masters eventually opens his eyes, upon hearing no more knives cutting through the air, and opens them to see a knocked out Edenlith.

Ken shakes his head and heads over to grab his phone. He dials up DoA staff with the quickness. "She couldn't take the heat. Come get her out of my kitchen." And Ken Masters hangs up with a triumphant slam of his phone.

She lost the fight, that's for sure. Ken knocked her out fair and square. But while she is out, her body kicks up the healing. It doesn't take that long before Eden gets back on her feet. "You won." She says. "Thank you for the pain. You're not just an egocentric asshole. I would hug you" She gets her knives as she speaks. "but you wouldn't like it. One day, maybe with a contract" She puts the knives back in their sheaths. "Or maybe because we have a match... We will fight again." She picks up Storm. "Stay alive until then." She winks, and she is gone. Which way did she take? It's hard to say. There is still some of her blood staining the floor there. A souvenir, perhaps.
