Description: Two Japanese maidens face off against the backdrop of a beautiful Shitennoji Temple.

[TSUGUMI SENDO]
A fight between two Japanese Maidens, Deserves an appropriate arena!

The Kanzuki estate had rented the Shittennoji Temple for today's fight. Located by Osaka- This place is often seen as the origin of Buddhism within Japan. It is a beautiful locale, most often muddied with tourists. Today is no exception- as a sizable crowd has gathered around one of the Plaza's- A nice, open area inlayed with uneven bricks. Journalists and cameramen pepper the scene- Eager to write a nice headline or snap a nice photo.

Tsugumi Sendo, the young and stocky wrestler from Gorin High, would arrive at the scene fashionably /barely on time/. The Girl running in seconds before the match was scheduled to begin. Breathing in and out heavily, she rests her hands on her knees before taking a moment to look at the magnificent sights around her. Catching a glimpse of the neighbouring, large Osaka City.

"It's good to be back, Osaka!"

[KASUMI TODOH]
Not much has been seen of Kasumi Todoh when it comes to the world of fighting. Her surprise entry into the King of Fighters awhile back has been the last time the young woman had been seen on the professional level. Truth be told she just hasn't had time. As much as she loves her father, he hasn't been around to run the dojo and it has fallen on the younger Todoh to handle training duties. Something she is more capable of, but a combination of that and finishing up school have left her little time to do much else.

Then came the annoucement of the Rising Stars tournament. One that the young fighter could not ignore and she found a way to make time to enter in hopes to show the world what Todoh-ryuu really is about. Not to mention it would be nice to win it all and use that win to make Kyokugen seem inferior. There is a lot of fighting ahead for that to happen, but Kasumi is determined and she has come prepared.

Stepping forward while adjusting her headband, Kasumi is much more reserved than her opponent. She had arrived early and had been patiently waiting. Her lips do quirk into a bit of a smile when Tsugumi finally does arrive and the small fighter gives a polite bow. "It is good to see you finally arrived. I was starting to think you weren't going to make it."

[TSUGUMI SENDO]
"Heya! Sorry- I overslept. It's good I took that happening into account, or I'd be even later! I'm Sendo Tsugumi, Nice to meet you!"

She admits, with healthy dose of laughter. When she's finished, a big smile still remains on her face- excited and determined to 'win this thing'. She needs to meet Edenlith and Daisuke on the way, after all! At the bow, Tsugumi fumbles for a moment before lowering into her own, shaky bow. Raising back straight- She takes her stance- arms spread fairly wide with the hands opened. Ready to take hold of whatever limb or clothing comes her way.

"I.. am.. ready!" She announces loudly, both to the judge and her opponent.

When Kasumi would have taken her stance, Tsugumi rushes forward. Ducking down before coming back up with a rising elbow-strike heading square to Kasumi's chin!

She isn't sure why, but this young woman reminds Kasumi a bit of Yuri. Maybe it is the attitude or the way she carries herself, or in the end Kasumi is just kind of using that to motivate herself to win. "Well it is nice not to be kept waiting. I am not sure how long they would have given you before disqualifying you anyways." That would be a win that would feel hollow as well to the young Todoh. She wants to be tested and not given easy wins.

"Now let us begin." She slips into her own fighting stance just in time to be ready for the incoming attack. While she is very much on the small side, Kasumi ends up not budging and giving up ground when that elbow seeks to slam into her chin. Instead she shifts an arm to deflect the blow as her other arm pulls back only for her to try a quick strike of her own while Tsugumi is nearby.
Like Tsugumi the blow is aimed at the chin, though it is an open palm strike from Kasumi's left hand that seeks to hit the other fighter with more force than one might expect from the tiny fighter/

"Woh- Nice!"

Tsugumi responds to the block, moving her arm such that Kasumi's palm hits only her hard elbow. The surprising power sends a wave of pain through her arm, but she doesn't slow down as she reaches for Kasumi with a wide motion of both arms- attempting to seek grip on the smaller fighter's leg and shoulder. If she would find it, Tsugumi would pull her opponent's leg up- while pushing the Todoh-Ryu practitioner down to slam their back into the ground with dangerous force.

Keeping things close tends to work out well for Kasumi as her style is very oriented in keeping up close and personal most of the time, though if the opponent wanted to keep there distance there is always a few tricks up her sleeve. The fact Tsugumi stays in close only makes Kasumi feel confident. Perhaps overconfident for that matter.

Her gaze tries to keep up with the movements and when Tsugumi tries to get a grip on the young Todoh, Kasumi is quick to reach for the arm grasping for her shoulder. Perhaps she should have looked at stopping the one going for her leg because that ends up getting a grip and throwing Kasumi's balance off enough to let the young woman get thrown hard into the ground with the force that knocks the air out of her.

It gives Tsugumi an advantage at least for now as Kasumi has to work at getting back to her a feel and looking a bit slow to do so from the hard impact of that slam. "Not bad, but it will take more than...than that." she manages to say through deep breaths. She just needs a moment to catch her breath, though she doubts the other fighter is going to allow for that.

Kasumi is most correct in her assumption, as Tsugumi is already preparing her next attack; Somewhat comedically spinning her arm around wildly as it- somehow, builds up power and momentum. Followed by lunging towards her- almost carried by her fist as it tries to smash into Kasumi.

"Sorry, But I'm here to win!"

Truth be told it is hard to say if Kasumi was playing possum a bit or not. She still looks a bit short of breath even as that strike comes towards here, but she narrows her gaze some and this time her hands catch Tsugumi by the arm in a vice like grip as the small fighter twists and uses her own momentum to heft Tsugumi up and slam her hard onto the ground face first before following up with a open palm strike to the back of the head for extra measure.

"Aren't we all? I would be disappointed if you gave me another answer." she replies calmly while taking a step or two back and taking a moment to refocus on the task at hand. That slam from earlier is still being felt, but she has been through worse. She also knows it is going to take more than what she has dished out to keep someone down like Tsugumi, the spry ones always do seem hard to keep down for the count.

"wo-oh-ah!"

Flipped around, pushed into the bricks- and struck in the head. The whole reversal went so fast- Tsugumi didn't even see what happened, really. Nontheless, she gathers herself and rolls over and back to her feet. "That was awesome- uh, what's your name? Sorry if I missed it!"

With a should sprint, she closes the distance before jumping- both legs leaving the ground in a drop-kick towards Kasumi-

As Tsugumi flies past her intended target- She lands and tucks into a roll away from Kasumi with surprising agility. Creating a uncomfortable amount of distance between the two as Tsugumi zips back on her feet.

"Forgive me. I did not introduce myself."

She was a bit too caught up in getting the fight started. The adrenaline was kicking in and even if she is hurting she finds a slight smile playing across her lips again as she nods to the other woman. "Kasumi Todoh." she reponds to Tsugumi while also quickly moving out of the way when she is charged and finds a pair of feet looking to slam into her. She is a hair faster than Tsugumi at this point and the pair find themselves staring at one another from a distance.

For Kasumi that is just perfect. While she does prefer a close up fight there are times she is more than fine with playing the distance game. If Tsugumi wants to close in again she will find herself having to deal with a wave of chi greated by the young Todoh as she raises her hands. "Kasane.....ATE!" The arms swing down as the energy is unleashed and sent hurtling right towards her opponent.

Tsugumi's eyes widen at the incoming blast of energy- she attempts to put her arms into a tight guard- but is too slow as the wave slips through, nailing her straight in her lower torso as she gets blasted backwards- the distance between the two growing ever greater. "Hnnggg, darn!"

Kasumi would have plenty of time to see the next attack coming- As Tsugumi would have to make the entire run back. When she would have finally gotten close, though, the wrestler passes by as she reaches for Kasumi's neck with her forearm- wanting to wrap her arm around the smaller girl's throat while locking her down at the chest with her second arm. Applying painful pressure if successful, potentially knocking the wind out of Kasumi if she is not careful.

With all that distance it would be safe to assume Kasumi would have something up her sleeve. Perhaps another blast of energy or the like, but she seems more ready to bide her time and let Tsugumi close in. Of course it has given her plenty of time to prepare herself and she gets an arm up to block the arm seeking to snake around her throat like Tsugumi would have liked. The other arm looks to grab the wrist of Tsugumi's other arm with a firm grip.

Damn Tsugumi is strong, but Kasumi manages to do her best to not be shaken by the tight grip and she tries to turn about and lift Tsugumi once more and flip her forward over her shoulder and hard onto the ground back first while also attempting to stumble back a bit to create just enough distance in an attempt to prep for whatever Tsugumi may try next.

Tsugumi doesn't budge. At all.

Somehow, against odds, Kasumi's attempt to flip the tomboy over is wholly unsuccesful. "Nice try, but grappling is my territory!" Tsugumi teases, before transitioning her current hold into another throw. Keeping her hold on the neck as she pulls up- attempting to lift Kasumi from the ground before in turn carrying -her- over the wrestler's back, risking to flip her over so that her chest and head will painfully collide with the stone beneath their feet.

For Kasumi it is all about leverage over strength, sadly in this case strength seems to be winning out and she is thinking of a good way to turn things into her favor. Even as she is looking to shift her grip she finds herself being lifted upwards. She is in no position to keep it from happening either. She isn't exactly heavy and she is hefted and tossed rather easily.

Again she meets the ground, this time on top of her head which is a jarring blow that causes her to black out even if momentarily. She scrambled rather quickly to get to her feet the first time, but she just lays there for a moment unable to find the strength to move before finally her vision starts to return and she gets to her feet. She needs to be more careful. She isn't going to be able to take too many more big slams like that again.

Tsugumi Sendo ups thumb. Have a nice evening, and good night!

"Yosh! I'm gettin' fired up! You better get ready!!"

Perhaps obnoxiously, she yells out while pumping her arms- Adrenaline surging through as she rushes to the recovering Kasumi once more- dashing behind her opponent before attempting to envelop Todoh's stomach with her muscled arms- If successful, Tsugumi would lean- and bend backwards to Suplex her into the ground head-first. Keeping up the grip on Kasumi's torso as she applies even more pressure on the area, inflicting serious pain on the ribs.

And the timer rings.
