Match of the Millennium

Description: The worshipper of spirits fights the spiritual lamia in the ring!

[JULIA]
She lost her last match, but the spirits have kept Julia Chang going. Her fighting spirit remains within her while the spirit of courage is burning brightly, and her will to persist will always be brightly visible as well. Hence the reason Julia was eager for this night to come as she approaches the entrance to the ring.

"Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, here is the Native American hippie herself, Julia Chang!" The announcer says as Julia waves around while running down the ramp to the ring. She jumps onto the ring's edge and somersaults over the ropes, landing quickly and then giving a spiritual style bow before returning to her corner.

From there, Julia places her hands together and says, "Spirits, give me strength." Before getting into her fighting stance and awaiting her opponent. Julia knows that, win or lose, she will always find improvement within herself with every battle.

[SOPHIA]
Sophia lost her last match as well she had been way over her head going against Morrigan. Lilith was frightening but her older sister had raw power. Sophia slithers up to the arena quietly.

"And her opponent this evening, the lamia who intends on teach a lesson, Sophia Nede!" She pulls herself over the ropes and into the ring closely examining her opponent.

Sophia notices Julia praying before the fight, it seems like her opponent is deeply spiritual which mean she may be more knowledgable than the average person about lamias. If this was the case she needed to act quickly before she could take advantage of that knowledge. She approaches the native American woman and begins to attempt to coil her body around her.

The shock of seeing a snake-woman coming towards the ring quickly wears off from Julia as she attempts to keep her focus within the fight. "You will guide me, spirits, I know you will," Julia says as she returns to her fighting stance. "Let's fight!" Julia says to her challenger.

When Sophia tries to wrap around Julia, the girl tightens herself up and attempts to unwrap the coils from her body. She ends up toughing out the tie-up and eventually breaking free. "The spirits will guide me through this!" She calls out.

And then Julia attempts to throw a simple kick at the lamia-woman. It's strange battling a creature like this, but whoever said wrestling wasn't strange?

Sophia's attempt to ensnare Julia doesn't go so well as she's kicked and stumbles back a bit. Maybe getting in close wasn't the best idea. Of course she can always fight from a distance if need be even if this is supposed to be a wrestling match. She opens her mouth widely, unhinging a bit before spitting an acidic glob at the other woman.

The acidic spit comes at Julia faster than she expects. It gets on her face and onto her torso as well, causing her to cry out as the corrosive substance burns her skin. As she wipes away what she can, Julia grits her teeth through the strong burning sensation. "Spirits, please protect me!"

After that, she turns and attempts to deliver a fierce strike with her palms, the power of the spirits flowing through her as she does so.

Sophia's rather vulnerable to spiritual attacks and Julia's is no exception. She cringes in pain as she can feel the life being slammed out of her. Given her strength letting Julia getting in close didn't seem to be the best idea. She backs away once again gathering energy of her own as her hands beging to glow green. She sculpts into the form of a snake before tossing at her opponent's direction as she tries to drain her energy.

"The spirits guide me, they--"

Not so fast.

Julia finds herself caught by Sophia's attack, leaving her reeling from whatever that was. It seems Julia may have bitten off more than she can chew dealing with a lamia. Still, the spirits burn within her, and she refuses to give up.

[SOPHIA]
It seems like Sophia's managed to counter Julia's spiritual energy with her own. Still, she doesn't want to burn herself out too fast and might have to get in close after all. While her opponent is caught off guard she swings her tail at her to try and hurt her further.

The spirits are with Julia.

She reacts with lightning speed as she knocks the tail away with her foot. "You've done well so far, but you must not let your guard down easily. Anything can happen!" She gets back into her fighting stance. "Be ready!" Julia then rushes at Sophia and attempts to strike her with a raised arm.

Julia's warning gives Sophia plenty of time to coil up so she's unable to grab onto her. She opens her mouth once before launching herself at Julia and attempting to bite her raised arm.

Being bitten by a snake is painful, but a lamia? That's even worse!

There's a sense of weakness within Julia as she feels the bite in her arm. She gasps and tries to focus on fighting instead of the pain, but it's not very easy. Nonetheless, Julia does attempt to try to keep things going by throwing an uppercut then spinning around and throwing another one in the same fluid motion.

Sophia's unable to duck underneath the uppercut and ends up getting punched in the chin twice for her trouble. She manages to brace herself against the ropes to keep her from falling over completely but it's pretty clear that hurt her. Her entire body glows green as she launches herself off the ropes and attempts to wrap herself around Julia rather tightly. If the lamia is successful, her opponent will literally feel the life being squeezed out of her.

Is this how it feels to be the meal of a boa constrictor? Or at least the last few moments before the poor creature becomes the meal?

Julia isn't about to find out, and she won't let it happen either. She tightens her muscles and grits her teeth as the snake wraps around her. After a few moments, Julia manages to get free, gasping for air and feeling like her body is trying to give out on her, but she shakes her head.

"No, I will continue this fight!" Julia says as she somehow makes her way onto the turnbuckle, even with all the pain going through her. Before the referee can start to count, Julia attempts to deliver a drop kick off the turnbuckle.

Sophia ends up getting booted in the face by Julia's drop kick and clutches her head in pain. She lets out a loud hiss and glares at her with her red eyes. In an act of desperation she attempts to coil her tail around Julia's leg and fling her out of the ring completely.

Julia's not about to get thrown out of the ring. She does drop to one knee, but she keeps herself from getting caught completely. She grits her teeth and glares at Sophia. "The spirits give me their strength, and they still provide me with power!" That is followed with Julia rushing towards Sophia and attempting to slap at her, then throw an uppercut which comes back down elbow first, and then backhand her. To top that off, she'll add in a shoulder charge.

Sophia wasn't able to get a solid grip on Julia and ends up getting smacked in the face once again. That's followed by several more blows to the head and getting slammed into. She's barely vertical at this point and attempts to grab Julia with her tail one more time and drag her down to the bottom of the ring wit her.

COMBATSYS: Sophia can no longer fight.

[JULIA]
As Sophia goes down, so does Julia, caught by the lamia's tail. They both hit the canvas, but somehow Julia still has just enough strength to crawl over to the lamia and pin her shoulders long enough for a three count.

After the referee declares Julia the winner, she forces herself back to her feet and takes a few deep breaths before looking upwards. "Thank you, spirits," She says before she steps out of the ring and heads backstage.

[SOPHIA]
Sophia will recover from the fight, but it's going to take sometime for her to heal. Especially she wasn't able to drain any life from Julia directly. She couldn't help to wonder what spirits that the woman worshipped but she would have to ask her another time when she's more coherent. For now it was time to sleep.
