Match of the Millennium

Description: Kazuki Kirigana and Birdie through down in one of the cafes in the Golden Angel Amusement Park. Property damage ensues.

[BIRDIE]
"'Ey is this stuff any good for me hair? Nobody seems to bloody know! I aint about to go messing with m'locks with some sort of gel that aint top of the line. Nothin' touches this hair that aint approved!"

Birdie's deep voice practically causes the poor interviewer to wobble backwards like a blade of grass caught in a windstorm as the immense brit turns what should have been a pre-match interview in Café Angel into a tirade about the product the entire tournament is all about promoting. The colossal man with impossible mohawk, looms over the interviewer while deftly spinning a pocket knife between thick fingers the size of oversized sausages. He's at least dressed for the water park though, wearing bright blue swim trunks with the Union Jack emblazoned upon them and ...nothing else aside from his leather jacket. Oh and chains.. Chains wrapped about his enormous wrists and connected to his trademark cuffs. It's an odd ensemble to be certain but at least he's trying to get into the spirit of things.

"Where's the bloke I'm supposed t'trash at anyway?? C'mon now, times wasting! Tth..all this just to boost my reputation.. I hope I'm not looking to silly 'ere.."

[KAZUKI]
Kazuki Kirigana never had much of a presence. He had, in fact, been there for the larger man's entrance. The young man was wearing his usual Gedo High uniform, complete with the demon-head emblazoned long coat and glad to be out of that stupid fundosho he had been made to wear in the previous fight. There was a wooden sword, sheathed and tucked through his belt as he pushed off of the wall he'd been leaning against. He steps forward as a referee scrambles to get into position. The young man frowns a bit, the music is... disturbingly frenetic for one Birdie's size.

"You may be a bit late for that," Kazuki says calmly as he draws the wooden weapon. He nods to the ref to signal that he is ready.

Birdie's faster then he looks and his mood seems to fit right in with the pace of the music that starts to rock and rumble through the café. As he see's Kazuki he begins striding forward while swinging his chain around in rapid whirling loops. His eyes hood a little bit as he considers the high schooler, "What's this now? A -kid-? Hmph, figures. I was hopin' to catch someone a little more important lookin'! And where's yer swim gear? Did I miss a memo..??"

The huge punk rocker suddenly lunges forward, bringing his chains up into the air with a rattle and ringing of metal and then back down again in a sweeping action to cover the distance between himself and Kazuki. "Don't matter, I suppose.." he concludes as his attack rockets out towards the young man.

Should the hit lands, the chains seek to wrap themselves around the student tightly and slam him to the ground while also dragging him forward towards Birdie's waiting and outstretched hand.

Kazuki pivots slightly, catching the chain on the end of his weapon. The jolt is fierce, riding up the weapon and into his arms. His hands and forearms burn as he struggles to maintain his grip on the weapon. Eventually, though, the young man wins out, lowering the point of his sword to allow the chains to slide off the weapon. "You are correct in that," Kazuki says.

Then the young man steps inside Birdie's reach, delivering a sharp thrust of the weapon at the larger man's chin.

"It does not really matter."

%ArHis lips pull back into a big grin that lasts but an instant as he suddenly drops his defensive block and lunges forward, leaning in with a massive hand to try and grasp for Kanzuki and yank him forward. His head comes surging forward like a boulder launched by a catapult, intending on slamming full force into Kanzuki's own - or torso considering their size differences.

[BIRDIE]
A snapping movement and a rustle of metal brings the massive chain links racing infront of Birdie only to tighten into a layered wall of metal just in time to prevent the stabbing action from getting in close to the big mans head.

"What sorta pokey nonsense is that? You're gonna have to do better then this if you wanna take me down, kid." rumbles Birdie's gravelly accented voice.

His lips pull back into a big grin that lasts but an instant as he suddenly drops his defensive block and lunges forward, leaning in with a massive hand to try and grasp for Kanzuki and yank him forward. His head comes surging forward like a boulder launched by a catapult, intending on slamming full force into Kanzuki's own - or torso considering their size differences.

Kazuki lets his right hand free of his weapon even as he brings it in to a ready position. The behemoth is already reaching for him. Kirigana calls to the wind as he grasps that forward wrist. The smaller man pulls down hard on the offerred limb even as he places a foot in front of Birdie's ankle to trip up the man.

He is, however, apparently not done there. Kazuki summons a brief but fierce burst of wind to knock the Shadaloo agent up into the air, tail over teakettle as the Brits might say. "Perhaps," Kazuki says almost amicably.

[BIRDIE]
"Whoullff!"

Birdie's tumble is enough to shake the entire café upon impact. What goes up, must come down after all and he comes down rather hard, flailing chains everywhere and causing some tables to up end from the rippling force of his impact. He's not down for the count but he -is- rather embarrassed now. His eyes are squinted for a few seconds but they hen quickly pop open, pupils shrunken and darkened by focus and anger. "Bit of a twerp aren't you?" he grumbles before rolling forward and back to his feet and then springing forward.

Again those blasted chains come swinging around, this time trying to wrap about Kazuki's waist and to snap the young man up into the air and then back down again - and then up and again in a criss crossing chain slam powerful enough to shake the building.

COMBATSYS: Birdie successfully hits Kazuki with Hanging Chain.

This time, it is Kazuki's turn to go for a ride. The young man slams to the ground with thunderous impact, and stays there for a moment. He takes a deep breath before standing back up and retaking his ready stance.

He steps to one side, sort of circling Birdie now that the man... had been kind enough to clear the two fighters some space. His head tilts to one side, then the other, as if trying to locate the source of a sound so that he can hear it just a little better...

COMBATSYS: Kazuki focuses on his next action.

"Don't think I'm gonna let up and go easy on you!" declares Birdie who comes barreling forward to try and continue to press what he perceives as the advantage. As he brings his chains back in towards one arm, his other arm comes swinging around and hurtling in towards Kazuki in an attempt to keep the pressure on.

COMBATSYS: Kazuki interrupts Medium Punch from Birdie with Syncopation.

Kazuki swivels, taking the punch on the shoulder. However, he rolls with the impact, and uses the momentum to bring his bokken across the big man's temple. There is a faint green glow as the weapon gains a little unexplainable momentum, hitting the big man harder than can really be explained by the one-armed swing. "I would not expect you to do otherwise," Kazuki says. "Both of us are here to fight, after all."

[BIRDIE]
When most people take a hit like that from Birdie, they stay down. This little firecracker is up again and Birdie can't help but be a little impressed. He's also managing to shrug off the little trash talking the brit is doing. A true fighter..and one that is more than able to hold his own as Birdie's punch attempt goes awry and the huge man earns himself another counter attack for it that manages to elicit a grimace and that causes the big guy to fall back again.

At least for a heartbeat. It's more of a feint as Birdie comes rushing in, charging across the fight arena and then literally seeming to slide forward in a blurring action that's so fast and powerful he leads with his chest and seems to drag his head and arms behind him. He emits a bullish rumbling grunt and then brings his head forward again, attempting to slam that boulder of a bald head forward into Kazuki like a fired cannonball.

Kazuki drops his sword for a moment, turning around as he does so. He listens, ducks a little, and reaches up for Birdie's head just as the larger man offers it. He grabs the back of Birdie's head, and one of his ears, and pitches forward. Once again, Kirigana calls to the wind, and between the pulling motion and the burst of wind that strikes Birdie from behind, he manages to throw the massive man clear across the room.

Kazuki picks up his sword, takes his stance, and eyes the big man warily. His breath is coming rapidly now, having taxed himself a bit more than he probably should have.

[BIRDIE]
This..suddenly stopped going the way Birdie had it planned out in his mind. The massive brit goes hurtling forward, carried by momentum and that supernatural blast of wind that ends up slamming him full power into the opposite wall and then rebounding him back down to the arena floor with an earth shaking impact that briefly dazes him and actually unseats some onlookers and knocks others to the ground themselves.

He goes into a tumble, rolling forward then back up again, eyes flashing with fury as he thunders, "Alright, you're better then I anticipated..but you're not gonna make a fool outta me, kid! Bloody HELL!"

As he finishes speaking, his muscles tighten and then bulk up visibly, straining at his jacket and hardening his flesh like marble as he gathers grit and digs in with his full weight. He then leaps once more, snapping his chains out in a wrapping lassoing movement as he brings his massive head down towards Kazuki once more in the start of a major assault--

COMBATSYS: Kazuki instinctively blocks Birdie's Skip To My Chain.

Kazuki's eyes widen as Birdie bulks up. That certainly cannot be good. He slips to one side, avoiding the chain, but not enough to dodge the headbutt. Kirigana staggers away, gasping for air. He can't see all that well either, his vision swimming. Birdie is nothing more than a large blur of mass and muscle.

He tries to listen for the big man, but his ears are also ringing. He scuffles away from the large man, trying to buy himself a moment to regain his bearings...

COMBATSYS: Kazuki gains composure.

[BIRDIE]
"Hey When you get an advantage you better take it!" Birdie's voice may seem to echo from everywhere at once given Kazuki's condition, but his location is soon apparent as his wall of flesh lurches into view, filling up the vision of his opponent.

"Har!" he oars, bringing both of his massive fists from down below, straight up in a double fisted arcing uppercut intending on lifting Kazuki off his feet - and then following this up with a double fisted hammerblow like smash to slam him down towards the ground once again.

For his own part he's battered and bruised, but a wild grin is on his expressive features, large lips pulled back into a thick grin and his impossible mohawk wildly flailing about with his actions but still retaining its trademark shape and 'hole' in the middle of it.

Kazuki takes the booken in both hands, holding the weapon across his body. He uses the weapon to literally stave off the uppercut before catching the hammer strike. He staggers back a moment, before finding his footing. His ears are still ringing, but his vision returns somewhat.

The young man dashes in, trying to slip around Birdie to get behind the man.

Kazuki then tries to leap onto Birdie's back and bring the bokken around the big man's neck to choke him out!

Still up?! Frustration creases Birdie's features along with the first hints of fatigue setting in as well. This is taking more out of him then he wanted as the hopes of bringing this to a quick end have long ago vanished. Still, he's got plenty fight in him and when the attempt to choke hold a seven foot, four hundred plus pound giant is made..needless to say he's ready for it by means of his chains and the advantage granted by his sheer size. The bokken finds no purchase against the giants meaty neck due to Birdie bringing his chains up to block the assault and rebound it back. He then spins, reaching behind him to try and grab hold of Kazuki, swing him around towards the front and then to the ground while Birdie's own immensity follows behind him, attempting to crush the young man to the ground. "Let's try this again, shall we?" rumbles the huge brit.

Avoiding the incoming attack is fairly simple; the young man releases his hold on one end of the weapon and drops quickly to the ground. He takes two, then three quick steps away from Birdie as his sword takes on a familiar green glow. Kirigana leaps back, sweeping the weapon in a wide arc.

A crescent shaped burst of wind slashes out at the big man, sharp enough to cut even metal!

COMBATSYS: Birdie endures Kazuki's Fugue.

[BIRDIE]
"Bloody 'ell!" shouts Birdie as one of his chain links snaps against the force of the blow. His weapon of choice can sustain a lot but its been rather weathered during this match and perhaps wasn't in the best of shape when he entered it. Either way it goes, Birdie sustains a good brunt of the assault but his body turns out to be tougher then then the metal he wields and his thick physique tightens up against the cutting strike just enough to keep him on his feet.

He sneers, quickly recovering his footing and bracing his gigantic body against the ground. Birdie has destroyed vault doors before by slamming his head into them in the depths of Shadoloo's training and such force is brought to bear once again as he comes charging in, intending on slamming into Kazuki and then lifting him skywards with the force of the impact. Should this happen, he follows it up with a leaping headbutt, his chains scattered and trailing behind him in the process.

COMBATSYS: Kazuki dodges Birdie's Bull Horn.

Kazuki spins aside, allowing Birdie to pass him by...

...but not before Kaz sticks a foot out to trip Birdie up. And by trip, one could mean kick with enough force to rip the monstrous man's leading leg out from under him. And if he manages that? Kirigana brings the bokken down on the bakc of the enforcer's neck with thunderous force!

COMBATSYS: Kazuki successfully hits Birdie with Combo Throw.

[BIRDIE]
Chains lash out as Birdie spins, attempting to regain his balance. His eyes roll up, fighting unconsciousness as he roars out, "Not..bloomin'..likely!" and brings the chains snapping up to try and wrap about Kazuki in one final attempt at regaining his dignity. He's going down but perhaps he can retain some clout, particularly within Shadoloo, by bringing this prodigy down with him. The chains may be broken but there are enough of them to let them do their job. Maybe. They are compromised after all.

The gesture is simple enough, if it wraps about Kazuki it will likewise upend him by his feet and send him flying up and then back down again, carried in part by Birdie's own momentum. As for Birdie, as soon as he hits the ground he's dazed and confused way to much to even see if his last ditch effort even hits.

COMBATSYS: Birdie can no longer fight.

Kazuki brings his sowrd around to catch the chain, like he did earlier in the match. Instead of getting it to wrap around the weapon, however, the mass of links still slams into his chest and knocks him off of his feet. Kazuki lands on his rear end, still gasping for air even as the referee calls the end of the match.

Once he stands up, however, the young man sheathes his weapon and gives the big man a short bow before heading back stage to have his injuries treated. One win, one loss. Not a great way for the preliminary round to go, but not a terrible way either.
