Streets of Cage: Episode 001 - Here's Johnny!

As the opening credits to this epic reality show that's being broadcast on the Fight! Network, the prestigious style of JOHNNY CAGE shows up on screen looking like at least a quarter of a million bucks. He's got his jeans on and a pair of boots he wore in FistiKuffs for those that may be paying close attention. He's got on a white t-shirt and a clean as fuuuu- leather jacket that only makes him look as cool as he should. His hair's been recently styled, thanks to the wardrobe and make up people off to the side and Johnny Cage is wearing one of his many pairs of too expensive for words sunglasses.

Johnny steps right up into the camera and stares down the lens. "You've seen my movies. You've seen me kick so much ass you can taste it. Now? Watch me do one of the hardest things I've ever had to do..."

The camera pulls back to reveal that Johnny Cage is standing on the streets of Los Angeles, surrounded by fans and people that don't know him from a box of bricks.

"Live." Johnny grins and pulls off his sunglasses for a moment.

"I'm Johnny, Sexy And I Know It, Cage and welcome to Streets! Of! Cage!"

Johnny turns back away from the camera, puts his sunglasses back on and starts off down the street. Giving the camera people time to get a shot of the 'Star' he was standing on... and that it belonged to him.

Johnny's handlers had lined up some scrub for Cage to fight. They never told him this; after all the fights needed to be believable without endangering the brand. The plan, however, went quickly awry. The fighter, a local from a nearby boxing gym, could not be found. Anywhere.

This was, of course, by design as well.

Instead, some man comes walking up to Cage wearing a hoodie and track pants. He gets right up in Cage's face without prompting from the stage crews, and some of the people behind the cameras are looking at one another confusedly. This guy was clearly built all wrong to be who was expected. The man leans in close, to whisper in Cage's ear.

"You are nothing but a fake," Eiji whispers. "And I will prove it to all of your foolish fans."

"..."

See, there a few things that get on Johnny Cage's nerves. Okay, to be honest, there's only really one thing. And it's being called a fake, fraud, etc. Any of those things are what make Johnny Cage actually upset. He's a Hollywood Superstar and Celebrity. He knows all about the price of fame and judgmental people and has taking to owning all of the critiques of him and his movies. It all comes down with a grain of salt.

Except for stuff like this.

Johnny Cage puts on a forced smile and takes a step backwards. "Excuse me?" Cage turns to look over his shoulder at the crew that's following him around and even into the camera for a moment. All before turning his attention back to the Cage Whisperer with a cocking of his head to the side. "You wanna' run that by me, one more time, sport?"

Johnny Cage is putting some distance between him and this dude that was all up in his personal space. Y'know, just in case this was part of the 'intro' bit. He really should read the scripts sometime. Or at least the outline!

Eiji follows Johnny's moves, keeping the distance close. Intimate. "I think you heard me the first time," Eiji purrs, right before he snaps a quick punch right at Johnny's nose. He stays right in Johnny's personal space as he does so.

"Faker," he repeats, slightly louder this time.

Johny Cage is in the middle of trying to figure out why this dude wants to be all up in his personal space. It's really awkward but it might be making for good television so he's just going to roll with it.

When that punch comes swinging for his face, Cage brings an arm up, closed fist and everything, catching the punch on his forearm and tanking the pain that rolls into his arm. He turns his head slowly towards his opponent and smirks, "That's what I thought you said."

Using his free hand, Johnny reaches up to pull his sunglasses off his face. "Big mistake." is warned before he steps backwards, giving himself some space to spin around, aiming the back of his fist right for Eiji's face with the quickness.

Meanwhile, he uses his other hand to toss his sunglasses to a random fangirl that's off to the side. Or she could be a film crew plant. Who knows with Johnny Cage.

Eiji ducks the punch, smirking under the hood as he does so. Krauser probably gave him this assignment to amuse the ninja for once. "That," Eiji says almost conversationally as he snaps a swift punch in Johnny's solar plexus, "Remains to be seen."

The punch is a set-up, as the ninja surges up and forward to grab Cage by the throat!

Once the grab is made, Kisaragi jumps skyward taking Cage with him. The two men spin a lazy circle... right before Eiji slams the man to the pavement. The ninja lands lightly.

"Get up," Eiji says with scorn. "Neither of us are done yet."

Johnny Cage is in the middle of whiffing when he realizes that this may be a little off for his first episode. He should've One-Hit this dude but things don't work out that way. When that hit comes for his solar-plexus, he's already ducking to try and get out of the way... which puts his throat right in Eiji's hand. He barely has time to struggle and has no time to get free before the two of them are airborne. The spin woozes Cage up but the slam into the pavement creates pain all through Johnny's sexy body. The leather jacket takes some of the impact but not much.

Johnny pushes up to a kneeling position, complete with a fist touching the pavement. He actually smirks, even though there's pain coursing through his body right now. He looks up at the hooded challenger and grins. "Smartest thing you've said all day." And, as if on cue, his legs start to glow as he lifts up and flips backwards, aiming his chi-infused feet towards the underside of Eiji's chin with some backflip style points attached.

If you're gonna' kick some ass, make it look good.

Eiji catches the kick in one hand, shoving it away to allow Johnny his grandstanding. He shakes the hand loose, smoke coming off of the palm as he does so. That stung, just a bit.

He resumes his advance towards Johnny Cage, his bearing confident. Almost cocky. Some might read some mockery in it, as if he is imitating Cage's swagger. The ninja then drives a fist right into Cage's liver!

Cage is trying to show off and it's not going according to his quick and improvisational plans. He's brought the chi out early to get some of the fans paying more attention. Not to mention he's trying to get some girls to scream. He always fights better when girls are screaming. Also, ratings. This first episode needs to hit as hard as he does.

The moment he's back in control of his own feet, he slides right into a clever and protective stance. He figures an attack is headed in his direction. He's not sure what kind but he looks like he's on the defensive. A hand swings down in a Wax On, Wax Off motion to stop that fist from connecting with his liver. His hand tingles from the impact but he still manages to drop some quipping, "Often imitated..."

Cage reaches to grab at Eiji's wrist and pull him closer. "Never Duplicated, baby." He winks and steps back to see if he can snap Eiji's elbow. If that works, he's going straight for the ankle to snap his knee, as well. If he's fast enough, he aims for a final palm strike aimed right for Eiji's ribs to send him backwards and away from Cage's Screen Time.

Eiji dances back half a step, the amusement clear in his bearing as Johnny grabs nothing but air. Then the ninja leans forward a little bit, his hands low at his sides. "And easily avoided, apparently," Eiji murmurs.

Then the man blurs forward swiping an empty hand at Cage's flank. Orange ki flows out looking like nothing more than a blade as the weapon screams for Cage's midsection!

Johnny Cage is not on the top of his game. He can't let this hooded interloper get to him. Not when there are fans watching and this is being recorded. There's going to be a crapload of people watching this at some point and he has to make sure he puts on a good show. Which gives him the perfect idea for a response quip, "Just trying to make you look good. God knows you need the help."

Cage sidesteps out of the way of that ki blade and glows up with some fancified green. There's only a moment where he doesn't look like he's moving and then he is, one leg outstretched and the other straight. The energy from the chi-trail of Johnny Cage after-images pushing him across the pavement and in the direction of Eiji! Time to put the boots to chest!

Eiji sees the move coming, and rolls away from the kick well before it connects. When he rises to his feet, the ninja has his hands in his pockets looking relaxed. Clearly, Inverse Ninja Law is in full effect here.

Eiji tilts his head to one side, looking at Cage critically. "I think I accomplish that all on my own," he says with scornful cheer. He's waiting for Johnny to make his next move.

Cage whiffs with those Shadow Feet once again but manages to come out of it with style. He rolls his eyes a little bit and turns back around to face the one that's been getting out of the way of everything he's been throwing at him.

Wait. That's it. He /hasn't/ been throwing things.

Johnny keeps his distance and seems almost like he's about to go bowling with the way he swings one hand up after another, green chi-balls glowing up and sailing off in Eiji's direction.

"Here. Take two of these and I'll call your mom in the morning!" There wasn't a lot in that quip but he didn't have much to work with! He's just throwing chi, dammit!

Eiji pulls his hands out of his pockets, both hands reaching over his right shoulder as if to grab something, Perhaps unsheathing a blade... that most certainly is not there.

Eiji swings with that two-handed grip motion, a ripple of chi erupting from his hands that slams into both projectiles. Chi wraps around the spheres for a moment, before hurling them back directly at Johnny.

"No, thank you," Eiji says as the ninja straightens up.

Johnny Cage is in the midst of looking as though he's just won the lottery. He's got a big grin on his face because it's part of this whole quipping for kicks thing. He's not ready for some invisible chi-blade wrapping and hurling of his own energy back at him. He even makes one of those stupid: 'oh shit' looks when both of them smack him dead in his tattoo'd chest. He goes sailing backwards and smacks hard into the pavement, rolling and staying on the ground long enough to look down at his jacket and shirt, seeing that they've been burned through to reveal that same tattoo that was mentioned earlier. Some of it, anyway.

Johnny slams his fist into the ground, takes a moment to ow and then he's back up on his feet. "Gettin' tired of your shit, man." While wondering where the hell his team found this jerk, he's rushing at him and aiming a swift kick right at Eiji! He's not even aiming, really. He's just trying to kick this dude in the anywhere!

One of Johnny's staff finds the poor schlub bound and gagged in one of the less-used dressing rooms. The man is fine, just now waking up from the drugs used to sedate him.

Meanwhile, Eiji hops back lightly to avoid the kick. "Cry some more," he says as he lashes out with a kick of his own. There's a faint glow of orange ki around the foot as he stomps /hard/ at Cage's sternum with enough force to knock the wind out of Cage's sails!

Johnny Cage is getting angrier which is probably not a good thing when it comes to trying to fight. Although, his acting ability manages to keep it looking like he's taking everything in stride. Clearly, this is something that he can handle. This is exactly the way he wanted things to go. This is how he does his thing.

When that kick comes at him, Johnny spins out of the way and drops low to the ground. He keeps his eyes on Eiji though as he comes up, bringing a powerful fist towards Eiji for one of his Klassic Uppercuts!

Eiji overextended on that kick. The ninja knew it when he threw it, but the recovery time was a bit too much. The uppercut catches him squarely, and Cage can feel the impact through his arms.

It speaks to the force of the strike that instead of the 'landing lightly on the balls of his feet' thing he has been done normally, Eiji lands in a heavy crouch. His eyes narrow under the hood. Eiji straightens up then launches himself skyward.

Then, out of nowhere, the ninja dives hard at Cage, one foot extended and glowing and aimed right at Johnny's face!

Johnny's celebrating with a moment of playing up things to the damn crowd. He's ignoring as they warn him that Eiji's not down yet. Of course, Johnny Cage would think that one solid Upperkut was all it took to take this dude down. But alas, he's not even ready when he turns around to see nothing but a glowing foot aimed straight for his face!

The impact is loud and painful and there might even be some chi-sparks flying, along with the blood from his face! Johnny crashes into the ground and scrambles backwards as quickly as he can. It's an adrenaline move that gets him moving again that fast.

Johnny pushes up to his feet and launches off the ground towards Eiji. He's aiming to lock his legs around him in a scissor grab and /squeeze/ tightly. All the while he's busting out a sharpie and attempting to autograph the ninja's chest with his fateful phrase...

Eiji leans in, his arms glowing with power as he swipes both hands in horizontal motions. Chi washes off of those open hands, catching Johnny cleanly and forcing the Hollywood Star away from him.

Eiji hops back, waggling the index finger of his right hand even as the chi wafts away. "Is this all that you have," Eiji says mockingly, "Or are you just your script and your worthless style?"

Johnny does not like being made a fool of. When he watches his latest attempt to make some headway go down without a trace... he just sort of gets fueled by even more anger. He's not having the ball he was supposed to on his debut episode! There might not even be a show if he doesn't step his game up.

"I'm just warmin' up, glowstick." Granted, he was doing some glowing too but it just doesn't excuse the fact that this dude has been making him look like chump this entire time. Not good.

Johnny just hauls off and aims for a high angled punch at this ninja's face. He's getting real tired of these snarky ass comments and thinks a Cage Flavored Knuckle Sandwich might be the best way to go right now.

Eiji's hand snaps up to deflect Johnny's incoming punch with ease. "Just now," Eiji asks as he twists his wrist to try and grab the outstrecthed arm. The plan: grab the arm, pull Cage in for an elbow strike, follow it up with a hip toss.

The twist will be the follow-up ki blast to launch Cage while the man is in the middle of his arc to launch him down the sidewalk. "You will have to do better," Eiji warns.

Johnny Cage is not having a good fight. Not in front of all his fans. And all his cameras. This may end up being one of those things that floats around on the internet and he may have to film himself getting a better fight under his belt.

Johnny tries to slip out of the grab but it doesn't work that easy. He's about to go down into his signature splits when he gets yanked right back up and into Rek Range. The elbow strike dazes him, blood flying out of his mouth and he doesn't even know he's being tossed by way of Hip Airlines. Cage is practically oblivious to the ki blast that overtakes his body and burns him into the sidewalk as if he were nothing more than an ant beneath a magnifying glass.

When the movements are done. When all is said and done. Johnny Cage is not moving. He's breathing. But he's not moving.

"... annnnnnd cut! Beautiful!" The Director comes out from behind the cameraman and starts waving his hands around, rolled up script and all. "That was amazing! Beautiful, baby! Loved it!"

[EIJI]
Eiji snorts. "Apparently that is all you were," he mutters. Small pellets drop at his feet issuing forth a disportionately large cloud of smoke that obscures the area.

When the smoke finally clears, Eiji is gone, the invitation to the World Warrior tournament still in his pocket.
