Match of the Millennium

Description: It has become apparent to Munin that she has been used by HitBit to further their goals. With the HitBit organization withdrawing back into Southtown, Munin and her sister Hugin get a lead on HitBit. They get word that the tournament was infiltrated in a single team. That a ninja from the Beautiful Girls Team has the information they need on the HitBit schemes. A seductive, enchanting ninja, with an all too lethal edge, working for a secret organization. Unfortunately for Mai, it seems that there is some confusion on which beautiful girl they want...

[MAI]
Mai Shiranui has been up to precious little since the Beautiful Girls' Team was eliminated from the King of Fighters. For a "freelance ninja" Mai does not always engage in the sort of work one might expect of ninja, at least, not with the regularity that one might expect. In some ways, this might be fortunate since it's kept her out of the increasingly dire trouble centered around Japan following the condemnation of Violet Systems' research by the United Nations.

This particular evening she is making her way back from a small convenience store with two bags full of groceries. She is dressed in a red tank top and grey shorts, as it is still quite warm even in September here. She has a bottle of coconut water open and occasionally takes a drink as she walks, her bags wrapped around her arms to keep her hand free. She has not been engaging in espionage, or attempting to assassinate anyone. In fact, Mai's only bit of excitement this past week was forcefully educating a mugger who happened to pick the wrong target one evening.

HOWEVER

There are reports of a particularly busty Japanese ninja who /has/ been up to no good. Likewise she did compete in the King of Fighters, and how many people could possibly fit that description? It has to be Mai Shiranui, right? Right?

[MUNIN]
Unfortunately, Mai has a VERY good reputation for being one of the bustiest as ninjas go.

She also just happened to draw the short straw by coincidence, in the chain of her teammates.

As she makes her way down the sidewalk, a voice comes from an ally directly to her right "Mai Shiranui?".

Looking over, a woman stands with her back against the wall in the entrance to the allyway. Her hoodie is pulled up over her head, shrouding her face in darkness. However, within that darkness are a pair of glowing violet eyes, staaaaaaaaaring at Mai "Word is HitBit has a lovely ninja in their employ..... beautiful, busty, seductive...... and a member of the Beautiful Girls Kay Oh Eff team". The eyes pulse brighter for a moment as the figure pushes off the wall to go from leaning to standing, slowly approaching Mai "You top the list of suspects, so i'm here to get whatever information you may have, one way....." a mist of dark shadowy black/violet energy begins to drift off her form, coalescing more deeply around her hands ".... or the other."

[HUGIN]
Perched on the rim of a fire escape above the alley is the vigilante known as the White Raven. Well, would be known as if that particular vigilante was more known inside of Japan rather than Northern Europe. It's hard to tell anything about them, dressed head to toe in black motorcycle leathers with a full helmet with tinted visor keeping their face hidden. Only the white wing decorations on the helmet and jacket make any form of distinction on them.

Whoever they are, they look monumentally bored, even unable to see their face, they just scream it in their posture. Though their head is turned towards Mai and Munin, head resting in the palm of their gloved hand. Probably not wholly interested in being here.

They do speak up, but the voice comes out tinny and modulated, disquising anything particular about it just the way the outfit does to their form. "I suggest you cooperate. You may be good, but you're outnumbered." They reach behind them on to the fire escape, picking up a large round shield, shoving their arm through the loops. "So, easy or hard?"

[MAI]
Mai does not immediately turn to look at the sound of the voice. Instead, she side-eyes the newcomer while sipping on her coconut water. "Can I help you?" Mai asks, only then turning to look. "HitBit...isn't that Violet Systems' little fitness gadget?" she asks before screwing the cap back on the bottle. She drops the bottle into one of her bags. When Munin explains her purpose, Mai crinkles her nose.

"So what? I tell you what I know, or you're going to beat me up?" Mai huffs. She backsteps, sliding her bags onto one arm. Her other hand goes down her cleavage then re-emerges with a folded paper (?) fan. "I suddenly think I don't feel like talking," she says, glancing back up at the second newcomer in the motorcycle leathers. "What's your interest in HitBit, anyway? Are you some kind of corporate spies?"

The glowing eyes narrow at Mais response "Someone Violet systems used as a guinea pig and plans to see them burn for it". She moves towards Mai in a fighting stance ".... then i guess it's 'or else'. I'll be nice and let you safely put your groceries down. No sense ruining good food rightly paid for... unless of course you've changed your mind". Those eyes pulse again "Last chance".

"I don't rightly care, I'm just moral support." The White Raven kicks it's legs a little, still keeping their perch above the other two. They let out a little sigh, which sounds more like the fritzing of static through the modulation. "So polite."

With a quick kick of their feet, White Raven falls from their perch and lands with a somewhat loud thud on the concrete, one knee down. They stand up straight, shifting their weight to one leg, free hand on their hip and shielded arm at their side. Still holding a mildly bored stance.

"So, I guess hard. Pain in the ass."

Mai crinkles her nose again. "Well, I don't think attacking random people is a way to do that," she says, pointing accusingly with her fan. "But if you're aching for a fight," Mai spins, her top and shorts somehow fluttering off as she her kunoichi uniform unfurls from underneath.

"Then I'll certainly oblige!" The fan snaps out of her hand, unfolding into a spinning, frisbee-like projectile that whizzes toward Munin. Almost as soon as it's gone, Mai has fished a second one out of her top. "Don't underestimate Shiranui-ryu ninjutsu! Or Japan's Most Beautiful Woman!"

Munin has never really watched Mai fight. There wasn't time to do TOO much research. The quick change, however, takes her a bit off guard, and the speed with which Mai attacks takes full advantage of this.

The first one takes Munin in the shoulder, stunning her, lining her up for the second to impact her head, sending her flying back! She shoulder-rolls to recover, skidding to a stop as she zeroes in on Mai! Best to take her time, keep a good eye on her, and try to predict her movements with the speed she possesses.

"Oh! Quick costume change, needs more sparkle, really magic girl it.." The rest of what White Raven is about to say is cut off as Mai launches into her first attack. Sure it's not directed at them, but they take the time to move into a more battle appropriate position and stance. They back off a few feet, bringing their shield up into a defensive posture. "Rude."

They swing their arm behind them, a spear of blinding white chi forming in their gloved hand. While Mai is focused on Munin initially, White Raven decides to attack from the other side. They fling the chi spear overhead, letting go of it at the peak of its arc, sending the chi weapon hurtling through the air towards the ninja.

Mai's step is springy. Bouncy, even. She shifts to her over foot, kicking off her tennis shoes to reveal the ninja tabi underneath. Her smile is confident; arrogant, even.

But she purses her lips, turning her attention toward the White Raven. "I'm not the one starting fights over here," Mai says, pouting. But she doesn't have time to dwell before a white chi spear flies toward her. The kunoichi snaps to the side, leaning down and right to let the spear fly past her head. "Or throwing spears at people!" Mai kicks out of her dodge into a low sprint, dashing in toward the White Raven and sliding into a low kick, from which she flips into a second backflipping kick. Her tabbard swings behind her, the back of Mai's outfit blowing up in the swift motion.

"And what? Would you prefer a smokebomb, maybe? Sparkles aren't for ninja!"

Watching Mai move, Munin abruptly points an outstretched hand at her, sending a 'whip' of dark shadowy chi her way! If she can successfully wrap it around Mai, she hopes it'll immobilize her enough to move in on for a followup attack!

[HUGIN]
"I didn't start it, she did." White Raven jerks their chin towards Munin. "And it's sparkles or nothing." As Mai moves in, White Raven raises their shield.. for a low attack.. the they didn't see coming because they were too busy talking about sparkles. They take the two blows, sending them skidding back a foot or two.

"Oh, now it's on!" The vigilante launches themselves forward towards Mai rather than putting some distance between them after the exchange. White Raven lifts their arm with the shield, hacking at Mai with the edge of the shield like an axe.

Mai is still looking at the White Raven when Munin whips at her with shadow chi. She backsteps, but not quickly enough, and soon finds herself entangled in a shroud of darkness. The tendril of shadow certainly put a nasty squeeze on Mai, causing her to gasp as the pressure's applied.

And then a vigilante is charging her with a shield, even as Mai is still entangled from the first attack. Even so the kunoichi leaps, launching herself upward to vault up and onto the shield. She lands on it briefly in a crouch before sticking her tongue out.

"Light and darkness, huh? Do you always travel in pairs?" Mai asks, then kicks off the shield again. This time she tries to launch up and over, aiming to fly over Munin and, after regaining her footing, swing the other woman around and into a nearby wall using that same tendril she's bound by.

No response comes from Munin, as Mai sends her flying!

An expected tactic, and one Munin is ready for!

As she flies towards the wall, she manuevers and braces herself, landing legs first! Pushing off, she leaps up and over Mai, a lance of dark violet chi emitted from her fist swinging down at the kunoichi from above! Landing quickly next to Mai, Munin makes a broad swing at Mai again with that same chi-lance!

There's a staticy growl from White Raven as the ninja lands on their shield. "What can I say, it's aesthetics, like sparkles." Someone is really stuck on sparkles. "Now off my shield!" Hugin is about to shift to topple the ninja off right before she jumps away.

Another chi-spear forms in the Raven's hands. Without even seeming to hesitate, they move right into the assault being launched by Munin. They go into a spin, holding the spear at full extention, first licking low, then high. A bright reflection of the dark lance being weilded by the other ambusher.

Mai frowns when Munin slips out of being slammed into the wall. It does, at least, give her enough of an edge to slip out of her binding at least, but this happens to be a bit too little that comes too late.

Suddenly the Raven is upon her, slashing at Mai with a low swipe, then a high one. Both cut Mai deeply, stagginer the kunoichi as the blades slice into her already thin uniform and draw blood. Before she can recoup, Munin's katar-like blade catches her in the shoulder, digging in and drawing out a second yelp of pain. The ambient temperature seems to increase gradually with each swipe. The broad swing is a bit slower, and Mai capitalizes on that. Her fan slaps against it. blocking the impact even if it pushes Mai hard into the wall.

Shiranui breathes heavily, her chest rising and falling as she tries to recover. "You're both so serious about this--" Mai shifts her fan. "But don't think I'll take this kind of punishment lying down!"

The kunoichi snaps her fan into her teeth, thereby freeing up her hands for a series of intricate hand-signs. As she finishes them chi swells up, Mai focusing her deep reservoir of energy into something much more strongly manifested than a slight increase in temperature. Fire billows up all around her, erupting in a pillar of flame so intense that it blows her tabbard up with the backdraft.

"Kagerou no mai!!"

At the last minute, as Mai's flaming pillar erupts from her body, Munin throws her arms up in a vain attempt to defend against it!

The backblast is too strong, and she is sent flying backwards into one of the trees that dot the entire park!

Taking a gamble as she recovers, and figuring Mai may be drained and vulnerable after such a display of power, Munin once more moves into the breach!

Coming in from the side opposite Hugin, she throws a pair of punches, follows up with a kick, and finishes with a wrist throw with an arm twist!

[HUGIN]
White Raven holds up their shield to shield their eyes from the blazing fires. They lower it a little only to bring it right back up again. "Oh good god, lady. Wear some pants, I can see your butt." But the shield is starting to glow just a little bit, bright light casting off the metal surface.

As soon as Munin launches into the breach, the White Raven follows suit from the opposite side, charging in with the glowing shield taking the lead. There's a staticy battle cry, as they launch into the headlong charge, glowing shield on a collision course with the ninja to sandwich her between the two attacks.

"Well then stop looking!" Mai argues as the tabbard drops back down over her butt. At least mostly over her butt. It's not exactly the most thorough covering, especially with her figure. The flames are still subsiding into embers as Munin comes in, but Mai is not as exhausted as she one might expect.

Instead, the ninja parries, striking against Munin's punch with a forearm block. The snaps at the other one with her fan, pushing it away as well. Sidestepping the kick, Mai vaults off the wall and goes over Munin entirely.

But then the Raven is barreling at her with the shield charge. Mai suddenly leaps back, letting the vigilante pass by her. ..but she doesn't wait for her to finish her charge, instead spinning to a kick that tries to plant the flat of her ninja tabi against the White Raven's back and send her crashing on toward Munin!

"Shouldn't you be going after someone who actually works for Violet Systems if you're out for their blood?"

As Mai attacks White Raven, Munin comes from behind her counterpart "Tried asking. You declined". Abruptly, she splits into a pair of identical Munins, one going around Hugin to the left and attacking with a high kick, the other to the right and attacking with a low sweep!

In this case, the attack from the left is a chi illusion, that vanishes either on hit, or on BEING hit with no damge done. The REAL Munin comes in with the low attack, hoping to put Mai off balance and manuever her into a more advantagous position for the pair to deal with!

[HUGIN]
The White Raven is a little quicker on the uptake this time, shifting the location of theri shield quickly enough that the kick bangs off the metal shield rather than their tender backside. Though the hit is still jarring enough to cause them to grit their teeth. Not that anyone could see that at the moment. "But you're so bouncy, it's hard not to look."

"It's like watching jell-o in an earthquake." And it's not totally clear whether that's meant to be a compliment or an insult. And the tinny voice modulator just makes the tone all that harder to read.

The shield suddenly shifts away as the Raven shifts on their feet, one boot clad foot lashing out in a straight kick right towards the ninja's midsection, turning Munin's two prong assault into a three prong.

"I'm not sure I'd call 'talk or else' asking!" Mai huffs. She steps back away when Munin splits into doubles, with Mai watching both of them advance. "Urgh...not this again..." she grumbles, but not without taking action of her own.

Mai blocks high against the first, blocking with her fan only for the clone to disappear. Fortunately for Mai, she steps into this block, meaning that when the real Munin comes in for the kick she has enough distance to step off of it and redirect the blow away from herself.

And just in time, as the White Raven is soon launching a kick toward Mai! The kunoichi leans back, amplifying the aforementioned bouncing as she bobs out of the way of the kick.

"Why is people's obsession with jello?!" she protests, "And bouncehouses!" Mai huffs once more, spinning away from the vigilante.

Except her tabbard whips back around behind her, swinging at her assailant as it ignites with chi flame and threatens to smack into her using the chi as well as the heavy ball at the end.

Munin squelches a laugh at the 'Jell-o in an earthquake' comment.....

She can't help but admit it ISN'T entirely wrong! Poor Mai.....

Still, she is starting to really feel the drain on her reserves..... this needs to be ended soon..... "I asked that way cause im not playin around....."

With a burst of power and speed, Munin splits into four illusions of herself, all of which rush at Mai at high speed, attacking with chi-strikes, palm strikes, kicks, and punches! Unlike the previous one, THESE actually hurt for real if they connect! After a strike or two each, they vanish, revealing the real Munin once more among their numbers.

[HUGIN]
The Raven takes it on the chin, like a man.. or a woman. It's still really hard to tell, even as the chi infused tabard ball smacks them across the helmet with a crack of plastic. Even as they're realing from the blow a chi spear is forming in their hand again, taking the blow to stay in close. Someone is gutsy, or stupid.

When they turn their head back towards Mai, a piece of the visor is cracked off, revealing just a little of the person underneath, one lilac colored eye staring out from the helmet. "Damn it, I liked this helmet." Seems the voice modulator is unbroken however.

They spin the spear in their hand, as chi begins to leak off of them in waves, streams of light smoke coming off of their form. And then they stab with the spear towards Mai, not only trying to get her with the attack, but pin some piece of clothing.. or maybe a foot, to the ground.

The flurry of chi strikes leaves Mai with no choice but to go on the defensive. She drops into a guarded stance, using her forearms to try and whether the flurry of high-speed blows. Even with multiple Munins, Mai does a respectable job of guarding--despite being backed into a corner by the assault.

And before she can recover, The Raven is barreling down on her with a fully charged chi spear. The flurry of strikes hits Mai in several places, punching into her skin before stabbing through the back of her tabbard and pinning it to the wall behind her.

"Hey!" she protests, "this outfit is hard enough to keep on as it is!"

But even as she talks, chi flares up around her again. This time Mai snaps out with a fan again--which swiftly ignites as it passes through her hands and toward Munin! Another fan follows, also on fire...and then another, the last one chasing in barely a few seconds after the first two. Bouncehouse or not, Mai does seem to have a lot of storage space in there ...

Unfortunately for Munin, she's stunned for just a moment as Mai throws her fans! It capitalizes perfectly on the small womans opening, bathing her in flame as well as fan impacts!

Her hoodie, while still intact, is scorched and has holes in places, revealing a damaged T-shirt beneath, and her breath comes in gasps from both pain and mounting exhaustion......

[HUGIN]
The White Raven on the otherhand is still steaming with chi, the wisps of light spreading down to their shield. "Then wear more clothes." They take a moment to pound on their chest, the sharp thwack of leather on leather punctuating their words.

Even before Mai is done throwing that last fan at Munin, the vigilante is on the move, their shield now glowing like a small sun in their hand. As they near Mai, they crouch down, bringing the shield up between themself and the ninja. "Jiggle your way out of this."

And then launches upwards in a spinning shield uppercut of glowing white flames, hoping to carry Mai with them. And should they manage to do so, at the apex of the rise, the Raven performs a bit of midair acrobatics to spin and spike the busty ninja back down towards the ground, just as the shout echoes out, "SPIKES!"

[MUNIN]
Violet eyes pulse brightly for a moment as Munin focuses, causing the shadows on the ground beneath the pair to deepen.....

With an upward motion of her arms, Munin causes several 'spikes' of shadowy chi to burst from the ground for their target to potentially land on! They are spaced far enough apart to not risk killing, but will still do decent damange!

After a few moments, hit or miss, the chi fades away and the lighting returns to normal.

"I'll have you know this is the traditional uniform of the Shiranui Clan!" Mai interjects in protest. But before she can say more, Hugin is barreling down on her with a powerful uppercut. The shield strike launches Mai straight up like a rocket. With a heavy clank, she slams into Mai from above, driving her back down toward the spikes. "Aieee!" Mai bellows, but she doesn't go down /entirely/ without a fight.

Instead, Mai spins around, igniting into a fireball as she crashes down toward the spikes. She slams into them with a great conflagration, threatening to smash into Munin on impact!

But whatever the case, Mai, beaten and cut, is sprawled out cold by the time the flames subside. It may take a little time before she can be questioned properly.

COMBATSYS: Mai can no longer fight.

Narrowing her eyes, Munin sees a small opening in Mais trajectory, and decides best to go for it!

Unfortunately, she is COMPLETELY off, misjudging the positioning due to the heat distortion!

She is impacted fully by Mais flaming attack, and is also unconscious when the dust clears, singed and bleeding, but alive.

[HUGIN]
The White Raven lands back on the ground, the chi-flames engulfing them slowly evaporating back into mist as they take a moment to survey the wreckage all around them. "Well, hell." They look back and forth between the two unconcious women then back at the alley.

"Typical. I get stuck with all the hard work while everyone else naps." They move the shiled off their arm and back onto their back with a heavy sigh of annoyance that comes out like burst of static. A crack of the knuckles and the vigilante makes to pull their unconcious prize, and unconcious partner back into the alleyway where they can wait until everyone is awake for a good long questioning.

"Now where did I leave those ropes? Oh crap.. used that up on the burglars last night." Snap. "Duct tape, I got duct tape." They look at the unconcious Mai. "It'll sting coming off, but that'll teach yeah to actually wear something."
