KOF 2017 - Mission 11a) At The Mouth of Madness

[Toggle Names]

Description: In Thailand, Faolan has discovered that the remains of fighters from the Mortal Kombat tournament were scheduled to be sent to the Southpoint Canine Lab. Reaching out to the private industry on specialists, the Ikari Warrior heads to the recently abandoned laboratory with professional hero Robert Richards and expert monster hunter Zach Glenn in tow. As Zach descends into the depths, Faolan and Bob secure the topside, investigating the aboveground premises. Spared from the real horrors of the lab, they encounter their own challenges when Sergei and his team arrive on behalf of the United Nations, under orders to cover up the experimentation center's existence and eliminate all evidence. Can our investigative team fend off the dangers within... and those on the outside-

[BOB]
Despite being an elite mercenary unit, the Ikari Warriors are not a large group. In fact, it mostly operates on a small core of elite fighters to handle the most dangerous missions available. Their reputation certainly precedes them, and one Ikari is more than able to handle most contracts. This situation, however, is specially dangerous. With Ralf, Clark, and the others occupied, Heidern drew upon his extensive intelligence network to recruit reliable freelancers to assist Faolan in the next stage of his investigation. One of the freelance agent in question? Robert Richards, former karate champion and current private investigator, bounty hunter, and "professional hero." (At least, that's what his business card says.)

obert Richards, or Bob (as he prefers), rendezvous with Faolan outside the facility. First appearances are...dubious at best. Bob is a certainly a large man who stands 6'5. This wouldn't be a problem, of course, were it not for the fact that he is almost that wide as well. The blond PI easily weighs in at least 300 pounds, but lacks the well-defined musculature of someone like Clark or Ralf. In other words? He's quite fat.

Even so, his reputation precedes him, according to Heidern, and he seems friendly enough. Somehow, by the time Faolan arrives, Bob has commandeered one of the transport trucks. The unconscious crew--a driver and a security guard riding shotgun--have been knocked unconscious and are tied up in the back. One is stripped to his underwear, with his uniform neatly folded and waiting. ...one might assume it's not Bob's size.

[FAOLAN]
Faolan got a good briefing before being deployed. He knows there will be someone looking to infiltrate the inside of the facility while Faolan and Bob will be the distraction up top and take care of any sort of trouble that decides to show up. The Ikari was dropped off by helicopter and he quickly moves forward to the rendezvous location.

The Ikari is a bit shorter than bob, but far less wide. Though it doesn't seem like Faolan is too bothered by the appearance. Heidern doesn't hire people that aren't skilled. If Bob is good enough for the boss he is good enough for Faolan. "We ready to have a party?" He asks and he looks to the pile of clothes. They are more likely to fit the Ikari at least and after some fussing about it looks like it is just a bit tight in places here and there.

"Get in the back. We'll be there before you know it." he tells his heavy set partner in crime and he gets into the driver's seat. Hmm. Maybe he should have told Bob to hold onto something, because it ends up being quite the bumpy ride.

[ZACH GLENN]
Zach Glenn, professional monster and adventurer errant, climbs out of the back of the truck with two other men. Glenn is kitted out in black light tactical gear: boots, fatigues, shirt, and harness. The harness has a pair of Colt 1911s, along with a very ornate wakazashi and another pair of knives attached to it. The other two men, one vaguely Hispanic and the other distinctly Asian, are dressed similarly, only with light packs and more guns.

Zach glances at Bob and Faolan, sizing both of them up. "So what's going on here," Zach asks Faolan. His own contact had indicated that he'd be working with the infamous Ikari Warriors, and Faolan looked the part mroe than Bob did.

[BOB]
"Definitely," Bob answers Faolan when he arrives. "I've got your invitation here and everything," he says, gesturing at the stolen uniform. "I've heard the crowd here's a bit rowdy though, so keep an eye out for trouble." And with that, Bob climbs up into the truck, vaulting over some crates of kibble to put himself out of sight. Once Zach joins them, Bob gives him a quick nod. With it, his attention turns toward Faolan for the full briefing.

[FAOLAN]
Faolan looks to Zach and gives a nod. Must be the third person involved in this little operation. "I guess me and Bobbo back there are going to cause a ruckus and secure the outer part of the compound." he explains. "You in the meantime slip inside and grab what needs to be grab. We don't have any intel on the inside of the place so keep your guard up. Climb in when you are ready."

He waits until everyone is loaded and gets the truck moving. And moving fast as he is just stepping on the gas. Zach and Bob might find it best to grip onto something to keep from being thrown about too badly. Then he begins to slow as he gets stopped by the checkpoint where he gets waved in. Thankfully they don't look in the back of the truck or the party would get started early.

A few moments later the truck comes to a stop and Faolan lightly knocks on the back. "Everyone out. It's our stop."

[ZACH GLENN]
Zach and his two men clamber into the truck, having a somewhat easy time of the ride. It's apparent that all three of them have had some kind of military training, and are used to really bumpy rides in back of trucks. Zach's the first one out, followed by his associates. "I'll wait for the fireworks," he says with a nod. "We're just after information, then?"

[BOB]
Bob doesn't seem to mind the ride and braces himself against the strapped in cargo containers when it gets bumpy. He flanks Zach and his men, taking up the rear due to his size and role here. "That's how I understand it," he nods to Zach. "Heard there was some shady dealings here that someone needs to get the bottom of. Good luck in there. Give us a call if things get too hairy." Bob throws a thumbs-up to Zach.

His attention toward Faolan. "So it's just private security here, right? Shouldn't be too much trouble for an Ikari Warrior. You guys have quite a reputation."

[ZACH GLENN]
Zach jerks a thumb at the two men behind him. "That's why I bring friends," he says to Bob with a faint grin. Zach then gestures toward the fence line, and the trio take off at a loping jog that somehow manages to leave no sound.

[FAOLAN]
"Private security from what we could gather from intelligence. At worst similar to the guys I dealt with to get the information about this place." He tells Bob and gives a nod to Zach. "Good luck." he says and leaves Zach and his friends go take care of the inside of the place. He turns back to Bob and grins.

"Want to see what you are all about. The boss doesn't usually hire outside the group too often, but we were busy and he was worried I would get in over my head after the last little mission." He tosses the uniform aside and reaches into the truck to grab his bata and give it a bit of a twirl. "All right. Shall we have some fun?"

[BOB]
As Zach leaves, Bob nods to Faolan. "Sounds like these guys have already given you some trouble. So what's the deal here anyway?" Bob asks, adjusting his belt. "Some kind of mad science experiment?"
"I'm just a guy who's trying to help people with their problems," Bob says with a smile. "Nothing too impressive if you ask me, but I'll be glad to show you what I can do if we run into trouble." Bob pounds his fist into his glove and rolls his neck. "And stick-fighting, eh? Should be interesting."

[SERGEI]
Emerging behind the shadowy trees, a second van out rolled to meet the first. The interior was obscured by tinted windows. It stopped in between the Ikari and the way back. The van flashed out flood lights on Bob and Faolan. It wait a moment, not acting.

Then it spoke. A man with a Russian accent talked through the van's speakers. "This is official business of Interpol. Place hands on head, and lie down on the grass."

"Do NOT resist!"

[FAOLAN]
Faolan was getting prepared to make a bit of a scene, but then well....he is beaten to the punch. "The hell. I don't anyone else is on this mission." And he would be right. This isn't backup or the like. Instead he is hit by the bright light which causes him to raise his hand to shield his eyes. "Interpol? Oh piss off. This is Ikari business." he shouts back.

He looks to Bob and shakes his head. "Don't know what this is about. Not even sure why Interpol would be interested in this sort of thing. Obviously don't listen to the jackass."

His attention returns to the van. "Hey! How about turning off the lights and getting your ass out of that van so we can settle this the proper way. By the way I am resisting."

[BOB]
When the headlights shine on the two men, Bob shields his eyes with his forearm. "Interpol?" he asks, looking over to Faolan. When the Ikari Warrior makes his way forward to lure the alleged Interpol agent out, Bob shrugs.
"Guess this just got a lot more interesting," Bob stepping to the side and adjusting his footing.

[SERGEI]
The van remained still for a moment again. After deliberation from within, a Russian man walked out of the side. He held two pairs of hand cuffs as he approached. Standing with the floodlight at his back, the Russian spoke.

"This is a lawful arrest, you are trespassing, interfering with official business. Come quietly and we can solve all of this the easy way."

[FAOLAN]
Are this guys for real? Faolan is still not truely beliving this could be Interpol. Then again why would anyone ever want to pretend to be Interpol? He jus shakes his head. He is about to say something, but then trails off and only has an amused look on his face when someone steps out with the sets of handcuffs. "Oh the easy way. Why didn't you say so."

Faolan steps forward, but instead of offering his hands he just headbutts the man in the face and then jabs him in the stomach with his bata.

He turns to Bob. "Here." He pushes the man towards Bob now this time around. "I don't feel like being arrested. Allow him to arrest you if you want." he says with a smirk and he turns back about to look towards the van. "Anything else?"

[BOB]
"Sorry about that," Bob says with with an apologetic wave to the officer--even if Faolan may have already knocked him right out. His attention turns to Faolan. "Not really interested in that either to be honest. If Interpol is here though," Bob says, turning around to look over the facility. "What are they after?"

[SERGEI]
Silent, the man staggered towards the van, stunned by the dismissal. He shouted in Russian, and the door opened. The first boot stepped out of the van. Wearing it was the feared White Angel of Death, Sergei Dragunov. The Spetsnaz approached the pair, performing a light stretch in his combat gear, rubbing his neck.

They decided against the easy way, so he was going to bring the hard way.

[FAOLAN]
The Ikari Warrior smirks and just watches Bob out of the corner of his eye. His attention more is on the van as he wonders what is next when they obviously show the man that came out to arrest him that they are not in the mood for the easy way. "That is a good question. Figured Heidern would have heard about this. Usually he plays well enough with Interpol. I figure he wouldn't like me being arrested by them though so...."

He gives a bit of a shrug and falls silent. It looks like someone else is coming out of the van now. "What now? More handcuffs?" he asks with a smirk, though there is actually a change in his demeanor when he sees Sergei. "Oh hell." Now this. This was certainly not something that was expected. And if Heidern knew there would have probably been a big change in plans.

"Hey, on your toes, big guy." Faolan tells Bob while straightening up and giving his bata another twirl. "This one is no walk in the park." To hell with any possible security detail on the outside. This is a real threat to the operation.

[BOB]
Bob keeps a close eye on the van as there's some shuffling and a changing of the guard. His attention briefly drifts toward Faolan when there's a run-down on the mission.
"That's what I figured," Bob says with a smile. "Heidern seemed like a pretty professional guy when we talked, and the Ikari Warriors have quite a reputation to keep up." But then Faolan issues a warning. Bob turns to look at White Angel of Death, watching him carefully.
Bob raises his fists slightly, sliding his foot in front of him as he assumes a fighting stance. "Sounds like this guy has got a bit of a reputation. Do you know him?"

The Russian approached, he analyzed the interlopers. The corpulent one seemed American wile the other clearly sounded Irish. Once near lashed out with brutal kick. Sergei sent his boot heel to the Irishman's leg to break him fast.

[FAOLAN]
"Not too much on my end. Just enough to know he is bad news." is all Faolan manages to get out before he finds Sergei coming at him first. He starts to back up and prepare himself, but then that kicks come in and it comes in low. That was not what the Ikari Warrior was expecting and the result is that kick taking the leg out from under Faolan and making him land hard on his back.

"Sonofa...." he grumps and gets up to his feet. Well now he knows Sergei hits hard. He will just have to hit harder and also hope Bob can pull his own weight in this one. Fighting security detail is one thing, but he isn't sure his partner is ready for something like this. "All right....want to play.....we'll play."

Faolan steadies himself and grips his bata with both hands. He takes a deep breath as black strands of energy start to coil and curl about his arms and the length of the bata, the energy giving a crackle almost like mini lightning as he furrows his brow and seems to concentrate.

COMBATSYS: Faolan gathers his will.

"Hmm...well I don't mind a good surprise now and again," Bob says, smiling a little too himself. He can't stay too happy about things, however, as soon Sergei closes the gap and drives his boot into Faolan hard enough to take out the Ikari Warrior's footing. Bob tightens his stance in response, shifting to put his center of gravity lower in case he's the target of the next move.
But Bob doesn't leave Sergei room to go after him when Faolan takes a moment to focus. Instead, the corpulent fighter rushes in, launching forward with a deceptive speed for a man of his girth. He practically throws himself forward with a strong right hook aimed to catch Sergei at the low point of his body armor. As soon as the first punch is thrown, Bob swings the left toward Sergei's chin.
But Bob keeps moving, building up a rhythm to his blows. He chases the left cross with a knee toward the stomach, hopping up briefly before he spins--fully spins, despite his size--into an powerful overhead kick.
"I try not to make it a habit of causing trouble for law enforcement," Bob says, "but something tells me you've got something in mind besides keeping the peace!"

COMBATSYS: Bob successfully hits Sergei with Combination Bitter.

The fat man assaulted both Sergei and Newton's laws using his great speed. The attack shifted focus from the Irishman to the lard barrel.

Sergei went to grab Bob. Not just by the arm, he was going to pull him by his flesh. If he grabbed, he would shift him over his shoulder and crash him onto the ground. Sergei was going to turn Bob's weight against him, and kick him across the concrete, aiming at the arm joint.

COMBATSYS: Sergei successfully hits Bob with Purge Slam.

[BOB]
Bob unleashes a flurry of blows, but Sergei catches his arm before he can withdraw. Even as the Russian pulls him forward, Bob tries to ground himself to use his weight to his advantage. Unfortunately for him, his forward momentum puts him in a bad position to ground himself, leaving the big man able to be thrown, and hard, over Sergei's shoulder.

The kick connects with Bob's elbow with bone-rattling force, compounding the injury as the large karateka tries to roll away from the Spestnaz agent. Bob springs back to his feet, ignoring his own girth, but he's still nursing the arm that Sergei kicked.

"You weren't kidding about bad news," he says to Faolan, keeping his jovial tone even as he works the sore joint. But then, Bob springs forward again, kicking forward into a swift, short kick toward Sergei's midsection.

[FAOLAN]
"I wish I would be kidding, but I am not one to kid in this sort of situation." Faolan says in response to Bob. He has remained back and let his partner in crime go towards Sergei to strike. And much like Faolan experienced earlier Bob got a nice little welcoming blow.

"Okay...." The Ikari Warrior murmurs and seems fully ready for the task at hand. Or at least as ready as he can be given the situation. This is going to be one hell of a report to send to Heidern if he manages to survive. Or.....Heidern will find out the bad way if he has to get Bob and Faolan's ass out of hot water if they are captured.

And while Bob engages from up close Faolan keeps a distance. THat energy he has been gathering starts to focus into the bata he weilds. The black chi crackles and surges into the tip as Faolan holds the bata out as if in a fencing pose. A little ball begins to form and get larger.

It is about the size of a baseball when Faolan rears back and then thrusts forward, the black ball of energy detaching from the end of the bata and careening right towards Sergei.

The Russian toppled the pig and let him open. When the pig tried to kick, Sergei sent his knee to block it. It was then he saw the other sending a strike. The shadowy ball tumbled towards Sergei, but he struck it with his fist, and it vanished back into the darkness.

Fist as the ready, the Spetzans turned his strike back at he fat man. He aimed his strike at he eyes. They would know they were not facing a man of mercy.

[FAOLAN]
%"Hnn." Well that was unexpected. Faolan was used to dealing with some tough individuals, but someone that was able to just punch his attack into nothing is pretty rare. Maybe he and Bob are in over their heads on this one. At the same time there is really no turning back and an Ikari would not run away from this situation. All he can hope is Zach and his partners are able to get what is needed from inside, because Faolan and Bob are going to have their hands full.

Bob remains engaged in closer quarters and if he keeps that up there might not be much left of Bob in the long run. Faolan decides it is best to come in and make his move. Quickly the Ikari Warrior bounds forward and while Sergei is distracted with the rather rotund mercenary the Irishman hopes to find an opening.

And opening for him to jab his bata right into the side of Sergei firmly before it gives a nice electrical jolt of energy to shock the Russian. "Hello!"

Bob boot connects with Sergei's strong guard, but the karateka doesn't sit idly by. Instead he pushes off the strength of Sergei's defense, using it as a foothold to shove off and push himself back into position to go again. The big man lands with a heavy thump, but he soon finds Sergei chasing him with a dangerous punch for the face.

Bob's guard is practiced and sturdy. He opts for a defensive cross-block, bringing both arms before him to soak the impact. Even so, it slides him backward slightly.

But Bob springs back into action, using his weight to offset the backward momentum. He powers forward again, crouching low and then launching a swift uppercut that is immediately chained into a one-two punch. Bob throws a second, spinning uppercut that's driven by a straight jump that puts both his speed and weight into the blow.

The Russian saw the Irishman move, when he saw him flank with his stick. The shock came, and Sergei just stared Faolan in the eyes. He would let him see the cold eyes he said hello too.

His stare was interrupted by the fat man's uppercuts. Blasted towards Faolan, Sergei turned to the nearby target. He rushed forwards to grab the man's arm. He would hold him by the shoulder joint and strike him in the eyes, mouth, throat. Then try to shatter his sternum with a powerful knee to the midsection, then bring down his fists in a hammer to send him to the concrete.

Faolan decided to say hello, and now he had better get ready to say goodbye.

[FAOLAN]
Let it be said most Ikari Warriors aren't the best when it comes to doing the smart thing in a battle. Not that they are dumb, but some just get a bit of a 'tough guy' complex that can often bite them in the ass. This would be a good example of that.

Faolan felt that kick from earlier and despite that he holds his ground even when Sergei's attention shifts towards him and that knee comes crashing in. THere is a sharp gasp and Faolan has to grip the bata tight to keep from losing it. Then that hammering downwards slams the Ikari Warrior hard into the ground where the concreate buckles and spiderwebbing forms from the impact.

Jesus that hurt and even so somehow Faolan manages a laugh. "Interpol really has a thing for hiring sissies." He is just wanting an ass kicking at this point and maybe he doesn't care. Perhaps it is goading to keep the attention shifted to him so Bob has a bit of a chance to take down this guy.

Faolan is also not going to stay down and call it a day. He is alread rising to his feet as he looks to lunge forward towards Sergei and give another stiff thrust from the bata to knock him off balance. If he can manage to catch Sergei off guard and his strike lands true he will follow up with several more slashes from the bata before making a sweeping motion to take legs out from under the Russian. "Bobbo, sit on him or something." Faolan is sometimes not great with words when under pressure.

[BOB]
Bob rides his uppercut into the air, but launches Sergei back toward Faolan. The big man, meanwhile, lands in a three-point stance with a heavy 'hup' and a bit of a tremor. He is a big, big man after all. Bob looks up, bu he's too late. Sergei tears into Faolan with a vicious combo while the bountiful bounty hunter looks on with concern.

"You okay?" he calls to Fao, but then, there's the quip. Bob chuckles. "Not sure I'd egg him on in your position there, friend." Bob surges forward, reaching to try and grab Sergei around the neck and chest. "Allow me," Bob says, pivoting into a hip toss back and away, "to give you a bit of a breather!" The big man positions himself in the opening, trying to bait Sergei to fight his way past the colossal karateka if he wants to follow-up against Faolan.

The Russian finished his barrage on the Irish interloper, but he still tried to resist. Sergei saw him lunge with his puny pole. He could tell they were trying to goad him, but they would soon learn that such actions could not move him. The Russian coldly catches the stick in his hand, just barely. He regained his footing and looked into Faolan's eye's, until his focus is quickly drawn elsewhere. The blubbery Bob reached in to grab Sergei. The Russian deftly avoided the grasp and moved the the man's large side. He lunged legs forward into a scissor take-down. He would make this man's weight his unmaking, and drive him head first to the ground.

[FAOLAN]
Faolan isn't exactly a weak man. He might not have the raw power of someone like Ralf, but his strength is far from nothing to sneeze at. That is why whe the bata is just stopped before the Ikari Warrior can even really start going he pauses for just a moment. That hesitation quickly fades though when Bob comes in and draws the attention away once more.

It is realy one of those moments where he is a bit unsure what to do. His offense hasn't exactly done too much and well usually if electrocuting someone with his energy and just beating a person down doesn't work.....well he never really thought much of option C. "Eh, screw it."

Only one thing to do in a case like this. Just keep swinging away and hope for the opponent to get too cocky or overconfident. If anything it can work as a good distraction to press forward and work in tandem with Bob. With Sergei looking to grab and take down the Ikari's rotund partner, Faolan just grips the bata with both hands on one end and decides he is going to just tee off on the Russian with a not too fancy swing.

[BOB]
Bob's hands swing through the air, but in Sergei's dodging the weighty fighter gets an opportunity to slip into the gap and draw the Russian's attention. The plan works, to some degree, as Bob does indeed find himself in the sights of the Spetsnaz operative. The Russian goes for a flying leg scissor takedown, and he certainly gets Bob in his grip. That, however, is when things get hairy.

Certainly Bob's weight is considerable, but unlike most men of his size, Bob moves swiftly and with deceptive agility. To truly master the power of both speed and weight, Bob has honed his muscles to support that tremendous weight and move it without difficulty. And so, when Sergei goes for the takedown? Bob plants both feet on the earth like a sumo wrestler, resisting the impact with both weight and muscle power. The end result is an odd moment where Bob refuses to go down, and when he does it's with much less crippling force than what the Systema technique used typically brings.

And it's then that Bob tries to turn the tide to his advantage. He reaches out to grab the Russian by his extended legs and hoist him up while Bob himself hops to his feet. Still trying to hold on, Bob snaps forward with a flurry of punches--then aims to toss Sergei back with a short drop throw.

From there, Bob powers forward, leaping high into the air--from where he rolls into an acrobatic flip and then drops downward in an earth-shaking punch launched from a classi "Superman" flying pose.

[ZACH GLENN]
Zach and Hibiki have, somehow, caught up to Chavez and thus reuniting the team that entered the facility. Zach glances at Chavez, "Thought I told you to warn the other two." Chavez jerks a thumb towards the scrum. "Wanted to," the infosec specialist says, "But they seemed a bit busy."

Zach's gazes slides over to the fight. Bob and Faolan duking it out with... Zach's curious look turns into a serious scowl. /Dragunov/. The man who had done his solid best to kill his girlfriend. For that matter, one of more than a few people Zach had thought left for dead on Shang Tsung's island of Mortal Kombat. Regardless, he's in the way.

"HEY," he calls out to the trio slugging it out. "We've got," Zach checks his watch, "About three minutes before the bombs inside that facility go off. Not sure how much damage they'll do, but I've been told that it'll be a lot. We should leave. It'd be easier if we didn't have to carry anyone."

"On the other hand," Zach says as he stalks toward the fray, "I'm supposed to make certain that the four I came in with leave with me."

Looks like Zach is ready to fight as well.

[SERGEI]
Sergei was near the fatman's grasps, but had devised a plan to withstand the capture with ease. Right as he was prepared, the skinny one rapped his back with the stick. Then the Russian was caught by the lard barrel.

After ending up as a speed bump, The Russian attempted to stand, but fell to a knee. When the three men came arrived, he knew it was time to retreat. Then he heard about the bombs.

He rapidly limped back to the van and was hoisted in. The van drove off and Sergei reflected. The mission was a failure, sans the silver lining of course. He knew the organization, he knew their faces, and they admitted to planting bombs. They would have the shift through the ashes, but there would always be a way.

COMBATSYS: Sergei can no longer fight.

[FAOLAN]
What ended up being a strike meant for distraction ends up finding home and Bob is quick to take advantage and add onto the assualt that finally takes down the dangerous Russian. Faolan is a bit out of breath and he just nods to Bob for a moment before his attention shifts to Sergei who looks to be moving quickly. "What, already running away?" He calls out then sees part of as to why the Russian is making a tactical withdrawal.

Zach and his associates are returning and even a man of Sergei's skill would have little luck against five people at once. It lets Faolan ease out of his stance and his gaze moves about the general area just to make sure there are no other threats. "Good job, Bob. I owe you a drink or ten." he says with a chuckle.

His gaze then shifts to Zach and his cohorts. "Get everything you need? I got a chopper I can radio in that will meet us not far from here and extract us."

[BOB]
Taking advantage of the opening, Bob capitalizes and brings the pain in a big way. With Sergei withdrawing, Bob turns his attention to Zach's arrival.

"Hah, thanks. You too," Bob says as he gives Faolan a quick salute. "Bombs, huh?" the husky fighter turns to Zach. "Must be some bad business. Anything we need to help close the door on this place before everything goes up in smoke?"

[ZACH GLENN]
"We got what we could," Zach answers, glancing at the watch again. "We just need to get the hell out of here. Place was bad business, and the person running it seemed to think I was with the Russians for a moment, then the UN."

[FAOLAN]
The Irishman reaches to pull out a radio and flips it on. "This is Little Wolf. Come on and get us. We'll be at the extraction point shortly. Inform the boss we had Interpol problems and explosives are about to make things very pretty. How about we be in the sky so we don't get caught up in the pretty display."

He puts the radio back and makes a motion. "Forget the truck. Run like hell and get to the top of the hill over there." He points and breaks into a run. He is hurting, but endurance was always a trait Ikari seem to have. He can crash later when in a more safe area. He may not be the first to reach the extraction point, but he is at least leading the charge as he counts his blessings that things could have gone far worse given the unexpected interference.

[BOB]
"Huh," Bob says, crossing his arms. "Sounds like a signed up for a whole mess of intrigue. I'm hoping that maybe I can get a bit more information," Bob turns to listen as Faolan calls for extraction, "when we're safely away from the fireworks that is."

And with that, Bob follows the lead. Despite being a big, big man he doesn't seem to have too much trouble keeping pace.

[P-BODY]
It is only by chance when Bob steps on the paper.

He might not even notice it on his foot at first. An old-dot matrix printout, a leftover from the ensuing chaos.

The only thing that might catch his eye is the word 'TOP SECRET' at the top.

[BOB]
Bob, despite what some might think, can not only see his feet but also has a key eye for detail. He slips the paper off his shoe and glances it over, the header at the top giving him the sign he needs to immediately know he probably didn't find someone's discarded litter.

[P-BODY]
The low rumble comes, as Bob looks at the document. The bombs were beginning the detonation, as the site started its journey of destruction. The dot-matrix reads out as follows, as the team makes for the extraction point. The detail, well, are up to the readers to understand.
