Mortal Kombat - MK: Munin and ??? vs Reptile in "SINKING"

[Toggle Names]

Description: There is one obvious way off the island -- one of the massive galleons that brought the kombatants there in the first place. A gargantuan galleon of wood and steel, the vessel "Abandoned Hope" has more than enough room to ferry the survivors back to Earthrealm proper. It takes both a practiced sorceror and an experienced captain to navigate the leylines and return Earthrealmers from this hellish island -- and, fortunately, both are present aboard the ship. And even more fortunately, they are both willing to help people escape -- after all, their 'honorable' master Shang Tsung would just as soon see them perish with the rest of the island! MUNIN sneaks aboard the ship in order to secure it for Earthrealm's retreat -- but is she prepared to face Shang Tsung's enforcer REPTILE all by herself?

[MUNIN]
It's a beautiful evening on the beach. Despite the island sinking and the bloodshed going on, the beach still manages to retain it's beauty and comfortable atmosphere. The moon is out in full, casting a pale light upon all it touches. The sound of the ocean and waves crashing continues, though the tide HAS riden substantially.

This doesn't affect the boat too much. The large ship, one of the sorcerers grouping that brough our intrepid heroes (and villains) to the island remains in place courtesy of it's anchor, rocking out the oceans currents until given orders. While these orders usually come from Shang Tsung, in this case one of the would-be heroes has decided to try giving some of her own! By Munins reasoning, without a ship no one leaves, and when (or if) other survivors come to escape the flooding such a vessel will be in dire need!

Better it be secured sooner rather than later.

She has waited until nightfall to make her approach, swimming low under the now-deeper water to avoid detection. Once at the base of the ship, the small darkened figure tosses a rope with a makeshift grapple and climbs aboard! Dark mist drifts off the figures form, making stealth on the darkened deck a bit easier as Munin makes her way to the entrance to the lower decks cautiously.....

[REPTILE]
The boat is not completely immune to the sinking island. The immense anchor rope of the "Abandoned Hope" groans with the stress, as the anchor itself is pulled down with the island's depths. Luckily one of the attentive crewmen is able to let out some of the anchor rope, to prevent the galleon from sinking beneath the waves as well.

The ship itself is, at the moment, crewed entirely by guards in the employ of Outworld. Some were Earthrealm mercenaries, hired for the job; dressed in spartan and threadbare garments, they seem to be shivering in the brisk winds. The captain and the hooded sorcerer are a bit better off; as denizens of Outworld, their more substantial robes provide a bit more protection from the elements. But while the mercenaries are chilled, it's the Outworlders who have the most to fear, keeping their eye on the palace itself, as its marble walls begin to tumble to the depths below...

The captain's eyes, shadowed by the wide-brimmed hat upon his head, glint in the reflected moonlight. Earthrealm won this konflict -- and if he understood the rules correctly, that meant the participants should want to be ferried back to their home. They have standing orders to be ready for departure at any time -- and indeed, the sinking of the island could mean their ship would be pulled to its watery grave. He -wants- to leave port before that happens... but without any order to leave, that might be considered treason.

The sorcerer has considerably more knowledge in this regard. As the eyes and ears of the Sorceror, he is on the lookout for treason.
He is not, however, on the lookout for the loop of rope which is slipped about his neck: secured and pulled taut in the blink of an eye. The sorceror will find himself hauled upwards, his feet dangling helplessly a foot from the ship's deck. Both of his hands are put towards the task of vainly freeing himself from the rope noose -- less so upon the invisible assailant.

The captain remains ignorant of the plight of his sorcerous navigator. He even remains oblivious to the disruption of the air beside him, the distortion taking shape not unlike that of a pond recently disturbed by a skipped stone. In the refracting shockwaves of air appears a masked face, with pupilless eyes.

"Captain... you have new ordersss."

Another moment passes, and the speaker makes himself even more apparent: garbed in leather, with touches of green. And, in place of skin, the weathered scales of a reptile.

"You are to run this ssship aground. There ssshall be no essscape for the Earthrealmersss..."

The entrance to the lower decks is mostly unsecured. But there will be one crewman heading up from the lower decks at about the same time as Munin's descent...

[MUNIN]
During all this, Munin continues to slink and shroud her way across the deck of the ship. Lucky for her, she is in earshot of Reptiles conversation with the captain!

Change in plans. Hers, but also (hopefully) those for the ship as well! At least, if SHE has anything to say about it!

The lower decks are a bust at this point. Someone is coming up, but also her target is above deck anyway. Moving slowly around the side, she attempts to come in behind Reptile and make the first move from his flank!

That is, provided he doesn't detect her!

COMBATSYS: Munin has joined the fight here.

[REPTILE]
The sorceror struggles within his noose, kicking and flailing about as his fingers work to overcome the grip upon his neck. With time, he will loosen his bonds manually, and/or weave the magic necessary to free himself. In all fairness, if Syzoth had sought to truly end his life, the hidden assassin would have certainly done so.

The Captain himself is made aware of the presence, arching an eyebrow of concern. "Eh? Is that so? T'would be a fine waste of a magnificent vessel, me scaly friend..."

"Do not quessstion your ordersss. Ssshang Tssssung has no patienssse for traitorsss..."

The hooded Saurian's head tilts to the side as a trickle of anxiety runs down his back. He hears something -- or rather, -senses- it. Clawed hands pull into fists, but it is a moment too late for him to put them to use against an assailant grappling him from behind. His neck is grappled -- his breath constricted for that one moment, not unlike the aggrieved sorceror. And in that mere instant, he finds himself catapulted forward by Munin's attack.

Many would find themselves completely at the shadow striker's mercy at this point -- launched from the boat without any reasonable way of returning control.
Reptile, though, is not: he takes advantage of the confusion. Wrenched about by the blow, there is a moment at which Munin's grip will falter, and it is that precise instant at which he will slip out of her grasp -- and indeed, he will appear to vanish entirely from existence.

An instant later, he will appear about six feet away, and beneath Munin. His mask is pulled down, revealing a scaled face. His long, reptilian tongue lashes outwards, hoping to coil itself around Munin's ankles -- and if he manages that, he will jerk her about in midair, twisting her about so that her head is pointed towards the water below.

It is then that he would lash outwards with his claws, raking across her stomach with a brutal pair of strikes -- only then following up with an impactful punch to the abdomen aimed at sending her flying into the side of the wooden galleon.

COMBATSYS: Reptile successfully hits Munin with Scaly Serpent.

[MUNIN]
(Damn.....) is the thought that crosses Munins mind as Reptile vanishes.

He reappears, and his tongue lashes out! He's fast! Faster than her by a longshot!

She tries to lift her foot and kick the tongue away, but is completely off on her timing! With a quick shout of suprise she's lifted off her feet and sent flying right into his clawed attack! Blood flows freely as he carves her like a christmas turkey! As the last hit connects, however, she too vanishes into black mist! She reforms milliseconds later behind Reptile, a chi-blade blazing from each hand as she does a double-swipe at his flank!

[REPTILE]
The captain starts barking out orders to his crewmen -- he may not like the idea of trashing the boat, but far be it from him to disobey an order from the Tyrant Sorceror. The sorceror navigator struggles with the noose; he's almost got himself free, and it looks like he might be involved with getting the rest of the crew safe as it is.

But Syzoth, the shadowy reptilian, is now flying freely in the breeze. Moonlight glistens on his back as he allows his mask to settle back into position. His eyes constrict slightly -- he is pleased to feel the satisfaction of his attack volley landing true. He would be even more pleased if his prey did not vanish into a cloud of black mist, however -- that move puts him on high alert.

Someone as fast as he, perhaps?

The skull upon his waist -- a macabre look that sadly passed out of style decades ago in Earthrealm -- glows with brilliant red light. Leather-wrapped bone armguards are whipped backwards as the reptilian twists about, withdrawing his flank from the first attack. The violet chi-spine is deflected, running across his bone guard and carving across his fleshy arm rather than the more critical musculature of his back. The second slash comes from a different vector, but the shadowy assassin has already amped up to a higher speed, his form fringed with a red aura as he moves his other arm to block this strike as well.
Dark blood spatters outward from the wounds on his arms, but he does not concern himself with this -- instead, he twists about to face Munin and delivers a krushing roundhouse kick to rattle her about, in his continued defiance of the pull of gravity.

"You will not interrupt the mastersss' work!"

[MUNIN]
The kick impacts Munins crossed arms, the bone creaking painfully from the effort. She bares her teeth, as much to fight the pain as the attack incoming! Her abdoman is bleeding pretty badly, and she knows she can't keep up this pace against an opponent this fast and deadly.

With a quick leap back and a flick of her wrist, she sends a wave of black shadowy chi flying at Reptile. If he's that bad up close, maybe a bit of range will get her an advantage!

[REPTILE]
With a flare of the gem at his waist, Syzoth's entire form is bathed in crimson light as he surges upwards. Munin's shadowy chi -- a barely visible blight upon the moonlit sky -- hurtles harmlessly beneath the airborne assassin as he fixes his slitted eyes upon his would-be prey.

He reaches up, tugging the metal mask down to reveal a row of daggersharp teeth.

"I will put a ssswift end to you -- the massster has need of my ssservice!"

Kicking the air beneath him, he suddenly changes direction, streaking forward as surely as if he were running across solid ground. He lunges a palm strike at Munin, pivoting about afterwards to swing a second palm strike from his trailing hand. Should he land those, he would grab his target by the shoulders and vomit a stream of corrosive venom at her. Steam clouds hiss outward from the heated liquid -- it might not be the best thing to get hit by, to say the least!

[I-NO]
Boy, Munin sure looks like she's just straight up fucked right now, doesn't it? She's just one ninja and mini-Godzilla is on orders from the place's landlord to make sure everyone who CAME here DIES here. He's angry! He's green! He's got supernatural powers!

And just as his palm is about to enter the sovereign airspace of Munin City, there is a burst of sound, a bit like mic feedback, and the devil reptile's strike is stopped, slamming into an outstretched palm. And when we say stopped, we MEAN stopped: the sudden deceleration turns into explosive force that bursts outward from the point of impact, having nowhere to go except to become an expanding shockwave that cracks the deck planks.

The other hand of Munin's mysterious benefactor comes up and tilts up the brim of her crimson witch hat, revealing the shit-eating grin of the Red Witch of Rock. "Hello, Cleveland," she says, grin turning feral. "Are you ready to rock?"

Pushing with her hand, the sultry songstress takes a step back, looking over her shoulder at Munin for a moment, eyebrow up. "You got stones throwing yourself at Pacific Rim Lite over here, I'll give you that," she says, ever the charmer, before turning back to Reptile. "As for you... your master has need of your 'service'? Falcons, bears, now whatever the hell you are. This tournament has been top to bottom furries and it's really starting to upset me."

In the blink of an eye, her previously empty hands are suddenly holding a sky blue Stratocaster that looks ripped from Plato's World of Forms, the ideal from which all electric guitars since are echoes. "And trust me, if *I* think your kinky sex shit is unsettling?"

With no warning whatsoever, I-No swings the guitar at Reptile's head, looking to straight up clock him with it, the impact bursting with a power chord of sonic power. "Then you're in serious trouble."

[MUNIN]
It's true! For the most part, on her own in this fight, Munin is fucked!

She throws up her arms as she dives to the side in the hopes that if she makes it the acid will go overhead, or at least will protect her head at worst! She comes up from the shoulder roll just in time to see I-no appear and stop the attack!

She can't help but stop for a moment and stare at the womans entrance, commenting "Badass.....". With a grin, she leaps into action, splitting in two and coming at Reptile from either side of I-no, one an illusion, the other real, mirroring each other perfectly in an elbow strike aimed at his face!

Hopefully this is the turning of the tide, so to speak! Fitting, them being on a boat and all!

[REPTILE]
Another interloper.

Reptile snarls as his palm strikes are met by someone considerably more formidable than the prey he had intended to dispatch -- a soul who he had felt only a split-second before impact. He had already been collecting the venom in his mouth, so he is forced to regurgitate it anyway, as he leaps back to a safer distance. Moments later, the acid hisses as it splashes down into the water.

Another smartaleck, using words he doesn't know about and doesn't care about. Cleveland? Rock? Furries? Clearly, the discourse is an attempt to distract the assassin. But he's never been predisposed to speak with his prey.

"Sssshut your vile mouth!" he hisses, his clawed feet landing against the air. He is still hovering in mid-air in the space aside the galleon, but his feet land against red 'splashes' of energy, radiating outwards as if he was skipping across a watery surface.

Kinky sex shit? "Do you alwaysss ramble like thisss?!" He takes one more step to orient himself -- only to find two Munins attacking his face. Irritably, he lurches abruptly to the side, turning his armored shoulder into the elbow strikes. The bony armor shudders, twin cracks spiderwebbing across their surface from the two strikes...

The thing which he fears considerably more, though, is the sky blue Stratocaster which comes whipping towards his new position. Grimacing, he realizes that Munin's attack has blocked his escape routes -- and forces him to go -through- the new aggressor. He lurches forward, his form shadowed with red afterimages that illustrate his defense in passing: an elbow raised upwards to ward off the guitar, while his other elbow is thrust forwards in a rushing attack at I-No's side.

With a blur of motion, he will sharply reverse direction, rebounding off the side of the galleon. On the return trip, the crimson-accented Saurian will hammer another elbow strike between I-No's shoulderblades -- and then he would follow through with a powerful uppercut!

[I-NO]
Well, at least he's got some fight in him (even if he is a furry... like the bad kind, not the regular kind that just have fun roleplaying online even if roleplaying online is a loser hobby, for losers). Reptile's desperate forward smash through I-No's... less desperate forward smash results in a hilarious clashing of forces, the combo (you're not Ultimecia, stop that K shit) landing solidly and sending I-No tumbling into the air and back quite a few feet, the rock and roll witch landing heavily but safely. She slowly rises to her feet. Those were some heavy hits he landed. Looks like it coulda hurt.

I-No's hand comes up and wipes across her mouth, the brim of her scarlet hat having fallen over her eyes, making her suddenly feral smile the only visible feature on her face.

"Heh."

You can hurt her. She just, you know. Doesn't care.

The guitar is still in her hands, and another hand comes up, this time holding a crystalline guitar pick so intense blue in shade it's almost painful to look at. The brim of her hat is still low over her face. "Yeah, Bulbasaur Junior, I DO always ramble like this. And it's always some jackhole straight out of a Tolkein book who gets pissed off at a little bit of banter. We're on a fucking ship, for god's sake. Google Errol Flynn if you have internet on this goddamned rock."

Her hand comes up. The pick shines.

"Or alternately, you can GO FUCK YOURSELF."

The hand comes DOWN. And it plays a chord of such perfect, intense power that it becomes a VISIBLE, rippling, gold-orange shockwave tearing through the air toward Reptile, who is quite likely about to experience the power of Rock firsthand.

[MUNIN]
Munin can't help but smirk. I-no is no joke! The banter is clever, but also makes for a great distraction!

She blurs forwards, following behind the music note, only to seemingly vanish on reaching him! Timing it carefully, she manuevers behind him once the attack has passed in time with her illusion vanishing, sending a fast elbow strike at his back! "Somehow i doubt he knows what Google is....."

[REPTILE]
Syzoth takes things seriously because he's the last of his kind, and he sure as hell doesn't have the luxury to squander his time researching furries, pokemans, or J.R.R. Tolkien books.

But even still, the Saurian can't help but narrow his eyes at I-No as he flits across the deck of the ship, repositioning himself for the next round of kombat exchanges. "Why isss everyone ssso obsssesssed with the internet here? It sssounds like a ussselesss dissstracssshion..."

With I-No's shiny pick to catch his eye, Reptile feints forward but actually shadow-steps backwards, constantly keeping his slitted gaze focused upon the pick. He isn't sure what form the Stratocaster destroyer will take, but he has a good bet it will probably hit him even despite the distance he has placed between himself and the metal-shredding queen of rock. He leaps into the air, twisting about in a tight pirouette -- and opens his reptilian mouth, loosing a high-pitched scream.

The keening cry that erupts outwards is not more powerful than the shockwave of energy flying his way. But the wavefront -- sheathed in a blistering red bulletpoint of acid -- is nonetheless enough to pierce through the wavefront, hastened along by the tremendous forward pressure as it streaks towards him. As the wavefront shears apart, and Reptile's body continues to soar over it, the acid hurtles forward, seeking to splash across I-No's face and upper torso with deadly, corrosive effect.

It would be now, when he is soaring over the shockwave, that Munin is able to strike him in the back. As luck would have it though, he had not anticipated that -- nor had he accounted for the sorceror below him. As he falls, the sorceror -- recently freed from his noose -- sees his earlier assailant, and raises his staff upwards -- wheeling it around to clock Reptile in the jaw. They may be allies, but Reptile started the conversation on the wrong foot...

The double impacts send Syzoth crashing to the deck. The Saurian's body bounces once, twice -- and only after that tumble is he able to right himself, hunched over like a feral beast. "I wonder how each of you tassstesss...."

Haven't you heard?

"Heh."

The power of rock is eternal.

While an eyebrow does go up at Reptile's rather aggressive dealing with the attack she sent his way, she is absolutely not going to be take unawares by it. A clever observer will notice that her pick-holding hand has never once left her guitar, and before the echoes of her power chord have had time to die away, she once again begins to strum out a tune. You'll notice, in fact, that she is able to play an ELECTRIC GUITAR quite clearly despite NOT HAVING AN AMP.

This should tell you something.

In point of fact, she is playing quite a recognizable tune... to Munin, anyway; there's a good chance Reptile's never heard of it. But the acid splashes dangerously in her direction only to be basically disintegrated on contact by the coruscating waves of sonic power radiating from the Rock Witch. WHUMP. WHUMP. WHUMP. WHUMP WHUMP WHUMP WHA-WHUMP.

That's right. Another one bites the dust.

As the chords die out, I-No tips up the brim of her hat and smirks. "That would have been impressive. If it'd worked." She glances over at Munin, who suggested that Reptile doesn't know what Google is, and says -- in rather a kindly voice, for her anyway -- "I know, sweetness. That's the joke."

Turning to Reptile, she gives the scaly servant a wild smile. "Buddy, I wouldn't let you find out how I taste even with his dick," she says, jerking a thumb at the sorcerer who finally found some fucking cojones to get involved instead of being a bystander.

"Though let's see if you can do anything cool..." And here, she kicks off, looking to grab the lizardman by his freakin' lizard snount and chokeslam him into the ground; the power she infuses into the blow going off like mic feedback if she manages it. "...with that TONGUE."

[MUNIN]
A snicker escapes Munins lips as she moves into a more advantagious position. Luckily Reptile is more worried about I-no than herself, so best to operate within I-nos patterns! When the busty musician goes for the chokeslam, Munin makes her move.

With a quick leap, she spins in the air overtop of Reptile, slashing out with a chi-lance enveloping her hand as she flies by!

Syzoth is tilted over from Munin's attacks, but after a moment, he rises up -- and with a series of cracks, he can be heard reasserting his spine into proper order. Just another parlor trick to remind those following at home that this dude is not *quite* human...

A look approximating 'pleasure' passes across the Saurian's features for a moment, before he finds himself once again on the defensive. He'd expected a counterattack from the shift of pitch in I-No's instruments, but instead he bears witness to his venomous projectile getting utterly annihilated by the power of rock.

Strange music; he silently notes that the reverb does -not- suit his hearing. Nor does the, er... was that an -insult?- Do dicks -taste?- Puzzling...

When both of the two fighters coordinate their attacks, he opts into twisting into a quick flip upwards. In the process, the somersaulting Saurian barely avoids I-No's attempt at grabbing hold of him -- but that places him closer to Munin's stabbing chi-lance!

It would just so come to pass that the Saurian has a way of dealing with chi -- more of his own internal secretions. In this case, it's the ability to coat his foot pads with chi-laced mucus. Rather than take direct damage from Munin's attack, he's able to wrap both feet around her attack -- and use her momentum as a weapon against I-No!

"Many thankssss..." he comments, as his form repeats itself fourfold, streaking forward with ludicrous celerity. He rockets downward at an angle, seeking to buckle I-No over with a driving elbow. Should that land, he would then land on the deck of the boat, his slime-encoated feet bringing both fighters forward at high speed -- and then an uppercut would slam into her stomach, sending her hurtling into the main mast of the galleon!

[I-NO]
You... probably shouldn't have done that.

The speed of the saurian's counterattack is surprising, and with a narrowed eye -- just before Reptile connects -- she realizes that Shang Tsung has poured power into this poor bastard, which would explain an awful lot about this scenario. But a tiny part of her wonders: does he have it to spare, all things considered?

Then she's flying into the boat mast and the issue is academic.

Rebounding off the mast itself, I-No slumps forward for a moment, coughing, then stands up, face unreadable. "If you wanted to get me on a big pole," she bites out, "you could have tried asking nicely."

She has had enough of this Mortal Kombat shit and it shows on her face. She came here hoping to find a few answers and has mostly run into deeply irritating situations like this one. That the sorcerer has decided to take all the randos milling about to hell with him in a last petulant bid for power has used up the last of I-No's already short patience.

Which is why she lifts into the air, toes pointed, guitar in hand, staring Reptile down.

"Once I am done knocking you on your scaly little backside I am going to shove your tail so far up your own ass you'll be able to knot it around your dick like a pretzel, you *worthless piece of shit*."

Apparently, he made her angry.

She strums the guitar. At her side, floating alongside her, I-No summons two perfectly spherical floating amps, about the size of a basketball, each with one... mysteriously flapping angelic wing, one to the left, one to the right.

"I'LL SEE YOU IN HELL, YOU FUCKING FREAK!"

And then she plays. Oh, does she play. And there is maybe a split second, a fractional moment, of warning, before the air between herself and Reptile is NOTHING BUT BULLETS. Which is to say, she straight up goes danmaku on his saurian ass: energy bursts the size of a baseball each in seemingly innumerable, legion amounts POUR out of I-No.

Apparently she is looking to straight up ANNIHILATE Reptile.

[MUNIN]
Like I-no, Munin has had it with this guy......

Everything she's thrown at him so far has seemed ineffective at best, and useless at worst. On top of this, her injuries have continued to bleed. Her moves are exhausting her. It's starting to wear thin.....

When I-no goes all out, Munin decides to throw in with her and do the same! The yellow necklace marking her bit of power in this tournament glows, as do her now brightly-lit purple eyes!

The shadows deepen in a sudden explosion of shadow, blotting out even the moon from view! Then those purple eyes open, glowing in the bleak gloom. Then another pair.... and another.... and another. Soon, there are dozens of pairs of glowing eyes staring at Reptile from all around!

In a blur of motion, shadowy visages of Munin rush from the darkness, attacking from all sides in single run-by swipes! Any struck vanish in a haze of chi-infused smoke, but any that hit Reptile strike as if she herself connected with a blow!

After over a dozen of such strikes, the real Munin comes from the darkness behind Reptile, with a final strike from her chi-infused palm!

The attack completed, hit or miss, the darkness fades, and the moonlight returns as before.

COMBATSYS: Reptile channels the spread of the lightning nerves.

[REPTILE]
After his poor showing in the tournament, Syzoth was ordered to cull the weakest of Earthrealm's defenders, pooling up his power more and more as an instrument of vengeance. The shadowy assassin would be needed as a trump card, in the event of... well, Earthrealm's success.

And that was how he ended up here. The task was simple -- cut the legs of Humanity out from under them as they make their final withdrawal. Leave them without a viable means of retreat. And murder as many as possible in the name of glorious Kombat.

It may have worked as planned -- if not for the last bastion of defenders. Coincidental, that Shang Tsung's own retinue of soldiers might be accessories to turning the tide against him -- for while they have standing orders to run the vessel aground, the galleon's Captain does not seem to be getting in any particular hurry about following said orders. The anchor remains in place -- the ship only lists from side to side as a direct result of I-No colliding with the main mast.

"Ah'd like to be the one bringing down me own ship, lass..." cautions the Captain, sparing a glance to the sorceror -- who, similarly, is not sure how to deal with the upsurge of energy and, er, volume arising from the rock witch.

Reptile springs back around the deck, dropping himself low in a ready stance. He hears more innuendo from the red-garbed one, but has nothing to offer in response but a slither of his long and sinuous tongue.

The threat, well... he knows how to take that. That is to say, there's not really a need to debate that with logic. It's just a threat. He glares back at her, relying on his hearing and spatial awareness to pinpoint the location of Munin...

Unfortunately, hearing is something he loses. Quickly. He claps hands over his earholes as the guitar is strummed. Sensitive hearing's a real bitch, ain't it? Doubling over, he narrows his eyes in an attempt to weave in and out of the seemingly endless hailstorm of bullets hurtling his way...

But he had, in that instant, lost track of the illusive Munin. And the moon. And pretty much everything else on the ship. What the hell...?! In the span of an instant, he loses all sense of equilibrium.

And then the bullets slam into him. Bone armor shatters into clouds of powder. Leather armor is scored, shorn into shredded ribbons, and ripped away. And through it all -- shadowstrikes from Munin slam into him, narrowly avoiding their own impacts from the Red Witch's sound and fury.

It will not take long before clouds of dark greenish blood erupt outward -- as the very fleshy meat of the Saurian is similarly perforated by the explosive attacks. A mere husk of a man staggers backwards, his ravaged flesh painted with his own blood. In some places, bone is visible -- not just his macabre armor, but pieces of his own bone.

Reptiles have the capability to regenerate -- but only if they are able to make their escape.

Beaten, bloodied, and ravaged beyond the capacity for recompense, he withdraws to the edge of the boat. A palm is raised up between himself and his two opponents, shaky and weak. Another palm is inverted, parallel to and facing the deck. The air around him distorts, as if an aqueous membrane were appearing around him, distorting his form.

Indeed -- he begins to turn translucent, as the ship lists from side to side.

"The wrath of Ssshang Tsssung will fall upon you like a ssscythe..."

If he has anything left at all to contribute, it does not occur for the next few seconds.

COMBATSYS: Reptile takes no action.

[MUNIN]
As Reptile turns to leave, a long spear of shadow bursts from beneath the floor through his foot, pinning him in place for a moment. After a moment, another pierces up from the darkened deck through the other foot!

Not far away, one arm holding her abdoman to staunch the bleeding, the other with hand outstretched, Munin walks slowly towards Reptile, eyes blazing. Every other second, another spear of shadowy chi erupts from the ground beneath Reptile, impaling him from more and yet more angles!

Once she's close, Munin presses a hand on the reptilian assassin. Solid darkness spreads from her hand to envelop his body, and begins to squeeze! His head is left uncovered, as his body is squeeeeeeezed to a pulp inside the shadowy energy, until finally his head is squeezed off in an upwards spray of blood and vital fluids!

The grisly deed done, Munin releases her focus, and all the shadowy chi vanishes, leaving a very messy corpse on the deck. She promptly, almost without any control, falls backwards into a sitting position, breathing hard and holding pressure on her wounds.....

[REPTILE]
The shadowy Reptile had already begun to disappear from view -- but even then, he finds that he still casts a shadow in the pale moonlight.

And with that sudden stabbing pressure, he was pulled back into full visibility.

"Why -- do you fight with them?" he had begun to stammer. "They will never ssserve you..."

It will be difficult to ascertain exactly what he meant though -- the decapitated head is no longer capable of mustering the breath necessary to conclude his thought. The severed head lists to one side, turning its gaze first up to Munin, and then to the Red Witch behind her.

The ship -- for what it's worth -- is nowhere near the point of running aground. The Captain holds up both his hands -- for he has no intention of challenging either of the lovely ladies on this fine evening! With a faint smirk on his lips, he notes, "Lasses, you have me at a disadvantage! The 'Abandoned Hope' be at yer mercy -- whatever yer pleasure may be!" Oh, no, you're twisting his arm, stop...

Behind the Captain, the sorcerous navigator draws in his breath with irritation. The boat is surrendered to fighters of a superior martial ability. And unless Shang Tsung or one of his other minions to show up himself to contest Earthrealm's hold on the vessel... well, they have no choice but to yield.

[I-NO]
As Munin slumps to the deck, I-No struts up, brushing off her gloved hands before glancing down at the bit of gore that used to be Reptile. "Fuck. Nice," she says, genuinely impressed. Apparently the ninja was as pissed off as she was. "You know that bitch ain't back for the sequel." Yes that sound you heard was the fourth wall shattering into tiny bits. Ignore it.

There's a pause, a weighty sort of pause in which, if she were literally anyone else, I-No might offer to help Munin up, or thank her for the assistance, or possibly praise her for her tenacity and bravery. Basically anything but leaving her bleeding and exhausted on the deck of the Ship of the Damned.

Instead she shrugs. "Well I'm fucking sick of this place and I can FINALLY go the hell home."

There's a sudden, whipping movement of her arm; careful observers can see the electric blue of her guitar pick soul shard flipping up into the sky and then into the water with an almost comically understated *bloop*, the light within it dying as it does so.

"You know I don't know ALL the details on this little tete-a-tete but I'm pretty sure Shang Tsung's gonna need all that wrath to dig himself out of the five thousand foot hole he just fell into now that whatserface actually *won*. I just, you know..." She glances up toward the palace, as if she's able to see something quite clearly that it would be impossible to actually perceive. "Got this feeling."

She turns to the captain and his sorcerous first mate, and tips the brim of her hat. "You're welcome. Take all comers." She steps a little closer to the captain and leans into his personal space, alto voice pleasantly throaty as she adds, sotto voce, "and if you fucking play me or our girl here, *I know where you live*."

Standing up straight, she puts two fingers to her forehead and salutes. "Well that's enough of this shit for the next 100 years. Later, assholes."

With that, she strolls off the deck and... back toward the island? Which doesn't seem safe. Meanwhile, in the distance, two figures stumble over the sinking devastation -- a woman and a young man -- heading toward the boat as quickly as they can manage.
