Description: It's the L bracket championship, between the bigger-than-life Gan and the blonde haired ninja Maki! Will brawn be enough to topple the ninja who has only lost once? Or will speed and skill triumph? (WINNER: Maki)
THE PORT OF OSAKA.
It's pretty packed here, actually. Since it's the Loser Bracket Championship, of course it is! There's a section that's set absolutely walled off, but clearly visable. A heavily tethered section of floating land that has a raised bit of section in the middle so that everyone can see the FASHION DISPLAY. There is food all around it, cameras all around it, and DEALS AS FAR AS THE PUPIL CAN VISUALIZE. It's not even as far as you can see, it's just as much light is capable of reaching your eyeball! That's how many deals there are. CRAZY ZHIN GOES BEYOND for you TO SAVE.
Of course, sitting nearby in the most rediculously oversized Wokou, white blck and blue and SPARKLING like he was some sort of celebrity is Gan. Who can even imagine!? Imagine that he is STUFFING HIS FACE. "Shrimps pretty good, gyahaha! Crab was kinda bland, but that octopus!" Crazy ZHIN is losing a CRAZY amount of money on food, but it's fine, since he's not actually losing money! Crazy ZHIN will find a way. Chowing down, the Gedo member burns time and stacks on calories.
Surprisingly, Gan has, for once, been told to KEEP THE DAMN HITBIT ON fully. So he will. As the lights light up the harbor right outside the DISCOUNT IMPORT WAREHOUSE, Gan sits on a crate of Cruggs - happy he doesn't have to wear /those/ at least, and wiggling his toes in the wooden sandals.
Maki may have been in the loser's bracket, but she isn't feeling that bad. She got pretty far, and learned some important advice, before being defeated. Coincidentally, it was Ayame who gave her the good advice before defeating her. In spite of this loss, the advice Ayame provided really did well so it wasn't as big of a loss as Maki thought it would be. Nevertheless, she's found herself in yet another fight, this time against a huge guy who's apparently into sumo wrestling... and eating a lot too. Unlike Gan, who's stuffing his face, Maki is simply enjoying a light snack of an energy bar before washing it down with plenty of water.
"It's true I lost," Maki comments to a spectator who asked her about her loss. "But the advice I gained during that fight was very helpful. It was almost like I won in a way myself." She takes another sip of water. "Today, what I fight for isn't determining who is champion. It's about becoming more of a master of my style. It's about proving that women are just as capable of fighting as men are." She finishes her water and stands up, attaching her tonfa to her arm. "I hope you all can learn something too." She smiles a little at them.
Maki takes the time to make sure her outfit is on securely, before kneeling down to tighten the laces on her sneakers. After that, she runs a hand through her blonde hair and waits patiently for the fight to begin as she enters the fighting area. She pauses briefly to make sure her HITBIT is on securely, then she waits patiently. "I entered determined to become a champion. But now I'm learning to do this as a way of learning my true self and proving my beliefs."
Gan doesn't care WHERE he is! Just WHAT he is doing, and this is the important part! Right now he is eating. As Maki worries about how far she gets and how she wants to be a champion, Gan is in it to PUNCH some FACES. Especially those that think they are better than him! They might be, but where else can he do so while ALSO proving he might be better than them!? No-where! So that is why GAN is THERE.
"Gyahaha! Who cares about any of that!" Gan pipes up as Maki makes a declaration about women and fighting representaiton. "All I care about is getting in there and having a good time! Just happens I'm real good at playing for keeps!" The larger teen declares, butting in where he isn't needed before he leaps onto the fighting arena, causing the entire arena to shake and wobble a bit in the water, the waves being tossed left and right, all over, as it steadies and water is displaced.
"Well, I joined to mess up people's dreams!" What?! He just said something else! "I guess. GYAHAHA! Well, it'll make you fight better, right!?" The barrel on Gan's chest also reads CRAZY ZHINS THINGS because somehow they got it on him while he wasn't looking. Billboard and all, Gan joins the ring also, slamming both fists together as he stands tall.
His butt, sparkling in the light, all patriotically.
"So, ladies first?" He asks - to be an ass of course!

Maki can only sneer a little at Gan's all brawns and no brains type of attitude just now. But she doesn't let it bother her really, because she's learned that not everyone shares the same views as her, and that's just something she'll have to accept. "Mess up people's dreams?" She shakes her head disapprovingly. "I hate to tell you this, but you won't be shattering my dreams so easily!" She does a bit of a twirling show with her tonfa. "I've taken on opponents larger than you before, and you know what they say: The bigger they are, the harder they fall!"
Maki waits for the signal from the official to begin, and then Gan offers to let her go first because she's a lady. At first, Maki scoffs at this, believing Gan to be acting in a misogynist manner. But then she sees things from another angle, and decides to use this as an opportunity to prove that, indeed, big things do come in small packages! "All right, if you're going to be such a gentleman about it, then I will oblige you!" She leaps onto a nearby box and, from there, proceeds to launch herself at Gan with her leg outstretched. "I took out several Mad Gear punks with this attack before!"

With that sneer, everything is possible. Especially as she responds to his words! Won't be shattering her dreams easily!?
"GOOD! Gyahahah! That'd be a waste of my time!" Of course there is an adage about this and that, but Gan isn't HERE for adages! He's here for what happens next! Maki leaps into the fray, onto a nearby box, and then launches right towards Gan! Not only does Gan move to take the blow better, putting a massive arm infront of it - the shoulder specifically, he is moving /towards/ the assault. That can only end poorly.
Except it doesn't.
The strike is a sting, lancing through his body with the pain on connection, but he doesn't stop. Gan's arm swings to the side as Gan grasps towards Maki with an outstretched left arm, reaching to get a hold of the likely slippery opponent! "'CMERE!" He declares! Except that's where it stops, too - attempting to swat her downwards as he leaps upwards.
"Let ME do it, I'll show you! I'm no ordinary thug!" The teen declares as he leaps skywards, landing butt first towards the ground. Which, for a moment, is glorious. The light reflects off the pants and shows what is an eclipse of the sun, but more like a disco ball and some pants that only were made of the cheapest materials. For a crazy good deal.
Would it be enough to blind Maki!?

Maki isn't entirely blinded, per se, but she is caught off-guard by the attack. "Show me what you got," She had yelled out, only to find herself being hit by the weird attack that knocks out her vision briefly, while giving her a bit of a headache. She rubs at her temples, trying to figure out if shiatsu truly does work. Eventually, the pain does dull a little and Maki opens her eyes a little. She finds things are still a little hard to look at, but she grits her teeth through the pain, remembering adages about hardship and things like that, and finally back into her fighting stance. She hmmphs a little at that rough start to the fight.
"You're pretty big and tough, but I'm just getting started. If you want to beat me, then you're gonna have to prove that you can tough out the Genryuusai-bushin style. And let me tel you something," Maki says this while stepping towards Gan slowly, each step deliberate and well timed, "I have taken on larger fighters than you, so don't think your size intimidates me at all!" She then attempts to snap her leg forward and strike Gan in his huge stomach.

It's when Gan crashe sinto Maki that he feels everything is perfectly fine!
He is, clearly, wrong.
Slamming into her, the student rolls away, laughing as he pats his knees. His colorful clothing is not helping either! Still, the student isn't bothered. "Gyahah! Well, who cares! I'm not just going to worry about getting started! I'm in it for the long haul!" Declares the Gedo giant as he hunkers down, slamming his foot into the floating arena!
And so Maki DOES come forwards, talking to him about how she has taken on bigger, tougher fighters. "You think I'm going to care!" Gan decalres, amused. "Gyahah! I only care about ONE fight, bitch! And that's THIS ONE!"
As the leg snaps forwards, towards Gan's huge stomach, he attempt sto bash it away with both arms, swinging them so that he can then grasp her!
It's .. a bit faster than he expects. It slams into his stomach with the added force of him charging forwards, causing the man to stagger backwards, Gan staying up but taking quit ethe punishing! "Gehehe.... and don't think I'm going to care." He coughs out, staggering a bit as he forces himself to stand, the pain shooting through him!
The impact of her foot hitting Gan's huge stomach is more than Maki expected. She reels back a little, rubbing at her leg as if she's expecting it to be broken or something similar. Fortunately, her leg is just fine, and that it's just the impact she's feeling. She recovers quickly, and rolls her neck around a little, stopping only when she realizes that Gan used the b-word towards her, and Maki scowls for a moment, before remembering her previous fight. She decides not to let her anger get the best of her this time, but instead use this as a lesson.
"You can call me whatever words you want, but you're only making yourself look more misogynist than ever," Maki says in a stern tone. "Not that you care, most likely, but I'm just offering my advice to you. Then again, I doubt you care about that either." She shakes her head. "In which case, it looks like the lessons I have to teach have to be taught physically! But that's fine with me!" She smirks in an evil manner this time.
"You know, if you had called me that word awhile back, I would be kicking your ass like it's nothing else! But instead, I'm just gonna give you a good, old-fashioned beating!" She attempts to step towards Gan when she's close enough, while at the same time swinging her tonfa at him, in an attempt to let the motion of the tonfa and her step work together to add a little oomph to the attack.

With a grunt, Gan confirms he doesn't care. "The only m word I care about is me!" Gan explains, with a bellowing laugh!
That's about, of course, when Maki begins to talk civility and all of that. It literately goes in one ear and out the other. She smirks, but Gan doesn't understand why. His monkey-brain perhaps is not educated enough to understand the important things in life. He does, however, know the important things in HIS life. Right now, that includes not getting kicked. Which is just /peachy/, really! So as Maki steps towards him again, he expects a kick. Except, there's a tonfa at his face! That's no good! With a swat, his hand swings out to push away the assault, even as it strikes! He falls back a pace as he does so.
"You're DAMN right I DON'T CARE!"
With another belly laugh, the Gedo student confirms this as he takes a step forwards once more! An arm is pulled back as Gan charges, then swung forwards with his unrelenting fury, a palm strike shooting forwads, followed by another, as Gan swings for the fences with all the care-free attitude that only a Gedo Student could involving violence!

"It's your loss, not mine," Maki comments angrily as she watches Gan come at her. "I don't care what you think of my advice. All that matters is that brawn alone isn't the way to go through life! But you just don't seem to care!" Maki drops down, attempting to plant herself into the ground with her tonfa, and as Gan attempts to hit her, she starts to spin around with her leg outstretched, turning into a human whirlwind. Unfortunately, while it may be her signature attack, there's no guarantee it's going to work. And in this case, her attempt to stop Gan backfires severely. Gan swings and hits her hard, causing her to go flying across the area, and making her land in a crumpled heap briefly.
For a moment, there's nothing, then Maki pushes herself back onto her feet. She dusts herself off then holds her stomach in pain briefly. "You're a hard hitter, I'll give you that. But don't even THINK you've won just yet!" Maki advances on Gan again, this time gripping her tonfa tighter than ever. "That was just a lucky break, I'll have you know! Luck doesn't always favor everyone!"
"Yeah? Well it's worked so far!" Gan declares without a second to think. Only MACHINES need seconds, he's above a machine! He's a pain machine - man! Ha!
As he advances upon Maki, strike after strike, the human whirlwind that is Maki is stopped before it could make land-fall. Houses are saved. Families come out from under their stair-wells and count their blessings. Gan is spared the front page, his feet, glistening with red blue and white sparkles, from underneath a house.
Even better, Gan finds out the strike, and then other strike, cause Maki to go flying!
"Gyahaha! Now that's what I'm talking about!" The gedo giant exclaims this as he follows, with Maki only pushing herself back up when he's in range of her! "Like hell I'd want to win like that!" Is the declaration, "Ain't nearly had enough fun!" Of course his idea of fun is /certainly/ not for everyone. Especially as he reaches out towards Maki as she grips her tonfas... and aims to grip something very untonfa like!
Specifically her neck, massive hands aiming to cut the flow of air just a tad!

Maki opens her mouth to make a reply to Gan, but she decides against it, and decides it's better to focus on what Gan has planned next for Maki. She's already been the victim of underestimation numerous times, and she doesn't want to risk that again. She narrows her eyes slightly, but keeps a stern glare on Gan. "If you think this is fun, then maybe you should get a job as a bouncer at a bar or something? I bet there are ones which need them big time. You could probably earn big money kicking out rowdy patrons!"
Before Maki gets an answer, though, Gan's hands come at her neck, and attempt to squeeze the life out of her! But Maki's already prepared as she places her hands and arms on her neck, defending herself against the incoming choke hold. She keeps Gan from choking her like he intended, but Maki can only breathe for a few more seconds. Not wanting to suffocate, she attempts to drop out of Gan's arms and then attempt her signature move once again. She does this by first letting her body go limp, then dropping into her attack when she hits the ground.

But a bouncer is a JOB and he can't just beat up people-willy-nilly! That hardly sounds fair, or enjoyable!
As his arms fail to wrap around Maki, Gan finds that there's a sudden return of the tornado! Something happens, and there's a signature move that probably involves spinning! Gan is knocked away due to the force, though it's close to say he 'skids' away due to the force, due to the whole nature of things! Skidding away, Gan is certainly left at the mercy of Maki - but the attack ends. So maybe not!? Coming to a pained rest, but still on his feet, Gan shakes his head back and forth. "Gyahaha... guess you got me good there, but I'm still standing!"
Which means Gan CAN STILL FIIIIIIGHT - and so he /does/. The Gedo giant charges Maki once more with arms wide open. The attempt, however, is not simply to just punch the woman. No, this time he grasps for her leg as she stops spinning, intending to flip her over and use her like a wrecking ball, to swing her straight into the ground and then repeat the process on the other side of the wooden arena!
"Gyahaha!"

Maki thinks she has this made, but she's underestimated Gan once again. Even if he is brawns and no brain, he still can grab her quicker than she can react. Instead of avoiding Gan, she's caught and finds herself becoming a human wrecking ball... and then again. This leaves her in a bit of pain and feeling like the butt of a bad joke. Almost like she made herself look like a fool on purpose. Once the debris is cleared and the smoke settles, Maki reappears, looking badly beaten and bruised.
"Unngh... I thought I'm supposed to break the containers with my tonfa, not my body!" Maki comments as she shakes her head out a little. She looks to Gan and realizes that she might be getting a bit in over her head here. "You're pretty tough, I'll give you that. But the fight is still going on. I'm going to give you a chance to come at me, and see what happens!"
COMBATSYS: Maki focuses on her next action.

With Maki beaten and bruised, Gan is quite clearly ... doing good!
"Gyahaha!" he belts out once more, staggering forwards. All that punching made him /really/ ready to go again! Extremely so. Which is why the Gedo giant has no problems walking towards Maki who is forced to pull herself up from the debris and ground in order to fight off the ravaging Gans! With the heroine in trouble, what will become of her!? Well, she seems to be making her /last stand/, based on what Gan can see, and as she makes such a comment, Gan has to laugh, stopping for a moment. "Maybe, but today things change!"
Then Maki tells Gan to 'come at her'.
"That some kinda threat? A promise? Well YOU BETTER, cause HERE I COME! Gyahahahah!"
Without missing a beat the gedo teen slams his sandals against the wooden floor as he picks up speed. The pants shimmer in the light, leaving what may seem to be a trail of colors as he charges! Sales skyrocket. What was once just a few steps became a galloping charge before almost an outright sprint, the sumo teens arms once more spreading wide. Which, if Maki isn't ready, would find Gan up in her personal space with a hand, massive as it is, around her midsection.
Before she'd be rudely slammed straight into the ground, only to be lifted once more and then tossed backwards, with Gan following her down to wrench her body even more!
How did the fat boy move so fast!?

Maki watches Gan carefully, thinking she's got the upper hand here. She thinks she can strike back at him when he comes at her. But when he tries to grab at her, Maki instinctively blocks instead. She finds herself struggling to break free, which causes her concentration to lapse, and when she breaks free, she finds herself wondering where she went wrong. "Did I zig when I should've zagged? Or something like that?" She wonders for a moment, before shaking her head. "Learn from your mistakes, Maki! Time to go again!"
Maki looks at Gan and hmmphs again. "You were fast that time, but you need to learn to control your speed when you're under attack too!" Maki runs at Gan and attempts to hit him extra hard with her tonfa. "Otherwise, you'll wind up beaten up and bruised!"
COMBATSYS: Gan endures Maki's Power Strike.

With Maki blocking the grabby assault, Gan manages to at least throw off some of her concentration! Which leaves her in a /predicament/. Especially once she shakes her head once free! Gan isn't letting up though, not at all! Especially not as Maki, looking at Gan, hmmphs! "Gyehehe. Control my what? No way! All I need to control is the other guy! Or guys! Or whatever!" He isn't exactly one to care about specifics. Especially not while he looks SO FABULOUS.
Probably why Gan decides the better way of valor, after getting struck by the tonfa in the face, grins. Wait. Why is he grinning!?
Perhaps because as Maki struck him, he reared back, as if to topple over! Except one leg, pulled up, does not move. "Yeah, but I'll be WHERE I WANT TO!" Exclaims Gan as he slams his foot down! The sheer impact causes the ground to shockwave around him and then erupts upwards in a flash of chi, throwing Maki backwards if she wasn't fast enough to react!

Maki saw Gan's foot rise, and she figured he was going to stomp the ground, so she tried hopping back a little. But she had no idea just how powerful Gan's stomping truly was. She found the chi increased the power of the impact, and she was knocked away, hard. She landed on the ground in a crumpled position once again, and this time she had a lot of difficulty picking herself up. Once she was up, she gasped for air as she tried to ignore the pain in her body. "I've made quite a few mistakes this fight. You may think you have the upper hand..." Maki sputters out, "But don't get cocky just yet, big guy!"
Incredibly, Maki takes a step towards Gan. "Because when an opponent is in serious trouble, they can bring out their biggest surprises!" Maki steps towards Gan again, a slight aura forming around her. "I usually save this for last, but since I'm having some difficulty here, and I think you've got a bit too much of an upper hand, I think it's time I show you my biggest technique!" Maki's aura increases more and more. "I bet you'll have a lot of fun with this one!"
Maki's aura then becomes a glow, as her body becomes full of her chi, and she dashes at Gan, intending to strike him with a flurry of tonfa strikes with a few kicks mixed in for good luck. If she succeeds, Maki will finish it with a flying kick that should knock Gan away!

It comes. Because Maki is obviously talking. "DON'T. Want. To . HEAR. IT!" Gan exclaims as he stomps, especially as she is talking. Stepping over and over, slamming his foot into the ground multiple times, Gan doesn't let up! Not even as Maki approaches him!
Still, the aura, glowing as it does, comes with Maki, striking him over and over with strike after strike! The impacts cause Gan to falter, but he /never does/.
Wait, yes he does. Even after he tries to grab her, the strikes were too much for him and finally the flying kick sends him spiralling away, slamming into all the crates, one after another! Yet even then, even as his butt is the GLOWIEST THING in the stratosphere for a moment, the Gedo giant must come back to earth, a mere mortal.
A mere mortal that staggers to his feet. "Gyehe... kinda hurt actually.." He groans, rubbing his head, before he staggers forwards. "Ain't all you got though, is it?" He asks.
Maki can't believe that her last-ditch effort actually worked. Of course, once all the chi leaves her body, and her energy returns to normal, she hunches over and begins panting once again, trying to get more air into her lungs. "Of course, it's not all I have. I have a LOT more ready than this!" She wipes her forehead with her free hand. "I'm just showing you that you shouldn't underestimate a fighter when they're down but not out! Turns out you had a good intention, but you need more training to overcome that!" She takes a deep breath and blows it out slowly as if to try to get a little extra air into her lungs.
"Of course, I'm not done, and neither are you. I may lose this match, but it means nothing to me since I came so far during this battle." At least Maki's acknowledging the possibility that she may lose, instead of trying to be arrogant about it. "The question is, are you ready to accept the possibility of defeat?" Maki strides towards Gan, albeit a little sloppily due to her lack of stamina, and attempts to strike him with her tonfa.

Teetering already, Gan puts the rest of his might into one final go!
"Gyahaha! All I came here for is to beat up people... YOU INCLUDED! So I'm not going to just - " And then Maki strikes towards his mid-section with the tonfa, slamming him against the face with such an assault! Finally, it seems, as the Gedo giant goes to grasp Maki, that everything is over! That the man would take her and slam her against the ground! Yet... it was not meant to be. Glittering as he does so, Gan's body suddenly freezes up, leaving him to collapse against the ground, body going limp as he falls to the ground with a deafening crash. Staring upwards, he frowns.
"Does this mean I cantake off this stupid armband, yet?" The student asks, unable to actually move.
"YO. Someone do it for me instead!" He yells out, "Just... catching my breath..."
But things are over... he's clearly not getting back up!
As Gan hits the ground with a crash, Maki steps back, covering her eyes in a cartoon-style fashion. She watches, still breathing heavily, waiting for Gan to get back up. But he doesn't, since apparently he underestimated Maki this time. And Gan has lost the match. But Maki is not in the mood for gloating or celebrating her victory. Instead, she looks to Gan and shakes her head. "I'll admit it, you had potential to defeat me, but you threw it away near the end. You got ahead of yourself and it cost you the match. Maybe next time you'll know better." She removes her armband and then proceeds to walk off, ignoring the cheers of the spectators who were supporting her.
Maki walks out of the area, not looking back or anything like that at all. She pushes away interviewers and instead heads to the designated area for medical treatment and things of that nature. Yes, she became a champion today, but that doesn't mean anything to her right now. Apparently, the words that Ayame told her in their previous fight are still resounding within her. She hopes that her point about women being equal to men was proven, as well as the fact that brawn alone doesn't equal victory.
