Description: The vigilante known as Skullomania uses the Rumble in the Streets as an opportunity to dig up dirt on the nefarious antics behind the scenes, but a conveniently timed fight from HitBit suggests that he's being watched. Is Pepper Green an agent for these villains or is she just an innocent pawn placed in Skullomania's way?
Wearing a brown trenchcoat over his costume and a fedora over his head, Skullomania sits in a restaurant over the Ebisubashi in Osaka, sitting across from a man that calls himself only 'LR'. They met on the internet, in the course of Skullomania digging around about the potentially corrupt Minister of Economy, Industry, and Trade. As they chat, LR eating sushi and Skullomania eating or drinking nothing, Skullomania peers at photographs of a srange woman. Hair pulled back, dressed in black, white half-coat over her top, and eye wear. Mysterious. As LR pays the check, while Skullo looks at the pictures, his phone goes off. It's time for a fight. Damn. Skullomania looks at his text message, blinking rapidly at the location. Just downstairs. His chest tightens as his hands ball into fists. He's being tracked. The entire tournament is some sort of fraud. As LR takes off running through the back, Skullo's eyes dart to the door. He sees a Rumble committee member flagging him down. Skullo puts his hat down on the table, and reaches behind him. He quickly pulls his mask on and stands, slowly walking downstairs and outside to the fight.
"SKULL! O! MANIA!" come the chants from the Japanese gathered for the fight, as Skullomania removes his trenchcoat, with the envelope inside. He slides the Hitbit devices on his head and wrists and ankles, looking around, suddenly paranoid. There's no theatrics, not what the crowd is expecting. Just the body language of a tiger that's being tracked in the jungle by a team of trappers. He looks behind him, at the restaurant. The fight committee member is there, smiling. Skull's hands ball into fists as he looks forward for Pepper Green, then cracks his neck.

Waiting.
For some reason Pepper Green has been sitting here on the bottom floor of this restraunt for three hours after she received a notification of where the fight was supposed to be. They Rumble in the Streets team even set up a taxi to bring her here the moment she arrived in Osaka.
What makes it all the strangers is that there wasn't a clear notification of who her opponent would be, or even what time she had to be there. None of her other fights had had this much advanced warning without the expectation that she'd show up and start fighting right away.
Oh well, nothing left to do but sit and watch the people go by. Most likely thanks to the fact that she's still dressed with her auburn hair in practical braids, wearing her wool-lined jacket and cowboy boots, there are a few fight fans that recognize the girl as she waits.
The few autographs she's convinced to sign are done with a carefully practiced unpreparedness, and it would be a challenge even for a hand-writing expert to think those were done by the same hand as the new Lightning Spangles. Lightning Spangles and Pepper Green are two completely different people as far as Pepper is concerned.
By the time the RumbleApp sets off, she's practically forgotten why she was here in the first place, looking around momentarily with a spot of confusion. By the time she's sorted out the information, she's just in time to look up from the picture of Skullomania on her phone to see the real thing coming down the stairs.
"Guess it's show time," Pepper mumbles to herself as she puts the HitBit back on. Flipping the power switch to on, she winces as an unusual electrical shock zaps out of the system.
...and from there it's only a small leap, she pulses electrical chi from her body around the HitBits and lets out a wild (overly dramatic perhaps) scream as she rises from her chair and knocks over the table.
"Something's... gone... wrong!" Pepper chokes, managing to hold back from hitting Shatner levels of overacting.

Skullomania sees Pepper Green, but he's exceptionally wary and keyed up about this fight. It's another young girl, like the ones they've been throwing at him. Is he being set up for something? He grits his teeth behind the mask, not looking at Pepper but around her, around him, and at the restaurant from the street outside. He takes a step backwards, slowing his breathing and briefly meditating, before he raises his hands in a kung fu stance. And then, Pepper Green gets electrocuted by her HitBit. He pauses in the fluid stance, tightening up and lowering his arms slightly in concern.
His gaze snaps down to his own HitBits, then back at Pepper. She's also being set up! He whirls around at the audience, paranoia spiking through his system as he breathes rapidly and sweats. He turns to face Pepper again, politely waiting for her to recover from the shock she's just been given. This is bad. This is very bad. He holds his position to see what Pepper does, with none of his usual theatrics. A breeze blows by, newspapers fluttering past as his red scarf flaps in the wind.
This is how you set the scene. There is something weird about the HitBits, Pepper noticed that the last time when she was fighting Alice. Whether or not it's intentional, it at least gives some sort of perspective for the fights.
As for Skullomania... if it wasn't for the scarf, it would be obvious that he's some sort of evil bad guy, but the scarf means that he's probably supposed to be a hero-type, and it doesn't really work for a Hero to be fighting against a fourteen year-old-girl, does it?
No, clearly the answer here is that he's supposed to be doing something to either defeat her as a villain or to protect her. That little shock was just the right inspiration to get things moving.
Now stumbling around between tables, Pepper seems to be struggling to control her body at all... and then she reaches the service cart in one of the open spaces between all of the tables. With a series of carefully prepared motions, she plants her hand down on the metal cart and sends a sizzling pulse of electrical chi through, it before motioning as if she's falling. With a touch of sleight-of-hand, she gives the cart a push on her way down that should practically look as if the cart were barreling down on Skullomania through it's own will, or even an incredible magnetic charge.

Skullomania sees the food cart flying at him at breakneck speeds, bracing himself and slapping his hands forward. It slams into him with a loud metal clatter, bouncing off him and sending him stumbling back several steps. Well, if the girl still wants to fight, the girl still wants to fight. He charges forward at her, dashing across the ground with quick bootfalls, as people cheer his name. Normally, he'd be showing off for them, posturing, posing, feeding on the attention to his middle aged ego. But not tonight. Tonight was serious. He needed to end this fight and get out of here, this was a trap.
The masked hero leapt forward at Pepper half way between them, before dropping into a slide across the ground that created a long squeak across the waxed floor. He slid forward, boots aimed at her crouched form to knock her backwards and send her flying into the lobster tank behind her. His right elbow dragged across the floor, protected by his suit, preventing him from going too far as he near her and straightened his arm, slapping his hand down in a hand push. The result was his legs flying off the ground and outwards at Ms. Green.

The downside of dramaticly hitting the floor is that you aren't in a position to get back up very quickly if your opponent goes for the hit instead of paying attention to the dramatic structure.
As Pepper finds herself unable to react in time to do much about Skullomania's sliding assault, she wonders if perhaps she'd gotten his intent wrong. Maybe he was going for "Elite Bad Guy" instead of "Hero." Skull looks usually are reserved for the villains, after all.
There isn't a whole lot of time to be concerned about that as she's sent flying back against a lobster tank, hitting it hard enough to send a spiderweb of cracking glass up across the surface. As she pushes back away from it, still overselling the electrical feedback, small trickles of water begin to escape from the tank full of now agitated lobsters.
Now, the question is to how this fight is supposed to go. If he's willing to attack after a girl is hit by electrical pulses that steal her ability to react, then he must be playing the villain. That must make her the encumbered hero.
"I... can't give up just like this..." Pepper croaks awkwardly, looking as if she's trying to overcome both her bonds and her new injury. "Gotta... try to stop this!"
With her call to action set, Pepper takes a few ungainly steps forward that build slowly to a charge as strength of will overcomes all else. Launching herself up into the air, she hops up to a table as part of the assault and aims to catch the back of Skullomania's head, pulling it in as she launches a knee spike at his face.

Skullomania turns to sit after sending Pepper flying, before he pushes himself into a backwards somersault. He pushes off the ground with his hands mid-roll and springs up into the air, landing on his feet to cheers from the audience. He notices Pepper's plight from the HitBits, grappling with himself. He finishes the fight fast, he gets out of here and back to his modest apartment. If he helps Pepper, he could be incapacitated and captured by the Yakuza or whomever is running this conspiracy. But he can't play his hand. He squints, before he comes up with an insane plan. Just insane enough to work.
Pepper jumps onto the table after charging forward, Skullomania letting her grab his head and slam her knee into his face. He pushes backwards as his face is smashed, sending himself flying backwards into the buffet table. Plexiglass breaks and metal bends as he slams into it, left sitting on the ground after sliding down to his butt. He slowly pushes himself off, and suddenly glows with chi, motioning Pepper forward as he builds energy.

Skullomania [E] 1/-------/<<<<<<<|====---\-------\0 [E] Pepper
As soon as her hit lands on Skullomania, her HitBit device surges with electricity. Not the chi that she'd been using as part of the gimmick before, but a genuine power surge that's even bigger than the one she got when she pit it on for the first time. How they're able to keep functioning while being overwhelmed by some sort of extranerous power... well, that's anyone's guess.
A single moment is offered to take a look at the furious storm on the horizon. It's just now getting close enough that the thundercracks are able to be heard even with all of the craziness going on at this restraunt.
Nothing to be done about that now. Sooner the fight is over, the sooner she can take off this crazy HitBit.
From her bounce back position atop another of the (now very messy) tables, she looks at the open path between her and Skullomania and grins (inside) about what's laid out for her. Kicking back into action, Pepper starts leaping from table to table to close in on Skullomania, lashing out with her feet just as she reaches the last one to flip up one of the empty chairs behind her, snatching it out of the air with both hands so that the front of the seat is facing away from her.
With an incredible leap, she launches into the air, twisting around so that she's facing away from Skullomania, and the chair is just over head. If he can't get out of the way, the seat of the chair comes down right atop his head, busting out as the legs catch on each side of his shoulders. The downward motion of her own fall, hands still on the frame of the back, acts as a lever, lettinger her drop low and flips Skullomania overhead with her temporary chair catapult.

Skullomania locks his eyes on Pepper as she is again electrocuted by the HitBit, wincing beneath his skull mask. Then, he hears the thundercracks, tingles of electricity running over his skin. This is bad, for both of them. He remains in place, swirling with orange chi, as she perches atop a messy table, his gaze jolting this way and that as she jumps towards him. His hands rise slowly as she gets closer, preparing to deploy his crazy strategy. Then, as she grabs the chair and leaps up above the fray with the chair coming down at him, he strikes.
Skullomania leaps upwards into the air headfirst, the chair breaking over his head and shoulders as he flies through it. He grabs Pepper's head and wraps his fingers around the HitBit causing her so much distress, in a desperate ploy to remove it. His fingers attempt desperately to find purchase as they hang together in the air, Skullomania's feet perching on her as she falls downwards, before he thrusts his legs and flips off her. He flies over the buffet table and lands on the other side, looking down at his hands. Empty. Damn. He looks back up at Pepper, watching her with the long table full of sushi and other seafood delights between them.
The thing about HitBits is that they are designed to be worn into a professional fight by professional fighters. If they can survive encounters with fighters like the World Warrior, then obviously they need to be able to stand up to some rough action. This means that Skullomania's attempt to yank of Pepper's results more in her hair becoming increasingly messy, with some of it being yanked free of her braids and now hanging any which way around her head.
Then she ends up hitting the floor from the assault, which is probably a bit more core to the whole fight situation than having messy hair (which, thanks to the extra charge of the HitBit is now starting to stand up with static electricity).
Right, new strategy. Going straight for it hasn't proved to be very useful, and it's really difficult to tell just what type of costumed fighter Skullomania is trying to sell. Some people were chanting with him, and that suggests hero, but he attacks without reservation, so maybe he's a villain. It's also possible that he's an anti-hero of sorts; like one of those late-to-the-party types in a Sentai show.
Clearly she needs to study the scene a bit more if she wants to figure out the right way for this to play out.
COMBATSYS: Pepper focuses on her next action.

Skullomania [E] 1/------=/=======|======-\-------\0 [E] Pepper
Skullomania lets Pepper get back up, watching her carefully. The HitBit is still on, and that means Pepper is in continued danger. He'll just have to deal with it. He pauses, wondering what his own devices are doing. While she recovers, he fingers either device, before shrugging. Not enough time to investigate. He just feels faster when wearing them. That's probably it.
After Pepper recovers, Skullomania jumps up onto one side of the buffet table, before pressing his hands down onto the peak of the sneeze guards on either side. He pushes himself upwards and over, doing a handstand and flipping down to face Pepper. He swings his leg upwards, flying above Pepper's head, before he brings his heel down on her shoulder. He's still paranoid, but some of the fight has left him, and he's getting more comfortable with ignoring his surroundings in favor of the fight. Not a good sign, he tells himself in the back of his mind.
In the corner, a Rumble official quietly reaches into his discarded trenchcoat, taking his envelope of photographs and tucking them away in the official's jacket. The official then backs into the crowd, taking advantage of the cheering fans as a diversion.
COMBATSYS: Pepper dodges Skullomania's Medium Kick.

Skullomania [E] 1/------=/=======|======-\-------\0 [E] Pepper
There are advantages to watching your opponent closely. One of those advantages is that it's not especially hard to see that your opponent is preparing to chop you in half with an axe kick.
The disadvantage (although Pepper doesn't know enough about the situation to realize it might be one), is that you don't notice at all when someone starts riffling through other people's coats to steal things.
The important point to the fight is that as Skullomania goes high and then drops low, Pepper kicks off to the left, taking to the floor and rolling under one of the currently unoccupied tables to get more room between her and Skullomania.
Popping up on the other side of the table, Pepper actually starts to bring the table up with her. Having hooked her arms around the legs closest to her (although it's hard to see that with the table cloth in the way), she ignores all of the tableware and furnishings that go sliding off to the floor. She grunts furiously with all of the effort required, then begins a quick, reckless spin to build up a bit of speed before she launches the giant piece of furniture straight at the masked man while she goes stumbling backward from the force of it.
Of course, if he manages to get out of the way, the buffet is probably wrecked.

Skullomania [E] 1/----===/=======|======-\-------\0 [E] Pepper
Skullomania's foot slams down into the ground as Pepper escapes, Skullo's fists at abdomen level in an ox stance after the maneuver is complete. He looks around for Pepper as she rolls under a table. And then, he sees the table get hefted up by her, blinking rapidly. He takes a step backwards, fists opening in trepidation as she hefts the thing up and begins spinning it. He looks left and right quickly, looking for some place to escape to, but it's all for naught. The table goes flying at him, flipping through the air awkwardly at the trapped vigilante.
"AUGH!" Skullomania shouts as the table slams into him and sends him flying backwards into the metal buffet line, breaking it into two uneven halves as he's sent flying backwards. The crowd gasps in shock as the fan favorite is levelled under a table and parts of the buffet, along with hot, steaming seafood and sides. There's a moment of silence, before the table shatters into pieces as Skullomania's fist flies through it. He slowly stands, breathing heavily with his shoulders low and his arms sagging, breathing heavily. The crowd makes a low sound, expecting something big.
And they will be rewarded.
Skullomania lifts his shoulders and arches his back as orange chi explodes around him, a wave of energy flying over him. He feels a renewel of his energy and vigor, before he charges forward, smelling of raw fish. He jumps over a part of the buffet table laying on the ground between him and Pepper, landing on his hands and springing off at a table. He slams through it with his feet, the table bursting to pieces, before he jumps diagonally at Pepper, sliding to a halt on the floor with his fists up and his left leg straight and foot turned inward. He then dashes straight at her, lashes out with a flurry of punches and kicks, and finally a judo flip to the ground.
The crowd roars with approval.

High position coming in hot.
What's the best strategy here? He's moving fast, not a lot of room to maneuver with all of these tables here.
Clearly the best hope right now is to intercept and put him down. Perhaps a little more reach will be required, however.
As Pepper eyes Skullomania coming straight for her, she lashes out with her left hand, snaring yet another chair. The masked man comes in and she swings up as hard as she possibily can. Time to send him flying, bust the chair into scrap wood on him!
...Or the chair could slow her down, not quite getting far enough by the time the first hit lands. It sends her reeling, the chair getting lost from her grip and awkwardly flipping across the floor a few times before coming to a halt (incredibly) in perfect seating position at relatively stable table.
The rest doesn't work out so well, as Pepper is blasted repeatedly with furious fists before being slammed into the ground hard enough to leave a dent.
Skullomania, after delivering Pepper to the floor, takes a moment to flex in front of the crowd, applause sounding out. He then flips backwards on a single hand, before backpedaling away from Pepper. He begins doing kung fu stances, performance ones, summoning himself back to his childhood when he'd do the same thing for his mother's rich socialite friends. Except now, he enjoys it. Orange chi flickers around him, as he feels a rush of praise and acceptance from the crowd. Now he's completely in this fight, ignoring the Rumble Tournament Committee's machinations. For the time being, at least. There was something magical to being loved by so many, at such a time. For just a few moments, Skullomania is flying over the ocean, his wings flapping back towards shore.

Skullomania [E] 0/-------/---====|=======\===----\1 [E] Pepper
It takes quite a bit of effort to get back up after hitting the floor hard enough to nearly create a Looney Tunes style indentation, but with Skullomania backing off, Pepper has quite a bit more room to move and to consider her options.
The first things to notice is the fact that he's doing some weird stances. Stances that give off the impression of some sort of... bird. Okay new question, how do you deal with a bird when you don't have weeks? The first answer would be something like a shotgun, but the other one...
Yank them back down to your level!
Another crack of lightning (still growing ever closer) sends an electric jolt through Pepper's HitBit and creates the spark of inspiration. Shoring up the energy inside of her, electricity begins to surge out along her body, settling down her arms, reaching out to her fingers.
And then, like a spider, she lashes out, tendrils of electric chi jolt out from her fingers tips in an attempt to curl around Skullomania's smoothly moving limbs, to lock him in place, sizzling him through his costume before she draws her hands together, clutching the electric chi like ropes on a parade float... and then wrenching about furiously as she aims to plow Skullomania through the remaining table settings in a wide circle.

Skullomania completes his final kata as he hears the lightning crack, then turns to face Pepper in a raised, defensive stance, forearms infront of him. But it's not a physical assault, instead coming as Pepper's natural chi. Skullomania was unprepared for this show of severe power. The web of voltage grabs him and shocks him, his back arching as his skeleton (the real one) is briefly visible through his outfit. "AYYYYYYYYYYY!" he screams, shaking and convulsing, before the dragging starts. He's swung around the restaurant in a wide arc, slamming and smashing through the remaining tables, until the entire establishment is completely destroyed. As the torture comes to a halt, he lays on the ground, twitching and smoking. His eyes roll backwards, briefly, before he looks up and curls forward, sitting up. His costume is torn and tattered, part of his actual mouth visible on the mask, and his scarf has been torn to shreds. He sucks in a low, deep breath, before standing.
"You!" he shouts, pointing at Pepper with his right index finger. He then dashes forward in a sudden explosion of energy, before diving forward. He rolls across the ground and into a slide kick, blazing at Green with incredible speed. He pushes off the ground as he gets close, wrenching his body around as his legs spin upwards in a bird kick at Pepper, eventually flying straight off the ground inverted, locking eye to eye with her at the apex of the attack. His mouth can be seen grinning at her, in a friendly manner.

Skullomania [E] 0/-------/-------|====---\-------\0 [E] Pepper
Alright, this is clearly the big finale of the hero/villain battle. Everyone is on the edge of their seats.
The question remains, who is the hero here and who is the villain?
Skullomania has people chanting for him, he's got a scarf, and he's got a fancy costume.
But Pepper is a 14-year-old girl, and Skullomania very much... isn't.
If she'd known what she was coming in for, Pepper would have tried to find some sort of stupid costume to make this work better, or at least to give her a more reasonable chance of trying to copy what Skullomania was throwing out. Instead this comes across far more like an East vs West battle, with her as the noble young country gal fighting the dynamic, costumed crusader.
For the time being, probably better to focus on not being obliterated by the incoming assault. As Skullomania comes flying straight for her, Pepper seems prepared for the first time in this fight to give defense a real opportunity. Legs back into a locked position, arms ready in a stylish sentai crossblock, she carefully wards off as much of the red hot kick as she can using her forearms instead of her face. Even with her legs locked in position, she still ends up stumbling back a good few feet to rest up against a mess of a table.
Alright, now it's got to be time to figure out how put an end to this fight before it gets much more complicated.
Eyeing the surroundings, Pepper sets eyes on the perfect opportunity: A broom. What better tool to use to clean up this mess!
Making a wide arc toward the employee area (from which there are plenty of wait staff looking horrified at the current condition of the restraunt), Pepper snatches a broom out of the waiting hands of one of the bus boys who seems to bewildered to offer much restraint. Turning the arc back around, she comes barreling down on Skullomania, kept low as she makes a circuit around the intervening debris. Getting in closer, her fingers clench tight on the handle and she comes in hot, swinging up and out as hard as she can with enough force to send Skullomania flying through the front window, the last remaining piece of unbroken restraunt.

Skullomania sees the broom comig flying at him wide, and crossing his forearms low to block the broom's handle as it flies at him. He grunts and feels the pain, muscles flexing as he feels pain quiver up his arms. His wrists twist about as he grabs the broom, attempting to hold it in place and push it backwards at Pepper. "Not bad, kid! But Japan is the land of Skullomania!" he says in an enthusiastic, cheeky fashion, finally getting friendly with the fourteen year old westerner. He thrusts his arms upwards, hoping to pull the broom and Pepper's stance high.
Skullomania twists around with the broom, tossing it aside with a turn and swinging his leg up and around. It flies about at Pepper's upper body, aimed high and fast, but most likely easy to block. "Huzzah!" he announces as he moves through the heel kick from the side, spinning about on his anchoring boot on the ground.

"It ain't matter where you from or where you are, all that matters is whether or not you've got the guts to go for it!" Pepper shouts in retalliation to Skullomania's claim on the country. That felt like it was an appropriate thing to say in one of these sorts of hero fights; it sounds sort of inspirational, but it doesn't have to have a whole lot of actual thought and meaning behind it.
Now comes the more important part of shouting inspirational things in a fight: you have to do something sort of cool afterword or you look like an idiot.
As Skullomania goes high with his sweeping kick, Pepper goes low, slipping a leg in behind his pivot point and using every ounce of forward motion she has to slam her elbow dead center into Skullomania's solar plexus hard enough to send him crashing to the ground. Of course, there's no real way to stop the rotational motion, and even with the masked hero going down to the ground, his leg is still enough to catch a clean hit on the side of her head with his heel, sending Pepper into a violently rotation.
She was already pretty badly beaten, and so even with a hit like that, Pepper starts to fall, hitting the floor mere moments after the man with the broken mask.
Skullomania feels the elbow to his solar plexus, his eyes going wide in shock as his entire world flashes with pain. He hits Pepper with his heel but can't land his leg as his other leg goes slack, spinning to the ground along with Pepper's own violent rotation groundward. He falls onto his face, stunned and unable to get up, wheezing. He pushes himself upwards weakly, his lower body not responding, before he collapses forward on his face, exhausted and barely conscious. He drags himself a few yards, towards the door, before he passes out with a gutteral groan. It's over.
The crowd goes wild, cameras flashing as the two warriors and their wrecked battlefield are photographed. This was quite the fight.
