IHST - Inter-High School Tournament: Hyo vs Daigo

Description: The semi-final involving Hyo and Daigo into the epic battle between Justice High and Gedo High.

Justice High is ready to witness something amazing. Two of the strongest within their respective schools, battling in the semi-finals. Within the main courtyard, a large ring of square stone has been settled, cordoning off roughly a twenty by twenty foot area upon the grass. A large number of students have congregated, standing at attention in a great horseshoe around the proceedings. There is room for Daigo to arrive and enter, but little more.
And standing in the center is the familiar man, wearing his crimson coat with golden shoulderpads. Similar colored pants are tucked within black boots, hair swept into a high and long ponytail reminiscent of swordsmen of old. His sword is sheathed beside, scabbard blade, with a white gloved hand resting atop the hilt.
His eyes are closed, stance loose, until Daigo finally arrives. What is strange is that there's not a single word being spoken, eyes appearing almost eerily unblinking as they observe unflinching the preamble to the fight.
"...Daigo Kazama. You disappoint me. I thought we had come to an understanding. Yet still you play these games, while the puppetmaster is poised to leave. Is your desire to honor Gedo greater than your desire to protect the schools?"
Slowly he shifts his stance, assuming a loose but potent iaijutsu stance. "No matter. Justice is safe. It will be unscathed. I am only here for one thing..."
"You. These people are here to observe how powerless such a half-baked ambition is... compared to mind. You are not prepared." His eyes seem strange. Already, he is using the Imawano techniques once more.
His true goal in this fight is far more insidious. But the less that the Might of Gedo knows... the more successful it will be. Only in the heart of combat when his soul and resolve are bared will he be able to awaken the implanted command, and irrevocably sic the one-eyed dog upon Gedo's principal...!
This... will be his catalyst!

This battle would be the clash of titans. Both figuratively and metaphorically speaking. The two young men who were facing each other were the most promising ones of their respective schools. Two schools who had very different ideology and background. There was only spite at what Hyo and his school represented, though this scorn is well hidden underneath his stern facial facial expression.
The imposing man forces his way through the crowd. His physique enough to push through gently without shoving anyone, but still. Few students from Gedo risked themselves to cheer their boss on this fight, and Daigo Kazama knew this would only make this battle all the harder. After all, he barely won his last match against Athena, and it was all thanks to the presence of those he fought for.
Once he walks on the battleground, Daigo folds his arms against his chest and narrows his eyes at Hyo, "Patience is a virtue, Hyo," He replies, "Have no fear, I will not stand by idle while this happens. Soon," Is Daigo's answer.
As Hyo shifts into his combat stance, so does Daigo, his feet spreading wide, his arms open to attack, "The only thing they will witness is the strength of my resolve and conviction," Daigo growls back at Hyo, "And how powerful one who defends those oppressed by people like you can be,"
This was a decisive battle for Daigo -- overcoming Hyo would prove that effort and resolve and overcome even thre greatest of obstacles. He could not fail, not when so many counted on him to show that Gedo High students weren't only all no-good delinquents.

While Hyo attempts to use his technique and stands still, vulnerable, Daigo takes this opportunity to strike first. Little does he know though about Hyo's true intents with all of this. Daigo charges the Justice High student, swinging his right fist back. With a loud and powerful growl, he hurls his fist right for Hyo's midsection, his forearm engulfed in bright crimson flames when he does.

COMBATSYS: Daigo successfully hits Hyo with Phoenix Fire.

"Not soon enough." is all that Hyo states. His eyes seem to shimmer slightly, attempting to lock them with Daigo's good one. Patiently, slowly, working to worm his way within his mind. This requires a significant amount of concentration however... and the monstrous assault by the man opposite is not lacking in resolve. The charge forward is met by the hilted blade being brought upwards. The flaming fist bursts through it like it's not even there, slamming into Hyo's midsection with ferocious force. The wash of flame makes the closest students step backwards, but his expression does not widen in pain, and not a word leaves him. Sliding backwards three meters, he falters and nearly kneels, blackened ash revealing the red imprint of a fist upon his torso.
"...I see. Your resolve is indeed strong... when properly utilized." And then he rushes forward, betraying a slight limp at the onset before leaping into the air. He unsheathes his sword in a flare of chi, descending in a savage slash aimed at Daigo's midsection that would sink the sword deep into the stone as if made if butter, letting out a light "Hnn!" as he attempts to return the favor -- and then some! "But I shall judge whether your words bear weight. Show me more."

COMBATSYS: Daigo endures Hyo's Tenraizan EX.

The tall man slowly straightens himself back. His movements seemed so slow, lacking grace and agility, except for the sudden outburst of speed when the man attacks and lunges at his opponent. His valid eye stares coldly back at Hyo, "My strength is the sword of the oppressed, of all the students that counts on me. You have my word, Hyo, I will never let any of them down, and I shall protect them with all my might,"
When Hyo leaps into the air and unsheathes his sword, Daigo knows he lacks the speed to avoid Hyo's deadly assaults. Where his body can endure and withstand punches and kicks, his sword will prove to be more troublesome. Unable to move away in time, Daigo opts for something reckless -- a vain attempt to defend himself from this attack. His left hand moves to intercept Hyo's blade, grasping it into his massive hand. The chi and the sharp edge cuts through his flesh, blood gushing over his hand as it cuts through his flesh and muscles, the bone stopping it. Despite Daigo's bulk, the blow makes him growl in pain as the blood spurs down and stains the grass and Hyo's blade.

He holds the blade a second, enough to disable his left hand and cause him excessive pain, most likely. He pushes the blade aside and lets go of the blade, but while he forces Hyo close to him, the man attempts to counter by swinging his right hand into a might back hand to Hyo's face.

COMBATSYS: Daigo successfully hits Hyo with Phoenix Backfist.

"...!" Catching his sword was the first time that Hyo has been surprised. He did it without losing his limb; that means he clenched it so fast the cutting force was stopped in time. His skin is certainly not hard enough to resist the legendary steel blade of the Imawano so casually. If he simply let go, then he could easily evade. But he does not. Only when Daigo hurtles it aside, giving him no recourse but to eat the blow to the face. His ponytail whips up, blood spattering the ground.
This time, Hyo falls to his knee. "..."
Suddenly he begins to shimmer with energy, leaping backwards with preternatural motion. Sheathing the blade, he slowly closes his eyes. "As I thought." is all he comments, although it doesn't seem to be related to what he said. Building up the dark energy within himself, suddenly Daigo would feel another presence behind. At that exact moment...
Hyo is there.
It is as if he teleported. From both ends, one a shadowy spectre of manifested energy, Hyo has his blade half drawn. But... he doesn't follow through. Instead he slowly, raspingly sheathes it, allowing the energy to dissipate.
Before all of the stored energy erupts, assailing Daigo's mind. "Patience is no virtue here. Act soon." This is a more forceful command, meant to ambush him in the midst of expecting a savage blow, when his instincts are most vulnerable to suggestion.
He then stands up slowly, looking dignified despite the obvious damage he hides. "I accept your determination. It satisfies me. ...There is no merit in injuring you unduly. The very point of this tournament, I believe, is to cause the school's greatest fighting assets to injure themselves. I will give them no such satisfaction."
He turns then, beginning to walk away. "This meaningless victory is yours. But the time will come... when I show you that the foundation of Gedo means nothing before Justice. And my own personal goals. ...Do not let me down, Daigo."

COMBATSYS: Hyo takes no action.

The blood dripped abundamently from Daigo's hand, despite him clenching it to try and lessen the bleeding. His hand was covered in blood, and blood dripped down into the grass. The tall man's resilience and endurance were legendary, and his courage in battle boderlines recklessness.

Daigo straightens himself up, keeping his valid eye on Hyo as his brute force proved to be enough to force Hyo to one knee, which is quite a feat in itself.

The tall man doesn't notice the energy that built up around him -- until it is too late. It assaults his mind, implementing those suggestions, pushing even further and showing him the urgency of actions. It seems to paralyze him for a moment, his eye widening. This sensation sends a shiver down his spine.

Hyo's power prevents him from realizing his influence over it. The slightly confused look over Daigo's face enough of a clue to show that his techniques of intrusion in his mind had been succesful. He shakes it off after a moment though.

Daigo frowns at Hyo's words and waits. "We will settle this once and for all one day, Hyo," Daigo mutters under his breath as Hyo turns around and begins to walk away. Of this, he is certain... Hyo concedes victory, for now... And as soon as the outcome of the tournament is no longer on his mind, all of Daigo's thoughts are focused on one thing.

Stopping the Atelier Group before it is too late.
