Description: First round of the School Tournament : Daigo Kazama against Yuri Sakazaki right in Taiyo's auditorium. The underdog gives it her best against the mighty colossus of Gedo High, but will resolve be enough to defeat his might of steel? [Winner : Daigo]
The first round of the tournament had finally been revealed : Yuri Sakazaki of Taiyo High versus Daigo Kazama from Gedo High. It had been decided randomly that this fight would occur within Taiyo High, in the auditorium, allowing countless students to witness this fight.
After all, the reason behind this tournament was to promote the good relations between the schools, after Daigo Kazama and a group of Gedo High students came into Taiyo and assaulted some of their students /and/ the principal of the school.
A loud cacaphony came from the auditorium : students from Taiyo, but also other students from other schools were tolerated in the auditorium. The audio-visual club even set up a large screen to allow others to see the fight more closely and they set up cameras to record the fight live.
Daigo is already there, waiting for Yuri's arrival. He's on the stage, arms folded against his chest, staring at the distance, obviously lost in his thoughts.
While Daigo is busy being lost in thoughts on the stage, Yuri is making her own entrance. She's walking in to the cheers of her fellow schoolmates, and she's stopping to greet them with a big grin. "I'm gonna kick butt and prove that Kyokugen is the coolest style in the world, just like Taiyo High is the coolest school!" This gets more cheers from her buddies as she strides along towards the stage. When she finally reaches the stage, Yuri does a forwards somersault in the air and lands on top of it, getting another round of applause.
After that, Yuri does a few light stretches to limber up, before facing her opponent. "Hello, I'm Yuri Sakazaki," Yuri says with a big grin on her face. "I'm here to fight you, and to show you just how awesome Kyokugen Karate truly is!" She cracks her knuckles and rolls her neck around a few times. "So let's get on with this, shall we?"
Yuri's entrance and her prowess are enough to earn a faint smirk on Daigo's lips. After all, her energitic and cheerful behaviour is somewhat contagious. Perhaps this young girl was blissfull unaware of who he was? Or perhaps she was totally fearless.
Daigo turns on his heels to face Yuri and he bows his head gently in greeting. "It's a pleasure, Yuri," He says. He lowers his arms and gestures for Yuri, "Show me what you've got, Yuri..."
This whole tournament was too important for Daigo to go easy on Yuri unfortunately, but he seems to give her the initiative so he can gauge his opponent.

"Well, if you want a demonstration of Kyokugen Karate, then you're gonna get it!" Yuri grins even bigger this time, looking to the crowd and giving her trademark gesture of a thumbs up with a wink. Then she looks back at Daigo and assumes her fighting stance, bouncing on her heels a little as she stands in her stance. "This is one of the coolest styles in the world, so I hope you're ready!"
Yuri takes a few steps towards Daigo, keeping a close eye on him in case he's got something up his sleeve that Yuri might not be aware of. She slows her approach then stops completely, before suddenly bringing her fist behind her and then shooting forth a fireball at Daigo!

The tall man lifts his hands up, getting into his own combat stance. His movements were slow and calculated : if Daigo had any sort of sneaky trick up his sleeves, Yuri might be able to see it coming ahead of time.
His single valid eye scans Yuri and assesses her motions as she approaches him. He doesn't bulge an inch, at least until she moves her hands back and summons this fireball into her hands and hurls it at him. Too slow to move out of the way, Daigo remains in the path of the projectile. He raises his broad forearm to intercept the projectile, shielding his face and body from it, letting the flames catch momentarily on his jacket. The heat makes him wince, but Daigo shakes his arm off to extinguish the flames.
Daigo dashes in Yuri's direction : his speed and agility when the hulking man lunges at her quite unlike the reflexes he displayed when he tried to defend himself. He quickly makes up the distance between her and him and he swings his right to deliver her a powerful side-sweeping kick to her midsection.

Yuri can only watch with slight disbelief as Daigo blocks that fireball with his forearm. She seems a bit surprised by it, but not too surprised. Instead, she simply shakes her head and says, "Looks like I need some more training with that technique!" She grins while saying it, before reassuming her fighting stance. When Daigo comes at her with that leg of his, Yuri quickly reacts, bringing her arm down to deflect the leg away, but grimacing in pain as she feels just how hard that kick truly was, all the while knowing it could've hurt worse if she hadn't blocked. "Owww!" Yuri says, shaking her arm out a little, before letting go of the pain and looking at Daigo again.
"Not bad, you got me pretty good there, but I'm just warming up!" Yuri says as she carefully watches him, circling him slightly as she does so. "Once I'm warmed up, there's no stopping me, so watch out!" Yuri adds as she goes in fast with a Kyokugen-styled hook punch.

Considering the man's built and his musculature, the kick that followed his charge on Yuri could have been pretty devastating, especially considering the girl's slender frame. His foot lands loudly on the dais' floor with a loud *thud* with the remaining force of his kick.
This close to Yuri, Daigo decides not to guard himself against Yuri's attack, willingly leaving himself vulnerable so he can more easily retaliate. The tall behemot leans back, as if offring his chest to her punch, flexing his muscle in an attempt to harden his muscles and make her feel it.
Daigo's eye winces a bit though but he conceals his pain rather well -- something he's learned to do from months and months of fighting in Gedo High.
As soon as Yuri's fist connects with Daigo's abdomen, Daigo's massive hands attempt to get a hold of Yuri's forearm.
If she doesn't manage to squirm out of his grasp, Daigo uses his strength to lift her off the ground. He turns on his heels and swings her over his head to slam her against the ground, as if he was using her like some hammer.
"Make sure you don't push yourself too far, I wouldn't want to break you!" He says.

"Owwwww..." Is all Yuri can say as her arm is caught. Then she's lifted up into the air and then slammed to the ground. Hard. This causes a lot of gasps of shock from the crowd. Yuri looks like she's been KO'ed, and some might think there are birdies flying around her head. But Yuri then opens her eyes and, despite the pain she's in, manages to roll onto her stomach, then push herself back up. "Ohhh..." Yuri groans as she feels her arm. She looks up at Daigo and does a double-take. Did he really just do that to her? Now Yuri's really mad, as nobody makes a fool of her in front of her schoolmates! She's really burning up now!
"That was just a lucky catch," Yuri says sarcastically. "I'm gonna make you feel what happens when you make me mad! GYAAAAAH!" Yuri rushes in, attempting to go in low at first, then rise up with her trademark clone of the Dragon Punch, made famous by Ken and Ryu, but given the unique twists of Yuri herself!

The reaction from the crowd, along with the noise the dais makes after he slams Yuri against it makes Daigo's grasp on her forearm loosens up. After a quick glance at her, it felt like Daigo had knocked her out cold. Instead of slamming her against the ground again and again to deliver a decisive coup de grace, Daigo decides to let go of her arm. He was honest, after all, when he said he didn't want to break her, but it seems he went a little rough on her with that slam.
He lifts his gaze up toward the crowd of students who are gasping in shock and staring at the scene. Then suddenly, the crowd seems to go wild. Their reaction surprises him : he lowers his gaze down at his feet to see Yuri, but she's already springing back to her feet with a rising uppercut.
Her fist hits him square under his jaw. Too slow to react, caught off guard after he thought he had knocked her out cold. The powerful blow is enough to lift the massive man off the ground, a few inches at least, knocking him back almost a feet. He takes a step back and regains his balance shortly after, growling in anger and pain. He lifts one hand up to his jaw and chin, rubbing his hand against it.
"Not bad... You got me there.." He says, narrowing his eyes at Yuri. His lips curl into a smile and he says, "I'm afraid I can't let you win though -- there's too much at stake for me to lose this," Daigo says.
Daigo takes a step foward to cover up the distance between him and Yuri and he swings his large fist straight for the ground at Yuri's feet. His strength causes the dais to crack, injecting it with gushing flames that erupts like a geyser. The explosion sends debris flying upward along with the flames meant to engulf and knock Yuri back. Looks like Daigo decided to rise this up a notch as well.

Daigo can take things up a notch all he wants. Yuri is ready and willing to take him on in any way he wants. She narrows her eyes at him and stares, smiling a little bit. "Let's get this going big time, I'm ready for ya!" She brings her hands up, but doesn't attack. Instead, she simply sends her chi into her hands, sending an aura of chi around them and forming a makeshift shield of sorts.
The shield stops Daigo's attack completely. This leaves Yuri unharmed, although it does leave her a little out of breath for a moment. Nevertheless, she seems to have gained a bit of alertness. "That was pretty cool, wasn't it? Come on, let's keep going and make this a cool fight!"
When the smoke from the blast clears up, Daigo straightens himself up and blinks as he notices Yuri has managed to remain totally unscathed by his attack. There's an obvious expression of surprise on his feature for a moment, before it fades away into a pleased smile, "Hum, looks like I have misjudged you,"
He nods his head, concurring with Yuri's words, "Very well then!" He says, his hands tightening into fists. Daigo lunges foward in Yuri's direction, lifting his arm toward his opposite shoulder to take a swing. He hurls his arm in Yuri's direction in a massive arm sweep meant to knock Yuri's smaller body away using weight to empower the blow.

Daigo wants to knock Yuri away, does he? Well, Yuri's not going to let that happen so easily! She brings up both arms and crosses them slightly in front of her, planting her feet into the floor as the attack comes at her. The attack strikes and hits hard, causing Yuri to slide back a little as her arms drop to either side in pain. "Ungh..." Yuri grunts a little, gasping for air a few times before looking at Daigo again. "Not bad, I guess. But I think it's time I really kicked things up a notch too!"
Yuri brings both hands behind her back. "Better hold on, because this will blow you away!" Yuri says as she focuses her chi into her hands. "Can't say I didn't warn you!" She adds as she sends forth a huge fireball aimed right at Daigo.

"You're definately tougher than you look!" Daigo say through his gritted teeth as Yuri manages to block his arm. He uses his weight and strength to push and shove Yuri away. Her heroic stand against this juggernaut obviously impresseses the crowd.
The students from Taiyo shouts and cheers for Yuri, "You can do it Yuri! Yuri! Yuri!" The students shout, proclaiming her name. After all, Yuri was the underdog and came from this school, and she has managed to defend herself quite well so far.
When Yuri charges up her chi into her hands, Daigo charges at Yuri : he's not even attempting to dodge it or defend himself, he literally wants to -dash- through her projectile. Fortunately though, it seems her massive firebal is enough to block this behemoth. Daigo growls in pain, unable to pierce through it. His toughness and massive frame prevents him from being knocked back by the force of the projectile, but it definately stopped Daigo's charge straight there. He staggers a bit : curls of smokes apparent on his jacket and some marks of burns on his face and hands. When he recovers from the daze of the pain, Daigo swings his fist right for Yuri's midsection.

There was absolutely no way that Yuri could have avoided that punch. She gets hit directly in the midsection and the wind is knocked out of her. She doubles over, gasping for air, while the stars start to spin again. Yuri is knowing she's on the way to the ground, but she doesn't want to go out without a bang. In fact, she wants to show one last trick to Daigo before she's down for the count. She takes a breath, in hopes of summoning just that last extra bit of chi into her body. She plans to land one final attack if possible.
A blast of chi comes from Yuri as she rushes at Daigo, attempting to leap into him and plant both of her feet into him. If successful, she'll land a flurry of stomps onto him... before falling flat onto the ground!

It's surprising how such a little thing can actually hit so hard. It never ceases to amaze Daigo -- the tall man fails to move fast enough to block Yuri's first kick, and once she has started, the onslaught of repeated kick to his midsection forces him to flail his arms around in an attempt to maintain his balance and not fall.
Daigo staggers back and manages to stand on his feet still, pushed back by Yuri's flurry of kicks. He growls in pain and the last few kicks finally make the giant crumbles down much as she does, his fall followed by a loud *thud* that covers whatever noise Yuri's body would make when she falls on the ground.
Both stands on the ground for a few seconds, but Daigo is the first one to squirm and force himself back to his feet. He slowly rises, his eyes fixed on Yuri's frame who seems totally spent and exhausted and immobile.
A school official who was monitoring the whole fight comes in, "And the winner is... From Gedo High, Daigo Kazama!" He announces. The fight had been brutal, and obviously most of the attendance had been rooting for the underdog Yuri but still, Daigo gets a round of applauses nonethless.
