Or will Kyo’s fearsome lineage prove too mighty! Will Kain wind up killing THEM BOTH? Find out on this Saturday Night Fight Main Event! (Draw Match)

Another Saturday night, another Saturday Night Fight...

...MAIN EVENT.

For the second week in a row, the reigning World Warrior champion finds himself embroiled in the main event, thrust into the spotlight, like some kind of horrible spotlight hog. Of course, his match the previous week could best be described as a /massacre/, though his two opponents fought their hardest. Which just goes to show you that no matter how pure of heart or mighty of bear wrestling you are, there are things you just can't overcome.

Kyo Kusanagi is just such an insurmountable object.

In the background, the crowd roars and the announcers announce, listing the fighters and the stipulations of the main event, most of which seem to involve the whole striker thing; otherwise it's just a straightforward beat 'em up, right? And finally, one of the arena doors opens, and in strides the figure of Kyo, shoes thumping audibly on the wooden floor.

The Kusanagi heir looks up at the crowd, and he smirks a bit to himself, basking in the adulation. It's a definite dichotomy about the overconfident young fighter; on the one hand, he likes it when people acknowledge how awesome he is. But on the other hand, he gets really upset when people start in on that whole 'hero of Southtown' thing after he saved those people from the hospital. Somehow, he thinks, that's all Vega's fault. Or maybe Igniz'. Or hell, it could be Geese's fault.

He'd really like to pee on that guy's grave.

"Okay," declares Kyo, raising his voice just a bit for the benefit of those who might hear him. "Where's whatserface, anyway? Still trying to get her hair and makeup just right?"

Backstage: Chun-Li is, in fact, adjusting one of the silk brocades covering her ox-horn hairstyle, making sure it's just right and won't come off too easily. These things are expensive, and she's trying to make do on an internationally famous professional athlete's wages.

When the announcers announce her, she makes her entrance, giving the roar of the crowd a polite smile; a few waves as she walks to the center, but that's it. She seems much more focused on Kyo Kusanagi, that poor sassy boy who still hasn't quite grown up yet. Chun-Li doesn't think it's her place to mother him, but she hopes that kicking him in the teeth so hard he gets a spontaneous nosebleed may help teach him some important life lessons about humility and manners.

"Hello, Kyo," Chun-Li says, voice calm and serene. "I hope you're as excited for this match as I am. It should be quite challenging -- for both of us." There's a smile, and a very gracious bow that makes her huge, spiked training bracelets rattle just a bit.

All that's left now, is the CHAOS AGENT...

Being a striker isn't of particular interest for Kain, but there are certain dues that have to be paid when you're dealing with an entertainment industry. And it does offer the opportunity to smack Kyo around a bit, which is a plus. Heinlein strides into the arena, stopping at the side, between Kyo and Chun-Li's starting positions. He glances at both of them, then uses his right hand to tug on his left glove, adjusting the fit. "Well, you two know the rules. Just call out when you want some brief assistance."
And then Kain settles back to wait. Quite literally, after snapping his fingers results in a SNF staff member wheeling in a chair, which Kain takes a seat in. No point in wasting energy, is there? One might think that sitting down would hinder his ability to provide assistance in a timely fashion. That remains to be seen. And it's a question that the audience is asking, which will make things all the better when Kain does show it to not be a problem, helping his image. If he can't get any good training out of this fight, he can at least use it to help keep himself looking good to the fans.

"Ugh," mutters Kyo, rolling his eyes at the arrival of Kain R. Heinlein, with his girly flowing blond hair and his dumb red eyes, and his copycat fire. If there's anyone that Kyo Kusanagi would /less/ like assistance from, it... It.. It would probably be Iori Yagami, actually. Or a supervillain. "Yeah, you sit on your fat ass and take a nap, Blondie. I've got this in the bag," Kusanagi says, jerking his thumb towards Chun-Li. Who, if you want to get technical, he didn't even answer when she addressed him.

He's getting to that.

Looking over at Chun, Kyo tilts his head to one side, and then rolls his shoulders in a shrug. Someone else he has a hard time dealing with, since historically his smartass remarks and general abrasiveness have passed over the World's Strongest Woman without making much of an imprint. "Sure, it might be really challenging for me to stay awake," Kyo allows, with a nod. "Tell you what, High Kick Girl. I'll give you the first shot, huh? C'mon."

Kyo leans forward, sticking his chin out and helpfully points at it. "Right there. C'mon."

Chun-Li shows Kain the same courtesy she showed Kyo: a graceful, shallow bow and a winning smile. Her attention returns to Kyo just in time for him to be a huge jerk to her -- which, to be fair, she saw coming, and is able to endure without any shock. She just laughs patiently when he demeans her, letting it roll off of her back; call it conversational tai chi. "You're too kind, Kyo." Whether she means this or she's sarcazzing him is really anyone's guess, she says it with such a straight face.

Chun-Li lifts one leg, bending it at the knee and assuming a tense, ready stance -- meanwhile, Kyo jabs at his chin as if to distract her from the target. She ignores his pointing hand, his running mouth... and his chin, too, actually. And her leg snaps outward, a white boot screaming toward Kyo's throat.

Suddenly, it's on like Donkey Kong.

Kyo already has his hand out there, so when Chun-Li's foot snaps speedily towards his throat, the Kusanagi heir doesn't need to spend much, or indeed any, time deciding what to do about it. Kyo's hand lances out to meet the Tai Chi fighter's foot, catching it before she can kick anything he needs to keep breathing. There's a slap of booted foot on gloved palm, and a sting of pain runs up Kyo's arm, but it's a sight better than what he might've gotten.

"Ehh, I give it a five out of ten," Kyo says, releasing Chun-Li's foot and then lunging towards her, swinging his right fist around in a hooking punch aimed at the woman's face. Fire, of course, trails behind his fist, and if he strikes anything at all, a burst of flame erupts at the point of impact. Kyo keeps right on truckin' if that first punch lands, stepping in and driving an elbow down on the top of Chun's head, hoping to drop her at least closer to the ground, and finishing up with a downwards-angled punch and a second blast of sacred Kusanagi flame.

Hopefully, the floor isn't especially flammable. But it's /definitely/ not particularly comfortable.

The flamin' fist of the flamin' young man slams into Chun-Li's spiked bracelet, angled in such a way that most of the blow is absorbed by the jewelry. The fire, however, is not, and for a brief moment Chun-Li's forearm goes up, ignited by Kyo's potent chi. "Tt!" Chun-Li hisses as she swings her hand away, using her other arm to block the next strike -- with much the same effect -- and then both for the final blow. Chun-Li's arms are left feeling raw and singed, but she remains confident as she adjusts her stance. She flows like water -- and that can handle any fire, right?

The Mistress of Tai Chi considers how best to handle Kyo. Clearly, he's strong, quick, and feels like he has something to prove (his own superiority) in all situations ever. This, Chun-Li decides, is a dangerous combination, and so swiftness and more than a little luck will be necessary. The best approach then, may be the most direct one: so as Kyo is recoiling from his own punches, Chun-Li suddenly and swiftly moves forward. Her arms, hands smarting from the lingering burning sensation, grab at his shoulders -- and all of her considerable strength goes toward the task of making Kyo hit the ground. Hard.

COMBATSYS: Chun-Li successfully hits Kyo with Koshuu Tou.

Problem: Kyo's follow through on that particular technique... Might be a little bit too much.

The World Warrior champion's eyes widen a little bit as, after successfully (mostly) defending against his speedy attack, the Strongest Woman in the World reaches out to grab him by the shoulder. Partially, this is because he knows he's in a bad situation... The rest of it is because he's surprised, nay alarmed, to see Chun-Li using her /hands/ in a fight. That's just weird. Like seeing Heavy D! kick someone. Or Dan Hibiki not be terrible.

"Crap," croaks Kyo, as he gets straight up thrown into the ground. He tries to roll with the impact, but it doesn't work out the way he was hoping, and instead he takes the full brunt of the landing, wind rushing out of his lungs. The young man rolls to the side anyway, putting a bit more distance between himself and Chun-Li before he gets up, considering her perhaps a bit more seriously than he was a second ago.

But it's a hairsbreadth of a difference.

Raising his right hand, Kyo summons fire there. The flame rages in his upraised palm, and that flame is a focus for him, drawing out his energy and the power of generations of Kusanagis since the dawn of history. "Hey, that was pretty good!" Kyo says, his manner perhaps alarmingly congratulatory. "Maybe you should work with your hands more often huh? Huh?" He nods, knowingly.

COMBATSYS: Kyo gathers his will.

"I'm famous for my kicks," Chun-Li says, quickly moving back into a more ready stance as soon as her hands leave Kyo -- she had counted he'd try to strike her from the ground, or at least set one of her shoelaces on fire. "But tai chi is about using the entire body, Kyo. Focusing strength in one place is foolish -- it has to be able to flow through you, to go where it's needed at any given moment." She smiles to punctuate the lecture, even though part of her wonders if the boy listened at all.

After all, Kyo, seeming genuine in a compliment? Obviously some kind of trap.

"Of course, I also trained long and hard in other disciplines," Chun-Li says, moving toward Kyo while at the same time circling around him. The lecture begins anew as Chun-Li keeps herself in motion, with the patient grace of an old master. "The key is not to put faith in any one element, even your style -- but to make sure that /everything/ in the world can be an advantage."

Chun-Li suddenly lunges in, one foot leaving to balance her as her torso more or less goes horizontal, palm rocketing toward Kyo's stomach. "For example -- Kain?"

And suddenly Kain isn't sitting in his chair anymore. The wheels on the chair don't even move, yet Kain is suddenly rocketing forward, coming at Kyo from a right angle to Chun-Li's assault. He's not fast enough to actually beat Chun-Li's palm strike, but it's still quick enough that if you blinked you might miss it. For the last part of the journey to Kyo, Kain leaps into the air, twisting his body to lead with his right leg as he tries to slam a flaming foot into the side of Kyo's head, then kick off him to flip back to his feet.
And whether he hits or not, Kain follows it up by calmly walking back to the sidelines. Hey, he's in no rush.

As Chun-Li delivers her lecture on the nature of fighting, it becomes obvious that Kyo is... Not paying attention. His eyes unfocus, his gaze becomes a little glassy. He might be looking at her chest.

It's not until the woman actually starts moving at him, not to mention calling out to Kain, that the Kusanagi heir is brought back to the here and now. "Oh no," Kyo says, completely sarcastic terror in his voice. "Two people attacking me at once! Whatever shall I do?"

Both of Kyo's arms move, flames still raging as his left hand meets Chun-Li's palm strike, palm against palm, while his fiery right hand - the sacred flames spreading to his forearm - comes up to meet Kain's kick. He doesn't even /look/ at Kain, his attention instead fully focused on Chun-Li herself. A slow smirk pulls at Kyo's mouth. "I guess I'll do /that/," he says, clearly highly amused with himself.

Now, Kyo is presented with two options. Either he can continue fighting as if Kain didn't even exist, and maybe in doing so show himself to be the biggest of all big dick playas... Or he can succumb to his petty 'no u' urges, and bring Kain to bear on his side next. It is, after all, part of the match, right?

Besides, that guy sitting there taking his ease just pisses Kyo off. It's that fact that decides him.

"No rest for the wicked, Blondie. GET BACK IN HERE," Kyo calls, suddenly lunging into Chun-Li's personal space, throwing an elbow towards her sternum. If he catches her with that, Kyo twists and thrusts his other hand out, grabbing for the woman's throat; from there, he'll lift her right off of the ground for a second, before unleashing a frankly ridiculous amount of fire, an explosive burst to send Chun-Li flying away even as it burns her.

Kain pauses, looking back over his shoulder when Kyo calls out to him. He just looks at Kusanagi for a long moment as the other man closes the distance to Chun-Li. Oh well. The rules are the rules, so Kain can't exactly deny Kyo's request for assistance. But that doesn't mean he has to be nice about it. He slowly extends his arm as Kyo is reaching for Chun-Li, black flame starting to swirl in the palm of his hand. Once the limb is extended the black fire expands into a massive fireball, which launches forth toward Chun-Li. And if Kyo gets singed a little bit... oh well.

Kyo              1/---====/=======|=======\-------\1          Chun-Li

It all goes wrong somewhere in the middle of Chun-Li attempting to kick Kyo in the face and slap away Kain's fireball in the same moment.

She literally does /slap/ the fireball, giving the ebon flame a cruel and merciless backhand that Gen might look upon proudly. It defies the laws of burning, and Chun-Li doesn't seem remotely concerned with that. Her hand, for the duration of the smack, effectively becomes inflammable material, capable of striking that which cannot be struck. It's a neat trick.

Less neat is how her kick goes wide -- or maybe it's just timed wrong, a heartbeat away from that exact moment it needed to reside in. Instead of lashing at Kyo's jaw, he just seizes her while her leg is extended, his chokehold forcing her knee to touch the opposite shoulder. A less limber person would have hyperextended something at the very /least/. Chun-Li is still in pain regardless. Then, the flames.

Pinned in this horrible position, Chun-Li is subjected to a molotov cocktail of angry young man spunk exploding beneath her. It is just as gross as that sentence made it sound, because have you ever seen what fire does to tights? Chun-Li is left with legs that are literally /ablaze/ as her dark hose pretty much just melts into nothingness, and it's only because of special science considerations (half the world spews fire, after all) that she is not left in need of a skin graft. She may, however, need a chiropractor, as she lands on her neck awkwardly, struggling to regain her bearings as smoke pours from her burnt gams.

That is, all things considered, an extremely satisfying result for Kyo.

He watches Chun-Li sail away, and he doesn't really notice anything about his fire doing damage to her pantyhose or whatever; give him a minute, he'll probably make a comment then. The /reason/ Kyo doesn't immediately turn around and be as offensive as possible to his opponent is that, well, Kain just went and got his attention. "Hey!!" shouts Kyo, pointing right at the blond man. "You did that on purpose, you petty little Barbie doll!" Kyo is not going to stand for this. He is tempted, very briefly, to go after Kain himself, /right there/, and to hell with the match.

Kyo looks back at Chun-Li righting herself, then looks at Kain. Back at Chun-Li, then at Kain again, at whom he glares warningly and points one last vigorous time. Then, he turns his attention back to the Strongest Woman in the World.

Shaking his head, Kyo gives her enough time to at least get back onto her feet, before he stalks determinedly towards her. "So hey," Kyo wonders, as he walks. "Did your panties burn off too, or what?" That said, Kyo reaches for Chun-Li, aiming to flip her right over his shoulder and smash her into the ground, before he /follows/ her onto the wooden arena floor, dropping his weight on top of her like a sack of particularly impolite bricks.

Kyo              1/--=====/=======|=======\====---\1          Chun-Li

Chun-Li's legs are still letting off wisps of grey smoke as she climbs back to her feet, and she's a bit unsteady on them. It's only natural, after all, when one's legs have been bathed in flame. Perhaps that's why she doesn't dodge as quickly as she could have -- instead, Kyo gets her by the qipao and her spine tastes the floor, before her torso gets a liberal feeding of Kyo's body mass. She lets out a loud grunt of pain, brown eyes jolting open from the shock of Kyo's impact. Again, she's left prone, but this time she seems to force herself into a second wind, doing a quick kip-up to the applause of the crowd. Blood trickles from one nostril. God knows why. Maybe Kyo broke her organs.

"I won't even dignify that with a response," Chun-Li says, flatly and calmly, bringing her arms up and keeping her legs bent -- despite the pain she's in, she forces her body to obey her, to resume its fluid fighting posture. "Kain," she states, just as calmly, before suddenly /rushing/ the young sassmaster.

Chun-Li's leg shoots up -- and then fires, again and again and again, a blur of white boot and base-tanned leg as she lashes out with the fury of a machine gun, seeking to touch Kyo's chin with her heel from every possible angle. This is only the start of it, though. Should that go through, her intent then becomes to strike Kyo with a brutal enough kick to launch him into the air -- and then to follow him there, unleashing her trademark Spinning Bird Kick at a positively dangerous height. It's a bit like an F5 hurricane in famous-Chinese-lady form -- blue chi so bright one almost needs sunglasses seethes and crackles around her legs as she tries to hammer Kyo into aerial oblivious with every spin of her upside-down body.

Kain hasn't bothered to sit back down, which is just as well. He did, however, make it back to the sidelines, turning around to face the action once again. So when Chun-Li calls out to him, it does take a very brief moment for Kain to get back into the fight. This gives Chun-Li an opportunity to get her kicks off... and Kain isn't particularly eager to step into the thresher of Chun-Li's spinning legs of doom. As she begins to finish, however, Kain has the opportunity to lunge in, reaching for Kyo's throat with a burning hand, intending to throttle the uncouth young man while at the same time engulfing his head in flames.

At this point, things go poorly for Kyo Kusanagi.

When Chun-Li begins her furious assault of kicks, Kyo attempts to catch the first one... Which proves to be the wrong plan, for a variety of reasons; the end result is that Kyo is caught quite fully by Chun-Li's vicious foot assault, launched into the air and then Spinning Bird Kicked /also in midiar/, which is a) totally sweet but also b) incredibly painful. After what seems like an eternity, gravity finally gets Kyo back in its loving embrace, and the World Warrior champion crashes to the wooden floor.

Just in time to see Kain.

Muttering something impolite, Kyo tries to deflect Kain's grab, but can't quite make it - wonder why! - and gets both throttled and also set on fire, which no doubt Kain R. Heinlein finds immensely personally satisfying. By the time he's either released or able to fight free, Kyo staggers back, looking extremely worse for the wear. He settles into his casual Kusanagi-ryuu Kobojutsu stance, and his shoulders shake a little as he laughs hoarsely.

"Nice, nice. Come on, then," Kyo says, beckoning. "Let's see what else you got, Chun-Li."

Chun-Li lands from her blitzkrieg ballet on pointed feet, settling back into a loose stance and bending her leg one way, then the other. Some people crack their necks intimidatingly. Chun-Li just cracked her knee. This may be a sign of damage to her joints, but who knows.

"Thank you, Kain," she offers to the blonde warrior sweetly, and then Kyo gets up.

Chun-Li is ready for his challenge, even if she's looking a bit slower on her feet than she might typically be. Still, a worn-out Chun-Li is more dangerous than many fighters at their peak. "Very well," she states, ready to oblige the boy.

Chun-Li swoops forward, moving swiftly as she comes up high to grab at Kyo -- by his collar, no less. The way she rears back, a headbutt almost seems imminent, but it's just the first stage of swinging her knee up uncannily high to try and clock him right in the chin with it. The knee-lift is just part one of a two-part attack, though, as she intends to follow through on that intended impact with a nasty upswing of her bared leg, to pop Kyo into the air with a kick to the teeth.

Kain says, "Just as planned."

As Chun-Li does indeed oblige him - as he was pretty sure she would, he knows her 'type' - Kyo's mouth slowly pulls into a smile. Just a little closer, that's right. Maybe he can't get out of this unscathed, but he'll at least be able to give the Strongest Woman in the World something to remember him by.

Kyo's right hand comes up; it is on fire. That fire builds and builds, the closer Chun-Li gets to him, and when she grabs him by the collar, he too rears back, though mostly with his right shoulder and arm. So her knee comes up, and strikes him in the chin, and his head snaps back. And at that moment, that exact moment, Kyo says something.

What he says is: "EAT THIS!!"

Kyo springs violently into motion, swinging his right hand forward and unleashing an enormous torrent of raging Kusanagi flames, a violent fiery explosion that impacts Chun-Li. The legendary Ever Burning Flames of the Kusanagi do their thing, of course, and meanwhile Kyo stumbles back.

He stumbles right onto his ass, in fact, and he looks not at Chun-Li, but at Kain. And he points at the blond man again.

And then Kyo passes out.

Chun-Li, as she

is kicking Kyo in the mouth, gets popped right in the grill herself. By a fist. Swung mightily. While on fire. Chun-Li will indeed remember this moment -- it'll be when the missing three hours of her life began. The blow smashes right into her nose, breaking it (again) and sending her head snapping back like she'd just tried to headbutt an incoming punch from Mike Bison.

Her leg still extended, Chun-Li tips backward, landing in a heap. She's unconscious before she hits the ground.

Kain looks at the two fallen fighters. If they weren't on camera, and being watched by a large number of people, he'd probably do something horrible to Kyo. As it stands, though, it'd be pretty hard to explain away something like that. So instead he waits just long enough for the announcers to officially declare the fight over, then makes his way out of the arena.

COMBATSYS: Kain has ended the fight here.
