Description: In a spooky forest at night, Heidern, Cammy, and Ryu do battle! Heidern being all badass at the beginning of the fight culminates in a brutal exchange between him and the others, causing him to withdraw from the fight. Ryu and Cammy then do battle, with Ryu triumphing. (Winner: Ryu)
The night sky is dark, the stars hidden by a thick layer of cloud that sees to stretch across the sky as far as the eye can see. Even the moon is hidden, cutting off any hope of light in the dark forest below. Everything about this night seems to be straight out of a horror film - the cold breeze that chills down to the very bone, the soft, haunting rustle of leaves as the wind blows over them.
But this forest isn't the scene of an R-rated slaying - no, it's the venue for tonight's Saturday Night Fight main event.. a match that will bring an aging man back into the professional fighting circuit.. if only for one night. Indeed, it has been a long time since Heidern - supreme commander of the Ikari Warriors - has been seen -anywhere- near a sanctioned fight. For the past several years, he has hidden in the darkness - hunting his longtime rival Rugal and only appearing when the evil madman makes his presence felt.
Tonight, though, is different.. the veteran of countless conflicts stands in the middle of a small clearing, his olive green trenchcoat swaying in the cold wind as he adjusts his beret slightly. Pulling his leather gloves tight over his hands, the military man is silent as he glances around, waiting for the arrival of his two opponents.
What prompted his return to the fighting 'ring'? Perhaps preparation for another encounter with Rugal? After all, he's set to go up against one of the greatest warriors in the known world, and another fighter that is no where near a push-over.. hopefully it will be adequate training for the deadly man.
There were two factors that made Cammy more comfortable accepting a fight like this. One, it would be night. Two, well... in the presence of Ryu, and... Heidern, whoever he was, Vega surely wouldn't make a move on her, right? Right? The third would be that... Cammy had not fought for a few weeks, and she was getting antsy. For the past two weeks, the girl had been hidden in the darkness of hotel rooms and such, training... watching... waiting...
...or not. For she had no idea what she was watching and waiting for in life. Right now, however... she was watching Heidern, and awaiting for the event to start. With her brilliantly blue eyes focused on the stoic figure of the Ikari commander. Wearing a crimson jacket over the dark blue, swimsuit-like outfit she was fond of fighting in, the girl silently shuffles over to one of the edges of the fighting area, pulling a hand out of her jacket pocket, the arm of that hand covered in a ceramic, crimson gauntlet. That hand rises to adjust the beret atop her head, the girl shifting her weight from foot to foot. Only one to wait for, now...
Horror movie? Hah! It's just another clear, brisk, beautiful day in the forests of Southtown. Great for training, great for fighting! The chill wind doesn't seem to bother the warrior in the tattered gi overly much, Ryu standing steadfast on the edge of the woods, arms crossed easily over his muscular chest as his eyes scan the rustic surroundings, considering the arrival or presence of his opponents tonight... Cammy is well known to him, along with her abilities... but with her break from Shadaloo and pursuit of her own destiny, those abilities seem to have improved, if anything. It's a fight the nomad's looking forward to, and Heidern, well... Heidern is a wild card. Ryu knows of the man, even if he doesn't really know it... since Ralf and Clark only ever referred to their rather competent leader as 'The Commander' around the Ansatsuken master. But Ryu can certainly sense the strength in the mercenary commander.
Of course, in this... there's more than just the fight, given recent developments with good ol' Vega. Ryu's never sure where the Shadaloo Lord might pop up... but he's gotten fairly good at prodding the dictator into a certain pattern, so... it's something! For now, though, he simply steps out further into the slight clearing at the meeting of forest trails, nodding once to Heidern, and then to Cammy, who also receives a small smile, "Been keeping up with your training?" He asks her simply, almost eagerly, forgoing loftier topics for the simple - that may be oh so important to the outcome of the heavier ones. His fists clench and he prepares a ready stance patiently, taking a moment to stretch his neck in preparation for the night fight, energy centering through his form with steady breaths, the aura tangible to those sensitive to such things.

As his trenchcoat blows around him, Heidern's lanky frame doesn't move in the slightest - his head only craning to either side as his two opponents enter the clearing. He pays particular attention to Cammy at first.. she's instantly recognizable as the Killer Bee, one of Shadaloo's deadliest operatives. How ironic that she's standing in plain sight, not more than a dozen feet away from him. It'd be ridiculously easy to take her in for questioning at this point.. but that's not what Heidern is here for, and besides - he has more important things to worry about than one of Vega's female lapdogs.
Turning his attention to Ryu, the Ikari Commander offers a sharp nod, tipping the brim of his beret towards the wanderer. "I've heard of your skill, Ryu.." he says, before turning his gaze towards Cammy, "And of -your- master.."
A small grin covers the man's face as he takes a few steps backwards, eyes glancing between his two opponents before he finally speaks. "So, it seems sporting that I give one of you the chance to strike first.. after all, I know a fair share about the both of you.. and I doubt you know much about me. Let's just call this your chance.. to surprise me."

And... there. Twisting her head around quickly when Ryu steps out into the open, the young Miss White tenses up for a quick moment... before relaxing with a sigh. Ryu's small smile is met with a similar one turning up the corners of her lips, Cammy answering the question asked of her with a simple nod. But then the Ikari commander speaks. There is a visible twitch in the once-Doll, her gaze turning around to focus fully upon Heidern.
"Our chance to surprise you?" Cammy asks, her hand reaching up to the zipper of her little jacket, and pulling it downwards. A look of suspicion dances across her face for a few moments as the girl shrugs off her jacket to the ground below, but when Cammy brings her fists up... a slow grin spreads across her face. "I accept your challenge." she says calmly, and without any more ado, the girl begins to charge across the clearing towards Heidern.
Upon reaching a certain distance of him, Cammy would then leap up into the air, bringing her arms up to each side to be level with her shoulders... and when her leap takes her close enough to the cyclopic Commander, she kicks out both of her feet towards the man's thighs, her hands snatching out for the shoulders of the man. That's where it would get tricky. The intent was to kick the man's legs out from beneath him as she holds unto his shoulders, and then sorta... flip him head-over-heels with her still clinging to him like that. It would end after a backwards flip with the man on the ground, Cammy then kicking off the man in a backflip. That was the girl's plan, at least.

Well... informed though Heidern may be, his sources could be more up to date. But that's not exactly relevant to the here and now... and Ryu's not going to short-sell one of Cammy's shots at really surprising the mercenary. For the moment, he leaves it to the ex-Doll and observes, dark eyes considering the unknown military fighter, and carefully analyzing the exchange with Cammy.... Ryu doesn't rush right into this one, instead holding his defenses at the ready as he considers the other combatants. Not hesitant... but patient, waiting for the right moment to strike. Otherwise it wouldn't be much of a surprise, right?

His hands remaining deep in the pockets of his green trenchcoat, Heidern's remaining eye narrows as he watches Cammy rush towards him - not in the least bit visibly shocked by the girl's speed. He's well aware what Vega's dolls are capable of, even if he may not know that she is no longer under the evil man's employ. Nevertheless, her quickness is just not enough to get past the razor-sharp reaction time of the grizzled war veteran.
Lashing out with his right hand as he takes a step to the side, Heidern stops Cammy's attack dead in it's tracks by grabbing hold of her wrist. "You've -failed- my challenge.." says Heidern, as though he were correcting Cammy's last statement. That said, the lanky Ikari Commander tosses the Killer Bee high up into the air, calmly waiting until she begins her descent before he holds his hand straight up in the path of her fall.

The downward force certainly helps Heidern's goal, as Cammy falls only his waiting hand - the razor sharp tips of his fingers easily cutting through her skin and practically impaling her. Holding her aloft for a moment, the military man lets out a small snort of disgust before tossing her body to the side - slashing out with the same hand as crimson blood flies off of the surface of his leather gloves.
Turning away from Cammy, the trenchcoat-clad individual points a finger towards Ryu. "Now, you."
That grin on her lips was very short-lived. It fades away at the instant her wrist was grabbed. Flung up into the air... her 'speciality' of combat, Cammy begins to twist around so that she would land on her feet instead of... well, she didn't quite expect to be impaled upon the man's hand. "HRK!" was all Cammy had time for before she was flung away from the man, the once-Doll landing heavily upon her side.
Still, she was not out of the fight, not by a long shot. Slapping a foot against the ground, she tucks herself up into a ball during the same motion, propelling herself away from Heidern in a roll. Two, three seconds of that, and Cammy puts her feet upon the ground, the girl rising to her feet with narrowing eyes upon Heidern. And as she rises, her right hand rises up to her gut to clench it, hoping to staunch the flow of blood from where she had been impaled. The swimsuit like garment she was wearing was poor armour against stuff like that.
Daring to take her eyes from the man to glance towards, the girl begins to tense once more as her gaze drifts back towards Heidern, then back to Ryu. Seems she was preparing for something.

Okay... scientific conclusion... that looked painful. Heidern definitely has some brutal techniques at his disposal, and grim efficiency to boot... the nomad's certain of that after just that quick exchange. Not that he's on the mercenary leader's payroll, but the invitation to strike is too good to pass up, this time... and as Cammy rights herself, the World Warrior launches himself up and in, a blurring upwards streak of white into the night-shrouded forest canopy, where the nomad lands momentarily in the shadowed boughs of a bordering, aged tree... and from that shadowed perch, a brilliant, fiery luminescence burns, swirling flames bursting forth in a spherical mass of flame-orbitted chi, the napalmy blast threatening to airstrike Heidern into oblivion, as Ryu simply kneels above, palms focusing his energy down, "Hadoooouken!!!!"

Heidern is more than prepared to counter-act Ryu's attack - he's well aware of the man's fighting proficiency, and he's not about to lower his guard or make any snarky comments to -him-. As far as the Ikari Commander is concerned, the strange wanderer is his -real- opponent in this match. When the firey ball of chi comes barreling towards him, the lanky veteran reacts quickly, slashing upwards with both of his arms - unleashing an x-shaped chi projectile as he does so.
When the two chi blasts meet in mid-air, there is a sudden shockwave of energy - for a moment, it is difficult to tell if they cancelled eachother out or not.. and then that question is answered, when the firey red hadouken tears through Heidern's attempt at a counter-attack, flying towards the military man and striking him dead in the chest.
But if Ryu hoped to inflict any serious damage on the man, he may be disappointed, because the Ikari Commander is still on his feet and seemingly none the worse for wear, simply being pushed back a few steps by the impact. Dusting off the front of his fatigues, Heidern lets out a small chuckle. "Well, it's nice to see that one of you can compete with me. But, can your hand-to-hand skills stand up to mine?!"
Now, normally... Cammy would have qualms about attacking someone twice in a row during a event like this. But ooooo... Heidern was -trying- his very hardest to irritate her, wasn't he?! Bringing her bloodstained hand up from her punctured belly, Cammy lifts and clenches her fists tightly in front of herself, her teeth gritting together as she furrows her brow in concentration.
"HEY!", the girl shouts, before springing herself into a forward dash. "-I- can compete with you! Want to see..." Cammy says, before kicking off of the ground, throwing herself into a rapid sideways sort of spin that causes her ponytails to lift, the soles of her combat boots perpetually pointed towards the ground. Slapping her arms over her chest in the air, her right arm begins to blaze with the sparking sort of flamish blue energy that Cammy wielded. "MY HAND-TO-HAND SKILLS?! YA!" she shouts, and upon arrival on earth again... Cammy would twist her torso, swinging that flaming forearm to try to impact Heidern's ribs. The physical impact wouldn't be the main part of the attack, no... it would be the energy slamming into Heidern at the point of impact.
The cutting burst of energy that met his Hadouken had quite a bit of punch to it, as far as Ryu can tell... interesting. Still, he has to agree with Cammy's assessment as the energy dissipates and the ex-Doll rushes forward with that brutal psi-sheathed fist Ryu's far too familiar with... and so his initial entry into the fray is the straightest course, dropping to the ground, his right leg absorbing most of the impact as he drops to a half-crouch before all but shooting up into a sharp pivot that launches his left heel around and in for Cammy's rib's, timed for the instant after her meeting with Heidern passes one way or the other.... and showing Ryu's not tentative about mixing it up, either, "Kyaaaaaah!!!" Hand to hand skills? This fight's a showcase!

Perhaps focusing on Ryu was something of a mistake for the military man, as Cammy's powerful blow strikes dead-on - enough to send Heidern reeling from the strike. It's not so much the physical blow that causes the most damage, although Cammy is hella tough for 17-year old, it's the strange energy that accompanies it.. something that the Ikari Commander has never encountered in all his years of conflict. This must be the 'psycho power' that his intelligence division spoke to him about.. well, whatever it is, it's definitely painful.. and enough to make Heidern realize that the Killer Bee is 'killer' for a -reason-.
"Well.. it seems I made the mistake of underestimating you.." he says, as he straightens his posture, regaining his tall, lanky stance. "You should know, that I never make the same mistake twice.."
What does that mean? Well, he won't be holding back on taking Cammy out of the fight, post-haste. With that goal in mind, the Ikari Commander leaps up into the air - spinning in mid-jump so that his feet are skyward.. enabling him to make a passing grab, attempting to grab tightly onto one of Cammy's long pig-tails..

Grabbing tightly onto her blond locks, Heidern uses Cammy's hair as an anchor, landing barely a foot away from the Killer Bee. Not even pausing a second, the Ikari Commander strikes with deadly efficiency, rearing back with his right hand and pulling Cammy in close with his left. Moments before he brings his right arm forward, the entire appendage bursts into flames - red chi travelling up and down the entire length of his arm. And then, he drives it forward, knive-like hand easily piercing the girl's tough midsection.. and once it's in there, Heidern doesn't hesitate to do some experimental re-arranging with her inner organs, grabbing, squeezing and thrusting his hand in and around her stomach as the flaming chi no doubt sets her nerve endings alight with pain.
And then, he simply removes his hand, kicking Cammy's injured body backwards with disdain. "You're strong, Killer Bee.." he says, swiping his arm through the air as the crimson blood splatters on the soft, leafy ground of the forest. "But if this is the best you have to offer, you need to find yourself a new career. May I suggest housemaid?"

The pigtails are OFF LIMITS. OW. She had just brought her crossed forearms up to intercept Ryu's kick, when... Releasing a yelp of pain as her beautiful locks were grabbed, the girl's head twisting towards Heidern...
Well, if her locks were off-limits, screwing around with internal organs is -way- off limits. She doesn't quite shout, no. Her eyes fly wide open, and her breath catches in her throat, the Pacific High student just doing nothing more than staggering away when the attack finishes, the girl slapping her arms over her belly protectively. Just in time to get a kick to the face that barrels her backwards, the girl flipping through the air to land painfully on her front, groaning.
In the midst of that unintentional backflip, Cammy's beret frees itself from her head, and drops down to the ground, the Delta Red symbol gleaming in the light. Well, dayum. That wasn't... cool. Rising shakily to her feet, Cammy ignores the jibe for now, her face becoming deadly serious as she frowns at Heidern. The man -had- to be related to Vega... somehow. And all this... it was really beginning to frost her cookies! But she had to calm down... calm down and get a hold of her...
"YAAAGH!" Cammy shouts, taking a quick dash forward towards Heidern, before leaping at the man in a spinning feet-first jump. The energy, you know, the stuff that once surrounded her arm? It was now blazing around her legs, perhaps fueled by the power of her anger. Hopefully, she would sink her feet into his gut in a double jumpkick, spin around three times -just- to make sure his belly hurt, before throwing herself off of him, hitting the ground with her shoulders, and then propelling herself skyward, hoping to catch the man beneath that chin of his with a ascending kick. Housemaid -that-. Assuming it works out.
Wow... these two aren't wasting any time, at all. Ryu is sort of just watching the trainwreck, at this point, though he has a real good vantage point right there in close proximity with the brutal exchange. Plow for plow, it seems like so far between these two, and he's just kind of... here to watch it happen. Not that the Ansatsuken master intends to just sit it out that easily... Heidern can certainly dish out a lot of punishment, but the World Warrior is interested in seeing just how well the mercenary holds up, up close and personal.
As Cammy goes hurtling away, Ryu's path to Heidern is wide open, and the nomad snaps a quick jab for the side of the Mercenary leader's skull... a jab that's more to buy the half-second it takes Ryu to step onto Heidern's flank, and ideally, slam his elbow in the back of the commander's skull, "Haaaaaah!!!" It's time someone started paying attention to this spectator, right?

Catching the attention of both his opponents.. certainly wasn't a good idea. Well, it looks like the two of them certainly are a challenge, even if only when they work together against the man. Ryu's jab is enough to knock him off his balance, leaving him wide open for an elbow to the back of the skull.. of course, that only sends him stumbling a step forward - right into Cammy's waiting feet, which drive into his midsection backed up by a significant amount of psycho power. Propelled upwards, the lanky Ikari Commander is caught by a painful kick to the underside of his chin, sending him up higher into the air before he slams back down to the ground several feet away.
"Ugh.." grumbles the injured man, shaking his head and spitting out a large glob of blood as he slowly pulls himself back to his feet.. but even when he does, his stance is shaky at first - clearly still recovering from the brutal pairing of strikes he just received. "Well, well.. it's been a while since I've been smacked around like that, kids.." says Heidern with a small grin.. "But don't think that I haven't faced worse. I've seen -true- power. Hellish. Unyielding. Merciless and terrifying.." As he speaks, one hand points to the eyepatch that covers his left eye, as though he were referring to some specific instance in his past that brought about his disability. "You see.." Suddenly, Heidern's remaining eye widens, the veteran backflipping a few feet away from his two opponents. One hand raises itself up to his left ear - the truly observant would notice a small earbud in there, with a cord wrapped around and leading down into his fatigues. Obviously a radio of sorts.. but who could be on the other end? Whoever it is, the news seems important enough for the veteran to completely take his attention off of the fight, and his lengthy speech.
"..No.."
It seems like he's not even paying -attention- to the pair of fighters at this time, listening intently to the words in his ear. Finally, it appears to stop, as the man turns his eyes back to Cammy and Ryu, straightening his posture and dusting his fatigues off, using the back of his hand to wipe a trickle of blood from the corner of his mouth.
"As enlightening as this has been, I'm afraid sanctioned fights are on the bottom of my list of priorities. Something important has come up." Turning his attention to one of the nearby videocameras taping this fight for tonight's broadcast, Heidern looks directly into it, "I forfeit.. -Mister- Howard.."
The last two words are spoken with a venom that practically drips out of Heidern's mouth.. and then, he ducks low for a moment, before leaping up high into the canopy of trees above.. where he disappears.

And that... as they say, is that. Backflipping off of Heidern after her ascending kick... Cammy lands in a deep crouch with a wince, a hand going up to her belly as she spares a few moments to stare off into the darkness after the retreating Commander, her expression hard. She didn't miss the 'exchange' of sorts between Heidern and the camera, and that only served to... confuse her. She was glad that this... bout of sorts ended this way. She had a feeling Heidern would've bested her in a straight one on one fight. And dayum if the man wasn't infuriating.
Slowly rising to her feet, Cammy ignores the protesting pain erupting from her wounded belly, the girl twisting around to face Ryu, jaw set, and eyes narrowed. "The fight isn't over just yet..." she says, her voice tight. And with that, she snaps up her hands, the leather creaking as she curls her hands into a fist.

As Heidern elects to move on to the next battle, Ryu merely watches the rather... frustrating, if capable officer take off into the night, before looking back towards Cammy. He would have liked to see more of the mercenary's abilities first-hand, but... in this case, dueling pride just got in the way of that. Not that the exchange wasn't impressive in its extreme nastyness.
Holding a defensive stance, Ryu eyes the rather battered Cammy, "We can take a moment before we finish, if you like." The nomad offers... the condition the ex-Doll is in after hammering Heidern all-out (and vice-versa) doesn't exactly seem to make for sporting competition, to the World Warrior. Still, he maintains his own guard, well aware that Cammy is far from down or docile yet...

"Now where's the fun in that?" Cammy quips, one corner of her lips twitching subtlely upwards into a lopsided grin. In spite of that, Cammy does take a longer moment then likely was necessary to orient herself, her eyes remaining locked upon the World Warrior. Without a word of warning, (which was likely unneccesary to begin with,) Cammy begins to dash forwards towards Ryu, the girl then leaping up into the air, extending one foot as she twists around... and then with a strike that she twists into, seeks to strike the side of Ryu's head with her foot in a flying roundhouse kick. "YA!"

Well, maybe Cammy has different ideas about fun than Ryu... or maybe not. After all, pushing himself against insurmountable odds is typically the choice the World Warrior would make. Still, he's not going to go easy on her just because of the admirable gesture.... the nomad weaves under the flying kick with a quick motion, twisting on one anchoring foot to face the ex-Doll's landing position. A single nod follows, and then he launches in, snapping a sharp right out for the side of the young warrior's skull, the efficient straight audibly cleaving the air between them.

The expression on Cammy's face grows more serious as she descends from her failed kick... although that expression gets punched right out of her. Her head snaps to the side, and she grunts as she staggers to one side, falling down upon one knee. Well, from down there, she had a lot of options. The one that came to Cammy's mind the most was lifting up her foot, and hammering it into the side of Ryu's knee, which she tries.

The defense the World Warrior prepares isn't exactly ready for the sharp strike to the side of his leg, the rather sudden spark of pain enough to stagger him to the side for a moment, bare feet digging a short trench in the grass beneath them as he forces his momentum to stop, and snaps both hands out for the front of Cammy's swimsuit, seeking to hoist her up and over his shoulder, and send her sailing back-first into the closest tree, "Haaaah!"

And that, as they say... is that. Grabbed, and hoisted up from the ground, Cammy is flung over the man's shoulder into the nearest tree, that particular oak shuddering with the impact of girl on trunk. Evidently, that was too much for the student, as when she begins to slide down the trunk, her eyes begin to flutter closed, so that when she finally 'lands' upon the ground once again... she is unconcious. Luckily, the medical staff is around and ready to go!
