SNF Matches: 9-03-2005 -- Sat Sep 3 2005 -- Geese
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Match 1: Vanessa vs. Akira with Deejay as Agent -- 1v1 Chaos Agent -- 10:30 AM -- Pao Pao Cafe
Match 2: Tran, Shinobu, Tony, Ibuki -- 4-Way FFA -- 1:30 PM -- Deck of a Cargo Ship (Harbor)
Match 3: Dong Hwan vs. Geese -- 1v1 Slaughter -- Southtown Airport -- 4 PM -- See Notes
Match 4: Foxy vs. Ralf -- 1v1 Standard -- 5 PM -- Forest
Main Event: Cammy vs. Benimaru -- 1v1 Standard -- Howard Arena -- 7 PM
Notes: Match 2, Tran take note. I'm going to give you a little advantage here, you can pick your spot in the turn order. You can go first, second, third, or last at your discretion. Everyone else may then work out their turn order from there.
Dong Hwan, you don't have to actually play this one out. This is just IC retribution for a history of negotiating draws, showing up very late, etc. Truth be told, I couldn't find many fair matches to fit you into as is, so figured that a 'presumed beating' would work out. My apologies that the signups aren't conductive to giving you a real match, but I ran out of people in your same power level so you would've had to sit out anyway. I figured this would be as good a time as any to do the 'consequences' for that history.
Be glad, though. I was originally going to ask staff to let me temp Raiden, Daimon, Zangief, and Gan and have you do a 4v1 in an 'anti-babes' match.

SNF Results: 9-03-2005 -- Sat Sep 3 2005 -- Geese
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Match 1: Vanessa vs. Akira with Deejay as Agent -- Winner: Forfeit (See Notes)
Match 2: Tran, Shinobu, Tony, Ibuki -- 4-Way FFA -- 1st: Tony ($4,000) -- 2nd: Ibuki ($2,000) -- 3rd: Shinobu ($1,000) -- Loser: Tran ($400)
Match 3: Dong Hwan vs. Geese -- 1v1 Slaughter -- Winner: Geese. (See Notes)
Match 4: Foxy vs. Ralf -- 1v1 Standard -- Winner: Forfeit (See Notes)
Main Event: Cammy vs. Benimaru -- 1v1 Standard -- Winner: Benimaru ($7,500)
Notes: Obviously, Dong Hwan wasn't expected to play his match out. But he actually went for it and gave a decent account of himself. While he only receives a trifling amount of money for being in the match, he is getting a reward in that he gets to book his own match the next time he signs up for SNF. Said match will be subject to my approval (no blatant mismatches in his favor, for example) however.
Tony is, officially, penalized all of his winnings for needless post-match brutality. In reality, Southsynd looks after its own; Tony gets his pay and I give lip service to caring about 'good sportsmanship' on camera.
Match 1...Vanessa did not log in for much of the normal day if my information is accurate. Deejay and Akira were both present, and with Vanessa no-showing, they decided on a no-match result. Vanessa is awarded a Forfeit Loss.
Match 4...it seems Ralf was on at reasonable hours to do the match but Foxy hasn't been on in a few days. Foxy is awarded a Forfeit Loss.
Signups are cleared. Feel free to enlist for the next SNF.

SNF Matches: 9-10-2005 -- Fri Sep 9 2005 -- Geese
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Custom Match: Dong Hwan & Megumi vs. Natsu, Maylee, & Gabriel -- 2v3 Simultaneous -- 1:30 PM -- Sound Beach (Special Rule, See Notes)
Match 1: Eagle vs. Duck with Bao as Chaos Agent -- 1v1 Chaos Agent -- 3 PM -- Duck Pond
Match 2: Heavy D! vs. Leona -- 1v1 Standard -- 4 PM -- Taiyo Dome Arena (See Notes)
Match 3: Kain vs. Cammy & Mimiru -- 2v1 Simultaneous -- 5 PM -- Kain's Choice of Location
Main Event: Benimaru, Iori, Kula -- 3-Way FFA - 7 PM - Howard Arena (Special Rule, See Notes)
Notes: The Custom Match is what Dong Hwan booked, subject to my approval. I think it's slightly mismatched, but here's the funny thing...I don't know in which direction it's a mismatch. Since I can make cases for it being a mismatch against either side, I'm going to presume it's actually balanced and run it. Dong Hwan implemented a Special Rule that everyone involved wear a swimsuit. However, due to the whimsical nature of the Rule, I'm going to note that nobody is required to follow it, just strongly encouraged to. Penalties for non-compliance will range from trivial/meaningless to minor punishments; if you show up in a t-shirt and jeans, I'm not going to make your next match involve you facing Kain, Grant, Geese, Vega, Kyo, Ryu, Terry, and Dan. This is just a "for fun" Special Rule.
You may notice a theme in the locations. Namely, I've tried to give someone Home Field Advantage. This is OOCly perfectly fair, ICly some might see it as an advantage that they get to fight on "their turf." Duck gets his match in the Duck Pond for this reason. Heavy D, your "home field advantage" is that Taiyo Dome Arena will load up a Boxing Ring for you. Kain, since you don't have any real 'home field' in Southtown that I'm aware of, you get to pick where you fight.
The main event of course has no such home field, everyone fights at Howard Arena for it. Benimaru, you're the beneficiary of the special rule. You get to pick your spot in the turn order.

SNF Results: 9-10-2005 -- Sun Sep 11 2005 -- Geese
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Custom Match: Dong Hwan & Megumi vs. Natsu, Maylee, & Gabriel -- 2v3 Simultaneous -- Winner: May, Gabriel, Natsu ($4,000 each)
Match 1a: Eagle vs. Bao -- 1v1 Standard -- Winner: Eagle ($3,550)
Match 2: Heavy D! vs. Leona -- 1v1 Standard -- Winner: 'In Flux' (See Notes)
EDIT -- Match 7: Kain vs. Cammy & Mimiru -- 2v1 Simultaneous -- Winner: Cammy & Mimiru ($7,000 each)
Main Event: Benimaru, Iori, Kula -- 3-Way FFA - Winner: Kula ($7,500)
Notes: Anyone who followed the Custom Match's special rule receives an additional $500, as this stipulation likely increased viewership of the match by a moderate amount. Anyone who did not should let me know, as I may try to come up with a mildly entertaining 'punishment' (nothing severe/unfair) for such 'disobedience.'
Match 1a is what happened when Duck had to abandon the match with some small advance notice. Eagle took on Bao in a standard 1v1 and won.
Match 2 is, according to my latest @mail, 'still in progress.' I'll post an update later on this one, most likely. Rather, I'll edit this post.
Match 3...Kain, I'm going to try and quit booking you in "vs. mulitple foes" matches for a while, since you've done so many. I apologize for doing it AGAIN, but I worked with what I had on booking in this case. Still, don't worry; I am paying attention.
My Main Event @mail tells me I "shouldn't ask for details." Well, tempting me with such cover-ups always has the opposite effect; I'm asking for details. If something notable or interesting happened, it'd be nice if someone told me. If something suitably unusual happens, sometimes I try to work it for future bookings.
Signups cleared. Feel free to enlist for the next SNF.

SNF Matches: 9-17-2005 -- Fri Sep 16 2005 -- Geese
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Match 1: Rock vs. Geese -- 1v1 Standard -- 10 AM -- Southtown Village (streets)
Match 2: MayLee vs. Jae Hoon vs. Dong Hwan -- 3-Way FFA -- 11 AM -- Shrine
Match 3: Benimaru vs. Mr. Big -- 1v1 Standard -- 1:30 PM -- Duck Pond
Match 4: Megumi & Mai vs. K9999 & Eagle -- 2v2 Simultaneous -- 2 PM -- Mall
Match 5: Vice, Rolento, Vanessa, & Shingo -- 4-Way FFA -- 2:30 PM -- River Bed
Match 6: Karin vs. Natsu -- 1v1 Standard -- 3 PM -- Park
Match 7: Mimiru, Johnny, & Gabriel vs. Kula with Akira as agent -- 3v1 Chaos -- 4 PM -- Pao Pao
Match 8: Cammy vs. Ralf -- 1v1 Standard -- 5 PM -- Lobby of Gorin Heights
Main Event: Kain vs. Ryu -- 7 PM -- Howard Arena
Notes and Special Rules: No special rules, but Rock vs. Geese was an OOC request and I'm not trying to cheat Rock out of a normal match.
I redistributed Match 9's members to Match 7 and Match 5 due to complaints. I'm going to take a moment to be specific about why I did that match: I booked Match 9 because Vanessa and Akira account for most of my Did Not Happen (due to non-attendance) match results. I KNOW it is due to you two having hectic RL schedules. I am not mad at you, but I can spot a tendency when it's present. But I got complaints about "fighting her again?", so now you're redistributed. If anyone no-shows from Match 5, remove them and make it an X-Way FFA, where X is the number of remaining fighters. If Akira does not show for Match 7, remove her and revert to 3v1 Simultaneous rules.

SNF Results: 9-17-2005 -- Sun Sep 18 2005 -- Geese
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Match 1: Rock vs. Geese -- 1v1 Standard -- Winner: Geese (See Notes)
Match 2: MayLee vs. Jae Hoon vs. Dong Hwan -- Loser: Dong Hwan -- 1st: Jae Hoon & Maylee (Double KO, $14,000 apiece, see notes.)
Match 3: Benimaru vs. Mr. Big -- 1v1 Standard -- Winner: Did Not Happen (See Notes)
Match 4: Megumi & Mai vs. K9999 & Eagle -- 2v2 Simultaneous -- Winner: Mai & Megumi ($55,500 each)
Match 5: Vice, Rolento, Shingo, Vanessa -- 4-Way FFA -- Loser: Rolento ($2,000) -- 3rd: Vanessa ($10,000) -- 1st Shingo & Vice (Double KO, $20,000 apiece)
Match 6: Karin vs. Natsu -- 1v1 Standard -- Winner: Double KO ($12,500 apiece, but See Notes)
Match 7: Mimiru, Johnny, & Gabriel vs. Kula with Akira as agent -- 3v1 Chaos -- Winner: Rebooked, See Notes.
Match 7a: Mimiru & Benimaru vs. Kula & Gabriel, with Akira as agent -- 2v2 Simultaneous Chaos -- Winner: Kula & Gabriel ($62,500 apiece)
Match 8: Cammy vs. Ralf -- 1v1 Standard -- Winner: Did Not Happen (RL Circumstances, Notice Given)
Match 8a: Cammy vs. Kyo -- 1v1 Standard -- Winner: Kyo ($80,000)
Main Event: Kain vs. Ryu -- 1v1 Standard -- Winner: Double KO ($40,000 apiece)
Notes: In an effort to properly portray the "You are the top sports celebrities in the whole world" aspect of theme, I have significantly increased the winnings. This is not a Retroactive Change. ICly, you would be informed SNF, as it's only been a few years old, has had little logistical/advertising issues that got solved, and along with increasing ratings over time, have resulted in a massive pay boost. Yep. I will be doing another post to explain how I calculate pay.
Match 1 vs. Rock, I keep my money. Rock gets $12,000 for putting up a decent fight despite the constant Power/Crit Hit parade on both sides.
Match 3 did not happen because Mr. Big's RL schedule did not seem to coincide with Benimaru's. Normally I'd call this a Forfeit Loss, but I CAN account for him being on at reasonable hours for his match, so this is instead a Did Not Happen. Normally I'd advise scheduling things, but often by the time I post, you really can't; I will be considering solutions to this.
Match 6, Karin donates her winnings to Taiyo's volleyball club.
Match 7, Johnny was not available due to RL schedule conflicts. Benimaru was shifted to this match and it became Match 7a.
Match 8 didn't happen, but there was a decent RL reason for it so that match is Cancelled (no forfeit happened to either party). Match 8a replaced it.
Signups cleared, you can enlist for the next SNF immediately if you wish, depending on if staff hijack the machine for their peewwwneeey "OOC tournament" or not.

Pay Explained -- Sun Sep 18 2005 -- Geese
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As promised, here's a post that clarifies how the general pay scale of SNF works.
First off, the loser of a match generally gets 10% of what the highest amount paid out in the match was. If someone wins $50,000 and that's the highest total, the loser gets 10% of that. Next, 1v1s tend to pay the least out of all match types. FFAs and Team Battles give more money in general to all sides involved. Ratio is another big factor; the better the fighter, the higher their pay is. In fact, Ratio is the major defining factor, and match type is secondary. The increase in a non-1v1 fight is about in the neighborhood of 10-25 percent of what a 1v1 would get.
Chaos Agents are paid based on fairness. For this reason, if anyone thinks the Agent acted unfair (which also influences what sort of matches they're booked in...and I should note unfair agents may get interesting special treatment; I'm a jerk who sometimes enjoys embracing the 'villain'), you should report that in your match result @mail.
In FFAs, the winner gets the full prize, and everyone else gets fractions thereof. Double KOs in ANY match cause the fighters who had a Draw to split roughly 80 percent of the prize money for their finishing position between them. For example, if Kyo would normally win $80,000 for a match and instead Double KOs with his foe, he and his foe receive about $32,000 apiece. Rather than giving them a 50-50 split of 80K, the 80 percent, divided between them thing is to discourage Draws and Money Cooperation schemes.
Forfeits tend to net you a little less money than usual. That is, forfeits in-match. If you walk off from a fight without a good reason (imminent threat to safety, life, etc.), generally you get penalized. 'Good reason' would include things like being the last one standing on your side, when an entire gang of enemies is ready to focus on specifically you, and may have particularly nasty intent. This is a case-by-case thing. Forfeits for non-attendance net $0. Generally though, the idea is to encourage you to fight to the finish unless it'd be seriously, genuinely detrimental for you to do so.
Popular fighters tend to get an automatic, modest bonus to their pay regardless of talent. A good example of a fighter who would get a bonus is Mai; it doesn't matter that she's at the lower end of the talent pool amongst SNF competitors. Most of the audience loves seeing her, and I give out bonus pay to people like that in order to encourage them to compete again soon. Popular fighters in the card means more people watching, meaning TV advertising during SNF is worth more, meaning more money to Howard Industries. It's an 'investment', in other words.
Main Events tend to get a pay bonus as well, even if they're 1v1. ...Especially if they're 1v1. Also, winning when you're the underdog tends to be worth a little extra, so spectacular finishes may want to be pointed out; if I agree, there's a bonus and I may book you for a cool match or two later on.
R2s can expect to get around 30,000 dollars, modified by a lot of factors. R1s get about $10,000 or so. R3s hit the 40-50K range. R4s hit about 50-60K, and R5 to R6 tend to get around 70-90K depending on various factors. Again, match-type, circumstances, and fighter popularity can influence this pay.

SNF Matches: 9-23-2005 -- Fri Sep 23 2005 -- Geese
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Match 1: Damian & Gabriel vs. Jiro & Mimiru -- 2v2 Sequential -- 11 AM -- River Bed
Match 2: Hokutomaru vs. MayLee -- 1v1 Standard -- 2 PM -- Pao Pao Cafe
Match 3: Dong Hwan vs. Natsu -- 1v1 Standard -- 3 PM -- Dream Amusement Park
Match 4: Chin & Kensou vs. Cammy -- 2v1 Simultaneous -- 4 PM -- Forest
Match 5: Shingo vs. Megumi -- 1v1 Standard -- 5 PM -- Shingo's Choice of Location
Main Event: Ryu vs. Athena -- 1v1 Standard -- 7 PM -- Howard Arena
Notes and Special Rules: Match 1 adheres to Sequential rules, similar to how KoF was run. UNLIKE KoF, you do not get an uncontested Rest action after taking someone down. It is presumed your next opponent 'enters as a free action' (to use odd RPG terms) on your turn, and is a valid target to attack. So if your foe goes down and you're still up after their Final Action, you can immediately target the next opponent. If you wish to do "Double Blind" selection of who starts combat for each team, I am willing to act as an impartial recorder of selections; page me or @mail me the choice and I'll enforce it if I'm around. Jiro & Mimiru, your team gets to pick if you go first or second in the action order.
Match 2, Hokutomaru, I'm not sure if you're a totally new player to MotM or not, so I'm going to presume you are, and that this is your first SNF, and point out something: The times I list for matches are IC times. OOCly, you may do them at ANY TIME up until the deadline posted on the Signup machine. After that, I expect an @mail from MayLee or you explaining the delay so I know how to compile the results-post. Also, one of you will need to @mail me as to who won the match; I'm available for any questions you may have about this.
Match 4, Cammy is allowed to take First Action unless she declines it, in order to balance out this match some. Sure, I'll give people matches where they're at a disadvantage if they request it, such as was the case here. I'll gladly do so; it makes booking so much easier. But I'll at least offer some sort of balancer to help a little.
Match 5 and Main Event are rebookings of matches that've already happened fairly recently, but I was low on options. Sorry. I'll get something more creative for you four next time, promise. Shingo, you get to pick your choice of location, as a nod to your OOC promptness on getting matches done and reported.

SNF Results: 9-23-2005 -- Sat Sep 24 2005 -- Geese
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Match 1: Damian & Gabriel vs. Jiro & Mimiru -- 2v2 Sequential -- Winners: Damien & Gabriel ($14,500)
Match 2: Hokutomaru vs. MayLee -- 1v1 Standard -- Winner: Hokutomaru ($32,500)
Match 3: Dong Hwan vs. Natsu -- 1v1 Standard -- Winner: (Dong Hwan, $30,000, but See Notes)
Match 4: Chin & Kensou vs. Cammy -- 2v1 Simultaneous -- Winner: Chin & Kensou ($35,500 apiece)
Match 5: Shingo vs. Megumi -- 1v1 Standard -- Winner: Megumi ($45,000)
Main Event: Ryu vs. Athena -- Match Declined, See Notes
Notes: Part of the problem with only having one or two high-ratio people sign up in a given week is that sometimes I run out of match variants for them. That happened with this week's main event, which was mutually declined. I'll try something else for Ryu and Athena next time, but I'd been busy RL and wanted to get this week's bookings posted relatively on time for a change. My apologies for this result; I'll book something else for you two in the future.
Match 3 had some interference at the end, as Tony attacked Dong Hwan after Dong won. Tony used an SNF camera to nail him and knock him out. Officially, Tony is fined $10,000 for this, and I make various statements on TV about 'getting tough' on this sort of behavior.
Match 4 would normally pay out a little higher, but this was a handicap match in favor of Chin & Kensou.
Signups are cleared, feel free to enlist for the next SNF.
