Description: Shingo and D! throw down in the Shanghai Sports Bar basement. Who gets punch drunk, and who just gets punched? (Draw Match)
The basement area of the Shanghai Sports Bar is no stranger to the sight of combat. Then again, neither is the main dining area. Sure the staff do their best to quell bar fights before they even get a chance to begin. But there are just some fights that they can't do anything about except duck, cover, and hope that it ends quickly. Unlike those types of fights, the melee that's about to get started in the wine cellar is as far from disorganized and spontaneous as one can get. Namely because it's time for another one of those Saturday Night Fight match-ups. The room has been effectively taken over by the event staff for filming purposes. Other than that, there's the crowd of other fighters who actually know of this location. After all, this back room is supposed to be a sort of secret. As such, if anyone asks, they're broadcasting from an undisclosed location. Not even the two fighters know where they are; having been blindfolded when they were picked up at the Arena. And when it's all over? They'll leave the same way. Geese has got to look out for his lackeys after all.
With his blindfold removed and taking a good look around him, Shingo quickly shrugs it off and gets through his warm-up routines fairly quickly enough. Where they are doesn't bother him much as he knows that he's not in any real danger from lack of knowledge. All he knows is that he came here for a SNF match and a SNF match is what he's going to get. The boy waves, grins, and nods over to HeavyD and flashes a thumbs-up, "Hey, Mister D! You ready? I've gotten a bit better since our last match, just so you know."
COMBATSYS: Shingo has started a fight here.

As soon as his own blindfold is removed, D! looks around...and frowns. He remembers this place. He had to do that motion capture work for the SNF game here. Ended up in a straight up brawl with Tony. Looks like they decided to take this place for his fight.
Looking back, he notes just who his opponent is. He gives the stretching Shingo a quick nod and wave. "Just about," he says, somewhat distracted as he looks around the place again. Finally, he starts into his own warm ups, punching in the air and warming up his muscles. Finally, he settles into a fighting stance, hands held up in his guard. "NOw, I'm ready."
COMBATSYS: HeavyD has joined the fight here.

Shingo gives the boxer another nod and gives one last tug on his blue gloves. He clenches his hands into fists and widens his feet into a fighting stance. "All right! Good luck to you, Mister D! and let's have some fun!" Cheerful as always, isn't he? The cameras have started rolling and the signal is given by the sound system via microphone on the announcer's desk: Ready?! Fight!
He jumps at HeavyD and twists his body in the air to somehow kick the other fighter right in the side of the head with a leg arcking down on him. "SHINGO KIIIIIIICKU!" The trust Shingo Kick. Don't leave home without it. It's everywhere your opponent doesn't want to be.

HeavyD nods at Shingo as he gets himself fet as well. Finally, the signal's given, the camera's rolled, and the bell is rung! Unfortunately, it seems like D!'s not quick enough to get first shot, Shingo quickly snapping into the air to drive down on him. Tightening his teeth behind his fists, D! keeps his arms in close, waiting for the kick. As soon as the foot snaps down, his forearms raise, taking the blow and pushing it aside to avoid any head damage. With that attack knocked away, it's D!'s turn at the helm. PUlling his left hand out of his guard, he starts snapping out several jabs toward Shingo, trying to find that opening or two in the boy's guard, the openings he can exploit later with harder hits.

Maybe he's getting a little too predictable with the Shingo Kick. Or maybe Heavy D! is just that good. Whichever it is the kick is blocked rather easily by the bouncer. Which apparently pleases Shingo despite not getting in a solid hit. This could be the start of a most excellent fight. Only one way to find out though. Right after he recovers from getting punched repeatedly by the multitude of light hits right through his guard. And by guard, he of course means his infamous Moon Elbow counter technique. "GECCH-UMPH!" The boxer's punches moving faster than they looked and just bypasses the elbow block. "Heheh. Almost had you that time," Shingo grins.
HeavyD smirks at Shingo's still-upbeat nature, even despite the failed counter attempt. "You know what they say about 'almost'." D! doesn't finish it though, assuming SHingo already knows of the phrase...despite it being an American cliche more than anything. Still, even with that small hesitation, D!'s not about to let SHingo simply have another free shot. Grabbing for the Kyo fanboy, he tries to lift him up by his collar and bust out with some serious body blows. SHingo probably already knows the move well enough...but will that keep him from a fierce stomach pumping from the outside?

Oh, Shingo does know how the rest of the phrase goes. "GECCHU!" That, by the way, is not how the saying goes. That's just him alerting HeavyD that, sorry, no reverse stomach busters at this time. Please hang up and try again later. Why? Because just as D! reaches out and grabs his collar, Shingo gives him a grin and brings the elbow on the side that the boxer is holding onto right down on D!'s arm. It's not enough force to break bone or anything but it's enough to let Shingo get away. A kick right to the gut is executed as he falls out of the African-American's grip. Next he performs a backward recovery roll and pops to his feet. "Sure I know what they say about 'almost'. Be very sure the next time?" Shingo grins at his own joke. Which is probably only funny to him.
...not quite. But then again, who's D! to argue, when he got flattened by the schoolboy fighter's proper counter? He doesn't get driven to the ground, no, but the elbow and kick combo does force the boxer to stumble back away from Shingo with a grunt. "Ngh....damn...." Not too inclined to follow up on the proper cliche, D! simply holds back, keeping his distance from Shingo. He's going to have to be careful with him...and that means taking a good while to replan his approach to fighting him.
COMBATSYS: HeavyD focuses on his next action.

Now it's Shingo's turn to keep up with the offensive, is it? Alright. Then so be it. He watches Heavy D back up to put some space between the two of them in order to organize his thoughts on the best way to deal with Shingo and the boy grins as though the man had fallen into some sort of trap. Which may or may not be true. All Heavy will know for sure is that Shingo is already moving at him by leaping high into the air with a simple and light kick to the man's head. Only, not. If it hits, awesome. But it's just there to throw D! off long enough for Shingo to land beside. Once there the Kusanagi-ryuu fighter grabs hold of the black man's collar with one hand and the opposite arm with the other. His goal is to execute a judo technique that requires throwing his opponent over his shoulder. Foot placement, balance, and dropping his hips low enough to flip Heavy D over all coming into play. "Teya!"

The feinting kick causes D! to back up instinctually, trying to avoid the clip at his head. However, even if he's caught up in the tricky kick, he's not totally driven down by the followed throw. The wrench of his arm and shoulder hurt, yes, but he manages to land on his feet rather than his back. "NGhh..." With his arm still trapped, however, he's forced to use his other hand to attack, the fist drawn back before he snaps out a hard, harsh hook right toward the boy's ribs.

Having a grip still on HeavyD means that he is not only able to see the hook punch coming at his ribs but also able to sense it from how the man's body moves. A preliminary warning system sorta-kinda. Though does it really matter what it's called when it works anyways? Shingo quickly releases his grip and brings his arm close to his body so that the punch doesn't hit where it could cause the most damage. Effectively, another elbow block sans kick. But he's not about to leave it at that. Shingo ducks in low, he doesn't bother to free up some space, and then springs up with a swinging elbow strike out away from his body to catch HeavyD in his jaw and lift him up. If that wasn't enough then he jumps with an shoulder tackle to the same jaw as an added boost to elevating his opponent before swinging in his right elbow to send D! flying through the air. Shingo shouting with each blow, "Bing! Bang! Boom!"

D!"s sort of helpless at this point, subject to Shingo's attack with his arm still locked. THe elbow jams up into his chin and sends his head back. Then, the shoulder tackle comes in, sending him upward into the air, the final elbow sending him up further. Flipping end over end, he seems to have taken a nice beating. However....as he comes down, D! seems remarkably able, swinging back to an upright stance...and as he lands, he has the power to drive his fist downward, colliding with the ground with a hard slam. And with that slam...well, Shingo might know this move too. The resulting explosion from the fist slam erupts toward Shingo, chi-charged burst threatening to send the boy back just like he did to D!.

HeavyD 0/-------/=======|=====--\-------\0 Shingo
Except it doesn't quite work out that way in HeavyD's favour. Shingo's arms come up instantly over his body in a cross-pattern to shield himself from the blast of energy channeled towards him. Blast him back? Nooooo. More like nudge him back. Shingo slides back as the burst envelops him but not much else. Well, that and some stinging sensations in his forearms. But that will get taken care of when the match is over.
Before the blast can fully die down, Shingo charges forward and grabs D by the back of his shirt. Yes. While he is still running. D's position is such that he wouldn't be able to get an effective throw done with the man's centre of gravity way lower than his. So he has to make up for it with momentum. Shingo -yanks- the boxer as he runs past and hefts with all his might to throw him with a twist to the side. The schoolboy releasing to make sure D flies and doesn't just smash into the ground. "Yaaaaa!"

The Throw, however, never happens. While Shingo does manage to yank at Shingo, he can't get a grip enough to completely pull him over, the boxer pulling back before he's twisted into the ground. "Nghh!" Watching the schoolboy carefully, D! frowns deeply. He knows he's going to have to start wearing him down before he's worn down himself. Slipping forward and advancing on SHingo again, he levels a left fist his way, snapping out hard with a swift straight right to the face.

An excellent manouevre performed by the world-class boxer, HeavyD. What form, what grace, what finesse! What face? That's right. What face? There was absolutely nothing wrong done on HeavyD's part. It was all well executed. The problem is that Shingo sometimes turns out to be a better fighter at certain points during a fight. This is one of those times. The punch is clearly seen coming and he takes effective counter-measures. Emphasis on counter. He leans to the side and swiftly sidesteps in past the fist and just brings his elbow down on D's shoulder, "Hiji Otoshi!" Then he hops back some distance so as not to get hit by a wake-up move.
HeavyD grunts as his straight punch is countered yet again, Shingo elbowing him down by the shoulder and forcing him to a knee. "NGHHhh...." He curses under his breath, especially as Shingo makes his way back from the counter. "Dammit," he grunts. Looks like he'll have to close the distance again. And close the distance he does. Charging forward, he starts wailing away on Shingo as soon as the boy's in range, massive hooks and body blows thrown out against him before the boxer finishes up with a windup, and then a big, bad Rolling Soul Driver.

Now. Give Shingo some credit. It's not like he stood up there to take each and every single one of D's painful punches all across his body. If he did he was probably under the influence or something. Because come on, seriously. Who in their right frame of mind would do something that dumb? Not Shingo. What he did do was bring up an arm to block. Should've used two hands, huh? Oh well. It's a moot point now with his form being battered and sent twisting through the air from the Rolling Soul Driver finish.
Shingo crashes to the ground with a loud 'UMPH!' and 'UNG!' and 'Ite!'. If only for a split second before ending up on his feet again with a wide grin. That hurt. But it sure gets the blood pumping. "Yeah! Great move, Mister D!" Shingo closes the distance with a quick run. Once he gets close enough, he does his best to duck and evade any defending punches before grabbing D! once again and tossing him to the ground by grabbing his shirt in front and leaing back with a leg up to send D overhead. Tomeonage style.

The boxer simply responds with a quickly muttered 'Thanks', D! a little too focused to bother with banter right now. With some good distance between him and Shingo, he's got enough time to react to the Kusanagi-ryuu mimicker with his charge. As he comes in to grab at the boxer's jacket, the Metro native slips back, darting to the side. Winding back his right arm, he quickly tries to snap it down onto Shingo's shoulder with an overhead haymaker, the crushing punch coming down fast and hard.

Smashing overhead crushing punch to the shoulder is a...success! Just...not a success on Shingo's side of things. Because that hurt. Not only that, he missed the throw. Has the tide of battle turned againt the Southtown schoolboy? Will Heavy D truly emerge victorious in this match-up against boxer and puncher? Stay tuned for the next exciting episode of....actually, nevermind. It's all going to happen right now. Shingo grimaces from the hit as he did what he could to roll out the way. But that didn't work. He does continue rolling though. Just to get back on his feet.
Then he gives this another shot. Seems that making use of the simple throws and grabs he picked up from Daimon, Megumi, and Mimiru aren't working in his favour. So does he give up? Of course not. He full intends to toss HeavyD to the floor using some sort of grappling before the night is over. Even if it kills him. Ok, maybe not that far. But even if he loses. He still gets the moral victory. Shingo reaches out to grab D's arm once again. Instead of throwing him though, he simply twists the man's arm in an awkward position that arms don't naturally bend in. Submission works too in a fight, right? "Uriyaaaa!"

Ok, that sucked. Despite having enough time to get out of the way, D!'s still grabbed and twisted over by Shingo, the wicked armlock causing the boxer to grimace and hiss in pain. "NGHhh...." He tries to pull away from Shingo...but see's that it's not going to work. So he's going to have to fight his way out of this. Bringing up his free hand, he tries to hammer his way out of the armhold, punching at several places on SHingo's body, specifically aiming for what he figures is the boy's blindspot...if he can at least get his hand free too, he's going to start using that one too to throw out some hard, deceptive punches for Shingo.

What if Shingo -lets- him get those punches in? What then? Is HeavyD effectively screwed? You never know. All depends on what the boy wonder does next against his most capable opponent. See Shingo can feel the boxer moving around under him and when the punches start he refuses to let go on the arm. Possibly hoping for a submission from the man of some sort. Sharp breaths of pain taken as he accepts each and every single punch to maintain his proximity to the other fighter. It's getting close to the line where it is decided who will triumph and who won't. He can't afford to give any room that could possibly be turned against him. The only thing that gets Shingo off him is the last punch hitting a vulnerable area. He has no choice but to get up.
However when D gets up, himself, he finds Shingo. Standing right in front of him. And rearing back ready to deliver some serious pain. A deep breath. "Burning..." The coiled arm springs forward in a hook punch at D's head. "SHINGOOOOOO!" It's the start of Shingo's version of the series of punches that Heavy D unleashed on him earlier. Instead of a Rolling Soul Diver, it ends with a smashing shoulder-slam to the other man's torso aimed to knock him back a couple metres.

Well, that was a total, utter bust. Not only did his punches only seem to help build up Shingo, but he can't even seem to muster up a decent block against Shingo's own punches. Geez, and so soon after impressing Sagat like he did, D! ends up folding like a cart table against Shingo's less experienced...yet seemingly more effective set of punches. Once the shoulder slam drives into him, D! flies off, crashing into the wall of the cellar with a crunch. Slipping down it, he flops down, seemingly out of it...however, with some final bit of energy, the boxer manages one last lunge at Shingo, driving his fist toward the boy with all his remaining power mustered into the surrounding soul of chi around his arm.

...And Shingo gets hit. Why? Who knows. Because seriously. He wasn't supposed to get hit. No seriously. He wasn't. All signs were pointing to him casually stepping out of the way of HeavyD's chi attack with no problem and without even breaking a sweat then walking off to collect his earinings from victory since that's how the match was supposed to end. Yet. Somehow. In some strange twist of fate. Shingo gets struck by the Rolling Soul Driver against all odds and probability. Today must be Heavy D's lucky day or something cause...man. Whoa.
Now most people would let something like that get to them. Shingo? Nope. Give him a second to recover from the shock and surprise of it all. He'll be fine. He did his best and has no regrets. He picks himself up from the ground, panting heavily, and scratches his head confused. Not quite sure if he really got hit or not. But he did. Since the officials call it a draw. Ah well. Shingo gives Heavy D a super awesome thumbs-up, "Dang. That was a really great match, Mister D! Thanks a lot for the fight!"
