Description: Here's the second of two Ikari vs Ninja SNFs this week. Leona and Ibuki's third dance partner (Karin) couldn't make it, resulting in the mercenary scoring a win over the shinobi. (Winner: Leona)
Another fight at the Pao Pao Cafe for this weeks SNF, but given the competitors is it really a good idea that they decided to have it here? As long as Leona doesn't have to pay for the damages she could care less about where she fights. She has been here for awhile now since she came over right after her commander's fight. It is a shame there was a few hours in between Ralf's fight and hers. Ralf got too bored to stick around and moved on to deal with other stuff leaving the young Ikari on her own.
Then again Leona rather likes just having time to sit and think. The only occasional annoyance is when someone tries to sit next to her at the bar while she waits. Most have learned their lesson though so there are two empty barseats now next to the mercenary as she waits for them to finish clearing out a portion of the cafe for the fight and casually glancing about to catch sight of her opponent when they arrive.
When Ibuki enters the cafe, she arrives just a few minutes later than scheduled, and seems a little surprised to see that only the tall and unmistakable Leona is present, and has to wonder if the fight is still on or not. "The other one's not here? Ehhh... " she asks, stepping up to the bar and slapping her hand down on it a few times to make sure she's got everyone's attention that she needs to. "I don't care what I've heard about you mercs, I'll still fight you, even alone. I'm bored so let's just do this." The announcer for the fight is right there behind the bar too, so he of course hears her loud and clear, and announces that she just barely missed being disqualified but he will allow the match to go on like this.
"Awesome, thanks." The girl in the ninja outfit then flips right up onto the bar, and goes about trying to kick a shotglass toward Leona's face without much warning or leadup.

Well at least one seemed to at least arrive, even if she is a bit late. She slips off the barstool and grabs her jacket to pull it back on while shrugging some afterwards. "Then don't disappoint me." she mutters while pulling her dogtags up and off from around her neck and begins tieing her hair back with them. Right then is when Ibuki seems to get the idea to attack Leona while she is a bit occupied. The Ikari woman keeps one hand on her hair while the other quickly lashes out to snatch the glass in the air, though her grip was a bit too forceful and it shatters in her hand.
"It will take more than that to impress me though." She opens the hand holding the broken glass and lets the shards fall to the ground before finishing tieing her hair. She then lashes out quickly after lowering her hands away and the uncut hand swings about to punch Ibuki square in the jaw, or at least attempt to.

Ibuki whistles a little bit from behind her mask when she sees Leona catch that glass with what seems like so little effort and then proceeds to crusg it in her grip. And then, "Yeah, okay, whatever." is her only reply before she throws both hands up to smack the mercenary's gloved fist away from her face, and then proceeds to flip up off of the bar and try to land on Leona's back. Should she succeed, she's aiming to push back with her hands and feet like some kind of monkey to slam the blue-haired woman's face down onto the nice shiny bartop.

Leona gives a bit of a smirk at the girls attitude, which is about as much of an expression of amusement the merc will give anyone. She pulls her hand back after it gets knocked away and those dark eyes remain trained on her opponent when she jumps onto the bar then flips off of it. The ninja will be disappointed in seeing she isn't about to hit her intended target. Instead only floor is seen below her as Leona swiftly moves out from under Ibuki while spinning around to swing an leg upwards then bring it down across the shoulder of Ibuki once she lands.

Ibuki ends up landing a lot harder than she intended after completely missing the perch she intended to bound off of, and she ends up landing down in a crouch that makes her look more like she's imitating a frog than a monkey. But it turns out that it's not exactly the worst position she could have been put in after whiffing an attack like that. From there, she can still twist around to avoid Leona's foot, as well as throw out her own kick and try to catch the other girl before she can withdraw hers. And a blade of wind seems to form along side the edge of her foot when she tries to strike the Ikari in the ankle with it, so maybe even if her foot doesn't connect, *something* still might. "Hya!"

Even if the leg doesn't meet it's intended target the mercenary is still quick enough to hop back when she notices the shinobi attempting to strike at the leg she is balancing on. While the kick it self doesn't connect, Leona isn't quick enough to avoid the wind like energy that hurtles towards her. Instead she holds her ground and raises her arms to cover her face for a moment till the energy dissipates and the mercenary then lunges forward towards to grab at Ibuki's top as she stands.

Hands reach out and grasp firmly and the mercenary pulls Ibuki up towards her while just giving a bit of a feral grin before hefting the smaller woman up and swinging her about to slam her head first into the floor. "You better prepare to fight harder than that to be a threat to me." she states rather matter of factly as she sits down on a barstool to wait for the girl to get back up.
Ibuki saw that look on Leona's face, and while at first she was fighting and trying to grab onto the taller woman's arm to try and get some kind of hold of her own going so she could turn it around, she quickly takes note of how powerful an arm it is and just stops somewhere in the middle, resigning herself to getting tossed just so that she can get the hell out of close combat expediently.
"Yeah yeah, I know. Get off my back why don't ya." the smaller girl calls back, before pulling herself up by grabbing onto a nearby chair leg. And then she proceeds to pick up that chair and hold it in front of her, not moving any closer with it just yet and just holding it at the ready, whether it's to block with or attack.
A brow quirks as the merc just watches the other fighter for a moment then slowly stands back up once Ibuki seems to be ready to continue. Usually she doesn't go so easy on her opponents, but since it seems that one couldn't make it she may as well not kick Ibuki while she is down. She raises her arms up in front of her and she shakes her head slightly towards the shinobi though remains from making a comment. Instead she pushes off her feet to leap forward at Ibuki while raising her arms as if ready to block something then quickly throws them both outward that causes purplish colored chi to come out in a X shaped wave to tear through the chair and slam into it's wielder while Leona lands about two feet away from her opponent.

Ibuki puts the chair up in front of her more than fast enough, hoping to use it as a shield, but when Leona's chi slams into it, the thing is sliced through so easily it's almost exactly the same as if it weren't there at all. The ninja gets cut into in that same x-pattern and is left reeling for a moment. Or at least, it seems like reeling...

Leona has dropped a connection.
One of the mercenary's hands quickly whips out to grasp one of the parts of the broken chair out of the air as it falls and she then takes a step foward while leaning forward to snatch another part up off the ground. With the girl apparently dazed she takes the chance of lashing out with one of the sticks to slam into the shinobi's side and then attempts to drive the girl back against the wall with her strength as the other hand lifts up and then brings the other piece of the chair down across Ibuki's head. "This ends now."

That's true, the fight probably would have been over right there if Ibuki was struck that hard in the skull with the jagged piece of wood Leona was weilding, but the ninja was still a little too fast to let that happen. She was never actually stunned, the whole thing was a feint, and she was waiting for Leona to do something just like this so she could take her by surprise. When that busted chair leg is thrust out, Ibuki dodges to one side and grabs it to twists it at several awkward angles until Leona can't keep her grip on it without spraining a finger or worse, and then once it's in the ninja's possession she uses it to slam into that bigger piece that Leona was trying to knock her out with. The resulting impact as both girls strike as hard as they can causes the wood to splinter and explode into hundreds of tiny little pieces with a loud crack, and Ibuki throws a foot up to try and catch Leona in the midsection with it, hoping that she's startled by what just happened or maybe she'll end up getting something in her eye.

When the wood feels like it is about to be loosed from her grip the mercenary is quick to release it though she still tries to follow through with her first strike. *Smack!* The two pieces of wood collide and Leona has to tilt her head to the side to avoid the bits of debris that fly about. Her free hand though is quick enough to mostly redirect Ibuki's kick to where it barely glances off Leona and only causes a slight grunt in annoyance.
Thankfully the shinobi is still in close range though at this point. Leona quickly pulls her two arms back and thrusts them forward towards the other girl as energy gathers in front of the palms into a green orb. That orb then explodes outwards in Ibuki's direction in an attempt to impale her or if not at least create some seperation room between the two fighters.

Ibuki gets that unimistakable "OSHI-" expression on her face when her totally awesome kick is stopped and she's left pretty much completely open to counterattack up until she can get that foot down and leap away. Her arms go up and cross into a guard whenever Leona begins her attack, but that sharp concentration of chi is way too much for her even her bracers to handle, and they're sliced right through and her arms get so torn up that she eventually just has to drop them and get other parts of her cut unless she wants them to be comepletely useless for the rest of the fight. "Ssss...!! Aaah that freaking hurts!"
Afterward, the girl turn around and seems to plain stagger away from Leona, holding her arms and bleeding all over everything, but after one last little stumble, the girl reaches up and tugs down her mask with one finger. "You're gonna pay for that one... I mean it.. " she mutters, and then raises a shiny black kunai to her mouth, clenching it tightly between her teeth. There's then a brief little flash of blue light, and after that flash, she's suddenly on the opposite side of the Ikari woman, spitting to kunai out onto the ground, bleeding some more and starting to lean forward and pant. And as soon as that kunai hits the floor of the cafe is when the two find out whether or not the shinobi was actually successful in hitting the mercenary at all...

Leona stands up fully after the last of the energy dissipates and she nods slowly in response to Ibuki's words. "Very well." she says rather calmly and then hunkers down some to await the shinobi's next move. Of course there is no real way to know how she managed to handle Ibuki's quick strike because the ninja's movements are almost too fast to read even for the Ikari woman. Her face scrunches up in a bit of a pained look as a hand rests on her side where her tank top has been torn open and there is a gash there.
She turns about to quickly push Ibuki away from her then she takes to the air. "I'll show you how to make a proper cut." Eyes narrow as she twirls about in the air and raises a hand high into the air as she comes downwards at Ibuki.

Down comes the hand in a slanted slash that cuts across the front of the shinobi's front as the mercenary lands in front of her in a crouch before quickly turning her hand about then leaping upwards again to leave a V-shaped cut across Ibuki's front. She lands a few feet behind Ibuki and then turns about and glances towards the other woman. "Do you have anything left in you are are you done?"
Ibuki blinks her eyes a few times at Leona after she makes that remark, looking a lot like all the blood she's been losing is starting to make her senses dull, and a lot like she's about to just fall right onto her face, but then she tears the tattered bracers off from around her wrists and puts her sliced-up arms on display. "I -think- you got that -covered- already, thanks!"
And then she of course tries to drag her wounded self out of the way when Leona comes down at her with one of those dangerous hands of hers, but she really way too slowed down to get very far so the effort is pretty much a waste. "Hgk- !!" The shinobi chokes out, clenching her teeth and starting to stumble back while clutching at her chest. She eventually backs herself right into a table, and pulls herself up to take a seat on it, trying to rest for just a moment, holding up one finger and panting for breath. "Yeah... yeah.. just one second.. I can still fight..."

She has to give it to the younger woman, she doesn't seem to want to quit despite how bad the beating. That is perhaps Leona gives a nod and crosses her arms while letting Ibuki take a rest. "Very well." Even if she isn't going after the wounded girl she does still keep her eyes locked on the other fighter as she calmly waits for the shinobi to make her next move. "Come at me whenever you are ready."

Ibuki reaches into her torn gi with a rather discreet movement while she's sitting there and catching her breath, hoping that it goes unseen, and then she goes rolling back off of the table and kicks off of the edge, tossing out another black kunai, this one having such a dark luster that it could easily be missed with the speed at which is travels if one weren't expecting it. The light of the cafe doesn't seem to glint or flash off of it at all.

To the untrained eye the attack is rather quick and most fighters might not have been able to notice the quickly thrown kunai that is sent the mercenaries way. There is a slight quirk of her lip and one of her own hands lashes out to throw a knife that was being concealed in her coat. The throwing knife flashes brightly when it leaves Leona's hand though, flaring up with energy as it clashes into and shatters the kunai as it continues on it's path towards the seated shinobi. "Nice trick, but not fast enough."

Ibuki comes to land in the exact same sitting position on another table behind the one she just flipped off of after tossing out that dime-a-dozen ninja knife, and gets to sit there and watch the more expensive and well-cared-for throwing knife the Ikari pulls on her knock it right out of the air and come right for her head. She then takes one last deep breath, and sighs as she leans back really far and just about puts her back flat against the tabletop to avoid the knife at the last second.
"Whatever! I thought everyone said you were quiet and stuff! Stop trying to say cool lines!" she whines, before swirling her legs out and twisting herself up into a handstand on top of the table and jumping back just like that to the next one closer to the tall Ikari.

There maybe a slight look of annoyance across Leona's features, but just like most other expressions it is a very subtle shift of the brow or maybe the quirk of the lips downwards that give a hint of it. She has perhaps given the girl a bit too much time. At least by the snarky comments that she belts out lets Leona know she is ready to fight again. Maybe that is why the mercenary does remain quiet as she rushes forward to leap onto the table then leaps forward to twist about and once again bring one of those rather large boots downwards, this time aimed at Ibuki's head.

One would think that Ibuki wasn't in a good position for reacting to Leona's attack in that position before making her own, since doing something that takes such balance to do, especially when you're all woozy, has got to be more of a set up for attacking than avoiding something. And that'd be right. The ninja can't avoid Leona's painful kick. But no one ever said she needed to either. The winner of this fight was clear from pretty early on in the match. Ibuki has find an opening so that maybe the Ikari won't go away feeling 'disappointed'. And toward that in, she takes that kick to the head with little more than a grunt, and manages to just barely keep from getting knocked off the table by setting her sweaty little hands flat against the table, squeaking back inch by inch until finally she stops, and then she pushes straight up and tag onto the ceiling and cling to it for just a scant for seconds with her feet while tossing out every kunai she has stashed anywhere on her. "Take these with you, damn Ikari!" But of course, once they're all out, so is her chi, her energy, and all of her wakefulness, so she goes crashing back down through that pile to land in a tangle of arms and legs amongst the broken wood.

The mercenary lands rather easily after the strike and then raises her arms to ready for any sort of trick the ninja might pull out of her sleeves. Her eyes remain trained on Ibuki as she jumps upwards and her eyes widen just slightly when the kunai start getting thrown about her way. There is no way to avoid all of them, so she tries her best to avoid some as others manage to knick and graze her including one that opens up a small gash across her right cheek.
She is breathing heavier than normal, but still seems to be fairing pretty well when compared to her opponent. She steps down off the table she was standing on and nods her head to the fallen shinobi. "Perhaps you will get me next time." she replies and turns about to head out of the Pao Pao. No need to hang around now that the fight is over.
