Description: Psycho Solider against Ikari. A match that one would guess that would be rather close, but apparently Kensou isn't a morning person and in the end Leona comes off with a rather easy and impressive victory. (Winner: Leona)
What sort of madman expects anyone to fight /before/ lunch? It's cruel and inhuman, is what it is. Not that this has stopped Sie Kensou, of course... Arriving with time to spare, for once (otherwise who knows what his teacher might've done), the Psycho Soldier has been here since the camera crew started setting up, and all the barricades went up; admittedly, there isn't /that/ much of a crowd for an 11 AM fight in the woods, but there's still people. Anyway, Kensou is eating a ham sandwich, because he's not about to go into a fight on an empty stomach, as he waits at one side of the cordoned-off fighting area for his opponent to arrive! He remembers Leona only very vaguely, and that he almost ended up fighting her during the Schools Tournament some months ago. Well, he's got the opportunity now! But at the moment, he seems mostly preoccupied with his sandwich.
It has been some time since Leona has made an appearance for any sort of fight. Not since the fight in Russia during the semifinals of the King of Fighters tournament to be exact. Truth be told she had been busy with things in Metro, like trying to find where Rolento has been keeping Ralf hostage. After a few weeks of healing up after a rather big fight the woman decided to sign up this week to try and get some stress relief worked out.
She had arrived about a half hour before the fight was scheduled to begin, but she has stayed away from people for the most part and has been waiting for things to begin. Finally when the time comes around the mercenary starts stepping towards the cleared off area serving as the ring and she waits for Kensou to finish eating. Once he steps in that ring though the boy is already going to start working off those calories because once the ref shouts fight she is coming straight at him with what looks like a rather vicious right hook meant to catch him across the jaw.

Well, since Leona's here, Kensou of course crams the rest of the sandwich in his mouth and chokes it down, crumbs left all around his mouth. With table manners like his, it's truly a wonder Athena doesn't simply swoon at his feet! "So, hey, let's make this a goo--" Alas, he doesn't even get to finish his friendly comment before he get punched right in the jaw, his head snapping sharply to the right. "Keh!" he exclaims, but he then immediately goes on the offensive; he staggers back one step from the punch, before he hops back towards Leona, moving his body in a straightforward flip to bring his feet down, axe kick-style, at her head and/or shoulders... The main difference from someone /else/ doing this, of course, is that his feet are surrounded with a bluish-white light, which trails through the air behind them as he makes that flip. "Ya-!"

The Ikari lays into Kensou hard with the punch then quickly plants both feet in the ground to wait to get herself resituated and fall into her fighting stance. The move Kensou uses is actually a bit familiar, Leona herself uses a variant of that style kick so when she see him come in for the strike she already has calculated a good way to deal with it and not get too hurt. One arm comes up to take the brunt of the kick while her other goes to grab Kensou by the ankle. If she gets a firm grip she spins on her heel and uses her momentum to swing Kensou about then slam him hard into the ground.

This is not going well, so far. Kensou gets grabbed, and then slammed into the ground - which kinda hurts, incidentally - but he doesn't stay down for long before he's flipped backwards and /away/ from Leona, laughing awkwardly. "Okay... Guess I'm gonna havta go all-out on ya!" he says, bringing his hands up in front of his face briefly, his arms sweeping outwards almost immediately after... To launch a bluish-white sphere of energy directly at Leona. "Choukyuudan!" he cries, as the energy ball hurtles towards the Ikari.

The mercenary finishes her full spin and plants her foot back into the ground while letting out a soft 'tch'. "You should have given it your all from the start." she replies while turning about and raising her arms again to face the other fighter. She makes no attempt to move out of the way of that energy blast, instead both arms raise and cross at the forearm to absorb the blow again. She then throws her arms downwards then dashes straight for the Psycho Soldier before hopping forward then crouching low before launching herself skyward while a hand fishes into her coat and throws a cylindrical object at Kensou. Be it man or ground it hits, that cylinder will release a small explosion that will leave a small hole in the latter if that is where it lands.

Trying to get out of the way of the explosion, Kensou doesn't really manage it... To be honest, it doesn't really hurt /that/ much, but now there's blood on his bare leg, slowing down his reactions. "Ow, ow, dammit, ow," he says, gritting his teeth, adding more quietl: "This is startin' to piss me of." But, rather than go immediately on the offensive, he crouches down in his wide-legged stance, putting one hand on the ground, his eyes closely focused on the Ikari Warrior, watching how she moves. He's kinda glad he didn't have to fight her in that tournament, actually!

"Is that all then?" is the question uttered by the Ikari after landing in a crouch. She shakes her head while slowly standing up and glares daggers at Kensou. She has to admit she is getting a bit of stress worked out, but she expected the boy to give her a bit more trouble than he has so far. "I will end this quickly then." she says with a bit of a malicious grin and charges forward as she reaches into her jacket again. She closes in and then leaps forward and to the right to dive into a roll in an attempt to expose Kensou's backside to her. She comes out of the roll with a knife in hand and she flings it at the Psycho Soldier as blue chi seems to trail off the blade as it sails towards the Ikari's opponent.

This time, at least, Kensou is able to mount some sort of a defense. Oh, this is getting so embarassing! Especially in comparison to his much closer showing against Shingo the week previous. He twists, and knocks the blade aside, though the chi does burn and it does leave something of a cut on his forearm... But it's definitely not as much as it could've been. "Don't worry, I ain't done yet. It's time for me to show you my secret power!" he explains, reaching behind his back as he tries to keep /away/ from Leona, and from behind his back he produces... A meatbun? Perhaps he means to throw it at her! Except, no, he's eating it. Perhaps a little of his favourite food will get the Psycho Soldier back onto a better footing against the Ikari Warrior...
Is this guy kidding? No, apparently not. Leona thought he was actually going to pull out a knife of his own or something. Instead she just stares at the man as if he just did the most retarded thing a fighter could do. "Now you are just mocking me..." she growls and her hands clench into fists. "Fine, no more going easy on you. I'll teach you to eat while fighting." The Ikari pulls her arms back while rushing in right at Kensou while he is gorging himself and then she throws both hands forward and creating a greenish ball of chi that crackles then explodes to impale him.

Actually, that bun was a little disappointing; it seems things are really not going Kensou's way at all today. And then he gets blasted by Leona! Which is even worse. Tumbling back and away from her, Kensou lays there on the ground for a few moments, some smoke rising off of him and a frustrated sigh escaping his lips. "Actually, I wasn't mockin' ya, but..." he grumbles, as he gets to his feet and settles for a second time into that low stance, one hand braced against the ground. This time, though, he does something else! "Haaaaaa...!" he growls out, as bluish-white trails of psionic energy flit about him, gathering together. Maybe he can't win this now, but... He can get in at least /one/ really good shot...

The Ikari woman remains standing with arms outstretched for a moment as the last traces of the gathered energy fade away. The boy already looks to be on his last legs, but he doesn't seem to be out of tricks at least. Most people might just stay away when someone starts to gather about their energy like that, but Leona may just be a bit overconfident right now. Smirking somewhat at the display Leona adjusts the fingerless glove on her right hand then she nods slowly as if agreeing to something. She raises the hand and starts running full speed right at Kensou. That hand chops downwards across the Psycho Soldier's chest once in range and even if she doesn't have a blade drawn that hand will cut clothes and leave a nice gash across any skin it comes across.

It does hurt, really, though Kensou manages to get his arms up and in the way in time, breaking most of her slashing momentum. He's really not doing very well... Most of the 'fight' has really gone out of him in today's disappointing showing on his part, but he's definitely got enough left in him for one last hit. And there isn't much question, but this point, of what that's going to be; after blocking the worst of Leona's hit, he shoves her arm aside and then lunges forward, his intent on getting inside of the Ikari Warrior's reach, so he can place the palms of his hands against her torso. It's not really a grab, he's definitely not striking hard enough for his palms to do much damage, but...

For whatever reason, though, Kensou doesn't quite get into the right position, and so what happens next is sort of a 'misfire'; rather than Leona being trapped in the middle of the sudden enormous explosion of Psycho Power, she'd be more in the periphery of it, as the blue-white energy expands and batters at her, most of the smaller secondary explosions inside of the sphere missing her entirely. Ultimately, the blast doesn't end with its usual explosive 'bang' of lost control, but rather with more of a fizzle, leaving Kensou standing there with smoking palms and an irritated expression.
Leona lets out a bit of a disapproving snarl when her strike doesn't quite hit its mark. It seems like he has more fight than she had expected. With her one arm caught she has to use her other one to deflect Kensou's strike that results in the misfire of his attack. The part of the blast that does hit causes the Ikari woman to let out a bit of a grunt then she attempts to grasp the Psycho Soldier by his shirt. "That's enough out of you." she mutters and attempts to heft him up off his feet and toss him away to put some distance between herself and Kensou so she can resituate herself and decide on how to deal with things.

And, perhaps unsurprisingly, Kensou is indeed thrown! How vexing. But the worst part is probably that he then proceeds to get back up, even though he's running on proverbial fumes at this point. "Dammit..." Really, really not his morning. But he isn't quite done yet. He runs towards Leona again, taking a big swing at her with his left fist; should that fist land, then, Kensou follows it up with a quick combination of more punches, which ends with a double-axehandle aimed at the underside of Leona's jaw! "I'm not done just yet!"

Finally after all this time it looks like Kensou gets the opening he had been looking for. It might be a bit of overconfidence on Leona's part, but mostly it is in the quickness that the Psycho Soldier recovered and was back in the Ikari woman's face when she turns around. Those blows land solidly and the final one slams into her jaw and causes Leona to lean way back as if about to topple over while staggering back, but then she regains her footing and she regains her balance while spitting some blood off to the side and rubs her jaw...and boy she doesn't look to happy, even more so than usual. Nothing fancy this time around it seems. She just reaches out to grasp Kensou by the collar of his shirt for now.

$t That hand gets a firm grip and Leona pulls Kensou in close and she just grins wryly. "Goodbye, you have been a decent opponent afterall." she tells him before he finds himself being hit hard in the stomach with her other hand that is holding a larger version of the explosive she used earlier. She holds her hand there for a moment and once the counter is down to almost being zero she lets go and leaps back away from the rather large explosion that engulfs Kensou.
It's sort of a shame how terrible Kensou's defenses have been today. It's really made for an awfully one-sided battle, all things considered... And now he's getting blown up. How ironic that he's getting hit with, after a fashion, what he failed to hit Leona with earlier! The explosion is extremely painful, of course, and it sends a battered and bloodied Kensou - his nifty fighting outfit all wrecked, dammit - flying and then rolling a bit... And he lands in a heap. Other people would probably just admit defeat right about now, but Kensou isn't really most people. With a surprising bit of agility considering he just got exploded, Kensou gets to his feet at dashes towards Leona, one of his arms - the one which was cut earlier - dangling at his side. He's trying to put his other hand on her again, pretty much as he did before, though as he's almost out it's not nearly as quickly as the previous instance. However, he's not gonna fall down until he's given it everything he's got, which is pretty much just this...

Finally things seem like they might be over. That blast is rather devastating to begin with so she thinks Kensou would be down for the count, but once again she is surprised by him being able to get up. Though it seems like he is on his last legs. He is moving a bit slowly and his movements are easy to figure out. That is why when he comes in to strike he only hits air as the Ikari dives to the side into a roll and comes back to her feet with her back to the other fighter. "Thank you for the little spar." she tells him as she starts to walk off. He is beaten it would seem and there is no reason to linger. She will just collect her money and move on.
The announcer for the fight steps forward as Leona passes him and then clears his throat. "Winner, Leona."

Indeed, after the miss of his last attack, Kensou is pretty much flat on his face. It's pretty much been his worst defeat in a long time... And it's going to look all the worse now that his teacher's around. He's really never going to hear the end of this one.
