Description: The name says it all for this SNF match up. (Winner: Shingo)
It's been a while since Sie Kensou last participated in a Saturday Night Fight; not since his fight with Ramon, which admittedly didn't go so well. Certainly, it could've gone a lot better! But it's with his characteristic seemingly inexhaustible (and possibly baseless) well of self-confidence that the Chinese fighter is making another return to the televised weekly event! Yes, nothing is going to keep Kensou down for long; especially not here on his home turf! Or as close as he's going to find off the continent, anyway. So, in the midst of the area partitioned off by barricades and policement and camera crews, with at least something of an audience crowded around beyond, the Psycho Soldier is getting ready, psyching and limbering up. Well, actually, he /starts/ to stretch, and all, but that seems like an awful lot of work, so really Kensou just sort of does a very cursory stretching routine, before doing a quick (and ostentatious) standing backflip. "Yeah! I'm as ready as I'll ever be!" Now, he just needs an opponent.
Silly Kensou. Your opponent has been here all along. He is hiding in plain sight. Shingo is prompt for the match, early even, but got caught up in the crowds and greeting his fans and everyone else that wants to talk to him like your typical super friendly guy tends to do. Fanboys and fangirls alike reach out for high-fives, handshakes, waves, and smiles from the Taiyo student. When he finally makes his way to the area where he'll be fighting he grins at Kensou, "Yo Kensou! Good luck today!" Thumbs-up pose. Shingo has been up for a while now and doesn't need to do any of that warming-up stuff. He's been running around doing errands so he's all limbered up and ready. He just has to wait for the officials to signal that they can go ahead and give all these people a good showing of martial arts prowess.
Megumi did not get booked in a match this week. That's not a huge disappointment since she got to be part of the main event twice, so a week off is okay. Leaves her schedule open to be waiting at the edge of the fight area, and once Shingo emerges from another part of the crowd, she's quick to join in the applause for him and cheer him on. Nothing witty or truly inspired, but she yells out with "Go for it, Shingo!" And then...to watch.
Oh! Hey! There he is. Kensou gives a bit of a start as he notices Shingo, laughing sheepishly. "I try not to depend on luck!" he calls back to Shingo in reply. This is, of course, because if it weren't for bad luck, Sie Kensou would have no luck at all. He hops lightly from one foot to the other, before dropping into his usual sidelong, wide-legged stance, hands raised, his expression all focused! And determined! It's not long, then, before the SNF officials give the signal for the fight to start, and the Chinese fighter wastes no time, bringing his hands up in front of his face and then immediately sweeping them outwards, which is accompanied by the appearance of a distinctive bluish-white sphere of energy, that hurtles directly at Shingo. "Choukyuudan!!"
COMBATSYS: Shingo blocks Kensou's Choukyuu Dan.

Like a good girlfriend, Sakura's not far away. True, she hasn't been in a fight for two weeks, but she's not terribly upset about that. She'd been needing a break anyway, right? She shows up a bit after the fight starts, sifting through the crowd. It's hard to miss the pink-haired Megumi, which is who she's gravitating for. "Sorry I'm late." she mentions, before throwing up a fist. "C'mon, guys!" She's obviously cheering for her boyfriend... even if she wouldn't mind a good showing from Kensou as well!
Oy. Projectiles right at the get-go. Why do people do that anyways? Just because Shingo has a counter against most forms of physical attacks and throws doesn't mean you always have to resort to throwing energy his way just to bypass it. Really. Who knows? Maybe he won't even use his dreaded Moon Elbow technique. Hey, quit laughing. Shingo hehs at Kensou's response and keeps the grin on his face even as he guards himself against the oncoming blueish energy orb. The sphere impacting against his raised forearm and feeling different from typical energy attacks. Oh yeah, that's right. He's a Psycho Soldier. Duh.
Shingo wastes no time in coming in with a counter attack. Right after he blocks the Choukyuudan, Shingo steps into a forward jump at his opponent. His body twisting into the arc that is usually forewarning to what many consider his best technique. "SHINGO KIIIIIICKU!" The heavy leg belonging to the boy aimed directly at Kensou's head. Seeing that he's so kind enough to just stand there and take it.
COMBATSYS: Shingo successfully hits Kensou with Shingo Kick.

"Tch," mutters Kensou, as Shingo proves to be quick enough to block the sphere of Psycho Power. Unfortunately, this distracts him a little, so it's a bit of a surprise to see that foot of Shingo's coming towards his noggin, and even more unfortunate is how he doesn't quite move out of the way in time. "Oh, cra--" And, boot to the head! The force of it knocks Kensou /down/ (with a resounding, sympathetic 'Ohhhhh!' from the local fans), but the Chinese fighter isn't down for long; instead, he pops right back up, aiming a fist right for Shingo's face. Should it land, well, the psion adds a few more punches, before ending with a double axe-handle aimed at Shingo's jaw. "Ha-!"
COMBATSYS: Shingo fails to counter Ryuu Renda from Kensou with Tsuki Hiji.

So it seems that a boot to the head must be equaled with a punch to the face. It's only fair. At least that's how Shingo sees it. Considering that his attempt to slam Kensou back down with a droppping elbow strike failed miserably. The Chinese boy's fist moving faster than he expected it too. Shingo's face becomes Kensou's punching bag for the duration of the flurry of fists. The final strike to his jaw sending him stumbling away from the psion. Rubbing his jaw from the slight pain, Shingo grins, "Nice one. Didn't see -that- coming!"
Because they're both Nice Guys (tm), Kensou grins back at Shingo, thumbing his nose a bit smugly. "Well, let's see how you handle this, then!" He keeps on Shingo, now, attempting to press the advantage, dashing a few steps before throwing himself into a horizontal jump, his left elbow and knee extended with the intent to slam them into Shingo's face and gut respectively. Again, this is just setting Kensou up for a combination; if /that/ lands, the Psycho Soldier twists to bring his right knee into Shingo's gut, and then continues twisting right around, his left heel brought to bear, aimed in a roundhouse at Shingo's side! "Yaaa-!"
COMBATSYS: Shingo counters Ryuu Renga from Kensou with Tsuki Hiji.

Shingo 0/-------/--=====|=======\-------\0 Kensou
That's a pretty big 'IF' there, Kensou. This time Shingo is ready for the oncoming attack and takes the necessary steps to prepare for it. The shorter fighter is leaping at him with a double strike to the face and guy, is that it? No problem for the taller boy. His eyes stay focused on Kensou and he waits until the last minute to react.
First thing Shingo has to worry about is the elbow to the face. That will hurt even if it is not overly powerful. The face having some pretty vital stuff there. Like his nose and eyes. Shingo kinda likes those and blocks with his own elbow. One attack down. Now to take care of that knee. Using Kensou's own momentum against him, Shingo allows himself to fall back from their elbows connecting whilest simultaneously shooting out a thrust kick right past Kensou's knee to strike -him- in the gut. Of course from all this Shingo still goes tumbling to the ground, "GECCHU!" And hopefully so shall Sie.
And now we see what happens when Kensou gets overconfident. The Chinese fighter gets floored by Shingo's counterattack - or, more properly, /streeted/ - rolling onto his back before hopping spryly to his feet. "Okay... I saw that one goin' differently," he says, shaking his head a bit woozily. But he's not out yet! No way! Instead, he takes a few quick steps and then leaps into the air, aiming himself right towards Shingo. "How about this?!" He's actually, comically enough, mimicing the motion of the Shingo Kick - intentionally! - except that the foot he's aiming at Kyo's Number One Student is alight with Psycho Power, a streak of blue light enveloping his foot, and following it through its arc. It's certainly flashy, but will it have any real substance to it?
COMBATSYS: Kensou successfully hits Shingo with Ryuu Sougeki.

Such a comical sight it is too that Shingo laughs when he gets up on his feet after the spill he took. This teaches him to not to do that sort of thing in the middle of a match again. Regardless of how 'friendly' it is between the two participants. Because Shingo gladly takes the psuedo-Shingo Kick to the head after taking so long to get out of the way. Serves him right. Right into a recovery roll that is. Yabuki poppping up ont his feet to the side of Kensou. Where he grabs a hold of Sie's clothing to pull him forcefully closer...just to slam a powerful backhanded fist into the boy's side to send reeling away, "Teya!"
COMBATSYS: Shingo successfully hits Kensou with Hatsugane.

Shingo 1/-----==/=======|=======\=====--\1 Kensou
Yes, Kensou fights as much to amuse the spectators (and opponents, if he likes them enough) as he does to win... So, it's as he basks in the crowd's amusement at seeing Kensou imitate one of Shingo's better-known techniques that, much to his own surprise, he gets grabbed and backhanded, the wind getting knocked right out of him as he reels away. Oh, he tries to deflect some of the damage, but wouldn't you know it? He goes about it all the wrong way, and that ends up being even /more/ painful. Landing in a heap, Kensou slowly gets back up, wobbly, taking a staggering step back as he tries to focus on Shingo. "Good one," he calls over, clearly trying to gather his faculties, and then immediately slipping into 'overdramatic' mode. "But, now you've done it... It's time for me to show you my true power." A brief breeze rustles his hair and clothes, as he stands there, basking in the 'awed' silence of the crowd, reaching behind his back... And bringing that hand back out quickly, a piping hot pork bun held dramatically. "My super certain death ultimate technique!!" And, he pops the meatbun in his mouth.
Somewhere in the crowd, Sakura slaps her forehead and falls the heck over.
Super certain death ultimate technique he says. Shingo obviously readies himself for some sort of truly devastating attack that is sure to come from his opponent! How devious! And then Kensou pops a meatbun into his mouth. WTF. The camera switches views to a SD shot of Shingo facefaulting against the concrete. Back to reality, Shingo shakes his head at the other fighter and tsks. "You're not getting away that easily!" Shingo calls out and charges hoping to catch Kensou in the gut just as the meat bun enters his mouth to cause him to spit it back out. And barring that, just to cause the boy some pain for standing up there for a snack. The final impact of Shingo's technique being a quaint little shoulder ram that will probably send the Psycho Soldier careening through the air.

Mmmm, meatbuns... Delicious AND nutritious! And probably provided for free by a local bakery... Kensou /is/ 'one of them', after all. He's still chewing as Shingo charges at him, eyes widening. Hey, wait! That's not fair at all! Unfortunately, the best the Psycho Soldier can do - since he's busy hastily swallowing the bun - is throw his arms up in the way of that tackle, and while he manages to keep his feet on the ground, he still skids backwards, leaving a bit of the soles' rubber behind. "Keh~!" he exhales afterwards, rubbing some crumbs off of his face. "Whoa, whoa. That was dangerous! Didn't your mom ever teach you not to interrupt someone--" His right hand comes up, and he makes a quick tossing motion, to hurl another sphere of Psycho Power at Shingo! "--while they're EATIN'?!"

Another shield is hastily thrown up against the incoming energy projectile. This one sliding Shingo back about a foot in distance. With a grin he shouts back at Kensou, "Hey now! It's not my fault you just had to have a snack in the middle of our fight!" His arms lower and just like before after Kensou threw his first energy ball, Shingo is in the air again coming down like a blue human rainbow. If rainbows were a single colour. And had heavy foots behind their kicks to the head. The enzuigiri-type kick coming to the side of Kensou's head and hooking it to drive him into the ground, SHINGO KIIIIIICKU!" Shingo isn't really going out of his way to hurt his fellow fighter. He just sometimes forgets his own strength. Maybe Kensou will wise up and get out of the way this time.
COMBATSYS: Kensou endures Shingo's Shingo Kick.

"Proper nutrition is always important!!" Kensou replies indignantly, a bit annoyed that Shingo managed to defend that second sphere of Psycho Power... But then there's something else for him to worry about. This time, however, the Chinese fighter doesn't even try to dodge, or block, or much of anything else... He just stands there, and takes the hit. Shingo's foot strikes Kensou's head with a very resounding noise, causing it to snap to one side as, yes, he's driven towards the ground! Except he only gets as far as a crouch, and /now/ he's holding Shingo by the ankle with one hand, reaching up with his other to tap it against his opponent's chest...
COMBATSYS: Shingo blocks Kensou's Senki Hakkei.
[ \\\\\\\\ < > //// ]
Shingo 1/-------/=======|==-----\-------\0 Kensou
Unfortunately, it seems like Kensou - probably through some movement of Shingo's - doesn't quite get the 'bite' he needs, but nevertheless something rather spectacular happens! An enormous sphere of Psycho Power springs forth, though it's not /quite/ centered on Shingo like it ought to be, filled with searing miniature explosions that lash out at the other young fighter regardless. "Haaaaaaaa-!" The blast lasts for a few moments, really, casting a weird light in the afternoon-lit street, before finally the misfired Senki Hakkei winds down, and Kensou is left there, still crouched - though he's let go of Shingo's ankle - looking quizzically at his smoking right palm. "Huh... Damn."
There's a simple explanation, Kensou. For you see when you grabbed Shingo by the ankle he figured something was up and already started to do something to get out of the grip as best he can before Kensou can get a solid hit off him. It doesn't go as planned. There's a firm grip on the ankle. Darn. So he's not going anywhere. Most he can do is twist his body and use his arms as a shield and hope for the best.
And the best it is! The light fills the area and even causes damage to Shingo. It stings, but he'll live. It also goes without saying that he's still able to get up and strike back! "Don't you know you shouldn't take your eyes off your opponent in a fight? It leaves you...WIDE OPEN!" Shingo shouts at the palm-staring Kensou to wake him up. That's not all! As seen from the fist zeroing in on a certain kung-fu fighter's jaw. Shingo really likes that hook punch of his. He'd like it even better if there were some wisps of flame surrounding the fist.
COMBATSYS: Shingo successfully hits Kensou with Aragami Mikansei.

"Huh?" Kensou wonders, which is about when he gets punched right in the face by Shingo. Ow. Well, you know, it's not every day your most feared technique just misfires like that! It's distressing! By this point, it's pretty clear that all the fight has gone out of the Psycho Soldier, but maybe he's got enough - just enough - for one last shot. As he recoils from the Aragami Mikansei, Kensou gets one hand on the ground and falls back on it, aiming a quick one-two kick at Shingo's face, before he's gonna fall down for a bit, here, his steam pretty much all gone.
COMBATSYS: Kensou can no longer fight.

Maybe he's got enough for one last shot, but it just isn't enough to take out Shingo. The accomplished Kusanagi-ryuu kobojutsu practitioner slapping away both punches from his face. A quick hop back with the motion ensures that he does avoid taking too much damage from the attack. You know, to avoid one of those messy DKOs. Kensou doesn't look like he'll be getting back up to continue the fight so it seems that for the third week in a row, Shingo is declared the winner of the match. Raising both hands high in the air he grins widely for the pleasure of the crowd, "I...won!" It's not about gloating. Just speaking the truth. For he then extends a hand to Kensou, "Great fight, man. We should do it again sometime." Grin.
COMBATSYS: Shingo takes no action.

COMBATSYS: Shingo has ended the fight here.
Laying there on the street, Kensou looks up at the blue afternoon sky for a few moments, before he even /tries/ sitting up. "Acha~..." Man, once ol' Chin sees /that/ showing, it's gonna be toting ridiculously heavy items up and down stairs for a week for Kensou. Groggily, he looks over towards Shingo, with a sheepish chuckle. "You were a lot tougher'n I was expectin'," he says, taking the offered hand and giving it a friendly shake, even though he's sitting down. From there, the Chinese kenpoist gets to his feet on his own. "Maybe next time, if you're lucky, I'll show you my /real/ super certain death ultimate technique," he adds confidently. Then, as if on cue, his stomach lets out a loud, gurgling growl. So hungry!
Sakura throws up her fist as Shingo declares victory. Not just because he won, but as she shouts in her own words, "Great fight, you two!" Not that her voice can actually be -heard- in the din of the crowd, but still.
Megumi is quick to cheer once Shingo's victorious, making a fist-pump into the air and applauding. No point rushing out there, especially since Sakura might want to do that. Support from the sidelines is fine.
