SNF 2005.06 - Kain vs Takuma

Description: A battle between the head of Kyokugen Karate verses the mighty Kain. The battle could only be summed up by one word: EPIC. (Winner: Kain)

As usual, Howard Arena is packed tonight. Who would want to miss the main event of this week's SNF spectacle? It may not be Ryu in the fight, but the Sakazaki name isn't exactly unknown, and Kain is already starting to rise in popularity after his performance in the free for all with Ryu and Iori. Kain makes his way casually into the arena, paying little heed to the cheers and yelling of the fans. Being popular isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it's not one of Kain's goals. People are quite free to cheer for him if he wishes, however.
As the blond man approaches the fighting floor, the loudspeakers come to life, the announcer's voice telling the audience just what they want to hear. "We've got a great match lined up for tonight's main event, folks! Takuma Sakazaki versus Kain Heinlein! Are you ready to see some action?" Judging by the surge in the roar of the audience, they're quite ready to see the two men commit acts of violence against one another.

The announcement of Takuma being in the main event has drawn out many a Southtown natives to see the partially retired fighter making a rare appearance. He could easily be considered one of the hometown favorites given the many years he has lived and fought in the city. His arrival is signaled by the loud gong being rung over the left entrance of the arena. From there two younger fighters clad in white gi's come flipping out then do a few katas before kneeling at the entrance.
The crowd roars when the elder Sakazaki steps out barefoot wearing a black gi with the sleeves torn off. He pulls off the towel from his head and slings it about overhead before tossing it into the crowd. "Oyaji!" He yells out to the people then he steps up to await Kain and give the man a respectful nod.

Kain hops lightly up onto the fighting floor, and returns Takuma's nod. Much as he loathes Geese, this is the kind of thing that makes participating in these events worthwhile. He's familiar with Takuma's reputation, and the elder Sakazaki strikes him as an opponent he'll be able to enjoy fighting. With a few rare exceptions, one doesn't achieve that kind of mastery over a martial arts style without having some real drive, willpower... The kind of inner strength that Kain appreciates in people.
Kain briefly adjusts the fit of his tight blue gloves, then slides his left hand partially into his pocket as he settles into a relaxed pose. It doesn't exactly leave him looking ready for a fight, but looks can be more than a little deceiving. The cheers and cries of the crowd die down for a moment, a hush coming over them as it becomes apparent that the fight is about to start. Kain flashes a brief grin in Takuma's direction. "Ready whenever you are."

COMBATSYS: Kain has started a fight here.

COMBATSYS: Kain focuses on his next action.

COMBATSYS: Takuma has joined the fight here.

Takuma rests a hand on his shoulder as he starts to roll an arm about to loosen up, then switching arms to do much the same before he raises his arms and gets into the typical Kyokugen fighting stance. Muscles tense and the older man smiles to the German. "Very well then. Let us not disappoint the crowd!"
The Kyokugen fighter then springs off his bare feet, the momentum carrying him forward towards Kain rather quickly while he snaps a leg forward to slam into Kain's shoulder. With surprising agility for a man his age, Takuma spins about still in mid-air. He twists and flings his other foot out to likewise attempt to catch the side of Kain's head. "Kyaaaah!"

COMBATSYS: Kain blocks Takuma's Hien Shippu Kick.

Kain watches warily as Takuma leaps toward him, watching to see the direction the attack will come from. The start of Takuma's spin gives Kain enough warning to react, raising and bracing his forearm to let Takuma's kick slam into that, rather than Kain's head. The force of the blow pushes him back slightly, but not enough to prevent his quickly forming a counterattack.
As Takuma begins coming down from his leap, Kain's foot is rising up to meet him. Purple flames flare up around Kain's foot, streaking behind it as he swings his leg straight up to land a kick to Takuma's torso, intending to knock him back into the air. Between the strength behind the blow, and the explosion of flame chi that accompanies it, this shouldn't be too difficult a task. If that succeeds, Kain leaps into the air himself, launcing a blast of fire from his hands at Takuma, while at the same time opening up some distance between the two of them.

COMBATSYS: Takuma dodges Kain's Schwarze Lanze.

With cat-like grace Takuma manages to push himself away enough to land on the ground without much trouble. He isn't staying in that spot for too long it would appear. Another leap backwards and a flip seperates him from the incoming foot swung around by the German. Upon landing again, Takuma charges forward towards Kain. Hopefully he is off balance enough that he can manage to grab the other fighter and sling him about to plant him hard into the ground. If he manages to take Kain to the ground he gives a quick jab into the German's shins before standing back up. "Gotta be faster than that kid."

COMBATSYS: Kain dodges Takuma's Oosotogari.

Kain leaps away from Takuma's attempt at a grab, skidding backwards for a brief moment as his feet come into contact with the stone floor again. "I'll bear that in mind..." As he finishes speaking Kain begins rapidly spinning around. Sparks appear around his right foot as comes close to a 360 degree rotation, and with a quick kick off the ground he launches himself toward Takuma, flying toward the air with his right food leading, waves of purple flame streaming out behind him. If he manages to plant his foot in Takuma's chest as planned, those same flames will rush forth to meet the elder Sakazaki, exploding in a spectacular fashion.

COMBATSYS: Takuma blocks Kain's Schwarzer Stob.

Hands grab nothing and Takuma quickly takes a step back while trying to make sure he doesn't leave himself open. Thankfully he manages to get enough time to get his arms up and let that foot slam home against his forearms. The force of the blow is still enough to knock Takuma back a few steps, but at least it isn't near as punishing as it could have. He comes in again at first looking to make a grab, but instead he just ends up jumping upwards once he is close enough to sling his knee forward to clip the German right in the jaw. "Ora!"

COMBATSYS: Kain blocks Takuma's Light Kick.

Kain crosses his arms in front of himself as Takuma's knee comes in, letting the attack crash against his defenses rather than hitting him in the jaw. It appears for a moment that he's forced backwards by the blow, but it quickly becomes apparent this it was intentional on Kain's part. Flames flare up around his hands, and as he swings his arms out from the guard position the flames leap forth, two fireballs spiralling around one another as they cross the short distance between Kain and Takuma.

COMBATSYS: Takuma fails to slow Schwarze Flame from Kain with Ko'ou Ken.

The attempt to find an opening still has yet to work. Takuma will have to admit he is impressed with his opponent so far. There isn't much time to set himself up a proper defense. The elder Sakazaki instead tries to summon forth his own chi energy to gather it forth to negate Kain's fires. He just doesn't have enough time and before he manages to release the burst the two fireballs slam into Takuma and his own energy goes flying off to the side harmlessly. He tumbles backwards a few feet before finally stopping the momentum by rolling up onto one knee and breathing a bit heavily. "Nice shot." he grumps and stands up while popping his neck and trying to clear the cobwebs.

Kain's not going to give his opponent a chance to rest. Just because one attack made it through is no reason to get cocky, but it is a good reason to stay on the offensive. While Takuma is tumbling Kain is already advancing on the older man, sprinting over the distance between them. He reaches Takuma just moments after the elder Sakzaki gets to his feet. As he closes in on Takuma, Kain gives off an impressive display of acrobatics, coming to a dead stop and leaping into a backflip, purple flames surrounding his feet as they swing up Takuma's body, aiming to collide with his jaw, then continue onwards to let Kain land safely back on the ground.

COMBATSYS: Takuma dodges Kain's Schwarzer Mond.

The small rest is all that Takuma needs to resituate himself. Years of experience have allowed him to take the hardest of blows and be able to recover from them moderately fast. Brows raise as Kain halts his rush and then as he takes to the air so does Takuma. A leap backward allows the attack to narrowly miss him. He lands a few feet away from the German and then he roars out while throwing his arms into the air and charges at Kain quickly and attempts to then grab the man around the waist.

COMBATSYS: Takuma successfully hits Kain with Strong Throw.

Those large arms of the Kyokugen fighter encircle around Kain's waist and Takuma then squeezes with all his strength. With another roar he shakes Kain about mercilessly and then spins about to shot put him away before flinging a fist in the air to get the crowd to erupt into another loud cheer.

Being squeezed by Takuma certainly doesn't do any good things for Kain's spine, and then as he's tossed away he impacts heavily with the arena floor, bouncing once, although he then manages to twist himself to land on his hands and knees as he hits the ground again. Kain gets back to his feet while the crowd cheers at the spectacle, feeling something pop back into place in his back.
Kain holds his hands out in front of himself, then draws them back, dashing forward across the arena toward Takuma. He shifts himself to lead with his elbow, purple flames flaring up around his arm as he does so. It looks like he's planning to crash his elbow into Takuma, but he stops at the last moment before impact. Just because his body stops, however, doesn't mean that the flames do. Instead, they flare up in intensity, exploding outwards to engulf Takuma.

COMBATSYS: Takuma endures Kain's Schwarz Cutter.

Kain charges in and yet Takuma makes no movement to get out of the way. He takes a deep breath and as that massive energy lashes outwards Takuma grits his teeth and lets the release of the chi wash over him. The flames start to die down and the elder Sakazaki remains standing as his own body is now glowing with the amount of massive chi he is gathering. "Haoh sho..." he begins as fists clench and flare up with the orange chi that runs into them. "Ko'ou Ken!" he roars and releases the large amount of chi right at Kain.

COMBATSYS: Takuma successfully hits Kain with Triple Haohshokoken.

And if the release of that large amount isn't enough the elder Sakazaki is still gathering forth more for another blast and he then makes it three times a charm as the last one is released to envelope the German. Caught off the high of move Takuma then tears off his gi top and throws his hands in the air. "Oyaji!"

As the wall of orange chi comes rushing toward him, Kain brings up his arms into a defensive position, purple flames starting to flare up around them in an attempt to dull the impact. And it works for the first one, which manages to push him back, but doesn't break through his guard. Unfortunately for Kain, he immediately begins moving to attack Takuma again, not expecting the two attacks coming in behind the first one. There's no time to make any sort of attempt at another guard; Kain gets blasted clear across the arena, coming to a smoking stop near the edge of the stone floor.
After a moment or two Kain gets back to his feet, a little unsteadily. A quick shake of his head, though, and he appears to be back in the fight. "Impressive..." As he finishes speaking Kain draws his hands back to one side, a spark of greenish-blue flame appearing between his palms. "Himmlische..." The flame quickly expands outwards, and as Kain thrusts his hands forward into balloons into a massive sphere of roiling chi flames, which briefly hovers in front of the German. "...Seele!" And with that shout, the fiery orb launches toward Takuma, threatening to engulf the Kyokugen master in its flames.

COMBATSYS: Kain successfully hits Takuma with Himmlische Seele.

"Same goes for you kid. You got up from one of Kyokugen's most dangerous moves." he tells the German. The fight is rolling on and the Sakazaki has gained nothing but respect for Kain. Anyone who could last this long against him and get up from such a powerful blow would get nothing less....unless they are Geese. Fuck him. He takes a few deep breathes to regain some of his strength as Kain seems to prepare his own dangerous attack. As that ball of fire is launched Takuma tries to leap upwards and over it, but it comes in faster than anticipated. HIs legs get caught in the blast and he goes flipping forward to land in a crouch. He tries not to let it stop him for too long though. He pushes up back onto his feet and rushes forward and he then throws a fist right at Kain. "Hyaaaah!"

It takes Kain a little bit of time to recover from the Himmlische Seele, but not long enough for Takuma, apparently. As Takuma rushes in Kain is ready and waiting, leaning to one side as the punch comes in and letting it sail harmlessly past him. This leaves Kain on Takuma's flank, and gives him an idea. There's not long to think about it, but it seems like it might be worth a try.
Kain slips around Takuma a little bit more, trying to get behind the elder Sakazaki so that he can extend his arms and place his palms on the older man's back. Even if he doesn't actually manage to come into contact with him, getting close is all it will take, because with a little bit of concentration Kain summons up another one of those massive balls of fire. Hopefully right on top of where Takuma is standing, then launches it forward to give Takuma a very painful trip to the other side of the arena. No annoucement of the move this time, or motions to make sure the orb of chi is completely stable; this needs to be done quickly.

A lesser fighter would have probably just been decimated by Kain's tactics. Even if he isn't as quick as he used to be, Takuma is ever observant and he glances over his shoulder, just giving a bit of a grin at Kain before he leaps forward and goes into a roll that sends him across the arena in a way that Kain did not intend. He comes back to his feet and spins about while releasing his own blast of chi, albeit a much smaller one than his previous blast at Kain. "Ko'ou ken!" He then raises his hands to read for Kain to come at him again while the German decides what to do with the energy being thrown his way. "Got me once with it, not letting it happen again."

COMBATSYS: Kain overcomes Ko'ou Ken from Takuma with Schwarze Flame.

Kain makes an exasperated noise as Takuma leaps out of the way of his attempt at a surprise attack. "Tch." Still, it's not like he's angry at the older man. This has been quite an exciting fight so far, just the way Kain likes it. As the next blast of orange chi comes toward him, Kain watches it warily. This time, however, it's small enough for Kain to see that it doesn't have any friends coming along for the ride. The blond man thrusts one hand forward, launching a blast of flame at the incoming attack. Kain's flame blasts right through the center of the Ko'ou Ken, causing the orange chi to destabalize and fall apart before it manages to reach Kain. The Schwarze Flame, meanwhile, continues on its merry way toward Takuma.

This seems to have turned out to be quite the main event. Both men just won't seem to stay down right now and there still seems to be no clear winner in this match. He seems a bit surprised that his attack is negated so easily, but there is plenty of time and distance between the two fighters that Takuma rushes forward to leap and flip over the flames and lands to continue his run then he leaps to the air to swing a foot outwards to nail the German right in the face. Eww, smelly feet.

The kick to the face probably would have hurt, but it becomes a moot point as Kain steps to the side, letting Takuma's foot viciously mangle the air molecules where Kain's head used to be. A quick pivot on one foot brings Kain around to face Takuma again, and he throws his arms wide, causing a massive explosion of purple flame to leap out from his body toward Takuma. Even if Takuma avoids that, it serves as cover for Kain to thrust his arms out and launch dual jets of flame at the Kyokugen master.

If someone ever says Takuma isn't acrobatic then they are a damn liar. He lands and barely has time to do much of anything. He backpeddals away from the initial burst then he twists and turns as the twin jets lash out and narrowly miss the cartwheeling Sakazaki. This is just wearing him out way too much. He doesn't know how much longer he can outlast this opponent at the rate he is being blasted at. "All right, take this!" he calls out and he leaps forward to sling a fist about to meet Kain's kisser. Someone play his themesong right now.

COMBATSYS: Kain dodges Takuma's Fierce Punch.

Even Kain is starting to get a bit worn down by this fight, which is an unusual occurance. Even when he's lost, fights usually haven't dragged on quite this long. Easy as manipulating chi is for him, he still has limits. He hasn't quite hit them yet, however. He's still got enough energy left to move quickly though, and he easily dodges to one side as Takuma's fist swings for his face.
Any exhaustion in relation to his flames isn't apparent to any outside observer yet, as Kain once more brings purple fire to life in his hands. With flicks of his wrists, Kain sends another pair of fireballs streaking toward Takuma, the flaming projectiles orbiting around one another as they close in on their target.

All this jumping around and acrobatic shit is getting tiring. Takuma is feeling sore all over and he isn't really wanting to deal with avoiding the incoming blasts again. Once again he tries to negate that attack with his own pattened fireball. He just forgot things didn't work too well the past two times and this time is no different. His own fireball is eaten by the flames and they then slam into Takuma and send the Kyokugen fighter to one knee and breathing heavily. "Prepare yourself, kid....these next few moments probably won't be pleasant for either of us."

Kain's not in great shape, but it looks like he's at least better off than Takuma, for the moment. For one thing, he's still on his feet, which allows him to charge in toward Takuma. He doesn't have too many of his larger attacks left in him, but he didn't study Grant's Ankoku Karate for nothing. Once he closes in on Takuma, Kain lashes out with one hand, throwing an open-palmed strike at the older fighter's face. Even now, however, Kain manifests his flames, purple fire crackling around his hand as he attempts to hit Takuma.

Standing up slowly the elder Sakazaki's eyes are fixed on the incoming fighter. Kain brings his hand around in an attempt to hit him with that open palmed strike. Then with a quick motion Kain finds that hand grasped by the wrist and then a hard punch thrown right into his gut. "Told you so." he mutters quietly and sort of leans forward as if he is about to pass out from exhaustion. Instead he manages to push Kain backwards after releasing his wrist and he stumbles back a few steps and once again raising his hands. It ain't over yet kids.

Kain doubles over from the force of Takuma's fist being driven into his gut, staggering backwards as he's pushed away, giving Takuma time to recover and get back to his feet. Painfully, Kain straightens back up, extending one hand outward toward Takuma. Fire springs to life around his hand, but if someone were to be watching very carefully they might see that it seems to sputter for a brief moment before flaring up completely. Even with all the chi he's been wielding, Kain's still more than capable of summoning more, but combining that exertion with the physical battering his body has taken is enough to actually give him some difficulty. This is the first time /anyone/ has managed to accomplish this, gaining Takuma quite a bit of respect in Kain's eyes. Not that it keeps Kain from launching forth another blast of flame in Takuma's direction.

There it is again, Takuma was somehow expecting this. It has worked well against him afterall so why not try again? This time though he thought he had an answer for the flames. "Haoh sho Ko'ou Ken!" he roars loudly and he brings forth the large blast of energy in an attempt to overcome Kain's attack. Yet again it isn't enough and the energy is parted by the flames that hit the Sakazaki in the chest. He stumbles back and lands on his knees while breathing heavily for a few moments then he raises his hands. "He wins. I need a drink." he mumbles to the ref who announces Kain as the winner.
Takuma feels no shame for saying those words either. He looks over to the German before managing to get to his feet then shows his respect to the other fighter by bowing to him. "Not bad kid. I want another go at it sometime though. It ain't over."

When Takuma conceeds the match Kain's shoulders droop ever so slightly as he allows himself to relax, no longer struggling to keep himself in fighting shape despite the beating he's taken. He's still on his feet, but it probably would have taken only one more good blow to put him down, and he knows it. He gracefully returns Takuma's bow. "Likewise. I look forward to fighting you again. ...And if you'd like a drink, would you care for being treated to one? My gift, in exchange for an enlightening match."

A good way to finish a long day of fighting and dollars well spent by the people who paid to see this fight. The elder of the two fighters raises his hand once again to wave to the fans before he gives a respectful bow. They are the reason that he still comes back to fight every so often. He needs to let them remember Kyokugen Karate is still around afterall.
He turns his attention back to Kain and he grins at the offer. "Sure thing. That's a classy offer, but it will have to wait a bit. I think I need to soak in the icetub for a bit." He is just too sore and feels like he is about to fall over. He picks up his tattered gi top and gives Kain one final nod before turning away and walking towards the locker room.
