SNF 2005.06 - Megumi vs Shingo

Description: SNF match between Megumi and Shingo. Can anyone stop these fighting machines? (Draw Match)

Another Saturday, another fight. It's still early in the eve, about 5:30pm, and the sun is still bright enough to see clearly due to the tilt of the Earth's axis during this period of the year. If one didn't have a clock they would think it was but only late afternoon close to four o'clock. There's a crowd gathered on a section of the beach that has been assigned for today's/tonight's Howard Enterprises match. It's not the main event, but there are still a good bit of onlookers to view. Choosing the beach as the venue was obviously deliberate in gathering a decent audience.

Because it is the beach and he doesn't feel like taking the sand out of his shoes when this is over, Shingo has shown up in formal beach attire. That's correct, his usual pair of blue trunks, white t-shirt, and barefooted. He stands waiting for the official to give the word when to start the fight, hopping up and down on the sand to keep his blood flowing from his warm-up. Casting a grin and a thumbs-up to Megumi should she look over in his direction. And already here. Or else she gets the pose when she shows up.

Megumi wasn't already here, but she's certainly not late. Taking a cab here, she pays the driver and gets out. Unlike Shingo, she's stuck with her preferred outfit, the only change being sandals instead of shoes. She has the same concern he does: keep sand from being an irritation.

"I guess it's been a while, hasn't it?" is Megumi's greeting to the thumbs-up. She's a tad quiet, but relaxed. "I'm...well, I'm ready when you are, okay?" A few quick wrist-locks are inflicted upon herself to stretch out, then she settles into her Aikido stance. The one she usually leaves the very moment the fight starts, yes.

COMBATSYS: Megumi has started a fight here.

Giving himself a few more last quick stretches full expecting the match to start in any moment, Shingo nodnods to his opponent and friend with a grin, "It sure has. So let's make this a good one and have fun." A pleasant sentiment to say the least. When he's ready shortly after Megumi gets into her stance (wait, she uses aikido?!), Shingo does the same. Complete with blue gloves. He saves the black ones for major tournaments.

The signal is given by the SNF official and the match officially starts against the backdrop of crashing waves against the sure. The wind picking up a lot from the gentle breeze it was just now. Though it's not enough to blow any amount of sand into the fighters' eyes. Shingo nods to the announcer and Megumi as he launches into his first attack. Which is normally a punch. This time he decides to mix things up and swiftly spins around with a hopping spin kick targetted at Megumi, "Teya!" The kick itself making use of the sole of his foot, toes curled back to avoid unnecssary injury, and aimed for the shorter girl's midsection. As always when fighting females, he doesn't aim for the face.

COMBATSYS: Shingo successfully hits Megumi with Oboroguruma Mikansei.

"...Yeah," is Megumi's soft response to Shingo's sentiments. Even with her stance, she looks a little hesitant about this. Hesitation that slows her down, as her attempt to jump aside from Shingo's kick comes too late; she's caught in the rib and sent spinning away with an "Urk!" to vocalize that it did sting. She goes with the spin however, using it to get a bit of distance from Shingo and thrust her right palm out. A sparkling red ball about the size of her hand forms, and flies towards Shingo...then past him, then her hand clenches into a fist, causing the ball to explode near him.

Cutting Oboroguruma Mikansei short was something Shingo decided to do after seeing her early hesitance at wanting to start the match. Which is quite possible given that the kicking technique is normally a 3-hit series of kicks instead of one. That was her first and last freebie though. Just to wake her up or something like 'Hey, get your head in the game. Have fun!' So he is actually pleased when she retaliates. So what if it is a projectile? He's used to the annoying things by now. Dating a little hadouken machine notwithstanding.

Shingo doesn't make any effort to block or dodge the orb of exploding strange energy. Strange because it doesn't quite feel like any other type of projectile he's been hit with before. Now isn't the time he should be thinking about stuff like that and so shrugs it off as he plows through the explosion. "SHINGO KIIIIICKU!" Right into his signature kick that takes him through the air at Megumi. The leg coming down hard on her body where neck and body meet. Oops, almost got her face. Good thing he didn't. He wouldn't be able to forgive himself for like a whole couple hours.

COMBATSYS: Megumi counters Shingo Kick from Shingo with Flood Reversal.

Megumi ensures that Shingo doesn't get anything. That kick is strange, and pretty fast when one considers Shingo is flinging himself along. Given his size and strength advantage, a collision like that would go Shingo's way...and yet she holds still, catching his kicking foot at the ankle and shin, before twirling and tossing Shingo away onto the sands. For what's supposed to be a 'for fun' match, Megumi looks very serious about this. Not angry or unhappy, but...intent. Focused, as she stands in place and watches Shingo...

Hitting the sand once, Shingo bounces to his feet after executing a quick recovery roll. He slides a little in the loose sand from the manoever but he'll get over it. Unlike Megumi, his face isn't the least bit serious. Well, just slightly. But there's still an indication of a smile/grin present. He's enjoying himself. Might as well show it. Even if he did just take two solid hits from the pink-haired girl.

"Nice one, Megumi!" Shingo cheers on coming at her again. He'd better. They are having a fight. "Give this one a shot!" The boy plants his left foot onto the sand and takes a huge step forward with his right that puts him into the position if he were doing lunge exercises. The right hook punch that comes immediately after his foot is firmly on the ground proves that it is no simple exercise. Foot and punch moving in tandem together to make the motion that much smoother. Given the chance, he moves back by reversing the footwork. That is, just stepping back with his right leg.

COMBATSYS: Shingo successfully hits Megumi with Aragami Mikansei.

Megumi runs to meet Shingo. And all this back and forth footwork seems to be doing well at confusing her, as she tries to spin away from an expected attack...only to go /towards/ Shingo's hook punch and once again be struck in the ribs, crying out. Shingo hits hard! But it isn't changing her mood very much. She's still quiet, still moving, just taking this fight as it goes. The hit rocked her out of her spin, but Megumi's still very close, and cartwheels forward, staying on her hands as her legs swing up to try and wrap around Shingo's head, then if she gets it, she'll swing backwards to slam him to the beach surface. Sand's a soft thing to land on, but with enough of it underneath it's thick enough to be suitable for driving one's opponents down onto.

COMBATSYS: Shingo fails to counter Storm Hold from Megumi with Tsuki Hiji.

Megumi           1/------=/=======|=======\==-----\1           Shingo

The cartweel was something that surprises Shingo. Has it really been that long since he fought Megumi that he doesn't remember that particular move? Who knows? He sure doesn't. This would explain why in the middle of the cartwheel he rushed in to drop his elbow down her to slam the girl into the sand. Pretty ironic that the exact opposite happens. The legs from overhead wrapping around his neck causing the boy to shout out in shock, "Bwah?!" An instant before having his piledrived into the sand, giving him a brief memory of being powerbombed by Vice. It all seems so familiar. Even the slight dizziness felt from head trauma. He's on his feet in no time, but not in any rush to attack right away.

Megumi is likewise in no specific hurry to take the offensive. As Shingo yells, she carries through on her technique anyway...but right after it, she rises and looks at Shingo, as if unsure about what just happened. Still in the fight though, as her stance is tense. On guard.

COMBATSYS: Megumi focuses on her next action.

Megumi           1/------=/=======|=======\==-----\1           Shingo

If Megumi is going to stand around and not follow-up with another attack, then who is Shingo to complain? He shakes his head free of the few bit of daze left in him, not to mention the sand in his hair, and hehs at her. Though not really saying anything. He studies her carefully and ponders what he should do next. If his count is correct, she has hit him more times than he has hit her. If he doesn't take the strength of their attacks into account, then currently she had the advantage. So taking time out to focus wouldn't probably be the best course of action. He nods at this and makes his move.

"What are you standing around for?!" Shingo shouts out as he starts moving again. Instead of moving in a straight line at her, he jumps into the air angled in on the female fighter. Hopefully this change in tactics will be to his benefit in turning the match around in his favour. "You're wide open!" Shingo lands right in front of Megumi in a crouch. With no space to lunge, he instead springs up from the crouch to drive his punch into her gut. If it hurts. He's sorry about that. He can't help how hard his punches are. Especially those devious right hooks.

COMBATSYS: Shingo successfully hits Megumi with Aragami Mikansei.

It hits and it hurts. Megumi is expecting an uppercut, from how deeply Shingo landed. She doesn't get it, and once more tries a spinning evasion...this time away from Shingo's hook, but it's wide enough to catch her in the stomach anyway, and she falls down to her knees as the wind's knocked out of her. "I guard, right?" A quick cough follows, then she flicks her wrist to the side as she stands, trying to grab Shingo's shoulder right after that.

Her wrist-flick is more than just a gesture. As she does it, a thin red line of energy forms on that hand, races up her arm, then down her body, along a leg...and ends on the bottom of one of her sandals. That's when she tries to plant that foot on Shingo's chest, and the energy blasts out as a thin ray. A ray that should, ideally, drive Shingo back while it expands into a wide cone, the tip digging into him and the open end large enough for Megumi to fit in. She leaps up, and descends towards the cone feet first. Once she's in it, it'll drive forward, and if Shingo's still in the'll go through him.

COMBATSYS: Megumi successfully hits Shingo with Exceed Charge.

The punching tactic was a success! Except too much of a success it seems. Yes he did get past Megumi's guard (or lack thereof) to land another one of those dangerous punches of his against her body. But, it also put him in the position to get severely beaten into submission. Her flicking wrist grabbing a hold of his shoulder. Faster than he thought possible that she could move, he finds her foot against his chest and blasting him back along the sand. His eyes widening as he thought the worse was over only to see a cone rapidly expanding as it continues to push him back. Sand being kicked up all around him creating a cloud of dust in his wake. The sand cloud drastically increasing in size when Megumi comes crashing down into the middle of the energy drill plowing Shingo back. At this point there's nothing he can conceivably do except suck it up and take it like a man. A dead man is still a man. Oh wait. He does make an attempt to summon the last bit of his energy into his right hand. The right hand that plunges through the great cone of energy towards Megumi in the form of a megaton punch right before she hops out her little attack to watch Shingo eat up the rest of it. A large hole in the front and back of his shirt is all that's left when it passes through him.

When it's all said and done, Shingo was moved at least fifteen feet from all that wonderful theatrics Megumi put on. Miraculously enough, he's still standing. Drool or saliva of some sort at the corner of his mouth and his face showing the exhaustion his body feels. Still, he smiles. "Ow...darn. That was a really nice one, Megumi. Awesome match." A hand is raised to his mouth as his cheeks bulge and his other hand holds his stomach. He's fighting the urge to puke in public. Though from the bulge and even more liquid dripping from the corners of his mouth. He just did and is holding it in. Swallowing it back down even. Eww. Not much left to think about. Shingo drops to his knees once the fear of throwing up on the beach has passed. Then flumps over on the sand, his face turned to the side so he doesn't suffocate himself. And you know, add insult to injury. Imagine the headlines if he did. Student Commits Seppuku on Sand! Anyways, Shingo's out like a light. Nap time. Ooooh, look at the pretty colours.

COMBATSYS: Megumi can no longer fight.

Megumi drops out of her cone in a deep crouch, tired once it smashes through Shingo. Very tired. She slowly gets up and turns to face Shingo, knowing he's going to need another hit to take down, arms ready to defend against what she thinks will be a high kick. But Shingo smashes into her with that punch, and he smashes her down very, very well. She's knocked onto her back, and...down. Not unconscious, but down long enough to be counted out. Shingo, it seems, has over-exerted and /is/ out...but she's considered effectively incapacitated, so her consciousness is not enough for her to take the victory. After a count by an official, the match is loudly declared to be a 'Double KO!' -- Some people are disappointed, understandably. Others laugh, thinking the result is funny. Others still clap anyway, appreciating that the two put in a good fight. And then a few people become hecklers, they're the sorts who just don't like the late-teens sort of fighters, or the energetic types like Shingo. About a good minute after the ruling, Megumi gets up...tired, but making her way over to Shingo, to see if he's awake yet.

Awake? Nope. A tremendous amount of strange energy bombarding your body? See if you get up right after. Though it could just be that Shingo has a low tolerance for non-physical stuff such as energy tends to be. It's not that he's really worn out, per se. It was a massive shock his body received all at once. Similar but not quite like when one gets struck by lightning. Or so he would guess. For the most part, he's laying in the sand. Drooling. What a dork.
