SNF 2005.05 - Kensou vs Ramon

Description: The Psycho Soldier almost turns a beating from the El Diablo Amarillo into a victory. At least the meatbuns will always be there for him. (Winner: Ramon)

Chinatown
Looking as if a few blocks of Hong Kong had been lifted up and
transported across the Sea of Japan, Chinatown adds another bit of variety to
Southtown. Rivaling San Francisco's in size, the area has slowly developed
into a home for those who move to Japan from nearby Hong Kong. Best known as
a place to purchase goods otherwise unavailable, the area is a nest of both
Chinese culture as well as that of a few other ethnic groups. A variety of
bizarre and unique shops and restaurants are sure to interest almost any
resident of Southtown, even those who've lived here all their lives.

Isn't it nice that everything is so neatly cordoned off for the use of the
participants in tonight's Saturday Night Fight?  It sure is.  With plenty of
space barricaded off in the midst of an open street, cameras and even something
of an audience of locals behind the barricades, there's certainly enough room to
move when it gets down to it.  Which suits Kensou just fine!  At the moment, the
Psycho Soldier is checking the laces on his Keds, making sure he's not going to
do anything so foolish as trip over his own shoelaces in the middle of a fight,
while waiting for his opponent to make their own arrival.  Of course, he's here
first...  It's sort of a home field advantage, for the Chinese psion.  "All
right...  This week, it's all about me," he mutters to himself, as he hops to
his feet.  Yes, light and limber!  "I ain't slowin' down for nobody."  It's all
in the attitude...  Hopefully.

And a certain Lucha Libre is also present for this particular fight.
Approaching the splintered street with a rather light step, in the midst of
casual stretches from the onset, he's dressed in his black and green
spandex-striped ensemble, eyepatch and short-cropped blond hair, light beard and
all. There's a healthy number of people beyond the guards, cheering and
whooping. Likely mostly for Ramon, and it's impressive someone popular in Mexico
has a fanbase in Japan already. "Hey!" is stated with a cheerful wave,
approaching towards Kensou with a wide grin before extending his hand for a
shake. "I'm El Diablo Amarillo, in the flesh. Let's have a good fight, no?"

On the other hand, while Kensou is cheerful in return - it's a welcome change of
pace from all the people who, you know, go around stabbing him and/or lighting
him on fire out of simple malice - he gets a bit of a blank look at Ramon's
introduction.  Well, the Luchador might have developed himself a fanbase here in
Southtown, but the former KOF participant doesn't recognise the name!  "Yeah, of
course," Kensou replies with a grin of his own, shaking Ramon's offered hand.
"Best if we put on a good show for everyone watchin', and all."  Oh, he's got
his own fans, mostly locals...  Though whether or not it's just fame reflected
off of Athena is an open question.  "So no holdin' back, now!"

There's a heart little pump given, full of amiable energy. It's definitely
assured that Ramon is a friendly and laid-back figure, and he appears to
commiserate just as much that there's another fighter out there that's not
hardened, stoic, murderous, or an old man. "I was about to say the same thing!"
is earnestly said in regards to giving a show, laughing while flexing his arms
overhead. "And let's keep it fair; After what Whip pulled, you might get mobbed
if you try something /too/ underhanded." A tinge of bitterness, but also
honesty. There's a good number of people flashing his colors, after all.
Spreading into an aggressive stance, fingers flexing, Ramon beckons at Kensou
with another grin. "I'll show you what Lucha Libre is all about, esse! Let's
go!"

COMBATSYS: Ramon has started a fight here.
COMBATSYS: Kensou has joined the fight here.

Hmph!  As if Kensou would ever fight dirty!  ...Well, unless the other person
/started/ it.  Then anything goes!  But, if he's upset in the least by Ramon's
warning, the shorts-clad Chinese youth doesn't make a point of showing it,
instead hopping lightly from foot to foot before settling into his wide-legged
sidelong stance.  Unfortunately, he doesn't have any brave declarations to make
about showing anyone much of /anything/, except for the fact that he's
definitely not about to go holding back.  "Haa...!"  Both of his hands come up
in front of his face, and are quickly swept back outwards, a sphere of
blue-white energy forming in midair even as it hurtles towards Ramon.
"Choukyuudan!"

COMBATSYS: Ramon dodges Kensou's Choukyuu Dan.

Ramon            0/-------/-------|-------\-------\0           Kensou

"Let's get this show on the road." Ramon muses, before he then bolts into a
run towards the other man. The minute distance between is reduced in a
heartbeat. As the ball of energy is hurled across, the Lucha Libre does a
sideways flip in a rather impossibly acrobatic manner that takes him cleanly
over. Landing in a crouch before Kensou, a lightning motion snaps him to the
right before he then returns to the left and spins, attempting to slam his back
heavily into the younger fighter. It would seem to be a rather peculiar
assault... At least, on the onset. Already some people are fairly impressed by
his ability to move, however -- flashy and dangerous. Quite the mix.

COMBATSYS: Kensou blocks Ramon's Snapmare.

[ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  /////////////////////////''   ]
Ramon            0/-------/------=|=------\-------\0           Kensou

Although it seems the surprise factor isn't quite enough for the other
quick fighter. Both hands reach up, attempting to grasp Kensou by the head and
/hurl/ him violently over his shoulder towards the ground with all the force of
a roaring train. It doesn't go off quite as expected, but is probably far from a
comfortable experience regardless.

Well, /Kensou/ is certainly impressed by Ramon's reaction times, though not so
much that the Chinese fighter is completely taken off guard.  The initial slam
hits pretty cleanly, sending the younger fighter skidding back a bit, and then
he gets grabbed...  It's the throw that goes a bit differently than how the
Luchador probably would've liked, as the agile psion gets his legs beneath him
to absorb the bulk of the blow.  "Guh..!"  Yeah, that...  That stung, you know?
Quickly turning about on one foot, Kensou aims a overhand punch at the other
fighter, following it with a quick succession of likewise attacks, each one with
his weight behind it...  The intended finish to the combo is, of course, a
rising axe-handle to the underside of Ramon's jaw, that lifts Kensou himself a
few inches off the ground.  "Yaaa-!"

COMBATSYS: Ramon blocks Kensou's Ryuu Renda.

[   \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  /////////////////////''''''   ]
Ramon            0/-------/------=|==-----\-------\0           Kensou

And it seems that is commiserated by Ramon, who raises his eyebrows.
Nobody's ever defended his Snapmare in that manner, and he does immediately
release to move fluidly backwards. He manages to deftly evade all of the initial
blows, sliding off his arms in a rather iron-clad defense before then raising
his forearms. The final raising blow clacks heavily off, causing a mild grunt.
Yet he is already moving forward, leaping upwards and attempting to grasp Kensou
by the still-risen fist as he descends. It's a truly startling rebound to be
certain. Whether it works or not is the real case in point, now.

COMBATSYS: Ramon successfully hits Kensou with Arm Whip.
- Power hit! -

[    \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  //////////////////'''''''''   ]
Ramon            0/-------/----===|====---\-------\0           Kensou

And then he descends downwards, wrenching Kensou's arm behind his back with
a likely far from comfortable amount of force. And then he twirls around, still
twisting the limb with bone-crushing force before hooking his foot under
Kensou's ankle. And then he hurls downwards while kicking sharply upwards,
causing likely a couple midair spins before the hapless Psycho Warrior
faceplants on the ground. Whee. "Ole!"
Lucky for Kensou, he has a remarkably high tolerance for pain...  Which one
would expect, considering some of the things he's been through.  Still, you
know...  It's not very pleasant, having one's arm grabbed and twisted and used
as a point to twirl him around and toss him face-first into the ground with.
"Keh!" he exclaims as he hits, in sort of a counterpoint to the 'ole', but
Kensou being Kensou, he doesn't stay down long.  "Tch...!"  With both hands or
even one, whatever he can get away from the grappler, the Chinese fighter hurls
himself off the ground, twisting about as he rises to bring both legs to bear
against Ramon.  "Try this on for size!"

COMBATSYS: Ramon dodges Kensou's Ryuu Gakusai.

[    \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  //////////////////''          ]
Ramon            0/-------/----===|=====--\-------\0           Kensou

And it seems that the Lucha Libre does indeed try it on for size. And it
doesn't fit. The proverbial pants of Kensou's attack slip off Ramon's face, as
he leaps upwards. He's scarcely an inch above the pair of legs, rolling into a
ball and then flying in an upper-body tackle towards the likely vulnerable man,
attempting to slam him headfirst into the ground before further rolling past,
fluidly getting to his feet with something of a kip-up. "C'mon, c'mon! You can
do better then this!" Rather then being insulting, it seems to be genuine
encouragement. He's smiling towards the man in that still friendly manner, if
nothing else, one hand risen and beckoning.

COMBATSYS: Ramon successfully hits Kensou with Flying Body Attack.
- Power hit! -

[     \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  //////////////....            ]
Ramon            0/-------/---====|=======\-------\0           Kensou

Okay, this is so...  Not how Kensou had seen things going.  His head met the
pavement and the two of them formed a much closer friendship than the Chinese
fighter ever would've preferred on his own, and then he sort of flopped over to
land on his back.  Owww.  Rolling back onto his hands and thereby tossing
himself to his feet, Kensou wobbles a bit and staggers backwards a step.
"Okay...  From here on out I'm goin' seriously," he says.  He just needs to stop
seeing double first, so pardon him while he watches Ramon quite intently...

COMBATSYS: Kensou focuses on his next action.

[     \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  //////////////....            ]
Ramon            0/-------/---====|=======\-------\0           Kensou

And Ramon gives him those few moments, waiting a few seconds while
stretching carefully. Then again, he's only been grazed once the entire fight.
It's clear who's the winning party, and he appears more then happy to even the
odds. Rolling his shoulders back, he finally drives forward. Running. Running.
..Running. And then, just before it might seem he's going to just try to roll
over Kensou in a body check -- one foot snaps out, attempting to press heavily
against his stomach. If Kensou sidesteps however, it'll likely be a much more
comical result.

COMBATSYS: Ramon successfully hits Kensou with Somersault Kick.

[      \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  ///////...........            ]
Ramon            0/-------/-======|=======\==-----\1           Kensou

...And then he /lances/ his other foot upwards, impacting Kensou in the
face hard enough to likely loosen some teeth. This assault is truly spectacular,
and should be impossible to do. But no, it'd hurt more then some focused
fighters who simply punch. Vaulted high in the air by his own force, Ramon
backflips with the inertia and lands in a crouch, letting out a 'whew'. Now the
crowd's getting into him. He's done some pretty damn impresive stuff.

So much for being serious!  Kicked in the face, Kensou is hurled back, crashing
into the wall of a building to one side of the street that's been cordoned off.
Bricks hurt!  But so do feet to the face.  His hand goes to his mouth, as he
makes sure he didn't lose anything - his teeth being an important part of
/eating solid food/, and all - but the eyes set in his boyish face are quite
intent on Ramon.  "Here goes," he breathes out to himself, running towards Ramon
at full tilt, as a faint breeze from nowhere rustles his clothes, and stirs some
of the various bits of discarded what-have-you on the street.  As he gets even
closer to the Luchador, his goal is quite simply to put his right hand, palm
open, on the other man's chest, his other hand gripping his own bicep.  And
then...

COMBATSYS: Ramon blocks Kensou's Senki Hakkei.

[           \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  ///////..........             ]
Ramon            1/------=/=======|=------\-------\0           Kensou

"...HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-!"  Kensou grits his teeth as he focuses an enormous
amount of Psycho Power through his hand, through the primary impact is against
the Luchador's blocking forearms rather than where it should be.  The explosion
of psionic energy that follows, buffeting the older fighter's body with a number
of secondary strikes, is a little off-focus as a result, sparing Ramon the bulk
of the damage others have faced.  The burst ends as Kensou loses control of the
power and it goes out with a loud BANG, with enough force to shove both fighters
backwards, Kensou's right palm smoking slightly.

    That. Freaking. Hurt.
Ramon is impacted dead in the forearms with that, and is blasted backwards.
He impacts the ground on his back, rolling away in something of a tattered heap
before sliding into a wall with a heavy thunk. His spandex is singed, his
eyepatch askew, and to say he's in bad shape would be an understatement. Letting
out a heavy wince, he gets to his feet unsteadily. "That is more like it."
But he's nowhere near down and out. Still more then fighting form. Bursting
into a crimson sillouette, he then charges full-tilt towards Kensou; Sliding the
last couple meters, right arm wrenched back, and with a startling lack of
flamboyancy he attempts to land a staggering right-hand blow to the Psycho
Warrior's face...

COMBATSYS: Kensou dodges Ramon's El Diablo Amarillo Ramon.

[           \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  ///////..........             ]
Ramon            0/-------/------=|=------\-------\0           Kensou

...And nothing happens. Whiff, that's the best term. There's a startled
look, but the mexican skips backwards and attempts to regain a defensive stance.
Whatever he did, he's definitely more dangerous.

With his right hand still a little out of commission, Kensou actually manages to
duck back and away from Ramon's charging right-hand strike, though he's not
keeping his distance this time.  Even if it might be a good idea!  Instead, the
Psycho Soldier hurls himself /forward/ as Ramon retreats to his defensive
stance, leaving the ground to bring his left elbow and knee to bear at the
Mexican, in a sort of horizontal jump-kick, not far from the ground.  From
there, he twists, bringing his right knee in, and continues twisting to bring
around his left leg in a wide roundhouse at the other fighter.  "Yaa--!"  He's
not out yet!  Not yet!

COMBATSYS: Ramon endures Kensou's Ryuu Renga.

[               \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  ///////......                 ]
Ramon            0/-------/----===|==-----\-------\0           Kensou

    Thunk.
The roundhouse impacts Freeman rather neatly in the face. Yet although he's
sent spinning, it's in a direction towards Kensou. While he's still recovering
from his onslaught, the Lucha Libre is already in the midst of a return attack.
Despite a rather healthy amount of blood now flowing from his left nostril, he
attempts to flit past and grasp Kensou's neck in a rather abrupt assault. What
happens next could easily be the end of the match, unless the opponent's
newfound luck holds out. No more eccentric actions. No more brazen words. He'll
save that for if he hits.

COMBATSYS: Ramon successfully hits Kensou with Tiger Neck Chancery.

[                \\\\\\\\\\\\\\  < >  .............                 ]
Ramon            0/-------/--=====|=====--\-------\0           Kensou

...And then, Kensou goes aerial. Ramon leaps high in the air, spinning a
few times with the hapless man in check. There's a rather vicious strangle
thrown in for good measure, before they descend to the ground with Ramon below.
Yet any illusion of it cushioning the blow is lost, as he unleashes a
spectacular bodyslam in the downwards motion that resounds starkly through the
street. BAM! "Tiger Neck CHANCERY!" is exclaimed in a merry manner. It was
definitely something to watch, for sure.

This is...  Really not good.  Not good at all.  Kensou is bruised and battered
and basically running entirely on willpower, even though his body would really
rather he went and had a bit of a lie down and maybe something to eat.  Getting
shakily to his feet after the Tiger Neck Chancery, his shoulders heave with each
breath, hands resting on his knees.  "Hah...  Damn..."  After everything that's
happened to him in the past, even if he's just having a bad run today...  He
turns quickly around from his position, his left arm moving as though he were
throwing a ball; in this case, it's another sphere of blue-white energy that
leaves his hand, zipping towards Ramon.  "I ain't done just yet!"

COMBATSYS: Kensou successfully hits Ramon with Choukyuu Dan.

[                     \\\\\\\\\  < >  ........                      ]
Ramon            1/-------/=======|=======\-------\0           Kensou

Crack! And just like that, Kensou has managed to neatly turn the tides.
He's impacted dead in the chest by the move, attempting to leap over it but
failing rather neatly. It's apparent how fragile he is to Psycho Power at this
moment, letting out a 'huff' before landing upon his knees. Yet a moment later,
he then flashes towards the other man. Another flash of crimson, arcing back in
a rather spectacular second wind primarily for the purpose of beating Kensou
into the ground. The fist fluidly rolls out, again trying to hit him in the
stomach with every ounce of energy Ramon can muster. "Nnngh!!"

COMBATSYS: Ramon successfully hits Kensou with El Diablo Amarillo Ramon.

mark. Kensou is jackknifed, but only to be struck again. And again. Ramon turns
into a blur of fists, snapping out a few kicks for spice, before sixteen blows
later driving the man back with a right cross. Skipping away, a final
devestating dropkick is thrown at Kensou, trying to knock him through a store
window in a suitable climax to the fight at hand. "Ole!"

The dropkick does in fact send Kensou through a store window, glass shattering
all around as he lands inside.  Yep...  He's pretty much done, hanging onto
consciousness by the skin of his teeth.  "Hah...  D-dammit..."  He climbs out of
the storefront, cut from all the glass he was tossed through, battered and
barely standing, but theres a determined grin on his face.  "Okay, so you're
pretty good," he says, running towards Ramon again, rearing up at the last
second to bring both of his hands down from overhead.  The Tiger Hand Slap...
Well, the Luchador might appreciate the name, at least.

COMBATSYS: Kensou can no longer fight.

COMBATSYS: Ramon dodges Kensou's Kobokushu.

[                      \\\\\\\\  <|
Ramon            0/-------/-------|

Whiff. Ramon merely takes a few heavy steps backwards, and the assault
manages to not strike anything. Although Ramon no longer looks pristine; In a
few hits, the entire fight was almost turned around. But one hand does lance
out, attempting to grasp Kensou by the wrist before he topples over into a heap.
"That was a hell of a match, esse." is commented. "If I had underestimated you a
second, you'd of dropped me like a bad date." His grin remains upon his face,
and if the other man does indeed get upright another handshake will be offered.
At least that was a much better show of his talents then Whip's little
debauchery of cheap tactics, for sure...

COMBATSYS: Ramon has ended the fight here.

Toppling is about what Kensou had in mind, but as it is he only gets most of the
way to his knees before Ramon grabs his wrist.  "Yeah, good match," the Psycho
Soldier agrees a bit tiredly, though he does manage to get his feet beneath him
again.  Yes, dignity!  At least a little!  So there's another sportsmanlike
handshake, and Sie looks a little sheepish.  "Just watch out, sooner or later
we'll have a rematch."  But that's in the future.  The present is only a
distinct need to get something to eat!

"I won't be this lucky a second time. If you refine your technique a bit,
you'll ring a few bells." It's obvious that Ramon's likely far more in that area
then Kensou himself, letting out a simple huff of air before stretching his arms
overhead. The front of his costume is brushed upon casually, before he thrusts
his fists to the crowd in order to pump them up. It works rather well; That
definitely was a hell of a finale, even if it wasn't as pleasing as a classic
Tiger Spin. But once more he's clearly victorious, finally managing to make some
waves are more then just the best at Lucha Libre. "And I look forward to it." A
final thumb's up is thrown at Kensou, before Ramon begins a rather pained walk
towards the street's edge. Ouch. Next time, he'll have to make sure to not get
hit at /all/, instead of just twice.

It's still nice, to fight somebody who doesn't take it all /personally/.
Watching Ramon go with a bit of a bemused look, Kensou turns the other way, one
hand over his stomach which lets out a nice little growl.  Yes, despite all of
the getting tossed around and kicked and the incident with the glass window, his
primary concern right now is his appetite!  Though there are those who would
understand why.  "Haa~, that could've gone worse," he muses to himself, as he
brushes off medical attention.  He needs meatbuns, stat.
