Description: Yashiro's first foray into a SNF. Many fans are thrown. (Winner: Yashiro)
Although Gedo Street usually doesn't see a great deal of traffic, the fight scheduled here for tonight has managed to bring out a few brave souls who don't have seats for the main event at Howard Arena. An area in the center of the street is roped off, and surrounded by spectators and folks with cameras.
Yashiro wouldn't have much of a problem with this part of town even during normal times, although he hasn't really had a reason to ever stop by. He takes a few moments on his way in to admire some of the murals, but doesn't pause for too long; the fight is waiting, after all. He strolls up to the impromptu arena with his hands in his pockets, lifting one out briefly to wave at some of the fans. Being moderately famous outside of the fighting circuit doesn't hurt, when it comes to having people cheer for you. And even for those people who don't recognize him, his sheer size is enough to make sure they get out of his way as he heads toward the ropes. Hopping into the fighting area, he cracks his knuckles a few times, then rolls his shoulders to work out any kinks while he waits for his opponent.
He doesn't have to wait long! Out of the modestly sized crowd comes none other than Mai Shiranui, sporting the Hi!-I'm-Almost-Naked! outfit that helped make her famous. She leaps over the ropes and into the ring, producing a fan from behind her back which she then sets to fanning herself with. "Oh! Almost didn't make it. I should think about wearing sneakers. Alright, do your stuff, big guy!"
But Mai isn't so generous - she's letting Yashiro have the first move so she can sit back and observe how he moves for just a little bit.

Yashiro grins a bit as Mai hops into the ring, apparently appreciating her choice in clothing. "Sure you're in the right place babe? Well, don't hold it against me if you get hurt..." The Orochi fighter brings his hands up in front of him, then begins hopping back and forth from one foot to the other. "Here goes!" He takes his first step forward, then suddenly becomes a blur as he speeds toward Mai, stopping right in front of her before lashing out with his fist, swinging upwards with a blow to the stomach.

Mai hides the lower half of her face with her fan, giggling, "I'll ask the same of you!" Oh - he's blurring. That's not a good sign. The kunoichi stays rooted in place until the last second, and leaps /into/ the air. Not only does she pass right over Yashiro's fist, but she also gracefully inverts herself, trying to land a handstand on the large man's shoulders.

Perfect landing! Mai stays there for but a fraction of a second, because almost immediately she falls over behind Yashiro, landing lightly on the ground and using her momentum to /flip/ the Orochi fighter right over /her/ head to land somewhere far away!
Yashiro blinks as Mai perches herself in a handstand atop his shoulders. "Hey, what the-" He doesn't get a chance to finish that sentence however, as he suddenly finds himself getting flung through the air, crashing down to the street on his back. It doesn't appear to have fazed him much, however, as he quickly gets back up with a grin on his face. "Quick, aren't you? Better hope you've got more than that, though..." He then charges toward the kunoichi, quickly covering the distance she'd gained by throwing him. As soon as he gets close he lashes out with a quick series of three body blows, followed by an uppercut that's intended to lift Mai right off her feet.

"Yah! Hyah! Haaaa!"
With each cry, Mai strikes a different pose, one that barely takes her out of the path of Yashiro's strikes! With the uppercut threatening, the kunoichi nimbly leaps backwards, and then leaps /forwards/ as soon as she's clear! With a cry of "Ryuuuu Enbu!", the so-called bouncy ninja takes a short hop into the air, spinning around quickly - the 'tails' of her outfit swing in a deadly arc, and then ignite, causing an explosion of chi that is so adept at mimicking flame, it might have just been something Kyo Kusanagi would have done!

Yashiro grunts as the flames wash over his form, and emerges from the explosion looking scorched, and a little bit irritated, though it hasn't broken the grin he's been sporting. "Well, well... Not bad, babe." Hey, Shermie's not around, so he doesn't need to worry about saying things like that. At least this time Mai's landing spot isn't that far away from Yashiro, so he doesn't have to run to catch her. He takes a step forward, lashing out with his left fist in a blow which arcs upward, intending to knock Mai slightly into the air, and then he immediately jumps up himself as he follows it with a powerful uppercut, with which he attempts to send the ninja flying.

The prime purpose (knock Mai away) doesn't quite go off as it should.
Mai curtsies at Yashiro's compliment, but is still aware of the fight. When he lashes out, she's /not/ quite able to duck out of the way. In a splitsecond decision, she chooses to stick around.
The first blow catches her in the stomach, launching her into the air and getting a small grunt of pain. The following uppercut isn't so lucky - Mai /grabs onto/ Yashiro's wrist, lessening the impact, and providing her a nice solid surface to push off of! With a mighty effort, the kunoichi shoves off of the Orochi fighter's arm, flipping gracefully through the air and landing some ten feet away.
The problem is, during her flight, Mai had the initiative to throw several razor sharp fans!

As the fans come in Yashiro sweeps out his arm, knocking them aside. He takes a number of cuts, but he seems for the moment more considered about the way the sleeve of his jacket got sliced up. "Man, now I'm going to have to get that sewn up..." He doesn't really seem all that upset however, and still seems to be in a good mood as he turns back to Mai. "Where do you keep those things, anyway?" It doesn't appear that he's going to wait for an answer, however, as he charges at the kunoichi again, lunging with one hand for her neck. If he manages to grab hold he drags her up into the air, then spins around to slam her down against the pavement.

Grk! Mai doesn't even have a chance to respond! From the moment that Yashiro's hand closes around her throat, she knows this is going to be bad. The kunoichi is tossed around like laundry in a washingmachine, eventually smacking into the pavement with a dull /whump/.
Oh, wait, she's still alive. Mai rolls to her feet, rubbing her jaw, and then proclaims proudly, "The same place I hide these!"
And, from behind her back, she pulls two /huge/ folded fans - they're easily as long as baseball bats! With a cry of "Miiizuudori no Mai!", the kunoichi /throws/ them at Yashiro. The titanic fans burst into flame as they go, curving outwards to attack him from both sides. But wait! A third fan comes flying up the middle, just for good measure!

Quickly hunching forward, Yashiro moves himself into a position where the two fans arcing in from the side slam into his shoulders, and then he immediately spins to let the third fan slam into his right shoulder. It certain stings, but it's better than letting them hit him head on. Turning back to Mai he knocks the last fan away as it falls to the ground. "Well, aren't you just full of surprises?" He takes a few steps toward her, then suddenly hops forward, turning to the side and leaning slightly backwards as he lashes out with a kick straight for Mai's stomach. "Got anything else to show me?"

"Oof!" the air rushes out of Mai as she stumbles back, doubled over. The kunoichi grits her teeth and gets back into the fight, skipping to the side to watch Yashiro more closely. With a sudden rush of speed, she dashes forwards, leaps into the air, and tries a variation of the Shiranui Gourin - which means the first task is to land on his shoulders!

Landing on the big man's shoulders, Mai performs a small miracle, twisting her body in such a way that Yashiro may find himself unbalanced! A swift punch to the face might just topple him in fact! The deed done, the kunoichi leaps away.
Yashiro does find himself a bit off balance as Mai twists around on top of him, but he's still able to bring up one of his arms to deflect the punch away from his face, and get his bearings back by the time Mai gets back to the ground. He chuckles a bit, reaching out to brush off his sleeve for a moment. "Well, that was a fun warm up... But it's time to get serious." He begins hopping from one foot to the other again for a moment, then rushes toward Mai. He doesn't blur this time, but he's fast just the same. When he reaches the kunoichi though, he launches into a lightning fast series of heavy body blows. In the space of a few seconds he throws out a good twenty punches, then follows it up with a punch to the jaw, then another blow to the body, this one arcing up in an attempt to lift Mai off her feet, and he then immediately leaps in to follow it with a nasty uppercut. If all this hits, it should launch Mai a good ten feet into the air.

The next few seconds are a fight. A fight within a fight, if you will. Namely, it's a fight for Mai to hold her ground. She barrels through the punches, trying to stop from getting pushed back, throwing her shoulder into the stream of attacks in a desperate effort to deflect some of the blows. It's clear that skillwise, Yashiro is the better of the two fighters - but luck and determination may just save the day for the battered and beaten ninja.
Mai was so adamant on staying there because of one thing: she wanted this to be point blank. What is 'this'? Well, it's a large amount of huge fans that Yashiro should be familiar with. The kunoichi somehow summons up the energy to turn the last bone-shaking punch into a quasi-beneficial thing - she alters her path in the air so that she's not buffeted around, but so she's relatively still, facing down.
And then the rain of fiery fans begin.

Yashiro brings up his arms again, letting the rain of fains slam into them rather than getting clean blows to his body. And now both of his sleeves are pretty much ruined; full of slashes and with a number of scorch marks. He gives a brief sigh as he looks them over, then shrugs. "Oh well... Hey, you ever run out of these things?" He holds up one of the fans that he managed to catch as it fell off of him, then tosses it over his shoulder. He takes a few quick steps toward Mai, then suddenly leaps up into the air, coming down toward her with his right arm raised over his head. As he comes down he tries to slam his fist and his entire forearm down onto Mai, to drive her down into the ground.

Mai lands a bit heavily, lacking enough energy to be light on her toes. But she's still wary! Not speaking, the kunoichi watches Yashiro rush in for the attack, and somehow manages to sidestep and duck out of the way. Pressing her advantage, the kunoichi dances backwards.
"Well, let's see!"
More fans! Reaching behind her back, Mai withdraws a single fan and casually flicks it towards Yashiro - the kicker is, in flight, it somehow splits into three!

It's a good thing Yashiro's arms are pretty tough, or they'd be taking more than just a few cuts in this match. Still, they're starting to add up, and it certainly stings as even more fans slice into his limbs as he brings them up to protect his body. Outwardly he just brushes it off, however. "Maybe I should just hold you upside down and shake you until they all fall out." Yashiro smirks as he advances on Mai. He doesn't actually follow through with that idea however, instead lashing out with a quick right hook to the ribs.

With a flourish, Mai spins just out of reach, grinning like the Cheshire cat. The kunoichi puts some more distance between the two, and then unfolds the one fan she keeps in her belt. She puts her free hand behind it, biting her lip as if deep in concentration, maybe digging around for something.
"Aha!"
She whips out another fan and flings it at her foe! "I knew I had more!" Maybe she's on the verge of losing this fight, but now she has a new objective - to see just how many fans Yashiro can take before going insane.

Of course, Mai wouldn't like Yashiro when he's *really* insane, but that luckily won't be an issue in this fight. Still, the fans are getting pretty annoying, and there's a nice pile of them scattered around the ring now. A few more after Yashiro knocks aside the next volley of them, although one actually manages to sink into his arm and stick there. The Orochi fighter grunts, then yanks the fan out and tosses it aside. He clenches and unclenches his fist for a moment, taking a deep breath. "Okay, I'm getting tired of this. Just hold still for a sec and I'll make this quick for you." He dashes towards Mai, attempting to drive his fist into her stomach, lifting her up as he continues into another attempt at a ninja-launching uppercut.

Ah! Now that it was a game, Mai could feel some of the energy coming back! The kunoichi leaps backwards, finds herself on the edge of the arena. Not to worry! She leaps onto the ropes and uses them as a launching point to bound /over/ Yashiro. Mai skips to the other side of the arena, where she pretends to file her nails.
And then, casually, she kicks one of the large discarded fans /just/ the right way to send it whistling towards Yashiro with deadly speed.
"Maybe I ran out!"

This time Yashiro's arm lashes out so fast that when his fist impacts with the fan he actually puts a sizeable dent in the metal, although it still manages to land a cut on the back of his wrist. He then cracks his knuckles as he advances on Mai. "Right, that's about enough of that." He steps on one of the fans as he approaches, bending the frame of it under his foot. And then a few steps later he's on Mai, pummeling her with another series of body blows. Not quite as many this time, although they still come hard and fast, and he follows it up with a standing uppercut, trying to make Mai's head snap back as she gets knocked off her feet.

Mai EXPLODES OH NO. Oh man, Yashiro punched her so hard she turned into a cloud of smoke!
...wait.
The kunoichi yawns loudly, showing that she is, indeed, standing at the opposite end of the arena. Several onlookers seem puzzled by this, wondering just how this managed to happen. But no time for speculation!
Mai picks a hefty rock off the ground, turns it over in her hands to get a feeling for the weight, and then chucks it at Yashiro, "I don't have any more fans, but there's still plenty more I can throw!"

The rock bounces off of Yashiro's chest, and he darts his hand out to grab it as it falls. "Right... Well, you're not the only one who can play things this way, babe..." He tosses the rock up and down for a moment, before wrapping his hand around it. He draws back his arm for a moment, then steps forward, hurling the rock like a baseball in Mai's direction.

CLUNK. Mai's head jerks back as the rock glances off her forehead. She sputters in surprise, holding a hand to the gash on her head. "What?!"
Dazedly, she glares at Yashiro, and then leaps onto the pole behind her. With another nimble jump, the Kunoichi sends herself barreling at the large man with two fans held out for the strike!
Whether or not she hits, Mai rebounds, landing roughly on her feet where she wobbles dangerous for a few moments, "...ungh, I think I have a concussion..." and then she promptly tips over, unconscious.

Yashiro turns to let Mai slam the fans into his shoulder, since his arms have already taken enough punishment for one fight. He then turns back to her just in time to watch the kunoichi stagger briefly and then collapse to the ground. He blinks, caught a bit by surprise. Once it becomes obvious that Mai isn't getting up however, he pumps a fist into the air, grinning as he basks in the cheers and applause of the audience. He lets them cheer him for a bit, until he sees that the medical team is starting to arrive. Wouldn't look good to let them treat his wounds, and they're not too serious anyway, so he takes this opportunity to make his exit, waving to the fans. Meanwhile, he's wondering to himself if Shermie's going to be able to fix up his jacket for him.
