Neo League 0165 - NL#0170: Jae Hoon Vs Mitsuru

[Toggle Names]

Description: On the rooftop of Taiyo High, Jae Hoon faces off against the fierce fighter, Mitsuru! Tension flies, and so to the kicks. Who will reign victorious?

[MITSURU]
"He's the son of a champion, Mitsuru."

The lean, black-haired girl sits on her corner of the Taiyo High rooftop. She was dressed in the navy blue to black Seijyun High uniform, a clean private school uniform, with the skirt well below the knee. It was an old uniform. Mitsuru would only fight in an older uniform. At her corner was the Seijyun High Fight Club; five other girls. A small one, a chubby one, a tall one, and a rather plain one. And of course, the girl in the glasses, rubbing Mitsuru's shoulders as she whispers to her. "Jae Hoon. Son of Korean Tae Kwon Do master Kim Kaphwan." Mitsuru stares ahead, breathing hard as Kaicho rubs those shoulders. "He's the worse one of the two sons, so you don't have to be so tense-"

"I'm not tense."

Mitsuru stands up, ripping free from Kaicho's grip. Fists leveled out, there were other people on the rooftop. It was a Neo-League match; all the Neo-League matches were in Southtown now. She didn't get to do the last one, and the ones before that... she hated it. It was stolen from her, like the Rising STar tournament. People kept stealing wins from her. And now, she was going to fight some Jae Hoon Korean TWD dweeb? She was angry, she was making herself angry to fight. But Kaicho... Kaicho was helping her, right? She didn't like Kaicho helping her so much. Her mind was flashing around, as the audience begins to chatter on the rooftop of the high school. SHe just needed to focus.

She just needed to win.

[JAE HOON]
Hey! Who are you calling the worst, Kaicho?

Jae Hoon is a very good kid, thank you very much!

Just because he has shown up to this fight with pretty well no one in his corner doesn't mean people don't like him. Rock just isn't available to support him, is all!

Anyway, on this bright, sunny day, he's here, and he's quite surprised by the change in scenery. In his previous League fight, he and his opponent faced off in a small boxing ring of sorts inside a rather large gym with rows upon rows of seats. Most of which weren't filled, but that's besides the point. The last place he expected to be at for his next match definitely was not Taiyo High's rooftop, but, well... here they are.

The Korean teen is standing opposite of where Mitsuru and her crew are, performing various stretches and run-on-the-spot jogs to warm up his muscles. As per usual, he is adorned with his gi, crested with his father's symbol across his back. With no one here to cheer him on physically, he murmurs encouragement and the like to himself, all while brimming a smile for the cameras that circle the space. Everyone that wanted to be here today is here in his spirit, and that is enough to give him the self-assurance he needs in order to fight well today.

It doesn't even matter if he wins, although the competitive streak in him says otherwise. All he truly cares about is a good and respectable fight, though.

Jae centers himself, a seriousness overtaking the once-jovial dispositionl, as he turns to face his adversary. Standing to his full height, the lithe form steps up to the middle where he awaits Mitsuru and, upon her arrival, bows deeply and respectfully to her. "It is an honour to stand before you today in a test of skill." He rises. A referee sidles up between them, hand at the ready to begin their fight.

"May our match be fruitful, Tokugawa Mitsuru," says Jae Hoon as he sinks into a defensive stance, with arms raised to eye-level.

He is focused. Ready.

[MITSURU]
Mitsuru's lips quiver as she purses them furiously.

All while Jae Hoon gives an honorable introduction, the brawling girl paws her foot like a bull in a pen. Body building in disgust, as he brings his arms up, the focus snaps. Practically spitting fire, she growls at Jae Hoon. "Yare yare daze, you're some kind of boy scout, huh?" Mitsuru pipes up at the young man. "Our match be -fruitful?- You'll have HONOURS standing before me? Please, you aren't even fit to clean my shoes! Do you even know what a Tokugawa is?" At the last question, Mitsuru's tone briefly changes, taking on airs and arrogance well above the status of her thuggish intro. And those airs quickly fall away as she clears her throat. "Well I know who you are!" She barks back.

"You're one of Kim Kaphwan's sons!"

Mitsuru didn't know too much about Kim Kaphwan, except what the smiling Kaicho told her, but she felt like it was meaningful to throw it back at him. The judges call for the start of the fight, but Mitsuru doesn't stop her heckling. "Yeah! You're the worse one. I mean worsts one. I mean- the one that's bad at fighting!" She adds. "So what, you think your daddy would be proud of you fighting? I bet he isn't even here to watch you fight!" Mitsuru glances around to make sure there weren't any older looking Koreans in the audience. "Yeah! What, are you some kind of loser who wants to impress her daddy so he would watch you and see how awesome you are so he will proud of you?" Mitsuru sneers a moment at Jae Hoon, before she suddenly makes a verbal backspace.

"His daddy! Your daddy."

[JAE HOON]
Hm.

Well. Jae really has no idea where these people seem to have heard that he is the worst fighter out of the Kim wards, so that is mildly irritating.

Any friendliness the Korean teen might have reserved for his opponent is gone like a gentle of wind, thanks to Mitsuru's barraging of insults. This match will require much more tactics and seriousness if he is to prove himself to her and her assortment of friends.

Having grown up with someone like Dong Hwan for an older brother, who often liked to heckle him over the simplest things, the youngest Kim has learned not to take offense to much. If anything, most of these comments go rolling off his back (save for the one regarding him being a terrible fighter, like I said earlier), because it's not like he needs other people's verbal assurances or their actual presence at a match to feel self-confident in his skillset. There is a reason he rose to the top of his father's dojang, even surpassing his elder brother in rank.

However, just because he is used to his brother's harassment does not mean he will just take any of this laying down. No. He will very well show her what it means to challenge a son of Kim Kaphwan.

"I see that you have a sharp tongue," he comments, and though the judges call for the fight to begin, he actually stays put. Looking her over once, twice, before he begins his descent onto her.

Quick in his approach, with a couple skips in his stepping, Jae raises his leg and aims an imbued high kick right at her head, hoping to knock the words right out of her mouth. That is, if it hits.

[MITSURU]
And when Jae comes at her, she too falls into her fighting stance properly.

Her technique is... well, a bit embarassing. Mitsuru's guard is wide open, a very open stance that is kind of half-hearting a boxer's peekaboo? As Jae unleashes the high kick, the best she can muster is a rough block with her arm, electing a squeak from the tall girl who actually manages to match Jae Hoon's height. Her face contorts in pain for a moment, before she snaps at him.

"Well I can see you have a dull head!"

Forced in a clinch, she erupts a fist at Jae. It doesn't follow through; another sloppy technique? No, silvery energy floods over her limb as the punch comes out with a blast of energy. It's unstable, and not all that impressive, but the blast comes with enough power to try and bowl Jae Hoon backwards, to force some space between them.

"That's the real Tokugawa might!"

[JAE HOON]
Wow, Mitsuru! Another insult! What a nice lady we are fighting here today.

With his kick effectively blocked, the lithe fighter is quick to lower his leg back down to the floor, even quicker to fall into another defensive stance. Fists up in front of his face, he pads back on the balls of his feet, but Mitsuru is moving. The speed of her movement isn't unseen by his keen eyes, therefore he is able to respond in kind. An unrefined silver energy shoots out toward him, and quite easily, by way of a spinning back kick, his heel deflects the projectile from landing its mark, sending it off into the ground nearby. The cement cracks from the impact, which certainly informs the Korean of just how much power that blast had. A lucky thing he didn't have the misfortune of being hit by it.

Attentions focused solely on his adversary once again. No words come from him. Nothing of praise, admiration, or goading. It is clear he is rather intent on ensuring the utmost focus on his ability to beat her, since he is now experiencing this surge of competitive energy rising into his chest. Handsome features are set with a fierce determination while he contemplates his next attack.

Once decided, Jae Hoon encloses on Mitsuru. This time, his leg is poised for a kick that would send her upwards into the air. Should it land? The side of his foot, all the way up to his knee, would ignite in a flaming chi that would crest upon her chest and send her a short distance from him.

[MITSURU]
I mean, even Dong is fun in his insults.

Every time Mitsuru spits out an insult, it's boiling with contempt and jealousy. A mean spirit rots off her, hissing and steaming as the energy staggers Jae back. As the blast is deflected off the roof to the concrete below, Mitsuru just snarls about it instead of considering the gravity of the attack. "You dork!" She complains, as she unsteadily eases back to her awkward defensive stance.

Just in time for Jae Hoon to kick in.

As he forces into close quarters, Mitsuru stumbles backwards. She wasn't showing the skilled style of a properly trained fighter; Jae Hoon probably had seen this kind of finesse from the novices at his family dojo. And yet, when he goes for the launching kick, Mitsuru was meeting it with a slam of her arm. Smashing her arm against his kick, she is staggered up a bit for the wave of energy. Ripping across to her flat chest, she screams as she smashes her other arm across it, disappating it with a flash of silver. Landing back on her heels, she stumbles. Staggered.

But not floored.

"YOU DORK! You think you're BETTER THAN ME!?" She reemphasizes, lurching after Jae Hoon. This time she hurls out her own kick. It's a clumsy roundhouse, poorly balanced. "I bet you haven't even kissed a girl! What kind of loser hasn't done that!" The second roundhouse comes, and it's almost a real attack. The shift is when she stops it hard right after the apex of the kick, in order to bring the same leg back down into a heel drop in an attempt to ground Jae Hoon on the roof. And should she get him to the ground?

SHe would begin to start stomping on him furiously.

[JAE HOON]
Yeah, Jae Hoon senses it a little, this discontentment that comes from Mitsuru. Honestly, he gets the feeling these insults are actually intended to be hurtful, for whatever reason or purpose that alludes him. It isn't his business, though.

Especially when the name-calling is something as simple and lame as /you dork./

Sigh.

In all honesty, from what Jae observes, she appears to be sort of all over the place with regards to her style. Definitely not finessed with a fine hand of professionally trained fighter. Vaguely, he wonders if this approach is meant to disarm her opponents, to underestimate her so that she may sneak in with low-key powerful attacks that would blast them away, or if she simply just had rotten luck in finding someone to help train her. His father had mentioned some fighters to be more like the former in order to assure their victory, and so Jae has always intended to keep a close eye out for these types. If that is Mitsuru's plan, he will be wary.

For now, he keeps the distance close, putting on the pressure, but even still she manages to stop his assault with another block. Impressive.

Reclaiming his balance once more, the young ward prepares for the next onslaught. One roundhouse is deflected. The second comes in, and at the last possible second it is shifting into a heel drop kick. Since they are around the same height - if not exactly so - Jae is able to bring his hands up over his head, palms up, to catch it. The driving force of this kick does sting at his wrists a little, unexpectedly, but he endures it long enough to swivel his torso out from under the pathway and away from her.

"I'm uncertain as to why you think you need to insult my intelligence or my life experience," he tells her while he side-steps around her a little, creating a moment for conversation. "Are you threatened by me?"

And then, he is in her space again. A crescent-shaped kick swings around to attempt an uppercut kick that will send Mitsuru into the air. If it is successful, it will be followed up with him soaring up after her, bringing another fiery kick down on her crown to drive her into the ground, and him into the splits next to her.

[MITSURU]
He was going into her space again, in more ways than one.

It was one thing that he neatly took apart her offenses, but that sharp, precise rebuttal throws her off guard. She tries to flail her arms at the rising kick, trying to deflect. But it comes too fast. Hitting her on the still scarred chest underneath her blouse, she gasps as she is sent int othe air. In a moment, she catches a drop kick on her head, as the words rattle in there. Are you threatened. She lands facedown, face hitting the rooftop sandpaper. It hurts, as he goes into the splits.

She doesn't linger on that pain, though.

Bruised, battered, and scattered, she rolls back up into a stand, chest pounding as sweat pours over her brow. Pouting furiously, she steadies her feet out as she widens her stance, lips turned up in disgust. She fans her hand in front of her mouth. "Me? Threatened my YOU!? MO ho ho ho!" She laughs as best as she could in a tough thug manner, hiding the ojou cackle as much as she could. "I don't -need- to insult your intelligence or your lack of life experiences! It is just so OBVIOUS to me because you are so bad and dumb and your daddy isn't here and you should feel awful!" She clenches her fanned hand into a fist, as she begins to surge with silvery energy and.... and an aura of nothingness.

She doesn't quite notice it, though.

Consumed by her own insistence on NOT being threatened, she continues to explain how strongly not threatened she is. "I mean, I can imagine how awful and sad you must be that your own father isn't here to support you! Or your mother! Or any of your family! That you are stuck having to prove yourself all by yourself! I bet your father won't even let you see him until you win a fight or something! Until you really prove yourself. I bet you feel so disgusted about how unfair it is! I bet he's off with some sexy Darkstalker lady who seduces him and stuff and then your mother cries because your DAD is a BIG DUMB CHEATER who TREATS YOU LIKE DIRT!" MItsuru flashes up with the waves of nothingness around her, the silver energy utterly gone, as her eyes turn white.

Ready to unleash her full anger into Jae Hoon.

COMBATSYS: Mitsuru gathers her will.

[JAE HOON]
Jae isn't about to go admitting the reason why he is here alone, for it would only be fuel to the fire Mitsuru seems to intent on stoking. A move to Southtown is big for someone like him, especially since it is so far removed from his family and their dojo. However, with his father being so busy conducting reform on criminals, his brother procrastinating on every possible bit of training he could do, and his mother upholding her own job, none of them could be fit for travel.

But, like it has been mentioned before: he doesn't need their physical presence to know their support.

What does bother him is this sense of continual degrading and insulting on his father's integrity. It is everything to a Kim to uphold the honour of their family name. While he may not say so aloud, he will NOT permit this blatant besmirching!

"If you think that shouting this nonsense makes you a more proficient and threatening fighter, you are sadly mistaken!" Centering his chi, he breathes in deep, renewed with energy once more, as he regains his focus. Another long breath... and then earthly-coloured irises hone in on Mitsuru. Ferocity and determination grace his handsome features as he steels himself for another attack. Then, he is advancing forth.

Instead of getting right close in proximity to her as he usually does, he maintains some distance to direct a side kick right for her midsection and hopefully blow some of that steam out of her sails.

[MITSURU]
"NONSENSE!?"

Mitsuru flares with rage as Jae Hoon dismisses her anger so easily. It would be almost like if all those things Mitsuru were saying applied to her. Which would be absurd, of course. Why would any of those cheap insults apply to her? As he moves in, Mitsuru's rage seems to press her forward. As he unleashes the kick to her midsection? She -throws- herself into it, not even bothering to mitigate it as she surges at Jae Hoon, eyes burning with that white light.

And the nothingness begins to boil off her.

It's hard to describe the nothingness. It's an emptiness of energy, a void. You could obviously see the wave of energy pouring off her. But it could only be described as waves of nothingness. "A DADDY'S LOVE ISN'T NONSENSE, IT'S THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN THE WORLD!" She shrieks as she outright flails as an attack, her body burning in pain. It was not a comfortable thing to see.

THe nothingness, I mean.

Mitsuru would be hurling out a frenzied right cross at Jae Hoon's collar, the nothingness blazing off her limb. Should it connect? SHe would pivot, swinging her opposite arm to his side. There, she would lift and hurl him straight down to the ground for a finishing stomp, an explosion of nothingness blazing around her.

Before shifting back into a silver light at the end.

[JAE HOON]
Oh, whoops. Did Jae hit a sensitive spot there?

He doesn't know it until she is shouting, but apparently his deflection of her insults is cause for a very sudden explosion of translucent energy. It radiates from her, colliding with his own energy field in a way that makes him feel just slightly uncomfortable. Also, it serves of enough of a distraction to let him be captured by this estranged energy as Mitsuru aims an attack over his collarbone. Ow. Her display of an attack is kind of unsightly, and it is sufficient in grabbing hold of his rather lean form and hurling him earthbound. This would be an even bigger ow if he hadn't managed to lift his hands over his crown to brace himself for impact.

Both their weights do not feel good on his forearms, as they are the weaker components of his body in comparison to his legs, but he endures the two of them coming down. The stomps do nothing to deter him, if only to cause light bruising where they land, as he pounces back up onto his feet and swivels around to face his adversary once more.

Jae Hoon doesn't stay there for long. Doesn't contemplate what it means to receive a father's endearing love. He is fortunate to have such a thing, knowing it is the foundation of the strength that he boasts now, but it is not something to focus on in the middle of a fight. Once properly on his feet, he advances to Mitsuru with his front leg raised, knee tucked into his torso. It holds there, suspended, until the last possible second when he flies it out into a thrusting kick that aims itself right for her sternum.

[MITSURU]
It was

It was a bit sensitive.

Those who received a wealth of something, who never felt want for it, wouldn't understand those who would feel want. Jae Hoon had a rich life filled with love and support. And Mitsuru. Mitsuru hated Jae Hoon's privileged life more than anything else right now. She could just feel how he was mocking her. How he was teasing her. Taunting her. It was all in her head, yes. BUt as she slams him down, she just keeps screaming at him. "YOU AWFUL BOY! YOU AWFUL AWFUL BOY!" She adds, as he rises up to meet her. As he turns, she gets ready to knock away the kick that... was delayed. She swings preemptively, as the kick connects hard in her flat chest. It hurt, it hurt so bad even with the awkward flailing. But she was beginning to wind up. And when she lunges back?

She begins to punch.

Punching over and over again, even as she breaths with a broken rib, she unleashes a rapid chain of punches at Jae Hoon furiously. Faster and faster, as waves of silver energy floods over her. Her punches become slashes of energy, as the tempo accelerates faster and faster, all while she repeats over and over with the rhythm. "AWFUL! AWFUL! AWFUL!" The attack finally finishes as she winds back, and unleashes a well executed haymaker, a excellent boxer's punch with trained form, breaking the tempo with a blast of silver force all around her.

All as she gasps for air.

[JAE HOON]
Whatever rage-induced fuel this girl is filled up with, the energy from it is completely palpable. The wealth of disdain she seems to be having for whatever reason is beyond Jae Hoon's understanding as it flows from her, emanating widely, because she doesn't even take a moment to pause in between getting hit and launching into another round.

The flurry of punches enclose on him, and luckily, he is able to maneuver himself so that his forearms take the forceful brunt of the attacks. Some of the contact splices open cuts along exposed arms, smearing blood across his skin, but for the most part, that is the extent of the damage her onslaught leaves on him. However, that final blow does stagger him back some, creating a little bit of distance between them and serving to throw him slightly off balance.

Hm. Somehow, he gets the feeling that also had been intended to mess him up really good.

Mitsuru must feel strongly about her disdain for him. Why? He doesn't know.

Well, it probably won't serve him well to respond with another attack, but... they ARE in the League, so it must be done.

"I'm not as awful as you seem to think!" he tells her as he kicks off again, clods of dirt flying up in his wake. With the ball of his right foot does he send in another kick meant to take Mitsuru to the air again. If it lands, he will imbue that very same leg with another radiating flame whilst he leaps up and brings it around into a backwards roundhouse that will probably singe some of her hair as it collides with the side of her face.

[MITSURU]
Really, it isn't even personal.

As much as Mitsuru would loath to admit, it was a kind of frenzy that Kaicho was grooming. The girl in the glasses watches with the faintest smirk, adjusting her glasses as her Mitsuru pounces and tears into Jae Hoon like an attack dog. As the blur of fists come, however, Jae Hoon manages to only get knocked back, having turtled up against the assault well enough. Silver energy lingers on Mitsuru was she recoils, the man bounding back and coming back at Mitsuru. She attempts to flail a limb at the kick, and succeeds slightly. It's not enough to stop her from getting knocked up, but her singular focus was now making her shrug off even the nastiest attacks. As the aerial roundhouse comes down to her face, she actually leans into it. Charging her cheek into it to bear the brunt. Face swelling up hideous, she crashing into the rooftop.

She rises up much faster than before.

"MYES YOU ARE!" She muffles out, face swollen as tears build in her angry brown eyes. Mitsuru was practically throwing a tantrum now, her violent rage coming out somewhere far from mature. Stamping towards Jae Hoon, she was singularly focused as silver energy flows behind her, a rabid frenzy bowling as she hurtles in with a staggering body blow with a wild right. And then, almost like she's possessed by a ghost, she steadies out for a swift, even straight with the left, followed by a second straight with the right. Boxing techniques again.

Almost like she was half trained.

[JAE HOON]
It seems this fight has dissolved into a man dealing with a wild rabid animal.

Mitsuru is flopping her body about in a rather uncontrolled manner, and Jae really has to take care that he doesn't get hit on accident by one of her limbs going AWOL. It is on a lucky stroke with her imbued and flailing form that she manages to land an unceremoniously weighted blow on his arms, which had pulled in to his torso to try and brace himself while he backtracks away from her. The impact grazes some of those earlier received cuts, causing a few of them to split further open and gush fresh blots of blood out.

Inhaling because the slight sting does hurt, the Korean moves fast, otherwise he will lose his opportunity to intercept her while she switches arms. Though, as he does so, he notes the slight finesse to her punches, indicating that she has had some level of training.

Perhaps from one of the goonies off to the side.

Who knows?

Can't focus on that right now.

Using his shoulder, Jae Hoon tries to nudge Mitsuru away so that he may begin his proper assault. Following this attempt, he brings his leg up, draws it in tight, then bursts out in a successive round of kick after kick after kick. One, two, three, four! All of these kicks are hitting her midsection and chest, flying with incredible speed that will eventually knock her some distance from him.

Once completed, he roots himself to his spot, bloodied arms raising defensively again. Seriousness floods his handsome features as he gazes upon his opponent, taking stock of the damage he has done, as well as keeping a keen eye on her movement should she try to come for him once more.

[MITSURU]
"NO!"

That's the shriek from Mitsuru as right before she can complete her wild, unbalanced assault, it's broken. With a shoulder check, she suddenly takes one, two, three, four rising kicks, knocking her her backwards with a burst of power. Screaming as she comes hurling back, she lands horribly, the whole of the Seijyun Fight Club wincing. Everyone except Kaicho. She grabs the hem of her skirt with both hands, and twists, softly smirking as she watches the handsome Jae Hoon absolutely obliterate the barbaric Mitsuru so cleanly.

Well, as clean as blood can be.

Mitsuru struggles back up again, much slower then the last time. She was a bit dazed, and her body ached so terribly. The broken rib was crawling up on her, and her chest burned. Rising up to a stand, she scowls out at Jae Hoon, face still swollen. She wipes away the spit and blood from the corner of her lips, as she stumbles towards the fighter. "It's not FAIR! It's not FAIR! Why are you doing so much BETTER than me? WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING!" Mitsuru flails her arms around wildly. Silver energy builds up as she flings her up in the air. Tantrum still enduring, she flails her arms around, rising up in the air as she comes into her frenzied tantrum, flinging out waves and waves of sparkling silver energy into a barrage all over the rooftop. Not at the students and audience, but in the general area that was where Jae Hoon was. It was an unfocused, wild carpet bombing. Inefficient.

But no less powerful

Deep brown irises stay trained on Mitsuru as she takes to the ground, wallowing in the impact of his interception. It probably sucked to take the brunt of that attack, but with how violent her flailing was getting, he couldn't chance staying within her proximity. She needed to get away from him, pronto, and that was all he could come up with at the time to achieve that.

However, it is clear she is enraged, as she comes to a renewed stand. Jae Hoon held himself steady in his position, unwavering in his own stance, bearing witness to her continuing tantrum. He isn't going to shout words of suggestion, likely because it very possible they will just fall onto deaf ears. Mitsuru is quite displeased with him, and any reception to feedback would be disregarded.

So, he keeps his mouth shut, and his eyes peeled.

Another burst of invisible energy surges, rippling the air around her, as she launches up into the air. Poised for impact, the Korean teen only moves once the projectile starts raining. Every so often, he is stopped to brace for the brunt of one of the barrages. Some of them tear into his arms, one grazes his palm during a swift move away, splitting open the skin there.

Ouch!

Despite this, he curls his hands inward into tight fists, the pain ignored for the time being as he regains focus. The moment Mitsuru descends to the ground, Jae Hoon would burst forth at incredible speed once again. Once he nears her personal space, he will leap forward onto his uninjured hand and attempt to perform a whirling spin kick to her face.

[MITSURU]
Impossible.

Mitsuru unleashed her attack. She was scary, with her wild unpredictable attacks. He didn't even respond to it. As Mitsuru falls down, she is immediately greeted with a whirling kick. She snaps, trying to throw her own leg up in a heavy arc. Energy flashes over her as she rises, her attention shifting. From Jae to the Audience, to her fight club. She looks towards Kaicho, that restrained look of- look of- Something clicks in Mitsuru head in a flash, as she looks at Kaicho's hands, and how her expression was-

And she screws everything up.

The kick hits her hard, staggering her away. Mitsuru completes the attack anyways, throwing herself up in the air with a wild kick, an embarassment into nothing. As she lands, far away from Jae and far away from being any threat, her body almost forces her to collapse. She -should- collapse. Now, Jae could probably see the blood on her blouse. Her old scar was forced open; the wound bleeding again far more than even Jae's skill could do. Her ribs were digging in, but there was no blood on her breath. Just that enduring, oozing blood from her chest. Her face was red, she looked almost ready to either cry or try and bite Jae Hoon's ear off. Mitsuru hisses out loud, her voice hoarse as she almost sounded defeated. Almost unaware of the blood on her hand, as she grabs her chest. "IT'S NOT FAIR!" And then, she lets it out.

"YOU HAD YOUR DADDY TO TRAIN YOU!"

[JAE HOON]
Okay.

Mitsuru is a gosh darn mess. Anyone with eyes could see it.

Normally, Jae would be incredibly concerned by the state of affairs of someone this badly injured. However, the judges aren't moving. The referee isn't interjecting into the fight. No one is calling for a pause.

And now that he is standing here, able to take a moment to really get a look at her, to reflect on what has transpired thus far... he notices his hands are trembling.

Not because of fear, but because of pure unaltered annoyance.

Countlessly, over and over again, the Korean boy has endured insult after blatant insult on his father's name. Besmirching. /Disrespect./ Dishonour. All of it is piling up heavy on his shoulders, and it is only now that he has observed the effect this onslaught of contempt has had on him.

Jae Hoon loves his father dearly. Admires him to the fullest. Would go to the ends of the earth to ensure he was supported and cared for. It is no wonder he has so faithfully followed in Kaphwan's footsteps, both in his lifestyle choices and his Taekwondo training.

Not many kids are lucky enough to be blessed with such a loving, kind-hearted, and strong-willed parent to lead them through life. He understands this.

Yet, he is still slightly outraged by this childish behaviour Mitsuru has displayed throughout the entirety of their match.
ightfully so, Jae!

And so, with earthly-coloured irises piercing their gaze across the length of the sparring zone, he focuses his energy. Regains a sense of control through centering himself with deep, long breaths. This fight would determine his standing in the League, while also showcasing the pride of the Kim family's dedication to their artform. He can't afford to lose his composure here. Not when thousands of eyes are watching in.

So, he must remind himself why he is here. Why his father /trusts/ him to represent their dojang in a land far removed from what he calls home.

But not once does he tear his eyes from his adversary. Focusing. Waiting.

COMBATSYS: Jae Hoon focuses on his next action.

[MITSURU]
Mitsuru shudders, a fury building in her heart.

She was bleeding so awfully. She should quit. And- and the way Kaicho looked at her. What could it mean? She didn't want to dwell on it. And how Jae was looking at her. That disgust. That stern, mean, daddy stare. Piercing her, seeing her for what she really is. "SAY SOMETHING!" Mitsuru shrieks, lashing out before a second, softer voice come. "Please. Please say something." There is a whimper for a moment, a faint shadow of a sob as she lowers her eyes.

"Please." She draws in a staggered breath, her wound on her chest flaring in pain. "PAY ATTENTION TO ME!" She bellows, a second wind running through her veins as she flings herself at Jae. Her fists flailing, hammering forward as she unleashes a rapid-fire barrage of punches again. Not quite as brutal as the last one, but fueled by a hunger for vengeance, a hunger for something, anything. For Jae to react to her bad behavior, to talk to her, to REACT! All as she growls out her imaginary attack into reality.

"ORA ORA ORA!"

COMBATSYS: Jae Hoon blocks Mitsuru's Blazing Hell Fist.

Jae Hoon         2/<<<<<<</<<<<<<<|=====--\-------\0          Mitsuru

[JAE HOON]
This Korean fighter has no intention of giving her the attention she is craving. This unstable desire clearly comes from a faraway place that he can't even begin to fathom touching, and even if he could... well, he wouldn't.

That is not his role here.

Today, he will fight her, one on one, evenly. Fair and square.

Mitsuru's seemingly blind flailing gets met with a series of forearm block that knocks the first few punches away. The others do land square on those open cuts again, splattering them both with blood, but Jae pushes through the strings of stinging pain to deflect those wild attacks off him. Through the spaces between their rapid movements, Jae is able to see the fierce drive for vengeance in his opponent's eyes. Perhaps there is even something deeper there, but it is elusive and beyond his understanding.

Lithe form circles around her now, and as Jae Hoon flanks her from her peripherals, he mutters, with a cool breathiness to his voice, "Understand." It is incredibly cryptic, but it means to penetrate the subconscious.

And, as he says this, he swings his back leg around in one fell swoop. Should his attack hit, he will smoke Mitsuru clean across the temple, multiple times, serving to bruise and dizzy her. Then, he will spin to the left, launching a back sick that would soar her skyward alongside a bursting red-hot phoenix that would pattern the sky with its erupting amber wings. Likely, it will burn her skin as an after effect.

"Chou Hou'ou /Kyaku!/"

COMBATSYS: Jae Hoon successfully hits Mitsuru with Chou Hou'ou Kyaku.

[MITSURU]
For Mitsuru, she would have to grow to reach that place for Jae to consider her equal.

Until then, she has the lanky, teenage brat to contend with. Unrefined in her martial talent. Even as she unleashes a second barrage of punches, it never quite breaks Jae's defenses to the girl's rage. Worse, when she breaks the rhythm, the boy's kick sneaks through. "NO"! She tries to punch away the counter-attack, only barely deflecting it as she flails. The kick comes straight into her head, again and again, as the words hammer into her. UNDERSTAND. UNDERSTAND. UNDERSTAND! The words spin in her head as she finally lands, the fires blazing over her, burning her uniform slightly. She falls on the rooftop. She lays there too long. Understand. Understand. The judges begin to call it, she hears their voices. And her eyes flash open. Judges. NO! NO! UNDERSTAND! NO!

"NO!"

Mitsuru screams as she staggers up, falling over as she collapses towards Jae Hoon. "NO! NO! NO! I WON'T LET YOU STEAL MY POINTS! I WON'T LET YOU CALL A DECISION AGAIN!" Tears were running down her face, as she screams her way forward. "YOU DUMB DADDY'S BOY! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU!" She screams as she finally forces herself into a stand. And then, dipping in, she suddenly -charges- instead of falling down. Of the boxing, a new technique emerges as she pulls off the Mishima specialty: A mist step. Rushing in, she would explode with a final, defiant uppercut aimed straight for Jae Hoon's jaw, to knock him back. Before she herself would fall backwards. Bloodied. Broken. She wasn't going to wake up for a long time. Kaicho shakes her head. She would be losing today. But that's okay. Kaicho would fix her, no matter what.

Mitsuru needed Kaicho.

COMBATSYS: Mitsuru can no longer fight.

[JAE HOON]
Honestly, it does hurt Jae Hoon to hear words like this.

Hate is such a strong feeling. It bleeds into people's consciousness, spreading across the world and manifesting in unsightly ways. Crimes. Murder. Desolation. So much of what he has seen growing up is just this, if only because of his father's reformation of criminals. Such hatred fuels the very opposite of it, though.

Justice.

A feeling so deeply engrained in his very soul, the young Korean teen thrives in the ability to help, teach, and bring about a new understanding that allows for people to see the world in a different light. A warm, content, happy light. Something he has obtained through Kaphwan's teachings.

Something, it seems, that his opponent is very much lacking. Or wishing she had.

Whatever the case may be, Jae Hoon stands here today to further that sense of knowledge through the honour of fighting. As Mitsuru launches towards him, once again blindly swinging, he tries to block it. This has boded well throughout the majority of the fight, but for once, he stumbles. The first clean hit she has been able to land on him at all smacks into the underside of his jaw, though from the messiness of the attack itself, it serves to send him back with a bit of an ache to his throat. As he clutches his neck, briefly he thinks there'll probably be a bruise there tomorrow.

The thud of her body hitting the ground alerts him from his slightly pained reverie. She is down, but he... he still stands.

And the small crowd cheers at his victory. The referee eagerly prances up to the midway space between himself and Mitsuru to take his mostly uninjured arm up into the air, raised in sheer praise. Dazed, but brightly grinning, Jae Hoon glances about the set stage, and pumps his other fist proudly up above his head.

"We have a winner!"

COMBATSYS: Jae Hoon takes no action.
