Neo League 0143 - NL6: QF - Daniel vs Yun

[Toggle Names]

Description: Having qualified for the final 8 of the Neo-League, Yun and Daniel face off at Genhanten to see who will make the semi-finals (Winner: Daniel)

The finals were here.

Set back a little from the main street, the Genhanten is an old building with a tiled roof and traditional Chinese entrance. The big doors are flanked on either side by carved stone lions, and the name is inset on a wooden plaque. The Old Kingdom motif continues inside. The restaurant has an open central room, laid out such that diners on the second level can look down to the main floor. The finishings are mostly solid wood, including the stairs, balcony railings, and rafters overhead. The furniture is the same, dark and lacquered with a sort of old-fashioned minimalism. Most of the seating is located on the ground, but there are more private tables up in alcoves and private rooms on the second level. Lighting in the restaurant is subdued, with windows shuttered to cast patterns of light and dark...and carefully placed lanterns maintaining the effect at dusk.

It was dusk that Daniel Jack worked best.

Outside the restaurant, a crowd of fedora-wearing men of many cultures and creeds lurk outside. They had come earlier, they had spent tons of money on chinese food, and for Yun's sake, they were awful tippers AND rude to the staff. And they had all come to watch their hero, Daniel the Ladykiller. NOw, full of noodles and vegetables, they were waiting, watching in the area sectioned off for the Neo-LEague finals. It was Daniel vs Yun.

And the shadows rise together.

Consolidating together, the detective forms up in a three piece orange zoot suit. Features impossibly dark, yellow eyes peer out from under his wide-brimmed hat, as white fangs sneer into a hungry leer. The crowd roars in delight, the audience breaking into a cheer. The smile fades into a scowl, as he glares at his fans. "Keep it down, squares! Keep it down! You guys better have behaved well here..." He glances over to the resteraunt.

"I really hope nobody got pissed off this time..."

Annoyed. That's likely the look on the face of Yun Lee, the Twin Dragon of the Wind and Clouds as he finishes up his shift here at Genhanten. Granted, maybe he's finishing up early because of the fact that he's in the Neo-League Finals and Yang isn't. But whatever the case may be, if he can score the win here this season that's more money he can bring into the village and help out Chinatown even more. Which is why he's doing all this fighting in the first place, right?

Okay, okay. Maybe he wants to showoff too. Whatever. Same difference or something.

Yun tosses a nyah-nyah salute to Yang and the rest of Genhanten's staff as he makes with the exiting. He's got his skateboard tucked under his arm because that's where he keeps it when he's not riding it. There's a weird disturbance in the Force or something that has him turning himself around to look in the direction of the Fedora Horde. Yun's eyes narrow. He remembers them. Rude. Bad Tippers. He thought it was kind of weird for there to be so many of them. And now he understands why.

"So this how you do, bro?" Yun rolls his eyes as he wanders away from the restaurant and in the general direction of Daniel the Ladykiller. "Send your loser friends ahead to scope out the goods?" Yun reaches up to straighten out the 'NL' cap that he's been wearing to help promote the end of the season and just kind of smirks.

Daniel actually was trying to be nice, but when the teenager acts all moody with him? Daniel thrusts a finger his direction. "Listen here kid, these guys are just misguided. They look at me, they think I like beating up women." "At least they are wearing some hot threads, you dig?" Daniel adjusts his own jacket, before easing into the defensive stance of TOdoh-Ryuu. ON hand up, one hand behind, he takes on the Aikido stance. "Besides, I'm a real hepp cat. I used to work with the kids on Gedo Street." HE glances at the skateboard, and nods.

"You know how to ollie, is that right?"

"God, you're old."

Yun rolls his eyes and drops his skateboard down to the ground as he moves to get into his own stance. His Kempo style showing at the edges as he bounces on the heels of his sneakers. "What is a hot thread? What are you even... what?" Yun just takes a moment to wave a hand dismissively because trying to go down the old people's slang slide is likely going to be a rabbit hole of pure mental anguish.

"Let's just put you to bed before you throw out a hip or something, man." Yun extends a hand and bring it on motions at Daniel.

"Hold on, are you calling me -old?-"

DAniel drops his guard a moment. "Look, okay, I shouldn't have called you kid. BUt I'm like in my 30s. That's not old! I mean, yes, a lot of the MILFs are becoming more like 'women younger than me' but I'm not old, dammit!" He glances over to the audience. "I'm not old!" One of the them pipes up. "Aren't you like, a timeless horror from the depths of humanity?" Daniel rolls his eyes. "I'm from KANSAS!" He explains. The judges call the fight to begin.

Giving Yun the opportunity he needs to strike.

"Why do I always get the weird ones?"

Yun slides out of his fighting stance in a quick movement to lunge at Daniel! He aims to snatch him up and yank him close enough for some leaping action. Yun aims to leap up, plant a foot against Daniel's chest and kick off the older one's chest for some stylish somersaulting antics that may or may not drag some of this crowd over to his side of this here fight.

If there are any Genhanten regulars around, they may be going for Yun but even that depends on how much he's annoyed them.

COMBATSYS: Yun successfully hits Daniel with Ento Shugeki.

"Wait do you mean weird- GRAGH!"

Daniel was turning back over to Yun, still in the mindset that the fight wasn't beginning. And when he sees him launching in at a break neck speed? He realizes way too late that it's going down. He falls back into his defensive stance on his heels. Doesn't help with his arms though, and he take a kick right in the chest. Chest imploding inwards, his form fades at the edges, a shadowy imprint building in the darkness. Groaning, he looks back at Yun.

All as people in the crowd start cheering for him!

THey might be lousy tippers, but they like the food. And the Ladykiller was competing between their hearts, and their stomach. Eyes wide, he keeps his defense coming up. But for more offensive approaches. Lashing his arms out to try and catch Yun -after- the fact, the man tries to keep the teen from escaping his fans. Should he get a grip on the boy? He would absolutely and immediately ground him to the floor, slamming him down and pinning him down with a -twist-.

"You got a lot of tongue, kid!"

COMBATSYS: Yun dodges Daniel's Grounding Throw.

Once somebody like Yun starts moving its kind of hard for him to stop. Especially when it comes to a fight. It's all about looking good and kicking some ass right now and even though he's not fighting for the honor of the village or sparring with his twin brother, Yun has to take this fight pretty serious enough. It's for the Neo-League, after all.

"Tongue? A lot of tongue?" Yun rolls his eyes as he sidesteps to spin out of the grabbing motion coming from the Ladykiller. "That's not even--- ugh, it's a lot of lip. You got a lot of lip, kid!"

Yun takes a moment to actually facepalm because he cannot believe that this old person is trying to talk stuff and still can't even use the right slanguage.

Yun takes a step and launches himself into the air. His arms go up and he sails in Daniel's direction, one leg outstretched as he sails in a crane style formation to see if he can't catch Daniel off guard!

COMBATSYS: Yun successfully hits Daniel with Raigeki Shu.

"I don't feel comfortable about talking about a boy's lips, you di-"

Daniel was going to explain how he wasn't comfortable about talking about a boy's lips, but right at the end, while he was going for the grapple, the teenager was surging back at him, kicking him before he could slip away. Groaning on impact, he is splattered into a puddle of inky goo on the ground. For a moment, he lingers. Was that it? The end? But he rises again.

And his yellow eyes looked mad.

"Okay boy, looks like I've underestimated you." He reaches full height again, and then, stomps. Shadowy tendrils spreads all around under his feet, saturating the street with darkness. Spreading out past the boundaries of the ring, new faces appear in the audience. Distorted faces, shadowy faces. Some of them don't have faces at all. Shadowy shapes build and ebb, as lampposts begin to rise around the edges. Daniel's own features were deep, dark shadows, as the shade begins to reform his shape. He sweeps his arms, bringing his palms up as he rolls his head.

"Looks like I better jack this up a notch!"

COMBATSYS: Daniel Jacks it up a notch!

"Uh. Dude. What."

Yun's reaction to all these tendrils and shadows and shadowy tendrils and faces and non-faces and... it's just a lot. Way too much for someone like Yun to be dealing with. In fact, when he gets himself back up to his feet and his normal fighting stance, there's a moment where Yun just has to ask, "How come I never get to fight anyone normal?" It's just a question tossed at whomever may be listening or at least the fans at home.

"If this stuff ruins my sneaks, man..." Yun just leaps in the Ladykiller's direction, reaching out to see if he can't grab an arm and just twirls inward in hopes of swinging and slinging Daniel over his shoulder and off in the direction of his own weird shadowyness. Shadowyself? It's complicated and Yun is not one to try and figure things out.

COMBATSYS: Daniel blocks Yun's Quick Throw.

It was a lot, even for Daniel's fans.

When those strange spectres appear, the audience was getting a little freaked out. But Daniel, for his purposes, was dead focused on his opponent. And more so? The tendrils were starting to probe at Yun's shins and feet. Daniel nods at the request, as the teenager comes in to grapple him. "I'll keep off your shoes, kid!" Daniel states as he is flung into his own shadowstuff. He immediately sinks through... and pops out on the opposite side of Yun. Rolling back up, he rises up in a steady stand.

And immediately erupts into a palm strike with the left.

Orange and shadow energy flowing over him, he follows up with an arching hand chop with the right. Turning, he chains into an elbow jab before unleashing two chi slashes point blank with each hand, a relentless combination. A relentless combination that, in fact, ends with both hand coming down to grab Yun, and promptly flip him over with a savage hip throw.

Taking care not to mess with his sneakers.

COMBATSYS: Daniel successfully hits Yun with Harlem Sunset.

"Wait... wha?"

Yun doesn't get a lot of time or even a chance to react the way he wants to. He manages to catch sight of Daniel disappearing into the shadowstuff and only realizes that he's back when he hears that voice. He spins around in time to try and step out of the way but that palm strike rocks his body harder than expected. It only takes the consistent juggling of his body through the chop and elbow jab for Yun to not even have a defense for the chi-slashing that stumbles him backward. Yun doesn't realize until its too late that he's been grabbed and hip thrown towards the shadowness the ground!

The collision of Yun's body smacking down hard and rolling comes with the Twin Dragon bouncing back up to his feet and just sort of wobbling for a second while he tries to understand what madness just occurred to his body. "I swear, I need to discover my own mystical powers." Yun mutters this to himself while he tries to find his fighting stance again. "Or a magical amulet or necklace or something. This is mad unfair." Yun steels himself and focuses once again before narrowing his eyes in Daniel's direction.

Yun breaks off into another of his swift runs and launches into the air, again, this time aiming an extended leg for yet another patented divekick as if these moves are the reason he's considered the Dragon of the Wind and Clouds.

COMBATSYS: Daniel interrupts Diving Kick from Yun with Jumping Jack Flash.

The environment continues to change.

Daniel reappearance came with a relentless combination, which finishes with Yun getting pancaked straight on the shadows. The moment he hits? The shadowy shapes of a resteraunt floods around them the shape of tables and chairs manifesting in shadowy semi-real shapes, with shadows sitting and in the middle of dining on shadow substance. Was it reality? Was it fantasy? Daniel knew what it was. He knew what it meant.

And he decided he wasn't going to pretend he didn't anymore.

As Yun took to the air, Daniel steps up on a chair, and then on a table. The shades seem outraged at the interruption, as Daniel sweeps his arms. They are drawn in, swirled back into the detective as he draws them up, building in shadowy energy. A the teenager dives down, Daniel hurls a rising palm to intercept Yun just as the kick comes from the Dragon of the Wind and Clouds. Groaning in pain, the detective's body buckles, his shadowy form nearly breaking. But the other hand comes around.

And both hands seize Yun in a pincher grip.

DAniel leaps off he table, letting orange and black energy swirl from himself and right over Yun. Lighting Yun up, he spikes Yun straight down through another shadowy table, the remains of it exploding into morphic ooze of shadow stuff as the shades fade away around it. Daniel stands over Yun, as he returns back to form. "Let me tell you kid. Skip the mumbo jumbo and tricks."

"You're really damn good being yourself!"

The amount of pain on Yun's face after such a brutal interruption of his divekick might not even match the level of teenage eyerolling annoyance that happens when he hears Daniel's advice. In fact, Yun even turns to look off to the side with an annoyed expression. Some of the fans or shadow people may even get the opportunity to see that Yun is not exactly happy with this turn of events. Also, the pain that's actually pouring through his body is paramount and there's some serious wincing behind the eyes that are rolling.

"Says the guy with the mumbo jumbo and tricks." Yun shakes his head and rolls backwards, climbing back to his feet at a gingerly pace because he's just been rocked something fierce, back-to-back and the soreness he's definitely going to be feeling for the next couple of days. Semi-professional fighter or not, getting spiked through shadow tables hurt like hell.

Yun kicks it up a notch of his own accord and takes off in a quick run towards the Ladykiller. He pulls up short to leap into the air again, aiming a pair of low-angled high kicks for Daniel's face. Just trying to see if he can back him off a bit and maybe even give himself a chance get a smidgen of breathing room. Or maybe even get rid of some of these shadow arts. Whatever works.

COMBATSYS: Daniel just-defends Yun's Nishokyaku!!

Daniel actually could -taste- that pain.

It kinda felt good to taste it. But he didn't -need- to taste it. He didn't need it to eat. He can skip ignoring the shadows now. But the sensual allure of pain? Gonna hard pass on that. He was already feeling a bit wild now, and it wasn't a good feeling. Well, it was good -now-

But he knew the hangover wasn't worth it.

"That Mumbo Jumbo is TODOH-RYUU KOBOJUTSU!" Daniel declares, yellow eyes flaring with power as he waits for the teenager to rise up. The shades around him were all watching him, as the boy makes a run to him. Sweeping his arms around, he centers himself as the high kicks come. He hooks a hand under the first one, thumb in place as he steps cleanly with the first. The second comes, and he repeats the motion with trained automation. Daniel doesn't back off. Oh no, he actually was repositioning after that last one, tracking Yun as he begins to fall down. It was a nearly perfect defensive response. And now, the follow through. "Allow me to demonstrate." He draws back a palm.

ANd it flares with orange and shadowy energy.

He hurls forward, attempting to slam it squarely into Yun. Should it connect with the teenager? He would tear Yun through the shadow tables, chairs, and shades themselves, utterly destroying them as he would carry Yun along to the edge of the makeshift arena. ONce he gets there? He would pivot him around to slam him squarely on his back, before finishing with an explosion of orange and shadow energy by -smashing- his palm on the teen's chest while he is down.

Just like how Kasumi did it.

"But you just said-- ugh! Old people!"

The frustration is wearing on the mind of Yun Lee and he doesn't even realize that Daniel's already gotten himself into a position to layeth all kinds of shadowy smacketh down upon him. In fact, he doesn't even realize he's moving against Daniel's movements until he's already doing it. Natural Kempo instincts must've kicked in because he's just reaching out and brushing that fantastic todoh list punch to the side while moving right along with it so that he finds himself in a better position to try and mount some sort of counter defense.

"Hope you like this!"

Yun's movements don't even seem to stop as he swings in towards Daniel with an upward-angled lashing of his arm to try and catch him in the face. This is quickly followed with a strong elbow strike aimed for Daniel's chest and Yun's body keeps spinning so that he can take him airborne with a shoulder charge!

"Get ready!"

Yun tries to square himself underneath what is hopefully a falling Ladykiller with a strong upward punch aimed to let him fall upon.

Most of the shades were gone now.

The detective's aggressive energy-intensive strikes were consuming them, absorbing them back into him. As he unleashes the frightening charge, he actually flies all the way across -without- a Yun. Turning his head to track, his white fangs were twisted up into a... grin? "Nice one!" He growls as Yun smacks him right in the face. As the elbow strike comes, he catches it with one flailing arm, moving with it. That's enough to take him up in the air, the shadow flailing his arms. When Yun gets in position for the uppercut, the detective twists around, and he is forced to cross his arms in it, taking a full forced blow into his limbs that rattle all the way up his body. Groaning as he collapses down, he eases up, still keeping close.

"Thanks for the warning kid!"

Daniel states, as he surges in with a shadow and orange palm strike, energy spiralling around him as he follows with an arching hand chop. The wave of energy continue as he attempts to seize Yun once again, only to heave him up and slam himself and Yun from a hip throw straight into a pin on the ground with a great burst of shadow orange flames.

"And I'm not OLD!"

Yun doesn't even understand how someone can preach not to go for the mumbo jumbo while whooping his ass with that same mumbo jumbo. Somewhere in the middle of trying to realign himself after the Ladykiller's comments, Yun realizes that there's some more of that black and orange flame headed in his direction. His feet are already planted and he can't exactly move quick enough so he just tries to cover himself up.

Big Mistake.

The palm strike itself breaks through the arms that Yun was trying to use to stop himself from getting wrecked. Yun stumbles and only gets righted thanks to the energy flavored hand chop that has Yun wobbling. Yun's seized and heaved up and the next thing he knows, he's smacking into the ground while being engulfed in such draining shadow orange flames.

"Ugggggggggh." Yun barely understands what in the world just happened. He doesn't even know how he's still alive. He can barely move. At least, well, it seems like he can barely move. He actually has to flip himself over and drag himself back up to his feet because he's bleeding from a lot of places. Too many places. But there's no blood on his sneakers so that's a plus. "Okay. Not old." This is mostly said to himself because he's just been rocked something fierce for calling this man old. Multiple times. Smarmy teenager commentary really shouldn't be happening for a while.

What little bit of strength that Yun has left is poured into a leaping stride towards Daniel where he extends a fist hoping to just, y'know, hit him. Kempo Style!

Daniel might have a hypocritical edge to him in the end.

Having unleashed his combos again, he penetrates Yun's defenses, and pin him down. "Gotcha!" HE states. Of course, Yun breaks out, and Daniel staggers back. He surges in focus as Yun blasts his fist in... but the fact is that the teenage was -fast-. When the blow connects? The shade puffs out, his shape splintering and falling apart. Daniel is barely held together, he was almost more prenumbra than man now; a hazy outline of diffused shadow with hardly any center. Swaying like shapes in the starlight, he gives a thumbs up, indistinct as it was. "Now you're digging it, kid!" He compliments, as the other hand grips a shadow chair. The only one left, with a strange shadow cat hissing as he spooks it off. Ripping it up, he clutches it with two hands.

And comes down on Yun.

Slamming the last shadow chair down at Yun, he would follow up with a second slam. He would then attempt to hook the chair around Yun's neck, to scoop him up to flip him around to unleash the finisher: slamming him and the chair down into an explosion of black and orange, blazing in a cyclone around them both.

Letting the chair disintigate into shadow stuff with it.

COMBATSYS: Daniel successfully hits Yun with Ragtime Riot.

Yun              2/<<<<<<</<<<<<<<|=------\-------\0           Daniel

It is pretty close to impossible that Yun can get out of the way of such vicious shadowy tirade. He's already hurting from the onslaught of viciousness from the Ladykiller in the first place and now that he's barely standing on his still pristine sneakers, Yun just kind of tries to weave out of the way of Daniel's latest attempt at putting him down.

And his face goes right into the shadow chair without. Talk about being unbeweavable.

The chair slams are pretty painful and Yun isn't even sure he's awake for the hook and scoop! His eyes are open and wide as he can see the ground coming up towards him faster then he was ready for it too. The collision and resulting cyclonic explosion of black and orange make short work of the young dragon and when the shadow clears and the explosion dissipates, Yun Lee is just sprawled in a pile of bruises, blood and a broken heart. His passion for the fight couldn't carry him through to the other side. Not against such impressive mumbo jumbo.

Yun blinks. Twice. Even looking surprised that he opened his own eyes. Shaky arms push his teenage bones (as broken as they may be) up into a seated position and then eventually to his feet. Somehow he manages to find some sort of version of a fighting stance but he can barely make a fist. Still. He's standing. Which is not exactly something he should probably be doing after all that. Even though his clothes are torn asunder and ripped from the brawl, his sneakers are still in awesome condition.

Daniel's a man of his word.

Yun draws on everything he has left it seems as he takes a heavy stomp towards Daniel and extends both of his palms out towards the Ladykiller in some twisted last ditch effort to stand up for himself.

See, Daniel imagined that was it.

As he brings the full force of his shadow chi down into a relentless assault, he figured that Yun was done. Brushing his hands off, he relaxes a bit. He had gotten a bit serious, sure. But Yun started putting way too pressure on him with his speed and power. So Daniel got serious back. It was understable, and now that Yun was defeated, the teenager would understand afterwards. Daniel picked the right thing, and he would be forgiven for it.

But Yun comes back.

Defiantly standing up to the Darkstalker, Daniel felt... uncomfortable. Really uncomfortable. Why was he throwing it all making a stand, and being a... being a hero? As the full force erupts straight at him, he turns, his palms guiding Yun past him. HIs eyes were wide, and his composure was... nervous. He actually blurts out, looking aside to the audience.

"Why won't you stay down?"

Daniel states, kind of offended. "I'm the good guy here! Right? I'm a good guy!" He argues, as he sweeps his arms around. Orange and Shadow energy flows all around him, as it reaches the apex of his limbs. And there, he slams them down, unleashing a tsunami in a hemisphere around him, a wave of orange and shadow energy boiling forward as he feels... feels bad. Feels like how Lita treated him. How people saw him with Hayley. And yet, he was pouring as much power as he could in this. Not only with body burning chi waves, but sneaker shredding energy. Why did he? Why wouldn't he?

The Twin Dragon of the Wind and Clouds is merely tossed aside like his final attack meant nothing. Which causes a stumble so bad that he almost finds himself back on the ground. Somehow, though, maybe through just sheer force of will, Yun manages to stay on his feet. His cap has been knocked crooked and askew on his head and the poor kid just doesn't have the energy to reach up and fix it.

It's not until he hears Daniel's question does Yun blink. It's a question that he actually hadn't thought about. Up until now. Up until getting back on his feet. Up until it was asked. "Two reasons."

Yun whirls around at the same time that Daniel seems to be gathering up that orange and shadow energy once again. "One?" Yun takes a step toward Daniel and that energy surging. "Gen'll kick my ass if he found out I just gave up." And as that energy comes tsunami-ing at him, Yun stomps on the back end of the skateboard he dropped so long ago, flipping it up into his hands and he gives it a swiping motion to cut a swath through the shadowed orangeness of pain that's headed in his direction as he rushes in behind it and towards Daniel, all the while a sudden burst of adrenaline seems to be coursing through his veins.

"I'm an annoying teenager! We don't stay down!"

The skateboard is tossed aside as Yun's rush at Daniel becomes evident. "Can't stand up to my Kung Fu!" comes the warning as Yun throws a pair of elbow strikes at Daniel quickly followed by a couple of lunging palm strikes to see if he can't get the Ladykiller off-center a bit. Yun turns up the speed and uses his leading hand to hammer an arm smash at Daniel! Yun spins to throw a vicious roundhouse next, following that up with a flying kick aimed to send the Ladykiller into the air!

"Time to showoff a little!"

Yun launches into the air, hoping to see if he can't land on a possibly airborne Daniel's back, because of course he'd tried to ride him like a skateboard, in the interim he reaches up to straighten his cap out. A sudden flip may put him in a spinning handstand (for extra style points) before Yun aims to put Daniel down with a rapid flurry of downward kicks! Should the luck of the Dragon be on his side, Yun can finish this combo off with a powerful kick to send Daniel face first into the ground!

The audience should be cheering.

There was a pulsation of energy in there, there was joy. But what it the darkness that smothered it? Daniel's darkness? HOw far has his shadows gotten in? As he slams down the waves of energy, Daniel was blind. Applause comes out, uncertain, fearful, as the waves of darkness and light blaze out. Was Daniel the bad guy here? He was the hero.

And he still couldn't believe that Yun was sailing straight for him.

Daniel stares down the incoming teenager with a wide-eyed look of dread. The smash comes out, and Daniel hurls up a palm. He can deflect the opening punch decently... but when the roundhouse comes? He is forced to bring an arm up, which splatters the limb wildly. THe shade groans as he is sent reeling into the air. He suddenly finds a teenager on his back, as he is ridden like a dutch mule. As he is flipped around, the rapid fire kicks are met with a singular rapid palm, barely keeping up with the barrage before he is unceramously spiked straight down to the ground. LAnding with a splat, he reforms all too quickly, swaying in agony as he barely keeps it together.

And those wild yellow eyes were on Yun.

"That's real cute, kid." Daniel growls with jagged fangs. "But I'm through with cute!" Daniel fires out his rock solid combination. A palm strike with the left, and a hand chop with the right, once against blazing with shadow and fire. Chaining into an elbow strike aimed squarely for Yun's ribs, he would suddenly finish with a palm strike that comes a little too slow... but explodes with a blast of shadow force, aiming to blow himself and the teen apart.

As he snarls at the boy like a monster.

COMBATSYS: Yun dodges Daniel's Zoot Suit Riot EX.

Sometimes heroics show up at the strangest of moments. Sometimes its the most least suspecting people. Who would've thought that one of the punk kids that skate around Chinatown every day would be one of the people tasked with protecting it. Even if their reputation and connection to the infamous Gen should've taken them in the other direction. Perhaps the hearts of young warriors such as the Twin Dragons just could not be tainted by the allure of infamy.

Then again, maybe it's not about being a hero. Maybe it's just about being an annoying asshole of a teenager that doesn't know when to quit.

"Dude." Yun seems to be finding something of a second wind. Or maybe his young age has put him in a position to deal with the pain that's pouring through his body at such a tremendous rate. Or maybe it's just the rush of adrenaline that he gets when he fights. When he doesn't give up. When he makes a stand. Like the one he's making right here, right now.

"Gotta' say, you left cute about two decades ago."

Yun flashes a bit of a grin as he seems to be moving a bit better, sliding into a variant Kempo stance that doesn't look like any of the ones he's used before. Oh no, this looks like something different. Maybe Yun Lee's best kung fu has yet to come. "Here's how this can go, old man!" Yun's eyes narrow as he speaks. Rather, warns? "You can take your party tricks and walk away while I'm still feeling generous. Save a little face in front of whatever fans you got left." Yun's not even sure there are any but he's stalling here, work with him. "Or!" Yun's fighting stance tightens up and his lips curl into a smirk that might make it seem like he's been planning this all along. "You can keep tryin' to step to me and find out just how much I've been holding back."

Yun offers a wink in Daniel's direction to solidify what may or may not be a bluff. Either way, he's managed to give himself enough of a breather to maybe mount some sort of offense. Y'know, if he doesn't taunt the Ladykiller into walking away...

COMBATSYS: Yun straightens out his cap.

Was he holding back?

As Daniel's Zoot Suit Riot comes out, he realizes that either Yun was learning from the relentless combos of the detective, or he was done being cute too. Daniel feels the pressure; he remembers what happened last time an opponent was right at the edge of losing, and what happened afterwards. He remembered what Lotus did. And when Yun escapes his offense, and Daniel staggers back, the boy actually -taunts- him? And what does Daniel say in response?

Daniel's face loses all features, except for his white fangs and blazing eyes. His clothing fades into the shape of shadow, as Daniel becomes totally engulfed in the darkness. As the taunt comes, it seems that it was actually inciting Daniel now. "I'm not doing this for fans, kid. I've come out of hiding to face Aranha, to get CLOSURE and ATONEMENT for what I've done!" He roars, as he begins to move. "I'm not going to just walk away!" Daniel snarls, as orange energy flashes around him. Lunging in low, he attempts to seize Yun by his knee and shin, to lift it up and promptly slam him down into a blast of chi. And should he force Yun to the ground by his knee? And he would -twist- the moment he gets Yun in a pin

COMBATSYS: Daniel successfully hits Yun with Mad Jack Crack EX.

Figures. Nobody ever falls for the bluff.

Yun narrows his eyes beneath that cap of his while he tries to keep his teenage sneer up and running. He's hoping he can fool this dude into backing down but perhaps the glory of the Neo-League is just too much to give up. Too much to walk away from.

Or maybe Daniel's just trippin'.

Either way, Yun catches Daniel headed his way and attempts to swerve his hands into some sort of block but he predicts wrong and finds himself snatched up by the Ladykiller! He wasn't ready for some grabbing of the leg and by the time he's chi-slammed into the concrete there's no time for Yun to do anything but scream out in pain as that vicious twist happens and Yun's leg does not look like it's going to be moving any time soon. Not the way it's supposed to anyway.

No quips are left inside the poor teenager and the only thing he can do before the pain overtakes everything he has left and yanks him out of consciousness is extend a final fist at Daniel (or the vile shadow facsimile off) to, at the very lest, punch him off his body so that the paramedics can actually find his body.

COMBATSYS: Yun can no longer fight.

Daniel saw the look on Yun's face, when he looked upon his.

He saw it. That... that feel of what it was. That surge of ecstasy when the scream came, and the suffering. Oh the suffering when he realizes what he just did to Yun. It wiped the nightmare right off Daniel's face. When the punch comes, the detective jolts, shifting into shadowy shapes for a moment as he pulls back, pulls off his pin. Yun wasn't getting up. He wouldn't be getting up. He might never get up and walk again. The fight is called, the judges... they call for him. Daniel was in a daze, as his body ached and burned.

And he looks into the audience.

His fans are too quiet. No cheers. No roars of satisfication. Just a silent staring at the man who just wrenched a boy's leg out of his knee socket. Their hero. Daniel's features shift back into a suit, into the shape of a person, not a monster. He looks down at Yun. And he tries to say it. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-" He starts. But he did mean it. This was just another Todoh-Ryuu Technique, the same kind of he would have used when he was a man. Why would now be any different. And yet, that scream of pain rattles inside his spirit, his soul. The pleasure of it, he temptation. He reaches for the amulet, the lantern. IT was still working, right? And it was. It was, though there was nothing to feed from. He tucks it away, and steps back, as the medical staff descends on Yun. "I'm... Thank you for the good fight, Yun?"

And then the slow applause comes.

A patter patter of encouragement and delight of their hero the Ladykiller. In their eyes, he was not a vilalin. He was never the villain. He was their hero. Daniel realized it. He realized in their hollow eyes, that he was their hero. He would be their hero. He would be their hope. Daniel looks at the broken teenager, and then, to the sign of the resteraunt. The fight is called. ANd Daniel doesn't disappear this time, no. He sticks his hands into his pockets, and stares into the crowd. Steadily, he walks into the crowd, walks amongst his fans. His supporters. His followers. After a moment, the crowd disperses.

And Daniel is nowhere to be seen.

COMBATSYS: Daniel has ended the fight here.
