Match of the Millennium

Description: The Neo League is back in business. In an epic showdown of fists vs. feet. Neo League Runner Up, Aranha takes on a former boxing champion, Steve Fox in a brutal showdown on the London Bridge. (Winner: Aranha)

[ARANHA]
Things had been quiet for Aranha since his appearance in the Neo League finals against Mike Bison. It had also been quiet for the Neo League as well. Most of the would be participants had been occupied with this year's King of Fighters. Between the severely reduced fighter pool and the lack of attention due to KoF being the bigger event, the league just opted to stay quiet for the time being. With the King of Fighters now coming to a close, it was a perfect opportunity for the Neo League to return to prominence.

Aranha had signed up for the season of the Neo League and not even a day passed by before he received a call from the execs inviting him to fight in London on the London Bridge against a newcomer to the league but not to fighting. Another champion boxer. Disappeared after refusing to throw a fight. He was known enough that he could do some scouting but he had to acknowledge it was incomplete information since he didn't know how he would fight with a more open ruleset than boxing.

The capoeirista is punctual as he arrives to the fight location decked in a denim jacket, black t-shirt, jeans, and ankle boots with a black bandana with spider web motif, and shades covering his eyes. He's calm and quiet as he waits for his opponent to arrive.

[STEVE]
Desiring to expand his horizons beyond just fighting in the boxing ring, plus, not wanting to show his face there after what happened. Led him to signing up for a match in the Neo League.

The idea of having to fight a completely unfamiliar foe in the form of the kick-based martial art Capoeira gives Steve a pit in his stomach as he arrives at the familiar London bridge Dressed in his usual boxing garb. Blue and red satin trunks, with brightly-colored boots of the same color, steve clenches his fists under the familiar feeling of his red boxing gloves as he prepares for battle.

[ARANHA]
The denim clad capoeirista smiles as his opponent arrives. And with that he enters the area cleared out for their fight by balancing himself in a handstand on the metal barrier before performing a spin and then landing in the fight area. He has to put on a show after all.

With that, he goes into ginga, swaying from side to side. When Steve gets inside as well and indicates his readiness to fight, the official will signal for the fight to begin!

Seeing his opponent go into a fighting pose, Steve takes one last deep breath trying to evade his Nervousness as he he goes into Orthodox stance.
"Good luck mate"

Wanting to play it safe and observe his opponent, Steve sends out a simple left hook aimed at the capoeirista's head!

As the left hook comes in, the capoeirista brings up his right arm to take the impact of the hook as he moves with it into a cartwheel motion. A fraction of a second after his hands touch the ground, he snaps his right foot down upon the boxer's head from the handstand position before continuing the cartwheel motion back to his feet.

The smile is still plastered on his face as he responds. "Same to you, homie."

The cartwheel motion catches Steve off-guard before the kick comes from above. He puts his right arm above his head, dampening the force of the kick by using his gloved hand to interrupt the foot. Steve instantly transitions into attempting to slam his left fist into his opponent's stomach.

The Dancing Spider goes back into ginga, the boxer's response is fast enough he doesn't quite have a chance to set his feet. As a result, he gets smashed in the stomach before he even has a chance to dodge the punch to the breadbasket. A punch he might have otherwise dodged.

The capoeirista feels the wind get knocked out of him and takes a deep breath as he stumbles backwards. He then throws himself at the boxer as he swings a roundhouse kick, followed by spinning jump kick and finishing with a back flip as he drives his foot down upon his head. Each of the kicks sheathed in blue energy to bolster the impact of those kicks.

[STEVE]
The boxer gains a quick boost in morale seeing his opponent reel back. However, in the blink of an eye the Spider is back on him as the roundhouse comes bursting in. Steve attempts to put both of his arms in a right guard in front of him, but the chi-enhanced kick smashes through his guard as he is disoriented by the massive impact. He has no time to react as Aranha jumps up and lets loose a spinning kick, hitting him in the head full-on. The Back-flip kick is topping on the bloody pie as crashes down on the back of his head, slamming him into the granite and cracking the ground in the process.

Steve spits out a glob of blood as he gets back on his feet. Disoriented but still ready to fight, he leaps towards the dancer as his fist bursts to action with an overhead motion, slamming down towards foe's head.

Aranha nods as he feels the final impact of the kick smash down upon the boxer. He refuses to stay still. A still capoeirista is often a battered capoeirista. Instead, he continues to press the attack and when Steve delivers the looping overhand, Aranha cuts an angle and lets the gloved hand connect with his shoulder just as his elbow slashes across the boxer's jaw almost simultaneously.

That initial elbow is not the end. He slashes across the jaw with the other elbow before suddenly dropping low to shoot for a double leg takedown and then springing back to his feet. He takes a breath and then he's back to performing the swaying dance that is the signature of his particular martial art.

[STEVE]
Steve feels like he is being toyed with as his face gets slammed in and as quickly as he rose to his feet, the takedown promptly sends him back into the gravel. He needs to pull out something big if he wants to regain the momentum.
He rises to his feet with a dangerous swaying motion, bobbing his head in a 8-pattern with almost unnatural quickness. He takes a second to build up speed before smashing his fists towards the Spider's upper body 5 times. Devastating wide hooks with a dangerous amount of weight and force behind them.

Aranha observes the swaying motion. It's at that point that Aranha gets the sense that something bad is about to happen. As the speed picks up, Aranha gets that sense of, maybe not impending doom but impending pain. The capoeiristaupon seeing that first punch realizes he can't do anything about those punches. Those heavy punches knock him around like he was a volleyball and when the onslaught stops, he's on the ground slightly dazed.

He works his way back up to his feet and rolls his neck before stepping back towards Steve and he whips a kick upwards as he leans back to plant a hand on the ground. The momentum of the kick is utilized to flip him up and over his hand and ideally put himself out of the range of the boxer's punches.

The british boxer positions his arm in such a way that the kick from below slides off his arm, the force mostly avoided.

As the Spider flips back. Steve does not want to lose his momentum and quickly chases after him, bursting forwards and ducking low to the ground as his fists approaches his opponent's chin with a short uppercut.

COMBATSYS: Aranha dodges Steve's Fox Hunt.

Aranha had been moving fast before. The Dancing Spider was now moving even faster than that. The boxer continues to chase after the capoeirista with that low dash and when that uppercut comes in, Aranha goes into a back handspring pulling himself just out of the path of the gloved fist and landing just barely outside of his own kick range.

He then shoots out side kick using the force of the kick itself to slide himself into kick range and target the ribs.

[STEVE]
Steve continues his assault, anticipating the capoeirista's kick and, with another burst of speed jolts his right arm forward in a devastating straight while pushing his body into the kick before it reaches full force. The maneuver worked as the Boxer's right sinks into the face of his opponent.

[ARANHA]
The capoeirista, as he feels kick get jammed before it can reach full extension, realizes he's made a few errors. Some of them being allocations of force at the proper times, some being positioning errors to deal with this particular boxer's movements. As he feels the loss of balance from the forward movement of the boxer right before the fist connects with his face he realizes the gravest error of all, not expecting him to charge in like that.

The shades *SHATTER!*

When he gets up, his blue glowing eyes are completely uncovered and at this point there's no use hiding the unwanted prize he received as a result of his opponent throwing the fight in the Unholy Genesis tourney while he was too unconscious to object.

That speed Aranha had put on came with a price and all he can do is push himself just enough to swing a vicious roundhouse kick across the boxer's face and then violently swinging the kick the other direction to hook around to the back of his neck to yank him face down to the ground. Sluggishness is on the horizon.

[STEVE]
In a split-second decision, Steve decides to take the roundhouse head-on, what he didn't expect however, was for the leg to come back and sweep around his neck before slamming him to the concrete with Immense force. The damage is weighing heaviliy on Steve, and the blow crushed both his ribs and morale.

Even though, he still manages to gain a positional advantage by quickly standing and dashing in, close enough so that the spider's kicks are unable to inflict full damage. He clasps his elbows against the sides of his body, and starts a aggressive barrage by using his upper arm and shoulder muscles to make quick and short blows with incredible tempo, hitting a dozen times within the window of 2 seconds.

Steve peels himself off the ground and while the capoeirista isn't surprised, he was hopeful that the violent kick attack would've ended the fight for keeps. Which means that something nasty was likely incoming. The dash in was impossible to prevent so he goes into damage mitigation, Steve Fox's hands came in too quickly for the Dancing Spider to completely guard against and yes they do slip through.

There's a difference between what the spectators see and what the boxer feels underneath his fist. Where the crowd sees Steve picking the capoeirista apart pretty much at will, Steve feels the capoeirista going limp or rolling slightly with the impact, or just slightly nudging the fist off course so the damage isn't as bad as it could be. In Aranha's opinion, being damaged like that was still not fun.

The capoeirista will now give a nod to the other aspect of his fighting style. He dashes towards the boxer before suddenly darting off to the side to launch himself off the metal barrier to deliver a blue glowing kick. After that, he suddenly becomes a blur as he bounces from barrier to boxer to barrier over and over again as he delivers kicks from a variety angles before dropping to his knee as the fatigue catches up with him.

[STEVE]
A small glimmer of hope radiated through steve as his barrage connected, hoping that attack finally ended the match. But that hope was quickly snuffed out as the Dancing Spider managed to keep standing. Steve knew he wouldn't be able to take another blow, nor dodge the lightning fast attacks he had come to expect from the capoeirista. Only one idea rang through his head. "Take him down with me."

As Aranha darted off that first barrier towards him, he put all of his energy into a last ditch-effort to hit him, speeding up one last time as he attempted to pluck him out of the air with an outstretched arm.

His best wasn't enough however, and as the blue glow of his legs and eyes drew ever closer, Steve realized his arm alone wouldn't be enough to stop an attack like that. The kick hit him like a lightning bolt as his opponent instantly set up for a barrage of those very same kicks. He was tossed around like a ragdoll as he was already unconscious by the third kick. Until finally the barrage stopped and he limply fell to the ground.

[ARANHA]
The traceur stays down on one knee for a few moments even after his opponent collapses to the ground unconscious. He pushed himself hard during this fight and he didn't trust himself to stand until that unwanted prize of his has a chance to work on his body. Wounds opened up by the leather gloves and shards of sunglasses stitch together slowly, the bruises slowly fade away.

The fighter finally rises to his feet and he looks over to the boxer.

"I like you. We gotta do this again some time."
