Match of the Millennium

Description: Mei Lin challenges the top tier ranked fighter from the Neo League, Abigail! Will the stalwart fighter be able to overcome Abigail's might?

[MEI LIN]
Victory without risk is triumph without glory, Mei Lin's father used to say. That one should not fear defeat for defeat is the greatest teacher...

A saying that Mei Lin might have taken up a little too seriously. He had heard of Abigail's feats and display of strength and his decision had been taken. He wanted to face him. When he issued the challenge, the organizers told her 'Are you crazy? Haven't you seen what he did to the others'? Mei Lin smiled. Joke's on them, he can't see. But he would find that out soon enough... If anything, he'll prove to be a good test for his unwavering and steadfast mountain stance.

Which is what lead him to this crowded street for this match. All the blinding neon lights through the street are all but ignored by the young man who casually makes his way in the middle of the street. The young man felt out of place with all the glitter and lights, a dirty looking sort of hobo, shoe-less and dusty feet, ragged oriental clothes on his body.

[ABIGAIL]
It's VEGAS BABY!!

With a monster truck rally set to happen this weekend, Abigail was going to be nowhere else but here. He was a sponsor after all, with one of his latest rigs being put to the test on the field by one of his favorite drives. Plus..Monster Trucks! Who doesn't want to be here for that??

So when Neo League got ahold of him and let him know he had been challenged they were met with a dismissive, "Fine, fine, fine, whatever." And then later, when they called him, "Neo whaaaa??" and then even later when he was at the Truck Show and not at the rally a "Neo Who??!"

But he's come. Unhappy. But here. His personal truck pulls up, rumbling like a semi, bigger than one..and from it he emerges, practically warping and distorting the frame as his ever growing body squeezes its way into view to the gasps and hundreds of phone camera clicks of nearby onlookers. Somewhere a baby probably cries also. Kids got no tastes.

"Alright, I'm here!" he bellows into his own phone which he then crushes between his pinky and thumb and a second later, drops down to the ground to begin thundering forward down the open pavilion. His footsteps shaking the ground wildly and some nearby booths collapsing as he passes.

Was it an earthquake that he felt? Mei Lin can't help but feel it through his feet, the vibrations of the ground that trembles underneath each of his footsteps. He could feel everyone walk in the vicinity, but the sensation of the ground trembling so unsteadily was unsettling. For a moment, the young man seemed disoriented before he realized just what was going on...

He straightens himself up and extends his sense through the ground, finding the source of this relentless quaking that approaches. Each stomp allowing him to feel and see him more clearly, to feel him and his massive form. No matter how much others could have described Abigail to him, mere words couldn't compare to what he felt approaching the open pavilion.

Mei Lin just stares, his gaze raising up as if to admire the massive in all his bulky glory even though it felt like he was day-dreamingly staring at him. "Woah.." Is all that finally comes out of his throat after a moment. What else was there to say?

If he could defeat him, surely that would be an incredible feat. The thought causes his lips to curl into a grin, "Ready to bite the dust?" He says trying to display a sort of faux confidence.

[ABIGAIL]
"Huh?" Abigail settles his gaze upon Mei Lin and blinks a few times as he draws closer, clearly looking confused for a second or two.

"Are you the one that's dragged me out here?" He places both hands on his hips and just stares for a few more seconds before shaking his head.

"This is the third freakin' kid that I've had to beat up in less then two months... What's going on here.." He scratches the back of his head, "People are gonna think I'm a psychopath or something if this keeps up! Don't tell me you're another one of Rainbow Dashes friends.."

Shaking his head, he settles into his own version of a combat 'stance' .. which is really just him widening his legs slightly and resting his arms against his immense flanks, fingers twitching and a grin that is a mixture of bemused and mildly annoyed on his features, "Alright kid, let's get this over with. I got a rally to get back to!"

The young man blinks a few times, "Rainbow who?" He asks, arching a brow. Mei Lin shakes his head as he assumes his own combat stance : knees bent and his legs spread wide. "No idea who you are talking about... But don't let my size fool you -- I can endure much more than what you'd expect..." If anything, Mei Lin's words were sincere and his posture displayed his confidence in his skills.

When Abigail speaks up, Mei Lin nods in agreement and he opens the hostility by slamming his foot against the ground which causes a small tremor akin to when Abigail walks. It causes a large chunk of the pavilion's floor to burst up and Mei Lin spins on his heel to kick it in Abigail's direction, each step he takes to get closer to Abigail causing similar junk of debris to rise from the ground and leaving holes on the fighting floor as Mei Lin hurls them at him by kicking and punching them in his direction.

"What the--" The first rock slams right into Abigail's face and he raises his massive arm up to sweep out at the next barrage of debris, scattering it wildly and sending pieces spiraling off into different displays. The organizers are going to have their work cut out for them in terms of damage control when this particular match is over with.

"What is this? Some sort of magic mumbo, jumbo??" he grumbles before suddenly taking off in a slow run for Mei Lin. "Vroom, Vroom, Vroom, Vroom, Vroom!!!" he roars, each footfall more pounding and violent then the last until, aft the last second, he twists at the waist and then spins and sends his massive fist hurtling forward at the other fighter.

The young man smiles when his technique seems to surprise the giant fighter, "Just wait you haven't seen it all yet," The way Abigail dashes to him and roars with his step to foretell his attack was a blessing for Mei Lin who has time to come up with a proper defense. When he dashes in close, he lifts his arms up in the air and causes a mass of debris and junks from the ground's tiles, scrap metals and all sort of frail ceramics to rise up in a sort of feeble wall in front of him to block and stop Abigail's mighty fist.

... Except this barrier easily shatters into dozens of pieces as Abigail's fist breaks through it like it was butter and smashes right into Mei Lin behind it. Had it been soil eart that could have hardened or rock, perhaps it might have worked better but now it proved to be a rather weak defense.

The powerful punch knocks the smaller fighter off his feet, sending him flying a good dozens of feet away, rolling into his back a couple of time as he tries to find his footing and stops all this kinetic energy that was transferred into him.

Dazed by the few rolls he made, Mei Lin has one arm clutched against his side where his fist hit him and he coughs in pain, attempting to regain his breath. "Kyaaa!" He shouts as he stomps the ground hard and causes a ripple through the ground that quickly makes up the distance between two like a lightning on the ground. The moment it gets close enough to Abigail, sturdy and hard rock spike bursts out like the earth was trying punch Abigail's midsection.

"This reminds me of something.." rumbles the gargantua as he plods forward after Mei, not even stopping as the stone spikes erupt up from the earth and go slamming into his midsection. His huge body staggers but then the spikes begin to crackle, distort and then finally shatter into pieces as Abigail thunders forward through them with heavy plodding footfalls.

"Hrngh.. yeah that. Oh yeah! There was this ninja that threatened me and my crew in Metro City!"

The giant suddenly lunges ahead and then leaps - in mid leap he actually flips, surprisingly acrobatic really, and then descends with both colosssal hands clasped together and bearing down towards Mei Lin and the general area around him like an incoming meteor.

The pillar of earth was hardly able to stagger Abigail or even hinder him in the least. Mei Lin's opponent was truly unwavering like the mountain, a hulking behemoth. Fortunately he has the time to rise back to his knee and regain his composure before Abigail assaults him once more and...

He disappears.

Not literally, but for Mei Lin, when the giant jumps in the air, it was akin to him disappearing. It happened more often than not, Mei Lin knew what it meant -- that he most likely leapt at him but managing to anticipate the landing was the hard part. As of sort, he just sort of stands there, staring blankly in front of him even though his face betrayed his focus, his eyes displayed something else entirely.

... And unfortunately, he had not anticipated properly, not even reacting when his massive fists crash down into him and smash him into the ground.

The impact was so hard that it causes the ground to shatter and form a large crater where Abigail landed. The pressure on the smaller man causes him to collapse on the ground, with a loud high pitched screech of pain. Slowly he forces himself on his knees, coughing out blood on the cracked ground. He closes his eyes and tries to steady his breathing, to control the pain he felt.

Mei Lin lifts his hands up and uses his connection to the ground to manipulate it, causing a tremor in the ground that causes it to wave like water. The tension causes it to shatter and crack all around, allowing Mei Lin to manipulate the debris of metal, ceramic and concrete more easily. Much like a tsunami, a wave of debris attempts to topple over the giant and make him lose his footing and bury him underneath it all, hopefully smashing him with the sheer weight of all the rubbles and junks.

"Geeeezus!" It seems Abigail was clearly not expecting that. He rolls to his feet and kippups only to see Freemont itself bearing down on him. Startled by this, he puts up no defense, or is at least to slow to put up a defense that matters, and the street rushes over him and pulls him under with a defeaning crash and a rumble that trips off seismometers elsewhere in the city.

For a second or two all is calm, granting the illusion that the fight is over with a sudden come back by Mei. It's a false illusion as the earth begins rocking violently and then Abigail explodes back out of it, sending a crater widening wildly through the area with his immense body at the epic center. He turns beet red, steam gouting out from his nostrils and ears and huge form actually seeming to grow even larger as his muscles bulk up, rending his tattered shirt and truly transforming him into a mountain of sinew.

Mei Lin's attack left him panting -- manipulating such a large amounth of debris and junk required a vigorous amount of effort but the result was well worth it. The young man staggers back a few steps and while the calm moments before of the storm left every breathless, Mei Lin was able to feel the slight vibration coming from the pile of rocks before Abigail bursts out of it all.

The young man assumes his combat stance, knees bent and thighs spread wide. Hopefully, before Abigail can realize just what is going on, Mei Lin will have the chance to strike him. He dashes at him, the small fighter charging the goliath and he tries to deliver a swift and brutal kick to Abigail's shin. It might have been more effective if Abigail had a more normal size, for others it might almost look like a sort of desperate kick.

A loud *BOOOOM* thunders across the area. Blowing out windows, shaking the ground and causing the very earth to sunder. The source is Abigail having lifted himself out of the debris crater he was in, lunging into a leap and then sending both of his legs plummeting out towards Mei Lin to impact in a thunderous dropkick so immense that a shockwave ripples out away from the two fighters.

Abigail drops back to the ground, landing on his sides and causing another mini seismic event though he roars out, "KABOOM!!" just before landing.

[MEI LIN]
Nothing stops you harder than getting hit by something just as thick and wide as your own body, if not more and hard as concrete. It doesn't help the fact that there's always a milli-second of delay for Mei Lin before he realizes exactly what just hit him when someone jumps around like that... Something he wasn't expecting much from someone as massive as Abigail.

The massive impact that causes windows to shatter all around is so powerful that it breaks through the ground of the stage and knocks Mei Lin through layers of concrete all the way down to underground parkings spot where all of a sudden, dozens of junks of concrete fall down into a car as well as the small and lighter frame of Mei Lin who crashes into a car and utterly destroys it in the process.

For all those who were watching with and witnesses this it felt like Mei Lin had just disappeared, as if Abigail's powerful smash at torn him asunder literally or that he was absorbed in him or something like that.

The ground was barely holding itself, but the structure collapsed on itself and prevented more debris from falling in the underground parking spot.

As for Mei Lin... He has no idea where he ends up being, it felt like he ended up knocked into another dimension as his senses just tells him nobody's around any longer. His pride allows him to stand out of the car, just barely enough strength to hold him, take a few steps and just collapses, lack of being able to find his opponent in time, unable to control the pain that left his body numb.

"Good job!!" booms Abigail with true sincerity despite his talent for sarcasm and roasting opponents verbally. He slams his massive fiss into his chest a few times, producing King Kong like building shaking *BOOMS* before rumbling, "Looks like I got more horsepower, but that almsot a dead heat!"

He points a massive finger at Mei Lin, "Work on that engine and get some more horsepower and tune it up and then we can talk!"

Rolling his immense shoulders, he turns and begins to thunder away. Time for Neo League to deal with the damage control.
