Neo League 0120 - NL#0130: Koto vs Quon

[Toggle Names]

Description: The Neo League decided to shake things up with a last minute arranged fight between Quon Chen and Mega Dragon Fighter J-Dragon. The fight goes to the wire as aspiring actor and sentai seek to test each other in combat and take their next steps towards fame and fortune.

[QUON]
Classes have let out and Neo League matchmaking has done it again. In the case of Quon, it couldn't have happened soon enough since he was a University student and books are expensive as all get out. At the tail end of one of his classes he gets a text saying that his next opponent would be at Neo*Geo Land in Southtown. He spent his final moments in class tapping his feet in anxious anticipation of the fight.

When classes were over, he called for a cab to pick him up and when he finally arrives it's with a backpack slung on his shoulder as he exits the cab and rushes to get to his impromptu fight.

Due to the last minute nature of this fight, one would thing that it wouldn't be highly attended but it has a huge crowd. More than likely the crowd, was due to kids deciding to go to the arcade after school and luckily being able to spectate.

Quon meanwhile decides to warm up and stretch before looking both the official and his opponent.

[KOTO]
Koto had arrived in his more civilian, student attire. Like Quon, classes had just reached the right time out for him to arrive pretty quickly. And oddly, he doesn't look much like a fighter in the civvies and all.

Then he slides his feet to a stance, one foot behind him and the other having a bent knee slightly before he moves his hands to either side of his waist and then the left in front of him as he calls out, "HENSHIN!"

A prismatic aura surrounds him, leaving him in a costume of some sort as he stands and makes a few more motions, stopping with his hand near his face and index and middle finger up, with the thumb making a curve of a J. "Mega Dragon Fighter J-Dragon, ready!"

Probably one of the odder fighters, but well... a league match is a league match, right?

[QUON]
Quon on the other hand normally has to decided between civilian attire and civilian martial arts practitioner attire. Due to the improvisational nature of this matchup, his martial arts attire is still in his dorm. Leaving him with the vanilla clothing of t-shirt, vest, and black denim jeans.

When he spots the sentai transformation, he raises an eyebrow.

"Well that's different. That probably saves on laundry bills."

He bows to the sentai and takes his stance.

"Let's hope we can give these people a decent show."

His lips curl into a bit of a smile as he looks at the official and waits for them to start the fight.

[KOTO]
Koto gives a nod, "It does, sometimes." He comments as he prepares himself for the fight. Noticeably the mouth portion of his helmet doesn't move as he speaks.

Glancing at the officialy, Koto gives a nod as he slides into his own stance. Something like a standard kick boxers, but lower. As if he is ready to stay pretty stable and ready to move as he glances at the official by a slight turn of his head and waits for the start.

J-Dragon is definitely on the scene, ready, and looking pretty intensely ready to get moving even in the bright lights of Neo*Geo Land.

With the official's signal to begin, Koto starts things off with a quick spin kick aimed at Quon's side as he tries to get things off with a bit of a bang.

Koto's hands stay up to guard his head, even as he tries to watch to see what Quon might start off with from the start of the match.

COMBATSYS: Quon blocks Koto's Spin Kick.

[QUON]
Upon receiving the signal, Quon moves forward as if he was about to attack his sentai suit wearing opponent however, Mega Dragon Fighter J-Dragon was a maybe a fraction of a second faster. This forces Quon to adjust his footwork to hold his ground as he turns towards the spin kick and takes the impact on his arms with a slight grunt.

Quon then watches how the other fighter recovers from his kick. As he does so, he delivers a kick to the calf muscle as an attempt to interfere with his foundation before quickly following with a double palm strike to the torso bolstered by water chi.

COMBATSYS: Quon successfully hits Koto with Immovable Mountain.

[KOTO]
Feeling the kick, Koto's foundation is easily disrupted, and despite his bringing his hands up to block he finds himself pushed back and his steps change his stance. Instead of the tighter stance, he flows to a different, more open stance with his legs wider as his hands shift to being looser instead of tighter fists.

Then he seems to consider before moving his arms in what almost seems like a mimicing of waves before bringing them to his waist and swinging them upwards in a cross arm from being fully extended as he calls out, "Dragon Flame Swipe!"

And the call apparently wasn't just for show, either. Flames of a prismatic hue launch from his hands, colored almost like a rainbow themselves as they launch in a wide arc towards Quon himself.

COMBATSYS: Quon just-defends Koto's Dragon Flame Swipe!!

[QUON]
Quon draws back his hands as he returns to his stance, highly stable as if he was planning to hold his ground. As Koto changes his stance, Quon takes a step forward to keep his opponent from having too much breathing room. It was a decision that pays off since Quon deflects both of the swipes keeping it from fully forming into the arcs that would ideally would be traveling towards him. Instead, the rainbow flames travel harmlessly to the ground.

He then pivots on his rear leg before delivering a rapid fire series of kicks moving so fast that to the untrained eye, it looked as though he was delivering kicks in five places at once.

COMBATSYS: Koto blocks Quon's Seven Dragon Tails.

[KOTO]
At the kicks, Koto brings his arms around, palm striking them away from him or letting them slide off his arms to other angles, even one is blocked with a fierce knee push as he switches stances again to the more tighter stance. "Oh? A fellow kicker, huh?"

"Two can play at that!" Prismatic energy glows around his back leg before he unleashes what has to be a pretty fierce looking roundhouse at Quon. Fast enough that it even seems to leave a trail of the energy, although the kick is a bit odd in that it leads with the knee instead of the shin, which snaps it out at the last half of the arc to unleash it. "THUNDER KICK!"

The craziness of it is that even if it doesn't hit, it unleashes what sounds like thunder just from when it stops for that matter. Not to mention the slight explosion of the prismatic energy, whatever that is.

COMBATSYS: Quon interrupts Thunder Kick from Koto with Moving the Mountain.

[QUON]
When his kicking foot barely touches the ground, he skips forward which in turn brings himself into closer range. Just in time since it would appear that Koto had tightened his guard. Well that, and spoke about his intention to kick. He can see that glowing back leg and as it rises up, Quon leans towards Koto with his hands sheathed in aquatic chi as he extends them towards his opponent. Both of Quon's fists connect with the torso at the same time as when Koto's foot connects with Quon's body. A geyser of water erupts from his fists shoving Koto away as the sound of thunder can be heard. Quon hits the ground on his back and quickly scrambles to his feet, not comfortable with the idea of being in a prone position for particularly long periods of time.

The college student takes a moment to rub his ribcage a bit in pain before he slides back into Chongquan's stance. He says with a pained expression on his face, "You weren't kidding about being able to kick."

[KOTO]
The high school student turned costume hero shrugs, "This'll be worse." He comments.

A large, glowing symbol appears on the floor behind him, spread out. The only part really visible to Quon is the large wings attached to whatever it is. Then he leaps skywards. Impossibly high skywards as he comes down towards Quon, with all the energy in that symbol going straight to BOTH legs as he launches down an axe kick. "RAIJIN RYU!"

And then follows it up with a second kick by backflipping automatically it seems. Not to mention both of those kicks are leaving that thundering sound. Seriously, that has to smart. And apparently Koto is pulling out all the stops in using whatever style he has as far as kicks are concerned!

COMBATSYS: Quon blocks Koto's Raijin Ryu.

[QUON]
The sentai's promise of whatever is coming next will be worse was not exactly encouraging. With it not even connecting cleanly it still hurt a lot. This incoming onslaught will be worse. The Chongquan practitioner takes a breath and braces for the worse.

As the prismatic kick descends upon him, Quon brings his forearms up in a cross block as the impact drives him down to his knees. The following backflip kick while caught on the forearm sends him rolling backwards. In order to appeal to the crowd, Quon performs a back handspring to give himself more room to get his feet back under him and sort of reset.

After getting his balance back, he rushes back in before launching himself at Koto with a Superman punch right to the jaw. His forearms and shoulder will be aching from those two kicks for awhile.

COMBATSYS: Koto blocks Quon's Strong Punch.

[KOTO]
Bringing his arm up as his stance slides again to the more open one and his hands loosen a bit, as he shifts his stance after blocking the incoming punch with a rising forearm block.

Bringing his hand around as his stance slides into that open stance once again, he sends a fierce palm aimed at Quon's midsection before shifting to the side, stepping around instead of back or forward in shifting steps.

Then he shifts to a bit lower, one hand shifted back to be chambered near his waist as the other stays in the same loose, open fist as he moves. It's obvious whatever his styles are, this one seems to be a bit more about something other than those hard hitting kicks as well.

COMBATSYS: Koto successfully hits Quon with Body Blow.

[QUON]
Quon notes the how the stance switches yet again. He doesn't quite get a chance to ready himself figure out how the fight has changed for him before the palm strike connects with his stomach driving the wind from his lungs as his eyes bulge in response. He stumbles away from Koto as he circles around him as he tries to get his breath back.

When he gets himself a little more together he lunges at the sentai costumed fighter, punching him in the face with one hand while grasping the back of his neck. He then places a foot on his hip as he falls backwards, using the backward roll's momentum to launch Koto away from him. If Quon doesn't manage that initial grab, he'll just roll away from him as he performs hit and runs.

COMBATSYS: Koto interrupts Combo Grapple from Quon with Crane Swipes Fish.

Quon             2/<<<<<<</<<<<<<<|=====--\-------\0             Koto

[KOTO]
The initial hit to the head is blocked with a hand swinging upwards, the other swinging down low to block the incoming kick despite the knee as Koto pushes Quon away quickly. That wide, open stance giving him a lot of stability as he comments, "Crane Swipes Fish." The odd part about the defensive movements is it's a two pronged block that swings out, then circles around to put himself back in the same stance as before even as he continues to circle slowly.

Koto himself seems to be breathing a bit heavier, but otherwise is intent on watching Quon's movements it seems. Preparing himself to block, step, or somehow turn things to his advantage as much as he can. Which is probably saying something for whatever discipline he has.

The hit and runs are met with similiar two pronged block and strikes as he continues to move in that circle to stay out of any direct line of fire for the moment.

[QUON]
Quon doesn't manage the punch, doesn't manage the grab around the back of the neck, and doesn't quite manage any type of roll to give himself any room. In fact the only thing that manages to give him room is that pair of high impact blocks.

Quon, in spite of his leg aching from the two prong block, takes to the air and then descends feet first as he stomps down upon Koto's head repeatedly, alternating between feet before shoving him away with both sneaker clad feet as he flips away. If successful, it would make one hell of a fight highlight.

COMBATSYS: Quon successfully hits Koto with Breaking the Shell.

[KOTO]
Despite his attempts to block it overhead, Koto isn't sure how to deal with that it seems as he can only make sure that he isn't going to end up too brain damaged. As Quon flips away, though, he might notice something. Koto's stance shifted again. And there's that big prismatic symbol under them.

At least this time, it's highly visible. A large dragon's head with a pair of wings stretched to either side and it looks to be charging up Koto's fists instead of his legs as he turns towards where Quon is coming down a bit unsteadily. On his last legs, perhaps, Koto brings the charged up hand back before sending a fast, glowing prismatic fist at Quon in an attempt to just punch him away possibly. "DRAAAAGON PUUUNCH!"

The snapping punch even has a twist to it as he aims to put as much impact into the punch as possible despite horrendously overextending himself a bit, and knowing that he might slightly miss it. The sheer explosion of energy, however, does look pretty impressive!

COMBATSYS: Koto successfully hits Quon with Dragon Punch.

[QUON]
It seems as though Koto has stymied Quon's ability to commit to hit and run tactics in the tail end of the fight. The flip away was designed to give him room when he needed room but that prismatic punch comes in too fast and too hard for the Hong Kong born student to avoid and he's taken clear off of his feet.

Quon slowly brings himself back up to his feet and slowly wobbles and stumbles his way back into his kicking range. He forces his mind to focus long enough to begin kicking. Koto will recognize how this starts off. A series of rapid fire kicks that looks like his feet are in three places at once. But his foot goes faster. Three feet become five. He switches feet and delivers more and more snap kicks. Five feet become seven. And then the kicking stops as he finishes with a wild haymaker that will send him face down to the ground.

COMBATSYS: Quon can no longer fight.

[KOTO]
And in a rarity for Neo-League... well... Koto tries to block the incoming attacks. His hands move fiercely to block, trying vainly to not end up being kicked but several get through. And the wild haymaker... yeah, that ends it.

Probably one hell of a rarity, but it looks like a double KO completely on both sides even as he punches at Quon back.

COMBATSYS: Koto takes no action.
