Match of the Millennium

Description: It was supposed to be a Neo League riot that would see Maxima face off against Makoto Nanaya. Whatever the reason the reason the latter could not make the fight and a replacement had to be found quickly and they found it in the A List action Johnny Cage. The two clash as Maxima looks to keep from falling in the standings in the Neo League while Johnny looks to make a quick mark by defeating one of the top contenders.

[MAXIMA]
A special attraction of a match has been set. One that was not only a fight for SNF, but also to promote the Neo League which is coming towards the end of the season. One of the fighters doing well has been the cyborg known as Maxima. While he was seen often at the start of the league he has been hiding out recently. It is hard to say where he has been or what he has been up to, but he has decided to make his presence known in Australia for this fight.

"Hmm? Change of opponent?" he asks when an official approaches him. He was supposed to be fighting some woman named Makoto Nanaya that he wasn't too familiar with, but it seems she could not make it and officials found someone to take her place. "Whatever works. I'll fight anyone."

It is the stage of the Sydney Opera House that has been set up to allow the fighters to have plenty of room to fight and hopefully not cause too much damage. Forward the cyborg moves onto the stage when he is introduced and he calmly looks about as he cricks his neck. "Good crowd." he says to himself for a smirk and he folds his arms while waiting to see who the replacement fighter is.

"Prepare Yourself."

The voice comes across whatever announcement speakers have been set up in the Sydney Opera House. Either these were already there or they were added by the people of the fighter that's coming to the stage right about now.

"Prepare Yourself."

There it is again. This time accompanied by the most annoying techno background music that's leading the way as the new challenger seems to be arriving... from above. That's right, there's a platform lowering itself from above and standing right dead center of the platform, in a pair of black jeans, a green t-shirt and a black leather jacket, is the man that everybody knows. That everybody loves. That everybody wants to be.

JOHNNY CAGE.

Adoring fans that are here and observing or watching video feeds get to see that perfect Cage smile and those cool as hell sunglasses that he's just known for wearing. He even takes a moment to offer a wave or two, maybe even some of those waves are sent towards the opponent.

When the platform finally lands and Johnny Cage hops off, the music starts to fade and Johnny just stands there. Looking as fly as he wants to be.

"Alright, I just want you to know, I turned my private jet around for this." Johnny Cage grins in Maxima's general direction while shifting his jacket on his shoulders and stretching his arms out a bit. "So at least /try/ to keep up, huh?"

There was no real bravado for Maxima when he came out. His size alone as well as skill is all he needs when it comes to reputation. He has also been known to take on all comers and it seems his opponent tonight is at least full of flash when the music starts to play and the platform lowers. Maxima just remains quiet and his head tilts slightly as Johnny Cage soon comes into sight and steps off the platform.

"Hmm." the cyborg's systems are already scanning the actor/fighter and figuring out his combat capabilities. "Well at least you don't seem to be all an act." He quietly says once his analysis is done. If the readings are correct this is going to be something of a challenge and he is more than fine with that.

"I am sure I can do that." he says with an amused look. There is the sound of something powering up as Maxima's battle systems start to go online. There is a hiss as steam is released from his vapour cannons. "Well if you are busy don't let me delay you further." He raises a hand and makes a 'come on' motion.

Johnny Cage steps over to the side where some of the crowd has gathered. Just long enough to find one of the hottest chicks available in the first wave of people. He pulls off his sunglasses and grins at her, taking a moment to hook them in the valley of the deep v-neck shirt that she's wearing. It is, of course, a 'Cage Me' shirt. "I'll be back for these later." Johnny says before turning to head back to where the fight's going to go down. "And the glasses too." he adds over his shoulder.

There's a dedicated two step and then a leap that has Johnny Cage smacking down, sneakers first, onto the fighter's stage and he cracks those knuckles. His head tilts to the side as he regards all the crazy sound effects coming from his opponent. He grins, though, as a show of good faith and teasing as he brings his hands up and slides into his latest fighting stance.

"Just so I know, when I finish kickin' your ass, should I call for an ambulance or a tow truck?" Some more teasing banter before he breaks off into a brisk run and aims a stiff kick towards the chest area of this manchine.

Testing his metal, perhaps?

Maxima is at least a patient man. He is letting Johnny get his time in with the ladies before just giving a slight smile when there is an offer for the ambulance or a tow truck. "I think I can handle myself. Here is to a good fight." he says in reply. He is more a man of action instead of using words. Johnny probably can do enough talking for the both of him.

Johnny is quick to start. He closes the distance and takes a leap forward to deliver that kick to Maxima and the cyborg just steps forward while bringing an arm back. That foot slams into the chest and it does feel like he just kicked the side of a car or something. At the same time there might be more give if he kicked the car. It barely staggers Maxima who is already qickly making his counter attack before Johnny can realize what is going on.

That big fist of Maxima slams into Johnny before he has a chance to get away, a powerful upwards strike looking to lift Johnny upwards before there is a hiss again and release a big blast of steam that has enough force to fire Johnny up and away from Maxima. He takes back up his fighting stance and says nothing. He just waits to see what Johnny does next.

"Oh shit."

That's the response from Johnny Cage when his foot hits metal that doesn't move. Hitting cars used to be painful. Back when cars were steel. Now all this damn hard plastic has so much give. But kicking Maxima is not like kicking either of those things. Oh no. This hurts like hell. But even Johnny manages to hold it in. No way is he going to show pain after his first attempt at taking this fool out.

No, the showing of pain comes with the mega-fisted punch of hell that slams into him like he was freaking target locked. His body rocks right into the air, blood comes out of his mouth and off his face all in the same fluid motion. He's airborne for at least a few seconds as he sails backwards and through the air to slam into the platform he rode in on. Something cracks painfully and Johnny Cage is a bit slower to get up than usual. But still, he rises. And once back on his feet, he staggers away from the platform and shakes off the possible dizzy spell from being rocked so hard.

"Alright. That was fun. I think I like where this is goin'."

Johnny moves like the wind, speeding towards Maxima and drops to his knees in an attempt to slide past him. But only for a moment, because he spins right back around and flips up and backwards from his crouched position, extending one foot after the other, aiming them both for Maxima on his way up. His stylishly done flip kick being snapshotted and recorded by the crowd, most definitely.

Time for Johnny to pull out those A-List moves!

There is just a nod from the cyborg when Johnny speaks. He has to give the actor/fighter props for the fact he gets up quickly after such a powerful hit. Not to mention he is showing skill to prove he is a legit fighter and his moves in the movies are actually more than just for show.

Where Johnny looks for flash though Maxima looks to keep a slower pace that uses power over speed. A bit boring perhaps? Then again the crowd tends to get more exciteable when the lasers and missiles come out. If Johnny is lucky he won't have to deal with those at least. Maxima rather not do too much damage to a monument such as this one.

Johnny is on the move again and he tries to use his speed to outfox Maxima. It looks like it might just work when he slides down then comes upwards to deliver those double kicks. The cyborg shifts about quickly enough and he brings one arm up to deflect the first then the other arm to deflect the second. He is quick to grasp for Johnny to when he lands to heft him upwards and picks him up.

The idea? To drop Johnny down tailbone first onto his knee in an old school atomic drop some wrestling fans could appreciate. Not only that once releasing Maxima looks to follow it up with a dropkick to the back of Johnny as well.

Johnny Cage is going to have to work on his speed. He's not fast enough.

When each of his kicks are blocked he doesn't even have time to react. His eyes bug out, perhaps even in frustration or something, because it's the next moment that makes him feel like he's fighting a brick wall. A brick wall with enough strength to crush a mountain. There's a groan and winceful combination with the tailbone practically shatters against Maxima's knee. The follow up is so quick that Cage only has time to hear something crack with both of Maxima's feet dropkick him dead center in his back. He flies forward, crashes into a random railing and feels the pain. Two-fold.

It's a staggering struggle when Cage pushes away from the railing to try and stay on his feet. Blood still dripping from his mouth, Cage is nothing but smiles. He loves a good fight. Even one he's not winning. It's about the moves and the action. Victory is nice but lookin' fly is so much nicer.

Cage drops low again when he's within range of the Maxima, his sneakers crossing the area in short order. He extends an arm, green chi swallowing up his fist as he rises to try and catch the metal man with a chi-full uppercut! Strong enough to maybe even send Maxima airborne! To which, Cage is ready with the follow up, going airborne himself and flipping forward to bring that same A-List kicking action back into the mix, just with a little more 'kick 'em back down to the ground' style points.

If anything the fight seems to have turned the ladies in the audience against Maxima. Not that it really matters to the cyborg. Playing to the audience can be fun, but like Johnny he is one that enjoys a good fight. Win or lose it gives him experience and his battle systems get more combat data to work off of so he can improve himself as a fighter as well as tweak his cybernetics to improve performance.

Johnny is also a tenacious one that looks like he isn't going to give up for now. He comes forward again and Maxima steps forward right into that uppercut that slams into his chin. There is a cracking noise and it seems Maxima's head is one of the few parts not made of metal as he is launched upwards. The kick slams into him to send him back down, but he adjusts to land in a crouch.

He bursts forward out of that crouch to meet Johnny when he lands. The hiss of a vapour cannon being heard as he looks to slam his right fist right into the chest of Johnny and release another blast to knock him away.

The moment Cage lands there's no time to celebrate because Maxima is already on him. Catching the full on fist in the chest, Cage gets sent sprawling backwards. Both from the impact and that freaking vapour blast of doom. It's a combination that Cage remembers quite well from a few punches ago. The pain is almost more of the same but it actually seems to hurt even worse this time around. His body has already been through the ringer a couple times.

There's a crunch that comes from Cage's body smacking into a wall and falling off. The dent that he leaves is at least as sexy as a dent is going to get. The struggle to get to his feet is even longer than before but Johnny Cage is not one to give up. Not when there's breath left in his body.

It takes Johnny a moment to get back within punching range of Maxima and when he does, he spits out a bit of blood and pulls his jacket off. "Maybe I shoulda' stayed on the plane." Even Johnny can admit when he's getting his ass kicked and that's said as a show of respect. His hands come back up and make a couple fists, before he just all out rushes Maxima and unleashes a holy mcjeebus level of punches, kicks and knees in an attempt to just... brutalize the cyborg. And try to catch up because DAMN he's hurting.

If anything Maxima at least gives Johnny time to recover and get back up. He gives a faint shake of his head when he hears the comment about staying on the plane. "Don't say that. Every fight is a learning experience. I have been ripped in half, almost incinerated to where there was barely anything left of me and lost some of my limbs. That is how I learned to get stronger and to survive." He pauses. "Hopefully you don't experience any of those things." he quickly adds.

He stands his ground and watches Johnny come at him. His body grows warmer as it almost looks like flames are starting to appear around the cyborg when Johnny draws closer. He starts going for the mass of strikes. It pushes Maxima back, but it is hard to tell how much damage it is doing because right now Maxima just gives a bit of a smirk instead of any sort of pained look.

He then surges forward into a big bear hug as he leaps upwards and then comes down to just tackle Johnny hard into the ground. The flames are painful, but not actual fire so Johnny is at least spared second or third degree burns. He can't exactly avoid making another Johnny shaped dent in the floor of the opera house though when Maxima slams him down before letting go and stand back up.

Cage needs an actual breather after all those punches and kicks. He actually, for the first time this entire short fight, looks slightly frustrated when he sees the smirk on Maxima's face.

"Seriously?"

His hands drop for just a moment of letting himself show some sort of emotion. And maybe that's a sign of defeat. Or maybe he's just tired from all those BRUTALITY attempts. But it's enough of an opening for Maxima to get the upper hand. Again.

The tackle is enough to crunch what's left of Johnny Cage's physical ability. Sprinkle on some flames of ass kickery and the fact that he's being smashed into the floor of this beautiful opera house and Johnny Cage is in bad shape.

The Fighting Spirit within, though, it only seems to bubble up more. Becoming more visible as a green glow around Cage's body. It seems to be the only thing that's managing to help him up. Cage has to actually drag himself out of the hole of him that was made and is barely able to stand. "Don't... ugh." Johnny shakes his head to try and see just one Maxima. Just one. "Don't call it a comeback." is finally managed out of his mouth.

It is then that Cage's chi-filled body musters up enough power to slide him towards Maxima with all the speed and style of one of his signature moves. The Shadow Kick is upon Maxima!

Hit or not, Johnny Cage is out of juice. His body just poised for collapsing. A soft utterance of "... definitely should've stayed on the plane." to lead his way into unconsciousness.

Maxima has to give Johnny credit. For someone of his stature he could have easily said no and not take the time to change his flight to take this fight at the last moment. It just wasn't his night. He wasn't prepared and Maxima does have the advantage of his cybernetic enhancements to give a quick readout of a fighter's capabilities.

The kick comes forward and Maxima brings up his arms. The foot slams hard into the forearms and drives the cyborg back about a foot, but it didn't hit as solid as the actor would like. When he slumps over Maxima is showered with a mix of boos and cheers. "Sorry, buddy. At least you have several cute ladies wanting to nurse you back to health."

There is no gloating, but a nod of respect to Johnny even if he might be seeing stars too much to notice it. The cyborg raises his hand in victory and does little more to celebrate. Instead he opts to slip back off out of sight of the crowd.
