Match of the Millennium

Description: Hello Boils and Ghouls, and now for those lucky fighters looking for the right kind of luck can now find it dark and dirty in the late night matches. Tune into the witching hours to check out how even Darkstalkers want to find fighters to team up with. While he once wasn't with the in crowd, Aranha has finally qualified. Aranha can enjoy his new form as he finds himself at a special avenue of Saturday Night Fights: The Midnight Channel. Facing off is a -hell- of an enemy, the infamous Lotus of Lord Jedah, and a mysterious vampire maiden of Eliza. In what is a vicious free for all at the San Giorgio Cathedral, will this finally be the chance for Darkstalkers to join together for the chance to represent monsters in the King of Fighters? [Winner: Eliza]

[LOTUS]
It is midnight in Sicily. Some drone cameras buzz about outside of the San Giorgio Cathedral, as the directors and techs finish doing the ready check to make sure the hardware is working.

Areas for the crowds have been designated and the area roped off for quite some space. However, due to the time of day (and reputation of some of those schedueled to fight), only some of the bravest of souls have dared show up to watch.

A large screen nearby allows those staying away to watch from a safe distance if they so please, and it is on this that the camera zeroes in on a lone figure, crawling down the side of the building head-first. The lights center on it, showing clearly that it is Black Lotus. She stops and peers at the lights for a moment before skittering down the rest of the building to the ground. The camera and lights lose her for a moment, but quickly realign on her once on the ground. Giving an elaborate and over-the-top bow, she idly twirls one of her throwing daggers between her fingers as she waits for her competitors to arrive.

[ELIZA]
The lights, the sights, and the people are all gathered to view this exciting event. If one were to describe the current tone of the crowd, it would be -electrified-! The people that were brave enough to show, begin taking snap shots for mementos of this location, both for the event and the sight of Cathedral. All precautions have been set in place to protect those that did arrive to watch.

Cameras and phones begin to flash, as another fighter draws towards the designated area. Unlike Lotus, Eliza decides to take the more noticeable route. She walks through the crowd that has gathered, swaying her hips as her heels clacked against the road. "Excuse me..." She said in a very gentle tone, lightly touching people on the shoulders. "I believe you're here to..." She raised her hand to cover her red shaded lips, trying not to yawn in peoples faces. "Watch...me?" Oh boy, did this woman ever draw the attention of those around her! Cheers rang out amongst the quite night air, and so did the hooting!

Eliza didn't really mind the attention. Hell, it's the reason she chose to wake up from her nap in the first place! She was trying to regain her lost status and powers, so what better way would there be - than to show off her incredible fighting skills?

Upon making it to the opened arena, she cocked her hip and placed her hand upon it. The Vampire waited patiently for her opponents to arrive. However, she made sure that the crowd would get ample pictures of her in the meantime.

[ARANHA]
One of the other competitors, chooses to not to emphasize the nature of his particular transformation. When he arrives it's not through crawling on the walls or weird super human leaping but merely a slow walk. On his face, he wears a pair of shades to cover the main thing marking him as a Darkstalker. His eyes.

He glances around as he hops over the rope marking the boundaries of this particular battle. Mostly clear. His parkour may not see much use beyond bounding off the ropes.

The Dancing Spider shrugs since there wasn't much in the environment to take in. He then turns his attention to the opponents. One he never encountered but knows of by reputation. The other, a complete unknown. Since there was work to do, his gaze is purely clinical, taking in the measurement of their limbs and musculature to build a profile of them, though considering they're Darkstalkers, that information's usefulness may be questionable.

He looks over at the official, leaning on a post the corner as he waits for the official to signal the start of the fight.

He turns to Lotus, the one he knew of by reputation and frowns. He's already eliminated any possibility of teaming up with her. There were so many things he'd rather do than to team up with someone who was a subordinate to Jedah Dohma, let alone someone who could've possibly set back Earth's survival in the Mortal Kombat tournament. Speaking of which, how was she alive? And does this mean that Tessitore might be alive as well?

Either way, this would be more of a test for Eliza than anything else for him. He sways as he goes into ginga, dancing as he steadily gets closer until he is in kicking range tilting over as he balances on one hand and swings his arm across his body to generate spin as his legs split so he can slap her with his feet.

Lotus slowly turns her head to staaaaaaare at Aranha, then Eliza, taking in what she can from their body language. Like Aranha has for herself, she knows of HIM as well. How much? That's her buisness you nosey reader! Still, it WOULD be amusing to team up with someone with his rep.... just cause she works for Jedah doesn't mean she can't have some fun on her own at times!

Eliza, she knows nothing of. This promises to be amusing!

As Aranha moves to attack the newcomer, Lotus flicks the dagger she had been playing with at his open side without missing a beat!

Eliza was too engrossed in appealing to the crowd, leaving herself open to Aranha's nasty dance/fight moves. His foot spinning and smacking her right across the face! The woman is hit pretty decently, as it left a red impression along her pale skin. Though whats unexpected is that the woman twirled around with her hands coming up in a lazy manner. It's almost as if she was waiting for someone to engage her. "Now that was just rude, dear. Ill have to teach you some manners!"

Her left hands swings out and to the side, and her right is offered up. It's almost appears as if she is asking to dance with the way her hand is positioned. Strangely though, there is an aura that seems to surround the woman. It's accompanied by an almost other worldly pressure that is quite malicious.

"Lets dance..." Is all she says, before sliding up towards Aranha. Her calm demeanor might even be unsettling, as she seems almost completely detached from the fight entirely! Hopefully this allows her to get close enough to hit the man with a darkness enhanced uppercut!

Aranha's spin allowed him to see that the blade was flying his way. Unfortunately it was too little, too late. He tries to cut off the spin by dropping his feet to the ground and from there go into a bridge to get under the thrown dagger which then glances off the side of his body drawing blood but not really doing much besides being a distraction. As he rises to his feet, he sees the collection of energy in Eliza's hand as the uppercut lifts him up in the air and sends him flying a good 5 feet.

So far there was appearing to engrossed in show boating to pay attention to the fight but enough awareness to turn around and intentionally take the hit. And other details make her intriguing. He was still on the fence about her.

He then turns his attention. He had a particularly bad feeling about leaving that opponent alone for too long. Instead of continuing to 'dance' with Eliza, he goes toward Lotus and attempts to perform a scissor take down on her before following up by rolling over and dropping a knee on her face.

Arms fly up, blocking the scissor motion of the takedown before it connects. With a giggle, Lotus tries to take advantage of Aranha while he's suspended in the air, attempting to kick him hard with her foot. Nice and simple! She was looking forward to seeing the infamous Spider in action.... so far she's been disappointed!

She hopes he'll prove better sport as the fight continues!

[ELIZA]
The vampire just watches as Aranha decides to turn his attention on Lotus. Pursing her lips, Eliza almost looks like she's dissapointed. "We were just getting...." She stops, "Getting...." She slips out a yawn. "Just getting started..." She finally finishes, lightly swaying back and forth. Was the woman about to pass out or something? It almost looks like the woman is under the influence!

Eliza continues to struggle and keep her tenuous grip on the realm of consciousness. Then, just like that, she snaps back into the realm of the awoken. "Oh my..." She giggles out, curling her lips into a smile and displaying her fangs for all to see. What's truly unsettling is that the woman doesn't even seem to realize she's in a fight. It's almost like this is a way of life for the woman.

Once all eyes are off her, the vampire becomes a blur of movement. Up until this point, Eliza has not demonstrated this sort of speed and agility! It almost appears as if she's blinking in and out of sight. Coming in close to both Aranha and Lotus, the woman decides to make herself known.

Moving her arm up, Eliza just points at Aranha with her slender finger. "You need to calm yourself down, dont you think?" That aura that the woman had been radiating is now focused and begain to actively -weigh down- the man. To follow this, Eliza simply spun her free hand and made this force manifest itself. Following the circle of her hand, a dark force raced across the ground and towards Lotus!

Aranha's scissor leg takedown was not only knocked aside, but it had been turned aside in a fashion that he was so off balanced that even though he could see that kick coming from a mile away, defending it in any fashion was not possible. To make matters worse, he feels Eliza's aura getting directed towards him, weighing him down with its pressure along with her telling him to calm down, made him anything but.

Well... That crossed Eliza off of his list of potential King of Fighters team mates. He was angry and to be honest the only thing that would make him feel better is going after Jedah's subordinates. But in order for him to do that he needs to change his approach.

He punches the ground as he rises back to his feet and stares at Lotus. Eliza, while not forgotten gets shifted down in priority for him.

The response as the wave comes in is equally as fast as Elizas movements! As Aranha is hit and is out of her range, she blurs towards Eliza in a leaping flip, the wave passing mere inches from her grinning face!

As she lands she attempts to send a poisoned knife into the womans abdoman, and with a flick pulls out the other, sending it too into the same area, going for a deep, bleeding, venomous and rather brutal injury!

Success or failure, she leaps away pulling her weapons with her "I think i might like you. You seem snarky!"

It would seem that lotus is as equally impressive in the speed department! Eliza raises her brow in a impressed manner. Regardless, the Vampire brings her hands up in an attempt to block the knife. Her fingers do run alongside the blade, slightly throwing it off course. The deadly knife attack slides right up the center on the woman's corset, allowing her pale skin to be seen in the newly created slit! "Oh my!" He moans out, and laughs. Her head leaning back as she giggles like a mad woman, falling to both her knees an allowing the audience to drink deep of the sight. Sleep deprivation is no laughing matter kids!

The vampire just continues to lean back and...snore. Thats right, she fell asleep in mid dodge.

Or is that what she wants you to think?? Slapping her hand to the ground, Eliza moves to trip Lotus up with a ground roundhouse, which is followed by a few jabs of her free hand!

[ARANHA]
Left alone, the capoeirista is allowed to get his bearings and he takes full advantage of it easing in slowly taking advantage of the distraction that Eliza is providing by attacking his main target.

As Eliza comes in low with the sweep, Aranha uses his own impressive speed to dart past the other two Darkstalkers and hops onto the rope, balancing with one foot before launching himself at Lotus with one foot extended and forcing her to defend attacks coming in from both above and below.

As for the vampire who keeps falling asleep... Yeah. Definitely off his KoF list.

The double-whammy works rather well.....

Oh, who am i fooling. It works WONDERFULLY!

At first Lotus tries to block Aranhas kick, with the intent of taking advantage of the momentum to fuel her own movement. Sadly, she positions herself incorrectly, and is off-balance and distracted long enough for Eliza to sweep her, the followup jabs hitting with suprising-enough force to send the lunatic fighter flying across the area to impact on the side of the building!

A Lotus-shaped indent is created in the stonework, and the fighter herself is dazed for a moment from the sheer amount of impacts she just recieved.....

[ELIZA]
Leaning back, Eliza literally rolls back up onto her feet. Giving the crowd a nice shot of what she wears beneath her corset and skirt! Her hand coming up and pressing her index finger to her lips. "Oops..." is all that comes out.

Her eyes suddenly lock onto Aranha, her tongue moving out and licking her lips. "Oh, you're just so quick. It's -delicious-..." Indeed, Aranha, this dancing fighter, is showing some incredible amounts of intelligence as the fight drew ever onward. "Your moves are just so..."

She blips out of sight and back in, attempting to get inside his defenses, "Tasty..." Raising her hands up, Eliza moves to grab the man. If she is able to, she bears her fangs and attempts to literally bite him!

As Eliza turns her attention to him, the capoeirista's mind and gut both are in agreement, especially after seeing what had happened to Lotus, that having her attention wasn't a good thing.

This proves to be true when in a blink of an eye, Eliza closes in on him and her teeth breaks his skin drawing a fair amount of blood as well as a hiss of pain. He doesn't think, he just reacts. Before Eliza can drink too deeply, he shoves her away from him and goes across her face a vicious, chi enhanced, pimp-slap right across her face and then quickly following up with a front kick to the stomach to push her away.

"I wouldn't recommend it. I'm not healthy for you."

[LOTUS]
From behind Eliza, Lotus can be heard giggling "I like to bite, too! TASTE TEST TIME! HEEEEEEEHEEHEEHAHAHA!".

She leaps at Eliza from the rear, attempting to sink her OWN teeth into the vampires neck and inject her with an extremely potent poison in the process!

Aranha ain't having none of what Eliza is selling, and he drives this point home with the back of his hand. The attack is strong enough to dislodge the drinking vampire from her prey, causing her to stumble back. Her hand coming up to rub her now bruised cheek, which some blood had smeared onto from Aranha's attack. "That. That wasn't nice..." Her lips turning into a smile, "I wouldn't stop you from eating." Eliza points out, running her fingers along the smears. Moving her tongue out, she lapped at the blood she wiped up. "Mmmm. It's got something else in it? Am I right?" Her calm attitude is still present as she speaks.

Lotus' attempt to bite her are in vain, as Eliza just leaps back and away from the other woman. "I'm talking..." She says in a cool tone. "I'll get to you, when I'm finished..."

Yet it was a trick, as the Vampire wildly threw a incredibly fast kick at Lotus. "Learn some manners, dear!"

[ARANHA]
"To be fair, it didn't look like you took too well to being someone else's meal either."

He tilts his head towards Lotus referring to her attempt to take a bite out of the vampire. He goes back to his dance, not really wanting to respond to the something else in it. It's kind of a sore point for him since it was done against his will.

All of a sudden he skips towards the vampire, delivering a side kick to Eliza's leg, just barely above the knee and then he performs a side kick to the ribs. Sure, capoeiristas hate being attacked on their legs, but if he can't expect his opponents to not attack the tools of his trade, why should he himself back as well?

"I already HAVE manners!" With a quick blur Lotus leans to the side just long enough for the kick to pass by before LEAPING outright at Eliza "ALL MANNER OF VIOLENCE!". She attempts to drive both knives into Elizas collarbones, where there are gaps, and hold herself in range for whatever followup she wishes!

If successful, and in the meantime, she leans in close and tries to lick Eliza on the tip of her nose.....

Cause giggles! ALWAYS FOR THE GIGGLES!

Eliza just watches as the two begin their assault of her person, this would not stand! Thats when she releases a portion of her mighty dark powers, he body glowing in a dark shaded rainbow of colors. Tiny energy -bats- flying from her being.

Bracing for Lotus' attack, Eliza lifts both her arms up and the knives dig into her skin. However, for Lotus, it must feel like trying to stab steel as the blades meet incredible resistance. Pushing her arms out to the side, she throws the other woman off of her. This gives her time to send an deadly kick in Aranha's direction, completely turning all his momentum back onto him. Her heel just smashing right into his rib-cage.

Standing there, the Vampire just stares down the two with her icey glare. No emotion, only an accompaning darkness that is rarely seen by anyone that fought her and is still drawing breath.

[ARANHA]
Aranha's foot just barely makes contact with Eliza's leg just as it rises to slam into his body and sending him bodily flying up and over the rope and for a vicious skid before he slams into the tripod of one of the cameras.

He slowly gets to one knee and then the other, using it as a moment to gather himself before he's back up to his feet. And then he darts back in as he performs a spinning leap over the rope and upon landing continuing the spin as he whips his arm out at Eliza and flings a blue chi spider web at her.

[LOTUS]
Lotus, being so close to her, just closes on Eliza again, going into a frenzy of stabs and slashes of her weapons with the intent of shredding the vampire.... or at least make her a nice and pretty scarlet color due to hemmoraging!

Both are fine and pretty!

Eliza Quickly raises her hands up as the chi web approaches her. As it collides with her area, there is a -splash- of energy that splinters all about the woman. Her hands however still burn a bit from the sheer power of the attack.

Then Lotus attempts to shiv a bitch! "You think you're so clever..." Eliza states before quickly turning to face the woman. "The Darkness awaits you!" In that moment, Eliza is -gone-. She disappears, only to reappear about Lotus. Kicking and punching, she continues to just /blink/ in and out of reality! Her speed is at it's highest once releasing her true powers. Even though she is this fast, Eliza is not able to escape the full fury of the blades. Small nicks and cuts are left along her clothes as she brutally beats Lotus into submission!

Eliza adds, "My poor wardrobe..."

[ARANHA]
Aranha, after releasing the web, thinks about charging in after it. He then sees what happens to Lotus and for a moment, just watches the beatdown. Wincing and cringing when appropriate. To be honest, he had to appreciate how she was managing to be both brutal and artistic.

When it's over, all he can do is shrug. While he'd rather it had been him beating down Lotus like that, the fact that he got a lick in was enough for now.

He goes in knowing that at this point he can't possibly win this particular fight but he goes in for this final exchange knowing that it may yield the knowledge he may need when he fights her next time.

He moves in dancing as he approaches and then he lashes out with a hard roundhouse kick before going back in reverse and hooking his heel around the back of her neck and attempts to pull her face down to the ground.

[LOTUS]
The assault is staggering!

Literally!

It's so brutal, even Lotus' infamous regenerative ability can't even keep up with it! She can't recall EVER being hit like this!

AWESOME!

The beating ends, and she staggers back, darkness threatening her vision. THIS must be what it's like for the mundanes! Eyeing Eliza as Aranha comes in, Lotus breeeeeeeeeathes, sending a cloud of toxic fumes at the vampire as she fights the blackness.....

COMBATSYS: Lotus can no longer fight.

.... unfortunately, she it's a battle Lotus is unable to win. She falls to her knees, then faceplants on the stone walkway, unconscious for the moment.

The Vampire easily dodges the deadly miasma cloud, blinking away from it. Even with all her speed and agility, the woman is unable to stop Aranha's kick from landing. She -is- able to atleast keep herself from falling on her face as was the intention!

Her glowing aura begins to wane, her breathing growing laboured as she seems to have pushed herself farther than she should have. "I....I..." She says, trying to get something out. "I...will let you meet that darkness..." She states and points her hand at Aranha, clawing her fingers towards him. Using the last bit of her unleashed potential, the Vampire moves in on the man!

COMBATSYS: Aranha dodges Eliza's Aggressive Strike.

And those claws meet nothing but air as he manages to just barely to slip out of the way moving from her claw range and back into his kick range. He can look at her and already tell that she pushed herself a little too hard and at least for the moment will be hard pressed to deal with what he planned to do next.

He attempts to squeeze what precious little energy he has left in an attempt to bombard her with roundhouse kicks, front kicks, a variety of spinning back heel kicks, side kicks, all engulfed in blue chi in an attempt to drown her with almost every type of kick to be found in his martial art.

"I may meet the darkness but I'll be damned if I don't make you earn it."

COMBATSYS: Aranha successfully hits Eliza with Royal Flush.

Eliza is rattled and beaten, as Aranha just dances about her with a fusillade of kicks and punches. The vampire attempts to endure it as best she can, but it does little to stem the tide of pain she is recieving. Her pale face is bloodied and bruised, something that is definitely not normal for her.

Once the tide finally ebbs, she looks up to Aranha and smiles once again. "You're..." She bobs her head up and down. "You're good. Really good." She compliments him. "I do enjoy -strong- and /smart/ men like you..." She wipes some of the blood from her face. "Though this world is only for the strong, and Im the strongest there is!"

Leaping to her feet, Eliza moves into her -dancing- posture. Offering her hand out to Aranha again, almost as if she wishes to dance a waltz with him. "Three beats, that's a waltz. Three..." Like that, the Vampire seems to garner some of her vitality once again. Lunging at Aranha with three deadly jabs!

COMBATSYS: Eliza successfully hits Aranha with Bloody Claw.

The capoeirista's body was already on the brink when he delivered those kicks, and all that was needed was a stiff breeze to take him off his feet. What he gets instead are three jabs to the chest which take the capoeirista off his feet.

He tries to will himself to his feet once more but the combination of fatigue and the accumulated wounds and bruises overtake him.

As he stares at the sky with shades miraculously intact, he smiles and says, "I'm glad I was able to make an impression."

And while he may have to revise his earlier analysis of Eliza as to whether she was fit to be on his team his final thought is that actually Grant might give her a run for her money in terms of strength.

COMBATSYS: Aranha decides that discretion is the better part of valor.

Eliza stands there...and then falls to her knees. "The Darkness awaits..." Is all she is able to whisper out from her bruised lips. She then slips into a deep slumber, even as the crowd roars in utter excitement! The cheer for the competitors, as they have given them a fight that was both exciting and full of surprises!
