Neo League 0064 - NL#0072: Kensou vs Yuri

Description: A Neo-League match right on the Noro Express! The daughter of The Kyokugen Karate Yuri Sakazaki faces off against Sie Kensou of Justice High. Justice High? What ever happened with the Psycho Soldiers... (Winner: Kensou)

Would you, could you, on a train?

Sure, if it's a fight you're talking about! For Yuri Sakazaki, there's no better place to show off Kyokugen Karate than on a huge train like this. And the best part is, she doesn't have to worry about falling off the roof or anything like that. It's a totally cool idea in Yuri's mind, and it's also a chance to promote Kyokugen. All while Yuri makes her re-entry into the Neo League, of course. Miss Sakazaki definitely has it made for her!

As Yuri arrives in the fighting car, she looks around to make sure the spectators are there and the recording equipment is set up. She gets a big grin on her face and then yells, "Hellloooooooooooooo everybooooooooody! I'm Yuri Sakazaki, the cute and sweet princess of Kyokugen Karate! And today, you're gonna see a demonstration of just how awesome the Kyokugen style is! We're opening schools everywhere too, so once you've seen this, you'll more than likely want to sign up!

"If you are interested, then there are vouchers being handed out for a free trial lesson! It'll be the most awesome experience you've ever had! For now, you'd better hold on to your seats, because this is going to be an awesome fight like you've never ever seen before!" Yuri takes the time to do a few light stretches and warm up a little, eagerly awaiting her opponent. "Whoever's my opponent is going to need to learn just how awesome I truly am if they want to have a chance against me!"

Kensou would if he could on a train.

He didn't know why he would though. Not in his heart. But in his head? But everything seemed much more serious. Studying was more serious. School was more serious. He had to focus on the most important things. By chance, his principle had let slip that Justice High needed more representation in the Neo-League. That Kensou shouldn't take away from his studies, but Sie Kensou should really represent the school well in the Neo-League. Of course Kensou would obey. He loved his school.

ANd a good student would always do what the school wishes.

As Yuri enters the fighting car, Kensou was clad in his loose white shorts and jean jacket top, doing is warmup stretches. He had a look of focus, of resolve in his eyes... that was broken the moment Yuri erupts with a yell. Nearly falling over from the shock, he turns to face his opponent, eyes wide. "Wh-what?! I- I mean- I- Hello!" He finally decides as the response. "Hello! I am Sie Kensou of the..." He almost wanted to say the Psycho Soldiers, but something seemed more important to say. "... Of Justice High! And Kyokugen Karate? Feh! All I need is my kung fu!" Grinning fiercely, he flexes his arm, patting it with his hand. "You better watch out, because I'm here to prove myself for my... my school!" Kensou almost didn't understand why these words were coming out. But they sounded so comfortable.

Almost as comfortable as the wide-legged fighting stance Kensou was falling in.

"So Mr. Kensou, you think you're all that huh?" Yuri grins and taps her fists together. "Well, we'll just see about that! I hope you're ready for a good fight between you and I, because Kyokugen Karate is truly more awesome than anything in the world!" She advances towards the center, waiting for her opponent to do the same. Then she waits for the signal to begin the fight, which happens not long after, and Yuri goes into her unique stance, bouncing on her heels while she waits.

"OK, get ready, because ready or not, here comes Yuri!" She speaks with a lot of spunkiness in her voice as she advances on Kensou. "You think you've seen it all, right? Well not anymore! Kyokugen is nothing like anything else!" She comes up quick with a left swift punch aimed right at Kensou's stomach.

The punch comes, but Kensou was ready.

It was fast, and it sure had spunk. Kensou was waiting for the first move, his wide stance ready, his hands out. Yuri's taunting and bragging only gets a scowl on the face of the Psycho Soldier. The fight begins, and the left comes roaring in. IN a flash, Kensou snaps with his own guard. Not enough space to dodge, not enough space to escape. The martial artist deflects her left with his own left arm, pushing it aside with gritter teeth. "Kyokugen's fast..." He begins, taking a step into towards Yuri. "But I'm faster!"

And then he lunges in.

The student hurls himself into Yuri, attempting to exploit the opening her offense could have left open. Leaping in the air at her, he bursts in with a flying elbow, attempting to blow her back. Should he make contact, he will keep hammering in the girl, chaining into a flying knee. Back and back he would force her, past the seats of the bullet train, before finally finishing into a flying kick.

This was dead serious.

Indeed, Kensou was dead serious. But despite how she might have acted earlier, Yuri was dead serious too on focusing on the match. She's not playing any games as Kensou comes in with his attack. She knows an elbow like that could hurt, and if she were stunned, who knows what might come next? Definitely not taking any chances here.

Raising her hands quickly, Yuri catches the elbow and, while grimacing in pain a little, pushes the elbow away. "A fast fighter, hm? Well, that's good to know! Because Kyokugen Karate can easily be adapted for speedy fighters... and that's not just for the person training in it either!" She smirks a little. "We have to know how to deal with speedy opponents too!"

Yuri doesn't wait for Kensou to recover from having his attack deflected. Namely since catching the elbow caused her to skid back a little, leaving heel marks from her sneakers on the carpeted floor. "Oops, we'll have to clean that up later! Oh well!" She comments, before bringing her arm back and shooting forth a small, but notable, fireball shaped projectile at Kensou. "How about THIS?"

The elbow was deflected.

The agility of Yuri was impressive, and with his main assault broken, Kensou had to rebound back. No knees come, no finishing kicks. But her guard was chipped. And the carpeting was... "Well, I don't think you have to worry about the carpet. I mean, this is a place to fight, I am sure they-" Kensou is quickly interrupted by Yuri was throwing herself back. Was it another punch? No, as the surge of energy comes.

"YIKES!"

Kensou bursts out as he fling himself to the side. Leaping on top of the seat backrests, he narrowly evades not just the fireball sent his way, but the luggage overheads as well. Squatting down on top of the seats, he barely keeps his balance, arms swinging out. "Fireballs? Ayaa! I was hoping we would slow it down a bit!" Twisting his feet, Kensou begins to run across the seat tops, keeping his head down as he runs past where Yuri is. Once he gets past her, he leaps, not at her, but across the aisle to the other row of seats, with blue energy cascading over his form. Landing a foot on a seat, he rebounds again... this time straight at Yuri. Tucking an elbow out, blue energy rolls over his form as he hurls himself right back at his opponent.

Once again attempting to blow right through her.

One problem with training in the world of Kyokugen is that you have to accept the fact that there's no way to win sometimes. Try as you may, there's nothing you can do. And poor Yuri is reminded of that the hard way. Because Kensou is faster than she thinks, and it seems to happen in the blink of an eye that she is blown through by Kensou (or something similar) and she now finds herself on her stomach, grimacing even harder than before and moaning in pain.

Then, her inner voice, sounding not unlike her father scolding her for being lazy, kicks in, and Yuri pushes herself onto all fours, albeit somewhat weakly, then gets back into her stance. It should be noted that she's bouncing a little slower than before, which may indicate Kensou does, in fact, have the upper hand.

After slapping her face a few times, Yuri gets back into her mental state of fighting. "Even the best Kyokugen Karate fighter has to accept defeat once in awhile. But that was just a fluke on my part! I'm really gonna teach you something!"

Yuri rolls on the ground, through the aisle towards Kensou, then attempts to stick out her foot and trip him off of his feet. It's a unique and somewhat cheap attack method, but it's kinda interesting to look at too. Maybe that's why Yuri's doing it?

Kensou was fast too.

The student's training under Chin has giving him a dangerous level of agility and acrobatics. While Athena was arguably much more powerful than him, Kensou was in turn much more skilled than his partner. As he unleashes the elbow into her, he keeps shooting past her, landing deftly on both feet as Yuri sinks to the ground. A grin was on his face now. It felt GOOD to beat Yuri, for Justice High's sake. It was just like how he beat Kyosuke and... and Hitomi.

The grin fades.

Regaining his balance, the student turns in time for Yuri to be rolling on the ground towards Kensou. The martial artist's eyes goes wide as he tries to the take to the air, to bound over the attack that was coming... but it seems the boy's mind was elsewhere, as the tripping kick comes. Kensou is tripped, and his head smacks into an armrest hard as he falls to the ground. A bit of blood comes from the open wound upon his forehead. Wiping his forehead, he perks up quickly, the agility still in full bear. "How DARE you!" The words from Kensou's mouth, and he... he corrects them.

"I mean, whoa!"

"Good job!" He corrects himself again. He tries to smile, but something was picking at him. He wasn't sorry. He wasn't proud of Yuri. He was MAD. That was in his head. The anger flows over him, and the raw discipline of his martial talent roars up as he hurls himself into his opponent, unleashing flying kick straight for Yuri's neck to pin her down before she could rise up. A cruel blow, but an instictive one. The question was:

Was he following his heart, or his head?

What is Kensou following? That is irrelevant.

The relevant point here is that Yuri just messed up big time and got kicked hard by Kensou. She feels like she's just been through an hour of her father's punishment regimen, which starts with one-hundred knuckle push-ups, followed by-- Oh wait.

Bruised and battered, Yuri struggles to catch her breath, but still won't go down that easily. "All right, Kensou, enough playing around!" Yuri says in a voice that is obviously weak but still full of determination. "I've been playing nicely to try to show you how awesome Kyokugen is, but it looks like I need to get a bit rough! And I don't mind playing rough with boys!"

As Yuri looks to the passengers to tell them something, one of them offers her a bottle of water, which she sips quickly to quench her thirst temporarily, before looking to all the passengers spectating. "This is gonna be a bit extreme, so don't move!" The girl then brings her hands behind her back and then brings them forth, shooting out a HUGE fireball this time! Obviously, Yuri's bringing out the heavy artillery now!

It meant something to Kensou.

Every thought was running into every glimmer in Kensou's heart; the boy's mind was not in sync with his emotion. Instead of chaos, though, there was sheer discipline and unyielding might. As he unleashes the brutal strike into Yuri's neck, he finds himself grinning again. It wasn't joy, it was superiority. It was Kensou being stronger, and showing that strength, to make his school the greatest. As he recovers, that sneer was still spreading.

And Yuri gets that drink of water.
he woman was building up power now, and Kensou was still recovering from his pouncing kick. Stumbling back, he could sense the fireball coming again. This time bigger, this time badder. The martial artist was nervous, and looking side to side. He could slip by the fireball again, in these enclosed spaces. And then it comes, nearly consuming the whole aisle and seats with it. There was no escape now. Kensou crosses his arms before him, and simply guards against the blast.

And it burns.

Kensou slides all the way down the aisle, keeping his feeting as the seats rush past him. He hits the door back first, his slide stopping cold. His arms burned, his back was bruised. But as the smoke pours from his arms, he sweeps his arms as he steps forward. "You want rough? I'll show you rough LITTLE GIRL!" Kensou snarls, as a blue energy rolls over him. Focusing inward, the fury surges through him, as he forces his emotions into a single orb of energy. Slicing his arms downward, he fires the ball of psycho energy, letting it fly all the way down the aisle, as Kensou cries out.

"HIYA!"

That's a rather large orb of energy or whatever. It looks rather powerful, and having endured many projectiles in her lifetime, Yuri isn't about to test that theory out again. She looks around, albeit slightly weakly, trying to figure out what to do. In desperation, she puts her hands together in front of her and calls out, "SAIHA!" The look on her face indicates she isn't sure about this, and it looks like she's trying to pray for a miracle... or at least summon a shield to protect her! Because that's just what happens as her chi forms around her hands.

The shield does more than just protect Yuri, though. She is able to deflect the orb back at Kensou. For a moment, Yuri keeps her eyes closed, but then she slowly opens them and looks ahead. "Should've warned you, Kyokugen practitioners can sometimes reflect attacks! But what fun would that be?" She tries to make a funny face, but is a bit too weak for the moment.

The anger was breaking his focus.

The blast that Kensou unleashes surges across the train, daring to rip into Yuri for the coup de grace. But the teenager had a secret up her sleeves. As Kensou regains his footing, refocusing his energies, there is a cry from his opponent. Looking up, he sees the shield manifest before her... and his eyes grow wide, as his own orb is suddenly reflected back, twice as fast as before. Kensou actually stumbles back as he focuses, trying to muster up his spirit, his will to break apart his own energy.

But it just rips through his body.

The pulse comes, giving the boy a gasp as it dissapates behind him. Falling to his knees, he grabs his chest, the numbing effects running through his nervous system. His body spasms, anger and shame filling him. He couldn't let his school down. He NEVER could let his school down. The hateful urges in his mind smother his heart as he stands back up, eyes blazing towards Yuri as violet energy streams from them.

"How DARE you insult JUSTICE HIGH!"

Kensou begins to charge, leaping up on the seats to run on their backs, before switching to the other ones. Violet energy trails from his form as he finally drops back down in the aisle before Yuri. Teeth gritted, he hurls himself into the woman. His fists spiral in wide circles as he hammers them at Yuri, a brutal, beating barrage meant to smash through her defenses. Again and again he spins and spirals, for a total for four cycles, before he breaks. He would finish with a leap in the air, with both fists together, and then end this with a slam right up towards Yuri's chin.

Living up to the Psycho Soldier name.

Everyone makes mistakes, it's in their blood. Especially poor Yuri, who has the habit of opening her mouth at the wrong time and getting herself into trouble. As is what just happened now when she got Kensou mad with her comments. She was going to explain that she didn't mean to insult anyone, but it's no use as she's getting herself pummeled rather hard by Kensou. She doesn't even have time to grunt or yell out. Namely because she knows she's finished, and she's got one last surprise up her sleeve. Once she's finished getting pummeled, Yuri looks like she's about to fall to the ground, but before she does, she lights up long enough to bring her hands behind her back again.

And then, this time, she shoots forth not one, not two, but THREE large fireballs at Kensou. Each one coming quickly one after another. The conductor is forced to run for cover when he sees the first one, but will Kensou survive this or will he escape unscathed? As for Yuri, once the last fireball goes forth, she goes forth too... onto the ground!

COMBATSYS: Yuri can no longer fight.

It wasn't Yuri's fault.

Kensou would have never been so cruel to Yuri before. But what Kensou was doing was outright ruthless. He was... he was out to smash her. Not for justice, for mercy, for righteousness. But to prove that his school was the best. Blow after blow comes, and with it, the final uppercut comes to knock Yuri away. Kensou gasps for air, winded by the assault... and a laugh comes.

But then she fall.

"Stay DOWN!" Kensou growls. This time, there isn't a second thought that was making him hesitate. He was stepping towards Yuri as she gives out her last try. With a last gasp, three fireballs are unleashed, one after another. Kensou hurls himself into the fireballs, arms crossed. The first is deflected, stopping his charge. The second sends him surging all the way back to the door. And the the third? The third breaks his guard, shattering it as he disperses it over his body, burning his face, his legs, his arms. His arms were seared red, everything burned. He inhales hard. He exhales hard, watching his opponent. She was collapsed on the ground.

And she wasn't getting back up.

The judge calls it for Kensou, as the medical team goes to Yuri. But Kensou chuckles. "That's right, you stay down. Useless." The words come out harsh, and bitter. He had no reason to be bitter. But it felt so liberating to be so bitter. He was painless. Nobody would be hurt. He did this for the school. He proves Justice High was better. ANd he proved it... to...

Kensou never thought about Athena in this fight.

This was the first time Athena even crossed his mind today. Yes, he did prove it to Athena. But where was she? Anger suddenly fills him, as he tightens his fist. He stares across the way at Yuri. Reflecting his attacks back like her. He used to fight for Athena, for righteousness. But what good did it do for him. Justice High would celebrate him, praise him. But Athena? Just the same 'good job Kensou' and nothing else. No kiss, no hug, nothing. Just the same, bitter blandness. Kensou was the greatest Justice High had to offer now. He deserved MORE. "Feh." Kensou scoffs as he turns his back to Yuri, leaning across the door of the train.

"Some friend."
