Maya
"You're not worthy prey"
Heroism was not an easy path. Maya had learned this first hand. The woman was born into the Night Hunters, an order of monster hunters that actively sought to eradicate dangerous Darkstalkers. A talented hunter in her own right from Brazil, it only took a few ill-timed mistakes to lose nearly everyone worth fighting for. Her fraternal twin Mira was killed saving her life, and the despair of that would fuel her next mistake. After another mistake in another mission, Maya accidentally exposed the Night Hunters to Ultratech. When the corporation descended on their monastery, they scattered the Night Hunters, liberating the cursed sorcerer Kan-Ra into the world. Now, armed with the twin daggers Temperance and Vengeance, Maya searches the world, to seal away Kan-Ra again, and whatever evil he has wrought into the world, as penance for her mistakes.
