The streets offer few second chances; only a brush with death and a chance encounter with the man he would call "sifu" offered Antoine his. Though he would struggle in southern China as he did before, enduring a constant ordeal of suspicion and doubt, Antoine forged a true friendship that renewed his strength and led him to surpass all expectations. Silent and serious but never grim, he has been released to wander a world yet new to him, and faces the exciting unknown with an approachable smile. Nevertheless, old habits die hard, and at heart Antoine remains a wary individual, though his desire to encounter new peoples and cultures more than outweighs his hard-won knowledge of man's capacity to betray. The tradition of his style is to be direct, forceful, and without flair, and so he is -- for in striving to improve himself and his art, he nobly upholds the teachings passed down to him, knowing that it is thanks to them that, at the moment he almost lost everything, he found a new path.
