Description: Kazakhstan, bordering recently conquered Russia, attempts to hold the line from a very large assault force from China. Meanwhile, a team of operatives escorted by a military unit seek to set up an assassination of a political figure especially opposed to Shad-- China's demands. It takes the sudden inquiry and subsequent intervention of the mysterious La Shey to stop them from gaining the upper hand in an underhanded way.
Kazakhstan...
With how quickly the Russian nation fell to China's unexpected might - effectively overnight! - it seems a surprise that they'd be so willing to quickly extend themselves even further as the world's largest nation is being converted to Chinese rule.
What remains so surprising is just how much military manpower they have committed to the cause of coqnuest so soon! Their independence, declared in 1991, is being tested a little more than twenty years later. Their standing military is fierce, clashing with an equally large assault force spread throughout the northeast parts of the country.
They have not held everyone at bay, however - a two-dozen man team has gotten past the lines and is in the middle of a delicate operation to perform an assassination of a key political figure - the one that opposed allowing occupation the most rigidly here in the capital city of Astana.
About the white city, men in suspicious dress - a little too suspicious for being people about to carry a delicate operation - File together in a building in which the people inside have already been bought off. Just don't be there today, the money said. We'll take care of the rest, they said.
A truck stops by outside under the guise of being deliverymen, all of them carrying redundant weapon parts so they can construct an unmanned gun drone to do the dirty deed and skedaddle while the main forces are busy clashing to the northeast.
Is there anyone to catch them in the act?

The world is changing and not for the better, Vega's forces are spreading across the world like a cancer and nation after nation is starting to fall before him. What can one do? Fight the people of Kazakhstan haven't given up yet, at least not yet. La Shey has taken to doing what she could and come in on behalf of Karin's family to aid the government here. Prehaps due to business interests or maybe just flat out they don't want to see Vega rule the world. SO here she was on the back lines guarding this place, it has been a last moment switch so the attackers may not have known that the fighter was here.
The truck however is getting a look over from La Shey, she's a little odd she's got a full cloak on, hooded too and looks prehaps more supicous than the minions of Vega do at this point, she pulls back the hood as she nears the truck. Prehaps she was wearing it due to the weather, this is likely the case as she comes up to the truck.
"Excuse me, but I'll need to see your papers, I don't recall hearing about any deliveries today."
"Uh?" One of the delivery men(?) seems legitimately confused by the cloaked figure. "But, uh, ma'am, we're a civilian delivery company. There is no need for a permit."
A ways away, some guys are already speaking over radio in hushed tones, in a foreign language... what is it? A few of them are continuing to try and offload boxes off the truck anyway. There's probably a good six or so men outside altogether, with one not heeding the hooded woman's presence - he's got better things to do, you know! Times are tough and scary!
The one the woman is talking to seems a little flustered at the idea. "You sure you're not a troublemaker? You heard what's going on, right? Right?"
Times are indeed tough, she doesn't know much Russian of Kazakh yet? That didn't sound like either at all teh guys were speaking. "Oh I'm not a trouble maker but that's kinda funny that didn't sound like Russian or Kazakh to me?" She gives the man a very strange look and is smelling something ain't quite right here, just as to what? She's not sure.
"So just what /are/ you delivering? It's kinda odd really as everyone seems to have got sick today."
The deliveryman(?) gives kind of a sour look at being forced to say what's inside. This alone should say a lot - deliverymen typically do not know what's in there! But, perhaps it's the sheer offense at being forced to say.
"Why must you know? You are not who we are delivering to!" Says the delivery man(?). "Now please, be on your way. We are working!"
La Shey might be able to hear a clicking from inside the back of the truck. This may or may not mean much of anything.
Shey is ignorant of that fact about delivery people, she really didn't know. To her logic it would make sense to know what you were carrying, otherwise someone could set you up. She pauses and is walking away now towards the back of the truck seems she got the message to leave but what is that noise? That was strange really she heads towards the back of the truck to try and peer in, prehaps the door is open. She's also on security detail here so she better check it out. Better to be an ass than to be right and miss something.
"Ma'am, where are you going?" Asks the delivery man(?) in suspicion, as she helps herself towards the back where a few others suddenly shoot her dirty looks. One motions for her to go back, to clear the way while they work in silence (which is in itself suspicious).
She hears another click just from outside the truck, similar to the one she just heard. If she decides to move aside the deliverymen in question and look inside, she can see that there's a few very tall boxes that are for some reason aligned vertically, off to the sides. Who does that? That's just asking for them to tip over and fall (and they're marked as fragile too - well, not in English).
If she looks further inside - and let's face it, she's almost certainly going to - she can see them. Who are them?
Men. You know, men in urban camo and creepy light-emitting helmets that are absolutely unnecessary in the daytime, uniformed, and carrying rifles.
Shey says "I thought I heard something." She's about to depart but then she sees in, as she hears a click. Another click and lets face it she's going to look. She looks in see armed men, gets this oh hell no look as she does so. She might have been a bit of a bitch about this but she was right to follow her hunch. There's no time for more thing sthey were acting shifty, they are armed, clearly soliders there's little doubt these guys are not local troops.
"STORM BURST!"
She cups her hands and fires a blast of wind chi into the back of the truck. It could cause a heck of mess back there, she'll flip away hopefully to avoid counter attack. She'll land on her feet. "So just what are you playing at? This ain't no delivery I think my allies would be wanting!"

When you get down to it, when you're stuck in the back of a truck and some mysterious young woman in a cloak is about to fire some mystical gobbledegook right where a number of people are all stuck together, there really isn't much they can do.
The ones up front act very quickly, toppling over the supposed fragile containers for something vaguely resembling cover as the slicing winds slice open the box in a flurry of splinters and mechanical parts. Lots of them - even some ammo shell casings too.
They're delivering weapons?! There's cursing in blatant Chinese, as even this surprise barricade takes them by storm. Two of the guys in the back are taken out via concussion when a heavier mechanical part manages to bean them both in the head, their space so tight it's going to take some time for them to really rush out and mount a counter-offensive.
One of them is screaming something about how not to sacrifice the materials so readily, or some such, but it's hard to really make it out as things are loudly clattering in the truck. La Shey, for her part, might be okay from assault versus whoever's in the truck.
Two of the delivery men, however, already have handguns drawn, both pointed towards La Shey's right side.
"There is no playing." One of them says in heavily accented English, as both of them squeeze the triggers as though under the belief that whatever crazy thing she just did, she'll just go down to two measly handguns firing at her.

Shey says, "This never was a game. You seem to not understand what I am." She leaps out of the way of the shot before the man can finish pulling the trigger. She then tosses the cloak off revealing her almost wet suit like fighting outfit. She now moves in to go afte the man who just shot at her, to grab him and throw him into his companion. She isn't going to sit around at this point. There's a lot of guys, they are armed. While she is a weapon she doesn't want to get shot, that's just not fun. She's also not quite got yet, what a terror she is compaired to most of the human race yet.

La Shey's lightning-fast and decisive movements not only see one man be flung into the other - it actually sees the second one accidentally fire into the truck, which ricochets inside and nails one of the armed soldiers inside in the chest. They have kevlar on, so it's not fatal - but it is momentarily alarming and makes him a slightly softer target.
The other deliverymen that were outside have already forced their way in, while the other two lay crumpled and groaning. La Shey might need to chase them inside - who knows what they're really carrying in there!
The momentary delay caused by ricochet aside, a few more properly armed men - originally meant to help escort some of the operatives and lay in wait in case something really, really went wrong (which it just did), move to try and physically subdue her under the guise that their superior numbers can hold her down long enough to be slugged a couple times by boot, fist, or rifle butting.

CQC is nothing to be taken lightly as the troops manage to keep her from chasing after the delivery men for the moment. AS she's caught in close combat. They are holding her down and beating her pretty heavily. A normal person should have been down from that sort of beating. She's however far stronger than one of her build seems to have any right to be as she starts to twist her body and attempt to kick the cloest of her captor's legs out from under them.
"You think that's enough!"
She'll be back on her feet, she's got to cut through these guys and get after the ones who went in. Who knows what they might be planning to do here, nothing for the good of the people in there or those in this country. The really odd thing is when she's doing hthe kick her entire leg is glowing with the same sort of thing she shot at the soliders a moment ago.

The sweep lets her out of their continued clutch. Despite her taunting, they don't think it is indeed enough - they have already heard the stories about how entirely small numbers of people somehow turned entire battles around - including a recent one in Indonesia where but a mere two men managed to overcome a battalion. That's over a thousand men! They... are significantly less than one thousand men.
She manages to knock down or away about four of the crowd total before those who have surrounded her get wise and start backing away, firing off their clips in hopes of, well... there's not many different things one hopes for when they're shooting at someone, aren't they? All the while, they grimace under the thought that this may attract unwanted attention while the others are trying to do the dirty work of the glorious nation of China.
Incidentally, one of the deliverymen stare out a window in brief, tapping their chin before some shouting pulls him back inwards.
Shey is shot, she manages to get through to some of them but still she's hit, nothing direct but she's not in a very good mood. She's also bleeding now. But she's still comming. She's got to get to the building and these guys are in the way. She'll make for the entrace as she will try to punch those who get in her way the hell out. She'll flip over one land in a couch and if nothing stops her? She'll make right for the door.

There's only so many bullets rifles can spit at once before they need to reload, and all of the militant sorts still standing after that initial slowing volley are increasingly aware of this fact as they see that La Shey is still going strong, still moving like she has some sort of foul evil wind from Hell pushing her forward against the righteous Chinese cause!
Three of the military men meet her fist. The one she flips over does not seem to want to come into contact with her, allowing her inside at long last. The bottom floor of this building seems to be some sort of cafe, based on the arrangement of tables and the stale pastries on display shelves (along with, of course, bottled drinks - maybe La Shey should pick one or two from the case later as her Saving The World Tax, just saying, she'd deserve at least that).
"You!" Cries one of the deliverymen in English. It's not the one that was peeking out at her. "None of this concerns you!" Maybe he's as much begging for her to just stop and die as he throws a grenade at her in the hopes that she will understand and hurry up and die, or some such.
The guys decked out with rifles aren't far behind.

Shey is intent to hound the delivery guys first, clearly they have something to do inside. She'll handle their friends after she's managed to deal with them. The NESTS weapon will rither prove she was worth the money they spent on her, or they would not. One never knows how something like this will go. She's only grazed but she's force to be on the defence.
"Oh yes it does I'm here to aid the people of this country. What? Suprised I'm not even doing it for the cash, I just don't like you people. She'll grab a snack. For now she's turning around to face the greande she speeds up rushing at the man. She's gong to give him a heck of a punch, the greande goes off and she takes some shrapnel to tbe back. That does little stop her as she goes to launch that punch, and turn her atention to his friends if he stays down.

The man is in a legitimate panic - the others have gone on ahead and left him to the bottom floor to quickly check for any complications aside from THE ONE THAT LEAPT OUT AT THEM (La Shey, of course). He does deftly step aside and position himself behind LaShey as though preparing for some sort of partially feasible counterattack he could come up with.
What he does is end up unintentionally positioning himself to be forcefully thrust through tables, chairs, a door, and four of his soldier buddies rushing in to follow La Shey in a painful pile-up. It'll give her a good, clean run up the steps to the second floor.
The second floor where two other guys (wait, four went in, there's two here, where's the other one?) hurriedly trying to bring the boxes up to the third floor. Here, it is mostly just... boxes. Dusty storage, some extra tables and chairs, and the sudden sounds of shouting as two soldiers - armed with grenade launchers - decide the best way to complete the mission is to bomb the hell out of La Shey and the staircase leading upwards.
It's OK if the steps are gone, they'll gingerly catch their own once the murderous demon that is this fighter - the dangerous monsters who brought so much damage to China that supposedly masquerade as being ordinary people - goes down in a hail of nasty, nasty grenades.

Shey is really getting tired of all the explosives, they hurt, they hurt a whole lot. Like this explosion, it hurts it hurts quite a bit. She's going to keep like some sort of demon, hell she's blasting energy at them like she is a demon from the looks of things. She's on her feet once more and charing her first, she knows these guys are trying to delay her so their comrades can finish whatever their mission is. She can't allow that whatever it is, maybe when it's over she'll grill one of them like that Batman guy she's read about on the internet.
She leaps for the ones that fired grenade at her, she'll leap up the gap in the stairs making it to the next level.
"Sorry boys not quite enough!" She's then leaping upon them like something out of a nightmare!

Her assaults are utterly relentless! The ones heading up the rear of the military units avoid certain incapacitation by - very very wisely! - moving away while the grenadiers and two other guys taking up point are blown back against the truck hard enough to knock them out.
There's only two military guys left, and La Shey's already decided to bounce along up to the second floor. Since they just got done blowing up the steps, their only real recourse is to have one try to hoist the other up.
It may, however, be far, far too late for them to stop her from rushing her way through the second floor and up the third, where there is a suspiciously open window for a dusty attic that sees no real use - the locked hatch has been blown open, and the two deliverymen (there should be three left... where's the third?) have all but dropped their boxes of... whatever it was inside them beyond the generic descriptor of 'parts' and 'ammo.'
They are afraid. They are demoralized, but nonetheless endeavor to try and figure out what they have left...
Wait! One of them quickly loads a specialized clip in their pistol. The very moment La Shey appears is the very moment that he starts firing it (alongside the other) - they're highly specialized powder-type shells that turn to a powdery smoke meant to irritate the lungs.
If they can't drop her, they're going to try and slow her.

Shey is just not letting up, he'll only stop when they refuse to get up. If they stay down she's going to. She just halts as the one with the special round and opens fire on her. She now does something crasy, her hands move blurring. A moment later she drops all the rounds on the ground. She now starts to channel more chi, spears of energy start to form about her as she looks at the remaining soliders, she grins a little bit and says.
"Should have given up sooner! STORM LANCER BARRAGE!" She unleashes all of the lances, they will explode in impact and she's spiltting them up amongst the remaining soliders, she's hopefully not leaving her self open but every second they keep going? They might be able to pull off whatever their mission is.

The two deliverymen up top stare aghast as she deflects the bullets /entirely by hand/. Their mouths are agape - who wouldn't be? That's a hell of a trick that's up there with even the stuff people used to regularly enjoy watching on television between the best of the best of the best. They back away towards the wall, knowing there is nowhere they can run.
Meanwhile, the soldier hoisted up to the second floor has pulled the other up and are following from behind, ready to climb up to the third one. Nobody's exploded yet, it's actually awful quiet after the latest bit of gunfire, maybe they got he--
Nope, her screaming suggests otherwise, and the lances go everywhere. All of them. All the lances. One of them gets launched through the wall and down towards the street below. The other thinks to just jump out the window but doesn't quite make it.
Of the two soldiers down there, both get hammered repeatedly by the blasts as she turns her focus down that way to cover her tracks. The boxes spill stuff everywhere - whatever they're supposed to be, it seems like they meant to bring stuff in here and assemble it? You certainly don't need six deliverymen and... what, eighteen soldiers to plant a single bomb in a currently empty building, do you?
There is a long quiet that passes after the storm passes. Not a peep is to be heard from any of the soldiers present. The truck doesn't start up or go anywhere - it's a reasonable assumption to make that whatever business they've had here, La Shey has foiled outright.
Shey will figure out what it is later, she'll also inform her allies about it. She goes to make sure the soliders are down, and will look for a means to cuff them. Tie them up or otherwise. She'll also remove thie weapons from easy reach. She'll head down to sweep for any remaining troops. After all she doesn't want them getting away. There could be more or other nasty suprises, when she gets to the area with the food? She's taking a drink and something to eat as darn it? She's earned that much.
Considering that virtually all of them are unconscious or at least in some state of agonizing pain that renders them unable to do much other than groan pathetically, it's not all that hard to round them up and take care of the rest.
Good news comes from the warfront that the invasion forces have met a stalemate that is not letting them push forward as of yet. The day is very much won, perhaps with much thanks to La Shey's actions in stopping whatever it is they were up to.
The bit of food is pretty stale. The drink, though, it's totally awesome. Maybe she should figure out who manufactures it at some point so she can buy from them directly with whatever money Karin is paying her (if at all).
However... things aren't quite as open and shut as La Shey might think, as the lone survivor of the unit - one of the deliverymen - crouches down in an alley a ways away with one hand to his ear.
"This is Agent Ochre," says the man. The Chinese have, in the past, refused to allow themselves to stand to failure. They would fight to the bitter end or die trying (or worse), but this one... this one seems to have different matters in mind. "Come in."
"Yes... Agent Ochre?" Comes the voice of a man on the line. "Report."
"Unfortunately, sir, the unit I was assigned to..." He finds this hard to admit out loud. "...They have been defeated."
"I see." The man says in an even tone of voice. "Which means..."
"Exactly, sir," says the so-called 'Agent Ochre,' "they would have me executed."
"It was difficult enough to plant you, you know," says the man on the other line, "we know how thorough they are at finding and dealing with... outsiders."
"My apologies, sir," says Agent Ochre, "the circumstances were beyond my control."
"Report back with your findings at once." Says the man. "As you wi--"
"There is one other thing, sir." Says Agent Ochre, tone becoming more hushed as he makes sure nobody's looking on or watching. "This is of interest to Zero himself."
"...I'm listening." Says the man, at first offended by the interruption but then suddenly intrigued.
"The one who defeated the unit," he says, "matches more than a few descriptions..."
...What could this mean for La Shey?
