SNF 2012.01 - SNF: "Ring of Fire"

Description: You know, literally, a ring of fire. A heavily-reinforced wrestling ring has been created just for this match, its tempered steel poles and nigh-untearable kevlar mat ready for the sort of pounding that they're sure to suffer tonight! As an added bonus, the ropes have got lines of gas running through them that will be set ablaze at the start of the match. (Winners: Shenwoo & El Fuerte)

It's a hot time in the old town tonight!

The crowd in the Slam Master arena is as loud as ever! Yelling, chanting, hollaring, and whooping nearly drowning out the voices of the announcer as he reads off the card with great frevor.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, and everything in between! WELCOME! TO SATURDAY NIGHT FIGHTS!" he roars into the microphone from the announcers booth because they could /not/ pay him enough to risk getting trapped in the cage during the hellacious events about to unfold. He waits several seconds for the howling crowd to quiet before he continues.

"We bring to you, at last, the night's main event! 'Ring! Of! Fire!' We have locked three men in this monsterous steel cage and will shortly ignite the gaslines feeding through the ropes to give you one of the most inflamatory matches the world has ever seen!"

"Now! Introducing our warriors!"

"Standing alone we have KYO! KUSAAAA-NAGI! The Fighting Man with the burning hands! He will be facing two opponents here tonight! Across the ring from him we have the two men that are brave enough to face a mnaster of fire in a cage full of it! Introducing; Eeeeeel Fuuuueeeerteeee! The wild, gourmet Luchador that can take the heat in even the hottest kitchen! By his side we have the wild man of Shanghai and self-proclaimed God of Battle! Shen Woooooooo!"

"Will these two men come out on top in this inferno of a fight, or will their hopes for victory against Kyo be burned to a crisp!?"

"Lets find out, right here in- SLAM MASTERS AREEEENAAAA!"

And at last the fires are set, a spark from the ignition device and the ring is surrounded by a curtain of flames.

Fire crews are present of course just in case get too far out of hand.

With the world around him suddenly erupting in flame, Shenwoo, the man that can't seem to figure out how to butten up a shirt but, thankfully, figured out to do so with his pants, pounds a fist into the palm of the opposing hand. It was all he could do to wait for the mouthy announcer to finish the fight. Now with the fires lit and his skin already begining to bead with sweat, Shenwoo's manic smile reappears, threatening to split his features from ear to ear.

"CALIENTE!!"

Hot and spicy is just the way one such Luchador known as El Fuerte likes it! If anyone thought that the wrestler would back down from a burning cage because he can't use his acrobatic maneuvers, they got another thing coming! El Fuerte doesn't need anything to be able to bounce around, if anything the burning fighting fires only serve to reel him into this battle even more.

"Nowhere near as hot as my kitchen!" Says El Fuerte as he bounces lightly on his feet next to Shenwoo. One thing that does give him a slight pause is that he'll have to fight alongside Shenwoo, this SNF would mark the third match in a row he has to see the man. Hopefully he'll be able to work well in unison with him after all their grueling battles against each other, but it shouldn't be that different than his usual partner in crime MURDERHOUSE should it? You've known one hot head you've known them all. "Or Mexico for that matter! Where I'm from it never goes below 80 degrees." There's a flashy grin seen from beneath of course "That is of course a HURRICANE where to pass by!!"

Mexican Hurricane, heh, get it? He's refering to himself...anyway, he points at Kyo accusingly.

"Gonna have to cool you down, ese!"

One of the things about being a professional fighter is that, sooner or later, you need to learn how to deal with not only fighting all sorts of bizarre fighting styles, from professional wrestling to the most esoteric martial arts to some dbag with a telekinetically controlled cape or something. And, perhaps even more than that, you have to get used to fighting on /their/ home turf.

Sometimes this means fighting E. Honda in a bathhouse, and a lot of the time this means fighting a wrestler in a wrestling ring.

Or even a wrestling ring that's /on fire/.

Standing at the far end of the squared circle from Fuerte and Shenwoo, Kyo Kusanagi seems wholly unbothered, and possibly even a little bored, with the current situation. The flames that surround the ring as the match is set to begin certainly don't trouble him any, and indeed this puts /him/ in his element. Even with the heat all around them, Kyo stands there in dark jeans and a white t-shirt, with a black leather racing jacket on top - the Kusanagi sun emblem large on the back, of course - adjusting his black and gold, fingerless gloves as he turns to look over at the God of Battle and the Mexican Hurricane.

A slow smirk tugs at the reigning World Warrior champion's features, half confident and half rueful. Well, he signed up for it right? Snapping his fingers, Kyo's right hand lights on fire, the sacred Ever-Burning Flames of the Kusanagi raging there for a moment before he snuffs them out. "Seems to me you two got out of the frying pan and into the fire then," he remarks, having apparently heard the comment about El Fuerte's kitchen. "But hey, I'm a nice guy... Why don't you two show me what you got, huh?"

'Show me what you've got.' may as well mean 'Punch me in the face.' to the wildman of Shanghai.

Shenwoo is, of course, happy to oblige.

Short on quips or verbal jabs at the moment, Shenwoo opts to follow the old addage of actions being louder than words. In such a case, Shenwoo is very loud.

Long legs stretch out into a burst of running steps as Shenwooo flings himself headlong into the heart of the fire that is Kyo Kusanagi, when only a yard or tw remains between them, that run becomes a lunge. His leading foot pushing him the rest of the distance. A fist that he had cocked back by his shoulder fiores off, launching forward at exactly the moment of that launching lunge, almost seeming to drag the blonde along behind it, propelled more by the fist itself than the arm that thrust it forward.

Some manner of Face Seeking Fist Missile.

"Haaagh!"

Actions speak even louder when you're shouting wordlessly during them!

Shenwoo seems intent on letting the sound of his fist connecting on Kyo's face be the ring that signals the start of the match. And that's all the incentive someone like El Fuerte needs really.

"Yeah, whatever." The willy wrestler is used to this kind of tactic. When he is all by himself he tries to stay limber and move around to make himself a difficult target, waiting for that opportunity to strike, a speedy fighter, a tactical one, smart to a certain extent. When he's with other people? Strategy goes out the window, particularly if he's working in contingent with warriors such as Shenwoo. He charge, right along with the crazed boxer, that sort of mentality has the nasty tendency of spreading from person to person, like a fire, all it needs it's a spark and before you know it it's outta control.

"RAAAAAAH!!"

That's not to say he's not playing this completely dumbed down. As he attacks along with Shenwoo, the luchador notices that the crazed boxer is going up high with his traditional face seeking missile, and as such the wrestler goes low, sliding towards Kyo like some kind of soccer player to kick the heir of the Kusanagi right in the knees.

If Kyo Kusanagi were the sort of person who actually gives others compliments (he isn't, of course, to a degree that's almost pathological) he'd probably say that, if nothing else, Shenwoo has got spirit. Maybe too much spirit, actually. So really even then the compliment probably wouldn't stay complimentary for very long.

The lack of return smack talk doesn't seem to bother the Kusanagi heir too much, who twists with alarming speed to meet the incoming Gekiken with his own hand, his open palm catching Shen's fist with a thunderous impact - which is, actually, where most of the kinetic energy goes, expending itself uselessly but /awesomely/ - that sends a stinging numbness down his right arm... And then he notices Fuerte.

There's not a whole lot of time to come up with a clever defense to the wrestler's sliding kick, but with precision timing the flame-throwing fighting prodigy twists and gets his shin up just in the nick of time, intercepting the kick on hard bone rather than relatively vulnerable knee, the precise movements deflecting the kick enough to blunt the impact entirely, which only stokes the fires of Kyo's confidence even further.

"Heh," chuckles the reigning World Warrior champion, moving out of his awkward defensive position to throw himself into an attack at the more directly apparent threat: Shenwoo. "You're wide open!" he chides, his right fist swinging around in a hooking arc aimed at the brawler's jaw, a guttering trail of flames following the motion of his hand, and an eruption of fire, like a tiny explosion, ready to be released at the point of impact.

If he lands the first hit, of course, Kyo will keep right on truckin', forcing Shen back and stepping in to follow up with a second punch with his left, an almost perfect mirror of the first strike, before quickly twisting himself around and swinging the heel of his back leg up in a fast, powerful kick across the face.

"Hua-!!"

He's strong. Kyo is very, very strong.

Gekiken is intercepted by a open hand, the shock of impact washes outwards, the flames that burn on the ropes around them billow away from the rush of air. Kyo is very strong... Shenwoo couldn't be happier.

The manic grin onle widens somehow, a full mouth of white teeth bared in a wolfish grin, riotous and mad. Shenwoo's pupils swell. Kyo goes so far as to advise the blonde man that he's left himself open. His attention shifts with just a shift of his gaze towards that flaring fist. He tries to steady his footing and tighten his jaw before the fist lands home and shows how little the Shanghai brawler's bracing attempts were worth.

Stars flash in his eyes as his head snaps away from the strike, a grunt of pain that is followed by another just a moment later when the left sweeps around and catches him flat-footed. He's sent reeling, staggering to the right, one foot stumbling over the other. A hard hi, but he's still standing...

Or at least he would be if it had ended there!

With a growl he attempts to mount a sudden explosive offensive, lurching towards Kyo only to be cut off when the back of the man's heel sweeps around and catches him in the cheek.

It's enough to ground him.

Shenwoo falls, sailing away and dropping to the mat. The sides of his face are now marred with residual burns. Nothing he can't handle... much more of.

Shaking it off, Shenwoo tosses his head about, trying to get his short-train of thought back on track. He launches back to his feet, undaunted but not undamaged.

He sails towards Kyo again. Loosing a swift, breif set of punches, one left, then a right, followed again by the left! Something to keep the man on his toes before those hands join together, fingers interlacing with one another creating one, larger fist where once there were two!

This is truely a genius-level brawler technique!

Hauling both fists over his head, Shenwoo brings them down with all the force and grace of a sledge hammer! Trying tou pound through a defense he could not quite break a moment ago!

Hm..not good. It's what El Fuerte thinks when his slide kick is easily batted out of the way forcing his energy to be redirected elsewhere.

Not good at all. Is that he thinks next when a sudden fiery explosion of fire and a crunch of knuckles colliding with teeth signals getting Shenwoo getting blasted outta there.

It ain't good. El Fuerte keeps thinking, not a good way to start things. Charging wasn't good, which means he has to mix it up and make it good.

Shenwoo may have the endurance to continue with the headless charge, but El Fuerte has far too many tools to use to simply not use them. Fires in a fight are good, but they have to be directed in the right path in order for them to work. Right now, the ideal way for this to work is if Shenwoo's heavy handed strikes land solidly in Kyo's face. The boxer can punch really freaking hard, as he knows quite well having gotten punched by him before, but they will do him no good if said punches keep running into Kusanagi's defense. Therefore he has to ensure Kyo can't put them arms up to defend himself. Now, what kind of wrestling technique can restrain arms?

A Full Nelson..

"Hraa!!" El Fuerte suddenly appears behind Kyo as Shenwoo charges in from the front and wraps his strong muscled arms right under his armpits to pull those arms back. Forcing him to open up and take those punches right in the face. It's a dirty street fighting technique more than wrestling but hey, he's also putting himself in the path of the blows so it should pay off.

Yeah, this isn't good.

Suddenly, Kyo Kusanagi is overcome... By the power of teamwork?!

Somewhat preoccupied with the fact that he's got a possibly deranged street brawler bearing down on him, the Kusanagi heir is as a result caught by surprise by El Fuerte's cunning plan, his leather jacket creaking quietly as he's pulled into a full nelson, which is a decidedly uncomfortable position to be in for anyone. "Whoa, buddy, hands off the merchandise," Kyo grouses at the luchador as he struggles, trying to lever his weight so he can swing up a leg to deflect Shenwoo's attack... But instead he gets pummeled by the God of Battle, which is a less than ideal result from his perspective.

That's okay though.

Kyo drops his weight downwards, actually faking out an attempt to get out of Fuerte's grasp via the ancient art of 'going limp', practiced by great wrestlers of every era, but it's actually just to buy himself enough room to then throw himself - and, ideally, the luchadore - up into the air, flames wreathing the Kusanagi heir in the process, streaming outwards as he awkwardly adapts a Kusanagi-ryuu Kobojutsu technique that has existed for hundreds of years... To get a wrestler off of him.

Success! It all hinged on a shorter, hispanic man holding Kyo in place but never the less, Success!

Shenwoo gave a bark of a laugh, exalting in the unguarded strike before he leveled in for the follow up, the fists that had swung low now came back around, poising at his hip and just a heart beat away from making a return swing.

Both arms swept up through the air with another hammering blow but with that Hammering blow, he found no Kyo! The man had bounded upwards, trying to escape the tenacious Luchador with another eruption of flame!

The heat washed over him, blasting him in the face and causing errant, blonde strands to dance in the hot breeze.

Kyo was not running, Shenwoo knew that, he was just dealing with his other opponent. Still, it had been a while since the man from Shanghai had fought someone this strong, this powerful!

Perhaps he was feeling a little greedy. Jealous of Kyo's attentions.

And by attentions, I mean fists... and feet.

You know what I'm getting at.

"Hey, hey, hey! Don't go and forget about me!" barked Shenwoo from below as he launched himself in pursuit of Kyo, stooping into a shallow squat before he launched himself upwards, one hand snapping out to grab at the flame-weilder's leg, seeking to use it as leverage to send the man hurtling back down to the mat and back to ground level where he could continue with the honest, brutal fisticuffs that the God of Battle so loved!

Oh Shenwoo could have Kyo Kusanagi for himself for all he cares. El Fuerte is what we like to call south of the border 'muy loco' but he ain't no masochist, or whatever the hell Shenwoo is...one has to wonder about that choke collar..but anyway, matter of fact is that it ain't right for someone to like getting punched in the teeth, fighter or otherwise.

That's why when the moment Shenwoo's fists connect solidly with Kyo's face and body, the wrestler is quite eager to do as he is told and let go of that jacket, it's pretty snazzy after all and he wouldn't want to rip it apart. But no, Kyo just had to jump up to the skies causing El Fuerte to latch on even harder. Well his loss. Or in this case El Fuerte's but whatev.

"OW!" Man that does sting! El Fuerte ends up burned into one spicy enchilada when Kyo envelopes himself in flames trying to shake el Luchador off. Who would have thought that Kyo had such mastery over phyromancy? Must have been something he ate, that's for sure. "Ey, no more tamales for you seņor Kusanagi!" As much as El Fuerte likes to move around though, as he is caught in such a compromising position, the wrestler only ends up latching on to the delinquent teen even harder. Muscled arms wrapping around his neck whilst his legs latch on to his waist.

There he is, all wrapped up like a present for Shenwoo to continue with his beating. Come and get him Shen, dinner is served.

He doesn't even care that he'll end up getting pulled down to the ground too. Gotta take some hits to land some hits.

Hopefully take less hits than you give but...yeah, sometimes that ain't the case.

It turns out that landing after that particular technique is awkward when you have someone latched onto your back in the process.

Maybe this is something Kyo will have to add to the records of the Kusanagi Clan, so that whatever descendants he ends up having will be forewarned about the difficulties of sticking a landing with an attached luchadore. Or, maybe he won't bother, and they can find out on their own.

Probably funnier that way.

The landing is even /more/ difficult if there's a crazy person trying to smash you into the ground in the process, as Kyo discovers when Shenwoo grabs him by the ankle and yanks him downward. As such, the landing actually turns into kind of a roll, which deflects the worst of the harm being tossed around by the brawler while also giving him the opportunity to slip out of El Fuerte's grasp like a particularly greasy burrito.

Ending up on his feet afterwards, Kyo looks over at the other two fighters, adjusting his jacket and then running his hand through his hair, which after being pushed back falls into place /just so/, possibly another ancient and secret Kusanagi technique. "You guys are both really clingy. Maybe you should learn to relax, you'd get more dates then." He just needs a moment, and barely even that, before he snaps his fingers again to strike a spark. "But if you want attention so bad -- have some of this!!" Kyo sweeps his hand forward, throwing a small 'seed' of fire onto the mat, which blossoms there and streaks forward, a crawling fiery projectile headed directly for Shen.

Shenwoo may not have managed to pound Kyo against the kevlar mat as hard as he had desired but the man was on the ground once more! That waqs all he really sought with the bit of grab and tug.

Kyo rolls through it and comes up on his feet, a prime target for Shenwoo's powerful fighting technique of punching things until they stopped moving or somehow he did. Intent on doing just that, Shenwoo launches forward once more even as Kyo starts to jaw about unimportant things like dates! Who the hell cares about dates?! Shenwoo is in a fight! Don't try and muddy the topic!

It all culminates in a bunch of fire scorching it's way across the mat towards Shenwoo. This manages, at the very least, to halt the berserkers charge, bringing him up. This firey assailent dares to get in the way of himself and filling Kyo's face full of punches. The gall, the unmitigated gall!

Setting his heels, Shenwoo draws his right hand across towards his right shoulder. For once, that hand is not clenched into a fist. The flame draws ever closer and Shenwoo brandishes a riotous grin in the face of the sweltering heat. "Get that shit-" he begins to growl, leaning forward.

With a grand sweep of his arm, Shenwoo looses a powerful, banishing backhand into the path of the oncoming blaze, a faint glow encompasing the outer portion of the limb as it sweeps through the blaze and snuffs it out like a breath against a candle, leaving nothing more than the burnt streak that it had cut towards Shenwoo as proof that Kyo had ever loosed the flame in the first place.

"OUT OF HERE!"

The God of battle is left standing, unbuttoned shirt whipping gently in the hot wash of air that rolls over him. The stifling, opressive heat having left it with more than a few singed spots. "Don't get it wrong here, Sparky! I'm not some weirdo! If I wanted a date I'd be in a bar! I came here for a fight!" jeers Shenwoo, mouth like a smjiling gash carved across his face, eyes dancing with a menacing delight despite the draining heat that even now attempts to sap the life from him.

Perhaps it is he, El Fuerte, who should start eating more tamales. Because as it turns out he is nowhere near heavy enough to truly weigh down on Kyo for Shenwoo to pound flat.

A point easily driven home when Kyo lands on his feet and not on his back as el Luchador wanted and easily slips out of his grasp like a certain oil wrestler tends to do. "Crap!" The wrestler falls catching himself in the process to make a backwards flip and put himself /away/ from Kyo, need to gain momentum before going in for another go. It's a good plan for anyone's who's name aint Shenwoo at least. Since he wouldn't want to be anywhere near the incoming fireball tossed the boxer's way.

Cringing a little, El Fuerte debates whether or not he should at least try to warn the crazed fighter of something heading his way, wondering the futility of such a thing. Although actually he ends up being very impressed when Shen simply smacks the projectile away sailing up to the heavens.

"Man, look at it go."

Why the sight of such a thing is even revitalizing.

COMBATSYS: ElFuerte gains composure.

"Huh," is Kyo's response, as Shenwoo manages to disperse that fiery projectile with his fist and what might be his warrior's spirit. The Kusanagi heir doesn't know, he doesn't keep up with these sorts of things. For a moment, it seems like Kyo is actually impressed by what just happened, or at least that the unexpected turn of events has left him at a loss, which is a pretty rare happenstance to begin with.

"I'm pretty sure you'd get into a fight if you went to a bar anyway," Kyo notes off of Shenwoo's retort, diplomatically avoiding the issue of having been called 'Sparky'. Don't think that epithet hasn't been filed away though. "I think you might have anger issues," he adds, in a tone of completely facetious concern.

Setting his feet shoulder width apart, Kyo raises his right hand up over his head, fingers curled in to form a 'cage' in which a flame appears, raging brighter, more fiercely than the flames around the ring, for all of its smaller size and the part where its very existence should be impossible. It intensifies as Kyo concentrates on it, drawing on the power of his bloodline, and as he does so two things become clear to the other people in the ring.

One, there is a sense of something coming closer, an ominous feeling like it's just out of sight but drawing inexorably nearer.

Two, the flames around the outside of the ring are all bending slightly /towards/ the fire in Kyo's hand.

"I guess it's about time I started getting serious," Kyo remarks, but surely this couldn't bode ill for anybody else.

COMBATSYS: Kyo gathers his will.

El Fuerte peers off after the diminishing flame, Kyo does his best impression of the statue of liberty after issuing a little more jawing. Both of them may be doing something beneficial in order to keep them both in this fight that much longer, or to end it that much more quickly. What they arn't doing is irking Shenwoo significantly.

Neither of them

are fighting.

"Oy, oy, oy! Who the hell called a time out?!" Snarled Shenwoo, ire sullying the pure, horrible joy of being a strenuous fight!

If Shenwoo was this bad happy, did they want to see him mad?

The feeling of impending doom is ignored, that animal instinct of caution over-ridden by adrenalin and whatever sadomasochistic joy that he is soaking in at this very moment. He charges, finishing the journey he had started just a few seconds ago. "Break time is OVER!" he barks as he barrels in on the man with the firey hands. It is prime territory for another Gekiken.. or at least it would if he had that fist cocked backwards.

Instead, just as soon as Shenwoo gets within stricking distance of Kyo, he plants one foot to the kevlar coated ring and with his entire body, drives his other heel towards the man's gut. Pivotig on his planted heel, Shenwoo works the kick with all of his might. It is not gracefull or refined. It is a donkey kick right to the bread basket.

Actually from outta nowhere El Fuerte seems to be nosily munching on some nachos. Where did he get that stuff anyway? And more importantly. Why isn't he sharing? Can't watch some epic fireworks without some snacks after all can't ya?

It seems though that Shenwoo ain't too keen on snack break as El Fuerte is, which is surprising, since the wrestler was certain someone of his caliber would understand the value of not fighting on an empty stomach! Ah well, food can be saved for later, a true feast after such a tremendous battle even. The wrestler downs the rest of his nachos tossing the paper bag towards the fire where it is consumed by the flames before charging at Kyo. Right from the other side.

Maybe the reason why El Fuerte was so quiet was because he was trying to flank Kyo.

"I was getting to it!" Sheesh, El Fuerte enjoys fighting as much as the next Luchador but Shen really knows how to push his buttons. Not that he's about to back down in any way shape or form though. In fact, the wrestler even goes to mimic Shenwoo's attack by launching himself towards Kyo from behind and throw a kick at his posterior, thus pushing directly towards Shen's attack intending to make a Kusanagi sandwich.

...not sure if want.

It's true, Kyo is definitely not doing anything in the way of inflicting direct harm on anyone at the moment, just standing there doing something nebulous but which will possibly contribute to further trouble for the combination of Fuerte and Woo in the near future.

What he did not count on is that this would rile up the brawler so much, leading to an awkward situation where Kyo can't really move too much without completely breaking his concentration, and losing all the power he's started to gather in one place. This is, you might say, a dilly of a pickle.

Twisting, bringing his right arm down with the hand still aflame, the World Warrior champion intercepts that potentially brutal kick with his forearm, tightly toned muscle and a lifetime of getting attacked by violent maniacs providing him with a decent defense against what might otherwise have been some grievous harm, though Kyo inhales sharply at the leftover pain. That guy can hit pretty hard when he wants to, Kyo reflects.

Even as he's doing this, though, the Kusanagi heir seems almost by reflex to bend his back leg, dropping his center of gravity lower as he puts his other arm out, intercepting Fuerte's kick with /that/ forearm. "/So/ close," Kyo taunts, and then he, simply put, catches on fire.

His whole body aflame, Kyo rises out of the crouch and raises his right hand again, the heat and power rising off of his body making approaching him a dangerous proposition to say the least; orange-crimson strands of fiery power rise off of his profile like heat distortion, and the flame in his hand would hurt to look at, like staring at the sun. "Anyway, you guys know what they say about playing with fire, right?" he wonders, his voice oddly distorted by the sheer volume of power being put out, which he then unleashes in a sudden act of violence: Turning towards El Fuerte, Kyo sweeps his right arm in a wide arc and /releases/ the flame, the fiery energy on his body peeling off of it to bolster it, creating a massive swath of fire hurled at the clever lucha chef.

His heel finds the defensive ward of Kyo's arm rather than the softer target of the man's midsection. Kyo was taking on twop people at thos close of range and still managed to keep his guard up as well as remained standing.

This is fun, this is really fun.

Shenwoo laughs even as the man seems to erupt into flame. He can feel the heat wash against his face, his bare chest, it glares in his eyes and forces him to throw a guarding arm up against the blistering heat and light.

Yes, getting closer to Kyo is a bad idea. You should not draw near a man aflame... But considering that Shenwoo signed up for a fight in a steel cage that trapped him in a ring surrounded by fire against a man who by all acounts is a master of fire, Shenwoo might not mind the occasional bad idea.

In fact, considering he is best friends with Ash Crimson, maybe Shenwoo has nothing but bad ideas.

Standing his ground against the conflagratory man, Shenwoo balls up both fists, arms cocking back, hands held just above his hips before he lurches forward, entire uppper body bending for the twin strikes as both fists come hammering forward.

El Fuerte's foot collides with a blocking arm causing him to smack his lips in annoyance by Kyo's resilient nature. How come no one ever tries to distract the other guy so he can get good hits in? Why is he always the one that has to attract the attention of a big target so that other people bash them when they're running after him?

That's probably because El Fuerte just happens to be..the type of person you want to hit in the face? Or in this case, toss a giant ball of fire. Must be the bombastic nature.

"Uh oh!" Now El Fuerte has a lot of experience dodging these nagging fireballs, he's almost made that an art by this point. However he's not exactly what one would call prepared for a fire attack of such enormous proportions! If dodging is not a viable option, El Fuerte really doesn't know what else to do...except.

Run at it?

Yeah, yeah. It worked for Shenwoo, why shouldn't it work for him? How did he do that again? Let's see...

Clenching his teeth, the wily luchador takes into a nigh suicidal run /forward/ directly towards the wall of fire. One fist cocked backwards as he SWINGS it directly at the fire, realizing at that very moment that...Shenwoo is an idiot for trying this kind of stuff, which makes him an even bigger idiot for trying to copy him.

"CHINGADA!!" There's Shen's favorite word again as El Fuerte emerges from the wall of fire completely scorched. Yet his insane charge doesn't just stop there as he just simply continues on his trajectory, fist extended towards Kyo's face as he opens it intending to drive him back directly towards the boxer's double fists with whatever strength he has left!

COMBATSYS: ElFuerte has reached second wind!

There's a fine line between being an extremely self-confident person and outright arrogance: Yes, Kyo is flippant and irreverent, and he shows almost nobody else in the whole wide world even the slightest shred of outward respect, instead often haranguing them just for something to do, but one fo the thing that separates him from true egotists like your Rugals and your Vegas is - aside from the fact that he's not a power-hungry megalomaniac, and is instead a lazy asshole who hasn't finished high school yet - that he doesn't completely write other people off, no matter what he says.

So when El Fuerte channels the very spirit of Awesome and leaps at him through the legendary force of the Orochinagi, Kyo doesn't say: "But that's impossible!!" or "No, how can it be?!" Instead, he lets out a slightly resigned sigh.

Because, yeah, he's still kind of an insufferable prick.

With Fuerte leaping at him like a house on fire and Shen coming at him from the other direction like the Punch Fairy, out to deliver facepunchings to all the good little boys and girls of the world, Kyo is forced to make a quick decision that results in him using the momentum of El Fuerte's shove to control the point at which he and Shenwoo intersect.

This results in Kyo avoiding Shen's fists entirely, grabbing the brawler by one tattooed forearm and guiding his momentum to put the taller man off balance, like some kind of placid Aikido master.

And then his other hand lashes out, a fiery punch slamming into the God of Battle to knock him away, because in fact Kyo Kusanagi is not very placid and he only knows a little Aikido.

Shenwoo's double-fisting technique is countered?! It cannot be!

Oh, but it can!

Over-commited and under-balanced, Shenwoo can only take the inflamatory blow with the most manic of grins. The man goes tumbling away, rolling across the mat for several feet before he can right himself. It's slower than the first exchange that left him floored. The heat, not to mention the beating, has taken just the slightest bit of pep out of Shenwoo's step.

But not for long.

He is like a mad man, grinning with child-like joy and bent on horrible violance.

The heat, the burns, the beating. Rolling his shoulders, it all seems to tumble away, dropped like some burden at the end of the day.

He's being pushed to his limits, he couldn't have this much fun at a theme park! Unless he was fighting someone strong in a theme park... On a Roller Coaster!

F- Yeah, Roller Coasters!

Roller Coasters later however, punching now.

"You're good... You're strong. But don't think your fire-tricks enough to beat me! I've fought-" and lost against, "Ash hundreds of times!" the Wildman of Shanghai bellows as he digs one heel into the mat, weight rocking back as his right arm cocks into position like the firing pin of a gun.

"I don't need any flames though or some kind of pokemon electricity! All I need are my fists!" and feet, and head, and knees, and elbows...

You get the picture.

With this said, there is a sudden shock of fighting spirit that pours out of Shenwoo like gasoline from torn open fuel truck.

Suddenly he's rocketing forward, a lung that closes the distance between them in a heart beat. His arm fires off, the fist once again seeking out Kyo's face. He was denied the target before, would Kyo be able to deny him again?!

No! No! NO! Shenwoo was supposed to punch Kyo when El Fuerte shoved one towards the other, not get punched by him!

El Fuerte wears the annoyed expression of one that jumped through a curtain of fire just to be rewarded with that crummy show. Although it was admittedly an impressive one he would have preferred if it hadn't happened to his team mate. Never mind that Shenwoo is totally ignoring him and throwing punches almost blindly, if the Luchador is able to work alongside someone like MURDERHOUSE he can work with anyone! Somehow, someway, he'll turn Shenwoo's chaotic wild punching into something that resembles a plan.

Although he really has his work cut out for him. After all, the strategy is pretty obvious here; Shenwoo wants to punch Kyo, put Kyo in a position where he gets punched. Nothing to it right?

"'Ey cabron!" El Fuerte who by some miracle is still standing, calls over to the overconfident fighter when Shenwoo comes at Kyo for another go, trying to keep the attention on him, that punch will hurt even harder if he doesn't see it coming.

As he yells, the crazed wrestler runs directly towards Kyo with the clear intent of tackling him, though as he slams into him rather than bring him down to the ground he'll be hooking his arm under his armpit to swing him around taking him for a merry go round. One that ends abruptly as El Fuerte finishes his latin twist by sending Kyo directly towards Shenwoo's fist. Face first.

"Andale!"

Another thing about being an incredible badass fighter is that you have to recognise that you have limits. Sometimes these limits are flexible: On one day, you might be able to fight Zangief and some girl who shoots ice who isn't Kula no problem, but on another day you might have significantly more trouble with a completely different pair of fighters. The important part is to learn from every experience, and be a good loser.

In fact, Kyo is gracious in defeat... It's in victory that he tends to be a smug asshole.

Fuerte, still channelling awesome at a furious pace, leaps at the Kusanagi heir despite the beating he's already taken from various pyrokinetic attacks, leaping at Kyo with every intent to toss him into something dangerous, but things get... Problematic. While Kyo is grabbed, and Fuerte does start to toss him, Kyo stops playing along about halfway through and straight up punches the luchadore in the solar plexus.

From there it's a blindingly fast move forward to grab the wrestler by the neck and lift him up off the mat, just for a moment before, with a shouted instruction to "BURN!" Kyo unleashes a massive explosion of Kusanagi flames that envelops El Fuerte and hurls him away.

At which point, Shenwoo punches him in the back of the head at like a billion miles an hour.

"Sonofa--" Kyo manages as he gets punched /really hard/, hurling him into and over the fiery ropes, where he lands in a heap at ringside.

He decides to stay there. The floor is surprisingly comfortable, for padded concrete.

COMBATSYS: ElFuerte takes no action.

There was fire, punching, kicking, men lighting themselves on fire and other men that just didn't know when to stay down. Of course the people in the front row couldn't really see it all that well for the curtain of flames that sprung up from the ring-side ropes, but the people back in the cheap seats and the nose bleeds got a hell of a show!

In the end, Shenwoo is the last man standing! Battered, burned, and likely in need of a drink, the wild man of Shanghai turns to see where ever his flash-fried partner had gotten off to only to see that he wasn't getting up either.

It is important to note that the man with the rocket punches still had a pair of fists at the end of those arms.

High Fives would have likely been cast aside for more punching.

This is not the case however! Instead He stands alon and victorious with nothing else to do put throw his hands in the air!

At least until the fire control people rush the ring as soon as the cage rises and hits him with a fire hose.

Well that was kind of his job anyway wasn't it? Make himself a big target to keep Kyo's attention on him so Shen could punch him?

It worked...it worked too well in fact. Kyo focuses down on El Fuerte in a bad way and blasts him apart as he was going for the grapple. But as he falls down some ways off, the wrestler opens one eye to see Kusanagi getting punched in the back of the head and landing almost right next to him.

"Pfft..hahaha..." El Fuerte gives out a weak cynical laugh.

"Totally worth it..."

Then he passes out muttering something about churros.
