SNF 2011.11 - SNF: "Ed Rooney, You Are Not"

Description: He punches the ground and it erupts in fury. His kicks cut through the air like the sharpest blade. His knuckles burn white-hot. Terry Bogard is a powerful mountain to overcome; can "Murderhouse" Mick, along with frenemies Faolan and Reese push past the sandwich gut and work together to topple this beast of a combatant? Whoever's left standing will be free to teach a week's classes at the school, having proven their style to be the best. (WINNER: Terry)

Ah, high school. ... Terry skipped it. But the schools of Southtown are particularly adept at turning out fighters--as if they were factories for the building and creating of young, often idealistic, punch machines. Maybe if he'd gone to school at a place like Pacific or Taiyo, instead of just traveling around the world, fighting people for money and just because... well, anyways.

Terry Bogard, the Legendary Wolf, walks into the auditorium, already lined with Pacific High students and teachers, and drops his duffel by the door, then doffs his cap and dusts it off on his knee as he walks into the room further. The dais has been moved, the first three tiers of seating recessed, to allow enough room for the fighters, and as the Wolf walks in, there's some cheering. The sound pumps him up and he waves the hat, waving to his cheering fans, and walking to the far side of the makeshift arena.

The 'winner' gets to teach a class... hell, what'll he do with that? Maybe teach about... eh, he doesn't know. He'll have to consider it, but there's no reason to ignore the fight. He knows how much determination can overcome the lack of skill, experience, or power.

For the man called "MURDERHOUSE" Mick, school was a little different than most. School for him was watching for snipers when walking in the morning, and avoiding the school's trashcans for fear of bombs. Walking the gaudily painted hallways didn't remind him of peace, didn't even remind him of the typical hells of getting laughed at, or getting rejected at prom- No, Mick was reminded of the daily fight for survival, all over some fucking books. The big man just kept his glaring, unblinking eyes forward, pushing open the doors violently, before dragging in the shopping cart. It contained numerous, numerous weapons, things taken from hardware stores, street signs lifted from lamps, and it was completed by missing a fourth wheel, so that the sound of it dragging against the polished, wooden floor, was absolutely atrocious.

Nothing fancy here, just a pair of ripped jeans, a black "WASP" shirt, the typical gear he wore as a wrestler, and to top it off, a black hockey mask, with red highlights, this one not having been damaged by -another- famous hobo. No, this one was fresh, but probably wouldn't be for long.

Mick smiled underneath his mask, glaring at Terry as he awaited his "team-mates"...it was perfectly alright with him!

"Nice hat." He spoke softly, barely above a whisper, his tone devoid of humor.

He doesn't act like he had an education at times, but surprisingly before taking to the military and eventually mercenary life Faolan completed his schooling. Mostly because his dad would have whipped his ass left to right if he didn't. Even so he never really considered what he might teach. He certainly isn't thinking about teaching right now. He is thinking more about how SNF officials really do seem to enjoy putting him together with Reese. Something he doesn't mind fully up until a few days ago when the damned devil tried to ROB him.

He almost thought about not showing. He is a man of integrity, though, and if he is scheduled to fight he will be there. Things just might not go so smoothely given they decided this time around Faolan and Reese would be on the same team. Is she going to act like some crazy bitch again or is she going to be back to herself? Even so what will stop her from randomly attacking him again if the fight ends and they manage to win? He will just have to keep one eye on her and one on Terry.

The Ikari Warrior steps forward into the auditorium without much fanfare. His usual jovial expression a more serious one as he looks around. Looks like Reese isn't around just yet. With his luck she will try to leap from the crowd and try to jump him. For now he just nods to the the larger of the Irishmen that appears to also be on his team before looking to Terry. He gives a small tip of his cap and then looks around. More interested to see where Reese may come from right now.

Reese hasn't set foot in a high school since she was //in// high school. She was actually a //great// student, had a wonderful GPA, and didn't take up fighting at all until university -- and then got involved with a little trickery and thievery on the side because it paid well, and she didn't have to live in the desert forever to hit a big pay day like she would with her chosen profession.

Well that, and she and Marius //did// have a good thing going for a while. One working distraction while the other went for the prize.

Now she's here, meant to be teamed up with Faolan and someone she's never met. For some reason she's been feeling guilty where the Ikari is concerned and she can't place it off the top of her head. Something that happened, maybe in Egypt. All she can remember //clearly// is that her contact never showed which means that she's lost a sale which annoys her. Those sales can be worth a lot more than the fighting circuit pays.

Choosing to make a //showy// entrance, she's got her whip latched around one of the spotlights and swings in from it to land right beside Faolan. At least she's not trying to jump //at// him but she's got a feeling that it's //still// not going well.

Ah, they're here. Terry watches the opposing team assemble--'MURDERHOUES' Mick, Faolan, Reese. His blue eyes sweep across each of them in turn and then he reaches up, settles his cap just a touch straighter, and tightens his gloves on. "Alright!" he says, pointing with his left hand's index finger, gesturing at the three.

"Guess I'm supposed to take you all on," he says, with a grin. It isn't a -bad- grin, but there is a fierceness to it, quite possibly how he attained that 'Wolf' part of his sobriquet. He rolls his head around once, twice, and then brings his hands up, tightening them into fists, and adopting his wide-footed stance.

"I'm not one to stand on ceremony so--" His left hand flips flat to the ground, and he beckons with his fingers.

"C'mon, c'mon!!"

"Time to dance, ladies and skanks."

Mick was equal opportunity with his bashing, and as Terry started his shpeal, the seven foot Irish monster hunched his shoulders down a bit, grabbing at the cart and violently upheaving it, letting the clatter of various weapons spill along the floor. He slowly started stalking toward Terry, watching him like a tiger watched the prey. Of course in this case, the prey was normally far, far out of his league. Hopefully, if he dropped Terry on his own skull a few dozen times, that might slow the vagabond down..

And there she is. Reese lands and Faolan instantly is in a position ready to strike given she lands right friggin' next to him. His eyes are narrowed and his bata raised with both hands gripping in. "After this fight if we win I don't want to see you. Got it?" he says to her and he moves to step away and instead concentrate on Terry. Or at least he will try to in this case. He seems to be keeping an eye on Reese still. It also seems like he is not the rude one in this fight. So far Mick seems to make Faolan a rather pleasant sort. Then again he is usually a bit more happy go lucky than how he is now. Faolan in a bad mood is certainly not a fun Faolan.

And since it seems Mick doesn't want to make the first strike the other Irishman will. Getting in close and attacking Terry might not be the best of ideas, but it keeps his mind off Reese. He is doing his best to focus on the task at hand. As he comes in he jumps up in the air as he raises his bata up high and he looks to bring it down on the top of Terry's head. "Haaaaah! Lets do it!" Well the man certainly seems to be thowing caution in the wind. That is for sure.

"Whatever," Reese replies with a roll of her eyes toward the ceiling. Now if only she could remember exactly //why// it is that Faolan doesn't want to see her again, and why she even //cares// that he doesn't want to see her. Granted, that whole misunderstanding issue with Marius is a good enough reason to want to avoid her, but she's here to focus on this match and not the Ikari.

Her eyes train on Terry and the larger of her two allies for this fight, and then follow Faolan as he makes his attack.

And then //suddenly// she remembers what it is that happened in Egypt.

Following behind Faolan she swings in a sharp punch toward Terry's midsection and then twirls so that she's behind the man and facing Faolan.

'You still want that bata...'

"I should have fished you out of the damned river and just taken the thing," she mutters.

Hmm, dissension in the ranks? Interesting. They probably won't work well together... but then, maybe they will. For sure both Faolan and Reese are first off the blocks. The Irishman lunges with that bata, coming down hard with it--but Terry slips the strike, using his right forearm to deflect the vertical strike as he shifts away from it, right into Reese's path--but that punch meets his other forearm, tensed, strong muscle and dense bone taking the impact well. He twists his left forearm to deflect the punch and then, from close range, spins to face Reese--and drives low. His intent? To slide into her feet and, in one smooth motion, pop up and fire a kick straight into her chin, a smooth, two-strike combination attack. One at a time--that's the trick when fighting multiple opponents. Don't try to think about taking them all out at once...

He wanted to hold back, see what happened, and see what his tag partners would do. Well come to find out, Barbie and Ken were having a tiff about the Camaro, ain't that cute? No. And because of this, the hat-wearing Terry was able to avoid their attacks, and even aim one of his own. Sneering, Mick would act now, lashing his boot out, and trying to smash the steel-toe right into Terry's thigh, or perhaps behind the knee, something that would put a damper on those skilled legs of his...

"Focus, you fucks." A helpful suggestion, for the team he already loved being on...

The strike was a strong one, but Terry is all too skilled to really be easily hit. Faolan won't be able to be very head strong about everything in this fight. he will have to work with his partners and devise some tactics to find openings and actually take down a fighter of this skill. Which probably means the team is screwed. Faolan and Reese are clearly are not on good terms at the moment and Mick seems like he is just going to do his own thing. It very well can just be shooting fish in the barrel for Terry.

"I heard that. Yer lucky I left ya standing." he grumbles once landing and he sees Terry take a kick towards Reese. While Bogard is busy with her the Ikari decides to charge in and bum rush him with a shoulder intent on hitting him head on. He will follow it up with a quick headbutt as well. Maybe he can rattle the more expeienced fighter and just throw him off his game for a tiny bit at least.

A double fire-kick to the chin? Why not. It's not any worse than fighting the queen of chin-kicks, so Reese decides to block it. Holy crap was she //wrong//. Even with her hands in place to keep the kick away from her face, the break right on through and send her staggering back. Thankfully for Faolan, it'll be //away// from him so at least she can't go after him for the bata, right?

Well not exactly, she's just biding her time, giving her head a shake and trying not to let the ringing she's got in her ears keep her from going on.

With a fluid movement, Reese slides the whip from her hip and flicks her wrist to unfurl it. Then she's lashing it out at Terry's leg in order to trip him up and send him toward Faolan's attack before she yanks backward to drop him on his skull.

Terry is caught by the whip and slung towards Faolan--but the shoulder rush meets his own. The only thing that keeps Terry from using that momentum is being slammed onto the ground by Reese's whip. He bounces once, but doesn't seem overly put out, to be honest--not because it didn't hurt, but just due to experience, knowing that these things will happen. Can't let them occupy his brain. He still has one more attacker to deal with, after all.

The bounce actually lets Terry get his feet underneath him, so, when he lands, he lands turned towards Mick--and that steel-toed boot finds the outside of his left thigh, turning the kick aside a little as he hurls the man called MURDERHOUSE into the air with a leaping shoulder tackle--only to hurl him back to the ground with a chi-flared right smash, a blazing, yellow-white aura surrounding the smashing fist that sends the man back down before Terry lands.

"Not bad, not bad... keep it up!!" he extols his opponents, that grin only getting fiercer.

Mick was bounced into the air, and brought back down with a tremendous impact, unusual for a man of his size. He landed right on his neck, but ignored the pain to the best of his ability. He rolled to his knees, and through a foggy haze, his right hand would reach out, to try and grab Terry around the thigh, or hip. His left hand would come up, in a collection of fast, hard jabs, aimed right at the balls of the powerful fighter. This would end when the delayed effects kicked in, causing Mick to actually collapse back to the floor, gritting his teeth and involuntarily flexing his muscles.

Well that was a bit unexpected. Reese tried to help Faolan land a hit? Will that damn woman make up her mind on what the hell ever she wants? And why is it he can't just get a few days away from her so he can enjoy a fight? It is like dealing with a bad girlfriend or something. The one that never GOES AWAY. Even with her help he doesn't seem to be able to land a solid hit on Terry like he hoped. At least he doesn't have the bad luck his fellow Irishman has and he gets nailed by one of Terry's more notable moves. Seeing him take the hit even makes a man like Faolan wince slightly. This is going to be a long and painful fight he thinks. Short and painful if he is lucky.

Upon Terry landing he will soon find himself having to deal with Faolan once more. This time it is another strike with the bata, but unlike the wild swing this is more of a thrusting motion as if he was handling a rapier or such. Blackish chi crackles as it swirls around the wooden fighting stick as it gathers at the tip that looks to slam into Terry and offer a shock to go along with the physical impact of the bata.

Maybe, just //maybe// Reese has a thing for Faolan?

Or maybe she just //really// wants to steal that damned bata for some reason.

'Look at the way he's using the energy. You //know// you want it. It's got to be better than the guns, and if not you can just add it to the collection.'

The Aussie closes her eyes briefly, giving her head a shake and //trying// to concentrate on the fight. Even though she //does// focus on things, she's half tempted to convince Terry to take out Faolan so she can steal the damned bata and be on her way so that the little niggling voice in the back of her mind shuts up.

Circling around the back again, trying to stay out of the way of her allies, she bides her time. Eyes never leave Faolan though she's well aware of what Mick is up to. As soon as both attacks go off she's swinging out the whip again -- this time as a distraction as she moves in to close the distance and attempt to grab Terry by the arm and flip him to the ground by Faolan's feet.

It's true, really, what that big giant said, in that one movie. Fighting multiple people is a lot harder than fighting just one--but if you get used to one or the other, then the opposite becomes even more difficult. This is Terry's first multiple-opponent fight in a while, and, he finds, it's taxing his abilities--he's got to modify his tactics some. The Wolf lands and immediately has to avoid the black-crackling length of the bata, achieving that with a backwards lean that lets him put his left hand on the ground--the better for him to spring back up and into the face of Mick's jab combination--weaving and ducking like a boxer, he takes a step or two back to aid in the avoidace--and then Reese has the unfortunate opportunity to grab his arm. She gets halfway through the flip--and then Terry pushes off the ground and snaps his arms out.

Suddenly Reese is caught in a whirlwind storm of Terry's arms as he flies upward in a reverse spinning lariat. "RISING TACKLE!!!" he shouts (hey, it's union-mandated), coming out of the last whirl and flipping to fall downwards, feet-first.

Nothing much to report, Mick quickly rolled away from the mess of the fight, leaving his two "comrades" to fight it out while he recovered, while he tried to pull his mind out from that place underwater. This fight wasn't going his way, or any of theirs? He'd have to wait and see if it was even worth finishing...

The guy is good. Really damn good at that. Seeing someone like Terry in action makes Faolan grin and forget about annoyances even if it is briefly. Well that and maybe he is enjoying the fact Reese just got turned into a ragdoll. He won't outright say that at least. All he can do is try to keep his focus on Terry and look for some sort of opening. That seems like it is going to be the tricky part in the end. He also doesn't realize that Mick has decided to hang back for a bit leaving right now Faolan the only one standing and attacking Terry at the very moment.

If that is how it is going to be so be it. Faolan is probably going to get wiped out by Terry just as fast as the others once he finally seems to gain the fully attention of Terry, but he doesn't seem to be holding back at the moment. That and he really doesn't want to teach any classes. Even so there is no fun in a fight unless he is in the thick of it. "Hup!" he closes in on Terry again once he lands and he aims to swing the bata and try to nail the other fighter right in the ribs.

"Rising //what//?" It's the last thing anyone can hear from Reese before she's caught up in that whirlwind attack that is the union-mandated Rising Tackle and finds herself down on he floor. Groaning, she pushes up to her feet but her actions are slow. Very slow.

Her head is given another shake, and immediately her hand is going to the necklace to ensure that the strange ruby pendant is still around her neck. Tucking it carefully away, she glances at Faolan. If he's laughing at her, she's damned well going to do something about it. Something like attack //him//. Only he doesn't seem to be.

'Of course he's laughing at you. You just got your arse handed to you. You really should just go for him anyhow. Try to get that bata away from him...'

Later. She'll try for the bata later. Right //now// she's still got enough energy within her that she's going to give herself a chance to get the hell out of Terry's way and catch her breath.

Huh. That's almost disappointing--apparently only Faolan is gung-ho about the fight! Terry hasn't forgotten what it feels like to face off against someone like him, though--so he can't be too chiding. He has been compared to an overwhelming force of nature before. Still... the swung bata lands on Terry's bicep, the Wolf having brought his arm in, tucked tight, to absorb the hit.

"Too bad your friends don't want to play, but I couldn't live with myself if I took it easy just because of that," he tells Faolan, as he snaps his left hand out for a stunning jab--but the jab isn't the attack, it's just the setup, as Terry reaches back with his right fist--and it starts glowing again, moments before Terry hurls himself forward, full-force, that energy-sheathed right fist aimed right for Faolan's chin. Once again, his voice rings out.

"BURN KNUCKLE!!!" Only now, the words are echoed by some of his fans who recognize his famous move.

Mick fought through the haze of pain, and reached in his pockets, quickly grabbing a lighter, and a small, lightweight can. He sneered beneath his mask, the insult Terry so casually throws out indeed getting under his skin. The flame switches on, and after a moment, the silent 'hiss' of hairspray combined in an impromptu flamethrower, and while Mick sits up a bit, he aims it right at the face of Terry. He'd do this right after Bogard hits that Burn Knuckle...

There is a grin even as Faolan has the iminent feeling that he is about to get face punched. Even so he gives a slight shrug. "Hey, I'm an Ikari. We don't know the meaning of the word quit. This is just a workout for me." A very painful one, but still a workout! He is about to show the extent of the amount of insanity he might just have by not even attempting to get out of the way of the strike even when Terry's hand ignites with energy and comes sailing right for his chin. There is a loud thwack and the impact sends Faolan stumbling back and eventually onto his ass.

He rubs at his chin and the grins again as he manages to get back to his feet. He is a bit shakey, but he manages to get the energy to charge forward right towards Terry once again. "All right. Now it's a fight!" He declares as he aims to drive his bata right into Terry's chest again. This one aiming to tangle the end of the bata into the man's shirt to kind of pull at Terry and keep him from backing off. Not like he would, but it seems the Ikari is insane enough to want to make things a fist fight. If it manages to firmly hit Terry another release of energy is sent through the bata to give the experienced fighter an electric jolt.

"Crikey!" Well there may be just a little bit of concern for the Ikari -- or maybe it's just feigned in an attempt to get on his good side and steal the bata when his guard is down. The concern -- real or feigned -- is short lived when Reese sees that he's hardly down and out. She'll let him get all up close and personal, while she's going to keep her distance.

At least for now.

Coiling the whip back up, she attaches it to her belt and smoothly twirls one of the guns out of the holsters on her belt. Then she takes aim. Glancing around the auditorium, she moves to the far side of the dais and follows movements until she gets a decent enough angle on Terry. Then she fires off a double shot of energy bullets. As the silver energy gets closer to the man it turns into something sharper, pointier and looking more like an ancient arrowhead than a bullet.

Terry's Burn Knuckle takes him past the impromptu flamethrower--and, in fact, his skidding turn ruins Reese's aim, too, though the energy arrowheads are noted. Pretty flashy, but he wouldn't want to be hit by those. Then Faolan is upon him, but that bata is knocked away by an open-palmed strike--some of the jolt getting through, but not nearly enough, really, to count as a hit.

"Now that's more like it!" He seems happy to have all three coming at him, the test of skills different from, say, facing down Ryu or Kyo Kusanagi, but just as fun in its own right. And then he hunches down a little, settling into himself, his knees bending slightly. He doesn't make that low 'Haaaaaaaaahhhhh!' sound, but orange energy flares up around his feet in a coruscating, undulating circle around his feet, a wind seeming to blow upwards from the circle, ruffling his torn-out sleeves, and his hair.

COMBATSYS: Terry gathers his will.

Well, that was it, time to put all his eggs into one basket. Mick clammered to his feet in a charge, a frame his tall, muscular and lean didn't look natural, bursting at Terry the way he did. He would reach for Terry, to try and grab the vagabond in a headlock. If he did this, a truly horrendous series of attacks would await the man in red. First, Mick would produce a fork, a glinting, sharp silver fork, and start to jab it down, trying to grate it across his forehead, perhaps the man's hat woudl provide him some protection from this onslaught, and maybe people would wonder, "Hey, where did he get that flaming barbwire baseball bat?" It was a good question that went unanswered, Mick grabbing the big horrible looking weapon, taking aim...then charging in and trying to smash the wooden slugger viciously against Terry's face, and hopefully smash him right into the auditorium ceiling.

Hopefully, unless this was countered.

Now the others are joining in. Granted Reese had a bit of an excuse given the fact she was sort of blasted away from that tackle from a few moments ago. Even so he is doing his best to press the attack and he gets lucky he isn't caught up in all the attacks. He manages to strike Terry, but the more experienced fighter managed to soften the blow to where it doesn't look like it did much. "You really are a tough bastard. I like it." he says with a chuckle as he grips his bata by both ends.

He hangs back a bit himself, letting at least Mick go forward to attack Terry this time while he takes a deep breath and starts to concentrate. The energy that usually snakes around his bata extends to cover his forearms and hands as he tries to focus all he can gather into his fighting stick. His usual tactics aren't working so well so it is time to be a bit more insane he supposes.

COMBATSYS: Faolan gathers his will.

'There's the bata. You could just swing in and steal it. Use the whip, he might not even notice until it's too late.'

Reese waffles, ready to lunge for the bata, but then sees the energy start to coalesce around him and into the stick. "Yeah, might not be such a good idea now," she mutters to herself. Even noting the way Terry seems to be gathering all his energy, and she //still// wants to keep as much distance as possible.

Well //hell// if everyone else is doing it...

Flipping the gun back into the holster, both hands settle to the weapons in the holsters. Then, eyes never leaving the bata -- as though she expects the Ikari to twist around and attempt to kill her -- she allows her energy to build slowly around her. The silvery blue seems to build up along her body before drawing down into the weapons.

COMBATSYS: Reese gathers her will.

Once again, two sacrifice one--and here comes "MURDERHOUSE" Mick with... a variety of things? A big fork or... hell, he can't even tell. He's too busy defending--still grounded by his connection with the Earth, he brings forearms up and absorbs the strikes on them. He's going to bruise, for sure, but that's not even something to worry about. He's bounced back from worse. And he likes to see enthusiasm. He responds to it... with enthusiasm. And by enthusiasm, we mean, chi.

After the last strike bounces him back slightly, making him lean, he suddenly lunges forward and goes to his left knee. All that chi he had built up? It explodes up and out as Terry strikes the ground with his right fist, a geyser-like explosion of that chi, orange and yellow and white and filling Mick's vision. This time, Terry doesn't even shout--it comes from the audience, who shouts (in a tone much higher than Terry's), "POWER... GEYSER!!!" ... it's good to have fans.

COMBATSYS: Terry successfully hits MURDERHOUSE with Power Geyser.

Mick is hit with a surging bit of energy, that rattle through his very skeleton, and the silent, stoic "MURDERHOUSE" Mick screams out as the pain of this attack fries him inside and out. Some kids in the audience can almost smell the burning flesh, and those freaky eyes of Mick's glare, stay open, looking right at Terry.

And then, the big man waded through it, stepping through the onslaught and grabbing at Terry. He grabbed at the man's neck and arm, tried to hoist Terry up on his shoulders, and SCREAMED out again, before leaping up!

Now, how is it nobody noticed the large, thick, Japanese wooden table, that was set on fire? Did one of the students set it up, a renegade supporter of the hardcore wrestler? Was it always there and just not noticed? Good questions, not answered, as Mick(if this hit), aimed Terry's neck, skull and shoulders, tried to plant him right through that table, and right into the auditorium floor, tried to crack the wood from the force of the impact.

There is a few moments where Faolan is a bit glad he decided to hold back even if it was just for a moment. What just happened to the other Irishman could have very well happened to him. Then again thems the breaks. He would have taken it like a champ, or so he would like to think he would, if it was thrown his way. Instead he is left standing and after a moment's consideration he dives right back into the thick of things. He does his best to stay the hell out of Mick's way, but also attempting to find an opening for himself to strike.

In the end he decides to keep his distance and some of the energy gathered into his bata forms an orb at the top of one end. He swings the fighting stick and sends the small orb sailing right for Terry to try and deliver another electrical like zap. Right now it might be his best bet given getting between Terry and Mick at the moment doesn't seem all too pleasing even if it might be fun.

Reese watches, again, as both Mick and Faolan go after Terry. And she's tempted, oh so tempted, to just say screw the fight and go after Faolan instead. The timing, however, isn't //quite// right for that, and as the Ikari hasn't gone out of his way to retaliate for that night in Egypt, she's trying to keep herself in check.

But it's difficult.

//Really// difficult.

So she swiftly uncoils the whip and cracks it overhead to draw Terry's attention away from the other attacks in the hopes they'll hit.

'You really should just go after the bata, it's worth a lot more than staying in the fight. You know you want to.'

That niggling little voice in the back of her head is really starting to wear on her. It's distracting her as she barrels forward with a side-step hook punch and tries to swiftly twist out of Terry's way before he can retaliate.

"Yeah, that's it! Come on!" He really does seem to be encouraging them, evident in his voice. That doesn't mean he's just gonna -stand there-, though, oh hell no. Mick gets his grip--briefly. Terry twists and swivels out of it, breaking the hold before Mick can drop him onto that burning table, and the sweeping movement brings him to--the crackling ball of energy, and that is taken care of with a quick, ducking forward lunge--something he saw Dudley do once.

And then Reese, whose hook-punch is ducked under. And as he ducks, he moves with her, matching her twist--and looking to snag her around the waist with both arms, continue the twist, and hurl her off her feet. Yeah, he's doing well, but they've made their mark. He can't afford to take them lightly, not all three as a group, and he knows it. He'll save the posturing. For now.

Terry wouldn't get away that easily. As he pistoned away, Mick turns around, and after Terry misses or fails that little throw of his, he would throw a kick at Terry's groin, to hopefully double the fighter over. If this worked, Mick would grab the man, and leap up.

If one had ever seen Zangief or Haggar piledrive someone, this would be very similar, with only two differences. One, Mick was grabbing the legs of Terry, gripping to make it look like Terry was sitting down upside down. The other, was that Terry's head wasn't just sailing for the ground, but rather a cinder block, just waiting to be crushed by that noggin.

There is a light tch that comes from Faolan as he finds Terry too fast. He at least isn't the only one having problems. Each of the three might give one another trouble in a fight, but Terry is just really showing what has made him famous. It makes sense they are in school at the moment. Terry is certainly teaching them an important lesson in face punchings and doing very well with it. Faolan is at the point he will feel better about himself if he can even land something cleanly. At this point a kick to the ankle would suffice. Hmm......nah.

There will be no wussy strikes like that coming from the Ikari. He dashes in forward. He can't seem to get to Terry from a distance or up close so he rather just be in his own comfort zone which is right in the thick of things. Even when Mick goes on the attack Faolan is coming in to swing low with his bata. He is just going for the back of Terry's knees to try and throw the fighter off balance. "Hup!"

Terry, she's learning, is bloody slippery. He moves fast, he reacts fast, and even with the three of them they're barely a match. Reese learns this //as// she's being hugged, twisted, and hurled off her feet -- again. Hitting the dais with a loud whump, the Aussie stays down briefly. Just enough to check that she's still actually breathing and hasn't crashed through the floor.

As she pushes back to her feet again, she looks strange -- angry even. This time when she moves forward there is a strange coating of ruby-red energy coating her hand and upper arm as she lunges forward and strikes out with a punch to Terry's gut, then immediately attempts to flip //him// down onto the dais.

Kicks to the groin? Hmph. Heel turn. And that's what Terry does, twisting away from that kick, not even bothering to knock it away. The very gesture probably speaks volumes about what he thinks of -that- tactic. Faolan's low swing, well--that's different. He isn't going for any sensitive areas. Throwing himself backwards, Terry performs a neat little handstand flip, the weapon passing through just where he was.

... and then, there's Reese, who finally scores, the punch stunning Terry just enough to let her flip him into the dais, which collapses like a movie prop. Terry rolls with it, and pops back up to his feet, and though she looks angry, Terry doesn't really let that register.

But, since she did hit him... Terry throws a long side-kick her way, throwing his torso back as he leans into the kick, looking to tag her right in the breadbasket. Maybe to put her way--for the fight, at least--or just to discourage her from being so bold again.

Mick just stepped forward when Terry spun around, throwing his kick at the same woman. Mick sneered, stepping up and reaching out to lock his hands around the waist of the blonde man.

"The way yer goin' after her, ya'd think she's workin' yer corners."

And then, if this worked, he'd hoist Terry up, trying to deadlift the man, only to smash him back down in a vicious, stiff 'backdrop', except Mick wouldn't let go, propping himself up and picking Terry up, to drop him down in a combination of a powerbomb and a piledriver, but not even this was the end. Mick would keep a grip on Terry's leg, to spin and throw him up into the air, leaping up and grabbing at Terry, a string of moves ended with Terry's throat against Mick's bicep, coming down in a "Stunner"-like maneuver. If this worked, anyway.

They all just have to keep it up. No matter how good he is trying to deal with three people at once constantly isn't exactly easy. There is proof to that when Reese finally scores what looks like a pretty clean hit on Terry. He just smirks some between that and hearing the comment from Mick. He does at least manage to keep from making a rather snide comment himself. There are more important things right now. He has to keep pressing his own attack. He will keep chipping away at things if he has to. That is all he can do afterall.

Having to dance around the rather grapple happy style of the other Irish fighter is also throwing off his game somewhat. Even so he makes due with what he can and tries to find his own spots during the melee. When Terry kicks out towards Reese he just goes for the other leg. He comes in low again and this time the bata strike is a feint as he just reaches with his free hand to try and grab Terry's other leg and pull it out from under him.

Finally, a solid strike.

And what's Reese's reward? Getting kicked halfway across the damned auditorium.

When she finally lands on a row of students, she doesn't even bother to apologize to them. She's sore, she's pretty sure she's got something cracked or broken. As long as it's not her pretty ruby pendant, she seems to be fine with that. She'll push //through// the damned pain before she passes out.

'//NOW//. Now is the time to try for the bata. You've bided your time all night. Go for it now, when he'll least be suspecting you of doing it...'

Pained as she is, injured as she is, the Aussie just seems to take the voice in stride and smirks. Yes, now //would// be the best time to go for it. Get him when he has no idea it's coming, or at least //try//. Then pry the bata from his hands //after// the fight, when he's drinking himself into a stupor.

From her downed position, Reese whips out both guns. Then she angles them in such a way as to catch both Terry //and// Faolan with the attack before she fires off a barrage of super-charged energy-bullets at them. At least two dozen shots are made with the energy coalescing together to form a gigantic super-sized bullet that blasts toward each of them before it explodes.

Terry isn't above a little verbal sparring. "She's doin' better than you, 'mate'," the blonde informs the wrestler--and then he breaks Mick's grip on his waist, pushing the wrestler away, and then having Faolan on him--the pull on his leg brings him off-balance, but he recovers, slapping his hands down as he falls, absorbing the impact and kicking his leg free, rising--into a hail of energy bullets. Twisting away, several impact his body and push him away from Faolan.

So, turning towards Mick, Terry grins a little and bursts into a quick-step run, then leaps up and attempts to punch the man right in the temple, his right fist snapping outwards to look to tag the man.

Terry admires courage, but braggadocios need not apply. If you can't back it up... well, then you need to get better. It's a lesson he had to learn the hard way. Hopefully Mick can take that away from here, but it isn't time to be teaching lessons yet.

Terry's fist smashed against the mask-covered jaw of Mick, who pivoted and crumpled hard. He'd been hit hard, and fell hard, his exertion working against him as he drifted. This was entirely in Faolan's hands now, although, had it ever not been? No, not a good "first match" for Mick.

He should have saw it coming. He was honestly waiting for it to happen from the get go. The fact it took his long is what catches Faolan off guard. And while Terry manages to handle the large blast sent towards the two fighters, Faolan was a bit more busy trying his best to keep attacking and it is too late when he realizes he is going to be caught in the incoming blast. He tries to steady himself and bring up the bata to help fend off the majority of it, but he takes the blast fully and it sends him tumbling away from Terry and he ends up sprawled on the ground. "You you fucking whore...." He is glad his mom doesn't watch these sort of things. He would be getting an earful for that, but still....that whore.

By the time he gets up he manages to see Terry dispose of the other Irish fighter which leaves both Faolan and Terry left as the last two standing. "Heh, looks like it is just us, huh?" he tries to clear the cobwebs and he takes a deep breath as he prepares to take his last stand. "Ahh well. Bring it!" he calls out to Terry and prepares for the worst.

Terry nods, in salute and acknowledgement of Faolan's courage. "You said you were an Ikari? I've fought 'em. Tough bastards. Especially that commander of yours. Good fighters, all." Maybe not quite in Terry's class, in general, but close enough to be worthy of respect. Yes, now that he thinks about it, he sees that same dogged relentlessness in his opponent's eyes.

"Alright then, let's make it explosive!" And, so saying, Terry drops down to one knee, just like before, and punches the ground--but it doesn't erupt in the geyser of power, 'just' a hissing projectile, accompanied by his shout of "BANG!!" Just like shooting gun, except not really.

"Yeah, Heidern is a tough old bastard." he says with a small chuckle. "He does well at kinda making us all as stubborn as he is too." Faolan may not be as seasoned as other members of the mercenary unit, but the man certainly seems to follow in the footsteps of the more famous names from that group. He isn't sure what Terry might just try, but he is as prepared as he was going to be in this case. He is tense and ready only to find himself soon facing down another projectile that is sailing his way. Now is do or die time.

And as much as he wants it to be 'do' time it seems like it is more die time. He actually charges forward, intending to take the brunt of the attack so he can try to catch Terry by surprise and attack. It just doesn't work how he intended. That blast is alot more powerful than he expected and it stops him dead in his tracks and pushes him backwards to where he tumbles and lands on his back again. "Shit...." he murmurs as he lays there and decides to stay down. That took too much out of him combined with the sneak attack from Reese. He needs to take a few moments before even wanting to bother moving.

And that ends the fight. Terry turns to the crowd and lifts his hands in victory, then walks over to Faolan to help him up. "You guys did well," says the Wolf, "listen to that old bastard commander of yours. He's got you on the right path." And with that, he walks out, collecting his duffel along the way. He might or might not actually come back to teach the classes. Probably not. But he -might-.

COMBATSYS: Terry wanders on to find the next challenge.
