SNF 2011.11 - SNF: "An Offer You Can't Refuse"

Description: The wilds of India? Can Ken withstand the might of Miracle Fighter 'S'?! (Winner: Sagat)

It has been months since the end of King of Fighters has ended. Things seem to somewhat be returned to normal to at least the regular Joes and such. The fighting world has been turned a bit sideways due to Vega's interference in China and it would seem a great force had attacked Ken Masters just the other week. A fighter that doesn't seem to be associated with Vega, but seems perhaps even more deadly. Meanwhile off in the outskirts of Sri Lanka one fighter had taken time to recoup and train harder to get himself prepared for when he would show himself. That time seems to be now.

The only equipment for recording would be what Ken would have brought with him. The town itself might be barely count as one. Many huts and makeshift living spaces along with several boats for fishing make up the populated part. The fight itself is kept away from there so damage isn't done to anything important. There is no real ring, but some markers have been put on trees to be makeshift boundries on where the fighters should stay. Alot of the townsfolk have gathered past said boundries and are peeking about. Whoever seemed to have made the request for this fight has made it a rather big deal because it seems like all activities have stopped for now so everyone could watch.

There is also a distinct lack of another fighter Ken would soon find out if he looked about. All he gets told is that the other fighter is on his way and not much else. Don't they know who he is? They certainly seem to not mind telling him he has to be patient.

India. Home of Elephants and Tigers, and people who are capable of acting like Stretch Armstrong at the drop of a hat. Yet, it has truly been some time since Ken has been in India, and when he was told he had a special request to go there, he was pretty much ready to go along with it. Then there's the fact it's some guy calling himself 'Miracle Fighter 'S'', which really grabs his attention.

A small ragtag crew of personal has volunteered to come along for the ride, bringing with them compact HD cameras to try and film this match that is taking place in the wilds of India. Of course, this match has to be filmed as Masters Media got numerous complaints and demands for refunds as the special match from the week previous was lost due to 'technical failures'. It's really tough being a multimedia mogul at times.

As the village tells Ken he is to wait for his opponent, a slight grin appears on his face. Already he's headed out of the village and had his crew setup a makeshift arena, taking great care to ensure that once this fight is done (So long as it isn't Akuma, AGAIN), the nearby wilderness will be left as untouched as possible.

It is probably a good guess the opponent certainly isn't Akuma. Given his entrance last time and his lack of caring about personal property it is very safe to assume he is not the one that has decided to make this challenge. Of course the challenger also did not find out that the person he sent to request the match had decided to give a rather strange and embarassing name. He probably won't be too happy when he finds out about the name since he was wanting to have a serious fight and it is hard to do so when someone decides that the mystery opponent's name is THAT.

Even so there is plenty of time for the cameras and equipment to be set up before there is some noise from the locals. "He's coming!" a few call out and even through the thickness of the jungle it is easy to see a rather large form lurking through it and coming towards the designated fight area. Few men are that tall as well so unless it is someone new it doesn't take Ken long to realize who it could be.

Stepping forward a man thought dead from the fight against Orochi makes his presence known. The former Emporer of Muay Thai stands tall with his single eye narrowed on Ken. "I see you are doing better after the last time we met. You certainly weren't yourself then, Masters." he comments as he studies Ken. The large Thai fighter is in his more traditional fighting gear. Something he has not worn for a long time given his more recent issues with Shadaloo and his attempts to stay out of the spotlight. Attempts that failed given he was one of the members of the winning team of the most recent King of Fighters.

This is really not what Ken was expecting. There is a bit of trepdation as Sagat comes closer. Shadaloo has caused numerous headaches not only for himself, but his extended family as well. Of course, if there were any true honor among theives, Sagat would be the one who would have the one to exemplify it. This isn't the time for Ken to be nitpicking things however, as he has managed to do in a few short month things that took Shadaloo years to become infamous for.

Ken's right hand extends towards Sagat as a slight smile appears on his face, nodding towards the Muay Thai master. "I've had.. a couple of wakeup calls.. if you could call them that." Yeah, Ryu and Akuma both kicking him around and calling him naughty could classify as a wakeup call if one really thought about it.

"I'll be honest. I'm pretty surprised to see you. I didn't think you'd want to challange me of all people. Especially since you're supposed to be dead. Then again, I did have Geese Howard magically come back from the dead to talk to me. So, I guess I see dead people?" A slight grin arises on Ken's face as he moves away from Sagat, easily sliding into his stance, nodding to the Muay Thai master to bring it on.

A nod of respect is given, but the extended hand is not taken. It seems the old man still seems quite the serious type if anything. Some things will never change it would seem. At least he is attempting to change the more important things such as the path he walks now. "I had to bide my time. Now that I am recovered and back in shape I can take whatever Shadaloo throws at me." he tells the other fighter and that more serious look turns into a bit of a grin. "That is if they aren't scared." Which they probably aren't. Nothing really intimidates Vega.

He then tilts his head a bit about the mention of Geese coming back from the dead and a brow raises. "I am unsure about that, but I certainly was dead only when it suited me. I have too much still left to do." One man to finally beat. Then maybe just maybe he can slow down and enjoy life. "That is why you are here. If I can't do well against you then I certainly am no match for him." This is the first true fight since he was injured on that island. Has he recovered enough or does he still have much to do to get back to his old self?

It seems now is the time to find out. When Ken nods towards Sagat, the Muay Thai master shifts his stance into a fighting one as well before closing the distance and sending a quick kick towards the shoulder of the the American. If anything if it connects Ken will realize the old man hasn't lost a bit of his strength.

The kick truly hasn't lost its power, thats for sure. The impact alone causes Ken to really have to regain his balance, wincing slightly from the pain that shoots up his arm. Of course, pain is only temporary and a bright grin appears on the Ansatsuken users face. "Well now, it seems that Vega didn't run your skills into the ground after all." Ryu may be the stoic one, however Ken is the one that will keep the in-fight commentary going all night long.

Already the cameras are rolling, capturing every single frame of what could be another historic SNF battle for years to come. That is of course, if Ken can manage to break this losing streak he's been having.

Almost as if he were wanting to mimic Sagat's moves, Ken's right leg suddenly sweeps forward, aimed for the Muay Thai master's chest. It seems that Ken's looking to repay the favor in exact change.

Sagat is not often much of a talker himself when it comes to a fight. In part he takes this perhaps too serious all the time even when it is a fight like this where he is testing his skill against a worthy fighter. "Of course not. Keeping focused on training is the only thing I could do to keep myself calm and bide my time. I will slow down once I get old." Or really in his case older. How long can a man like Sagat just keep in this sort of shape? Time will catch up with him eventually.

For now it still seems he is sharp and able to telegraph the incoming strike. He shifts his stance and brings an arm up to deflect the kick and with his free hand he quickly goes to grab for the other fighter's leg. If he can get ahold of it he also uses his other hand to grab for the gi so he can pick up Ken high overhead and then toss the other fighter away. If anything if the former emporerer has his way at least Ken will be a fair distance away to where he will have a moment to recover.

It seems that Ken is having a bit of trouble trying to get into the rhythm for this fight, wincing slightly as he climbs back to his feet from being flung so easy by the Tiger of Muay Thai. A deep breath is taken, especially as Ken tries to figure out how to best take down this man. Grudges make for a big weight in fights, and Sagat has a big one against a certain Ansatsuken master..

"You sure about that? I know plenty of old guys who can still slap me around like I was twelve again..." Ken has to admit it. Sagat's skills are still sharp, and now he's having to play by his rules. Quickly rushing back towards the Tiger, Ken's body pivots upon his left foot as he gets closer, swinging his right leg in a vicious roundhouse towards Sagat's head.

There is a slight chortle that comes from the larger fighter. "I know plenty of punk kids that can also take me down. It is just one of those vicious cycles of some sort I suppose." he comments and that little grin of his becomes a more stern expression again as he watches Ken come right at him. He is looking for the American to provide an opening and it seems that Sagat sees it right as he begins to kick with his right leg. "Just give me all you got. I will not hold back either!"

It certainly seems like he isn't kidding in this case too. He moves to where the kick slams into his shoulder while he brings back one fist then launches himself upwards as he plants his fist firmly against the jaw of Ken and goes skyward. There is abit of a growl as he delivers the powerful uppercut he has become so well known for as he lands gracefully back onto the ground and resumes his fighting stance. He is doing well now, but he must not let himself get overconfident. Of all people Sagat knows it is just one move that can change an entire fight and he needs to be prepared for anything the American might throw at him.

Once more Ken's flying off into the sky, only to have a landing that Launchpad McQuack would be very proud of. Once more he's climbing to his feet, shaking his head to get rid of those stars that now blur his vision. He's supposed to be the one who delivers uppercuts. Not the otherway around. "Ugh.. Okay. That didn't work like I wanted."

Well, when in doubt, borrow something from Ryu's bag o' tricks. It's obvious as to what Ken is about to do as his hands immediatly pivot to his side, chi gathering to form that beautiful blue and white ball of destruction that so many people have faced. Of course, now its Sagat's turn to deal with it as Ken's hands are thrust forward, launching it straight towards Mister Muay Thai.

"HADOUKEN!"

"Things rarely do. That is why we do our best to adapt." the larger fighter comments overhearing what Ken had to say. He still keeps his ground and waits to see what Ken might have up his sleeve and he soon finds out in the way of a fireball he has become rather familiar with over the years. Never being the speedy type there is little in the options that Sagat has at the moment. He kneels down and puts his arms up to protect his body as best he can to let the hadouken slam into him and let his forearms take the brunt of the damage. He quickly rises to his feet afterwards and charges forward. He comes right for Ken at full speed as he leaps off his feet and comes sailing forward, his face turning into a snear as he brings a knee forward with the intent of just ramming it right into the chest of Ken at full speed. "Grrrraaaaagh!"

Sagat has something special coming his way as he rushes towards Ken. A slight smirk appears on the American's face as he gauges the distance, knowing that timing is going to be the key factor in order to make Sagat regret trying to rush him again.

As Sagat's knee gets ever closer, Ken lets it graze upon his chest, allowing the force of the attack to give him some extra momentum for a brutal kick to catch the Muay Thai Master unaware, leaving him open for one of the crimson clad man's most devistating attacks. Brilliantly red chi suddenly trails down Ken's arm as he ducks down low, knowing that poor Sagat is going to really feel the heat as he's drug upwards towards the heavens with one of the most brutal variants of the Shoryuken.

"SHINRYUU KEN!"

Maybe, just maybe Sagat was letting himself get overconfident despite doing his best not to. He saw Ken looking weakened and he went in for the kill. It is a mistake in the end and Ken has much more fight than maybe he was showing. If he was baiting the Tiger into a trap he did it hook, line and sinker. Much like how he found an opening earlier against Ken, likewise the American manages to find a way through the defenses of Sagat and delivers that powerful blow. He feels the fist slam hard into him along with the power of the energy that fist is encased in at the moment. Finally the larger fighter has been taken off his feet as he is taken off his feet and send back several feet before he lands.

"It has been a long time since I felt something like that...." Sagat murmurs as he gets to his feet. "Tell me. Have you fought him recently?" he asks while trying to focus and shake the cobwebs out of his head. "And is he still as strong as ever?" He balls his hand into a fist and he takes a deep breath while the dirt around his feet swirls about from the massive amount of energy he is gathering. He then lunges forward, his body airborne again to deliver another knee. Only this time it is just the beginning. Looks like he won't give Ken time to answer because if he connects he follows up with a series of strikes before going into another uppercut to knock him off his feet and then his own hand flares brightly with energy as he lands and launches upwards again, a loud roar coming from him as he attempts to slam that chi covered fist into Ken with another uppercut.

The attacks that come towards Ken are brutal, and are truly becoming of the former Emperor of Muay Thai, however the american man isn't about to let himself get caught up in them. Quickly stepping backwards, he narrowly avoids the first attack, exhaling slightly as he knows that may have truly ended this fight right then and there. He still has questions to answer, and he can't quite do that if he's passed out, right?

"Yeah. A couple of weeks ago. I think he's been visiting with Eliza and Mel. Then again, he might have wandered off again. You can never tell with him." The first part of Sagat's question is answered rather easily, of course there's still more to it and right now isn't really the time to ponder over someone else. There has to be a way for Ken to win this, and right now he's going to have to take a moment to catch his breath and refocus on the challange at hand.

COMBATSYS: Ken gains composure.

There is a nod and despite the fact he missed with the initial knee and he stops himself from going into the following flurry with Masters out of the way. "I see. I was wondering what he was doing given I did not hear of him during the Orochi ordeal. I was starting to to think something must have happened." Though knowing Ryu he travels in such a erratic way he could have probably missed the entire issue with Orochi while he was off training by himself.

He doesn't look like he is going to let Ken take too much time to catch his breath. He comes in again, a feint of a quick kick is made before Sagat comes forward with a quick punch to the chest followed by by an elbow that attempts to slam into the jaw of the shorter fighter. "Then I know my training was not in vain. Our paths will cross soon enough I hope." he comments while quickly getting back into a defensive position.

The jab strikes home, yet Ken's got his right arm raised upwards to absorb the impact of the strike that was aimed for his jaw. There's another stinging sensation, yet that brief respite was enough to get him back on track. "He's stronger then I remembered."

There's a slight wince as Ken lowers the arm that just got elbowed, knowing that its going to be bruised to hell and back after all is said and done. Already the American Warrior is rushing forward, hands reaching out to grab ahold of Sagat. If he manages to grab ahold, then Sagat'll find himself being flung up and over, as Ken uses his own weight against him.

He has gotten stronger? Sagat supposes he isn't surprised by hearing that, but at the same time he has to wonder just how much. Ken is a great fighter so for him to admit that makes the Muay Thai warrior wonder if his training has been enough. It is also something that distracts him enough that Ken almost gets a good enough grip to toss the larger fighter. Sagat recovers quickly enough to block it and ken just finds himself in very close quarters with Sagat.

"Then I just have keep going. No more sitting idle here and training on my own." He will have to go back to finding strong opponents if he has any hopes to get on the level of being able to compete with Ryu from the sounds of it. He uses his strength to try and push Ken off of him and possibly throw him off balance as he quickly brings a leg up and delivers a powerful straight kick aimed for the chest of the smaller fighter.

COMBATSYS: Sagat successfully hits Ken with Medium Kick.

The kick hurts a great deal, and it leaves Ken clutching at his chest in pain. He's not down and out yet, but he sure is getting close. "Actually.. Now that I know you're alive, I've got something I want to ask you to do for me.. It can wait until after we're done though.." He already knows that Sagat would be perfect for the new game he's playing, and now there's a good way to get a foot hold into convincing the Muay Thai Master into playing along.

Ken takes another deep breath as he swings his right leg around, releasing his chi in a fiery torrent, hoping to catch Sagat within his next attack, which will only continue as fiery kick after fiery kick is delivered unto Sagat, only for him to be drug upwards in a flaming tornado that is Ken's variant of the Tatsumaki Senpuu Kyaku.

Something he wants from Sagat? The large fighter is intrigued, but much like Ken said such curiousity can wait. There is a fight to be had and he is not quite done yet. Looks like there is plenty of fight still left between the two. When Ken goes for the kick Sagat actually starts to step into it, but the force ends up being more than he could have anticipated. Whatever he was planning his thwarted by the multiple kicks that Ken delivers to the larger fighter who is sent staggering back and he manages to catch himself on one knee instead of falling down completely. "Very well. I will try not to knock you out so you can ask." he says with a slight grin.

He straightens back up and his hands begin to glow again as the chi is gathered and he pulls both hands back. He balls them up into fists and he steps forward as he thrusts both hands towards Ken. The result is a wave of chi being sent at the other fighter. Ken and Ryu have their fancy fireballs and all that, but Sagat can play that game too. "Tiiiiigaaah!" he shouts loudly upon releasing the blast of chi.

The wave of chi isn't something Ken would generally snicker at, especially since its something thats coming from Sagat. There is a brief moment where it seems it might strike true and proud, yet Ken manages to narrowly dodge it, only for a brief respite.

"You have to get me down first. Of course, I'm not going to give up." The US Champion's eyes focus solely upon Sagat, trying to watch the Muay Thai Master in order to make sure that something unexpected won't happen again.

And he never expected Ken to give up. There is a reason why he wanted this fight to be his first after letting it be known he is still alive. Ryu isn't exactly easy to get ahold and even if so this is a perfect test to even see if Sagat is ready for that challenge. Right now Ken is proving to be more than a handful despite Sagat starting out strong. It just took the American a short bit to get used to dealing with the larger fighter and seems to be doing well enough now at this point.

It is probably not something unexpected. In fact this sort of thing is probably one of the least unexpected strikes that he could have aimed towards the other fighter while Ken was holding back for that brief moment. The former emporer just surges forward and he turns while attempting to slow his momentum while extending one large leg forward and attempting to plant the foot right into Ken's face.

For a brief moment, it'll look like Sagat's manage to plant that foot in Ken's face, but on closer inspection, the cameras catch the fact that gingerly holding the foot mere centimeters away from Ken's face is his right hand, which nimbly tosses the foot aside. "Whew. Almost got me there, didn't 'ya?"

Ken once more allows his hands to fly towards Sagat, knowing that since he's closer, he may have a better chance at sending Sagat flying like he attempted to earlier. Then again, he may fail miserably.

There is a light grunt in annoyance ffrom the larger fighter. He didn't expect his kick to be stopped like that and the taunt just seems to make that single eye of Sagat narrow a bit more. "Just will try harder next time." he says, though there is a hint of frustration starting to show though his otherwise unflappable demeanor he has had most of this fight. A good thing to an extent for Ken because that probably means Sagat is going to be more prone to mess up. At the same time if he gets caught it could be a very, very bad thing.

Speaking of bad things that might just happen because Sagat is grabbing right for Ken right now. Hands reach up to try and grab him by the gi and pull him forward into a series of quick knees aimed to slam against the younger fighter one, two , three, and finally a fourth time before he would go and toss him aside. More prone to mistakes more than likely, but also very much more aggressive now it would seem.

Sometimes, theres bad luck, and then theres horrific luck. Right now, Ken seems to be having a bit of the bad kind. As Sagat's hands reached out to grab ahold of him, Ken's already launching his own hands to try and counter the grapple, only for Sagat to win in this exchange. A brutal barrage of attacks only to be followed up by being flung like yesterdays garbage leaves the US Champion laughing slightly as he once more tries to get to his feet.

"Ugh. So, I take it grabbing your foot was a bad thing?" Yep, even though he just got slapped around like a red headed step-child, he's still trying to taunt Sagat some, knowing that if he can unnerve his elder, he can exploit it.

"Maybe a little he comments." and lurches forward again. He is starting to run otu of steam despite doing his best to keep his body in tip top condition. Might be another reason why he might be getting frustrated. The more worn down he is getting the faster Ken seems to be getting as well which can make things tricky for him if this keeps up for much longer. It might be best to abandon his hard hitting style, but old habits do die hard.

He refrains from allowing himself from getting more worked up. H keeps focused and he tries not to let Ken get too far away from him. Being so large has its advantages because even if Ken is faster Sagat has a much better reach he tries to use to its fullest while he brings back a fist and then gives straight forward strike while leaning in low to plant it firmly into the stomach of the other fighter and knock the air out of him.

Over confidence is the downfall of many fighters, and Ken generally isn't any better. The moment that fist starts hurtling towards his stomach, the crimson clad Ansatsuken user is building chi once more upon his fist, ducking down low to try and interrupt with his most famed move.

"SHORYU---" Mistiming or mismanagement of ability can be used as an excuse for what happens, but that rapidly approaching fist of Sagat's misses the intended target of Ken's stomach, and nails him in his jaw, sending him hurtling away, only to land in a crumpled heap on the ground.

"Ow..."

The larger fighter starts to stalk forward, but then he stops when Ken seems to be rather slow to move and get up. Instead he takes the moment to take a moment to let his body have a break, but does keep himself ready in case it is another strick up the American's sleeve. In that respect he stays a fair distance away so he has time to throw up a proper defense if need be. For now he just enjoys the breather he is allowed to take for the time being.

He does end up after a few more moments crossing his arms over his chest as he stands up straight. He nods to the other fighter. "You have been getting better too. What is it you wanted to ask me?" He at least kept his promise to do his best not to knock the younger fighter up. Given his strength that is often easier said than done even when dealing with tough opponents like Ken Masters.

COMBATSYS: Sagat has ended the fight here.

A quick motion is given towards the Camera crew, who immediatly stop filming and begin the painful task of cleaning up, and making sure that the area was just brawled in is cleaned up to the best of their ability.

Ken slowly starts to climb to his feet, and reaches into his gi, pulling out a business card. "I want you to help me bring up the next generation. When people think of Muay Thai.. Quite honestly, they think of you. The Neo Development Project needs your talents. There is something in it for you as well, besides helping the next generation grow and mark their own notches on the belt of fame. He's helping me as well with it."

Neo Development Project? Sagat does his best to keep up with things happening around the world despite being in a pretty out of the way place. Even so he has not heard of this. "Training of the next generation.....hmm." he takes the card and it makes him think of that young fighter Quon. He has done his best to avoid the fighter, but he does hope he is okay after all this time. Maybe he should make an effort to see what is going on with him. Now that he is free of Shadaloo maybe he can properly train that boy. For all he knows he might be involved.
