Description: Entertainment Center Asteroid: a bastion of release for the younger Ruskies (you can't get your bear-wrestling license until you're 27), that is an example of arcade wonder that you rarely find in the world anymore. That's probably because almost all of the games are ten years or older, but are well-kept and maintained. The place is has had its rows of coin-ops all pushed to the outer wall, just outside of a makeshift ring of steel dividers so people can play their games AND watch the beat-down. The din of tinny sound effects, clattering air hockey pucks, and pinball machines will make it difficult to hear anything in this place. With Shenwoo being held up somewhere, it's up to Reese and Elias to tame the Russian spectators with a different sort of match. (WINNER: Elias)
( Shenwoo was a no-show for this fight, so Reese tried to take on Elias by herself. It did not end well for her. )
Russia is certainly an interesting place. Through all of his travels Elias has been to the country rarely. Not that he didn't want to, but more he was always too busy to make time to visit. That being said it was rather enjoyable to wander around a few days while waiting for his match. The strange brawler that hung out with Ash alot seems to be the opponent tonight too. He must be good if they thought Elias needed a partner. Or is it the officials just don't know how strong the priest actually is.
He is also the most out of place person right now. Definantly the oldest. The priest stands in the ring that was setup for the fight to take place in and he patiently waits with hands clasped behind his back and standing rather still. Those shades still cover his eyes despite the rather dim lighting of the arcade and he looks to be his usual stonefaced self. Does that expression ever change? Alice might be the only person that knows the answer to that one.
It does seem like Shenwoo is running late. The man seems to be like Ash in that respect. It does seem birds of a feather do flock together. Even so he is sure Shenwoo will show up. The man seems to love a good fight and there is no way he would miss out on a match would he?
Reese is running a tiny bit late herself, but not through any fault of her own. She's been at the arcade for at least an hour before the match was scheduled to start, but got fanboy-trapped. Every time she avoids one group, another one pops up and asks her if she's here to promote a new game.
It's one of those times that she //really// should have thought to change her outfit before coming in.
"Crikey! How many times will it take for me to make you all understand that I'm not an actress dressed up like that video game woman?"
Seeing her best opportunity to slip away from them, she hops over the ring ropes and then glances at the man with the sunglasses. Her brow quirks upward and she asks, "Opponent or partner?" What? She can't be expected to know every fighter on sight.
It isn't exactly like Elias is very well known. He was involved with King of Fighters, but had problems with the devil in human skin named Vega that kept him from being reliable enough to have made the first round match where Ash and company were defeated. Also in that respect the priest doesn't really keep up with the fighting world as much as he probably should if he plans to be in fights like this. "Partner." he says and that expression doesn't change, though he unclasps his hands and he rests one on his chest as he bows. "Elias Patrick."
He straightens back up and clasps his hands behind his back again. "It would seem our opponent is running late as well." Certainly not for the same reason that Reese was late.....at least he hopes. The crowd is getting a bit annoyed at this point too. At least the ones that showed up for the fight and not for the gaming. There are some things being thrown and the officials are looking nervous. It looks like they aren't too sure about if the God of Battle will be showing up anytime soon and they are debating if it is best to run while they can before people get too fiesty.
"Reese Jones," she offers with a smile. The man never offered his hand to her, so she's not about to offer hers out either. "I apologize for that. For some reason when I come to places like this..." Shaking her head, she stretches and takes her hat off. Setting the hat to a nearby post, she turns back to Elias and smiles. "I do hope they show up soon."
That's when she needs to duck to avoid an air hockey puck that's hurtling in their direction.
"It's a pleasure to meet you at any rate. Can't say as I've ever fought in a gaming arcade. A comic convention once, that was pretty rowdy too."
Items do seem to be going airborne with increased frequency. The priest somehow has not been hit by one despite not moving aside from the bow he gave a few moments ago. He is about to respond to the woman when one of the officials quickly dashes over. "We can't get ahold of Shenwoo. We don't have a backup for him either." he tries to explain to the two fighters without being loud enough or fans to hear. The priest just slowly nods and he looks to Reese for a moment before looking back to the official. "How troublesome." he comments while pondering things over.
The official pretty much dives down to avoid being hit by a water bottle that was tossed from a fan. "Well we might want to get out of here, Father. Nothing worse than raging Russians." he says with a half joke, but he certainly looks like he doesn't want to find out how true that may be. "I do not mind waiting if we can see if he shows up." Elias offers. Not quite sure what else to suggest.
"Look out, mate!" An air hockey paddle is thrown toward Elias, and Reese has got her whip out to crack into it and send it back toward a nearby wall. "They're really restless." Someone obviously really wants to watch the fight or has already been too heavily into the vodka today. Winding the whip back up, the Aussie glances at the official and then frowns.
"No contact? At all? Hopefully not a plane delay, or something worse." She glances between Elias and the official, tilting her head and looking lost in thought. What would she do if she and Marius were stuck in a situation waiting for a mark -- an opponent.
"Exhibition?"
The mention of an exhibition does make Elias look over to the woman. He didn't consider that option, but in part he just isn't sure how much difference between the two as far as fighting experience goes. The official seems to warm up to the idea quickly and he turns about and grabs the woman by the hands and he just nods quickly. "Brilliant! You and the priest can beat eachother up and that should calm people down!" he doesn't even really allow either fighter to agree to it and instead he dashes to the booth and grabs the mic to make it official. It is now Elias against Reese.
There is still some disappointment seen around the crowd, but at least a fight will start now and that is something. Far less things are being thrown now as the priest takes a few steps forward. "Very well. Feel free to come at me." he tells Reese while giving another nod before he shifts to get in his fighting stance. Given how he is standing the man might have been a bit of a boxer back in his day.

"We can?"
Reese looks a little perplexed. If it'll help calm the people down, it may give time for their missing opponent to show, or time for the officials to reschedule the match for a later date, or...
Then it's being called out over the PA system and the Aussie groans. Now she's actually got to try and suss out the strange priest before she makes a move. His stance gives him away a little and she takes a deep breath. This is going to be another one of those types of fights.
Unraveling the whip from her hip, she nods at him. Then she cracks the whip over her head before she barrels in toward the man with a side-stepped hook punch and a twist away from him.

Well he is a big guy, but that probably means he is slow at least. Of course it is hard to tell given the lack of knowing his style. He does seem slow enough that she manages to find an opening and she nails him with that punch. The hit doesn't even really seem to make the priest budge and if there was any doubt the man is nothing but muscle given the fact it is almost like hitting a wall. Hey, all that time in prison gave him alot of time to work out.
He turns about to try and catch the woman off guard with a quick punch. One aimed at her shoulder before another aimed at her midsection, his hand briefly flashing red and a small trail of chi dissipates quickly to where many people could have easily missed it. It seems like the priest does have a few tricks up his sleeve. Given the force of the punches if they hit he also isn't holding back. To some fighters that sort of thing is an insult and he isn't sure how Reese would react if he held back.

Reese looks down at her gloved fist and frowns. Christ. He's like hitting a brick wall. At least her fist doesn't seem to be broken, but she's going to have to be careful where she punches him from here on out.
Things have stopped flying toward the ring now that it appears there's a fight going on. Video games are still being played. Pinball machines are still making their loud racket. Air hockey tables still have pucks scooting around on them. Even so a lot of cheering is going on for the 'fight' people had been waiting for.
The cheers get louder when the priest swings the punches in and the Aussie attempts to block them, only to get hit by each one, and the little burst of the energy. "Oof." Even though she looks pained, she's giving him a half smile. "See why they paired me with you now, mate."
Glancing back at the crowd, she shifts herself into a stance. The whip is given a snap in the air to bring attention to herself. Then one hand sets to the holster at her side and she takes a deep breath. All her attention and energy are focused on the gun she's touching, causing a silvery energy to form around her body.
COMBATSYS: Reese gathers her will.

%"It does make me wonder just how strong Shenwoo is." is his response to the comment made by the Aussie. As strong as Ash? Though he just seems like an oaf. There wasn't such a sinister vibe given off by the God of Battle unlike Mr. Crimson. The man just seemed uncaring and just wanted to dish out violence. It was a surprise he and the priest didn't have a fight break out between them when they were on the same team. A good thing they never were around one another much.
He stands there for a few moments and watches Reese intently and he decides to move forward when he realizes she might pull the gun. He trusts her, but a stray bullet going somewhere could be a bad thing. Someone should have told him it really isn't loaded with live ammo. He reaches to grab the arm that is resting on the gun and attempts a rather ungraceful and straight forward toss to the ground.

"What are you?" Distracted from focusing her energy on the gun, the Aussie finds herself on her back on the ground. Staring up at the ceiling, she grips the whip and pushes up to her feet. "Right then."
When she gets up, her smile has been replaced with a slightly more serious expression.
"I channel energy through them. Don't use live rounds. It'd be pointless to seriously endanger someone's life during one of these matches, yeah?"
It almost looks as though she's going to go for both guns to prove the point to him, but instead Reese grins and snaps the whip out toward Elias' neck, trying to catch him about the throat in a whip choke hold. If she manages to latch it on, she's every intention of paddleballing him back and forth in the ring trying to daze him a little.

There is only a nod. "Can never be too careful. You know how some fighters are." He has run into too many people in the past that would never think twice about firing live rounds or the like around in a crowd or doing even worse. Reese seems like a trustworthy person so he will take her word for now. In fact he has more things to worry about. The fact his thick neck soon has a whip around it and he finds himself being moved about in an attempt to dizzy the man. It is hard to tell how effective it is in the end because his expression still has not changed even a bit.
Given he takes a moment to steady himself it looks like the attempt at least worked somewhat. It isn't long before he is moving again and barrels forward, a shoulder being lowered to ram into the woman's torso before following up with another punch to the woman's midsection if he manages to stagger her back.

Reese 1/------=/=======|======-\-------\0 Elias
Paddleballing the priest doesn't seem to work as effectively as she'd like, but it //does// seem to work enough to daze the man slightly which is better than she'd hoped. Reese snaps the whip back into position, no longer needing it to be around Elias' neck. As the whip comes to rest, the crowd around the ring cheers loudly and whistles a few times.
Reese has time to smile at the crowd, but that's about it before there's a shoulder crashing into her torso and knocking her off balance. Just as she starts to right herself she's punched //through// the boundary of the ring, and right into a pinball machine. Her body lands atop the glass and cracks it. Groaning loudly, she pushes herself enough to roll off the machine and into the crowd.
Standing on shaky legs, she manages to move to an area where no one is standing. Then she uses her off hand to sling one of the guns from the holster. Angling it at Elias, she snaps off a double shot of silvery energy bullet that morphs as it comes toward him into a pointy arrowhead.
COMBATSYS: Elias blocks Reese's Projectile Point.

Reese 1/-----==/=======|======-\-------\0 Elias
He had not meant to hit that hard, but it seems the priest underestimated the strength of that blow and he finds himself damaging property now. He will be sure to pay to replace the machine since that was his fault. He starts to step over to where Reese is to check on her only to find the woman is moving quickly and is just fine. Fine enough to even shoot him with one of her guns it seems. The priest finds himself in a place where he can't really get out of the way. That is why he just brings up an arm quickly to let the 'bullet' slam into it.
It seems she at least told the truth about the bullets being nothing but energy. Rather painful energy at that. Elias cannot fully retaliate given his own form of long range attack is a bit larger and more dangerous. He does hurry his way to close in the distance between himself and Reese and he comes forward with a dashing straight, a hefty amount of the man's weight thrown into it as he looks to connect and hopefully not break another machine.
COMBATSYS: Elias successfully hits Reese with Strong Punch.

Reese 1/-======/=======|=======\-------\0 Elias
Reese has no reason to lie about how she uses her weaponry. It's one thing she's fairly up front about if asked. Bullets are not something she'd ever use unless it were a life or death situation.
Still pretty shaky on her feet, she watches the priest hurry toward her. An attempt is made to leap out of the way of the barreling weighted punch, but she's still a bit loopy from hitting the loud pinball machine, and the ding-ding-dinging of it in her ears screws with her equilibrium and she's punched dead on. She doesn't hit a machine but she does bump against a big Russian, and then spins to hit another like running into bumpers from that pinball machine. One of the Russians takes pity on her and holds her still until she's able to get her balance.
Giving Elias a loopy sort of smile, she draws the other gun out and fires them both off at the same time. A barrage of tiny silver energy-bullets fly toward him. As the last shots come from the guns, they coalesce into one super-charged gigantic bullet that blasts toward him and then explodes.
COMBATSYS: Reese can no longer fight.

Elias 1/-----==/=======|
A few Russian men probably just had their night made. Fighting in the crowd is probably not the safest of ideas, but Elias is being careful to just use punches and the like so he limits the chance of hitting someone and causing an injury to a spectator. It seems Reese is a bit more mellow about that sort of line of thinking since she is more than fine with letting energy fly. Not that the priest will fault her for it....unless she hits someone by accident. This time though seems to be safe enough The blast impacts on the priest and it seems to hold enough power it actually pushes him back and Elias is left staggering backwards before finally going down to one knee.
He takes a moment to get up and as he starts to get ready to continue the fight, but then pauses when it looks like Reese is looking a bit ragged from the fight. He decides to hold back and let her come at him if she chooses to. He remains in his fighting stance for now waiting to see what the woman will do.
After expending the remainder of her energy in that attack, Reese just sort of slumps forward. Her body wobbles and her knees hit the ground first. Then she's happy enough to just fall to the dirty, disgusting floor of the Russian arcade. She //may// require medical attention after a few of those punches. She'll get that taken care of as soon as she figures out how the hell to get out of the pinball machine that seems to be still ringing and making noises in her head.
It seems like that was all she had left in her. Not a bad performance and the woman certainly seems to have potential. He straightens back up fully once it looks like things are done and the official comes up on the mic to let people know the fight is over and to please refrain from throwing things again. Elias gives a nod to Reese. "A pleasure, Miss Jones." he tells her as he turns around. He looks a bit slower moving than he was at the start of the fight, but he is a quick healer. Any attempts for medical attention are brushed off as the priest starts to make is way out of the arcade. This is certainly not a place for a man like him to linger. He has many other things to take care of this evening anyways.
COMBATSYS: Elias has ended the fight here.
