Description: Things have not sat well with Kyo and his recent dealings with Shadaloo. To try and give them paybacks for interrupting his slacking he has decided it would be a good time to try and attack Shadaloo during the finals. Go figure the one time in his life he shows up early is this one day. It seems Vega had a surprise waiting for him in the form of Sagat. Muay Thai God and heir to the Kusanagi clan clash. Can the island survive?
It was probably inevitable that, even after the disappointing defeat (by forfeit, as he would hasten to point out) of the 'hero team' at the hands (actually, mainly feet) of the Shadaloo Team, Kyo Kusanagi would find himself here.
Rather than by the vagaries of tournament matches and professional fighting, the Kusanagi heir instead has brought himself to the mysterious island, a frown on his face as he stands over the circle of stones. There's something about this place, with its strange phenomena and its unnatural weather, that grates on him at a level he can't consciously articulate; the bloodline of the Kusanagi clan, that power that flows in an unbroken line through the centuries to result in Kyo himself here and now, stirs in protest at the very nature of the island.
Straightening up, Kyo cuts an unmistakeable figure - though he's dressed pretty normally, in jeans and motorcycle boots, with a white t-shirt on, his leather motorcycle jacket bears the Kusanagi clan emblem on its back, and his hands are covered by the gloves that help him regulate his bloodline flames.
He heaves out a faint sigh of annoyance.
"Figures," Kyo says out loud. "I drag myself all the way out to the planet's own butthole, and none of those douchebags are even around."
And if that's not a straight line for a good entrance, I don't know what is.
It figures of all the times to be early Kyo has done so. The fight has not yet started at this point and to top it off neither team seems to have even arrived. There is the sound of copters in the distance that may be heading for this strange island or they could be doing their best to get the hell away from the strange occurance. Even with all the silence it does look one person had anticipated that someone like Kyo may show up. That would be the very man Kusanagi had defeated not long ago.
Vega had not wanted anyone to try and crash the finals and perhaps risk causing Shadaloo to lose when they were so close to reaching their goal. That is why even if he may not be the most trusted and loyal of followers these days Sagat has been sent to wait on the island ahead of time and keep any riff-raff from causing problems. Among the shadows what looked like a pile of rocks starts to move and a large figure stands to his full height. "Early for once. Your father would be proud." comes the deep voice of Sagat as he steps forward.
He folds his arms over his chest as he glances down towards Kyo and gives a nod. "You still have a few hours and normally I would let you pass to see what happens, but....." he trails off and he looks skywards as his single eye narrows. "There are more important things to worry about than a fight and you know it." Sagat himself still has no full idea what is going on, but if things keep getting worse he has to wonder if the world truely is in for alot of trouble. He rather be off finding a way to remedy the situation, but instead he has to be dealing with a punk kid it seems this afternoon. "I suppose you really don't care what is going on if you are here, though."
The whole Australia thing was a bad scene, Kyo was not a fan. It was hot out, his mouth tasted like vegemite, and then he got into a fight with Vega because /some people/ just don't know how to ask nicely. Things were said, threats were made, and while Kyo was able to drive the mad Psycho Powered dictator off, he wasn't able to get to the match on time... /And/ he later got a call from his girlfriend suggesting there was some kind of fracas outside of her home.
It's enough to irritate a guy.
"That's me," Kyo says, spreading his hands demonstratively, as Sagat makes his appearance. "Always trying to impress the old man." The smaller fighter - and really, most fighters are smaller compared to Sagat, that guy must've drank a /lot/ of milk as a kid - regards the legendary Muay Thai expert with what /seems/ to be a completely relaxed posture. How to handle this, really? "Maybe I just was hoping to get some good seats, you know? Before the crowd shows up."
Does Kyo really care about what's going on? That's sort of a complicated issue. He doesn't /want/ to care about what's going on, but he's finally managed to get pissed off about the various hijinks that have gone on since the beginning of this tournament, from weirdos attacking him at his home to that 'Messiah of Orochi' guy pumping Kain Heinlein full of evil super steroids. Like Kain wasn't bad enough to start with, jeebus.
"So what, Big Chins got you playing guard dog now?" Kyo wonders, tilting his head slightly to one side, his eyes focused carefully on Sagat. "I'm guessing Cuddles the Boxing Bear is around here somewhere too, but I'm glad I ran into you instead, you seem like a more sensible kinda guy. So, let's see if I've got this right... The guy running the tournament lured you guys and whoever you're supposed to be fighting," Kyo wasn't paying attention, yes he's that self-absorbed, "to this spooky island, and I'm guessing something really bad is probably gonna happen. Personally, I'm of the inclination that whoever is behind this whole thing needs a punch in the neck, but that's not what's bugging me right now. Tell me something, Sagat..."
He pauses a moment, for dramatic effect.
"...What's it like being Vega's prison bitch, anyway?"
Anyone in Shadaloo at this point pretty much knows this is some sort of trap or the like. Given how eccentric the wrestlers they are to take on are it is hard to tell if they know it as well. "I agree with you on one thing. Whoever is pulling the strings does deserve to be attacked. In fact I am planning on it." Vega is a strong man and even if he manages to defeat whoever this is behind the whole tournament he has a feeling Vega just might finally be weak enough that Sagat can just finish off the man. Likewise if the other power somehow manages to defeat Vega.
Of course about that time when he is about to explain what his motives are he is asked a question. It isn't like Sagat wasn't frowning already, but somehow it has turned into an even bigger one. It is probably amazing that Sagat didn't lash out with a kick right then and there aimed right for that smug face of Kyo. "I bide my time and decide when I leave." he responds. Of course he realizes trying to explain such things would be lost on the kid. If it were so easy to just avoid Shadaloo he would still be living out on his own in rural Thailand like he was. When Vega wants someone back in the fold there is really never a way to say no for good.
Those large arms unfold and the giant cracks his knuckles a few times as he takes a deep breath. "Well you certainly seem to be in the mood to fight so I suppose someone has to entertain you. It has been awhile since I got to fight someone with skill. Tussling with NESTS was getting rather boring."
As much of a natural genius as Kyo is at fighting, it pales beside his inborn talent for antagonising people. Let's face it: He talks so much trash he probably called the doctor who delivered him a pussy.
When Sagat demonstrates his growth as a person by not reflexively kicking the Kusanagi heir so hard he wakes up six days later in a motel in Des Moines, a slow smirk crosses the younger man's face. It's... It's pretty smug. "Sure you do, buddy," Kyo replies, in a tone that suggests he's humouring Sagat. "I dunno what Vega's got on you, but it must be pretty good... I mean, at this rate you're still going to be telling yourself that you're 'biding your time' and 'deciding when you leave' when you're old and toothless and Vega takes you out behind the shed like Old Yeller."
That's a pretty obscure reference for a guy Kyo's age, but there you go. Maybe he does a lot of research?
Sighing a little, Kyo tugs his gloves a bit tighter at Sagat's knuckle cracking. "If you wanna go, let's go, Big'n'Tall," the younger man says, snapping the fingers of his right hand and briefly summoning his bloodline flames, only to snuff them out immediately. It's like knuckle-cracking, but for pyrokinetics. "I'd hate to deny you the opportunity to tussle with the best."
Given how it seems Sagat ages that might be a very long time to go. In the end who knows. Vega might be the one person that might outlive Sagat just given the sheer amount of times he just pops a new body out of a vat. The cyclops just gives a shake of his head. The last thing he wants to do is to try and explain things to someone that doesn't want to listen. Why couldn't have been Terry? At least the hobo has some sort of redeeming qualities other than being a capable fighter.
If anything this will help relieve some tension for Sagat and if he is lucky he might just knock the kid down a peg or two in the process. "I would call this a learning experience for you, but I doubt you are much to care for that sort of thing." he comments and cricks his neck. He also rather quickly springs into action in the fact he didn't even look ready. His position was still laxed, but the large fighter quickly slings one of his powerful legs forward intentent on smashing his bare foot hard right into the face of the much younger fighter. "Let us not hold back!"

"Basically true," Kyo agrees. He hates learning, that's why he hasn't bothered to graduate highschool yet. Too much effort involved.
As obviously arrogant as Kyo is, though, he knows that when /Sagat/ says he's not going to hold back, that is some serious business. The incoming kick might be intended more for speed than power, but under the circumstances that might not mean too much... And besides, Kyo is rather partial to his face. His arms swing up, even as he starts moving backwards to match the momentum of the strike, and the impact that /happens/ is actually pretty underwhelming?
All according to plan.
Catching himself so he doesn't move too far away, Kyo starts moving /forward/ now, bulling directly at Sagat when most sensible individuals would be doing exactly the opposite. He swings his right fist in an arc angled to catch Sagat across the chin - and he has to reach for it, too, goddamn - a guttering trail of Kusanagi flames trailing behind his fist as a warning about the small /explosion/ of fire that will happen at the point of impact, if any; from that first punch, Kyo will then step in again, swinging his left fist up in a close-quarters uppercut that signals /another/ eruption of sacred flame, before twisting around to swing his foot in a fast heel kick to catch Sagat on the other side of his chin.
"So when do you stop holding back?!" Kyo wonders, tauntingly.

Kyo 0/-------/------=|===----\-------\0 Sagat
Too quick. Sagat felt his foot hit against Kyo, but the younger fighter had already positioned himself perfectly to handle the kick. So much for Sagat getting the drop on him. He grunts lightly in response and he slams his foot down hard on the ground and prepares himself for when Kyo comes careening towards him. The speed of Kusanagi also is something Sagat is trying to get used to. He was begining to move to put his arms up to let the firey fist glance off of that, but instead he feels the sting of the blow slamming across his chin that rocks Sagat enough that he stumbles back a step before regaining his balance.
Now he is mocking him to top if all off. Sagat is already finding himself having not to let his anger get the best of him. Against someone like Kyo he can't let that happen or he will be easily defeated. He comes forward with one large hand reaching to grab Kyo by his jacket. If he can get a good grip he will yank the younger fighter forward and aim to drive three powerful knees into him before pushing him away. "Enough talk. Just show me what you can do."

Kyo 0/-------/----===|=====--\-------\0 Sagat
The lightning-fast combination is one of Kyo's particular specialties, delivered with a precision belied by the way he puts his full weight behind the successive strikes; it has its weaknesses, of course, particularly in the form of a potentially deadly recovery time that follows it... Which Sagat very nearly manages to take avantage of. The former Emperor of Muay Thai lunges into the opening created, one titanic fist lancing forward to grasp Kyo by the front of his (very expensive) leather jacket, and for a second things look like they're about to go very, very poorly for the Kusanagi heir...
...But, at least this time, they don't.
His own hand snaps up, a practiced and nearly reflexive defensive motion to wrench at that mighty wrist; no matter how big someone is, no matter how trained their muscles, the joints are always a weak point. You can't train /them/, after all; they're just gaps between bones. Forestalling the powerful throw, in the same moment Kyo lashes out with his other fist, even as he's pulled forward, and slams it into Sagat with yet another explosion of those Kusangi flames he hurls around with such contemptuous ease, breaking free before he can get kneed into cookie dough, and putting some distance between the two of them.
"You're kind of intense," Kyo notes, because actually there's never enough talk, from his perspective. "You should take, like, a spa weekend. Relax a little."
This is not quite what the former Emporer had expected. It is times like this when he realizes he still has alot more training to do even at his age. No matter how good he is there still those he can't easily toss aside. If he can't beat a punk like Kyo up what chances does he have against Ryu right now? Being slugged again by that fist of Kyo makes Sagat let go and he staggers back again as he quickly regains his balance before Kyo can do too much to capitalize on things.
That single eye narrows and his lips quick into a bit of a smirk. "Once this force and Vega kill one another I might just do that." His tone is a bit of a dry one, but it might be an attempt for him to show that all the light taunting isn't getting to him. Though that would be a lie. His frustration is starting to show just a bit at this point. He lunges forward once more, both hands reaching out this time to grasp Kyo and lift the younger fighter up. There is the relief of no knees being involved this time, but Kyo will get to learn to fly for a short time as Sagat Attempts to just toss him like some sort of lawn dart.
COMBATSYS: Sagat successfully hits Kyo with Tiger Carry.
[ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ < > /////////////////// ]
Kyo 0/-------/---====|=====--\-------\0 Sagat
It's all part of the game, of course, from Kyo's perspective; being a fighter is as much about psychology as it is being able to punch tanks in half and throw various flavours of energy projectile. It's the difference between being a /fighter/ and being a /martial artist/, if he were to articulate the concept... He's not someone who's just out to be the best he can be, and reach some nebulous pinnacle of personal perfection. If he's going to get off his ass and fight a guy, he's going to fight to /win/.
Thus, the smack talk. The incessant, aggravating smack talk.
"See, it's good to have goals," Kyo replies to Sagat's dry quip, right before things go slightly pear-shaped; he gets caught and lifted into the air, and luckily he doesn't get kneed - he knows enough about Muay Thai to not want to get kneed, or for that matter elbowed, those look pointy - and then he gets hurled towards the dead earth of the mystery island. The Kusanagi heir tries to break his fall, but he underestimates the force behind the hurl, and instead ends up doing an awkward and /very/ painful roll before his momentum plays out.
Pushing himself up quickly, Kyo lets out a hissing breath. "Ahh... Yeah, that stung a little," he mutters, scrambling forward in a low run that sees him straighten up in mid-movement, before he actually leaps up off the ground and then just tries to punch Sagat in the head in midair.
Look, they can't all be thousand year old mystical Kusanagi-ryuu techniques.

Kyo 0/-------/=======|=======\-------\1 Sagat
The short time Sagat has after tossing Kyo up and over might just be enough to let him regain his concentration. "I will hit harder next time." comes the rather dry tone of a reply from the larger fighter. Now he needs to let himself concentrate and get in the proper mindset. Don't let the young punk get in his brain and make him make silly mistakes that are unforgiveable for a man of his age and experience. Even as Kyo comes charging in Sagat is making no attempt to get out of the way. He certainly doesn't have the speed to really avoid any of Kyo's strikes.
Of course he makes up for that lack of speed with pure brute force. There are very few people that can boast to be as physically strong as the former Emporer and those are men that might be even more frightening. Kyo takes to the air and at this point that is just where Sagat wants him. An arm coils and while Kyo feels his fist connect, he soon feels the powerful sting of Sagat's own fist hitting the jaw of the smaller fighter as the Muay Thai powerhouse goes upwards with a powerful uppercut before landing on his feet. "I hope that was better."
Let it not be said that Sagat doesn't mean what he says.
Kyo, on the receiving end of the mighty Tiger Uppercut, gets punched /still higher/ than he had already jumped by the sheer upwards force behind the blow, all the little openings created during his attack exploited by the experienced Muay Thai fighter for the singular goal of punching the reigning World Warrior champion really, really hard. He even does kind of an awkward, ragdoll arc in the air before landing in a heap, momentarily questioning the wisdom of this whole enterprise.
"Yeah," Kyo remarks. "Not bad."
Back on his feet, Kyo settles into the simple, uncomplicated stance he favours, feet shoulder width apart as he faces Sagat sidelong, his fists loosely raised, constantly moving a little bit, to avoid being caught flat-footed. "Guess I'm gonna have to start pulling out all the stops, huh?" he wonders, perhaps rhetorically, shifting stance to raise his right hand, a flame appearing on his palm, raging inside the 'cage' of his fingers as he gathers energy, drawing upon the ancient bloodline of the Kusanagi clan...
And, here especially, as that power builds it comes with the ominous, weighty sense of an invisible /something/ drawing closer, a portentious presence growing just outside of the corner of one's eye...
COMBATSYS: Kyo gathers his will.

Kyo 1/----===/=======|=======\-------\1 Sagat
The kid may be a loud mouth and a punk, but his resilience is something that is respected by Sagat. The fact he is rather quick to recover after taking such a powerful hit goes to show he is more than just talk. A shame that he is so uncaring about improving himself. Just how good could he be if he put forth more effort into reaching his full potential. He remains in his fighting stance with arms raised and one leg slightly cocked at the knee as he watches. He can feel Kyo drawing that energy around him.
There is also certainly plenty of that. This gathering of chi in such a small area is so great it is rather distracting. He can't even tell how much is really Kyo and what is just the energy around the island reacting to him. "I see.....well I will just try harder next time." he takes a deep breath and the dirt around him actually kicks up and whirls about. A faint outline of orange appears around the former Emporer as he starts to draw from the power around him as well. If Kyo is ready to break out the big guns Sagat is more than ready to oblige and bring some surprises of his own.
COMBATSYS: Sagat gathers his will.

Kyo 1/----===/=======|=======\====---\1 Sagat
In some ways, Kyo really doesn't want to see what Sagat 'trying harder' would involve. That's just rife with terrifying possibilities, you know? Letting out a slow breath as Sagat starts drawing energy in as well, the Kusanagi heir's eyes narrow almost imperceptibly, his confident appearance otherwise unmoved. Whatever the former Emperor of Muay Thai has up his sle... Uh... Hidden in his shor... Hm. Whatever surprises Sagat might have in store would probably be detrimental to Kyo's short-term well-being, so does he really want to see what they might be?
Taking a step forward, Kyo sweeps his arm through the air, that flame still raging in his palm, but rather than what one might expect (unleashing a gigantic all-consuming wave of sacred flame) the reigning World Warrior champion plays things a bit more conservatively, releasing the flame in his hand which arcs towards the barren, stony ground... And then blossoms into a raging fire that streaks across the earth towards the concentrating Sagat.

It looks like the pair were having a bit of a standoff. Sagat was almost of thinking of rushing in first, but it seems Kyo soon has the same idea it would seem and goes to make for a strike of his own. The flames rush forward and that single eye narrows once again as the cyclops spreads his feet and keeps his ground. A deep breath is taken and that gathered energy is soon focused into his hands and arms as he lets out a rather loud ground and thrusts them forward to try and stop the incoming attack.
He is pushed back and his feet drag along the ground, but it seems the energy he focused into his arms and hands is put to good use as they take the brunt of the blast and in the end it doesn't seem like the attack didn't do what Kyo had hoped. Instead what energy is left seems to be surging through the former emporer's body as he grits his teeth. He swings both arms back and then while stepping forward he thrusts both fists forward and together as an impossibly large blast of orangish yellow chi is released and goes careening right towards the flame wielder. "Two can play that game!"

Kyo 1/---====/=======|==-----\-------\0 Sagat
The impressive demonstration of raw willpower and force is... Not exactly how Kyo had anticipated that turning out, but sometimes this sort of thing just happens. The confident young man actually looks surprised, which is an expression he rarely lets himself wear openly, and one he can't afford to show for long... In this business, getting surprised is a good way to get beat, and given the number of /raving psychopaths/ in the business, occasionally a good way to get maimed or dead.
Sagat's response is clearly one of escalation, as he launches a massive blast of yellow-orange chi at the Kusanagi heir, who finds himself with precious few options. Flames erupt from both hands, and as Kyo swings his guard into place, the sacred bloodline fire of the Kusanagi clan bolsters his defense, helping to deflect that enormous chi surge entirely, the aftermath leaving Kyo unscathed... And feeling pretty awesome, right about now.
"Yeah," Kyo agrees. "They sure can!"
Suddenly, Kyo's entire form is limned in fire, heat distorting the air around him even though the man himself is completely untouched by the effects of the flame. He returns to his earlier stance, the one he used to draw on the Kusanagi bloodline power, an increasingly brilliant, blindingly intense flame burning in the palm of his upraised right hand. "Don't worry, though... It's time to bring out the big finale, don't you think? Wouldn't want you saying I was pulling my punches against you..." The fiery power reaches a critical point, and Kyo /unleashes/ it, sliding forward and sweeping his right hand down, and then across; the flame in his hand is hurled forward, expanding into a wave, and the flames on his body peel off to join it, bolstering it, until it forms a massive hellish storm of the Ever-Burning Flames of the Kusanagi clan, orange-crimson, searing through the air to envelop the mighty Sagat!

Those flames are no laughing matter. The might of the Kusanagi family is all well known and Sagat is getting reminded why the family is one to be respected. IT was more sheer luck than anything when Sagat managed to stop the last barrage, but this time around he expending a bit too much to properly help protect him this time. There is little he can do but try to cover his face up and endure the flames as he is engulfed by them. By the time the flames die down he is still standing, but he is starting to look a bit worse for wear.
Even so he gives a faint grin as he lowers his arms. "I am almost starting to like you. Maybe I am going mad at my old age." he says and there is a bit of a deep laugh that rumbles from him. He manages to get the strength to barrel forward now. Quickly closing the gap between himself and Kyo before he takes to the air. A large leap that propells him forward as he brings a knee forward. He seems more than intent on just barreling right into Kyo with all his weight behind it. "Graaaaaaaah!"

While it wasn't the overwhelming final maneuver he was hoping for, Kyo can at least rest easy in the knowledge that even with a successful defense, ol' Sagat still felt that one. Things are heating up now, in the way they only can between fighters of that rarified caliber that they stand head and shoulders above the rest; most people would probably be about ready to call it quits now, once such powerful techniques get thrown around... But for people like them, this is where the fun really starts.
"Aww," Kyo remarks, to Sagat's laughing statement. "I'm gonna blush."
Instead, though, Kyo has to throw up his arms and crouch slightly to avoid getting annihilated by the former Emperor of Muay Thai's deadly knee with all of his tremendous mass behind it; the impact is still enough to shove the Kusanagi heir /back/, dust from the dead earth underfoot kicked up as his booted feet skid backwards. But he doesn't waste time worrying about that, instead lunging forward to grab the bigger man, getting the best hold he can manage on Sagat with every intent on flipping him over Kyo's shoulder in a classic judo throw... Which, Kyo being Kyo, he will follow up by falling shoulder-first /onto/ the other fighter.

No, playing nice tends never to get one anywhere. Sagat has learned that many a times. Even when you try to do the right thing it is best to make sure you properly beat things until they won't move. Otherwise you will just get knifed in the back or the like. He does seem surprised at the fact Kyo is deciding to grapple with the much larger fighter. Even more impressive is the fact he manages to get enough momentum to get Sagat off his feet. The cyclops looks genuinely surprised as he gets flipped over and then landed on with the follow up strike.
Screw the fight for the winner of King of Fighters. This is more of a challenge than any simple wrestler could have given him. Even as his body feels like it is starting to give out on him he knows this is the sort of workout he needs. He is slow to get up, but once up onto one knee he lunges forward again. An attempt at a surprise strike as he aims to drive a rather powerful elbow right into the gut of Kyo.

Sometimes, you just gotta grapple a guy. It's not Kyo's particular specialty, but you can't spend much time around Goro 'Judo God' Daimon and not pick up a trick or two; the Kusanagi heir's tendency to adapt techniques and make them part of his own style contributes, too. He'd probably say it was a genius thing, but then he's never been noted for being especially humble.
Rolling off of the mighty Sagat, Kyo is about halfway to his feet when the massive fighter takes advantage of timing to deliver a brutal elbow right into the younger man's gut, which is exactly what he was worried about earlier, damn it. The surprise strike blasts clear through the Kusanagi heir's attempt to raise his guard, doubling over and actually briefly getting knocked off of his feet before he can recover himself, staggering...
"Ugh... Shouldn't have had that big lunch," Kyo mutters in a pained voice, looking a touch on the green side. He doesn't let /that/ stop him, though, once it's clear he's not actually about to puke, before throwing himself into a rushing combination again; the hooking punch with his right, flames trailing and erupting upon impact, is this time followed by a mirror image of that first punch, delivered with his left fist; to finish things off, Kyo (perhaps unwisely) leaps up again for an airborne strike, bringing both fists down in a hammeblow towards the titanic fighter's crown. "Hua-!!"

It is one of those moments Sagat doesn't realize how lucky he is. He could have been beat up and been covered in Kyo's lunch. His strike is true, though and it gives him time to fully stand up and be a bit more prepared. The punishment his body has taken is starting to slow him down. He actually starts stepping forward right into the strike, but the force of it is yet another surprise for Sagat and it knocks him back several footsteps before he goes down to one knee again. He is breathing a bit heavily at this point and his stance is shakey. "This has been a good day. I am interested to see just how strong you may become, Kusanagi."
He laughs a bit and then he straigtens up. He moves forward again, a more slow and lumbering pace. He is going to have to stop soon, but if he can help it he is going to give Kyo something to remember for sure. He may be defeated, but hopefully he has also done enough damage to Kyo that he won't be able to properly interfere in the match when it does happen. With one loud roar he launches himself forward again, a large knee aiming to be delivered once again full force to try and knock Kyo off balance. And if that works? Well then it is really going to ruin the young fighter's day.

That knee hits home and before Kyo can have time to recover he finds his body being under a barrage of punches and kicks. Where he got that last bit of spark of energy is anyone's guess, but he is relentless before he rears back and delivers another of his trademark uppercuts. He lands in a crouch and quickly launches up again, this time his fist bursting into an orangish yellow glow of energy as he delivers a second uppercut to finally knock the younger fighter away. He lands hard afterwards and just sits there breathing heavily. Whatever energy he hand left was just used. He is managing to stay concious and sitting up, but that is about it.
Sometimes, you just zig when you ought to zag.
Kyo's attempt to block that incoming knee is overwhelmed, and proves to be perhaps the wrong strategy for dealing with Sagat's attack; left wide open by his unsuccessful defense, the younger man is regrettably vulnerable as the one time Emeperor of Muay Thai batters him with punches and kicks, ending off with a powerful, energy-charged uppercut that sends Kyo tumbling, ending up flat on his back some distance away, staring up at the unnatural sky.
Letting out a faint grunt, Kyo drags one foot up, his leg bent at the knee, and clearly remains /conscious/, although he's not especially inclined to move from where he is for a bit. Guh.
"Well I'm glad you had fun," Kyo says, sounding a bit exasperated. Of course, he's too cool to admit to enjoying anything in the first place. "So what are you gonna do, huh? Just keep your fingers crossed that the bad guys blow each other up?"
COMBATSYS: Kyo takes no action.
COMBATSYS: Kyo can no longer fight.
Sagat pretty much stays where he is too. For now he has a bit of time before the fight is to start, but hopefully he won't be needed. Even if going against lesser opponenents he isn't going to be nowhere near enough ready to put up a great fight. Even so he kinda would like to see the weird wrestlers win just to see the look on Vega's face. "Let them destroy eachother and if one lives just take them out." he replies and gives a nod. "I am not so good at the hero thing so I figure I just do it my way."
He does let out a bit of a chuckle and leans back to rest on the ground while looking skyward. "I guess we will see what happens, though. Who knows what will happen, though. For a long while I feel interested to see what happens with the world and if kids like you can stop this force if an old man like me can't do it." That eye of his closes and for now he rests. In a few hours the fight begins so he best get back what energy he can in case he is needed.
Renowned as he is for extreme laziness, Kyo can see the appeal of the plan of letting Bad Guy A and Bad Guy B knock each other's heads off, but...
"Heh," the Kusanagi heir chuckles. "Guess it's good you have your own way of doing things." Though it's more his style to stay out of it and let someone else handle it, this time... Well, this time Kyo just can't bring himself to. Too much has happened, it's become far too personal, and there are too many people involved that he wants to personally punch inside out, for one reason or another. "No pressure, huh?" he muses, at Sagat's last words.
And then he decides to rest up, too, because like hell he's leaving it at just this.
