RSCP - Week 1 - Batsu vs. Brett & Hinata

Description: Taiyo High. Home of the BURNING SPIRIT. And now, a major fight on behalf of Yurika. Local Hero Batsu Takes his best friend Hinata and her new 'friend,' Hockey Star Brett in a two against one match. Now with 50% more Power Play! (Winner: Batsu)

The Taiyo High arena was well filled with countless students, spectators, and those seeking a righteous fight. Yurika's charity event was beginning to gain in popularity, thanks in part with the standard of the fights. Batsu was the hero of Taiyo High, and had started out with a riproaring match with Ash and Ryu. But now, it was a local gig. Between someone close to him... and someone was a complete mystery.

A fight between Hinata and Mr. Big Butt.

Batsu, just stood out there, waiting for his best friend and the strange man with the enormous butt to arrive. Most people would be put off with fighting a friend, especially when one is known for fighting a bear man. But Batsu had no issues with having a fight with Hinata. I mean, she was a friend! Just because she was a girl, didn't mean the hot-blooded wasn't going to have a problem with a friendly face smashing match.

Besides, she had a great caboose backing her up.

Wait.

Once more Hinata finds herself at Taiyo, ready to be in a great big clobbering match for the sake of charity! She seems to have become quite obsessed with the whole charity effort in fact, with so many of her recent fights going toward helping to rebuild the schools.

Of course, it's not just the charity that seems the same; today Hinata is facing off with a new opponent in her good friend Batsu, but once more Brett finds his way into the match with the Sunshine Girl of Taiyo, this time as her partner. The two certainly did seem to be involved in charity together an awful lot, but after the way that last match went, the hockey player's probably happy to not be on the receiving end of a fight with Hinata.

With the local crowd cheering, Hinata starts to blast in through one of the doors, jumping up into a mid-air flip to get into the ring in a manner that draws out powerful clapping and 'woo's and there are good number of Pro-Hinata signs in the crowd. She is, after all, the strongest school spirit around, it would be hard not to root for her, even against one of Taiyo's own.

She's also not mentally calling people names, her head is just full of happy thoughts about the fight to come.

One just has to wonder just who would be paying that much attention to Brett's butt like that. Because the former winger sure isn't aware enough to wonder himself. He's busy trying to assure Hinata that he's ok since their last fight at the Amusement Park. "That reminds me though...um...you want me to replace that one bear? The one I got the bloodstains on?" he asks somewhat embarrassedly...though that thought's kind of cut off when it's their turn to make an entrance. "Ack!"

Despite his skates, he finds it a bit harder to keep up with the teal blur, mostly due to having to wade through people. "Sorry, pardon me, I..guh...my bad, WAIT UP!!!" Once he arrives in the fighting ring set up for the fight, he sighs, leaning over his knees to catch his breath. "Geez, you're fast..." Shaking his head, he looks up, and eyes Batsu a little. Interesting look...and unfortunately not much telling him how he fights. He looks around, hearing the chants for both Batsu's and Hinata's names, a bit intimidated. AT least until he closes his eyes, trying to shut it all out and get himself eased into the right mindset....

Batsu can do whatever he wants in his head! If he wants to have a dozen little clown bears spin around a giant go-go dancing Yurika, then he can! If he wants to trip the light fantastic with a purple dragon by the name of Earl, then he can! If he wants to spend the rest of his years bitterly cursing the name of Brett and Hinata as they live a happy life together, brewing in his own self-loathing by the missed opportunities, then by god, YES HE CAN!

Ahem.

Actually, these are not thoughts brought upon Batsu, but upon the actor who plays him on television. Batsu himself just grins when Hinata blazes in. Of course people would cheer for Hinata... she embodies Taiyo High more than anyone else! "Hinata! Glad you made it! Are you ready?" Batsu slams his fist into the palm of his hand, flashing a thumbs up to his friend. Shortly afterwards, someone else shows up. The stranger.

Batsu chuckles.

"Hell YEAH! Once Hinata gets worked up, she turns into a blur!" Batsu flashes all his teeth, broadening to a full on grin. "So, you are Brett! You better listen to Hinata, she may not look it, but she knows how to fight." Glancing back and forth between them, he spread his arms apart, pointing a fist up for each. "So, come on, you want to start this, Hinata, or do -you- want to start this, hockeyhair?"

COMBATSYS: Batsu has started a fight here.

Oh those actors and their thoughts about things not related to the match at hand and their secret backstage flings with other actors that make it so awkward to keep on acting together.

Hinata, meanwhile, is very very pumped up; she's surrounded by a cheering crowd of her classmates on her home turf (which may bode unwell for her after the last fight she had on school grounds) and she's about to face down against one of her best friends along side a guy who she keeps doing charity work with! The smile on her face couldn't be much brighter.

"I can't just stand around or go slow when there's something exciting to look forward to!" Hinata cries out loud enough that the crowd can actually hear her, and her excitement seems to spread into making the cheering crowd cheer even louder. It's no wonder she's considered to be the spirit of Taiyo!

But enough of that, people are here for a fight and that's what they're going to get. As soon as Batsu lets out he challenge, Hinata's already blazing across the open space between them, shouting out, "Here I come!" She tries her hardest to get there before Batsu has a c hance to draw down his fists into a proper fighting stance and grab hold of the arm attached to the fist pointed in her direction, twist on her heels, and whip him over her shoulder and into the matt.

"Hockeyhair?" Brett asks, at the sudden nickname he's garnered from Batsu all of a sudden...not that you could really SEE his hair thanks to the helmet (though he probably has a killer case of helmethair anyways). That moment of exasperation is enough to interrupt his usual psyching up, sighing as he looks back to Hinata. He can at least chuckle at her high-spiritedness. That's good...and it's infections too, able to settle himself into a proper state without his usual stick cracking or self-muttering. He just plain sinks down into his usual stance, the smile slowly fading as his eyes narrow into focus straight at Batsu.

"HNN!!!" And with a grunt, he charges in, letting her take the lead as he skates in after her. Going on full break, he waits for her to grab and try to whip Batsu over, using his momentum to try and follow up with a hard downward strike with both fist and the butt of his hockey stick. Nothing fancy, but then again, when you're charging like a train, fancy isn't always necessary.

Look, when I see you guys flirting in the back room, rumors happen. You talk, you chat, you laugh, and you all have a good time. I'm not saying I start these rumors. But lets just say if you ever want to work in this town again, I won't be catching you two together again. Lets just say...

I have influence.

Hinata's spirit WAS contagious. Even as she was screaming, Batsu was just shaking his head, chuckling to himself. Hinata was great. No matter how this fight would go... Batsu knew that everyone would have a great time, thanks to his friend.

Suddenly drop toss.

Here I come? That's a dangerous warning from Hinata. Batsu snaps from his distracted state, trying to draw his arms inwards as he sidesteps. But Hinata is tracking. The teenager of INTENSE GUTS get caught in the spirit of Taiyo High, the girl easily flipping the teenager right over. "GAH! Nice, Hinata!" Batsu snaps, landing hard on the mat. On his back, he begins to rise up... just as Brett was giving the hothead some high stick. And if there was one thing that Batsu hate...

It was people trying to get him high.

Batsu snaps an arm up, letting his forearm catching the stick with a rebounding check. Shooting upright, his eyes are alive, burning with a playful light. "Hey, not bad! You guys get ready, this is going to be BADASS!" His arms snaps out towards Brett, simply because he is close. With full hockey gear, he decided to pull off some of his more nasty street fighting. Should he get a grip, he will bend himself backwards, attempting to carry the sports star up and over, smashing Brett's skull into the ground.

It only takes a moment for Hinata to know she's landed a solid hit on Batsu's arm, and as she sends one of Taiyo's toughest students rolling over her back and slamming him into the ground, she's already preparing for her next move, kicking back to give room for Brett to take the stage...

But Batsu's up faster than expected and the attack doesn't go through quite as expected, leaving Brett open to a move that the hockey player should be familiar with after their last fight, a move that didn't do any favors for his helmet... or his skull.

Regardless, she doesn't waste a lot of time standing around, instead she tracks Batsu's movements, waits until Brett is in the clear, and then starts blasting forward again like a rocket, whipping herself up into the air and starting to whip her leg around in a whirlwind kick, her leg sheathed in small flames of chi as it carries her forward right toward Batsu's head and onward past that.

"C'mon, Brett, let's get our act together!"

Brett isn't sure he likes Taiyo anymore. They keep throwing him on his head and shortening his spine's lifespan.

In any case, in remarkable similarity to the suplex Hinata landed on him in their last fight, the hockey kid ends up finding himself similarly thrown by Batsu. Just...harder. MUCH harder. Enough to completely snap the helmet in two and drive him straight on the top of his head in a way that almost looks like he was embedded straight into the ring. "GGHHHUUHHHHH...." Flopping over with a slight twitch, Brett finds himself physically unable to move for a few seconds, like he was temporarily paralyzed, until his spine seems to reboot long enough for him to twitch again. "Uhghnnn...." Groaning as he gets up, he huffs, gritting his teeth...and slapping himself in the forehead with his stick to wake up. Not about to let himself get taken down so easily again, Brett quickly breaks for Batsu again, trying to coordinate with Hinata once more.

With the whirlwind kick snapping and burning right at Batsu's head, the winger whips his stick around, trying to hook it around the back of Batsu's neck on the pass and simply drag him face first straight into Hinata's own kick.

COMBATSYS: Batsu endures Brett's King's End.

Batsu finishes the epic suplex, giving Brett a full on injection of the masculine side of Burning Spirit. Of course, Brett probably doesn't like that. After being on the butt end of two suplexes would be pretty nasty. Of course, what probably helps him is both Hinata's burning spirit... and the fact that Batsu doesn't follow up.

"Come on, don't be a sissy, get up!" The hot-blooded teenager stands up, bringing his fists up as he tsk tsks the stunned hockey player. His focus is suddenly broken by the one Hinata. Her high spirits were turning into high tide as he spies Hinata coming towards him. Batsu ducks down, bursting with power. A small flame forms in his fist. He starts to charge right for his friend... and Brett slides in, attempting to hook his neck. But Batsu just endures it. His entire torso was beginning to lift up, Brett could probably feel himself being dragged up with the teenager. And as he shot up... the teenager began to roar....

"KYYAA- AARGH!"

Batsu hits the mat, tumbling. A fresh new welt on his face, Batsu sits up, grabbing his face. Too slow. Their teamwork paid off. "Okay, that does it! I'm not holding back any more!" Batsu roars, standing upright into a stagger as he shook off that fresh new concussion.

See what happens when people apply themselves?

"Yeah, that's more like it!" comes Hinata's cheerful cry as she sends one of her friends flying. As she comes back down to land on the mat, she turns enough to offer Brett a quick, brilliant smile of the sort that sets Taiyo's students spirit SOARING up high! The excellent inspiration that feels like basking in the warmth of the sun!

Of course, this is the middle of a fight, and it's not a time out like you might get in other sport events that revolve less around clobbering your opponent's brains out. There's really only a brief pause allowed before she's settling back into proper form, her eyes focused on Batsu in front of her as she's back into that bouncy bouncy stance of her's, circling around to try to give the student with the BURNING SPIRIT a bit more to think about with her on one side and her partner on the other.

But then...

"READY, GO!" Wait? was there some sort of awesome super secret plan the two had prepared ahead of time? Is this the signal to unleash some devastating attack that will launch Batsu into the atmosphere?

No, Hinata just rushes forward, likely leaving Brett as confused as Batsu as she whips her leg around in an attempt to send it crashing full on into the side of Batsu's knee and throw him off balance.

Well, that was a hell of a lot better than getting suplexed at least. That much Brett is sure about. Sure, Hinata probably did most of the work, but he at least helped leave Batsu open long enough for her Enbukayku to strike true. Turning around with a tight spin on his wheels, the winger watches Batsu is smacked into the mat, allowing himself the faintest of smiles before he refocuses. Game face, you know.

And even if Hinata seems to be going on the fly, Brett seems willing enough to follow her lead, charging in from the other side of Batsu. This time, it seems like Hinata's the one going for the set up. Which means it's Brett's turn to go for broke, aiming high while she goes low. And high her does go, aiming a wild elbow straight for Batsu's jaw. And then another with the other arm Suddenly, his arms are swinging out, wielding his stick like one of those giant q-tip sticks you might have seen on Metro City Gladiators. Just thinner, more wooden, and harder. Then arms come out to hockey clinch, grabbing for Batsu's shoulder with the left, and repeatedly punching out for Batsu's nose with his right before trying to finish it with a big overhand shot.

With Burning Spirit win out over the Icy barrage?

No matter how hard he tries, Batsu just couldn't shake Hinata. Sure, the spirit in the arena was cranked well over eleven. Batsu is stopped short from his recovery in proxy due to Hinata's flying rocket kick. The Burning Teenager tries to evade, swinging his legs aside. Instead, he gets a shot to the legs. "GAH! Hinata!" Batsu spits, falling to his knees. And then, Brett returns with a question to ask the burning teenager. As Batsu is left off balance, he is forced to answer Brett's question.

No.

Batsu snaps his arms up, shifting them in tandem with Brett's whirling wood of whipping. The hockey star's frantic strikes were pragmatically stopped, his strikes hammering only his forearms. When the final punches come in, Batsu absorbs the blow... in his palm. Catching the fist, he takes a harsh intake of air, and pushes back, standing back up.

"Hey! Hinata!" Batsu roars, takes several steps backwards. He needed to take a breather, regain his energies. He had to compose himself, but at the same time, attack. And carefully, that was what he was tying together. Opening his arms wide, the Burning Spirit of Taiyo began to consume him. Blue chi burned in both hands as he slams them forward. "GUTS BULLET!" The student bellowed, hurling the ball of energy right towards his good friend.

I mean, she hasn't been hit yet, has she?

There are times when a fighter is just doing their absolute best, and when that kicks in, it's hard to keep them down no matter how tough you are. Tonight seems like one of those nights for Hinata.

Perhaps it's just how well she knows Batsu, or the energy that's flowing through the arena getting channeled straight into her, but so far Hinata is on fire in a non-literal sense. The crowd would probably not appreciate it if the sunshine girl was actually set ablaze during the match and the school itself might have some safety concerns (because repeatedly whacking people in the heads is fine until somebody has to stop, drop, and roll).

The grin on her face shows just how much Hinata is enjoying this fight, and when she sees Batsu finally letting go full force, it grows even brighter. "ALRIGHT, let's do this!" She sets her eyes on the blast and whips up her arms in a cross pattern in front of her to intercept the chi blast and ward off the most of its damaging...

Wait, no, it overpowers her and sends her flying right back into the ropes at the side of the ring and leaves her looking a bit out of it for a second as she tries to disentangle herself from it all. "Whoa... that was a good one, Batsu!"

As soon as she's out of it, though, she's back on her feet and rushing straight for the student so full of Burning Spirit before kicking herself up into the air and whipping her leg around in an impressive tornado kick that... is nowhere near Batsu. It would seem to have been a major mistake, what with how her shoe comes flying off and goes flying straight for Batsu's face.

...No, wait, she threw it on purpose.

Well, that was...um....hrm...what's the word? Disheartening? Despite putting in all he could on that rush, Brett finds his attack easily caught and neutralized for the most part, until the Barrage dulls out with that last overhand. And....well, there's something frustrating about that all. Backing up to catch his breath, Brett grits his teeth...and when Hinata is hit just as easily by Batsu's chi shot it seems, it makes it only that much omore frustrating.

Though at least Hinata's relentless spirit and energy seems to dampen that frustration a little, at least. A small smile curls up, and disappears just as quick as Brett gives his stick a crack down on the ground before him, shooting in once more to charge after Batsu.

And while Hinata seems to let her sneaker do the talking for her, Brett goes with what's worked for him before, bowling in with a high cross check meant to bowl the man with Burning Spirit right over.

Brett should have known better than to have lost heart. That isn't how Burning Spirit works. The idea behind burning spirit is that no matter what, you just keep trying. Batsu's Guts Bullet.

Unlike a certain former president, he cannot dodge.

Worse yet, the presence of Brett makes things worse. As Batsu is stunned by the sudden appearance of shoe, the hockey star gets full leverage to bowl Batsu over. Collapsing to the ground, Batsu staggers up with the same speed. He just ignores the pain, and keeps on piling through. His vision latched on the man who just piled over him. And suddenly, he bounds up in the air.

Batsu seems to freeze in the air for a second, a great aura of blue and orange fire consuming him. He levels his foot down, aiming right for the back of the one Brett. There is a sharp crack, and with blinding speed, Batsu unleashing a flying kick wreathed in chi towards Brett, attempting to crater the hockey star right where he stood.

Ouch... that's going to hurt. And at a time like this, it seems like a good decision to start pulling out all of the stops and get things ready to try to finish off the opponent (even if he is one of Hinata's friends).

Of course, this also gives Hinata a rather good opportunity, with so much of Batsu's attention focused on her partner at the moment, she's got plenty of room to move around and get into a better position before she shouts out, "HEY BATSU!" in an effort to draw the attention of the school brawler in her direction and give Brett a chance to move into a better position, signalling him on with a quick wink (that may or may not have actually been discussed before the match, it's hard to tell with Hinata). "Get ready for this one, Batsu, because here I come!"

As her cry fills the air, she goes flying in at Batsu with all the speed she can manage, looking like the world's lightest freight train until she finally scoops down low, sliding across the floor as she draws back her leg and then finally sends it blasting up toward Batsu's chest to send him rocketting straight toward Brett.

You give some, you take some. Unfortunately, this doesn't quite seem like fair exchange for Brett, the plowing chi-fed kick crashing down into Brett and driving him into the ground to the point of nearly destroying the ring right underneath the poor kid. No amount of padding could save someone from that, after all. And he had just gotten around to enjoying the impromptu teamwork that he and Hinata seemed to be sharing in this fight!

Alas, Brett finds himself seriously hurting now, the young Mr. Neuer barely able to get himself up from the pile the Shooting Star Kick had left him in. "uhgnnn...." Groaning, he looks up, just in time to catch the wink from Hinata. The gesture seems to stop him for a moment, almost completely breaking his usual in-fight demeanor.

But only for the moment, as he gives a sharp nod and manages to get himself up to his feet just in time for HInata to charge Batsu. He watches close, and when she draws her leg back to give that massive punt, he charges. If successful, he'd bring his stick out toward his side, the blade hooked out and pointed out from his side. Rolling fast and moving as if to pass the flying Batsu, he'd try to hook him, just like before...except for two big differences:

1) The other boy's momentum would make the hooking that much more jarring.
2) Rather than just pull him down, Brett would yank him back toward the hockey star himself, the winger's direction changing drastically to break a sprint back to meet Batsu's face with a leveling elbow.

Brett was lucky. Most people on the butt end of a Shooting Star Kick ended up in a wheelchair. Batsu leaps off Brett, the impact shuddering the ground beneath the mat. He lands, twisting his neck. "Walk it off!" He snaps, before a certain girl calls out for a certain man. "What??? Hinata, you better come, because I can't wait to kick your A-!"

Batsu flinches, snapping around. He heard the shuffling of footsteps. It was all a clever trap of sheer brilliance. By using Hinata as a distraction, Batsu was caught flatfooted. With little else to do, he just draws himself inwards, and meets those strikes forearms first. He is smashed hard, the jabbing strikes being absorbed by his forearms. But there was still the issue of forward momentum. The hotblooded teenager crashes hard to the ground behind him, landing in a short tumble. He was seriously injured now, with his arms taking those nicks -hard-

But Batsu refuses... to go... DOWN!

"NYRRRAGH! Okay!" Batsu roars, rising up again. Pounding his fists together twice, he shakes off that sore, stiff feeling consuming his body. "OKAY! All right, Hinata!" Batsu shakes a thumb at his good friend for a moment, before breaking in a frantic run. Picking up speed, he leaps up in the air. "This one is coming for you!" He snaps, swinging his leg around in a kick. His leg becomes wreathed in light, embracing a bright blue aura as chi burns within him. He seemed dead set on introducing a solid kick right to his friend... and splitting the attacks fairly between the two.

I mean, shoot, Brett was Hinata's friend, clearly, and Batsu wasn't going to be a total dick to any friend to Hinata!

Unless you hurt her.

Then he will destroy you.

Wow, Batsu really had a handle on things. Hinata clearly wasn't expecting her friend to be able to get out of their assault like that, and regardless of how much his forearms are hurting, he still managed to get out of the brunt of it.

"Wow, Batsu! That was awesome!" Complimenting your opponent in the middle of a fight? That would be rather unusual tactics if it weren't for a few things: Batsu is Hinata's friend, this is a friendly match, and Hinata is the sort of person who enjoys the fight regardless of which way it's going.

Of course, getting distracted in a fight is bad tactics no matter what, which is why she's slow to react as the Burning Youth start to rush in at her. Her legs aren't moving quite as fast as usual, so even as she's darting back to try to avoid that fearsome kick, she can't quite get out of the way as fast as she'd lick, the tip of the sweeping strike manages to catch her in the shoulder and send her rolling across the mat until she hits the ropes and awkwardly rebounds a few stumbling steps forward.

At least she's still on her feet.

"Aaah... that was pretty good, too, but let's give this a go!" The fight isn't over yet, not by a long shot, so without hesitation, she starts to blast in at Batsu again, sending a speedy jab of her fist flying straight for his face as fast as she can.

Well, that...um....hrm....what to say about that one? Despite working surprisingly well coordinating like that with Hinata, the punctuating shot from Brett ends up resisted quite well, giving Brett a little more to be frustrated about. Andw when Hinata gets plowed by Batsu's response like that, it's a bit more worrying. Obviously, the rapport that Batsu and Hinata share enough to compliment each other in mid battle isn't quite there.

But again, he seems to feed off of Hinata's energy, and her willingness to go in first. And he's able to adapt in a way that makes it easy for him to try and compliment her attacks. So when Hinata extends in for that lunging jab of hers, Brett comes in low, his stick sweeping out like a lawnmower blade and trying to clip Batsu repeatedly in the leg with a wild, dizzying low spin forward.

COMBATSYS: Hinata successfully hits Batsu with Aggressive Strike.

Batsu was on the ropes. He was going down very soon. And yet, he had a full face smile on his face. He was legitmately enjoying this, especially on how great a job Hinata and Brett were kicking his butt! He was going to need a lot of practice right after this to make up... or maybe they were just that good. Landing on the ground, he waving his hands towards himself. "That's nothing compared to what you guys are pulling. Come on, SHOW ME YOUR MOVES!"

Unfortunately, they do.

The hothead attempts to weave from the punch, trying to dodge it with careful skill. Unfortunately, Hinata is too fast, and Batsu is too slow; It connects. It was a powerful blow, no doubt. Batsu was reeling from the impact, struggling to fight the waves of weakness overwhelming him. Like that, he resists it. "Gragh! Come on, Hinata, you hit better than- OOPH"

Brett comes out from way low, sweeping the man right off his feet.

Batsu falls to the ground, stopped cold. Now, if this was a real match, he would have charged right out in a full on assault, getting out that huge blast of last strike to bring himself on top. The trouble was that this was a friendly match. Batsu wasn't in to throw himself too far. He holds up an arm, indicating both Brett and Hinata to stop for a second. He struggles, trying to push himself to his knees...

COMBATSYS: Batsu takes no action.

... And makes up again.

"Okay! Okay! You guys are doing DAMN good!" Batsu yells, rolling his fingers on the floor as he pushes himself all the way up to his feet. Giving a few quick jabs, he gives a thumbs up, indicating he is ready for the second wave. He was exhausted, but he had the drive. Hinata may have an endless well of spirit. But Batsu? Well, there was a reason he was the muscle behind the BURNING SPIRIT of TAIYO...

As well as being -GUTS-

It seems like Batsu won't stay down... but he always did have an admirable amount of SPIRIT!

"That's the stuff, Batsu!" comes Hinata's powerful cry. Sure, this just made the match keep on going. Sure it's pushing things on further, making it harder to come out with a clean win, but... Batsu's one of her best friends! It's not nice to not root for your best friend when they're doing good!

Of course, she's learned a lesson from before, and the cheering only lasts a moment before she's putting on the pressure to avoid having to take another strike like the one before! She draws her hands back for a moment to ignite a spark of energy between them, letting it grow for a few moments before blasting her hands forward until it's a massive ball of chi flying straight toward Batsu, blossoming out into a brilliant sunflower made entirely out of Hinata's SCHOOL SPIRIT in dangerous explode your face form.

It's that burning spirit, after all. Can't keep someone that hot-blooded down.

Not for lack of trying from Brett, frowning as Batsu gets back up. And he was just about to relax a bit too. Unfortunately, Batsu continues to defy expectations and barriers and unlike Hinata, Brett can only scowl a little. Mind races as he tries to figure out how to go about taking Batsu down again, when Hinata again takes the lead.

Which gives Brett he idea of what to do. With Hinata's chi blast expanding forward in that familiar sunflower pattern, Brett goes for his brute charge again...at least so it seems. Rather than try and smash or slash at Batsu, however, he tries to wheel in from behind, and simply charge forward to grab at Batsu. His aim? heft him up and push him straight into HInata's Kikou Shoutei.

COMBATSYS: Batsu dodges Hinata's Kikou Shoutei.

Batsu sees both of his new friends coming right at him, and starts dancing from heel to heel. "Thanks Hinata!" He shouts out, watching her come on in- wait, no. He switches quickly to Brett, who is coming to his flank. He snaps back and forth between them, turning his head back a forth. he lowers down low, and just as the pair comes to meet... Batsu ducks.

Weaving low, he stands up behind the pair, swinging his leg up high. Winding up for an axe kick, he slips behind Hinata. "Hinata, show off some of that Saikyo Groove! Make Dan proud!" He shouts before slamming his leg down, attempting to unleash an axe kick right for her... shoulder.

No head blows against his friend!

Whoa, Batsu totally just disappeared from where he should have been. His face was totally supposed to meet the full force of Hinata's big giant sunflower explosion, and not be all the way over there where...

Oh, that's not good.

Not quite expecting Batsu to move that fast, Hinata's left with hardly any time to try to do anything to get away from the forceful strike, whipping up her arm to try to intercept the strike, but it just barrels right on down, knocking aside her arm and sending her down to her knees with the force of it.

That... hurt.

Hinata's about to give up, though, that TAIYO SPIRIT burns deep inside of her, and so she tries to use her new position to her advantage, immediately lashing out at Batsu's leg in the hope that he'll be off balance, trying to grab him around the ankle and yank his foot out from under him as she stands up to send him flat on his back.

It's a small miracle that Brett himself didn't end up taking the chi blast to the face. It's only a quick dive and a slide on his hockey padding that keeps him from finding his face exploded off. And he doesn't even have his helmet to help him right now!

He'd curse, if he was a talking sort in a fight, but again, he only knows one direction: forward. He's not about to bow down and cry uncle yet. Going for the high-low game again, with HInata sweeping out with her arm at Batsu's leg, Brett goes for something unconventional (or at least for him): reeling back with his stick, hefting it javelin style, he takes aim...and then chucks it, butt-end first straight for Batsu's chest. Lets see him keep his balance for something like THIS!

Well, there was a trouble with the high low game. Most of the time, it was pretty brilliant. But, exceptions occur, especially when throws are involved. Batsu drops his foot besides him, nodding furiously. "You okay, Hi- Hey!" Hinata jerks low, and Batsu falls backwards. Twisting his body around, he manages to catch his fall, using his right arm to catch and slow the impact. A little shaken, and that's it. But now he was prone... and Brett's stick flies over him.

Again, the trouble with the high low game.

Batsu jerks his foot, shaking himself free and backwards. Stumbling up, he points at the hockey player. "Hey! You seem pretty good. And I gotta say, you got GUTS. Show me how good you are without your stick!" And Batsu quick steps it right towards Brett, leaping through the air, attempting to unleash a flying tackle right on top of him.

Well... that's not quite what Hinata was expecting to happen... Batsu is apparently starting to get his game going nice and solid, and if he keeps that up, well... he's probably going to turn this game around completely.

So, at a time like this, it's Hinata's job to help make sure that her side doesn't lose; after all, she's part of a team, and a good teammate shows consideration for their allies, and Brett's handled enough that she can't let him down at a time like this, so while Batsu's rushing in at Brett, Hinata's settling in for a pincer attack from behind...

The moment Brett seems far enough out of the way that she doesn't have a chance of hitting him, she dashes forward and shouts out, "Hey, Batsu! Let's see how you handle this!" She goes flying in, her hand suddenly bathed in chi as she unleashes a furious serious of punches, each one ending in a tiny explosion, her hand moving so fast that it look like she's got a dozen of them all at once, and it top it all off, she lowers herself down to one knee and then rockets up into the air with her fist burning with brilliant, flaming chi as it rises toward Batsu's chin in a spiralling uppercut.

Unfortunately, to get out of the way, Brett had to do something drastic.

And again, unfortunately, that something drastic was not letting himself get caught by the fast stepping Batsu and get tackled to the ground. Definitely not his choice, considering how much it freakin' hurt to get tackled like that! No....his plan was...something different. Something that would never come to pass anyways....

What does come to pass is Brett being down, long enough for Hinata to charge in with her explosive, fiery, high-energy barrage, as suitable for one who seems to embody Genki. And for Brett...what does HE embody?

Well, he embodies the power of keeping forward and never backing down, supposedly. And that's the kind of thing that he seems to try even despite his wrecked state, his stick reaching up for Batsu, regardless of how he ends up after Hinata's assault, to try and hook his stick around his head. And then?...well, it may not be as spectacularly done as the aborted team up attack's version, but the idea is to yank Batsu forward...and then DIVE straight into him with a full body elbow strike to the chest....before Brett himself drops down cold to the ring floor, eyes open to the sky as he struggles to get breath back into his body.

The long and short is that Hinata does get him from behind. Just... well, not in the way that she probably hoped for. Batsu manages to take Brett down, smashing him hard into the mat. Batsu rises up, and... realizes how much trouble he is in. Both Hinata and Brett were charging in swinging like maniacs. The hot-blooded youth roars.

"This is IT! BRING IT!"

Batsu begins weaving and dodging Brett relentless charge. As the hockey player pushes forward, Batsu just falls back. Between his weaves, he snaps his arm backwards, blocking each of Hinata's frantic punches. For a moment, Batsu's true potential became dangerously apparent as he actively dodges one fighter as he defends against the other fighter. Finally, Brett unleashes his elbow to the chest. Batsu sidesteps it, letting the man fall to the ground.

Okay, one down.

Hinata's uppercut proves more problematic. Batsu raises his arms forward, and decides to catch the uppercut. Interlocking his fingers, he stretches down, stopping and slowing the finisher cold. He nods firmly, and unlocks his fingers. Promptly, he snaps out, attempting to grab Hinata. If successful, he will hold her up high, nod furiously.

And in an act of total friendship, bump heads with Hinata.

Okay, and then things suddenly start going... not at all Hinata's way.

Although most people would never believe it, even the powerful energy that seems to be bottomless in the Sunshine Girl does have a limit, and she's reaching the point where she's getting sluggish, slow, can't quite think straight anymore, which leaves her completely open to the force of Batsu's head colliding with her's over, and over, and over again.

Sure, he might be going on and on about how this is really a friendship thing, but it's harsh enough that by the time he lets go of Hinata, leaving the usually perky girl to stumble around in a daze, it's already obvious that a nasty bruise is forming right where the strikes kept hitting.

"...wh... where am I?" she asks as she stumbles around, pulling herself together as much as she can, looking for all the world like she's about to fall flat on her face... until her hand whips around by instinct alone, thrusting itself right at Batsu's face where a burst of chi forms at the tip of her fist, growing, growing, growing, blossoming outward with the last of her strength into an impressive sunflower of pain... before she keels over.

Batsu's head was not -as- bruised. It was thanks to his thick skull, of course, as well as his training. But as he slowed down, his grin melted into concern. Hinata was acting... funny. "Hinata, are you okay? I didn't mess you up too bad, did I?"

Her answer explains it well.

Batsu puts her down, and takes a step back. Motioning for the judges, he glances at his friend. "I think she is down, guys! Come on, Hinata, you are going to be o-HEY!" Batsu's concern is interrupted by the SPIRIT lurching forward, bringing a blast of chi with her. Batsu staggers back, trying to step out before she asplodes in his face. He is too slow, though, and Hinata accidently knocks him reeling. Batsu falls on his back, prone.

The judges watch, thinking carefully. All three were out? This looked like a normal Triple Knock Out. Then the widow-peaked boy twitches. Once again, he rises up, his face blackened by the blast. Wiping his face off, he rushes over to Hinata, waving for the medical teams to come over. "COME ON! Hinata is HURT!GET OVER HERE NOW BEFORE I KICK YOUR ASSES!" The teenager roars, the judges shaking there heads.

Could he just accept a victory like a normal guy?

COMBATSYS: Batsu has ended the fight here.
