Assoc Press Report: THAILAND FALLS?! -- Sat Jun 2 2007 -- Vega
----------------------
AP- Sat June 2, 3:24 PM ET

BANGKOK - (AP) The rogue terrorist and leader of Shadaloo known as 'Lord Vega' said his leadership has ousted the Prime Minister, Thaksin Shinawatra.

The coup leaders say the cabinet and parliament have been abolished, and that all will learn to serve his elite and goals.

Mr Thaksin cancelled a speech he was due to give at the UN. He is unable to return to Thailand, an order of death held against him.

The military said the country's stock market, banks and schools would remain closed until such time as they could be put to work for Shadaloo.

BBC World, CNN and other international TV news channels have been taken off the air, while Thai stations have broadcast footage of the royal family and patriotic songs.

'Temporary measure'

In the capital, Bangkok, Shadaloo terrorists seized government offices and took up strategic positions around the city. There are reports of armaments ranging from simple soldiers to giant mechanized fighting platforms patrolling various cities throughout the nation.

'Coup-leaders' statements'

In a broadcast on all Thai television channels, the leadership of the Shadaloo, Lord Vega said he had taken control of Bangkok, declared nationwide martial law and ordered all soldiers to lay down their weapons.

"Those that stand in Shadaloo's way of its inevitable triumph will be crushed beneath our heel. Those who swear loyalty will find us most generous. This is but the first step in something far greater than the world will be able to comprehend." the announcement said.

Shadaloo announced that regional commanders would take charge of their areas outside Bangkok, and quell rioting with lethal force. It ordered provincial governors and heads of government agencies to report to them in the coming hours, with threats of violence if their demands were not met.

M.Bison returns!?! - Sun Jun 3 2007 - M.Bison
----------------------
John Dukes, legendary and allegedly crooked Boxing Promoter and one-time manager of legendary infamous boxer Mike Bison has appeared in the news, with a few soundbites and pictures of his now electric white frizzy hair-do, complements of Todoh, if you follow the news, happened at a book signing in South Town just before the announcement. John is working with Mike again, and Mike has quit his ties to Shadaloo saying "...that [censored] Vega can do whatever he wants with Thailand. His boys are [censored]s and he can hump all the little menwhores in Bangkok. Cuz that's why they calls it that. I'm sure he'll kill me for talking about him publically. Good for him. [Censored]." There's a soundbite of that going around on the sports reels, and apparently he was so worked up he spit into the first row of reporters at the press conference. But he has announced his re-entry into the Neo League, his regular competition in the Saturday Night Fights, and his returning to real nonlethal competitive mixed martial arts fighting. That John Dukes sure can smile, though, boy howdee.

International Concerns - Sun Jun 3 2007 - Kain
----------------------
AP- Sunday June 3, 7:00 PM GMT

JAKARTA - (AP) In response to the terrorist actions taking place in Thailand, the Indonesian foreign minister has announced that military intervention 'is a possibility'.

Foreign minister Dr. Hassan Wirajuda was quoted as saying, "We believe that these terrorist forces will not be content with their current acquisitions, and will make strikes against other nations in the region. Should this be the case, Indonesia will not hesitate to use armed force to defend herself and her allies."

Since the conclusion of the Indonesian civil war in 2005, the country's military has undergone an extensive modernization program, importing weapons and equipment from around the world. There have been allegations that some of these weapons have gone to internationally recognized terrorist groups within Indonesia, but solid evidence of these charges has yet to be presented.

Dr. Wirejuda dismissed such claims, stating that, "All military equipment acquired by our government is for the sole purpose of defending Indonesia and her people."

(Okay, people! It's been a while, but you didn't think that Kain just got bored and wandered away from his winnings, did you? Kain doesn't get involved in the day to day operations of the country, but in the end he still has a great deal of control over the inner workings of the government. There's nothing to publicly link Kain to the Indonesian government, but there's been enough mercenary activity around there that military or intelligence groups probably have a hunch that /something/ is up. And what better time to make some moves than when Vega is a being a nice shiny target?)

Violence in Thailand - Mon Jun 4 2007 - Prime
----------------------
Screaming. Men, women, children. Crying out in fear.

"Shadaloo forces entered Thailand's Pattani region today. The death toll is not known, but it is estimated to be in the hundreds, with many more wounded."

There are no words, just inarticulate voices. Throats tearing themselves raw.

"Shadaloo troops attacked anyone who gave even the slightest resistance."

Fleeing people, running through a village. Explosions. Flying debris strikes down a little girl - she collapses, dirt staining her ragged dress.

"Southern Thailand is home to a long-running separatist movement, with terrorist attacks and guerilla violence in the region."

Armored vehicles come into view. The girl lies in their path. A woman, perhaps her mother, tries to save her, tries to pick up her fallen daughter.

"For the past decade, the Thai government has been fighting unrest in these mostly-Muslim provinces. But it seems that Shadaloo's leader, the self-
proclaimed 'Lord Vega', has his own final solution to the problem."

The tanks don't stop. Blood and bone grinds beneath unyielding steel. Then the tanks open fire on the rest of the crowd.

"It seems Lord Vega will not tolerate any challenges to his rule. No matter the cost in human lives.

Screams of the dying.

"Adrian Chan, reporting for MTM News, Kota Bharu, Malaysia."

((OOC: We'll be running scenes with Shadaloo forces - read, tanks. I'm hoping to do one tomorrow night and at least another this week. If you're interested in beating on some evil metal, contact me. Or just stay tuned.))

Terrorist At Large! - Wed Jun 6 2007 - Alex
----------------------
Several news sources in Thailand -- most of which are controlled, now, by
Shadaloo -- have begun reporting on an incident at one of the main checkpoints
regulating entry and exit from Bangkok, the seat of the government. Western
news, in turn, picks up the reports as well. According to the reports, a
dangerous terrorist attempted to smuggle himself over the checkpoint by holing
one Niran Pran, a poor farmer, hostage in his pick-up truck. When questioned,
the terrorist reportely attacked several guards on-site and ran into the city.
He is currently at large. Wanted posters have been put up throughout the city,
and Shadaloo's security forces are on alert; citizens are advised not to
harbor the terrorist and to report him at once, under threat of vague but
serious penalty.

A picture of Alex is attached to local wanted posters and news bulletins.
