Russian Security Crisis -- Thu Aug 11 2005 -- Rolento

Russian authorities revealed today that, as of August 6th 2005, they 'lost a single theromonulcear warehead' that was placed within a confidential area. 'Even the United States military does not have this location,' was amongst the quotes, with apparent investigations about to be done from the United Nations and many associated countries who are doubtlessly frantic about such. The model is one of the cold-war intercontinental ballistics, with enough destructive force to obliterate a target the size of Manhatten Island and cause catastrophic damage otherwise.
Russia has released that 'one scientist familiar with the missile' is missing, but he 'does not have any knowledge on how to arm it.' Theories seem to point that the uranium is going to be harvested for some use, given that there is no way for it to be armed without the Russian's final security measures, the proper codes and keys. These are relatively low-tech, but still beyond any Terrorist group's abilities to arm through standard hacking measures.
This facility was intended to continue loading the cross-country second strike missiles that Russia continues to operate to this day as a deterance, and as such depended much on simply being unknown. 'We had one private security interest in the site', was reported. 'But we will not reveal who it is.' The chance for leaks appeared to have been small, especially of a caliber capable of flawlessly extricating a mission. Three people were found dead, and no alarms were triggered. How many people there were, how they got the missile out, and where they took it is unknown.
Only one aspect has fully annoyed international parties, and that is that the nuclear warhead was stolen a week ago. 'We had no knowledge of a need to secure ports and aircrafts. If such a missile had been armed and detonated over a capital in a small plan, the results would be devestating.'
Where the missile and scientist is now, and who the culprit is, remains to be seen.

METRO CITY IC UPDATE -- Wed Aug 17 2005 -- Rolento

Rolento Schugerg has taken control of Metro City's media stations. This will be the radio from his side. It's doubtlessly going to be carefully screened. Incoming media to Metro City is also presently screened. What the occupants will know is this.
The city is beginning to normalize in areas that Rolento has taken control of. There have been no incidents to report, and the Metro ID card is being issued out. Reports show that many people are taking advantage of the security clearance, and it only requires proof of identity and residence within Metro City in order to get. It comes with a picture, as well. Reports and interviews from Colonels and those given the OK to interview said Colonels have good things to say about progress. The overall violence is down except for the quarter under police control.
As for outside Metro City:
The video tape showing a nuclear missile has been authenticated. Russian authorities have admitted that it is the missing missile from serial numbers, and that the missing scientist is also there. Russia has said that the scientist in question would run safety checks on arming the missile, and would be one of the top people to verify that particular claim. He did not seem forced to say that the missile was armed, and the device upon it in the video has not been identified as anything other then 'Not part of the warhead design.' All internet connections to Metro City are down, and media only goes out -- not in. Checkpoints have increased in strength, and for the most part it's now a blackout as far as what is really happening; Many people are trying to read between the lines of Rolento's media propaganda for actual clues.
Another video was released, showing Cody tied to a chair and badly beaten. Rolento can be seen behind him, knife to Cody's throat. Cody is very much gagged to a harsh degree. "I am announcing the capture of a prisoner of war. Any open hostilities engaged on me will result in his public execution. I will negotiate for his release this weekend; Make no move until then. If I catch word of any hero -- even Terry Bogard," The latter with annoyance. "Causing further disrupting in my sectors will similarly result in Cody's execution." The video is in the process of being authenticated.

IC Metro City 8/22 -- Mon Aug 22 2005 -- Rolento

Within Metro City's filtered news.
A cargo plane landed on Metro Bridge. It carried medical supplies for the hospitals. This has been verified. Two conflicts were confirmed, one a major assault on the City Hall barricade. All parties were completely destroyed, with no civilian casualties or major damage that will not be fixed within a couple days. The D-Day to the attack on the Prison and Police is near, and civilians are advised to stay clear of them if possible. The Metro ID card is getting many more uses, including being used as a driver's liscense. Many people are going to be pulled over randomly to check if driving, so you better get them. Rolento has established a 4-code warning system for certain areas. On a 3, stay away. On a 4, access denied.
Current 1's: Random patches of city.
Current 2's: Downtown. Patrols are increased. Random Metro ID card checks. People who don't have them are directed to the building.
Current 3's: The area around the police blockade.
Current 4's: Three blocks around City Hall. Buildings in his area are going to be retrofit for Rolento's government.
Many interviews are done. Rolento states he is allowing citizens of 'New Metro', the first time this term has been used, as something of a congress. The vote will be set up within a month. Some politial shuffling is done, but until the police quadrant falls it seems unlikely to work.

Outside Metro (Stuff Metro does not get)
Rolento has made a statement. Cody is going to be executed for the assault on City Hall, and for the continued attacks on his powerbase. A date has not been given yet; It will be done one morning at an undetermined location before Saturday. Rolento has been speaking with America and the United Nations. This is all that's known at the time. Some military action has brewed around Metro, but not within eyesight. National actions are oddly mixed. The Middle East claims military junta's are routine, and it's America's fault for allowing it to happen. Some think they are getting their own medicine. Overall, the main people are supremely against Rolento and are doing all they can not to. The only country with /any/ neutrality of 'import' is Germany, seeming to step backwards. The video of Cody in Rolento's captive was confirmed. Cody is in his custody. Also, news arrives of 'camps' for people Rolento has caught. Many were base criminals, but some where innocents. One picture shows a man sobbing in a dank cellar, trembling. This was given by Rolento, apparently as a warning.

LACEY CHABERT WITH BRAD PITT?! LIVING IN SIN! -- Sun Aug 28 2005 -- Duolon

The two actors, holed up in Metro City with a good deal of the rest of the population, were recently seen in an altercation with one of the city's current guardsmen, a member of the Shank Squad identifying herself as LiX. One of our reporters at the scene, Brian Radsley, reports that Brad Pitt was called out of his vehicle by the Shank Squadder, and given an "intimate patdown" following the girl's exclamation that she wished Mr. Pitt would give her his babies. A tipsy Lacey Chabert came out of the limosine at this time, and has been quoted as calling the Shank Squad member a "stupid whore", and "too ugly for radio".
Following this exclamation from Lacey, the actress continued to rant, claiming that "LiX" was trying to "molest" her boyfriend(Brad Pitt), and upon seeing Lacey come out of the limosine to stop this, punched Lacey in the gut. (This last part is a supposition on the reporter's part, going off of Mr. Pitt's later explanation) The catfight between Lacey and "LiX" raged for a while, and the Shank Squad member wound up running away upon hearing that Brad was sorry, but he couldn't date her. When the security came up right afterward, he screamed something along the lines of "YEAH! THAT'LL SHOW YOU TO PUNCH A PREGNANT WOMAN IN THE GUT!" The actor ducked into his limosine with his girlfriend, and left the scene.

Within Metro City:
*** Guerilla forces attempting to 'free' the city attacked the prison twice. The second time, a gas vein was inadvertantly blown up in the crossfire. The prison was destroyed. Survivors are in the hospital, and expected to be transfered outside Metro City. Metro City cards are said to be used by 40% of occupants. People are still leaving more then coming in, but the checkpoints have been reported to be working. Interviews /appear/ to be less biased, with some reporters coming back in. Colonels get a lot of facetime, stating that the 'insurgency' is only harming the civilians, and blatant shows of force will cause the same to be returned. The public is urged to remain calm.

Outside Metro City:
*** The explosion in Metro City had information leaked that seemed to hint Rolento placed charges that destroyed the retrofitted prison buildings and detonated a gas vein. Such shows of violence to deter heroism are beginning to increase. Rolento has stated the execution of Cody is going to be done sooner, and the videotape of it will be revealed. Many criminal elements seem to be going into the city, and concern about ports being used for smuggling into America are brought up. Still no word from America or United Nations, other then 'We will not work with Juntas and Terrorists.' No word about what exactly is going to be done about it.

Shank Squad Money Schemes? -- Wed Sep 7 2005 -- Rolento

Interpol has revealed through collaboration with England's MI5 that a massive amount of laundered counterfeit bills have been located. Money was deposited in swiss accounts via an intermediary in Germany, and then the money drawn out again in American currency in large amounts. It was not pinpointed until the Swiss realized that this currency was false. All Swiss accounts have been frozen, but 'Potentially one hundred million' in American dollars is in Shank Squad hands.

"How Rolento Schugerg managed to get production plates of this quality is entirely surprising." was stated by Interpol. Rolento had managed to imitate a simple investment group in Germany that made money buying and selling currency. He timed the deposits with drops in England's pound, and withdrew into dollars in time when the exchange-rate was top notch.

"The entire scenario lasted about two months before the counterfeit bills were realized." Swiss officials released, although little more then that. Interpol and MI5 further added that such a scheme was by no means beyond Rolento, whom has known experience in global politics and economy, but where he got the plates is an absolute mystery. "We were not even aware such a thing was possible."

Statistics and calculations hint that this might of been the direct reason Rolento was capable of acquiring the ordinance and vehicles from numerous black markets, ranging from Arabian to primarily Russian and German sources. "It explains how he purchased Stingers and Hind's and tanks. Those are Cold War surplus, and can even be legally bought through front companies. The only question was where this amount of currency came from."

Further analysis have shown that Rolento has managed to export 'millions' in bonds, and cashed them in multiple locations. These came from banks in Metro City, and upon realization of this leak they were all nullified. Swiss Banks are remaining aggravatingly quiet. "We suspect Rolento Shugerg could be laundering literally millions and millions from Metro City's bank vaults, and there is simply no way to tell where this are coming from unless they are intercepted leaving the city."

Some people have stated what might be a frightening possibility. "Rolento Schugerg could of stolen a nuclear weapon years ago with the same ease. What if this is merely a gigantic fluke? What if he is actually looting Metro City from bottom to top, stealing from a direct economic hub of the world's most powerful country, to fund a /primary/ operation?" The only estimates that have been given is that Rolento, within the time he occupied Metro City, could have gained 'Hundreds of millions' through multiple illicit activites during his control of port shipments. "He may of even made the 'Metro ID Card' simply to allow traffic to flow through the city, in order to smuggle things /out./"

Media coverage has already begun anew in Metro City, and many people are reporting his monstrocities. His massacre of Rebels and Police the two weeks prior to his surrender appear to be much more vicious. 'Dozens' were killed, including many civilians, in blanket attacks at key positions. It is doubtful that the police hierarchy will recover in the near future, which might stress Metro City's ability to stall Mad Gear, who took the smallest losses. Public murders were done as intimidation, and a few prisoners have reported 'ghastly' interrogation. Dozens and dozens have reported loss of all gold, silver, and platinum assets, and almost every single bank in Metro City was emptied almost immediately. Civilians managed to get through better then expected, without even a percent of the total civilian population expiring from initial polls, although easily fourty percent of police were killed, and a similar percent of rebel forces. It will be a long time getting Metro City stable. Estimates show that Rolento could have hundreds of millions with ease, although it will take him months to launder and remove all the items he has. What his goal is remains open to interpretation, although many believe occupying Metro City was only a tactical step, revenge against both Haggar and America. His legacy will long be fading, so the bulk of such could be considered a success. Many people have massive press coverage now as heroes, and the Shank Squad has the first truly public demonizing publicity after months of propaganda and more subtle mercenary actions. However, it's doubtful they will have to work for money again in the near future.

Charity Concert For Metro City! -- Mon Sep 19 2005 -- Athena

(AP) -- With Rolento's invasion over, Metro City has recieved a number of notable donations from stars, but Athena Asamiya's concert effort was a little different than your usual benefit concert. Rather than the usual appeal for aid, Ms. Asamiya instead focused supporting local volunteers.
"Those who are willing to lend their hearts and bodies to Metro City are some of the biggest heroes of them all. From those who fought against Rolento's short-lived tyranny... to the people coming now, to help fix the damage done. The money will be important, but now, I think what people need is a real helping hand, from people who care about Metro City and everybody in it.", said Athena Asamiya, who recently fought in King of Fighters 2005 as part of Japan's "ESAKA" team, and known for her history of charitable efforts.
While tickets were sold, they were also distributed free to volunteers aiding in the relief effort. Furthermore, tickets were refundable with notice from local charities, to encourage people to assist after the event. While proceeds went to local Metro City charities, Athena kept quiet on the exact amount earn. "The numbers aren't important.", she said. "This is about people coming together to rebuild their community in the wake of a tragedy, and healing the wounds left by a madman." Television broadcasts were reportedly snubbed, but a live webcast was available at her website for a donation. A DVD of the event will be available in October, with proceeds going to Metro City charities.
"I can only hope that people really do come to help out.", one local fan said. "People shouldn't come out just for the concert, but if they help out because of it... that's good enough."

A news reporter is at Metro City, where a woman is standing in front of a bay. All sorts of ships are there of differing companies.
"This is Vicky Valon, reporting live from Metro City. A couple of weeks after the devastating take over of Metro City, the relief teams have been surprised to find that there is an organization that is spearheading a new wave of relief for the people within these destroyed walls. Hundreds of various companies have donated millions to the cost and organization leading this, the Masters Foundation, has donated over ten million to the cause. While Ken Masters, the man responsible for organizing this influx of donations from building equipment to school supplies, was unavailable for interviews, he had this written for the world. 'We all should help this poor city that was vicious attacked and gutted by criminal forces. Many people died to ensure these people would be safe... The least we could do is help with a pure and honest heart. P.S. Go punch yourself in the face, Howie.' ..."
The reporter looks at the note again before shaking her head. "Either way, the relief will likely be a welcome addition to Metro City and will allow those working in the city to continue their efforts to bring it back to it's original glory. Back to you in the studio."
At the desk, the anchorman says, "Speaking of Ken Masters, a new DVD will be out soon a fight he had with Iori Yagami, one that people say might be one of Ken Masters' greatest fights yet..."
