Description: With the center of the city somewhat liberated, Rolento's chain of supply needs to be cut off. That means an all-out assault on the Shank Squad-controlled harbor. And that means hot-blooded Rambo-style action!
The Harbor appears to be having an impressive shipment coming in tonight. What is likely the culmination of a couple weeks intensive negotiations with overseas black market operatives ends with two massive cruisers under official passports -- enough to legally cross American waters without being searched -- start to chug towards the docks themselves. They are massive, likely able to hold an incredible number of vehicles within. This place has been fortified, but it is not as strong as the Prisons themselves were. The lack of firepower is showing, but still there are five tanks and eight humvee's, with some machineguns mounted. Spotlights flood even the smallest cranny in light. The area is enormously open, given the loading area has been completely cleared. The distance to the docks themselves is about one hundred yards of open concrete, spotted with the tanks and humvee's. It would be a deathtrap for anyone vaguely normal. Multiple Shank Squad members are here, preparing for the pair of ship's arrivals. And Rolento himself stands in the midst, giving orders and triple-checking to make sure that nobody is near the perimeter. This could turn the war back to his side without any difficulty. He custom-ordered the perfect onslaught to stop non-vehicle combat. Consistent with his present needs, Duolon was paid a special bonus to be present and roam the surrounding harbor buildings, attempting to pinpoint anyone out of the ordinary.
This. Must. Not. Fail.
Except for Rolento barking out orders and the squeaky whistle of tank treads, all grows eerily quiet. The birds are quiet, the people are quiet, even the rushing ocean grows quiet. Nothing.
And then, clear as day, comes a *FSHOOOO* from the south.
And then a sudden *KABOOOM* as the armored hide of a tank explodes into a raging inferno. Clearly, someone's been letting the schoolkids play with rocket propelled grenades. The sound of a shell being reloaded can most likely be heard, but there's also the distinct sound of someone running.
It's the first salvo of a battle... and the standard-bearer is a lone soldier at first -- with a loooong white headband and the RPG-launcher on her shoulder. And war paint on her face. "HOW ARE YOU GENTLEMEN?!" Never mind that she's already used that quote in this war. Shut up.
At a set distance, she drops to one knee, and lets loose another RPG, aiming it squarely for the treads of the nearest tank. *FSHOOO* *KABOOOM!* Let's get this party started!
Megumi has gone for none of the more expressive things Sakura has. It took a while to get to another end of the harbor as it was without being seen. She's foregone the paint, and foregone the rocket launcher; 'I hate weapons like this...' had been her reason. But she can hear the explosions off in the distance just fine, and that's her signal to move in from another front; one about ninety degrees off from where Sakura is. She's chosen a a humvee for her initial target, bringing together her hands for a red energy sphere and hurling it at the front hood. That's probably hypocritical to 'hate weapons' while using techniques that're about as powerful as a rocket, but she's doing it anyway. She had been hidden. Quite visible now out in the open of the harbor.
What kind of proletarian fool gets his or her own hands dirty blowing up a military vehicle? Not the kind with enough money to get someone to do it for her, that's for sure. On the far side of the harbor from Megumi and forming a nice triangle with her accomplices is Karin... in a rowboat. No, seriously: Karin and three bodyguards are in a nice, decent-sized rowboat: two on oars and one on bass. Sorry, rocket launcher.
Scanning the area with binoculars, the blonde sees the signal and points her arm. "You may fire at will, Hans!" How did she know the name of the guy in that Hummer was Will? Maybe she's psychic. Or maybe she just wanted to blow something up. Either way, that's what happens. KABOOM!
"Alright, let's move in." And, grunting, people on the Kanzuki payroll begin the rowing! Rowing for their lives! Hopefully in enough time for Karin to leap over the breakwater and kick Rolento in the face. That'd be sweet.

He /knew/. Goddammit, he KNEW. Duo Lon had, minutes ago, leapt from the building he was perched upon, landing on a building a few stories lower, teleporting to the next, so-on and so-forth... you know the drill. Ninja tricks. By the time the young man is within detailed eyesight of the harbor, he runs to the edge of the building he's landed on, gripping the safety-rail with one bony hand, and shoves binoculars onto his eyes with the others.
"...Mother fuck." Nobody could hear him, right? He didn't have to put up the Wall of Arrogant Silence. "They're already that far in? Why did you send a me out with such horrible equipment, Rolento?!" The Hizoku throws the binoculars to the ground and hops off of that building, hitting the street relatively softly.
Warning: This paragraph contains ninja stuff. Duo Lon frowns(running down the sidewalk is not only not-cool, it's not effective), and clambers up a stoplight post, running along the spindly arm to land on a building's rooftop, making his way from there to the end... and leaping off. Those cluttery boots land on the edge of a cargo crate, and, well, if there are any army dudes there with guns, they'd have trouble hitting him. He knows how to run. Wires, crates, bouncing, running, skipping, jumping... he makes the best out of whatever's available to /not touch the ground/, and to /get to Rolento as fast as possible/. The ninja reaches the center of the barricaded Harbor, and amidst explosions and gunfire, stalks up to Rolento, a frown on his face. The walkie talkie at his side is thrown to the ground(breaking into it's respective components, which break into theirs, and so on, and so forth), and narrow, furious eyes regard the military man.
"How am I supposed to inform you when the walkie talkie has no batteries?!"
It's somewhat late for Duo Lon to come and warn the commander. Sakura's RPG impacts the side of a tank. However, beyond the flames, it really doesn't do anything. They aren't nearly of a caliber enough to do more then singe the paint on those vehicles -- they work on Humvee's and potentially Helicopters with good aim, but that's it. However, she does manage to crack one's treads on the second shot. Regardless they turn and begin to fire, but are notably slow. Megumi's blast horrifically shatters the front of a Humvee, which is knocked smoking away. And Karin further proves that the RPG's work when another Humvee explodes. That leaves 4 tanks, 1 damaged tank, and 6 more hummers. Which all fan out and start unloading, to little effect since they have no stats and Rolento isn't going to spoof them with his own for a moment. The helicopters appear to be absent, but that's not unexpected given the Stingers.
As for the Commando? He twists towards Sakura, a sort of hatred in his eyes that shifts well past the veils of sanity. Duo Lon's approach is met with a snarl, and he attempts to shove the assassin backwards. "You idiot! You got that from recharge shelf! I cannot even trust you to check your own equipment?! How inept can a trained mercenary be!!" Probably not the best statements to build morale, but Rolento's obviously not in a good mood. And he hasn't been for the whole weekend. Karin's approach is ignored, for now. "Attack Megumi. Do not allow her to get close enough to heal these two. I will take care of them!"
And then he bursts into a run, body arched down and baton spinning. He then leaps high in the air, arcing down towards Sakura with a massive yell. His baton snaps out, attempting to impact her with no small amount of force. Enough to crack the concrete even if he misses, if nothing else.
As for the two ships? They appear to not be worried. RPG's won't pierce those hulls either. They continue advancing towards the unloading points, hands appearing on deck and many Shank Squad people continuing to prepare.

Well, the battle's on, it seems! Already on the ground, Sakura takes the opportunity to reload -- but oh noes! It's incoming fire! Securing the launcher upon her shoulder, Sakura leaps out of the way of an incoming tank shell, cutting one cartwheel to the side before landing in a crouch. Aim, center, trigger... *FSHOO* *KABOOM!* This time, the lucky target is the engine compartment of a HUMVEE. Luckily, the men know when to bail. Woo!
Though by this point, Rolento's already leaping in -- luckily, Sakura has something really friggin huge to block with -- being the tube of her RPG launcher. Unfortunately, it gets dented -- but -fortunately- it's unloaded at the time! Woo! Sakura rolls back from the impact as the ruined launcher rolls to the side, but when she's upright again, she's all grins. "Shoulda asked me to join after all, y'know?" she quips, just before dashing in in an attempt to catch the military man in a quick headlock. "Hyaaa!"
Megumi is only vaguely aware that Rolento and Duo Lon are discussing her. She's pretty sure someone's reported the three of them by now, or that even three seperate reports have gone in...but super-specific reactions, she's not aware of just yet. She's keeping to the edges of the harbor for now, using a warehouse as cover as she jumps onto the roof, going out to the edge and flinging another energy shot...this one down at a soldier some distance away, before she rolls backwards and stays low to avoid any immediate return fire. She's very on-edge though, expecting something to go wrong any moment...
Well, isn't that nice? Rolento saved Karin a lot of work there by bringing himself right in range. Never mind that apparently "able to row really fast" was on the application checklist for Kanzuki Heavy Industries Security. You never know, sometimes they're looking for things that aren't on the classified ads. "Leave the fighting to us," Karin instructs her bodyguards as the rowboat pulls up to the pier. "Just do something about those tanks!" And they have a rocket launcher and god only knows what else, so even though they, too, are not statted, we can focus on fighting and not on playing NPCs, which frankly got REAL OLD last night. Not bitter, no sir.
As for Karin herself? Grinning, she reaches out, snags the rail of the pier, and quite simply pulls herself up and *vaults* over it, flying through the air with a jump kick t the back of Rolento's head. "Oh, I've been waiting for this chance a long time!"
Duo Lon, by now, is entirely blown away by Rolento's attitude. As the Shanker runs off to beat on Sakura, Duo stands there a moment, running a hand through his hair, before coming back to his senses. There was obviously a Megumi to deal with. And if previous fights had been any indication, the girl was capable of making everything bad that happened to her simply... go away. She'd keep him busy for a while, no doubt. Duo turns, looking for the young girl(He's relatively calm, has a hand in his pocket, one other hanging at his side), eyes scouting the edges of the battlefield. Why would the psychic run in if she could hang back? They were /all/ projectiling. A girl on the roof, however, draws his attention. The moment he sees a red ball of psychic energy slam into a soldier's back... Duo's gone.
On that roof, perhaps twenty feet from Megumi, Duo Lon reappears, whether or not this is behind her or not, he's running forward, and vaulting forward. Man, screw this ninja stealthy flashy stuff. Rolento wanted something done? It was DONE. In mid-air, Duo's fingers grab for Megumi's shoulders and neck. If he hits, well, bad things will happen. If not, well, nothing happens and he looks like a moron.

This is not a good day for Rolento. Not by a longshot. Sakura manages to get her arms around the commando, but it doesn't seem to be doing a large amount. His neck is rather thick, and the evasion attempt at best minimal. Karin is dismissed in a manner that might be almost dismissive; Twirling around his baton, he catches the kick deftly on the end and whirls her past. Using that momentum, still spiraling his baton in an impressive manner, he attempts to shrug off Sakura while unleashing a whirlwind assault of sheer pain. Three lunging strikes, each hard enough to shatter stone to bits. "You..." Rolento's eyes flash now with recognition. This is the first time the pair has met the whole war. "So you think I am little more then a monster as well." He slips back, now facing both Karin and Sakura with a definitely wary appearance.

"Monster?" asks Sakura, stepping back after each strike comes crashing in. She can't keep it up forever, she knows, but each strike of the baton is met by her handguards, knocked aside and prevented from landing in more sensitive areas. "More like 'delusional', but hey, whatever, right?" But really, this match wouldn't be complete without one of her signatures; as soon as Rolento's assault fades, Sakura's hands snap to her side. And from there... "HADOOOUKEN!" Yep, trashcan-sized fireball, right to the military man's face if she's lucky!

Megumi is proven right when that strange man appears on the roof with her. She didn't see his arrival, but she did feel something, and twirls to face Duo Lon. His effort to bring her down only half-succeeds, as Megumi twists away almost too late, getting away without too much harm. "I knew it. You again. Shingo had said you were trying to change sides, but you were just toying with his feelings, weren't you?"
Megumi's back on her feet very quickly, lunging away from Duo Lon. "He tries to see the best in people. But there's nothing good in you, is there?" Megumi's accusations are delivered in a quiet, 'withdrawn' tone. Then she leaps up and inverts, body twirling as she divebombs headfirst towards Duo Lon. One fist is extended, wrapped in energy as she falls, aiming to drive it into his chest.
Well, damn. Thankfully Karin's studied up on her Flying Wallenda-fu, so when she's knocked away the blonde lands back on her fight and ready for more fighting. "Yes, I think 'deluded' covers it nicely," she adds, rushing Rolento again with an attempt to grab his back while he's distracted with the Hadouken. If she can find purchase, she'll simply go for the knee machinegun, ramming her leg into the small of Rolento's back a few times for good measure. "Enforced order isn't the same as peace!"

Anyway, he's none too happy that she's /winning/ at the moment, and plans on fixing this immediately. Ninja Skills Time. Duo falls backwards, leg wreathed in purple energies, and kicks forward, snarling. Screw these kids. Screw their morals, and happy songs, and credit-rolls at the end of every episode. They wanted to be seen as SERIOUS ADULT FIGHTERS? Then they should be able to deal with shadowy energy darkness flying out of rooftops at their knees.

"Delusional?!" Rolento appears to be outright insulted by this statement, yanking off a grenade from his harness. The safety and pin go scattering away, and Karin manages to grapple on to Rolento. He's impacted by the knee multiple times; What's with all the schoolgirls clinging to him? Maybe this is what Shingo feels like. He still doesn't bothor doing anything about Karin, and she didn't seem to hurt him much either. How annoying. The grenade is hurled viciously. It impacts the incoming burst of chi, obliterating it. The grenade continues on, trailed by blue fire, before detonating right in Sakura's face with a bright enough flash of fire to briefly illuminate the surroundings. Only then does he snap out his elbow, trying to drive Karin off him. "All I wanted was to free this city from the tyranny of America. You do not realize what this country has done! What it condones! What it continues to do! And stop kneeing me in the goddamn back, you worthless gnat!" Well, he said something to Karin.

Grenades? Pssh. Sakura never stopped backing up, and when her Hadouken was blasted through... well, there's only one thought going through her head right now. It's not really family-friendly.
But the point is, while it may be detonating in her face, Sakura's reflexes have already planned for this contingency, in the midst of her mental agitation. See, her hands were still outstretched for it -- and while she may not be thinking clearly, her body's acting on its own accord. Leaping backwards, her extended hands grasp around -another- blossom of blue flame -- one which powers through the detontating blast and scream out towards Rolento with crazy speed. "HADOOOOUKEN!"

"They aren't seperate. You can't be a monster in one aspect and say 'Oh, that is just my work' then think you're a good person outside of it. It's not like that." Megumi lands on her hands, and cartwheels sideways out of the path of the 'shadows' sent at her. "You and Rolento and everyone else here make me sick." Then she's rushing in and grabbing at one of Duolon's wrists with one hand, as she tries to spin behind him with the held limb. If she gets it, she'll wrench the arm up, continue her spin to get back in front of him...then grab the other arm and wrap one of her own around his neck, and swing downward to toss him down. Not off the roof, just down onto its surface with some notable momentum.
Oh, 'gnat'. Yes, there's a cutting remark. Karin doesn't seem unnerved or annoyed by Rolento's dismissal of her -- intentional or otherwise -- at all; in fact, tactically it works to her advantage in some respects. She knows Sakura, and even though she can't really see her rival through Rolento's, uh, torso, she knows that if something comes flying at Sakura, then Sakura's going to send something flying back. So, gritting her teeth and digging in her heels, Karin doesn't let go of her grip; she simply moves to chuck Rolento forward into the Hadouken itself. "Alley-oop!"

Duo Lon's world is flipped around, and the Hizoku lands on his back, eyes closed, jaw set. He's not one to show emotion, but the idea that this... moron child could be defeating him was really irritating the assassin. He simply lies there for a moment, shaking, fists clenched so hard he cuts his palms with those damn nails of his, and mutters to himself.
"You idiot, colorblind child. The world isn't black and white, and assuming that adults like myself and Rolento aren't capable of having morals or consciences is the most demeaning thing you could do." His hands begin moving, pure, well, /fury/ driving the motion now. Fuck this twit, he was getting pissy. Nobody tossed him around like that. Grey streaks begin to materialize, a low growl now behind his voice. Screw the sacrifices, he was going to power this himself. "So don't judge us by what we do or say, and try to read into it a bit more. It's people like YOU, fool girl, who make ME sick!" Towards her body, wherever's closest, Duo Lon thrusts his hands and screams, his own flesh withering as ghastly, life-draining energies manifest in his hands, a greyish ball streaking towards Megumi. Let it hit her. Please let it hit her.
Rolento is indeed hurled forward, attempting to strike aside the incoming hadouken with his baton but not quite managing, blown backwards in a flash of smoke. He slides to a stop thereafter, shoulders hunched forward and countenance definitely unamused. He doesn't have the manpower for this. Coming personally isn't going to be enough given the present circumstance. His entire dream is falling down around him... But that anger doesn't stretch all the way inside. Privately, this was all about revenge. Against America. Against Haggar. Against the world governments. A grin spreads across his face. Well. Mayhaps the nuclear crator within Metro City will remind people who they are dealing with. "Enough..." Rolento calmly muses, standing up straight and twirling his baton. "So you wish to fight a war like this. Guerilla assaults. Do you think I am not capable? The only reason you have not all been slaughtered is my attempts to keep this clean. But I was a Major in Vietnam. I lead a Special Forces team in the Mekong Delta. I will fight your war as I fought theirs! And this time, there is nobody to deny me!!" He then spreads his stance, obviously focusing. Eyes shift back towards Karin, and then Sakura. He's waiting. And that usually bodes ill.

Team-up attack for the win! Sakura had neglected to banter with the delusional lunatic here last time, but she's got a few moments after her fireball slams into him. "Free this city? They want you gone just as badly as we do. C'mon, now, seriously -- blowing stuff up when you don't get your way? Can we say 'temper tantrum?'" Never mind that it's exactly what Sakura did on her first Stinger retrieval mission -- but that was different! Operation complete, in that case.
And then he goes on with -his- schpiel. Sakura... holds her ground, clenching her fists at her side as a small tornado whips up around her. She's in a black mock turtleneck and camo pants, rather than her usual uniform, but her headband and hair are still kicked up. "Oh, please! Earth to Rolento... didn't guerilla attacks -win- that war, Rolento? I'm not even a history buff and -I- know that much! Lame!" She may be antagoning him here, but she's fought this man before -- foreboding expressions are bad, mm'kay?

Megumi isn't a child, but she is on the receiving end of Duo's larger, grey 'shadows.' Too fast to get away from, so she brings her arms up and readies herself for the worst. It's a 'worst' that feels very sick and wrong, making Megumi wince and cry out...but she weathers it well enough, still standing as it fades. "That's just an excuse! Some situations are complex, but most things really are 'black and white.' You put a price on killing people and try to betray everyone...that's about as awful as it gets."
And then Megumi thrusts her right palm forward, a hand-sized, sparkling red ball forming and flying towards Duo. No fancy tricks, just once it's fairly close, she clenches her hand into a fist to make it detonate and hopefully catch her enemy within its area of effect.
Coming to stand near Sakura, Karin doesn't get all glowy like Sakura, but she does remain in a fighting stance, not making any sudden moves but tracking her eye on Rolento. The blonde isn't a speed freak like Rollie or Lipstick Lad, but she's no slouch, and her perception is keen. Best to put it to use! Of course, she's also a talkative fighter, so the banter continues.
"I'm amazed you, who claim to be a realist, thought you could get away with this," she adds, with lazy amusement. "Is it a huge city? Certainly... but the nation wouldn't stand for it forever, nor would the fighters all over the globe who see your utopia for what it is." And here she grins, shifting her stance somewhat in a 'come on' sort of gesture. "The actions of a small-minded megalomaniac unable to see past the end of his own nose!"

And of course, with that orb flying towards him, Duo's sacred Ninja Training works again. It'd been messed up or something, obviously. Or he was just having a bad day. In any case... the ninja vanishes again, the explosion hits nothing but rocks on the end of the roof. Duo, for his fifteen million dollars, lands on the other side of the roof, eyes riveted on Megumi.
And he does nothing. "The last thing I'm going to tell you, girl, is that you've got a lot to learn. Death is part of life. Accept it." With that, he simply resumes his fighting stance. Hopefully he won't mess up anymore, because really, he's setting himself up for Classic Kung Fu Fighting. And a kick to the face isn't conducive to that.

"One man cannot win a war. That is what I learned. I shattered the Vietkong in every encounter. But you are right. Standard tactics were ineffective against such. That..." Rolento's eyes seem to flash in a morbid manner. "That is why I did what needed to be done. Slaughtering civilians to destroy those hiding within. Blasting crops, to starve them out. Interrogating caught prisoners until their gurgled words could not be understood. War crimes? What do I care of war crimes! There is no rules on the battlefield..."
And then Rolento merely lifts his fingers and snaps them once. A single hellish gunshot cracks through the air. The exact same sound Cody heard just before he went into a coma. That of a material-destroying sniper rifle at horrificly close range; And if it hits, Sakura would feel the bullet before the sound even reaches her ears. There would be no warning. It's hard to react to something when it goes faster then the speed of sound.
El Gado chambers the rifle, empty shell clattering beside. "Mission complete..." he muses, in a suitably morbid tone.

Sakura falls the heck over.
No, really, she falls the heck over. Bullets hurt and stuff, man. But it's not like she's gonna -stay- down for the count or anything. Nope. She reaches to her shoulder, pressing her hand to her shoulder. It was a clean shot -- an inch to the left and she might be dead, an inch to the right, and she might have lost the use of her left arm forever. But whatever the reason... she's still alive. And through no fault of Rolento's. "G...gnnh..." mumbles Sakura, pushing back to her feet. "Cheap shots, huh? I see how it is... She points right back to where El Gado was sitting, her thumb dropping like the triphammer of a pistol. "Bang!" But she turns her eyes on Rolento's next, breathing ragged. "Gonna have to beat me the hard way, Yankee."

Fights like this tend to have little interludes in them. Megumi sees Duo Lon vanish, and looks skyward expecting an immediate attack. It doesn't happen...so he must be behind her. Spin. Correct. He's not attacking...and neither is she for the moment. "Nevermind. You don't care about anyone, and this talk isn't getting anywhere." She goes quiet after that, staring at Duo Lon, planning, thinking...and also thinking about what that noise she heard just now was. It was very sharp and loud...distinct.

"I don't care about business." Duo streaks forward, hands whipping out to either side, fingers curled into claws. He runs at a speed that could be considered, well... here. He's not running. He's like, sliding or something. Really fast. So it /looks/ like he's running. And just as he reaches Megumi, as those limbs rear back to jab violet nails into her? Well, Duo melts. Against the girl's front, melted flesh, bones, wet muscle slap as the ninja simply dissipates... a moment later they disintegrate into nothing. From the ground behind her, Duo Lon's skeleton, already moving into the first motions of his famed Shaki Juuryuu combo, is attempting to drive a bony elbow into her back. Next, Duo's reforming body's muscle-ridden hand claws her in the shoulder, and finally, the young man's fully fleshed right hand slams into her neck, nails digging deep before shoving her forward. That is, of course, if this whole thing hits.
There's a nice, terrible moment where Karin sort of hears a crack, and then watches in actual horror as Sakura goes down. Rivals, yes... but believe it or not, they're actually friends too, and watching your friend take an anti-material slug (something designed to take down TANKS) through the chest is not pleasant. At all. And then, in a flash, it's all over as Sakura stands up. Karin gives her a lopsided grin, and then turns to Rolento.
And it's very difficult to manage to get Karin angry. So far only Duo Lon and Leona have managed it, and now Rolento has too. She gives Rolento that wry grin too, and then simply says, "You have your target, gentlemen. Fire at will." Who's she talking to? Oh, right... the cordless mic taped inside her fuku blouse. And then, poor El Gado? Had better be quick on his feet. The sniper fire -- coming from the warehouse -- starts first, attempting to disarm and drive off the gangster. And if that doesn't work, there's always the RPG rocket that follows up a moment or two later. Boom!
And then the blonde readies herself and, with blinding speed, *leaps* at Rolento, lashing out with two palm strikes and then a sliding kick intending to knock the commando off his feet; trusting that the two stage attack will somehow break Rolento's defenses.

The palm strikes do catch Rolento off-guard. He manages to twist around and knock one aside, the section thudding against his shoulder ineffectively. The sweep, ergo, causes him to crash upon the ground in a hiss, but he immediately rolls backwards and kip-ups to his feet. Twirling his baton, Sakura is actually given a frown. El Gado had aimed for the central nervous system, given that a miss still constitutes a shattered lung or potential heart injury. Her shift just prior is the only thing that saved her life. Fate is fickle like that. Obviously in poor condition, Rolento merely rubs the blood away from his mouth, shifting away from Karin. He could take just Sakura. Karin's intrusion is definitely aggravating... But not for long. Pulling out his radio, he hisses into it before attaching it back to his combat vest. It seems the people on the large ships have seen enough, for they begin to turn away from the docks and start to chug back towards open sea. In a snap of motion, Rolento draws out a knife and hurls it brutally towards Sakura's knee, hard enough to potentially imbed down to the hilt. "It seems you win this round... But I will show you what damage can be wrought in a losing war..."
As for El Gado? He began to sight the scope again, when the sniper shot cracks into the concrete just in front. He frowns, standing up and tossing the weapon aside. As the RPG screams towards the assassin, he leaps forward. The explosion impacts just behind him, and he lands in a crouch within the harbor. Raising with an impossibly languid ease, the Arabian gives a deep bow towards Karin's bodyguards as he flits a long Bowie knife into his hands.
...And then he literally vanishes from sight, melting away in a disturbing ripple. That can bare little good.

See, when one looks death right in the eye and LAUGHS IT OFF? ... They might be just a =wee= bit crazy. And she's about to show Rolento just how crazy she can be -- because even before Rolento's knife starts flying her way, Sakura's already sensing an opportunity, centered on knocking the bejeezus out of Rolento. "HYAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!"
Sure, the knife embeds in her leg, but since she's running and not standing -- it hits in her thigh instead of somewhere more critical. "SHAAA---" She drops to her opposite knee afterward, flinging both hands forward with a... terrifyingly powerful yell to be coming forth from a 17-year-old schoolgirl's lungs. "SHAKUNETSUUU..."
And what's that in her hands? Blue flame? Why, no, as a matter of fact -- it's a deep orange color! The true flames come rushing forth, a testament to the schoolgirl's inner power: "HADOOOOOUKEN!"

Repeat a trick enough times, and someone will catch on. When Megumi sees Duo Lon coming in, she spins aside to avoid what is most likely just a feint frontal attack. She's /expecting/ an attack from behind; Duo Lon's done it enough times! And when she's proven right, the elbow is caught in one of her palms, his forearm grabbed in the other hand. The rest of this combination-strike won't be happening, as she raises the arm up, then past his head and downward to drive Duo Lon to the surface of the roof hard. It's a very smooth maneuver, just one that's going to hurt him a bit. She makes a lunging backstep after that, wary of any likely reprisals...
Karin recoils from her assault on Rolento, not actually looking toward El Gado but instead distracted by Sakura's yell. New techniques? No fair! She hasn't developed any new techniques of her own yet. Stupid rivalry. So, what do you do when your training with one of the world's premiere fighters has been interrupted by your heroic escapades in Metro City? You blame the guy what took over Metro and take it out on him. The blonde wastes no time getting back into the fray; she actually *chases* Sakura's projectile, coming in behind it with a vicious, dashing shotei punch to Rolento's chest, intended to knock him flat... of course, that's if Sakura's attack doesn't do it for her.
"Tch..." Now he's got a bloody lip. Sister went and did it. The ninja glares up at Megumi from the ground, breathing shallowly, needing to catch his breath. "You'd better hope I don't win here. I can't guarantee you'll live." Of course, he's not going to move for a while. Why not take a break, man? Seriously. You should take a moment, reevaluate, and consider whether or not it's a worthwhile attempt. Rolento's probably going down. Megumi won't be for a while, she can heal herself. This was a wonderful situation. So should Duo bolt? Or should he stay? In any case, things were winding down. The ninja just stares at Megumi from the ground, waiting for her attack, whatever it may be.

Well, Rolento merely snaps forward, and drives himself right into Karin's punched. This partially doubles him over, but it doesn't seem he cares. If anything, being poleaxed appeared to have given him a bit more interia... For the four anti-vehicle grenades that were brutally hurled forward. The first detonation easily obliterates that powered assault. A second is knocked off-course, blasting harmlessly. Yet the last two continue on, attempting to blanket Sakura in a pair of vicious assaults.
Rolento then collapses to his knees, almost fainting. Karin barely managed to take him down, but enough was enough. He simply calls out towards Duolon. "Make sure Sakura goes down. Ignore Megumi. The ships are called off. This battle is lost!"
But still, mayhaps, not without a lack of blood. For in the midst of Karin's bodyguard troop, there's another shimmer as El Gado spreads his arms. There is a rather large knife in each hand. "Hello, gentlemen... I've journeyed here in order to take your lives..." Then he strikes out, with the speed of a coiled viper. He is the second in command of the army and Rolento's personal assassin for a reason -- it's just people suck and won't app him. Pinpoint strikes are aimed for vital veins, throats, stomach, attempting to at least cause some severe injuries on Karin's side of the assault.

Grenades? More of them? Well... Sakura knows how to deal with them. That's easy! She'll just jump right out of the way, right?
WRONG. Because as soon as she tries, Rolento's grenades explode -- and their yield is a wee bit more than she'd expected. Gritting her teeth from the pain of both that, and the earlier sniper shot, Sakura... well, to say she's in a world of pain is a gross understatement.
Oh yeah, we mentioned the 'crazy' part too, right? Right. Because as much as that -hurts-, she's still burning with the power of JUSTICE! Her clothing may be charred and, in some places, blown away... she's still in this fight, if for only one more moment. And all of that moment is dedicated towards her friends. "You can take me down now, Rolento, but I'll just keep coming back to kick your ass! Shinkuuuuuu---"
She's crazy! She can't... oh right, we've been over this. Her hands crackle with energy as she leans forward, sending a torrent of energy barreling across the concrete -- not towards Rolento, but right at Duo Lon's backside! "HADOOOOOOUKEN!"

More explosions. Megumi's starting to worry about this, even as Duo heads down to the ground. Well, she's not going to give him a free ride on this. She moves to the roof edge, hands brought together to form a larger red sphere this time, which is flung down at him. Then she leaps off, aiming to go as far ahead as she can to investigate what might have happened. Are Sakura and Karin dead? ...No, apparently not. 'Hadouken!' proves that theory to be untrue.
Well... Karin's bodyguards are good at their job. Which is guarding Karin and occasionally pulling paramilitary stuff out of their collective ass in order to help their mistress survive longer. Taking on experienced assassins at close range, not their forte, especially since their skillset for knives includes 10 ranks of Fall On It So Karin Doesn't. El Gado takes out one lickety split; the second goes in for a punch and gets an arm hug/throat slit for his trouble. But the third manages to draw quick enough to put a handgun bullet right in El Gado's kneecap before he gets stabbed through the heart.
It's Karin who hears all this over the radio pinned behind her ear. And... Sakura just fades out, even with the grenade blasts. She seems like a cold, uncaring industrial bitch... but she might actually give a damn about her people. Rolento, sadly, is gone...
But Duo remains. Stalking over to one the humvees, Karin blithely picks up another rocket launcher and points it at the ninja, eyes narrowed. "You..." And then she fires. "Are *DEAD*."

Duo's eyes widen as that crimson sphere comes in, and as the thing nears, well. He just laughs. He knew there wasn't any way out. "Listen. After this mission is resolved, child, I'm coming for you. You want me to bring my job to my personal life? I will. For /you/. Watch your back." The sphere explodes, and Duo Lon is gone.
Reappearing in front of Sakura, shouting, feet whipping end-over-end as they arc towards the girl before him, a somewhat less effective mimicry of the Hurricane Kick. Granted, the way things've been going, it won't hit. Oh well, them's the breaks, right? Right. Sometimes, Bad Guys just Don't Win.

The Arabian Assassin is indeed rather good at his trade, but he still manages to get clipped in the knee for his efforts. This causes a hiss of pain, but the dirty deed is essentially done. Twirling his crimson-splattered knives, El Gado sheaths them and then glances towards the harshly breathing Sakura. Striding through the ensuing chaos with a noticeable limp, he then manages to pick up Rolento and pull out a grey sphere from his body. Duo Lon is given a somewhat long look, as if another in his brand of trade isn't admiring the end result. But his job is clear. Sniper assistance, extraction. The ball is hurled into the ground, flashing bright enough to dazzle sight before a black smoke billows out entombing both El Gado and Rolento. When it disperses, they are gone. NINJA VANISH.
Hrm. Somehow, miraculously, Sakura is -still awake-. And miraculously, she's still conscious enough to crack a smirk at Duolon. Sure, she's bleeding from the grenades, her clothing's ripped in places, she has a bullet lodged in her upper torso, and... well, is having a below-par day -- but she still shakes her head. "Pfft. Copycat!" And before those kicks can land close, Sakura's already taken flight, arms spread wide in a crane stance.
Or... is it a scorpion stance? Because with Duolon's kicks swinging -underneath- her now, Sakura's in a prime position to unload a snap kick right into the ninja's revolving torso. "HYAA!"
Gritting her teeth, Karin throws the rocket launcher aside (it thankfully lands in the truck's backseat instead of misfiring and killing everyone present) and gives Duo Lon a hard, hard look. Yeah, it's Rolento she's pissed at, but Rolento ain't here. Duo is, and she knows he's a killer. That's good enough for her. Snarling, she leaps at him, swinging her right leg upward at his torso, and then spinning around to swing her left root up at his back, a variation on the traditional Mujin Kyaku double kick. "You're going to kill me in my sleep for daring to fight you. Okay." Megumi's voice is very flat. Does she even care about this threat? Hard to tell. As he goes after Sakura though, Megumi chases after him. She's trying to rush him down, and wrap her arms around his waist before spinning...spinning, then bridging her body backwards and jumping while still twirling, attempting to smash him into the hard ground of the harbor.

This fight was a catastrophe. Disaster. Duo wasn't happy, Rolento wasn't happy, people were shooting dirty looks at him. If it weren't what the fighters around him wanted to see, he'd really, honestly be pissed off in a fashion that kind of showed. Instead, the ninja just ducked beneath Sakura's kick, took Megumi's toss with a roll, and gets double kicked in the back as he stands. But, you know. That's how it goes sometimes. Just an unlucky day. He'd meet them again. He'd make their lives miserable. Especially the pink haired one. Poison that even his masters would wince at.
Yeah. That's the plan.
"Watch yourselves." Bleeding, torn up, and overly hurt, Duo Lon staggers to the back side of the pier, and shakes his head. This was ridiculous. The ninja then falls into the water, apparently. If anybody cared to look, they wouldn't see him, but honestly, that's not too surprising.

"You watch yourself. I have enough enemies as it is," Megumi calls after Duo Lon as he's fleeing, "So I don't mind making good on your threat...back to you." It's not a dramatic retort by any means, said in a very...quietly upset tone. And once he's gone, Megumi looks over at Karin and Sakura. ...Karin seems fine. Sakura does not.
Cue Megumi walking up, hands glowing red, to administer aid to Sakura after that morbid response to her enemy. Despite the victory here, she doesn't seem very elated.
Catastrophe, shmatast.. akp. .. apostrophe! Yeah. Point is, Sakura hasn't, like, been killed or nothin. She lands unsteadily, dropping to one knee, and catching herself with her hands. She's pretty messed up... but Freeman messed her up a lot worse, considering. Seeing that the ninja's gone? Well... icing on the cake. She flicks her gaze up to watch the ninja disappear (?), but afterwards, just passes a friendly smile to Karin, then Megumi. "Thanks, you two..." And also, a smile to Shingo.
Of course, the other forces are probably shooing Rolento's forces away just about now, hm? Let's watch.
Karin does seem fine. On the outside, anyway. On the inside she is a seething cauldron of WAGE. She turns to see if Sakura is at least salvageable and finds Megumi already on it, so instead she goes to find her bodyguards' bodies with a detached air. She's already got the cel phone out, and she's already got the Kanzuki home offices on the line. Go go satellite phone. Is she going to be in trouble for those poor guards dying? Since they followed her of their own free will, and they ARE bodyguards, probably not. Is ROLENTO going to be in trouble for those poor guards dying? You bet your ass he is.
"Kanzuki here. Get me the military development division."
Not too far away an engine roars to life. A deep, loud engine roar. One from a truck. With a 6.0L V8 diesel engine. If there are any soliders left around to hear the noise, since it is coming from in-between one of the many warehouses located along the docks, they're aren't around for long as the vehicle's lights flick on and it erupts from concealment in flares of gunfire from all six gunports. Wait. All six gunports? What kind of vehicle is that? Glad you ask!
Cruising along the docks at a nice pace of around 30-35mph guns firing from all directions is a 'Pitbull' SWAT truck. Essentially a heavily armoured Ford F-550 XL, 4x4 vehicle 21.6 feet long, 7.8 feet wide, 8 feet tall, and weighing in at 16, 400lbs. The six gunports adorning this vehicle are located in each door and between the glass on both rear walls. Armored to level A9 ballistic armament, which deflects 7.62 x 51mm caliber rounds such as those from high-powered rifles like a M193, means that any returning fire from Rolento's men harmlessly rebound off the vehicle as it runs over anything in its path short of a retreating tank or a humvee. Not that it would need with the recon given allowing it to slip by those pesky threats. That and the fact that the driver doesn't seem to care much for not simply driving through warehouse walls with that lovely welded on ballistic grill guard ram-type front bumper.
The truck screeches to a halt at Sakura and Karin's location, cover fire being laid down from any soliders dumb enough to ignore Rolento's orders as the rear doors swing open to reveal Shingo standing there with a grin on his face with one armed police officer making sure that no one else gets shot tonight on their side. "You ladies called for a cab?" Apparently he's been waitihg to say that all night. Though his pleasant nature vanishes in an instant when he spots how badly Sakura's been injured. It's all fun and games till someone's girlfriend gets hurt.
Rolento's shipment, at least for now, has been ransacked. The docks are lost, humvee's and soldiers retreating on foot while the tanks cover, lumbering at a slower pace in reverse with turrets still firing. It seems that yet again, the delicate house of cards Rolento has built is unsteady; Can it lose any more before it, and any reservations to blow up the city, fade? Can a house of cards remain up with ANY gone? These questions and more wait to be answered...
A rocket flies down and blows up Shingo's truck.
