Match of the Millennium

Description: The desks and chairs that are usually positioned in rows in this room have been cleared out and replaced by a large mat, big enough to serve as a fighting spot. There's still signs of the schoolwork that goes on here though, with the blackboard and shelves of books remaining present. Pacific are currently in bottom position on the scoreboard, whereas Justice are leading the way. Can Signi the cyborg cause a surprise upset and knock out new kid on the block Kazuo?

[SIGNI]
Signi hasn't been to Gedo High before. She doesn't really have a reason to come here unless if there's a scheduled fight, it's rather difficult for her to get any serious kind of trouble after all. She wonders if she has the right location, it looks rather rundown. If she didn't know better she would think it's some kind of factory. She makes her way inside a bit surprised on how much cleaner it is. She's not here for a school evaluation though and makes her way to the classroom the fight's supposed to be in. Hopefully, the walls are reinforced, she doesn't want to punch a hole in them or anything.

[KAZUO]
The classroom that's been selected for the match between Signi and the representative from Justice has been reorganized, the desks and chairs all removed. For once, this isn't some random act of vandalism on the part of the Gedo student body; the space has been officially revamped for Rivals - at least, for this particular match - and a large mat has been set out across the floor. Blackboards and bookshelves still remain present, and it's at one of the former that a tall Justice student with white hair stands, sleeves of his dress shirt rolled up, writing on one of the boards with a piece of chalk. Vandalism after all?

It appears not, as the student has simply written 'Have a nice day' on the board in Japanese, Danish and English.

Noticing the sound of Signi's arrival, the student turns around. "Ah, hello, Fye-san! I'm Narukami Kazuo. It's nice to meet you," he says, stepping away from the board and leaving the chalk behind. He dusts his hands together before offering one to Signi.

There's a fairly small audience, given the fact that the classroom is mainly given over to the match space - mostly just NFG tech team members.

[SIGNI]
Signi takes the offered hand and shakes it. "Hello...nice to meet you too." She says a bit shyly. She wasn't expecting such a warm welcome from her opponent. Then again she hasn't met him before. She's not sure what she's up against here but she takes a defensive stance as she releases his hand and backs a way bit. She takes a deep breath as she tries to calm herself down before the fight starts.

[KAZUO]
The white-haired Japanese youth offers a smile as the hand is accepted. "That's some impressive technology," he commends the other student as he takes a step back and adopts a relaxed karate stance. "And you must be pretty impressive to be able to handle it. You're the daughter of a CEO, too, aren't you? So in a way, this is Fye Corporation versus the Narukami Group. My dad sees it that way, anyway."

Despite the reference to corporate rivalry, there's no animosity evident in Kazuo's expression. "I'll clearly have to bring my A game! Good luck, though!"

The start of the match is signalled by, of all things, the school bell ringing.

"Guess that means class is in session!" Kazuo announces before leaping forward, spinning around before aiming the sole of his shoe at Signi in a classic flying karate kick.

"Yes, I am. Thank you." Signi's short and to the point as usual. She watches as he descends towards and does her best to defend against it. He does manage to make her stagger a bit. Given their in close quarters, she decides to take advantage of the situation, slamming her oversized hand and feet against the mats on the floor. A small shockwave is formed and begins to extend outwards.

Kazuo has just managed to land upright after the aerial attack when Signi's shockwave brings peril to his footing, causing the tilework to tremble and tumble toward him. He remains steady, anchoring himself and crouching to shield his legs from the spray of ceramic.

"It's a good thing that the company's set to pay for this, I guess," he remarks of the property damage already incurred. "You're definitely strong. Do you train a lot as well, or is it more about upgrades?" he wonders aloud, even as he's shifting his stance to load and unload a fierce right-handed punch aimed at Signi's core. While it's reasonably forceful from a physical perspective, it's accompanied by a luminescent lance of spiritual energy -- one that would cause, rather than any physical wound or pain, a feeling of numbness and weakening warmth of the soul, should it strike true.

"Both, I have to make frequent adjustments." Signi tries to step out of the way, but it's difficult to dodge in such close quarters. She can hear a cracking sound both on a physical and spiritual level. She leans over and winces clearly in pain, "Auxiliary systems activated." She says in a monotone. While bent over she does a powerful charging uppercut with the intent of knocking him away her.

The reaction from Signi to his strike causes Kazuo to hesitate for a moment, eyes going wide as he pivots back to neutral stance. "Auxiliary...? Are you okay?"

Her posture catches him off-guard as she charges him, and he lowers his hands to catch her only to realise that she's swinging for the fences. His hand shifts to deflect the uppercut, but it still clips him under the arm, causing him to stagger and grimace in pain as the arm in question goes momentarily dead.

"Wow - even stronger than I thought," he gasps, before smiling through the pain. "You really are blessed."

He makes a grab for her clothing, intending to spin and throw her to the ground. If he succeeds, he'll raise a foot and then stomp it down on her midsection. While it might seem like sudden brutality, the same light that pierced her before would erupt from beneath her when his foot impacts, again mitigating the pain but sapping the ability to fight.

Signi took the last blow rather hard and is still breathing a bit deeply. "It's better than being bedbound." She might not think that's she's so blessed if he knew the whole story. I mean being a cyborg is certainly better than the alternative but there are times she wishes she was normal. He manages to get her on the ground but she manages to avoid take the full force of the stomp. Even if she is durable his style is kind of brutual.

Still, she won't give up so easily as she makes a victory gesture with one of her hands. Suddenly her fist launches out at him like a rocket as she tries to punch him.

Kazuo frowns a little at Signi's comment, despite its slightly optimistic nature. When she launches her fist toward him, his eyes go wide again before shutting tight as he brings his arms out to either side. A white flash of energy flares in front of him, causing the fist to reverse its course back toward its owner! Kazuo's eyes open again, then turn momentarily upward as he mutters gratefully before returning his attention to his opponent and falling back into his fighting stance.

[SIGNI]
Signi gets smacked by her own fist, how embarassing as she takes a moment to reconnect her fist to her arm. Her legs are free to attack as she kicks with her oversized legs at him. It's nothing fancy but she knows she needs to hit him before he'll go down.

As Signi kicks out at Kazuo, he pivots, presenting his outer leg instead of his vitals as a target as he swings a kick of his own, his foot blazing with brilliant light - a light that seems more powerful than before somehow. The same light seems to surge from his eyes and mouth as he cries out - but the cry is cut short into a sound of pain as the mechanical leg collides with his own hard enough to disrupt his attempt entirely. The light retreats from his eyes, mouth and leg as he stumbles backward, clutching at his bruising thigh.

"N-nice kick," he stammers, seemingly disoriented.

[SIGNI]
Signi's not giving up so easily, and now she's free attack with her hands once again. Since Kazuo's open she now punches at him to try and wear him down further. She doesn't want to give him a chance to recover.

Kazuo grimaces as Signi comes in swinging for him again. A look of concentration, pain - and possibly anger? - crosses his face as he takes the full brunt of the metal fist to his chest, his fists balling at his sides as energy begins to gather in them, a bright gleam emanating from within his white shirt now stained with blood. Before Signi's fist has even retracted, he suddenly explodes into a flurry of alternating punches. The energy radiating from his fists has shifted somehow, a real heat like the sun's rays instead of the merciful ethereal warmth from before. Should he not be stopped, he'll finish the combination with a palm strike releasing a blast of the same scorching energy.

Signi lets out a muffled scream of pain as she can feel both flesh and metal being melted. She's still on her feet after that, but barely at this point. She reaches and tries to wrap her arms around him. This isn't a hug as her feet ignite and she flies up the classroom ceiling. Once there the rockets on her feet go out and they both fall to the mat below if she managed to grab Kazuo.

Kazuo lets out a breath as the energy subsides, his expression sinking slightly, almost becoming apologetic. He resists as Signi tries to embrace him, and though he's caught up in her grasp, he manages to writhe free before she can slam him back down, rolling away from the imminent impact and onto one knee.

"Not much more I can do," he murmurs, panting heavily and covered in bruises from the mighty cyborg. "But... maybe with some help..."

He closes his eyes and forms a fist as a light starts to radiate from a point above him, building rapidly intensity. Then, it unleashes in a beam of white energy, that same subjugating yet almost harmless force that he's unleashed earlier in the match - directed with full intensity toward Signi!

Signi gets hit by the beam at full force and is taken down by the blast. She's not getting back up easily after that as she falls to the mat. "Emergency energy discharge protocols triggered." Of course all that energy she absorbs has to go somewhere as she discharges a makeshift security barrier at Kazuo to release some of it before she overloads.

COMBATSYS: Signi has suffered catastrophic damage and fallen offline.

After unleashing the celestial-seeming beam upon his opponent, Kazuo pushes himself back up to both feet, slowly approaching as she falls, his guard rising and falling.

"Hey, are you al-"

'Emergency energy discharge protocols triggered.'

Kazuo's eyes widen at the implication, and he quickly turns to throw himself bodily to one side of the room, barely managing to get out of the path of the wall of energy bearing down on him.

Once the energy clears and the dust starts to settle again, he picks himself up once more, walking over toward where Signi is lying. "Hey, are you alright?" he asks, leaning down to lend a hand to the cybernetically-enhanced girl.

COMBATSYS: Kazuo takes no action.
