NFG Rivals Season One - Round 4 - Pacific vs Taiyo: Signi vs Keiko

Description: Signi and Keiko have been banished to the bunker-like basement of Justice for their bout. If they get bored of their usual moves, there'll be no shortage of supplies to use as improvised weapons. Let's just hope they can keep things clean!



[SIGNI]
It looks like it's been arranged for Signi to fight Keiko again. She could use a win, but she knows not to get overconfident after the first time they fight. The kickboxer was more familiar with her again now too. Signi's a bit confused as she opens the doors where they're supposed to fight. It looks pretty well protected. Were they afraid of her breaking something or was there a mistake?

Maybe she should go find someone to clarify what was going on. Just then one of the Fye Corporations reps approach her as she enters, "You're late, is everything okay?" He looks at her from head to toe and waits for her to respond.

"I'm fine..." It looks like she has the right location. Did no one want to see her fight because she kept losing? She's starting to have a few doubts about all of this now.

[KEIKO]
Do you believe in deja vu?

Do you believe in revisiting old acquaintance when they should be forgot?

Well, whatever you believe, this is what's true: Keiko is having a rematch with Signi. And while the blue-haired kickboxer hasn't had much luck in the tournament so far, there's not a single sign of despair on her face.

She knows that losing is part of the life of a fighter, that even the best of the best have lost a few in their lifetimes, and that as long as she's still going, she can still improve herself and get better.

Keiko arrives not long after Signi does, and she smiles as she sees a familiar face. "Well, long time no see! I remember our first fight together, and it was quite interesting. I can't wait to see what you bring to this fight!"

Signi lifts her mask up a moment so Keiko can see her smiling before pulling it back down. "Let's meet outside of battle sometime." She's starting to feel a bit more comfortable around Keiko. A part of her doesn't want to beat her up again, but she really could use the win. Maybe she could make it up to her later.

For now she better focus on the fight before she starts losing focus on it. Hopefully she wouldn't try to short circuit or something after their last battle. She runs at Keiko and tries to get a kick in before she can react. She's fight a kickboxer, maybe she should try fighting fire with fire? Or ice in this case.

Sometimes, it pays to fight back, and sometimes it pays to take a defensive position. And sometimes, you just can't win at all. Which is what happens when Keiko finds herself getting kicked in the stomach and stumbling backwards. She gasps for a moment before getting back into her fighting stance and shaking her head.

"Sounds like a good idea, but for now, let's focus on the fight, shall we?" Keiko says as she taps her fists together a couple of times before attempting to demonstrate the 'boxing' part of kickboxing, going in with a swift hook.

Signi figures that Keiko's not going to go all out right off the bat. And she's correct as the kickboxer punches her. She takes a bit of damage and is dazed a bit by the blow. She nods in agrement with Keiko's comment. She has to keep things professional and be an emotionless robot for now.

While they're still both close, she slams her fists and feet into the ground creating a shockwave. Good thing they're durable considering what the floor is made out of.

[OOC] Keiko says, "Damn."

Keiko decides to try taking the initiative here and delivering a counter-attack, consisting of a spinning backfist followed by a hook. Unfortunately, taking the initiative is not always the best idea.

Keiko goes down to the ground, leaving her there for a moment before she gets back. "Oof... that... wasn't supposed to happen." She shakes her head.

[SIGNI]
Okay, now she feels a bit bad for Keiko. It would probably be bad taste to attack her while she's down, this is supposed to be a friendly fight not a fight to the death. Signi uses the opening to recharge her systems a bit, after all it would probably be a good idea to pace herself.

Signi's feeling bad for Keiko?

In a fight, it's not good to show sympathy to your opponent or you might lose the match. That's a lesson Keiko intends to teach Signi by throwing a hook which shoots forth a blue blast of chi, aimed right at Signi. Will Signi recover in time?

Signi takes the blast rather hard of cold energy rather hard. That's certainly an overload as shivers a bit. She staggers back a bit and bends over a bit as she does so. Is that part of her plan? Her leg rockets ignite as she launches herself full force at Keiko.

Keiko thinks she's got this made. She can avoid it with the greatest of ease...

Key word being 'thinks.'

She's hit hard and sent flying across the basement and tumbles a few times before hitting the ground with a thud. Still, she's not giving up just yet. Despite being in a bit of pain, Keiko gets herself back on her feet. She then looks at Signi and nods a little, a slight smile on her face.

"You've still got what it takes! I'm impressed!" And then, Keiko launches herself at her opponent, one of her legs outstretched in a hard looking kick aimed right at Signi.

Signi's glad to see Keiko's able to get back up under her own power. Of course she might have went a bit too easy her before. She figures Keiko's quite a bit more agile then her and doesn't get out of the way. Even if she does get hit she figures it's best to keep pressure on her so she can't easily dodge. She mockingly staggers over again she takes the kick once again. The cyborg winds up before releasing a powerful uppercut with both her arms.

Nice try, but not this time!

A double-armed uppercut looks painful, but that only works if it connects! And Keiko manages to step back just in time to avoid being caught by the attack from Signi.

Keiko doesn't say anything this time, instead she just attempts to deliver a swift roundhouse kick.

Signi gasps a bit as her uppercut misses. She can't afford to let Keiko hit her again after that and puts some effort forward to actually avoid the the attack this time. Maybe she should go for something a little less telegraphed this time. Her leg rockets ignite once again, but the time she takes to the air. Once she's hovering above the kickboxer she delivers a series of kick downwards.

Keiko tries to defend herself, but it's just no use. The kicks strike her hard and send her stumbling into a nearby wall. She collapses into a semi-seated position, but she still manages to get back up.

"All right, time to bring out the big guns!" Keiko says as she focuses on her fists and attempts to stun Signi with a punch to the stomach. IF it works (and there's a chance it might not work since she's a cyborg,) Keiko will follow up with a flurry of jabs (pun not intended!) and then finish it up with a chi infused punch that can send someone flying!

Signi's overwhelmed by the series of blows and there's repeated denting sounds as Keiko punches her. It doesn't quite send her flying, but it's painful as she winces. "Auxillary systems engaged." It's clear her attacks are having an effect even if she's not falling over yet. She merely punches at the other teenager with all her might, nothing flashy.

COMBATSYS: Keiko fails to interrupt Fierce Punch from Signi with Snowball Punch.

Keiko tries to go in with an ice-infused punch to knock Signi away, but it's no use...

Keiko is hit and sent stumbling backwards before dropping to one knee, and then the other.

She gives a weak thumbs up before collapsing onto her face. She may have been defeated again, but she never gives up.

[SIGNI]
Signi gasps a bit as Keiko goes down. "Are you alright?" She knows she shouldn't hold back, but there is such a thing as overkill. She runs over to the girl and offers a hand up. Now that the fight's over she can actually be concerned about her well-being. She's not an emotionless machine, even if her mask might make her sound like one at times.

[OOC] Keiko says, "I'm going to end it here, okay?"
