Match of the Millennium

Description: Both these fighters are without a win so far. Will one of them manage to break that streak or will it end in a draw? Ayaki may be a rock fan and a swordsman but since Signi is a robot, she's always gonna win the battle to be more metal.

Another fight in a gym? Signi hopes it goes smoother than the last one. At least her opponent doesn't have a home field advantage this time. She could have in theory gone to Seijyum, her family's certainly rich enough

She enters quietly as she can, though her there's a decent amount of clanking. She simply nods and waits for her opponent to arrive. She doesn't really know anyone here and feels a bit uncomfortable at the moment.

[AYAKI]
Seijyan High isn't somewhere that Ayaki is familiar with either. Not because of how fancy it is, he certainly experienced enough of that in his time at Justice. It's just that he's not had any call to come here before. He has to admit it's an impressive building though. He passed a pretty flower garden and a magnificent theatre whilst searching for the venue for his match and now he finds himself in a huge gymnasium that's three stories high and has an expensive looking polished wood floor. The scent of the treatment wax that's used to clean it lingers in the air.

There's a sizeable crowd gathered to watch his match against Signi the robot girl. Whilst the majority of these are Seijyan students in their impeccable uniforms, there are a few faces from Pacific and others he recognises from his own school, Gedo. These stand out in the crowd, partly because they are mostly male and also due to their informal and casual clothing.

Ayaki himself has dressed in his usual all black attire. Today he favours a simple thin black t-shirt and black cargo pants with black hi-tops on his feet. With his spiked hair also been black, it's quite a solemn look. If anyone here has witnessed his fighting style so far in the competition however, they'll know that's a lot more colourful.

He approaches Signi with a slight smile on his face and asks in hushed tones. "So are you really a robot then or is that just a rumour?"

"I'm a cyborg, yes." Part of Signi is still organic though her arms and legs are clearly robotic. Once she gets a better look at the crowd she notices a few familar faces. The usual reps from Fye Corp are here too. They've sent all females this time but they're still clearly older than the student body.

She knows her opponent is a swordsman, she's not quite sure how she'll try to emulate him. She supposes she'll just study him for now. One of her hands charges a bit before she shoots a heart shaped projectile at Ayaki.

"A cyborg. My apologies." Ayaki nods. "That's so cool. I've never fought a cyborg before. He's never fought a robot either for that matter."

As Signi gets things started, Ayaki is surprised to see what looks like a heart heading his way! "I didn't know you cared." He jokes jovially, making sure to bring up his left hand, that now holds a blue oni blade to aid him in blocking the projectile. It mostly works though it ends up bouncing off the weapon to strike his shoulder.

Keeping hold of the sword, Ayaki steps forwards towards Signi, before appearing to vanish! When he reappears he's behind her, holding the blue blade in an outstretched stance.

A chilling wind starts to blow around him, and if Ayaki is able to connect with his weapon, it's only then that Signi will realise she's been cut. The only sign of the attack's path afterwards is a shimmering blue afterimage, reminiscent of a ghost.

"I don't think most people have." Signi points out as he suddenly vanishes. She does her best to scan to find him and notices a sudden drop in temperature. She tries to turn around but it's too late as metal meets metal. It leaves a sizable scratch in her side. She winces in pain.

She notice he's quite mobile. She figures she should do something about that before he starts running circles around her. She attempts to wrap her arms around him in a crushing embrace.

So cyborgs can feel pain then. That's good to know. Ayaki adds it to his mental notes.

They can also cause pain and a considerable amount, as the Gedo schoolboy soon find out!

When Signi comes in for a cuddle, Ayaki at first continues the teasing. "First a heart and now a hug? This is getting very cosy."

He can't continue the banter for long though, as she starts squeezing the breath out of him. He coughs, he splutters, he fears for his poor ribs!

Somehow, after struggling for a few seconds, Ayaki manages to break free in a flash of red and blue light.

The blue sword in his left hand has now been joined by a red one in his right and he swings both blades in a swift X-shaped motion.

The movement causes the air to appear to split apart, leaving behind faint, glowing afterimages of a snarling red oni and a smirking blue oni.

If he can hit Signi, the strikes will land almost simultaneously, delivering a precise yet brutal twin-cut that threatens to disorient the her with a lingering pulse of psychic force.

Given the fact they're rather close together, dodging isn't really an option. She tries to shield herself from the attack instead. She's only partly successful as she stumbles a bit. She does manage to get out a punch at him with her oversized hands as she moves back a bit.

Ayaki's psychic blades manage to land, causing the cyborg to stumble. She's not rattled enough that she can't retaliate though, striking back with a punch from those impressive hands of hers!

Bringing up his blue blade again, the black-haired boy fends off most of the blow, though the force of it causes his whole left arm to vibrate with the impact.

"That one wasn't as friendly." He grins, before getting into position to attack back!

Opting for speed over strength Ayaki lashes out rapidly with his crimson red blade.

"Sorry..." Signi's trying to win here she can't afford to be too friendly. She's not without mercy but she wants to win here. She defends against the blade leading to more slash marks. Her fighting style on the other hand is clearly strength over speed.

Still, she knows more agile opponents can give her a problem. That's why she can't get let them get too many hits in. He's not the only who can fight using both hands. She promptly bends before uppercutting at him with both arms at once.

"No need for apologies." Ayaki assures Signi. "Both of us should do our very best to win this. For our selves and our schools."

The Gedo guy notes the slashes on Signi but he doesn't let his gaze linger there too long. He knows another attack will soon be coming his way, and sure enough, a double uppercut worthy of any boxer comes flying towards his face.

Ayaki doesn't fancy being hit with that at all. Throwing himself backwards, he does an athletic flip before landing on his feet out of harm's way. Once he's confident of his balance, both blades are brought up and then cross over each other. From here, Ayaki swings them in a wide sweeping arc.

First comes the blue, which sends a razor-thin wave of crackling blue energy outward, silent and deadly. Then, the red blade follows immediately after, its arc exploding forward like a thunderclap. The clash of these opposing forces generates a deafening shockwave of psychic blue lightning and red fire. It's a move that Ayaki has performed previously in matches and practiced before that, but this time he doesn't just hear the sound he feels it too. The force causes his body to vibrate and threatens to blast away Signi like the roar of an awakened oni god if it should happen to hit her.

Signi's a bit surprised as he backflips out of the way. She tries to brace herself but gets knocked back, her coat is ripped open leaving her chest exposed. There's a mixture of metal and wires exposed. She twitches a bit as she slowly walks forward, "Auxiliary systems online..." She's still standing but clearly not in the best shape right now.

She raises her left hand and does a V gesture. That's a bit odd considering the state she's in right now right? A second later her hand deattaches and goes flying at Ayaki.

Ayaki can't help but stare as the metals and wires inside Signi are exposed following his assault. "Will someone have to fix you?" He wonders. "Do you have mechanics rather than medics?"

Apparently she's not feeling too downhearted about being blasted backwards since she's flashing a victory sign in his direction. He's pondering her confident gesture when the very hand flashing it detaches from her arm and heads his way!

He instinctively brings up his blue blade, which smacks the hand away from him. The after effects of the contact leave his arm aching though and he has to pause briefly to stretch it out, keeping his eyes on Signi the whole time.

Should she happen to be looking back his way, she will see that his right eye has started to glow red and his left one blue. An aura of blue psychic frost begins to engulf his left side, whilst an aura of red psychic fire engulfs his right.

Both Ayaki's blades expand and he lunges forwards with slash after slash before seeking to stab both into his Signi's exposed core simultaneously.

Should this be successful, Signi will feel the paralyzing cold of the blue oni Ao while burning from within with the red oni Aka. Taking hold of his weapons, Ayaki aims to kick Signi away before leaping up into the air.

As he moves, he holds both blades aloft, whilst his aura forms into a pair of psychic purple wings and his weapons merge into a single colossal purple blade. He descends down on the cyborg, with the intention of plunging the gestalt psychic zweihander into her.

The sword goes into her further exposing more metal beneath her synthetic flesh. She lets out a scream of pain. Sparks go flying out of her body..."Shut down immediate...maintence needed..." Well, that should answer one of Ayaki's questions at least. She stumbles around and her eyes narrow.

She reaches out and attempts to grab him one more time. If successful, her legs rockets power into the air almost reaching the ceiling. She'll then plummet to the floor below.

Oh dear! Has Ayaki broken the cyborg? Obviously not beyond repair since she is calling for maintenance. No, it will all be fine. The mechanics will fix her up and she'll be sorted for the next round.

His realisation brings him relief but only temporarily, since Signi is reaching out for one last grab! He leaps out of her way just in time, managing to escape joining his opponent on the floor.

Once the Gedo guy catches his breath he's able to step back from the scene in the gymnasium and enjoy his first victory in the Rivals contest. It's an amazing feeling and he's fully enjoying his moment, posing for photographs from the crowd and Rivals resident reporter Ran. It's only afterwards that he realises he's still showing off his psionic purple wings.

[SIGNI]
"I missed. Good fight..." The female reps rush down from the stand and already have a cart ready for the cyborg. She gives a thumbs up before looking down at the floor. She's happy for him but a bit disappointed she lost again.
%"Take it easy, Signi you had a rough battle." One of the reps put a hand on her shoulder as she loads the cyborg on to the cart.
