Match of the Millennium

Description: With their time in the NFG concluded, these first-season fighters are taking a well-needed vacation! It's dancing and cocktails at the Seaside Serenade - that is, capoeira and chemistry! Will Sarah's dance moves be too much for Nixie to keep up with, or will Nixie's concoctions have Sarah turning in early?

[SARAH]
It's been a while since the young, spunky disk jockey known as Sarah Ashley Kuzumi, or DJ Supernova to those on the club scene, was involved in a huge event in the NFG. It's one that she won't forget for a while, and one that she won't be talking about any time soon either! All Sarah wants is to kick back, relax, and enjoy some free time to herself.

Fortunately, Sarah's earned a lot of money thanks to her taking part in the NFG leagues, as well as through other means as well. Meaning that she's finally gotten a chance to take a well-deserved trip to Spain so she can unwind. So far, she's been having a good time it seems, and she's even gotten a chance to test her knowledge of the Spanish language. Good thing she's studying in spare time!

Right now, the blonde-haired disk jockey is relaxing at the Seaside Serenade. Or rather, that's what one would think she'd be doing if she were at a place like this. In reality, she's here to take part in a different event: The Saturday Night Fight series! At least she knows that she won't be encountering anything like she encountered in NFG. Hopefully.

Out on the beachside area, a fighting area is set up for Sarah and her opponent, and right now, the disk jockey is already there warming up for her fight. Stretching and jumping around, Sarah does her best to loosen up and get her blood pumping for the fight. There's even chants of 'Supernova!' from the gathered crowd. (Trivia: Supernova is the same in both English and Spanish!)

All the while, that typical smile remains on her face as she waits for her opponent.

[NIXIE]
Nixie on the other hand has been trying to keep a low profile and still doing research. Well, at least as a low profile as Myriad will let her. She's been more focused on learning French then learning Spanish. She heard a rumor that the witch that hexed her might be in Spain though and it's not like she has much else to go off of. She's wealthy than she was before NFG but a certain mermaid has been taking a cut of her earnings.

At least it's night at the beach so she doesn't have to deal with the sunlight. Funny it is someone's it's someone that Sarah did fight during NFG. "Well, at least we have more room to fight this time." She recognizes Sarah hoping that she wouldn't have to listen loud music while they battle.

[SARAH]
Upon recognizing her opponent, Sarah turns and gives a tip of her cap while smiling at her. "Well, well, long time no see!" She says cheerfully. "I was wondering what you've been up to!" Sarah giggles a little. "For better or worse, no loud music here tonight. It's preferable to use the natural ambiance of the beach, and besides, we don't want to wake the neighbors!"

Taking off her cap briefly, Sarah twirls it on her finger briefly before tossing it up and putting it back on her head. "Bigger is always better," Sarah replies with a grin in regards to the larger fighting area. "Still, big or small, every fight is always a new challenge!" With that, Sarah gets into the ginga, moving from side to side as she awaits the start of the fight.

Nixie breathes a sigh of relief before groaning at Sarah's other comment. "Pretty much the usual, getting dragged into odd jobs and research. Are you ever in a bad mood?" She can't understand how anyone can be so perky. She tries to recall the last time they fought. It involved a lot of punching and kicking. Which is something she can do, but it's not her strongest suit.

Instead she tries to slip behind the DJ, trying to use her smaller size to get a surprise attack off on her. She pulls out her metal straw and promptly stabs at her from behind. Of course the fact she's constantly moving making it harder than it sounds.

"Am I ever in a bad mood? Of course, everyone has bad days!" Sarah replies. "It happens to the best of us." She shrugs a little as she maintains the ginga, remembering how Nixie was quite the unique fighter the last time they met. Sarah's maintaining a steady eye on Nixie and watching her carefully as she moves in the ginga.

Part of the ginga does involve constantly moving, which does make it harder to strike her, but part of it is also due to the history of Capoeira being a form of dance. Regardless, the ginga makes it hard to strike the blonde-haired girl, and even then, just as the attack from Nixie comes at Sarah, she turns and deflects it away.

A slight scratch is seen on Sarah's forearm as she reacts to the defensive maneuver. "Ooh, that might leave a small mark." She shakes her head before facing Nixie. "Good try, I'll give you that." Sarah then drops down and delivers what looks like a breakdancing move, but in actuality it's a type of sweeping kick, done in a Capoeira-style.

Nixie tries to block the kick but stumbles a bit as it makes contact. All the dancing is making it difficult to gauge with Sarah's going to do. She takes advantage of the larger area to gain some distance between the two of them. The goblin then digs into her pockets before pulling something out.

It should be familar sight but it worked once before. Plus she probably didn't prepare to fight Nixie again right? She chucks the sticky explosive as hard as she can directly at Sarah.

No, Sarah definitely wasn't planning to fight Nixie again. Nor did she expect what was coming next. At first, Sarah's eyes go wide when she sees the strange object, wondering what it is. The girl's first instinct is to evade, but her left foot doesn't move quite as fast as her right one does, meaning that she comes _THIS_ close to avoiding that glue grenade.

"Ay!" Sarah cries out as she finds herself covered in glue, having quite a difficult time moving. She can't even get into the ginga because of how stuck she is! "Well, talk about being in a sticky situation!" She comments, trying to maintain a light mood in spite of everything. "Guess I'll just have to make do!"

Sarah faces Nixie and throws forth a projectile that loosely resembles a butterfly. Only this one is a lot bigger than your typical butterfly, and it's aimed right at Nixie!

Nixie was going to take advantage of Sarah being pinned down to try and get in close. That gives her less time to dodge as she gets smacked by the butterfly. She cringes in pain a bit. That was a bit embarassing but she's already near her again, so there's no point in running away now.

Instead she grabs her metal straw once again. She decides to go for the more direct approach and use it to try and Sarah in the leg. After all it would be easier for her if the DJ couldn't move around so freely.

Sarah finally manages to get free of the glue, and it's a good thing too, because Nixie does not look pleased. She looks intent on attempting to strike her with that metal straw, something that Sarah does not intend to let happen. And that doesn't happen because Sarah has a different idea planned.

"Sorry, I can't stick around," Sarah quips with a giggle at her bad pun, twisting to the side and avoiding getting hit in the leg. "Also, I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't try to hit my legs. I have two of them, but I need them both to dance and walk with!" She then spins around and attempts to return to facing forward with a swift Capoeira-style strike with her hand.

"Well, they're the easiest thing for me to reach!" Nixie doesn't have the longest arms after all. Besides they're both pretty nimble, she has to gain an upper hand somehow. Fine, if she doesn't want to stab in the legs, she'll go for something more vital then. She stabs with the straw once again. This time however it's direct for Sarah's chest.

Sarah was just joking around when she mentioned avoiding her legs. Unfortunately, it seems Nixie took her a little bit too seriously. How unfortunate for Sarah, right?

Not to mention, now she's aiming for her _chest?_ How indecent!

Not one to risk having any unnecessary exposure from an attack, Sarah instinctively blocks instead of avoiding, wanting to not risk having a wardrobe malfunction of any kind. It hurts, but it's a lot better than what could've been. This time, Sarah doesn't say anything, instead she just attempts a backflip with a pair of rising kicks as she goes up and around.

Nixie tends to take things rather seriously, especially when fighting. She's had more than one Darkstalker hunter come after her. She tries to guard against the kicks but there's a bit too much force behind them for her to do so. She's knocked back a bit but manages to catch herself a bit before she falls over.

She produces a flask and quickly downs half of it. Suddenly she's moving around faster as she tosses the remaining contents at Sarah. Apprently it's not safe for non-goblins to be exposed to.

What to do? Where to go?

Sarah is trying to figure that out when she finds herself having a flask of who-knows-what tossed at her. Unfortunately, she can't figure out the best course of action in time, and the flask smashes into her. The liquid burns quite a bit, and Sarah is forced to try to shake it off, even rolling around on the ground. Eventually she comes up and shakes her head. "I'm gonna have to do some laundry when I get back to my hotel room!"

Once she recovers from that unexpected splash of whatever it's supposed to be, Sarah does a diving roll onto the ground and rolls towards Nixie, before attempting to pop up and catch her off-guard with a swift uppercut.

Yeah, the laundry's probably the least of Sarah's worries at this point. The speed rush that the drink has given her make it easy for her to duck underneath the uppercut. "You might want to wash that off when you have a chance." Given that Sarah isn't being actively malicous towards Nixie she decides to warn her about the substance.

There's still a fight going on though, and Nixie pulls out another bomb. This one is more standard so she wouldn't have to worry about getting sticky again. She's going to have worry about a decent sized explosion though as the goblin lobs it towards her.

Imagine that, Nixie actually warning Sarah about that substance. "I intend to, trust me!" She remarks as she watches Nixie carefully, not wanting to take any chances right now. After what she just had to endure, she knows Nixie is truly unpredictable.

And now a bomb is coming at her? A real bomb?

Could it be that Sarah's going to be blown away for real?

Not this time!

She manages to deflect the bomb out of harm's way almost instantaneously, sending the bomb to explode way out of her reach without breaking the slightest hint of a sweat.

"I admire your effort," Sarah comments as she advances on Nixie. "But I'm afraid you'll have to do better than that!" With that, Sarah drops to the ground and spins around with her legs outstretched as she uses her palm to keep herself raised sideways.

"Dammit!" She wasn't expecting her to kick the bomb away. Of course Nixie's has bigger problems as she gets kicked again. This time the force is enough to knock her over. It takes a moment for her to recover before she lunges at Sarah. She strikes at her with the straw several times just hoping to make contact with her.

"Now now, no losing your head there," Sarah says with a slight smile on her face. "You don't want to lose that in the heat of battle!" And that's a point Sarah emphasizes as she effortlessly deflects Nixie's attack almost like it's nothing. "Do you see what I mean? If you don't remain focused, you're likely to mess up!"

With that, Sarah attempts to grab Nixie and toss her to the ground with a simple Capoeira-style throw.

Yeah, Nixie's not getting out of that one. She struggles with Sarah but she finds herself getting easily overpowered by her. "Put me down! Put me down!" She gets her request as she's slammed into the ground. Of course the rather sudden impact has created a new problem as several of the bombs she was carrying are detonated. She dives for covered, but would the DJ be lucky enough to get out of the way in time?

More explosives? More like dodging practice for Sarah!

Somehow, she manages to avoid them without much trouble. It seems that Sarah's got speed on her side. She watches Nixie as she gets back up, waiting to see what she'll do next.

Upon seeing that Nixie isn't doing anything, Sarah decides that it's time to finish things off once and for all. "And now the grand finale!" Sarah says as she does a cartwheel towards Nixie. Her intention is to use her bare feet, as they come down, to stun Nixie long enough to launch into a faster version of her spin kick from before, before finishing with a chi-infused uppercut.

Of course Nixie's still taking cover from the explosives, making her rather difficult to hit. She takes advantage of this to catch a bit of a breather. While on the ground, shes ecretly starts drawing in the sand.

A magic sigil appears underneath Sarah's feet. She might have to worry about her legs after all if she doesn't step out of the way of the wooden spikes that suddenly rise out of the ground.

Wooden spikes coming out of the ground? That's bad enough for any fighter, but considering Sarah's in her bare feet, that would hurt even more! Yet, somehow, Sarah manages to move away before the sigil even appears, leaving one wondering if she's a psychic or something?

"Whoa, I almost became a swiss cheese there!" Sarah comments as she gets into the ginga, then does a forwards somersault and brings both hands down as she comes forwards.

Is there something with Nixie's magic? It seems like she's having trouble hitting Sarah. Maybe the extra space was making it easier for her to move around. Or she was just rusty. Still, she has one more trick up her sleeve as she goes down towards the sand.

Another sigil appears underneath the DJ, but this one is different from the last one. Instead of moving, she's going to want to stay still if she wants to avoid this time. If she makes the wrong step she might trigger a bomb beneath her feet.

Not this time!

Sarah manages to avoid the incoming last-ditch attack!

She simply somersaults out of the way and lands on both feet again. She watches Nixie for a moment before seeing the official check on her and declare her knocked out.

"Good fight," Sarah says with a thumbs up and a tip of her cap. "You'll do better next time!" With that, Sarah heads off to tend to her injuries... and wash her clothes too!
