Match of the Millennium

Description: The quiet cyborg Signi and the frosty kickboxer Keiko share their fighting styles with each other and kick off Fightfest!

It's hard to believe that, at one time, Keiko Takane was a girl with little self-esteem and was known to cry anytime something went wrong. It's hard to believe she would've never wanted to see herself in a place like this. But that was then, and this is now.

The blue-haired fighter makes her way into the arena to a resounding applause, and she smiles and waves to everyone. She then makes her way to the actual fighting ring, not one to waste time with greeting the audience.

Upon arriving in the ring, Keiko does some punches and kicks to warm herself up while bouncing in her stance a few times. On the outside, she's got a soft smile on her face, and on the inside, she's telling herself to give it her all.

[SIGNI]
Signi isn't exactly the most social person herself, but that wasn't exactly by choice before. At least she has some freedom now as she reaches the mall exterior. She's followed by a few people in black suits, they wouldn't be interving in the fight but they were clearing monitoring the masked girl. She simple nods to them and places a hand to wave to the crowd. Any emotion on her face is concealed so it doesn't really matter how she reacts to the situation.

. She sizes up her opponent and does her best to emulate her opponent. Her oversized hands and feet make it look kind of strange as she does so. Signi tried to gather as much information on her opponent before the fight. She would likely sympthize with her opponent if she had been able to learn more about her past.

Now this is an interesting sight. That girl wearing a mask and... wow, what big hands she has! It might be intimidating to some fighters, but Keiko is not the least bit intimidated by this. She does raise an eyebrow at it though, but after that, she seems to get back into the whole fighting thing. She ignores the fact that Signi is trying to emulate her.

"Well, I wasn't expecting an opponent like this," Keiko says as she does a few final air punches and kicks. "I can say I'm really going to get a good test out of this!" She closes her eyes for a moment and looks downward, focusing on her heart and the courage it provides her, before opening her eyes again and getting into her fighting stance. She then waits for the signal to begin.

Of course to gather more data on her opponent, Signi would have to actually see her fight in person. Copying her movements would only accomplish so much after all. She has a feeling that her opponent might be more nimble than herself but that wouldn't be difficult. She nods in agreement with Keiko's statement, "I'm curious how you fight too." She manages to get out rather breathily and gives her a thumbs up.

This would be her first real test, there was only so much that could be done in virtual simulation after all. Knowing that her opponent is a kickboxer she figures that might be a good place to start. She jumps up a bit flames start to shoot from Signi's boots as she hovers in mid-arms. She does a series of kicks aimed downwards at Keiko.

Up in the air she goes, and then flames come out from her boots? Wow, that's definitely not something Keiko was expecting to see! Still, it appears that things are getting a bit hot with Signi's first attack. Fortunately, Keiko's got herself prepared to defend herself as necessary. And defend she does!

Somehow, despite not wearing any special equipment of any kind, Keiko manages to deflect every one of those kicks again in spite of the flames that are accompanying them. It's almost like she's doing it unconsciously, that's how natural it looks!

Once she finishes defending, Keiko nods her head a little. "Well, that's not something you see a lot. That was an interesting surprise."

When she returns to her fighting stance, the blue-haired girl doesn't waste any time in launching her offensive. She attempts to deliver a swift kick aimed perpendicular to her body, which could hit the stomach if Signi's not careful!

There's a bit of a huh sound from her as Keiko manages to parry her kicks. She should have expected that from a trained fighter. here's rather loud clanking sound as Keiko kicks Signi's chest. That's going to leave a dent at least. A decent amount of her body may be metal but that doesn't mean she's invisible

She lowers herself back to the ground and attempts to rapid grab Keiko to toss her with her oversized hands. Nothing fancy, but hopefully she should be able to get a hold on her right.

Everyone makes mistakes, even Keiko. Before, she would've been crying her eyes out about it, but now she's accepting of her flaws. She thinks she knows how Signi is planning to grab her, but she misjudges the distance and winds up getting caught before being thrown onto the ground.

"Oww," Keiko says as she rubs her backside before picking herself up again. "That wasn't supposed to happen." Shaking her head, Keiko returns to her fighting stance and stares at Signi. "That was pretty impressive, I'll give it that."

Rather than try to go in directly, Keiko decides to try cooling off Signi directly. With a swift hook, a blue ball of chi that looks something like a snowflake flies at Signi.

Well, Signi's more used to the cold than most people she can handle it right? She's having second thoughts about trying to do so after the frost blast hits her. Even with her coat and not being fully human she still shivers a bit. She wonders if she can do that now, but she would probably have to alter her programming first.

She closes the distance between them as she does everything she can to warm up. She does have energy attacks of her own, but right now she decides to simply to try and deck Keiko with one of her oversized hands.

Big hands means big power. Big power means big pain. So what does Keiko do in a situation like this? Simple, she resorts to defending herself rather than avoiding it. She tightens up and deflects that punch away, albeit with a little bit of wincing on her part.

"Well, those aren't for show it seems," Keiko says as she recovers from the impact. "I'll have to be more careful." With that, Keiko looks at Signi and says, "Let me show you something."

Keiko rears back to throw a punch, only this one has her fist glowing with chi as she attempts to throw her punch at Signi. She may not have huge hands like Signi does, but Keiko still can throw a mean punch!

It seems likes she can also store energy in her fists. "Cryomancy?" Signi can't help but to ask her about that now. Keiko seems rather human to her so she figures it much be supernatural in origin. She's not sure if she can learn that, she could probably install a freeze ray or something in her body but that wasn't the same.

There's something she can do involving energy and her hands though as she tries to places them on Keiko's chest. A rather strong electric currently suddenly discharges from them.

"No, it's actually my chi," Keiko responds. "It takes on a bluish aura, so that's probably why this happened." Before she can say any more, she finds a pair of hands on her chest. "Hey! Get off of me!" She forgets why Signi has her hands there for a moment, and the next thing she knows, Keiko is getting a rather shocking experience.

"Ungh..." Keiko groans a little as she recovers from the shocking surprise she received. "Well, it seems you've got more up your sleeves than I imagined!" Keiko wipes the sweat from her forehead and takes a deep breath.

"But don't think I'm going down that easily!" Keiko then attempts to deliver a series of hooks at a faster rate of speed than one might think. Is it her chi or is she just doing it naturally? Who knows.

Signi simply nods at that sighing a bit, regardless its likely something she can't learn. She can copy her moves but not her soul. She's built more for durability than mobility as takes Keiko's blows. Her breathing grows a bit stronger as the cold air hits her chest.

Speaking of tricks up her sleeves she another one for Keiko. She does a V sign with her hand but she knows that she hasn't won yet. Instead her hand deattaches and flies forward at full force towards the kickboxer.

So the hand detaches? That's a new one on Keiko! It shouldn't be that surprising, given what she's working with. Nevertheless, Keiko refuses to give up easily. She takes on a defensive stance, waiting patiently for the hand to get close enough.

And then, she manages to deflect it away effortlessly. It's almost all too easy for the kickboxer. "Well, that's pretty clever, I'll give you that!" Keiko then advances and attempts to deliver a swift hook punch.

Signi has to move out of the way to catch her hand to reattach as it bounces back. This is certainly a learning experience for both of them. It's a lot easier to avoid one punch than a series of them after all.

She does a waving gesture with one arm as she moves back a bit to gather her full power. She then releases all the force she can with both arms as she attempts to uppercut Keiko high into the air.

Keiko thinks that this should be easy enough. She steadies herself for a double spinning backhand. It should be easy, right?

Wrong.

It happens faster than she anticipates, and Keiko goes flying across the ring. She's left on the ground for a moment before she pushes herself up back onto her feet. "I think I'd best check my timing next time."

[SIGNI]
Signi dashes over to Keiko while she recovers from the attack. She might as well try to take advantage and of the situations before she has a chance to fully recover. She leans back once again but this time she punch Keiko again. Instead she slams her hands and feet against the ground creating a shockwave.

Keiko gets hit hard. Very hard.

If you look closely, you can see the stars and birdies spinning around her head!

"Oh wow, there are so many frozen alligators in my living room," Keiko babbles as she lapses in and out of consciousness. Somehow, though, she manages to regain her lucidity long enough to summon her chi.

"Win or lose... that's how it goes..." Keiko mutters. She then throws forth several blue spheres of chi at Signi.

Then she collapses onto the ground, albeit with a slight thumbs up.

[SIGNI]
Signi feels somewhat chilled again as the chi hits her. It's not enough to break her down, but it's not completely in vain at least. "Good fight..." She's breathing fairly heavy at this point as she gently offers Keiko a hand back up. She doesn't want to hurt her anymore at this point after all.
