Match of the Millennium

Description: Odyssarah finds a cave whilst out exploring in Crete and thinks it would be a cool place to host a party at! The problem is, there's already a one-eyed giant, Polypehmus, sleeping there and he's not very happy at being disturbed by the lively DJ.

The story of Odysseus and Polyphemus doesn't exactly paint a pretty picture of the legendary cyclops at first glance. Effectively a man-eating savage who was later outwitted and then blinded by the hero Odysseus who then managed to escape his wrath, the giant could be said to have gotten what he deserved. After all, scorning basic hospitality by eating people isn't exactly a very nice thing to do.

But they did invade his home uninvited and upon returning home to find his cave infested with puny humans.....well...what's a cyclops to do other then dine! Hopefully Braun is a bit more easy going then resorting to trying to chomp on any who will disturb his rest today though he can't help but have some sort of kindred spirit with some elements of the legends. After all, who likes having their home invaded with loud noise or an unexpected party and round of DJing?

So for his part, the massive Beastman is lounging in the depths of the selected cave set for the match, drapped across the large marble throne while dressed in ye-olde cosplay quality toga with a wide leather belt studded with metal. A cyclops themed face mask dangles in one hand while his other hand lazily spins about one of the prop human bones that had been scattered about the massive stage.

"Oh, I'm soooo tired after a long day o'herdin' sheep! I hope some uppity greek hero doesn't show up bein' all noisy' and invadin' my privacy doesn't show up. I might have to whup 'er ass or somethin' on account of 'er awful taste in music and terrible DJ skills wakin' me up!" he rumbles out, tone languid and bored sounding as his huge body stretches out abit over the throne a bit more, clawed feet scratching across the marble surface.

[SARAH]
Uppity Greek hero? Awful taste in music? Terrible DJ skills?

The Beastman can't be referring to the young lady known as DJ Supernova, can he? Surely he can't be referring to Sarah Ashley Kuzumi, can he?

If you guessed that he was referring to Sarah, you're right... well, sort of.

The young DJ is going by the alias of Oddyssarah instead of her usual name. All part of the theme for this whole battle. But that's aside from the point.

The young DJ is also wearing a toga, albeit one that's been modified to let her legs be able to move freely, and again she's not wearing her usual baseball cap. Hey, when in Rome- erm, Greece, right?

As Oddyssarah arrives in the cave, she looks around and puts her hands on her hips before smiling. "Well, what've we got here? A mighty large cave that has to have some mighty great acoustics! I bet this would make a great place for a show!"

Oddyssarah's smile fades a little when she spots what's supposed to be Polyphemus sitting on the throne and she covers her mouth as if she's made a faux pas. "Oh, dear me, it seems I'm trespassing, am I?" She giggles. "Then again, if you're livin' in a cave, you could probably use some good entertainment, right?"

[BRAUN]
He was indeed referring to her. How rude!

Though truth be told he's hamming it up for the recordings going on. He actually rather like's the work of DJ Supernova.

But the idea of having his 'rest' disturbed by an impromptu party...why...that's something he wouldn't like under any circumstance so it's easy to stay in character with this scenario.

"My cave isn' a cave for partyin' but for restin'! A person requires a certain amount of hours of sleep for good health and disturbing that with lights, noise, dancin' and bumpin' jams is bad news!!"

Nevermind that he was wide awake...

"So -now- I'm gonna have to teach you a lesson about trespassin' and partyin' in the wrong place and time!"

He pushes up from the huge throne, towering up to his large height and then he springs forward, a great hulkish leap that catapults him towards the middle of the cave, facing Oddyssarah once he lands with a heavy thump.

He then drops into his combat stance, shifting one leg forward and raising one arm up behind him while his other arm ifts, muscles bulging and claws crackling with hints of red energy as he grins at the DJ.

"Time to shut yer party down!"

"Restin'? You? Just who do you think you are? Fred Flintstone?" Oddyssarah asks with a slight smirk. "Of course, I'd think Mr. Flintstone would be up for some jammin' and whatnot." She snorts a little when her opponent arrives ready for a fight. "So, it looks like we're gonna have to do this the hard way, hmm?" She shrugs. "Oh well, all the better!"

With that, Sarah does a few quick stretches before getting into the ginga, moving from side to side as she sizes up her opponent. "Shut the party down? I'm just about to get it started! Perhaps you need to wake yourself up!" With that, Oddyssarah attempts to deliver a spinning kick towards her opponent in an attempt to possibly get him with the scene.

Alas it would seem that Polyempheus is not interested in engaging in a dance off just yet. He brings his massive arm forward, twisting his body slightly, and allowing the incoming kick to come slamming full bore into one of his massive forearms. The strike weathers the blow well and he holds his ground against her while grinning at her with a fanged full toothed grin that contrasts with the concept of him being a 'sleep deprived giant'.

"Gonna need to turn up the music abit more to get me dancin'...." he quips as he pushes her away and then suddenly lunges in forward in a blindingly fast blur of movement.

One of his massive arms drags behind him in a wild raking swing that trails a scythe of energy wtih it as he swipes for her with a raking energy infused blow!

"The music hasn't even started yet, I'm afraid," Oddyssarah says as she returns to the ginga, going from side to side as she watches and waits for her opponent to come after her again. Even though she's barefooted, the kick didn't hurt as much as she thought it might have. Especially considering Polyempheus soaked it up pretty well.

"I'll get that goin' when we're really rockin' and rollin'!" Oddyssarah adds before taking a defensive stance as that scythe of energy comes at her. She grits her teeth as she absorbs the incoming energy infused attack. She winces a little and grits her teeth before getting back into her stance, taking a moment to catch her breath. "Well, it seems you've got your share of tricks. And so do I!"

Taking a few steps to get her ginga in proper rhythm again, Odyssarah then throws her arm back quickly before throwing forth a projectile of energy that loosely resembles a butterfly. The thing is that this butterfly is definitely not friendly!

Aggressive and energetic, Braun surges forward as the Butterfly manifests and brings both of his large furred arms up as he barrels into the discharge of brilliant energy. He grunts, grimaces but then gives a sneering grin as the power of the blazing energy ripples over him, burning and battering his form but not slowing him down just yet.

Both of his arms uncross as he leaps, attempting to clear straight through the air overtop Sarah and land behind her with a heavy thudding *thunk* to his landing. Once there he reaches for her, trying to grab her before she can twist away and rumbling out loudly,

"So waht're you waitin' on, darlin'!? Fire it on up! Yer gonna need that rock and roll if you wanna hang out in -this- cave!"

With that he attempts to seize her and then leap. A successful grab will send both of them spinning up into the air towards the top of the large cavern and then back down again in a spiraling arc accompanied by scything arcs of energy in a sort of combo of a spinning piledriver and izuna drop!

A miss would leave him rather vulnerable to a counter assault so one hopes he doesn't miss!

That looks dangerous. Real dangerous.

But Oddyssarah's ready for her opponent! If he wants to get the party started, then she'll get things started!

"Don't say I didn't warn ya!" Oddyssarah says as she watches Polyempheus come at her, and she's ready the moment he tries to grab her.

"I don't think so!" Oddyssarah says just as he's about to make contact, twisting out of the way in the blink of an eye like it's nobody's business. "Hey, you said you wanted to get things going, so let's get it on!"

As Oddyssarah is speaking, she drops down onto the ground and then proceeds to spin around while balancing on her hand. She attempts to deliver two strikes with her bare feet, one with the higher leg and one with the lower leg.

"Uh oh." Braun rumbles out in a complete breaking of keyfabe as he stumbles and staggers with the great wide swiping miss that was his attemnpt to grab her.

He's so thrown off he nearly tumbles to the ground and he twists wildly to try and regain his bearings, managing to turn just in the nick of time to see the heroic Odyssarah come spinnign in towards him.

He kicks one leg up as he hops backwards, barely managing to blunt the force of the first kick and then his arm comes down to knock away her second kick with a result that could be best described as by the literal skin of his teeth.

But it worked. He manages to recover the landing at this point but a slight smirk is on his face as he sniffs and then rubs his broad nose with the back of his hand.

"Heeeey....you aint too shabby.." he muses, still not back 'in character' just yet as he considers the DJ. Still slightly winded, he hops back and forth on his feet a few times, "You're warmin' me up!" he says, louder and then he vaults at her like some sort of oversized javelin, spinning into the air and then lashing out at her with a lightning fast kick.

"Warmin' up? I'd say I'm surprised, but then again given where I found you, I suppose it's only natural," Oddyssarah comments as she returns from having her attack blocked yet again. "As for me? I got myself warmed up on my way here." The girl proves that she's quite warmed up as she rolls to the side, avoiding the incoming kick swiftly.

"If you really are only now warming up, I daresay you've gotten a late start, since I've got a bit of a headstart with how warm I am!" Oddyssarah says as she attempts to show off a simple punching style attack, showing that practitioners of Capoeira can use their hands as well as their feet.

A clean hit finally lands and she's the first to do it! How embaressing! Especially with a quip like that as she is indeed 'warmed up'.

The blow clocks Braun hard in face as he leans in for another of his own attacks and he fails to bring his large arms up to swipe hers aside.

He staggers, stumbling and fumbling from the force of the blow and blinking way stars from his vision as he skids slightly across the cavern floor and kicks up dust and debris in his wake.

"Hngh. Yeah. alright fine. I'll grant that.." he admits with a grumble as he rubs and works his jaw.

He then presses in again, regaining ground rapidly and leaping at her with a vaulting push off from a nearby voulder that brings both of his pillar like legs stomping down towards her.

"But we'll see who gets fired up the most!"

Finally, someone lands a clean hit! And that happens to be Oddyssarah!

"Hey, don't look so down," Oddyssarah says, not abandoning her usual upbeat attitude that she's known as when she's just Sarah. "We all slip up here and there. It's just human nature!" She'd go into a song and dance if she weren't fighting, so that will have to wait.

"C'mon, show me what you got!" Sarah says as she waits for her opponent to attack her. And it seems this time Braun's taking things to extremes as he attempts to hit her with an insane attack!

But would you believe Oddyssarah is able to evade this at the last second effortlessly? Would you believe it if you saw it?

Well you better believe it, because it just happened!

"Sorry, I'm a bit of a slippery lass, you know?" Oddyssarah says as she returns to the ginga. "You gotta be careful or I'm gonna dodge you effortlessly!" And then, she attempts to deliver a backflip while attempting to strike twice with her bare feet,

THe blow is a powerful one. Braun goes stumbling forward as he recoils from the rebound of his previous missed assault and his body ends up slammed not just by her strike but by the ground as he tumbles forward and crashes to the cave floor with a spray of shrapnel and a plume of dust.

But he's on his feet in the blink of an eye. A gleaming glint in his eye as he falls back into a coruched position. and slides a fwe paces away from Sarah while coiling up like a gigantic spring.

"Yeah, yeah. Don't get -cocky-..." he warns before he suddenly springs forward at her liek a cannonball.

A raging corona of energy envelops him as he does so, turning his mane of hair a bright burning red as his body seems to enlarge in mid flight and his features become more and more bestial. He attempts to slam into her full bore like a rushing comet and then, impact or no, slide past her with another plume of debris in his wake.

Guess what, it's now Braun's turn to land a clean hit on Oddyssarah!

"Oh, who said anything about getting cocky?" Oddyssarah asks, but her question receives an answer when Braun crashes into her and she finds herself in a bit of debris and down on the ground. Even worse, her toga is ripped slightly! How embarrassing!

"All right, I admit you got me there, but this isn't over yet! Not by a longshot!" In an attempt to get herself some breathing space, Oddyssarah attempts to deliver a Capoeira styled grapple and takedown. It's nothing special, but hopefully it should give Sarah a chance to catch her breath.

A swatting away of Sarah's attempt at grappling him followed up by an upwards leap and overhead flip to put some distance between them, ends up with Braun...er....Polympheu, in a crouch a few paces away from the nimble fighter.

Though he seems surprisingly nimble himself despite his great size!

"Like I said.." he drawls out. "Don't get -cocky-! Maybe I oughta put the kibosh on this party of yers before things get outta hand! Time to put you sleep!"

With that, he suddenly lunges in towards her, once again blazing across the distance and dragging his massive arm down towards the ground as he does.

A spinning upper cut occurs as he attempts to leap into the air as he rushe sfor her. His claws drag energy behind them as he spirals and spins and the force of the attack would carry them upwards and then back down again in a violent arc.

X marks the spot. Where a certain DJ gets hit hard.

And that's what happens.

Oddyssarah is left on the ground in a pile, looking bruised and bloodied while muttering random things under her breath. With a groan, she makes her way back onto her feet and into the ginga while saying, "But mum, the fish and chips place at King's Cross Station won't serve Dalmatians who like to listen to David Bowie!"

At that, she shakes her head and slaps her face a few times. "Oy... I did it again... I zagged when I shoulda zigged..." She takes a deep breath and blows it out. "Time to go all in!"

With that, Oddyssarah attempts to deliver a cartwheel into Braun. If she's successful, the strike from the cartwheel should stun him long enough while she does a modified version of her double spinning kick from earlier which will cause Braun to double over and let Sarah deliver a rising uppercut infused with chi.

"Woooollffgh!"

The force of the assault, the rapid strikes and the final surging blast of chi sends Braun tumbling as he comes out of the recovery of his previous attack. It was just too fast, too sudden and too powerful and the large Beastman is rag dolled from the force of the blows. A stunning sight considering how large he is compared to Sarah.

He goes down, crashing to the unforgiving cavern floor before slowly pushing up towards his feet and then reaching a hand up to wipe his bloodied mouth and test to see if his fangs and large teeth are still intact.

They are.

"Alright....but as y'can see.. I'm still standin' so this party is about to put to bed and you booted from my home! Kids these days!"

A sudden blazing inferno of chi blasts around him as he flexes ans widens his arms. His entire body begins to grow, shifting and morphing to an even larger and more bestial hybrid form. The chi seems to have a sense of modesty as it warps and distorts his garments to keep pace with his growth and morphing - ending up with him truly looking like some sort of lionman like battle-cat looking hybrid as a tail swishes into being behind him.

"Party's over, darlin!" he declares before suddenly lunging at her like a runaway truck.

Once in, he brings his arms around in a blitzkrieg of strikes. A series of rapid fire swiping assaults that drag and trial energy behind each blindingly fast swing which he follows up with a final cross up attempt that leaves an 'X' shaped scar of energy in the air as he tries to lunge behind her with the final blow.

Oddyssarah successfully lands her special coup de grace... but so does Braun.

It leaves Sarah on the ground, dazed and confused... with that X truly marking the spot where Oddyssarah was hit the hardest.

"Mmnnngh.... uh...." Sarah looks like she's out for the count, but then she manages to get herself back up, albeit in a bit of pain.

"The party's not quite over I'm afraid!" Sarah says as she grits her teeth through the pain while attempting to deliver a double footed leaping kick. Somehow she manages to jump into the air and attempt the attack in spite of the pain.

"Damn girl!"

Braun weathers the kick with both of his enlarged arms. He's at least somewhere in the Abigail to Potemkin scale of size now so there's -alot- of him to hit but there's also alot more of him to block as he brings his arm up and blunts her incoming attack and then pushes back against her to send her rebounding away.

But despite this, he's not necessarily at maximum power himself now is he. The bruises, welts, scars and scrapes on him are even more visible in this enhanced state and it's indeed getting down to the wire.

Though chi crackles about him, he internalizes the energies for the moment and instead bears down on her with another rapid series of strikes, sending with an attempt to wrap his massive arms about her and suplex her overhead and towards the cave floor with maximum force.

"You just dyin' to keep this party jumpin'!"

[SARAH]
One last effort from Oddyssarah, throwing forth a barrage of energy butterflies...

But it's no good...

The swarm never comes...

Instead, Oddyssarah goes down hard, and this time she doesn't get up. She blurts out, "Good show..." Before closing her eyes.

[BRAUN]
It was probably a matter of seconds between her attempt and Braun reaching her but reach her he does and after the cave floor shakes from the impact and a plume of dust once more billows up towards the ceiling of the cavern, the giant beastman rises and emerges from it, turning to see Sarah finally still and on the ground.

There's a flash of energy as his enhanced form bleeds away into chi and mist, leaving his original burly and towering frame there. He huffs, taking big gasps of air as he cools himself down again and then grins and offers Sarah a thumbs up just before she closes her eyes.

"ANd that's how y'end a party!"
