NFG Season One - Holding Out For The Heroes

[Toggle Names]

Description: The idea that they'd even need a team to scale the roof whilst Ariastra distracted the gate guard and the others went through the front door had seemed fanciful, but worst case scenario it would mean that Buck and Hawksley could provide backup from an unexpected direction. Then it turned out this is, in fact, where Juri has come to have her private conversation with her kidnapped victim. It's a cold night and Coco is hardly dressed for the weather, but with two hot-blooded young heroes fresh from the fight and the sadistic Taekwonda off her leash at last, things are sure to heat up fast for her in all sorts of ways.

[JURI]
The sun is starting to dip down on the horizon when there's a squeal of rubber and the rather, loud, sounds of an angry Abigail being engaged out the front of the Frost Warehouse. Say what you like about the big man, he makes an excellent guard dog. Juri would trust him to hold off a small army by himself if he had to; and he'd been surprisingly ameniable to her plan. He didn't need to do anything so dramatic.

"So, that's the basics." She says, waving her hand vaguely as the sounds of battle begin to ring out from below. "Not that talking about it is going to get us anywhere."

She cocks her head to the side as though listening particularly intently.

"I've gotta say, more of them turned up than I thought. You might just be more popular than you give yourself credit for." She grins, and clasps her hands behind the back of her head, kicking one leg idly into the air, "Or they really do think I'm going to kill you. Hah! Guess I can't blame them for that."

That good eye of hers sparkles mischeviously.

"How about it? Want to give them a nice big scream? That'll really get their blood pumping."

[COCO]
Coco is lying on her back on top of the warehouse, still in her purple bikini, her arms folded behind her head, Chanel pilot shades reflecting the sunset as she stares at the sky. Three empty bottles of grape soda lie next to her head. It's been a long afternoon, and she's looking a little more rouge around the edges, but more than anything, she's a little bored at this point.

"If they thought you were going to kill me, they're probably just coming because they're well jelly," Coco comments as she rolls over on her front, pulling a pout as she props herself up on her elbows. "And do I have to? My throat still hurts from before, and, more importantly, I don't think I can be arsed," she says as she rests her chin on her arms and starts kicking her legs lazily to maintain some minimal level of bloodflow in her limbs.

[JURI]
A dark shadow falls across Coco's features.

It's not like Juri can't sympathise; lounging around waiting for things to get interesting is always the most boring part. Maybe that's what makes it so easy for her to fall back into intimidation mode, though. Seeing someone act more or less *exactly* like she would in this situation... well, it pisses her off.

"Yes."

And in the very next moment, Coco finds herself being grabbed and hauled back up to her feet.

"I went through a lot of trouble here. The least you can do is play your part."

She pushes in closer. Her face just an inch or so from Coco's.

"Or maybe you want a first-hand demonstration, rather than just getting to watch?"

[COCO]
A few seconds later, a high-pitched scream rings out from the roof of the warehouse.

[HAWKSLEY]
==*== EARLIER ==*==

Hawksley has a bearcat sitting on his lap.

Following the dramatic kidnapping of Coco from Daybreak Beach by Team Frost Femme Fatale Juri, himself, Buck, Chevy and Ichika retreated to the Team Thunder Hotel for rest and refreshments. Hawksley's own choice coming mostly in liquid form.

Thunder sensai, Ariastra had spotted the foursome together and grown curious, upon which the dire situation they found themselves in had been revealed. The immortal had kindly agreed to provide healing where needed and then to join them in their rescue attempt.

Buck is driving the car with Ariastra sitting alongside him, her extreme seniority allowing her to call shotgun without protest. Hawksley finds himself in the back, sandwiched between the two Team Thunder teens with Captain Morgan chuckling away and munching on the last of his bunch of grapes.

"So you're sure we should be splitting up now?" he wonders aloud, gazing out the window at the grim looking building when the truck comes to a stop.

"I'm not sure I like the idea of me and Buck leaving you lasses to it."

[BUCK]
Once at the building, Buck kills the engine and hops out, grabbing his wide-brimmed cowboy hat off the dash and plopping it on his head. He had gone for a change of clothes back at the hotel and was in his more customary jeans and t-shirt combo, though still wearing the sandals he had on the beach.

He had also forgone any healing from his team mentor, but after some food and water looked as fresh-faced and ready to brawl as he had before his fight with Hawksley.

"Don't worry about them. They can both of them kick butt. We need to keep surprise on our side. They'd expect us to stick together."

He gazes up at the building, looking for where the best spot to scale the walls may be. While he can cheat a little to help him climb, it's still better to do it where its easiest.

He points to an alley on one side of the building with a look over to Hawksley to see if he agrees with the pick of infiltration points.

[HAWKSLEY]
Hawksley is still in his blue jeans and white sneakers without anything to cover his top half. Apparently he was more concerned with having a drink than dressing the part, athough he'd have had to borrow some clothes from Buck anyway. He left his red Mustang in the parking lot at the beach, hoping it would still be there if and when they got back from this trip.

"Loving the hat" he laughs as Buck puts it on. "I feel like I've got Clint Eastwood on my side."

He nods at the other man's opinion of the female fighters, knowing full well they can handle themselves. He just doesn't know exactly what they'll be facing.

"Alright, well good luck everyone. See you on the other side."

He makes his way over to the inflitration point suggested by Buck, nodding his head to affirm he agrees with his assessment. The wall seems to be damaged somewhat in this area, which could allow for more positions to place their hands and feet on the ascent. His own experience of climbing is limited to garden fences and trees, so he's happy for Buck to lead the way.

"After you, fella" he starts to say but his words are drowned out by an ear piercing scream.

[BUCK]
"I only break out the hat for serious matters." Buck says, playing up his country drawl a little more. Glancing up the wall he nods. "Looks easier than climbin' to the roof of the barn."

Lacing his fingers together he cracks his knuckles, then shakes out his hands and makes for the first handholds to start the ascent.

They way he's moving though, he might be cheating on the climb a little, using his ability to give himself a better grip on the handholds he finds, but they seem to be supporting his weight, which is good.

His head snaps up at the scream and his hat almost falls off his head, but he loosens one grip to quash it back onto his skull.

He doesn't hollar encouragement to Hawksley but begins to scramble up the wall with an increased sense of urgency, hoping the sounds of the other fights breaking out are covering the sounds of their scramble up the wall.

[HAWKSLEY]
Hawksley is pretty confident that the scream belonged to Coco, so he's happy to hurry up the building too. The truth is though, he's no match for Buck as far as climbing goes. He may be young and fit but he lacks the natural affinity for it that the other fella has.

This means that Buck is likely to pull ahead, leaving the Irishman to follow in his wake as best he can. Thankfully he has no fear of heights, so that's something in his favour.

In his bid to keep up, he almost stumbles at one point, feeling his legs swing beneath him. "Feck" he mutters under his breath, mindful of cursing any louder in case it reveals their position.

As his heart pounds in his chest, he pushes himself back into position to continue the climb.

[BUCK]
Buck takes the last few handholds as quickly as he can, trusting that Hawksley is right on his proverbial tail, only taking a quick glance back at the curse, but seeing he's fine he just keeps going.

Once reaches he top and hops over the lip of the roof to land in a hopefully stealthy crouch, he takes only a moment to survey the scene around him, putting a finger over his lips should Coco spot him and hopefully not Juri.

He reaches down over the side of the roof, extending a hand to give Hawksley an easier way up the last few feet and onto the roof.

[JURI]
Sigh. Juri had actually thought she'd like the scream but, it's just nowhere near as fun when their heart isn't in it. She opens her mouth, clearly about to say something, when she hesitates, and a slight frown tugs at her brow.

"Oh. Tch. Clever boys."

Buck's thought about the fight cloaking his approach is a good one, and against most people it would likely have worked. But, Juri is quite literally psychic. When he hauls himself up over the edge of the roof, it is to find the devil-haired woman staring him down, arms crossed over her chest, hips cocked to the side, with Coco behind her.

A palpable air of menace exudes from the woman. She is, in fact, younger than both Buck AND Hawksley, but it's easy to forget that. She lifts her hand, holding up one finger to Buck as he turns back to give Hawksley a hand. "Ah, ah, ah..."

And only when Hawksley has also made it up safely onto solid ground does she actually speak.

"I said I'd give her back in one piece." She jerks her thumb over her shoulder towards an apparently-unharmed Coco. "You two? You've come waltzing into my web all on your own! Do you think I'm going to let you just walk away?! HAH! Who do you people think you are DEALING with here?!"

[COCO]
Standing behind Juri, her arms folded across her midsection, Coco is shivering - at first, it might look like it's from fear, but the truth is that it's because night is falling and it's starting to get chilly up on the roof in her state of relative undress. When Hawksley and Buck appear, she does lower her arms to her sides, balling her hands into fists, her posture tensing a little.

"About bloody time," she adds, her eyes flitting to the two men who've come to her rescue. They then flit to the back of Juri's head, and she looks like she's about to raise her clenched hands into a fighting stance... but in the follow through, she instead stifles a yawn with one hand while brushing the fingers of her other through her purple hair.

"I'll just be over here, then. Have fun, boys."

Turning around, she saunters away, stooping to grab another bottle of soda before bringing it to a ventilation shaft atop the building. Plonking her posterior down atop it, she cracks the soda and takes a swig before slouching, propping herself up with one hand as she prepares to watch.

[HAWKSLEY]
Hawksley gratefully accepts the helping hand, using it to hoist himself up and over on to the roof's flat surface. Placing his hand on Buck's shoulder he gives it a friendly squeeze before seeking out the scene that is before him.

Whereas seeing Coco is still in one piece is comforting, the sight of Juri is striking in more ways than one. She seems to excude sinister power albeit in a very pretty package.

"You said you'd probably bring her back in one piece" the Irishman corrects her. "We weren't willing to take that chance."

As Coco decides to swan off, he takes a step closer to the other woman. "Hey, Coco Pops. You did right geting out the way."

His hand is already in place on the flask in his pocket. With a swift movement he's swigging from it, before blowing the whiskey towards Juri's face and setting it aflame, in the hope of alighting their feisty foe!

[BUCK]
Buck looks up as Juri appears over him with a grin. It might be a nervous grin, but it's still a grin. "Hi. Um, didn't mean to crash the party, but I mean, you kind of did it first."

He's bracing himself for an incoming attack, and is almost surprised he's able to help Hawksley up onto the roof without Juri taking advantage of his awkward position. Thought once he's up, Buck scrambles to his feet, getting ready for a brawl.

He only casts one look towards Coco as she saunters off to take her leisure, one brow arching slightly in confusion, then just sighing as Hawksley seems completely cool with it. Different team, different ways. Not his place.

He puts some space between himself and Hawksley, so they can try to come at Juri from different angles instead of sticking closer together.

As he moves a few scales form on his face, shiny even in the fading light. Then he opens his mouth, snake like fangs glistening before he launches a ball of chi-soaked venom right at Juri from his open maw.

COMBATSYS: Hawksley successfully hits Juri with Hedonism.

[JURI]
"Whatever. Just try not to bore me."

Rushing forwards, Juri barrels straight towards Hawksley - and gets a faceful of fire for her troubles. Psychic though she is, she's apparently misjudged her speed quite badly because what had been an attempt to close that distance and begin with a savaging of the irishman winds up with her taking the full force of the flames right across her face and upper body. There's a sharp intake of breath - in spite of her attitude and general air of menace, she isn't ~actually~ invulnerable...

And then she leaps into the air. Buck's venomous spit sails off the side of the roof, and all at once black and white energy races across her body. The clinging flames are extinguished underneath the weight of Juri's Psycho Power, smothering them as she uses it to twist in the air.

It's a completely unnatural motion; the woman moves in defiance of gravity as she lets her power out. A sudden descent that sees the arc of her leap become an arrow-like lunge from the heavens.

Hawksley's flames have definitely gotten the woman's attention. If he isn't quick, he'll find that heel smashing into his chest, and more of that dark energy flaring to lift him from his feet so she can batter him two, three, four times - a final kick intent on sending him hurtling in Coco's general direction.

[HAWKSLEY]
Hawksley isn't completely cool with Coco's behaviour. He'll deal with her at some point but for now he's focusing on the fight in front of him.

The boys both come at Juri with their mouths, each holding a different kind of danger for the devilish diva.

Whilst Buck's venom is evaded, Hawkley's fire finds its focus, the flame flickering at the face of the ferocious fighter.

He allows himself the satisfaction of seeing her suffer, though the feeling is swift. Soon she's seeking her revenge, racing towards him and hammering her heel into his bare chest.

He feels like he's been hit with a truck. Before he can even catch his breath, he's airborne and in a whole new world of pain.

With the final strike he's sent soaring towards Coco, landing at her feet. His dark eyes dart towards her. "You can help if you like" he suggests eyeing her soda. "If you can be bothered to shift your backside."

He turns away from her to head back into the action, spotting a potential weapon on route.

Picking up the metal bucket, he holds it by the handle as he marches forwards. Once he's close enough, he'll seek to swing it hard, aiming for the head of Juri, complete with it's contents!

[COCO]
Coco is in mid-slurp as Hawksley slides to a stop near her feet. Her eyes shift to follow his arrival, and she finishes her swig before crossing her legs and answering casually:

"Nah. You lads have got this."

She does cock an eyebrow when Hawksley stoops for the handle of the bucket. Is that -

Coco pales.

"Um, Lucky, you might want to leave that -"

Well, it's a bit too late to catch that ship. She crinkles her nose in distaste and sets the soda bottle in her hand aside for the moment, raising her hands to cover her eyes.

[BUCK]
Buck can't help but wince in sympathy as Hawksley gets nailed by Juri's attack, watching him soar across the roof with a grimace. "You alright there, Hawks?" Yeah, it's Hawks now.

He's moving in to the opening though, the least he can do is try to keep Juri distracted from hounding his fighting partner again.

Snake features revert as he closes the distance between himself and Juri. At the last moment he drops low, his leg sweeping out in a low kick as he makes an attack towards her legs, hoping to knock her a bit off balance even if the hit isn't a clean one.

[JURI]
"Pay. Attention."

The two words are practically spat as Juri alights on the roof in front of Hawksley. She sneers to see him grab the bucket, and twists out of the way of the incoming attack. Unfortunately (?), fighting two people at once is always a challenge - even for someone like her. The low sweeping kick crashes into her leg, and again she finds her teeth gritting. This is actually infuriating to her. The fight against Zog had been a good return, but she'd taken more hits there than she would have liked too. She'd never admit it, but she's *rusty*, and the beating she'd taken still, all these months later, has pain sparking in her. The ghost of the memory of her shattered legs.

This may be a first for poor Buck as a result, because the look in her eye as her foot twists into the rooftop is absolute hatred. Not just hatred, in fact, but murderous intent. She'd FELT that, and the woman's sneer grows into a grin. One that betrays her sadistic desires.

"You just couldn't wait your turn, huh?"

The leg his kick had smashed into is suddenly lashing upwards and around. The motion showing startling flexibility as she aims to wrap her leg fully around Buck's head and draw him in against her.

If that's successful, her fingers will brush his cheek. "Don't worry, we'll have a good time." She purrs...

... before HAMMERING her knee right into the man's face.

"I've just got to finish getting ~warmed up~ first."

[HAWKSLEY]
Juri deftly dodges the bucket of doom. Instead it's sent hurtling over the side of the roof, spinning and splashing its way to the sidewalk below. Hopefully nobody's out for an evening stroll.

As Buck's low kick lands, Hawksley feels a surge of hope. When the sadistic psycho then sets her seething gaze on his pugilist partner, the Irishman tries to intervene.

He's unable to reach the lashing limb, so instead he delivers a left-handed jab into a right cross to try and break open her guard.

He's hoping he can put her off-balance, allowing him to grab her by the shoulders and pull her face-first into his rising knee.

Let's see how she likes a taste of her own medicine.

[BUCK]
"Erk." Comes from Buck as Juri snags him up with her leg, forcing him back up to his feet. "Again with the head grabbing.." He manages to mutter, though it might be a bit muffled given his situation.

He just stares back at her as she caresses his cheek, maybe struggling a little to try to break the grip she has him wrapped up in. "Sorry, yer not really my type."

Finally, he manages to bring his hand up just in time to create a buffer between the knee and his face, it still hammers in to him, but at least the blow is softened somewhat.

Then he's lashing out with that same open palm, wuickly followed up by the opposite hand. Back and forth, a quick series of palm strikes, though should they connect each one leaves a glob of sticky residue behind, trailin a thread to the next strike as he tries to partially wrap Juri up in some extra large spider webbing.

And she was gloating about her web.

[JURI]
Juri weaves between the punches, even though she's facing away from Hawksley when he delivers them. She catches Buck's fist in one hand and as the webbing oozes out between her fingers, the woman laughs. High-pitched. Cruel, and deeply unpleasant. "Then you should run." She says, "Because if you don't, I'm going to make you ~satisfy~ me, one way or another."

For the briefest moment it looks like the Irishman's fingers are going to find purchase on her shoulders, and then she simply drops into a crouch. Power coils about her as she takes in a deep breath. This is hard. Harder than it should be. And that angers her. But it's ~very~ far from over. There's excitement in her too; and it is that excitement which she lets crawl over her skin.

Purple, crackling, behind the eyepatch her Feng Shui Engine is booting up. Neither man is truly an expert in energy but they've all had the opportunity to feel it over the course of the tournament. This feels very different. The menace and predatory grace in her movements isn't just some aspect of her personality; the purple light that races across her body IS sadism; physical manifestation of the HUNGER within her to cause pain and suffering.

One which she aims to indulge as she suddenly lashes upwards. Her foot comes hurtling around, seeking out the *exact same spot* where her first diving kick had hammered into Hawksley with such force, so that she can use it as a springboard to leap backwards and off the man in a graceful arc and put both fighters back in front of her.

[HAWKSLEY]
Buck's rapid reaction saves him from a more serious face smashing. Despite his nickname, Hawksley is not so lucky.

As Juri drops down faster than Coco at a club night, the atmosphere feels charged. The power oozes off the predatory female, the pleasure she's taking from their pain evident.

When her flying foot finds the sore spot on his exposed flesh, he's knocked backwards too, the dancing duo sent in opposite directions by her fluid movement.

The brawler struggles to catch his breath, the very act of breathing causing him to cough up some blood. He wipes it away angrily before slowly staggering to a standing position. He's ready to try and reap revenge.

Staring into Juri's eye, Hawksley stamps his foot at full force into the surface of the roof. At the Irishman's action, the floor ignites, creating a ring of fire that spreads outwards to surround the three fighters with a circle of flames.

Letting out a roar of rage, he aims to deliver a devastating lightning-fast punch to send the fierce female flying through the wall of fire.

[BUCK]
Buck goes stumbling forwards a few steps as his attack is thwarted, grabbing the edge of the table to stabilize himself, just int time to see Juri go full menace mode.

He grits his teeth and turns around, waiting to see where she's going next, and once he sees it's Hawksley, well, he has sympathy for the man, but that means he can move in freely.

He grabs for the closest thing at hand, one of the folding chairs and gives the leg a quick kick, causing it to fold up with a rusty squeek.

There's never any fancy martial arts from Buck, he may have picked up some boxing here and there, but he's a brawler at heart. And the best weapon in a bar brawl is a seat.

As the fire circle springs up around them, he takes a swing at Juri with the folding chair professional wrestling style, hoping to simply crack her on the shoulders with the hunk of metal.

[JURI]
The fire is a clever trick. It restricts the woman's movement as Hawksley comes charging in. Juri finally stops moving, standing up straight and staring him down. Buck takes a clumsy swing at her with the chair, and she steps contemptuously to the side, sparing him a look that just says 'really?'.

And at the last possible moment, she darts forwards right at Hawksley. The intent, clearly, is to startle the man and then push past him. Instead, he winds up hammering his fist into her gut, his resolve proving more than strong enough to keep focus through the sudden burst of motion, and she does indeed skid backwards into the wall of fire. Her heels dig into the rooftop the whole way, and she actually... holds it there, laughing as she burns.

In that moment, wreathed in flames, she really does look every part the devil she styles herself to be.

"What's the matter?" She shouts, "Aren't we all having FUN?! You BEGGED for this."

She KNOWS how hard she just hit Hawksley.

She's on him in an instant. And -- there's no play-acting in this. No holding back. The Taekwonda is a master of her art, and her leg comes crashing around again and again, wreathed in that terrifying black and white power. Each blow aims to hammer another shock of pain into Hawksley's injuries, capitalising on the damage she has already done to his body by doubling down on it over, and over, and over again. One sweeping arc chains effortlessly into the next, and into the next, until the last blow aims to crash her heel into the top of his shoulder.

Hammer him to the roof.

And *grind*.

"If you want it to stop, you just have to beg again~."

Hawksley         1/------=/=======|====---\-------\0             Buck

[HAWKSLEY]
The distraction from Buck is welcomed. Although the chair doesn't make contact, perhaps it gives Hawksley a split second longer to land the punch.

A precious split second where he can stand his ground and hold his nerve, despite the fact he's never been more terrified in his short life so far. He's looked into the eyes of dozens of opponents. Usually other fresh faced fellas like himself, boozed up and buzzing for a fight come closing time. This...creature though is something else. He can almost smell the evil coming off her.

His fist slams into her solid stomach and she finds herself burning because of the boxer once again. And yet she doesn't seem frightened by her fate. The screams he would normally expect are instead taunting shouts, challenging the Cork City fighter.

"I'm having the time of my life, darling" he manages to mouth off before she's on him again.

As the lethal limb launches into the lad over and over, he will surely fall. His legs start to buckle, blood dribbles from his open mouth and the tanned skin on his torso now bears the signs of the brutal battering he's taking. And yet...

Coco is still at this wicked woman's mercy. No matter how strangely serene she seems as she sips on her soda, he has no intention of leaving her here with this lunatic.

So when the heel comes heading for his shoulder, he catches it in his hand, before pushing it away from his frame with force. Whilst she's reeling from his reaction, Hawksley traps Juri's arms with his own, leaving her helpless to stop his forehead from smashing into her face repeatedly.

[BUCK]
Buck whiffs with the chair, letting it drop to the ground behind him after the swing. Okay, maybe it wasn't the best idea.

He hops back a step, expecting retaliation to come his way, but Juri seems absolutely focused on Hawksley. Which only hurts Buck's ego a little tiny bit.

He crouches low, one foot scraping back along the roof as he keeps himself facing Juri as she bounds around their battle field. What look like horns begin to grow from his head, except they begin to branch and split into a myriad of sharp points. He's not caring about not goring his opponent this time, instead of a bull, he's going for his namesake.

As he witnesses Hawksley turning an attack around on Juri, he lets out a cheer that turns into an animal bellow as he launches himself forward, neck thickening and features growing more bestial as he readies his own attack, trying to capitalize on the opening created by his ally to land his own skull bash, this one with sharp pointy bits.

COMBATSYS: Buck successfully hits Juri with Bullheaded ES.

[COCO]
It's been an interesting spectacle for Coco up to this point. She's finally had to pluck her sunglasses off of her nose in order to watch through the dying light, folding them up and tucking the frames into the side strap of her bottoms to free her hands. When she sees a burning Juri pounce on Hawksley, though - senses the power that's rolling off of her, and the intent behind the kicks raining onto the Irishman - something does stir inside her, and she finds herself instinctively pushing off of the ventilation unit she's perched on, nails starting to dig against the metal as she nearly rises.

"Wait! Don't kill hi-"

She cuts herself short as Hawksley finds an opening to start bashing his own face into Juri's, and horror creeps into her expression, her mouth hanging open.

"Oh, God. She is definitely going to kill him now. LUCKY! Just give up!"

[JURI]
Juri raises an eyebrow when Hawksley actually manages to grab her leg and arrest her motion.

"Seriously?"

Her disbelief is short-lived, though. He hammers his head into her face over and over again, and when she stumbles back, it is to be struck full-force from behind by Buck's antlers. Her teeth grind together as she is forced to wheel around to the side to regain her footing; she ALMOST loses it and goes sprawling. This has gone from infuriating to downright embarrassing. How dare these small fry actually hurt her? HER?! She'll kill BOTH of them, she'll crush the Irishman's throat first and-

And then Coco cries out.

There's... a palpable wave of confusion that roils out from her as she struggles with herself. The old Juri? There's no question. She'd throw herself back on Hawksley and kill him or die trying. But that ISN'T the point here. That ISN'T what she's trying to do. She wants to. So badly. Her pride AND her physical injuries sing at her to go back in on him and finish the job; he's so weak, so close, it'd be so easy, so ~satisfying~.

She staggers, and her hand reaches up to clutch her eyepatch. Beneath it, the artificial Psycho Power BURNS her. She can feel it buzzing angrily beneath her palm. Because no. Those AREN'T her thoughts. IT wants her to kill. SHE doesn't. She's trying to be better. That's, why she started all this, wasn't it? To prove she could be MORE than just a killer. So why does she want to murder these two men so badly? It wasn't like... they deserved it.

The realisation has her squeezing the socket harder. Her good eye - the one that's real, organic - glares between Hawksley and Buck with absolute loathing.

And then she lets out a long, shuddering breath. Straightens, makes herself smile, as though it were no big deal at all. As though everything that had happened was one big joke.

"We're done here." She says, waving her hand vaguely in Coco's direction. "You win. Good job. Now get the hell out of my sight before I change my mind."

COMBATSYS: Juri takes a moment to recover her cool.

Hawksley         1/------=/=======|=====--\-------\0             Buck

[HAWKSLEY]
Hawksley was waiting for this. He's been wondering when the farm boy would go animal on him and apparently this time the shapeshifting scrapper has chosen the form of a buck. How appropriate.

As the antlers emerge, the Team Thunder fighter gets himself a grin of appreciation. The Irishman's teeth are still in tact but the rest of his face isn't looking too pretty. Blood streams from his mouth and nose, he's got the beginning of a black eye and his forehead is an angry red from being used as a weapon.

When Coco calls out to him, Hawksley fires back at her. "Feck off, Coco. I'm not giving up. How about you get your posh, pampered arse over here and help us instead?"

But then there's no need for the kickboxing Brit to get her hands dirty, because Juri decides to back off.

There's disbelief in Hawksley's brown eyes as she stares back at him and Buck. "So you're letting her go?" he checks, sparing a glance back to the captee. He sounds supicious, his posture not relaxing as yet.

[BUCK]
There's a clattering noise as the antlers drop to the ground in front of Buck as his face returns to something more human. It's one of the reasons he doesn't use them, antlers aren't horns.

His expression is worried though as he watches Juri, waiting for her to get her payback. She certainly seems like the type. He even picks up the fallen antlers, holding them like a pair of weapons he intends to attack with.

Juri's words stun him though, worry turning to disbelief as he looks from their opponent over to Coco and Hawksley. "I think we better just take her up on it, bud."

Though he doesn't quite seem willing to lower his makeshift weapons completely, he does start to edge to the way down, hoping his teammates below have cleared the way for them.

[COCO]
Coco rolls her eyes as Hawksley fires his rejection back at her.

"Just because I insisted that the dojo stock quilted in the lavat'ry doesn't mean -" she starts to fire back, but the sudden cessation of hostilities and shift of demeanour from Juri causes her to blink with the same surprise that the other two show. She quickly pushes herself fully to her feet, carefully circling around Juri's back toward the two men who've come to her rescue.

"Well done, boys," she calls out, trying to match Juri's sudden smily nature. "I mean, this has all been fun, has it not? I hope somebody's brought a set of ladders, or a rope, or something. It's a bit far down to jump, obvs, or I would have done sooner."

[JURI]
"Did I stutter?"

Juri takes another deep breath, and that smile of hers takes on a more... fixed, quality. Definitely insincere. And yet it stays plastered on her face anyway.

"Like I said. We're done. You beat the big bad monster and saved the day. Congratulations, your Princess WAS in this castle."

Her eye settles on Buck, and she sneers. "Not your type. Tch. Come back for round two and I'll show you ~exactly~ what you're missing out on."

Then she turns her back on the trio. Folds her arms across her chest. They can't see it, but her smile is gone completely. Her eye closed. It takes a lot of effort to rein herself in. But she does it. Her fingernails dig deep into her arms.

"Now SCRAM."

[HAWKSLEY]
There's a silent nod of solidarity from Hawksley as Buck suggests they accept their out. As Juri confirms she's done playing with them, he moves over to Coco, his expression full of disbelief at her words.

"Fun?" he yells at her. "Fecking fun?"

"Is this what the whole thing is to you? Just a bit of a laugh? Kicking Chevy, watching a psycho attack me and Buck, sitting there like fecking Lady Fancy Knickers with a stupid smile on your face. No Coco, I don't find it fun."

He grabs hold of her wrist, tugging on it roughly as he tries to pull her towards the edge of the roof so they can make their exit.

No matter how much he might be pissed off at this teammate right now, she does make a good point regarding how they're gonna get down.

[BUCK]
Buck stares at Juri's back, opening his mouth as if he's about to say something, and then just thinks better of it and closes it. Even a nice comment might get him kicked in the face he assumes, so he just goes for silence.

Even if Hawksley's rant at Coco draws a wince from him. Instead he just heads over to the edge of the roof, looks at the pair. "I'll go get the truck started."

Then he's bounding over the side, going back to the ground in little hops down the wall, definitely cheating by the way he's sticking to it.

He might be in a bit of a rush to get away from either Juri or the arguing teammates.

Or both.

[COCO]
It wasn't really for Hawksley's or Buck's benefit that Coco had called it 'fun.' Well, not beyond trying to convince them that nobody was ever going to get seriously hurt. The judgment coming off of him causes her to flinch inwardly. Then, anger flashes behind her silver eyes...

==*== IN COCO'S MIND'S EYE ==*==

...and she locks her own hand around Hawksley's to break his grasp before thrusting her foot straight into Hawksley's midsection and releasing him, sending him flying off of the roof with a shocked expression on his face. Then, tossing a salute to Juri, she jumps off after, crashing down on top of the Irishman as her makeshift landing pad.

==*== WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS ==*==

...before she lets it fade with a sigh.

"Don't blame me, Lucky. I've probably got a double shot of sunstroke and Stockholm Syndrome going on. Here, I'll let you climb down first to make it up to you."

What does letting Hawksley climb down first have to do with making it up to him?

Any lad who's had a chance to take a position below an attractive woman on a ladder might be able to hazard a guess.

She tosses a hesitant glance at Juri as she waits for Hawksley to begin the descent before turning to the edge of the roof and steeling her nerves for what's ahead. At least she had those rock climbing lessons in Krabi.
